Speaker 1 (00:00):
James Woody Johnson made headlines last week for some hardest
comments he gave him by Justin Fields. Johnson is hard
when you have a quarterback with a rating that we got.
If we could just complete a pass, it would look good.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
According to former two's.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Quarterback Jordan Travis, these aren't the only troubling comments Johnson
has made to one of the team's quarterbacks despite dealing
with serious leg injury. Travis remembers Johnson asking him, are
you ever gonna get healthy?
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Travis?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
There were things that were said to me, not obviously
to that point because I never got in the field
to play about my leg, just slick comments. I don't
know if he was trying to be slick about it
or you know how some older men just say whatever comes.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
To their mind.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
And that kind of made me feel a certain type
of way, now how you feeling? Never that there was
always comments like that. It's either U point a finger
at Justin Fields or Aaron Glann for the Jets troubles,
but Robert Salad seems to be the coach defense really
well for the forty nine ers. Aaron Rodgers looked pretty
good Pittsburgh, Sam Donald two, Oh Joe Joe. How much
(01:05):
blame should we place on harnership led by Woody Johnson
for the long long history of Jets failure.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
I mean, listen, a young similar to the quarterback situated
through the Chicago Bears for the long long history of
fails that that position as well. I mean management is
the blame as well for the long, long long failures
for the quarterback position with the Jets. Most of the time,
that identity for the Jets has always been their defense.
That has always been the better part of the successful
(01:34):
part of their their their team. Obviously not this year,
and obviously offense not this year. Is well, But I
thought I really thought this was justin fields year. I
thought it would have been this year. He had nothing
to worry about. He had nobody eyeing over his shoulder.
It was his team, his team to win, and his
team and lose.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
They're one and seven, obviously beating my Bengals.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
But it is what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
But I think at some point they will turn it around.
I think think he can be the.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Future for the New York Jets.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Is he gonna get that opportunity to be After Woody
Johnson came out and said some of the things he
said publicly that most owners would say to themselves or people. Yeah, yeah,
you never say anything like that publicly. But it seemed
like since Jerry Jones said what do you need to say,
other owners are now having the owners and the wirewithal
to say, you know what, forget it.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
I'm just gonna say how I'm feeling and let him know.
And it has to it has to.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Hurt to know that your owner feels that way, and
I still got to go out there and play for him.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Hey, look I kind of I kind of I agree
kind of with Justin Fields. I mean, you got other
guys who can play for their franchise man quarterbacks and
they went off and you know, play for other organizations,
and well, so therefore, yeah, you gotta start up top
with the organization and how things have been ran, because
(02:57):
for whatever reason, they hadn't been getting you know, great outcomes. Obviously,
Justin Field's played great this past week, but man, you
hope he can build confidence from that and try to
you know, continue.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
To you know, play at an elite level. They gotta
improve the roster overall.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
OK, Joe, Yeah, but that's hard. You know, how much time.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Will they give Aaron time to improve the I think
because a G played there, I think he'll probably have
a little longer I think he'll have a little longer.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Lee way than most.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
I don't want to, I don't want to know say
what we would normally say a longer leads because everybody
just try to be politically correct. I think he'll have
a longer opportunity to stay than probably most because of
his history with the organization and how well he's played
for the organization and what he knows him personally. So yes,
(03:54):
I do think he'll have a But look, I don't
care who you are. If your quarterback of them play well,
it's hard for you to win in this league.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
It's hard, very but a young a Joe, situations matter.
The situations on where you play surrounding you is very
very important. Joe, I can't think of it in basketball terms,
but maybe uncle Joe, you get you could probably probably
relate to it. Who would be Daniel Jones on the
New York Giants in basketball terms, and then all of
(04:26):
aus is Daniel Jones, that player actually leaving said team
and going somewhere else and succeeding the way Daniel Jones
is succeeding in Indianapolis.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
Who would that be? In basketball terms?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Who would that be?
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Because Dane Jones balling about killing it? Yeah, I'm trying
to let me see the only thing is that Brunton
didn't he I mean, he left the Mavericks and went
to New York and he balling in New York as
a team.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
But yeah, he was you know what I mean, ain't nobody,
Ain't nobody over shining Luca not now? Yeah, yeah, he
was backing up Luca.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
But he went off and you know, obviously you know
what he's doing in New York right now. But uh,
because I mean they let Daniel Jones go. They just
they they let him walk on about.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and he ended.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
Up he went to uh he didn't he go to
Minnesota far Yeah what did?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:20):
He was the backup. He was the backup in Minnesota
when the Minnesota then went on down.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
To Uh in basketball, I don't know, man, uh No,
but he played. He was good in Chicago. Who was
Zavy Butler? Yeah, Jimmy was good.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Jimmy been good everywhere, went on Chicago, Philly. He's always
been consistent, I mean with what he does. Well, see
The thing is is that we thought.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
