Speaker 1 (00:05):
Good morning, sweetl and welcome to the No Dunks Podcast,

This is the Drop. I'm Jay Skeith here in the
Classic Factory and alongside me as always tas.

Speaker 2 (00:19):

Next to him, it's my top shot boy, Trey Kirby, Hey,

Five star ratings and reviews. TK looking good in the
No Dunk's crew neck available at No dunks dot com.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
So soft, Laura couldn't stop feeling my pext o. Whoa,
I'm gonna steal that, she said.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
It is soft. Get it very soft so you can
get that in a crew neck. You can get that
in a T shirt. Go to a No dunks dot com.
The problem with that though, so soft, it's so white,
so nice. I don't want to wash it. I just
never want to wash it. Be careful what you eat
when you're wearing. That's true. On today's show. We got

(01:12):
a lot to do here we're gonna hand out some
one month in awards, MVP, m I P, Biggest Surprises
and so on. Task. You got a batch of Worst
of the Week nominees, solid ones good, and we're gonna
end with some rapid fire fun go whoa boy and
pick them and all that. But first, I had some
news yesterday amidst a rough four and eleven start Hornet

(01:35):
star guard LaMelo Ball has grown increasingly frustrated with the
organization and is open to a trade. This is reporting
done by Yahoo Sports our guy Kelly Eco. He was
the first on the scene with this. Now I will
say LaMelo Ball retweeted that news yesterday with a clown emoji.

(01:56):
I don't know, buddy, but here we are. LaMelo Ball
maybe open to a trade away from the Hornets, but
when you read the actual article, maybe it's the Hornets
are also open to the idea of trading LaMelo Ball.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I don't think one team trades for LaMelo Ball right now,
considering he's got three more years after this one under
contract between forty and forty six million. Considering he's only
played in fifty eight percent of possible games. I just
don't get what LaMelo Ball wants. He wants a winning team.
I guess they had a winning team once in his

(02:31):
five years in his career, and it was similar to
what they have now. Miles Bridges was the leading score
just like they have right now. Gordon Hayward was on
their team. The token white guy. They've got one right
now in Conk Nipple, who's really really good. Yeah, and
I think they're playing more fun basketball. I think they're
moving a lot more that Konk Nipple is setting a
lot of screens. Their guards are setting so many screens.
Their guards are setting over seven hundred screens or have

(02:53):
set over seven hundred screens this season. The next highest
team is three hundred and thirty eight a couple of
days ago. That's from all NBA Passe. It's a great
stat of how much fun they're having. They're actually nine
points better per hundred persentsion possessions than last season. Offensively,
what Doesamelo Ball want? He just wants to shoot. I
don't think anybody really wants to say, hey, we want

(03:15):
that guy on our team. I just saw the Reddit
comment that said LaMelo plays basketball like he has air
pods in and I think that's kind of what it is.
I mean, he wants to come down, fly down the
court and just shoot. I think again, his team is better.
I just don't personally get it.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
From the article from Kelly, it says quote league sources
say the front office this is Charlotte is increasingly hesitant
about cementing LaMelo Ball as a long term foundational piece,
and they've become disillusioned with the twenty four year old
end quote on that, TK, do you agree with Trey
that no team would really want to trade for LaMelo Ball?
And what are your thoughts on him maybe being frustrated

(03:52):
them being frustrated with him.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
A team would absolutely trade for LaMelo. He's only twenty four.
He's a really good player still, He's just not a
winning player point in his career. He has been back
on that team with a Gordon Hayward. They just don't
have any bets really to help out. He is an
entertaining player as well, and he's super talented. It would
have to be a team that trusts that they can
keep him healthy because I think his right ankle is

(04:14):
pretty bad. And yeah, he seems to give him problems
time and time again. He's played thirty six twenty two
and forty seven games the last three seasons. Has been
in and out of the lineup this year. But I
don't know. If you're the Heat and you're like, we
can keep him healthy, this is a by low candidate.
I actually think because he is on a contract thirty seven,
forty forty three, forty six through twenty twenty nine, you're

(04:36):
going to get him through his prime. If you're confident
you can keep him on the court, you might be
getting a good deal. Right he may need a change
of scenery. It would be good actually for the Hornets.
I kind of think to trade LaMelo Ball. They've got
so many picks coming up.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
The Hornets.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Do they have their pick and the Orlando pick this year,
then they could have their pick and at least one
other pick in the twenty seven, twenty eight, and twenty
nine drafts. Not to mention, they got young guys that
are performing already in Knips and Calk. Brenner see on
James is at least a rotation level player. It seems
like Brandon Miller also ever healthy. They need to get
that guy back on the court. Maybe they need to

(05:13):
invest in a better training staff to get their guys
to be able to play. But the unreliability of LaMelo
means the trade packages coming back won't be all that interesting,
I don't think, and they probably won't be where the
Hornets want them to be. But since they have so
many picks, they don't necessarily need to take stuff back
quite as much. They've got a pretty decent warchest of

