Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, and welcome to No Dunks presented by FanDuel. I'm
your host for today, Trey Kirby and joining me here
in the factory. It's Tass Mellis. Hi. Basketball, you were
good yesterday. Basketball, My good yesterday. We got the man
making the magic happen over there behind the boards. It's JD.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Hello, Ugh, JD.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Hello to you. No skeets today, But we do have
a very special guest, perhaps our most frequent guest. When
you factor in No Buffs, you know him from everything.
It's Jason Concepsia, almost a big dog.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Great to be here. Basketball was almost too bountiful last night.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
That was gonna be my first question for you. Were
there too many exciting games last night?
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Too many exciting games? I was.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
I tried to drill down. I'll watch in multiview occasionally,
you know, just kind of get a feel for what's
going on. But I tried to drill down on like
two games a night, and all of a sudden it
became clear that that's not gonna That wasn't gonna work.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Last night.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
You have to really drilled down on a multiple games.
It was crazy, crazy night.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, overtime, I felt like it was kind of becoming
a scourge to the NBA last night. I couldn't switch
over to other games when they were closed, because like, okay,
I gotta see what's ending up here with Wizards Pistons
before I can turn over to Calves Heat, and before
I can turn over to see Wemby just destroyed the
Chicago Bulls. It was a bumber to be able to
have to watch all this basketball to keep track of
(01:24):
all these things. But we'll start in. Miami Heat got
a midi from Himai Hakas Junior late in the fourth quarter,
forced overtime against the Cavaliers, and overtime it looked like
Mammy had Cleveland beat until Donovan Mitchell grabbed an offensive rebound,
hitting amazing three from the corner tie things up with
zero point four seconds left, just enough time for the
Heat to run a beauty sideline out of bounds play
(01:47):
for an alleyu to Andrew Wiggins for a buzzer beating dunk.
You think this was the game of the night, Jason's
kind of hard to tell.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
I don't think it's the game of the night, but
I think it's an incredible game. It's first of all,
Miami Heat, what what's going on?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Guy?
Speaker 1 (02:06):
What Miami?
Speaker 4 (02:10):
I actually do believe.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
In it because a lot of continuity on that team.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Eric Spolster obviously.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Best coach in the NBA, potentially best active coach, and
the strategy of just amping the pace, amping, amping it
way up seems very repeatable. Early on, I was like,
can this, you know, can this really work? But it's
they're doing it in a way where their defense is
(02:41):
coming along with it, their offenses UH is feasting on
the extra possessions, and they're just kind of blitzing teams
like it's in the the regular season. Teams aren't going
to be ready for it. And certainly, while it's a
talking point, you can tell at times where teams are
just like WHOA, Okay, we're still running. We're still going,
(03:03):
We're still going incredible. I do believe in it a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Do you guys believe in it?
Speaker 1 (03:08):
I'm trying not to, if I'm being honest with you,
I really I do very much want to call the
Heat frauds. But they had a great performance against the Trailblazers,
a good defense. They took it to the Cavs last night,
put up what they end up scoring one in overtime.
But still they were scoring very regularly, and like you're saying,
they're playing so fast, so they're doing it against good teams. Unfortunately,
(03:29):
I have to buy in at this point. What do
you think testing now?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I'm buying it. I think it's smart because they come
at you so many different ways. A guy can come
off the bench like Hima Hokis and just have that
single rule you mentioned him, the way he's able to
start possessions with that B line, gets into a spin
and scores, and so that's his role. That's what you
got to do. We're not even going to mention a
bunch of great scorers. I think last night, like Norman Powell,
(03:54):
what a steal that was in the offseason. Guy dropped
thirty three yesterday, No big deal, But I think he's
good enough to do that. I think Davion Mitchell is
underrated as their starting point guard just to get him
into stuff. So yeah, I'm buying it. Although I was
confused by Sam Merrill being on the floor guarding Andrew Wiggins.
I know we're getting into the nitty gritty, but Andrew
Wiggins gets behind Sam Merril. What about that? You got
(04:16):
lones of ball sitting on the floor, sitting on the bench.
Excuse me? Why not? Kenny Atkinson also was ejected from
this game, So maybe maybe that's why Johnny Bryant, I think,
who was the associate coach who's running things there was
the guy calling for Sam Merrill to stay on the floor.
I'm assuming because he also called the timeout when Evan
(04:37):
Mobley hit a three to tide this thing in overtime,
but they called the timeout right before it, So I'm
blaming Johnny Bryant for that one as well. Instead they
got instead, they got to go to the free throw line.
But anyways, it was it was madness last night in nybe.
I was trying the multiview, as you said, Jason, but
it was too hectic even to even do that. Yeah,
it just wait, I zoned it. I drilled down.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Did Yeah, if you want to get nitty gritty, why
are you not guarding the rim with point four seconds left?
That's not even very nitty.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
I don't think that one.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
That's kind of the only place he could really know.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
I know, Sam. I bet Sam wouldn't. Any other person
wouldn't have got caught just hanging out it as a
free throw line. Sam just literally, I mean he's still frozen.
I think he was just literally frozen when he got
that back pick. It was a good call, yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Mean, it was a beautiful play. I think afterwards Spolstra
gave Chris Quinn the credit, said, We've had this play
ready for four years. I didn't even have Andrew Wiggins
four years ago. So obviously it was for Jimmy Butler
way back when. But they said Chris Quinn came up
with it, so we let him diagrama and I mean
a perfect pass from you know, and if you want
to get quoted from Spoe, yeah, exactly. That's why. That's
(05:49):
why he's one of the best man. He empowers everybody,
not just his players, but also his assistant coaches. Kenny Atkinson,
you should be doing the same with Johnny Bryant. Hold
Johnny Bryant to a higher standard. Say he had a
taller guy at the ren put a taller guy at
the inbounds position. Either of those and the Calves probably
win this game. But on the other side of things,
(06:11):
four straight wins for Cleveland before last night's loss, do
you buy that the Calves are actually a threat in
the Eastern Conference, Because look, Jason, we know you're a
Knicks fan. These are two teams that could be buttoned heads.