We thought, if you go back and look at Bronson
when Luca was out, he showed you what he could
do if he had his own team.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yeah, yeah, go back and look.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Go back and look at when Luca missed that time,
and look at what Brunson was doing. So now he
got his own team, he's gonna be the primary ball handler.
He's gonna be the primary shot taker. I don't think
anybody is surprised by this. Now, maybe maybe the guy
averaged twenty six twenty seven points a game and as
many thirty point games he's had, But I thought he
would be really well Now that I think he'd be
(06:24):
an All NBA selection.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
I wouldn't go that far, but I thought he could
make the All Star team.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I thought he could make an All Star team because
the guy that I'm playing that well in spurts when
he has the ball in his hand and they say okay,
and kid like, okay, we need you to do more
of a role and not be so boom. We saw that.
But look, yeah, James Harden, we saw what he was.
(06:49):
Remember he was six Man of the Year. I'm sure
people thought he could be good, but not averaging thirty
six point a night. Good, not changing the game. Good
with that step back? Noah, No, uh who else was
like that?
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Now with Shade just didn't get a chance to play.
If Shae got a chance to play, and plus look
he was he was not gonna do that with the Clippers.
Not with Kawhi. You had just gave you had just
think about what you got with Kawhi. Kawhi was gonna
be the main ball handler. Shae's in a situation. Shae
knows he can get as many shots as he wants
(07:28):
and he ain't stepping on nobody's toes.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yeah, the the Clippers they didn't want They weren't gonna
wait for No, they couldn't because it was and you
bringing Kawhi and Kawi wants to win now.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
And he basically basically said, if you don't get me,
Paul George, I'm going with the Lakers. Can you imagine Kawhi,
Lebron and a d and then you playing in the
basement with that? No, they had to they had they
had to do it, don't Joe, I.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Mean, hold on, hold on, I have a question, Joe, Joe,
and on if the Clippers knew what they knew now
about shaying how how he was traded him.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Would so how do you not see how do you
not see it?
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Because because he wasn't see a rookie oho and no
rookie because you gotta realize, he wasn't the first pick
in the draft. He wasn't a d he wasn't zion
that you're running your offense through. So now he's of
the situation, he's the offense. So you they're away. Just
(08:28):
like James Harden, people thought James could be good because
he was a great ISO player when the when when
they when KD and Russ went to the bitch, James
Harden was sensational, But sensational is averaging sixteen points a game.
He averaged thirty six. He had games where he went
like thirty forty games. He's average getting thirty a night,
(08:49):
sixty point triple doubles, fifty point triple doubles. But he
knows it's a lot easier to play, O Joe if
you the number one and you know you're gonna get twelve, thirteen,
fourteen targets.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
A game, right, right, But I understand that, right, But
the basketball heads that are in the Clippers organization, those
that have been watching the game, scout GMS and understanding
you have an eye for talent. There's a certain thing
that we can see called the IT factor. Because it's
called the eye test. Even if it's not his team,
you can tell when the player is going to be special.
(09:21):
You can look at it their game, their skill set,
what they can and what they can do. And when
you look at Shay's game on both ends of the court,
that's somebody that you say, this MF is special.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Hey, Ojo not letting him go. I think the Clippers
knew he was special. I've seen Doc Rivers. He said
that was the hardest thing to put in the trade
was to add Shay into that trade because he knew
that Shaye was going to be pretty good. Now, I
don't know if he thought he was going to be,
but he knew he was gonna be good. And then
(09:52):
on top of that, Ojo, you never know, like for Shaye,
maybe that was great for his career because they probably
put a little fire in h you know what I
mean to be like, all right, they got rid of me,
I'm gonna show him, you know what I mean? And
now he's playing at at a level to where. I
don't think nobody's seen this bro. He's he's a bucket.
He's thirty points every night, give a take. I don't care,
(10:12):
I don't care what what happened? He gonna have thirty
and plus. The biggest fridge and available was Kawhi.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Kawhi said, if you don't get me, Paul George, I'm
going to sign with the Lakers. Do you really want
Lebron James, Kawhi, Leonard and a D in the building
that you play in? Do you really want that to happen?
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Realistic?
Speaker 2 (10:40):
He was going home. He was going Kawhi was going
back to l A. I don't know you know what
team yet, but he was going back to l A
for sure.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Okay, that's crazy how players, especially NBA players can control
where they want to go. They can pick and choose
where they want to go if they if they say
I want to, I want to I want to trade,
I don't want to be here more. The team had
no choice. But the movie.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Superstars the way you have to because if a guy
only has one or one year left on his deal,
Ojo and he's telling you, you know he ain't signing back.
In so many words, then you gotta you gotta trade
him to get something back. You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (11:14):
What dude, OKC was Kevin Durant walked out the door
and didn't get nothing for him?
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
I imagine if you could have traded in before.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
See he walked out the door and you didn't get
anything nothing. Kd at his prime walks out of your
door and you don't get anything for him, the same
thing had the Clippers could have tried to just got
the Clippers the horn the hornet, not the Hornets. The
Pelicans could have tried to play hardball, but at contract.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Was coming up.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Do you really want Anthony Davis to walk out of
there and you don't get nothing for him? And you
the Pelican? Ain't nobody coming to the New Orleans. I'm sorry.
It's a great city. I mean, the jazz and the
food is amazing. But you're not getting super started to
come down to New Orleans. You're just not.
Speaker 6 (12:02):