(05:35):
assets going forward. So if they decide we would rather
spend the forty million dollars on a couple of veterans
who can help our team out and help our younger
young guys, I think that's fine. But right now it
just seems to be a lot of frustration because the
team might be better, they might be a little bit
more fun, but they still think.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah. The timing of this report is not surprising if
you watch the last game where they basically bench Mellow
down the stretch in the loss to the Indiana Pacers,
who at that point had one way, you know, not
a juggernaut of a team because they've had so many injuries.
But LaMelo was bench for like the final four to
thirty of a some what close game. He finished with
eighteen points, He shot brutal five to twenty one, He

(06:11):
had six turnovers, He only played twenty seven minutes. This
season's been very bad for him. His efficiency is in
the gutter. Was never all that good to begin with.
But I think he's shooting like sub thirty nine percent
from the floor, sub thirty percent from three. But he
is still a draw, He's still a playmaker. He has
his style, but you guys said it man the part
where he just can't stay healthy. And he's also plays

(06:34):
the league's probably most crowded position. There's a lot of
good teams with a lot of good point guards, so
there's not that many hypothetical teams I think that would
even want a trade for him because they don't maybe
need him. You don't think there are teams. Do you
have any teams that you could see making an offer
for LaMelo Ball in terms of a trade package?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (06:51):
You know the Kings are involved.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, it's the same ones as the job Morant talk.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
It's the Kings.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Would the Heat be willing to deal with him, bring
him into the locker room? Somewhat of a question, But
are they willing to give up on Tyler Hero and
what they are right now? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Would you rather have Tyler Herro or Lamello Ball? If
you're in the Miami.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Heat, I would try to keep it working with Tyler
hero got.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
So they probably would stay with the Devil, you know.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, I think so. Yeah, again, the fifty eight percent
of possible games, and just overall he hasn't They haven't
been a good team in years, and they were once.
But you just think that he can keep on turn
that thing around. The minutes played of his draft class
that have played more than him are a little wild.
Guys that have played more than him in his draft class,

(07:38):
Patrick Williams, Isaiah Stewart, Cole Anthony Emmanuel quickly I thought
he was injured, Isaac Cacorro, Sadiq Bay like they just
he just hasn't been able to stay on the floor.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Do you like ball though? Would maybe thrive in a
more structured organization, But aren't they more competent team? I
do think that.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
I feel like they're trying to do that now. I
think that Charlesley is trying to, oh, I change the
offense so it's not just let's come and shoot it.
I guess he wants to play faster. I guess because
they played a little faster last year, but this year
they're just using other guys more like I was saying
about the pick and slips, they're they're fun. I guess
there is a chance, but I don't know. There were rumors,
you know, win he was drafted that he wouldn't be

(08:19):
able to be that and we've only seen it one year.
I bought the ankle brace's stories. He's wearing ankle braces
now that his ankles would be better. It ain't happened.
I don't know. Is there an organization that just says
he's in our locker room and he's better.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
What about the Blazers. They have vets that could help
guide him, teach him the game, that sort of structure.
They have a good defense that you can sort of
put around him. You know, Scoot Henderson hasn't played, could
be Scoot. That's sort of a piece that maybe you
would be enticing to the Hornets Jeremy Grant for contract reasons.
I think it's possibility. I think they would.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Need the or would appreciate the talent infusion. I think
LaMelo is definitely a better player than Scoot, and Scoot
has the same injury concerns that LaMelo does. The Bulls
should be interested Kobe White, Booch or throw Patrick.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Williams in there as well.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Like, if there's gonna be expiring contracts and you want
to throw in a first round pick, that's a good
way to boost your talent. Because I think Lamello is
more talented than a lot of guys. A lot of
teams do have point guards, but LaMelo is still better
than a lot of those guys better.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah, but will it translate into.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
It for LaMelo ball like Trey Young doesn't have an extension.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah, I don't think the Hawks do it just to
bring him. I know he's a talented player, but like
the Blazers are an interesting one. They just shot signed
Shandon Sharp to a long term deal. They brought in
the old guys to help Shadon Sharp and to help
Scoot Henderson. Now you're changing it entirely. I think they
just keep going same with the Hawks. I don't see

(09:47):
them doing it.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Jalen Green for LaMelo, h it's I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
It's like I mean, I jokingly sort of tongue in
cheek last night, said Anthony Davis or LaMelo you could
get there? LaMelo pat Conatan for Anthony Davis. And let's
say Brandon Williams was like a guard coming back. They
need a guard obviously because there's no Kyrie, but once
he coming back, you would be then sort of going
all in on. All right, we got Cooper Flag, we
got LaMelo Ball, and then we have whoever we pick