How do you feel about these Calves?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
The Caves are obviously a threat in the East, the
kind of decimated and discombobulated East where it's unclear, you know,
after say top three, like who's really going to emerge
in what position. But Mitchell has been ridiculous, ridiculous in
(06:46):
this early part of the season, and they just like
have they have the continuity, they have a good coach,
they know how they play.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Mobile's getting.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Despite early season, Wabbles is getting better and better, and
they're a very good team. They're a very good team,
very dangerous with just can explode on you in a second.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
And Mitchell is a stud.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
He's a stud.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
He's so good.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
He has a stud I think that guy that you mentioned,
Evan Mobley, as he's getting better here is the key
to this team. He needs to be relied on way more.
They've got to go to him more. He looked good
in the end of these four quarters. He was awesome
hitting that three in the block. But it's all up
to using him in those clutch situations. Now, Darius Carland
(07:35):
got hurt in this game, he left, came back, then
he left again. It's that toe injury that he had
surgery on. It seems like that same thing that's going on.
Is that the factor at this point. I don't think
it's that important. I think it could be a bit
of a blessing. Give Mobiley the ball. I think he
needs it more.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
In funch time, I agree, give Mobley the ball more.
He's certainly showing that he's got more more tools that
he can go to just score on consistent basis, especially
like in the MIDI area. I will say, and you
mentioned it with Garland coming in and out, guys playing
(08:14):
big minutes in an overtime game. Obviously, the Knicks don't
have TIBs anymore. But one of the kind of undercurrents
that I really enjoyed, particularly last night, was just seeing
the enemies of the Knicks play a lot of minutes,
play a lot of guys a lot of minutes, Cade
Cunningham on the second night of a back to Baco
and going out there TIBs style. I enjoyed it, and
(08:38):
it listened that the regular season is attritional, and I
hope it attriates the other teams at.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Oh, You're getting into the tritty gritty. Who else do
you consider enemies of the Knicks right now?
Speaker 4 (08:54):
The Cavaliers and enemies of the Nicks.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
The Bucks or the enemies of the the Heat are
enemies of the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
The Detroit Pistons, who.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
You know, played us, played one of the one of
our really gave us like a signature playoff performance last year,
and are looking really dangerous, really good behind Cad Cunningham
taking a leap.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
They are.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
They're an enemy in the next and man did they
what a game they had last night as well.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
They've got a lot of enemies, probably because they're the
most despicable team in the history of the NBA, which
is the reason.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
I how about the Bulls, and the Bulls are enemies now.
They've shown themselves this season to be at enemy level.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
That's so nice to be back at enemy level one
and one on the season. We'll see how it transpires
for the rest of the year. But how are you
feeling about your Knicks? Mike Brown coming in the offense
is humming kind of right now. They are playing more guys. Yeah,
Josh Hart taking naked photos behind og In Andobi and
Mitch Robinson. All this weird stuff's going on. They seem
(10:07):
to have a lot of chemistry together.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Yeah, it's good. You can feel it kind of coming together.
Mike Brown wants them to make quick decisions, kind of
move the ball within the first second and a half
two seconds of getting in and it appears to be working.
Jalen Brunson's assists are ticking up, and the whole team
(10:32):
feels like it's beginning to kind of like understand where
they can get their shots in the flow of it.
You mentioned Josh Hart, who's six man, is kind of
the perfect role for him. Yeah, as much as Tom
Thibodeau loved just having him out there, he's currently out
there with with nerve damage but playing through it and
(10:53):
hitting shots and doing all the little things in the
perfect amount of minutes. I feel for his effect giveness.
And you mentioned it like you need depth to really
go deep into the into the into the season, into
the postseason and really kind of make an impact. And
the Knicks are steadily figuring out which guys can contribute
(11:18):
on that level. And it's good. It's it's been it's
been heartening. Four wins in a row.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Last week.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Inst the Net's not a team that you should crow
about beating but I'll do it anyway. Hardly an enemy, yeah,
not an enemy, but you enjoy beating them. I certainly
enjoy beating them, as I feel like in my head
they are. It wasn't that long ago that that players
were like, I want to go to New York, but
(11:46):
not the Knicks, and let's go to New Jersey. Excuse me,
let's go to Brooklyn and.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
To beat them. It still feels good.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Obviously they're trying to lose, but yeah, the Nick are
beginning to gel with the kind of philosophy of Mike Brown,
so you like to see that.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yeah, it was I feel like a little bit of
a wonky first two weeks. But now they looking good
and they look like they have changed from last year.
So good stuff from the heat and the calves. You said,
though maybe not the Game of the Night. I assume
you're talking about last night's other overtime thriller as Game
of the Night. Pistons rallied from eleven down with four
minutes left in regulation to force ot on a huge
(12:29):
corner three from Dannis Jenkins. Detroit wins in overtime. Kate
finishes with forty six points on forty five shots. This
was your game of the night, you think, Jason, it was.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Listen, I think entertainment wise, clearly heat Kevilie's was more entertaining,
But in terms of like a team gritting out a win,
this was my game of the night because I'm watching
this game and the Wizards were up a like ten
in the third quarter, and I saw flashed on the
(13:07):
screen Kate Cunningham twenty seven points, ten of thirty. When
I went, wait a second, Kate cunning has taking thirty
shots in the there's four minutes left of the third quarter.
