Iceland's Four-Day Workweek Is Working
Back in 2019, Iceland made a bold move: they shifted to a four-day workweek without cutting pay. Now, six years later, the results speak for themselves—90% of workers have made the switch, and they’re thriving. People report lower stress levels, better sleep, and more time for the things they love. Even better, productivity stayed the same or improved. Other countries are taking notice and considering similar changes.

Zelle Shuts Down Its App
Zelle is officially shutting down its standalone app. If you’ve been using it to transfer money, you’ll need to re-enroll through your bank or credit union to keep using the service. The move makes sense—only about 2% of Zelle transactions were happening through the app. The service itself isn’t going anywhere, just the app interface.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you
need to know for the day with Nina's what's trending?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Do you guys know the garlic bread theory?

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (00:05):
No. Garlic bread theory is if there's ever tension at
a dinner table, or if there's tension and you're going
to be having dinner, have garlic bread there so you can.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Go, who hats some garlic bread? Huh? Guys, yes, other
of them while they're arguing.

Speaker 4 (00:20):
Yeah, just serve somebody garlic bread whatever, Just show.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
It in someone's mouth so they'll stop arguing with someone.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
I'm gonna bring something to this thing that I'm going
to this weekend.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
It's like a wedding party, and my grandma's gonna be
there and just like the whole family.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Noticeell bring some garlic bread because that's gonna be No.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
You should, because how re searchers are saying that they
found that when garlic bread was present on tables there
was more peace. Really, so it must be something with
the garlic or the smell, because you know, anytime you
smell garlic cook and you're like.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Oh, you guys, taste so good, you just want to
eat all of it.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
But not too Bread will always make things better. So
garlic bread theory. Think about that next time you get
into an argument.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I like, I should keep that in.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
My pockets when I go out with the girls, because
there's always so many times, you know, I spell like Carly.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Hold that out of your back blockings.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
I just really went somewhere with that. So things are
going really well in Iceland.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Have you heard about this.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
So they've gone to the four day work week, and
it's been six years since they've done that, but things
are going so well. No surprise that people are doing great,
but also businesses are reporting there's been no dip whatsoever
in productivity and that their economy is doing well, so
much so that Spain and Portugal and Germany are also
looking to do this.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Spain is one of the places I want to live
at some point. Spain has sies.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Does I'm working for their work week.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
They see only trends in people being happier and less
stressed and more productivity.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Wild America will never do it. I guarantee that.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
For what reason.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
I kind of say that because I'm like all these
countries maybe like if the rest of the world is
doing it, will be like forced to.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
That would make America do it even less.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I was going to say, we're going to just go
the opposite the rest of the world.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
They're all lazy. This is the greatest country on earth.
We work very hard.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It's not funny.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
And lastly, if you are working hard and you got
to pass money back and forth between people, Zell is
making it difficult because they're shutting down.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Why I use that all the time?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
I do too, So the money transferring service is shutting down,
but you still are going to be able to use
it through certain banking providers, so through participating banks or
credit unions.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
So apparently nobody was actually using the app.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
I wasn't either. I used all through my bank. So
the app is going to go away. I don't care,
but it's still going to be there.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
That's well.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I just wanted you to know though, so you're prepared,
You're welcome. You didn't say thank you, but.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
I know it.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Zellhurst some money.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, that's what's trending.