So you have to. You don't have a choice, right,
So so what what do I?
Speaker 2 (12:10):
What do I do? O? Joe?
Speaker 1 (12:12):
And like I said, yes, I think Doc realized that
Shay was gonna be good. But I don't know if
Doc thought he'd be this good, Coach Belichick the reason
why they kept Tom Brady. They kept four quarterbacks that year.
Coach Belichick said, well, a little work. He thought he
could be good. You thought he's gonna be seven seven
Super Bowls good, fifteen Pro bows. You thought he was
(12:33):
gonna be the all time leader and passes touchdowns, wins,
super Bowl wins, super Bowl MVPs. You thought he's gonna
be that good, because if you did, you'd have took him
in the first round. You wouldn't have took him in
the sixth round. And you guess what, you have started
him from day one. So you didn't know. You thought
he could be good. Everybody like, oh, yeah, we knew
she had bro I was saying my draft pick, me
(12:54):
making the team was a feat in and of itself,
let alone playing able to play fourteen years and having them.
Everybody gets to say that after the fact. Oh, Joe,
I knew that boy was gonna make it. I knew
garsed high school. I thought I told such and such
that was gonna make it.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
It's a lot. It's a lot that has the transpiring
a lot. It does loan loan that journey man. You
know what I mean the things that mold us uh
uh in to becoming pro professional athletes. The things that
we go through. Man, it's it's ultimately, uh it determines
pretty much your longevity in the game or or how
you you know, approach the game. So when you look
(13:35):
at Shaye, it's just like when I look at Shaye,
I'm like, damn, can you imagine him in l A
and that new arena they got over there, and that's
and think about it, that was another reason they're getting
better to build a new arena.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
What do you need to go into a new arena?
Joe Superstars?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Yes, the Stars.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
People were talking about Kawhi ain't better than SGA. Maybe
not now if you think if you think sg A
he in this first the second year was than the
Kawhi y'all are damn food. Y'all watch y'all damn mind
that man was a two time Defensive Player of the
Year and a two time Finals MVP.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
The man is one of the.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Seventy seventy five greatest players of all time.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Okay, if you want to say he's not better than Shade, now,
I'm not finna fight you. As a matter of fact,
I gonna put my hand behind the chair. I ain't
you know what I'm saying, Joe, I ain't gonna fight him.
But come on now, y'all make it seem like Kawhi
was a bomb and he was far from He's still not.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Is he injury from Yes?
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Has injury robbed him of some of his best years, yes,
But to say that he was Sga was better at
that time, it's just not true because I remember for
Ja Jaha, chief Shot stuck his foot up on the
Kawhi they had. They had Golden State down by like
eighteen Yeah. Yeah, was Kawhi was a really Kawhi was
(14:57):
a great player. There's a reason why he's a two
time champion. He's a two time Defensive Player of the Year.
He could play both ends of the court and he
can play it well. But injuries have robbed him of
some of.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
His best years. And I tall this quiet quite like
sixty seven six seven.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Yeah, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Michael Jordan had his thoughts on loads management in Today's game.
He called out players sending out games to rest, saying
that he would never miss a game if he could
avoid it because of his duty to the fans.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
It shouldn't be needed.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
First and foremost, I never wanted to miss a game
because it was an opportunity to prove it was something
that I felt like, you know, the fans were that,
like they're watching me play, and I want to impress
the guys up top, who obviously worked their ass out
to get a ticket or get money to buy a ticket.
Jordan also referenced his iconic clue game against the Utah
(15:50):
Jazz in nineteen ninety seven NBA Finals, where he pushed
through illnoson a pivotal Game five. I was gonna find
a way to get out there, even if I was
a decoy. Once I got out there pushing yourself, you
never know what happens.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Right, absolutely. Hey, look I agree with him too, uh man.
I think that's that's why we that's why we love
him so much, man, just to see him sit there
and kind of you know, let let let people know
that low low management wasn't cool back hell, they weren't.
(16:24):
They weren't doing that, man. I mean even in the
even in the DVDs I used to watch with the
Cumflyer means and all that. He'll tell you, like his
thing was showing up for the fans, for the guy
who may never who may only get to see him
one time.
Speaker 6 (16:36):
That's all the money he could say.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Up. Yeah, he was gonna show up and show out.
So that's my goal. Bro uh man, I just I
enjoy seeing him break the game down. I know people
thought it was gonna probably be a much live seting.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
Yeah yeah, they thought he talking about current players.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
But he's talking giving it from his standpoint, of his
mindset of what he's thinking. He ain't gonna be actually
talking about a player in particular, like Barclay and Shy
and Kenning them they actually break down the game, Perk
and these other guys they break down the game. That's
not what he's doing. He's looking at it from a
champion's mindset, the mindset that you have to have. And
he said, I just couldn't do it. I couldn't miss
(17:15):
no time, miss a game because somebody paid a boatload
of money to watch me. He said, either believe in
the people that was buoying me. I wanted I wanted
them to see why you buying me.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Your team?
Speaker 1 (17:29):
You know what, right, oh Joe, your lord football. We
could never First of all, I don't know how you guys, thought, Joe.
But in football, we already know NFL not for long.
You sit out the game and you might not Ay,
you miss a game, somebody comes in and you might
not get that job back. Right Hey, you get Tom Brady.
(17:55):
Tom You see what Tom Brady did, he got in
and twenty three years later. Yeah, yeah, NFL, you couldn't
do you can't.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
You can't.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
You can't do that. I mean, I I hated missing
the game. Oh Joe, we had, we'd have the thing play.
I mean my ninety six we had, we had the
division sold up, we had home field throughout. And Mike said,