Let me really drill down on this one and just
a gritty, like a real grit, like we could lay
(13:28):
down and lose this one. But Kate is just like, no,
we're gonna we're gonna win this game. I'm gonna I'm
gonna jack it up. I'm gonna play forty six minutes
or something on the second night of a back to back, and.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
We're gonna win this game. And they did it.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
And it showed me something about this Pistons team that
is like they are dogs. They're absolute dogs, scary team,
don't like them, they're an enemy, but really impressed by
their players.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
You got to be impressed by their players. As Trey manchined,
Dannis Jenkins, who I called Janis Denkins last week, by mistake,
hit that shot and that's why Kate was taking so
many shots. Ended up taking forty five shots in this game,
and everybody going to the WHOA, that's the first time
that someone's missed thirty shots in an NBA game since
(14:19):
Kobe and O two. Because Kate ended up fourteen of
forty five. But you gotta be that type of person
to take that many shots. That's a heart it is
to take that many shots. And he had to not
because he did not because Dannis Janis was playing, but
because he's also starting with Javonte Green, Ron Holland with
(14:40):
so many guys out, sar Thompson take a seat. But yeah,
that's why it was almost admirable to see the way
Kate played. It was Kobe like, I mean, they have
a bunch of dogs. They have that mentality and so
they are an enemy of the Knicks. I said yesterday, Jason,
I wanted to see them play each other Piston's Knicks
(15:02):
in an NBA Cup game because I thought that would
be a fun rematch of last year. Unfortunately it's not
happened until March. But the Knicks have to be a
little concerned with this team in the way they play.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Yeah, they match up really well against the Knicks. They
are extremely physical. They have the guys to just make
Jalen Brunson's life a living hell, and they don't. They
remind me of the Knicks from a couple of seasons ago,
where they have a ton of guys who just play
(15:37):
harder than everybody else. You can't out hard them and
they're not going to stop. You mentioned Kate, I mean
he had no legs, no legs, like very clearly no legs.
There's a reason why he had to take forty five
shots is because he was missing everything. But I mean
(16:00):
you mentioned the kind of like lack of scoring. But
Duran was good, Javonte Green was good, was okay, but
like not guys that you're like, okay, give them the
rock and let kid take a break. And he just
needed to keep digging, digging, digging, digging, digging. He was
(16:21):
like he missed nine three ye eighteen percent from three,
but he needed he needed to do that. It wasn't
just like a jacking it up. He needed to keep
digging like that, and so with a guy like that
as the backbone of your team, and you know Thompson there,
(16:44):
Duran's gonna be good. They're they're a scary team on
the rise.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Easily could have sat out after getting injured with four
minutes left and the fourth he went and helped out
to stop a great play Cam Whitmore. He fell to
the floor and he limps off as Cam Whitmore tries
to stand over him and tries to say, I just
scored on you, Kate. The guy's freaking injured. Man, you
(17:11):
don't got to stand over him, and he limps off
and he could have easily finished on the bench. But
he comes back in to help his team that didn't
have anybody. They didn't even have Carousel Vert to come
in and help who was hurt. So, yes, this this
team is scary. What Kate has grown into to lead
a bunch of guys that I didn't know their names
(17:31):
last week as a two way guy. Dannis Jenkins. I
can't help but say that name. It's so fun.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Clutch Dannis four threes in the fourth quarter. We did
call his game College Park Skyhawks versus Motor City Cruise
once upon a time.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
He is cruising man.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah, he had monster shots in this one, including the
one on the in the corner there where his like
his heel is a millimeter from being out of bounds.
He doesn't even expect him to catch the ball. He's
just like hanging out there. They chucked it over to him,
knocks it down dunk. Robinson made a big one in
overtime as well. I think admirable from kid to take
forty five shots, like it looks ridiculous, fourteen for forty five,
(18:09):
but it's like Dean Wady said, he's like, I'd rather
go over one hundred than over nine. Then never stops shooting.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
When they flashed that ten for thirty, with legitimately four
minutes to go in the third quarter, I thought, that
can't be right.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
No, that's not right. That's two games.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
She cannot be right. I will say, shouts to the Wizards.
They have some nice pieces. I watched them too much.
They'll get that second win.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
At some point.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Yeah, shouts the CJ McCollum. Forty two points. But then
seems to he seems to get old very suddenly in
every single game, and when this team figures out how
to throw Alex sar like good passes where he can score.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
They will go up below.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
They don't know how he showed George threw him a
crazy alley at one point in this one, just threw
it over the backboard.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Basically, Yes, Keishawn George knows how to shoot, does not
necessarily know how to throw the best passes. And you
could say that of a lot of their team. Chris
Middleton twenty six minutes. That's probably the altitude, the top
altitude of minutes for Chris Middleton for the season.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
But they have nice the Wizards.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
They are primed, in my opinion, with when a playmaker
arrives on that team.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Bub is good, Kispert.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Is they have a lot of guys that are like
you could see being impact players on good teams one day.
Kispert bub Star is legitimately good. Keishawn George, I think
Trey Johnson will be good when they gel a little
bit and they get somebody like they can just like
(19:51):
get guys the rock in their spots. I think they
can have a Pistons like turnaround one day, not today, but.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
No. But that's why it's good that they're actually still
losing these games because I'm with you. I feel like
they have all of the role pieces, they just don't
have the main piece yet. And once that main piece
is there, everything falls into place for Washington, because, yeah,
it's like if you're relying on CJ. McCollum, it's gonna
work until it doesn't work. If you're relying on Chris Middleton,
same sort of thing. And all the young guys are
(20:21):
gonna have their ups and their downs. But yeah, that
was a fun game. It's pretty funny. We were laughing like, yeah,
they got Wizards Pistons on Peacock tonight, and then it
was an awesome game, an awesome game that lasted forever
and ever. We got to move on to the Dallas Maverick.
Sham's reporting that the Mavericks and owner Patrick Dumont are
(20:41):
expected to fire general manager Nico Harrison at ten am
Central Time. That's thirty two minutes from now. They got
a meeting, sources tell Shams and ESPN's Tim McMahon, Jason,
are you surprised at all that the Master are saying
goodbye to Nico Harrison?
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Many mass fans of my life in the sense was
you got it? Now you come on, you guys are
look historically the worst offense. I don't think they are still,
but they were historically the worst offense for a few
days there. They it's been a disaster, and it just
felt like the vibes around the team you gotta it's
(21:23):
gotta go. I will say, I've never.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
Seen this where.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
They've given us like a time of execution, like we
know when to tune in to watch a guy get
from I've never seen this before.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
This is unprecedented. I don't remember it either, especially from
a fairly new ownership. I thought that they were getting
a bit of a lesh for Nico Harrison, especially after yesterday.
It felt like a moral victory the way they were
playing hard against the Milwaukee Bucks. You saw it an
incredible Cooper fly game. I thought, yeah, it was his
(22:01):
best game. They started Brandon Williams started a point guard.
Maybe they listened to no dunks. We talked about it yesterday.
They needed to play a better point guard. So that's
why I am surprised that being said from the fans perspective, Oh,
they wanted this firing real bad.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
They're like, this is too late. Eleven games. We've waited
long enough.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Well, PJ Washington went to the line and an attempt
to tie the game. First free throw, he hits it.
Second free throw, the arena is quiet, he misses, the
fans realize, oh, we're going to lose this game. Oh yeah,
let's just do it again. Fire Eco All of a sudden,
they just wanted it done and it Yes, the vibes
(22:47):
are just extremely poor. I'm just shocked it wasn't handed
down to Jason Kidd to be axed, even though he
got an extension that the vibes around the locker room. Yeah,
he in charge for so that's why I thought it
would be him rather than Nico.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Yeah, and like the players are having to answer questions
about fire Nico Chance in postgame afterwards, right like PJ.
Washington was asked about it, Daniel Gafford was asked about it,
and they're like, yeah, you do hear it. It kind
of wears on you a little bit. And that really
doesn't have anything to do with them. They're not the
ones who are choosing the players. So yeah, but the
way it went down last night, it was looking like
he was going to stick around, but then they blew
(23:26):
a lead. They blew a fourth quarter lead and literally fire.
Nico Chance may have had an effect on the game
and the loss with a PJ missing them at the
end there, but this is just like the biggest disaster
that could have possibly happened to a franchise that went
to the finals, what nineteen months ago. At this point, Jason,
(23:47):
what are you feeling about the Mavericks. I mean, obviously
this is not an unexpected move, but still pretty crazy
to fire your GM eleven games into the season.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
It's a historical disaster, like a history making sports disaster.
And I will say that it's a for MAVs fans.
It is the kind of it's a story that defies
like the cycle, the cycle of news. You know, usually
(24:21):
especially during the regular season. You know, stuff happens, guys
get traded, things happen, but it's like after a week
or two, it's done again. I have MAVs fans in
my life. They have never stopped talking about it. They
have never stopped ruining the trade, They've never stopped wishing
(24:42):
to go would get fired. They've never stopped talking about
all the ways that it's hurt team, that it's hurt
them emotionally. And that is I've never really encountered a
situation like that that's unique. You know, as a Knicks fan,
we've yeah, there's been a million things over the last
(25:03):
two decades where you're like, oh my god, that Barnianni trade,
the Mellow trade, the rayvend Felton gun trade, stuff, like
a million things. But after a while, it's kind of over,
you know, whether it's three weeks, a month, the whole
half of the season, but then it's over. This is
not going to be over anytime soon. MAVs fans will
(25:25):
not stop hurting about this.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Certainly.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
The Lakers are not helping things with the way they're playing,
and it's just that ab of the Lakers over kicking
their apparent coverage, as you know, as they're putting together
a season that's surprising, and the Dallas Mavericks just being
(25:50):
like a smoking crater with Clay being sent to the bench,
his shoulders slumped, Anthony Davis, you know, empty eyed from
the sideline and street closed, looking for anybody that can
give them five minutes at point guard.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
It's just back. It's yeah, terrible. They're never going to
give it up. I'm a Bulls fan. And they bowed
their GM's widow thirty years after the fact, and that
was after winning six championships, So I don't necessarily think
MAVs fans are going to be quite forgiving. I'm sure
(26:28):
you saw going around online last night the eighteen year
old who came and sat next to Patrick Dumont and
apparently his dad told him he had to apologize to
Patrick Dumont for flipping him off during opening for trading him.
So that must have been a very convincing conversation from
Nicholas Dickinson and Patrick Dumont. Maybe that kid gets hired
(26:51):
as GM going forward. He's like, you got any plans? Nick?
Speaker 2 (26:55):
It is? Is it within the fabric of every single
thing and in that arena though they have not stopped
talking about it. It just took them one missed free
throw to get back to it last night when PJ
Washington missed it. It is a part of them and
it's so it must be getting into Patrick Dumont's mind, culture, everything,
(27:19):
and he is a business person and so when they
made that purchase, business wasn't mine. And so now for
it to be it's nearly two years later since they
purchased the team, for it to be this part of
the culture that is a huge reason as to why
this is happening right now. I didn't expect it. I
don't know what's going to happen at that press conference.
(27:40):
Can you see anything that will happen at this press conference? Jason,
do do you see any prediction here that's going to happen?
It is on execution from the governor.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
I think if they have a I think if they
have some sort of like webcam in the room, camera
team in the room as Nico enters, sits down and
then Patrick fires him, I think that could help maybe
dispel some of the demons for for MAVs fans, don't
give them some sense of closure.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
But I don't really know.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
I don't really see anything. And I think what's really
notable too about these games, particularly last night when Cooper
You mentioned Cooper having his best game, and not only
his best game, but having some like moves where you're
like that will be on the career Cooper flag highlight reel,
like some of those spin moves down the stretch, Yeah,
(28:33):
big bucket on, big bucket on Yiannis to tie it.
I think.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Beautiful.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
And the way the crowd the bipolar news because the
crowd was packed house. They're going crazy for Cooper when
he's all the things, he'd gone crazy for the team,
and then as soon as it goes bad, that passion flips.
That's Those are fans that love their team and are
(29:04):
just extremely hurt. And I don't again, I don't think
that hurts going away anytime soon for years and years
and years.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
That's true. It's true. I was on their side. I thought,
Jason Kidd is calling plays for Cooper flag with a
couple of minutes left, he got a switch on Ryan Rollins.