eighty four, I'm thinking about a you know, you've been
dealing with some ankle injuries because at that time, but yo,
I had have nerves in my ankle, had them frozen dead'
so I wouldn't feel the pain if I twisted my
(18:25):
ankle or something like that. He's like, you've been dealing
with stuff, eighty four. You know, I just want you
to sit out. Selfishly, I wanted to play. Oh yo, man,
I'm trying to get them out of the yards. I'm
trying to get another touchdown. But I said, you know,
I saw the bigger picture, but in a written but
you only got to understand oyo, were only playing sixteen
(18:48):
sixteen games in the NFL is like one game in
the NFL is like five in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Yeah yeah, hey, look that that fine. That fine. Really
don't die though, Like if you a competitor, you're a competitor.
Think about it. You heard mj say, Man, if I
could take a magic piece right now, you see what
I'm saying, Like he still love to compete. He's probably
still wish he could get out there and play, you
know what I mean. But I mean, like you said,
he ain't willing to risk popping his achilles to get
(19:18):
out there to get compete.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Just from the golf course in cards, He's still compete.
Don't let it fool you that.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Listen, A competitor is always gonna find a way to compete.
It might not be in his profession or his respective
craft that he used to do, but he's gonna find
it through other afclues when it comes to life. And
the funny thing also about the low menagerement thing and
Michael Jordan saying some of the things he said, you
have to think about the game that they played back
then mentally where they were back then, it's completely different
(19:47):
than the game is now. Not only the game, but
the players and the way they think. Everything's a little
bit different. They want to rest, they do take time off.
They don't have the same mentality the players had back there,
back then.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
You know, excuse me. It's just different all the way around.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
And with the money where it is, Joe, if I
can send out a couple of games and that's gonna.
Speaker 6 (20:09):
Give me a couple extra years, I mean, look at
it now.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
I mean by the time Shay is done, Shay and
Jason Tatum and Luca, they're gonna be it made a
billion dollars in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, yeah, you're right, a bill right for showing. Hey,
look I for showing no women gonna get it there, man, women,
next contract might be a billion.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
If he can say the thing you look his height
is always like because there ain't nothing he can't do, man,
that joke.
Speaker 6 (20:37):
He can handle the ball. He's sham guarding people.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
He going behind the back and heavy pulling up from
twenty eight obviously just put it on the forefeit pretty
had the rim he barely don't he barely jumping and
dunking on people eating.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Man, listen, old Joe eyes that big is not supposed
to be moving like that.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Yeah, no, yeah, yeah, he hold on to be that
tall Joe. He twitched his head.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Yeah, he twitched.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
I'm talking about like like Kevin.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
Durant eighty five inches taller than kd.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Hey, come up, hey, come on down here to the
top of the key. Let me show you something real quick.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Hey, listen. So now a big guy when we I
can't even say a big guy his side because ain't
many people his size, but a big guy who has
to guard him. Man, he has no chance watching them
how they play. Now he's gotten stronger, his mentality is different.
He going at his man. Bro He Hey, all right,
san Antonio like five and oh oh yeah, I got
(21:30):
a nice squad. They got Dylan Harper coming off the bench.
They got Castle, they got Vassal, they got a nice squads.
Ain't even playing Fox, ain't even playing what we do now.
You you know, we like to talk. You know in basketball,
they you know, you can't really lose your spot off
of injury, but you can Fox ain't play and he
got a max deal. Joe. That's what I'm saying. That's
(21:52):
what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. It's different. It's different, man,
it's different. But they got a good problem on their
head after you do. Oh yo, Terry Rojer Joe.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Terry Rogier will not be paid while on leave in
absence after the rest on federal charges related to the
gambling scheme. Rogier's salary, which is about twenty six point
six million this season paid in installments, will be held
in that scrow.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
If Rogier is.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Cleared and allowed to return the NBA, which placed him
on leave hours after his October twenty third arrest, he
will receive the hell payments in full.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Excuse me.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Chauncey Billups will also not be paid while on leave.
Billups salary seven million this season and won't be won't
be held in that scrow.
Speaker 6 (22:33):
He'll just lose it until the outcome of the FBI case.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Joe, When the story wrote, what were your initial thoughts?
Speaker 2 (22:41):
Man? It was hard for me to believe what you
know with Chauncey because I know him to a degree.
You know, I know the same people, same circle. You know,
Me and t Lou good friends. When Tlu play here
in Atlanta with me, he was a point guard hend
in Atlanta when I first got here. Oh yo, for
like three years. That's my man. We used to hang out.
(23:03):
Uh and to to see all this come come out,
I'm like, you know, it's just it's it's unfortunate, bro.
But if it's true, Yeah, I agree with the harsh penalties. Man,
there's nowhere. There's nowhere in the game, whether it's Rosier
or whether it's Billups. You know, if you've been on
the games, bro, if you're doing the stuff they say
you're doing, or cheating people, cheating, cheating your partners in them,
(23:27):
might they money? Yeah? Man, I mean I don't know
what's the maximum fine you can get or what's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Joe, I ain't. I ain't never, I ain't never been
like that, guys. I couldn't. I couldn't. I couldn't. It's tough,
that's you know, it's it's it's hard watching it unfold
because I'm like, you're saying, you got X ray you
you you got these rig poker games, X ray tables,
X ray.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Glass down, Joe, So now I can see what you got.
So I'm betting, they say, guys betting a hundred blinds