Oh he's smaller than him. Yeah, maybe we should be
running more of that stuff. And then going into the
body of an all time greading anaesthetic Kopo with thirty
seconds left, I thought, this is it. They are turning
(29:33):
this thing around. It sure felt like they beat the
Wizards on Saturday that this was starting to happen. But no,
that was quick, and I guess Patrick Dumont had made
the decision before this game against the Milwaukee Bucks that
they were firing Nico Harrison didn't. It didn't result as
a because of a loss.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
There was a ton of reports yesterday from like Mark Stein,
Tim McMahon, Tim Cato basically everybody's saying, uh, the seed
is on fire right now. And then you know, they
got off to a lead and blew it and yeah,
and then Nikoline Dickerson sat down and said, you gotta go,
you gotta get rid of this.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Not to relitigate, but it is crazy as you start
to think about the details. They traded a generational guy
who's at worst the fourth best player in the NBA
for a injury riddled thirty two year old, and that
(30:30):
you're essentially marrying your team window to that, to that
aage profile, to that injury profile, pairing them with Kyrie,
a guy who's also struggled with injury throughout his career.
You're you essentially turn the team into a win now
team and you're not winning them no, and you, by
all appearances, you will not win now. Is now. There
(30:51):
is one hundred million dollars on the bench right that
will appear soon and the team will get better, But
it certainly does not seem like a team that you
can look at and think, Okay, we've got you know,
we can just assemble some pe. You don't have time
to assemble pieces. So it's a disaster. It's crazy, what
a disaster it is. It's insane.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Literally, Patrick Jamon Is like, yeah, we made a big
time mistake and it was nine months ago and we're
moving on. I wonder, like, well if they trade Anthony
Davis now, because Anthony Davis almost like a Nico Harrison guy, right, Like.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
Yeah, I think this is a precursor to a trade
of any Davis, right, because maybe Nico wasn't going to
do it. I don't think there was a world in
which Nico would agree to do it. So I think
I would expect clear the decks and let's rebuild around
Cooper fly. That just makes sense to do basketball wise.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yeah, that makes sense unless you're the guy who traded
for Anthony Davis, in which case you can't do it.
But that's just unbelievable and unbelievable ten month run of
things that have happened to the Dallas Mavericks. We had
a lot more stuff in here. We can get to
it really quickly. Regulation game, Desmond Baine hit a twenty
seven footer, longest buzzer beater in Magic history. Nobody cares anymore.
(32:07):
Rough start for the Magic, But you think they can
turn things around going forward here, Jason.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
I think they just need to figure out how to score.
I mean this is now a unique it's not a
unique take. Everything is too hard for them. If their
initial action does not result in a score, then they're
just kind of looking around, like, how do we do this?
How do we do this? How do we do this?
It feels like there's a level to be unlocked and
(32:35):
they have too much talent on that team to not
be better than they are. Yes brighter days, I would
expect to head for the magic or we might see
a seat heating up over there.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
Definitely true.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
It is so odd watching Pala bunkairen how talented he
is fly under the raid off for sure, but he
missed three free throws in the last twelve seconds of
this game, and he is just not morally, physically, mentally
all there. You could see him in press conferences the
day before leading into this game. He's just not right.
But the magic and shout out to Jamal Moseley and
we're naming coaches, were naming assistant coaches. But he had
(33:13):
two timeouts save for the end of this game, and
they came in handy for Desmond Bain, who might be
saving their freaking team after throwing the ball off and
Yeka Kanway spiked it off him out with this game
winning shot. I mean, the Blazers had an inbound alley
oop with ten seconds left in this game, and that
was awesome, But it's going to go under the Raider
and maybe Desmond Bain helped turn this thing around for
(33:34):
the Magic. As Jason said, they need to be able
to score, and they have so much talent on that
freaking team.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
There's a lot of joy in their faces when that
band shot went on. I think it was his first
made three of the game, but they were letting him
initiate a bunch of the offense down the stretch. So
maybe things change going forward, but they did basically blow
at nine point lead within a minute. Yeah, in the
fourth quarterback because it looked ugly as well. Another team
that blew a laid to Chicago balls. They got Don
(34:00):
Touretto in this one, too soon Wemby back to back threes.
Second one had Vooch stumbling and bumbling. How high on
your ballot would you have Victor wembin Yama in the
MVP race right now?
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Jay, Remember like sometime last week when I was like, oh,
they figured him out yepig.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
They figured it out and maybe not.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
Yeah, I would have him high up. It's absurd what
we're seeing. And he had some stuff against Vouch and
against against your bullsy in general, where you're just like, right,
what can you do when a seven foot five guy
pulls up in your face? What are you gonna do?
Speaker 1 (34:40):
What are you gonna do?
Speaker 3 (34:40):
But a seven foot five guy does like some steph
curry around the perimeter type, put you on skates stuff
and then pulls up. I don't know what you can
do about that. And that's when he had the slight
dip last week. Teams are putting smalls on. I'm kind
of meeting him early to try and get the ball
(35:01):
out of his hands and make him, you know, be
a playmaker. That kind of worked, get him in foul
trouble against the Lakers, that kind of worked. But the answer,
and I think he unleashed the answer against your team,
it was like more aggressive, take more shots, take more
shots deeper and spread it out like I'll be the
(35:21):
space maker. And that's it's terrifying watching him. I got
to see him in person last week, and it doesn't
you can't compute it. It doesn't make sense. It's crazy
to watch NBA players, the tallest people on earth react
to the height of a guy. You know, just be like, whoa,
look at the size of this guy.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
If he moves.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Around, it's it's unreal. I mean, what do you would
Where do you have him on your ballot? Uh?
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Like maybe third at the lowest. Like Sga is still
up there the thunder or rolling right now, he's scoring
thirty five every single night. Luca is in the and
then Wenby is right there. He's clearly the best defensive
player in the league. He's got this ninety five game
streak right now with a blocker more in a game,
and it was hilarious some of the blocks he had
against the Bulls, Like Vooch snuck in a floater on
(36:14):
him in the third quarter, so then he tried it
again into the fourth quarter and Wemby blocked it to
Atlanta pretty much, he just tossed it completely out. I
also think he shoots one hundred percent from three after
he blocks a shot, Like after he blocks a shot,
he's like, I'm gonna take a three on the next possession,
and it always goes in. And he blocks a lot
of shots, so it adds up. But yeah, that was
(36:36):
he just dominated, and that's the Bulls have lost three
straight games, and it's been Donovan Mitchell dominates the fourth
quarter against the Cads, Giannis dominates the fourth quarter against
the Bucks, and then Wemby last night. It turns out
you have to have a superstar on your team to
win these games. Good way to get it as drafting
number one. I don't know if the Bulls are gonna
get there anyways. That was cool to see from Wemby.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Yeah, those back to back threes that he hit with
a minute left, he just said his mind. He just
walked into one and then he made that that dribble
move as you're talking about Jason Deck. He just danced
with it. All right, I'm doing it again. Uh, and
I think one was off the block. You're you're totally
right about just the confidence in this guy. Once he
gets something going, it ain't fun. And there was that
(37:20):
same thing. I think it was the Bulls broadcasters who
were watching him stand beside Nikola Vucevic who were saying,
oh my god, he is large. Yeah, Booch looked tiny.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Took like a guard out there, and he's seven foot
to eighty or whatever size, he is hilarious, very fun.