somebody thinking they got to win the hand, like, oh yeah, yeah,
I got a pair of keys, I got to rockets
some fund here.
Speaker 2 (24:46):

what people with people understanding. Right when you in with
them people like that, when you in with them people
and it gets to that point where you're the one
in the clients to use.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Illegal stuff to get them.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
But you in over your head, man, you really ain't
got no choice at that point, No, honestly, So the
only way out is for it coming to an end
like this.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
This, This is the best thing to happen.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Honestly, once you in over your head like that, I
don't talk.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
That's why you got to be and they got you.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
They got you as you.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Gotta be careful who you talk to.

I had a dude asked me, said, man, look at man,
I want to get this car. I'll give you the
cash you gonna pay for a put in your name.
When he gets squeezed, what are you gonna do?
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Right, you know what he's gonna do. I'm good, cool, Yeah,
but look, I ain't no gambling like that. Like I
like the friendly competition gambling. But man, when it gets
to the point to where you you you having the
old people aren't no.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
And and I read the paper.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
They said.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Rogier had a lean on his house. How you gonna
lean on your house? And they say, at this point
in time, you you had made one hundred and sixty
nine million dollars in an NBA salary. But you gotta
lean on your property. M you can't lean on nothing.
You better lean on this coffee table because they got
books up on it. That's the only thing you can
lean on. They're gonna fall, but you ain't.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Put no leading.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Come on, man, man, listen. The NBA did an investigation.
Now what we don't know, they said, But like Adam
Silver said, they don't have subpoena power. They don't have
the ability to threaten somebody to send you away for
a long period of time.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
You got a wife, you got kids.
Speaker 1 (27:11):

Speaker 1 (27:32):
I don't know how you got I know you in
the NBA, but we might think you got some of
this money by ill God means, so we gonna seize it.
We're gonna put a freeze on all of it. And
they can do it. Yeah, they're the government.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Absolutely absolutely, they can do what they want to do.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yeah. Man, it's just the timing of all of it
is is kind of crazy too. It's like right before
the season. It's like, hold on, I don't know. I
don't know, man, I got that.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Was the best time to do it, when you got
everybody attention. When can you get everybody attention during the season.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
When everybody watching, everybody tune?
Speaker 1 (28:12):
What do you think the sports is so popular? Football
is so popular they think, oh, that's my team. They
betting on these games.
Speaker 6 (28:19):
I got a vest of the interest.
Speaker 1 (28:21):

bit and Joe, you watch something a little bit more
closely when you got a best invested interest in it,
don't you? Yeah, be it your fantasy. Be it I'm
betting of you know, uh, who gonna win? How many catches,
how many yards, how many touchdowns, how many sacks, X,
Y and Z.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
I'm watching this.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Thing a little bit more closely because I got money
on it.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
And look, it's hard for you to enjoy the game
when you got money on it.

like I'm talking about, for negotiation purposes, at the end
of the season, he.
Speaker 1 (50:12):

that doesn't matter all start out, hes gonna get what
he wants.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
Joe, Yeah, yeah, yeah, nah. Look this is though, Austin reeve,
this is impressive of what he's doing out.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
I just saw that you saw you saw you saw
the last shot at just shot.
Speaker 4 (50:26):
Joe who Austin reed.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Now he didn't you know what it's like tonight. He
didn't have a great shooting. Now he was nine for
twenty four, but he had twenty eight points. But he
had sixteen or six. Hey, he was twenty three shot.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
Now he not twenty four because he made the last shot.
Speaker 4 (50:45):
Yeah, he won the game for him with six point
six secs.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
But my thing is, if your shot ain't if your
shot ain't falling me in, can you do something else
that the man out here he dropped sixteen dimes. You
know That's why I those arcasts. Yeah, I tell a
lot of these young cats who want to improve on
that game. Man, you can't just be no score, brocause
if your shot ain't falling that night, what else can

Speaker 1 (51:10):
Sheldon Polpe said, I just read Alan Iverson's book and
iso you played in the league with him, How was
it seeing what he went through with the media, And
how did you feel when they changed the dress code
for the NBA.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
Man, I hated the change in the dress code. You know, Man,
we used to pull up to the plane I'm talking
about you get right off the bus, step right onto
the plane. You ain't have to do no security check.
They ain't do none of that. When I first came
to the league, you can wear your walm up like
and then all of a sudden, man, they were searching
favorite thing. Now you got to wear suit coat or
suit like. The change was. It was. It was pretty drastic, man,
(51:46):
But AI paved the way for all us, you know
what I mean, Like you can still see his imprint
in the league now, I mean in some of our megastars,
you know, like Shade, who was you know who looked
up the AI got the corn rolls, you know what
I mean. I mean like it's he left for He
left for me and a I A. I started with
the sleeve that guys ain't nothing. He I had this burst,
(52:07):
had a burser. That's why he wore the sleeve. Everybody
else got the sleeve over your cause they look cool. Yeah, yeah,
they don't know. He had he really had to have
surgery on his he did. He went, I had I
had elbow surgery too. He went to Andrews. Andrews down
in uh what, Birmingham, Alabama? BI. Yeah, Yeah, So Uh, yeah,
(52:30):
he changed. I mean tattoos. Everybody got tattoos.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
Now everybody got tattoos, chor rolls, the tattoos and dreads.
You got one. I'm trying to think. I'm trying to
think of a brother that don't have no tattoos. You
got chor rolls or dreads a lot, right.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Whatever, you got one another.
Speaker 1 (52:55):
But David Stern, Hey, David Stearn said, no, y'all live