What else do we got? Grayson Allen scored forty two
points last night? He had ten threes, completely completely overlooked.
Worst timing of all time to have forty two points
your career high. We had a million buzzer beaters, overtime games,
(37:54):
classic moments, Nico Harrison fired, and Grayson Allen's just like, yeah, man,
I made ten threes. Beat Crachi career high twenty eight points.
Also bad timing, Jason. We got to ask everybody, do
you respect the NBA Cup? Year three?
Speaker 3 (38:07):
Here, I'm having fun. Yeah, I'm having fun. I do
respect it. I I not ironically would love the Knicks
to win it starting off with the loss against your
sure gotta well that's not a great way to do it.
But but I do like it. I have some tweaks
that I would love. I think it's a little too early.
(38:28):
I think it pops up maybe two weeks too early.
Let people settle into the regular season, then kind of
like promote, promote, promote Cup, and then have it pop
up a little later. I feel like, but yes, I
semi respect it now, and your.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Respect a lot more if the Knicks bring it home I.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
One hundred would respect it. Then it's legit. Then I'm like,
you know, what does hold on? I've come around this
big time.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
Actually, wait a second, I'm having fun. That's all it's about,
as Jason. Yeah, that's all. That's what we're here for.
We're here for November and December fun when watching NBA basketball,
and it's become more fun. Some people hate the courts.
I get it. They're a little egregious, they're a little much.
But we're all having fun watching November December games.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
I'm having fun. Yeah, also having fun with Survivor forty nine.
Who do you like this season?
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Jason?
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Oh my god. Wow, you know what.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
I don't know that there is a leader to emerge
yet for me, but I will say it's been a
whenever this is like a Survivor tell that things that
you're going to watch an episode that maybe is not
like the best episode of Survivor. Whenever something like the
(39:47):
sea snake bite happens where it's like not necessarily in
the flow of the game, and of course the the
show has to cover it, but then they keep covering
it like it goes you know, they're spending too long
and something like that that's how you know, Like, Okay,
not a lot happened gameplay wise, but gameplay is starting
to happen now as the teams have merged. I think
(40:08):
I'm feeling good now after last episode where you started
to see machinations, people playing in a way that feels
tactical and strategic. It's not just making a move to
make a big move, but it's making a big move
to try and do something. I'm not a fan of
(40:30):
three tribes, and that makes the early part of Survivor
tough for me. I feel like, and it happened this season,
what ends up happening is one team just gets dog walked,
one tribe just gets dog walked, and it's not I
don't think the most compelling kind of Survivor. I want
(40:50):
to see more back and forth. So now that we're
in a more settled state of the game, I like it.
As for frontrunners, I don't know that I have anybody yet.
What do you guys think?
Speaker 1 (41:07):
I like Sophie b but that's just because I picked
her preseason and she seems to be doing okay so far.
But I'm with you, it doesn't feel like we have
necessarily the winner. Edit out there yet, or somebody that
you think is going to absolutely be the victor, the
sole survivor at the end, but you're totally right. The
three tribes makes for pre merged can sometimes be a
(41:27):
bit of a snoozer, but it's a great time to
get in. Now we got to the merge. This is
like we've moved on from the group stage of the
Cup to the knockout rounds. It's a lot more exciting.
Last thing I want to ask you about, Jason, tell
us a little bit about Offside, your new venture.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Offside is a sports app, a social media sports app
that I'm consulting for that I'm helping, you know, create
along with some other creators.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
And the goal is to just make.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Kind of the to kind of unify some of the
fragmented experience around following sports. You know, I think we've
all had that thing where it's like a game just
ended and maybe you're out to dinner and you couldn't
see it, and so you want to see the highlights,
but you got to wait for the highlights to come up,
and the gamer is not up, and you're trying to
find the stats but they're not posted yet, and you
(42:22):
want to maybe you'd love if one of your YouTube
people that you follow Team Central YouTube people like would
put up something, but it's not up yet. How do
you go one place to find all the things that
you want to find out about games? That just ended
about about upcoming games. It's that's what Offside seeks to
do to make it easier for creators to create stuff
(42:44):
and make it easier for fans of teams to find
the stuff that they need.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
Yeah, and last night was the night to do it
and the breakdown.
Speaker 4 (42:51):
And last night was the night.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
Last that was the night. Yeah, Andrew Wigan's Allie was
broken down by mode to Quielle, frame by frame, step
by step, and that's the thing that people need more of.
I think if Alex Caruso knew of Offside, or if
he knows about Side, he would celebrate it because he
was the guy that said last year people just need to,
you know, appreciate basketball again. And that's what these plays are,
(43:14):
That's what it's about. It was fun.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
Yeah, you got some great names working alongside you too.
Kofe's there, mo like said Anthony or Wyn. I'm sure
Kirk serious face, Kirk Henderson is going to be going
nuts with all the news. Oh yeah, he's gonna be
big mad. Gonna be big mad. That's join offside right
as the handle. Yes on socials, Jason, thanks so much
for joining us, man, this is really fun. Good to
(43:36):
talk hoops with you.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
Thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 2 (43:41):
Take it easy.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
All right, we're gonna play a short round to say
what after the break, But first, ads.
Speaker 2 (43:48):

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Back with No Dunks. It was fun talking to Jason
about all that ball all that ball breaking news. We're
eight minutes from the final meeting of Nico Harrison's Dallas tenure. Yeah,
I was gonna make the call. I thought about texting
everybody here and saying, should we just drop say what
and just watch this Nico Harrison press conference live here
(45:44):
on No Dunks. I mean, we will probably be reporting
on it yesterday, but first we got to get to that.
Say what, because it is a classic No Dunks. Let's
get to it, SA, Say what is a segment where
(46:06):
we will recite a conversation that two NBA broadcasters had,
or maybe they didn't. We might be making it up.
So Trey, you are going to tell j D and
I who will be acting these out if it's real
or not. Our first one is the Pelicans Joel Myers
and Antonio Daniels. They're playing the Charlotte Hornets in this
(46:28):
particular scenario. I will be Joel Myers and j D
will be Antonio Daniels. Yeah, he's playing high percentage above
the rim. He's got thirteen points.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
So that's his sixth dunk.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
He's five of six, make it six of seven overall.
Speaker 4 (46:53):
Spilled some ice on the floor.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
M Spillage is better than shrinkage. Three point game, minute
thirty five to play. Where did that come from? Where
did that come from? What does that have to do
with setting you up? I'm setting you up? What does
that have to do with anything? It's just.
Speaker 4 (47:19):
You've got some serious issues.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Man, Pels only down by three, and it's been a
strange third quarter. They got smoke to start the third.
All right, who's the guilty party over there? Those guys
are having too much fun. Look at that group, oh man,
the guys that had the spillage.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
You know what, I'm not falling for your banana and
the tailpipe, Joel, I'm not falling for this.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
I'm not falling for this. Is that a skins and
shirts game coming up? No, it's not.
Speaker 4 (47:53):
Nobody plays shirts and skins anymore, Joel.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
Fifty seconds left in the third you and your.
Speaker 4 (48:01):
Games with doctor Nay Smith. Those games don't happen anymore.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
Trey Man and scene. That's the end of a conversation
between Joel Myers and Antonio Daniels during a Pelican's broadcast
where there was some spillage or some shrinkage, depending on
how you look at it. What do you think trade
did that actually happened to actually happen during a game? Man?
Speaker 1 (48:23):
I was convinced it was real all the way up
until banana and the tailpipe, and it went in the
shirts and skins as well. There's a lot, it's a
lot to throw against the wall. But these guys are
pretty funny together. Antonio Daniels to me is like, I
don't know if this is fake, but he's like my
favorite probably my favorite color guy to listen to. I
just love the I love the way broadcasts and he's
(48:44):
a great combo with Joel Myers. I'll say this one's real.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
Is it real?
Speaker 1 (48:48):
JD?
Speaker 4 (48:50):
Is it real? Yes?
Speaker 2 (48:53):
Yes, it's real. You call it, You called it. Let's
hear the actual conversation between Joe and Antonio Daniels. Yeah,
he's playing high percentage above the rim. He's got thirteen points.
Speaker 4 (49:05):
That's a six.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
Time is five of SiGe making six is seven overall.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
Spill some ice on the floor.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
M spillage is better than shrinkage. Three point game met
at thirty five to play?
Speaker 4 (49:23):
Where did that come from?
Speaker 3 (49:25):
Where did that come from?
Speaker 1 (49:27):
What does that happen to?
Speaker 2 (49:28):
I'm I'm setting you up. I'm setting up.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
What does it have to do with anything?
Speaker 4 (49:34):
It's just you got you got some serious issues, all right?
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Who's the goalty party over there? Those guys are having
too much fun. Look at that group.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
Oh man, oh man, they look like they're they're in
the gym a lot playing pick up.
Speaker 2 (49:53):
Those four guys have the spillage.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
Well, I'm not falling for your banana and tail my
right now to him, I'm not.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
I'm not falling for this.
Speaker 2 (49:59):
Fine, I don't call it skins and shirts game coming up.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
No, it was not. Nobody put scans anymore, Joe, ninety
seconds left in the thirty you and your games. But
doctor NASONI don't don't happen anymore.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
Yeah, it is surprising when you hear about it. Even
though I edited this thing out, it was just so
good we did it, I think, which what played a
part in you being skeptical if they jumped to the
tailpipe and banana in the tail pipe was that we
cut out like twenty minutes in the middle. So it
did jump real quickly to shirts and skins. And yes
(50:33):
we had to we had to make it a little shorter,
but you're right, Antonio Daniels, it was just on point.
Joel Myers. I didn't drop into the deep voice, Jol Myers.
Speaker 1 (50:43):
But there's a perfect matches I think for doing a
Joel Myers Antonio Daniels booth. Between between both your voices,
they sound very very similar to too Far Up. I
also think Antonio Daniels is right, nobody plays shirts and skins.
I'll occasionally play a pickup game wearing no shirt and
people hate it. Nobody wants to be here and I'm
(51:05):
running around there with no shirt off. I don't know
why it's helpful. Yeah, yeah, you're slippery. I mean I'm sweaty,
so you just burning off guys. That's a good one.
I thought I remember the spillage versus shrinkage part, but
no that it just keeps going.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
It did fly under the radar a little bit thanks
to Sheehan Paris hit me up on the IG. So
hit us up on No Dunk's Good one Instagram account.
Anytime you find something that is hilarious like that. All right,
our next one here and our last one. We're going
to make this a quick one. This is the Hawks,
Bubb Wrathman and Dominique Wilkins. So this is Hawks versus Thunder.
(51:43):
I'm Bob Rathman. JD is the Legend, Dominique Wilkins two.
And it is left in the game. Quinn Snyder is
clearing the bench. Caleb Houston making his season debut for
the Hawks.
Speaker 4 (51:55):
We haven't seen him play yet, but I know, but
I know he can't shoot.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Well, that was a type on my part. He can't shoot.
That's my bib can't shoot. Yeah, that's my that's my mistake.
Let me redo it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:12):
OK.
Speaker 4 (52:13):
We haven't seen him play yet, but I know he
can shoot.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
We'll see if Quinn Snyder can set up a three
point shot for him. Mick, do coaches design plays for
players in garbage time?
Speaker 4 (52:25):
I couldn't tell you, Bob, I never played in garbage time.