I played U with AI and this the just the
All Star game. He came in. He had his dow
rag on, but he had to cut his hair and
nobody knew, so he took that doe rag off. We
wasn't crazy. He had a big split in between his
head from from wearingdom braids for so long. I couldn't
even believe. I'm like, man, this hate the dude. I
grew up watching what is happened?
Speaker 4 (53:31):
I saw that clip. Y'all was in the locker room.
Speaker 2 (53:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, clip it's uh but he
uh man, he's great dude. I met the dude.
Speaker 1 (53:40):

Speaker 2 (54:05):
Run away? I wish, I wish I would.
Speaker 3 (54:08):

Speaker 6 (55:26):
That boy ass up.
Speaker 3 (55:30):

Speaker 1 (56:32):
Uh play el Pray said, Joey, how was your male
experience during your recovery?
Speaker 2 (56:37):
What was the adjustments you.
Speaker 1 (56:38):
Had to make to incorporate yoga into the healing process. Well,
uh so when.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
I got I got is he asking how did I
get into yoga?
Speaker 6 (56:48):
Know how mind that you know you went through it
and everything.
Speaker 1 (56:51):
So how you get in great uh ingratiating yourself back
into the process.
Speaker 2 (56:56):
Oh well, I go to Uh. I go to yoga
three times a week because I'm trying to get that
range of motion back in my leg. So I let that.
I gotta let that heat penetrate it and uh loosen
it up. But I'll be back in bidding man, probably
by first of the year, meaning like I already got.
I'm at about one hundred and twenty five degrees. We
walk around at like one thirty one forty degrees, so
(57:19):
I'm at like one twenty five, so I'm close to normal.
So I think the yoga is definitely helping. Like I
got red light therapy and cryo therapy in my studio, ojo,
so I use it on the regular. Yeah, I ain't.
Speaker 4 (57:31):
Playing Hello on you got that in your house?
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Nah, I say that my yoga studio.
Speaker 6 (57:36):
Oh you got it in the yoga studio.

Yeah, yeah, I took.
Speaker 3 (57:40):
Jolly Joe, you got a little money.
Speaker 2 (57:42):
Look look look, hollo, chill out. So I took what
I used to do, and uh, when I played in
the NBA, I used to do the red light there,
but I used to do the cryo therapy. I just
took it into the yoga world. And you know, it's
just kind of worked for me. Okay, you got that,
you got that voo hag Come on, man, come, I
gotta get back right at.
Speaker 1 (58:01):
That cryoud man, that little two three, that little two
minutes that they a three. Yeah, you can you can
go a minute and a half, you can go to
two and a half.
Speaker 2 (58:12):
But like it's got different sins. But yes, the three minutes,
you do that three minute, I feel like you're in
there for fifteen Joe.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
I did. Let me tell you what I did I
did that. I did it twice. You know you aren't
supposed to do it once a day. I did it twice. Yeah,
Joe my one day. Yes, because you burned. No, it
burned calories.
Speaker 6 (58:31):
What I'm saying it was like I was, I was dehydrated.
Speaker 2 (58:37):
Yeah. What I'm saying is, so when you do cryo therapy,
all the blood rushes to the center of your chest.
All your blood rush to the center of your chest,
and it's like a workout.
Speaker 1 (58:48):
You burn, You can burn your body calories because it's
trying to heat up. That's why you burn more candies
in the winter than you do the summer, because your
body is trying. Your body is rushing so hard to
keep you warm. If you notice onhoe when people get cold,
what do they start doing shivering?
Speaker 6 (59:03):
That's your buyer trying to generate.
Speaker 2 (59:05):
Heat to warm you up. So that thing is minus
one eighty man, Yeah, that thing.
Speaker 1 (59:13):
I did it, like it ten o'clock, ten thirty, then
went back at like six. Never that j two one
three cent. Glad to finally catch you off. Law school
has been a lot of fun, but God has carried