I know he can really shoot.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Caleb Houston joins Jacob Toppin. No type other thanky, Yeah,
calebhughs enjoyed Jacob Toppin and Fley Dante, Keaton, Wallace and
Viet Crachi on the floor.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
You know, Bob, I think Quinn should set him up
for a shot.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
Yes, Nick, I agree. Here's Wallace drives inside, tries to
throw it up with so many bodies around him, He's blocked,
ball is out of bounce.
Speaker 4 (52:58):
That defense really shrunk around him, Bob.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
It was shrinking quickly.
Speaker 4 (53:06):
Have you seen the show shrinking?
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Bob shrinking? Did you mean shrinkage? That's not a show, Bob. Oh,
you're right, Brooks. Barnheiser is going to the line for
two Barnheiser is really big, Nick, How is your throat?
You know you can shut off your mic when you
(53:28):
have to cough. The button is not working. That's why
I've been holding my farts all game. And seen man,
did that conversation between Bob Rathman and Dominique Wilkins actually happen?
Or or my typos? And this whole script fabricated?
Speaker 1 (53:50):
I I no. On one hand, I believe that Dominique
Wilkins could be coughing through a broadcast. Yeah hear, I'm
clear his throat from time to time, also repeating himself
about Caleb Houston. Believable to me. But what a guy
like Tom Wilkins say he's holding in his farts? I think, Yes,
(54:11):
this one's real?
Speaker 2 (54:12):
Is it real? JD?
Speaker 1 (54:15):
I got you the farts.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
I was surprised.
Speaker 1 (54:21):
Now.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
I did throw in all of those throats clearing moments
because Dominique has been doing that this year. We mentioned
it actually on an earlier show. But then we did
a call back with the shrinking shrinkage. I thought that
was a bit of a reveal.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
Yeah, but it's the right generations right to be to
re referening shrinkage.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
Pretty funny the details.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
I didn't I didn't know to expect such detailed work
getting the coughs in there, because that's sold me.
Speaker 2 (54:52):
It was all the cops, very very funny. All right,
that our fun fun segment here, Just a quick one,
just a quickie, good, just quick yeah, good. It works
out perfectly with all this news. We got to get
to watching the Nico Harrison press conference immediately after this game,
but first let's get to our pick them.
Speaker 1 (55:12):
Yeah, none of to loss last night, Tassy. I was
with you on the Bucks. They were minus two and
a half point favorites.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
They won.
Speaker 1 (55:23):
The Milwaukee Bucks did win in the Nico h Harrison
retirement match, but they only won by two points. And
if I'm being honest, yeah, Jannis had that dunk like
two thirds of the way through the fourth quarter where
he missed the shot from the top, followed his shot
grabs the boards, went for a big jam and missed it.
(55:43):
That's what I blame. Oh really, yeah, because they had
a lot of momentum right then. I feel like if
he throws that down, it was maybe it was maybe
like a five point game at that point. That would
have put him up seven. I think if I don't
know if that's exactly right, but around there and I
think if he throws down that dunk, think really quiets
the crowd. Maybe the Bucks go on to win this
(56:04):
by a more significant margin than they did and end
up being a momentum play the other way for the Mavericks.
The fire Nico chance got to PJ Washington.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
That two and a half point line was ridiculous, only
covered by a weird PJ. Washington foul and going to
the free throw line to hit that extra free throw.
It shouldn't have even been a foul. That's why this
line it swung a little bit. We had it written
as a closer line than two points. But yeah, when
Yannis is scoring fifteen to the of his thirty points
(56:37):
in the fourth courter, I thought it was over. Out
here they come, they're rolling, but the maps this was Honestly,
I know it was lost, but it felt like the
best game of season. I thought Nico would get another day,
but nope, it's all over. So we got a big
line tonight, Yeah, really big line. We don't use these
quite often. Thunder at home to the Golden State Warriors
have a seven and a half point favorite, and I
(57:00):
guess I'm going to continue my terrible month. I'm taking
the Warriors thinking that they'll keep it close. Steph Curry
definitely planning on being back finally after that illness to
play the Thunder, who I assume will just keep them
somewhat close. The Warriors will keep them somewhat close in
a seven point game, but you guys feel the Thunder.
(57:21):
Ewn Skeets are taking the Thunder to win by eight more.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
Yeah, Thunder have started winning some games by big margins lately,
and the Warriors are looking a little rickety to me.
They haven't had a very good win in like the
past couple of weeks. The first week of the season
was their biggest week so far in my book. But
that just kind of means they need to perform. So
(57:46):
we'll see. We'll see what we get from Golden State.
But I'm confident. Okay, so you can win this by
ten points or whatever. They only need to win by
eight for a win. For me and Skeets, we're both
at four and two. Task it at zero to six
right now. It's still it's still early. Man's sort of
the second week and a half into the pick up
right now. Yeah, I still think there's time to come back.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
Thanks man, you're welcome.
Speaker 1 (58:10):
You're welcome. We got the full squad back in the factory.
Tomorrow is going to be another busy Wednesday. No dunks
ten a m. Eastern, Bawls are back on playback three
pm Eastern, and we got Survivor tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
Yeah, yeah, we'll be jumping on playback tomorrow night too,
right for a little bit of fun because there's some
great games. There's a playback organized. Hey, let's make games
accessible and affordable going on tomorrow night, so we'll get
to that as well.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
Oh yeah, it's their big day what they call it.
Speaker 2 (58:46):
But it's a big day.
Speaker 1 (58:47):
Yeah. I forgot to get the get the games out,
that's what the people are saying, get the games out.
Five straight losses for the Clippers, I believe after the
loss of the Hawks last night. Nonetheless, Clipper bros, have
you heard here, have a great time turn up.
Speaker 3 (59:02):
Love you guys, awesome.
Speaker 2 (59:03):
Thanks for joining us. And remember, fortune favors the bold,
in the words of Nico Harrison. Sometimes sometimes I guess
that's true, Nico. Sometimes fortune does not favor the bold,
unfortunately for Nico.
Speaker 1 (59:18):
Unfortunately, embrace the day. People