(10:17):
with the twenty six draft pick, and that would be
sort of our core of our team. I guess it's
not crazy. He only makes thirty eight million dollars this season,
I say, only LaMelo Ball one hundred and thirty million
remaining over the next three years.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, but that's the thing, the next three years. It's
not it's not short term, it's not as short as job.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
But it's only twenty four and that's going to be
twenty five percent of your cap. I mean, it's not
brutal because he's not going to hit like the or
didn't hit any of the boose to get up there
even higher with this percentage.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
I'm just saying, Yeah, you're just saying in terms of
what the.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
He's a solarizing player. People are like, he's really good,
and other people are like, no, he's not. These are
completely empty calorie stats. He's sure, he's a walking highlight,
but it hasn't translated into a lot of wins even
when he does play, and that's half the time. So
that's why he's polarizing. MPJ, MPJ. Yeah, I saw that
one too. Yeah, I mean I'm doing that if on
the nets and a heartbeat.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, the nets are a struggle and they should be
lumped into the Sacramento Kings will take on a chance.
They just made five draft picks for point guards. They
haven't hit a home run on any of them at
this point. Agor Jim can maybe be okay, but they
really they could use somebody, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
And then of course people trying to get them home
to California Clippers, they could use some young talent. We
know that a little more difficult to maybe get there
in a sort of trade package that would work for Charlotte,
But they have a lot of not a lot. They
have two first round picks in the future twenty thirty
twenty thirty two, and they could do a first round
swamp in twenty thirty one. The Clippers could to Charlotte,

(11:50):
but Trey you already went through and they do already
have a lot of draft picks, and maybe that's not
of importance if they do want to like get some
real players around, some of their guys that they've seem
to have hit on here in CA Nipple and Rinner
and Charles Lee is their head coach. Maybe you just
want actual more, some more vets and talent in here pieces,
I guess, so these are options. We're just spitballing LaMelo ball.
So now we got LaMelo ball, John Morant, maybe Anthony Davis.

(12:15):
So Mark Cuban says, shut.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Up, zion it.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I got a bit later, zion Okay, great, great, got
a bit later. All right, Well, let's move on. Let's
start talking about one month in awards. We'll do a
couple of real awards and then some sort of big
questions here after one month of basketball, start with with MVP.
Who's the most valuable player one month in t utk Nikola.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Jokic is the MVP right now, let me pull up
his stass because I didn't write him down like an
absolute fool.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I said, I'll just be able to easily pull this out.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Twenty nine points per game, thirteen rebounds per game, eleven assists,
shooting sixty four from the field and forty from three.
And that's with a poor for him October when he
was shooting one hundred and thirty percent and then he's like,
oh yeah, I'll just make every shot for the entire
month of November. He is clearly the best player in
the league. He plays hard for like two quarters, it
feels like, in most of these games, and that's all

(13:04):
it really takes for the Nuggets. So I think Joki
is kind of easily the MVP right now. Okay, but
the only other guy on the same tier right now
is SGA.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Right with his team only having lost one game and
his stats, he's got pretty damp for sure. Yeah, yeah,
Sga is still a favorite on FanDuel for MVP plus
one thirty five, Jokiic plus one seventy five, Luca plus
four hundred. That was your preseason pick. And then Giannis
has dropped off here with his injury, and and you
got Tyrese Maxi who had a monster game last night,

(13:33):
and Kate Cunningham at plus eight thousand. They're sort of
on the list there. Maxi jumped up to the Kate
Cunningham odds last night.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
They've joined the list.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
It feels like it's one of those first three guys though,
doesn't not. Oh yeah, it's Sga. It's jokichur it's Luca
winning this thing. But who would you have right now?

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah, the Luca problem is that he hasn't played though,
and a lot of games as we're here one month in,
while Shay has played in every single one, and Jokich
has been playing a ton and he's absolutely incredible. But
I would give it to the guy who is fifteen
in one right now, because if he gets too somewhere
around that pace where he's seventy four wins or seventy

(14:07):
five wins, the guy's getting it. And obviously Jokic's best
numbers wise, you look at the advanced stats, if you're
a per a BPM or a vorper, then you give
it to Jokic. But this ain't a baseball podcast. I
just give it to the guy who's fifteen and one
right here, right now. They get so close to these
wins right at the end of the games, and Shay

(14:29):
just scores enough. He shoots more than Jokic does. You know,
three and a half more field goals a game just
to get them there. His teammates help him get there,
obviously to the end, and I know that they smash teams.
They've been able to smash them. But you know those
the moments that stick in my head are the overtime
games that they had to win because of Shay and Jokic.

(14:49):
Is fun if you know, I look at how tough
the schedule is and all that stuff over thirty days here,
thirty one days. You know, they're both kind of actual
softy schedules. To this point, they haven't had a lot
of tough, tough games. But Yokich wins the numbers game.
If you want to play another game.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
There's no They're unbelievable. Yeah, that was after a slow
start when we were like, oh no, what's wrong, Well,
nothing was wrong. He's the favorite by far right now
in basketball references, MVP Award tracker Yokitch eighty two percent
probability to win another one of these SGA is second
there around fourteen percent, and then it goes down Luca

(15:27):
shenguon a couple of pistons, Tyrese Maxie who won a
game last night. Guys that in holy crap, fifty four
points career high in the overtime win against the Bucks,
hitting big shot after big shots, got some help from
some guys late, but justin.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Edwards, maybe he's getting MVP odds. He's one of the
two games this year.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yeah. Yeah, Grimes did hit a big three in that
game too last night. But Maxie is awesome right now. Yes,
he is so fun to watch. Yeah, so his speed
and his touch and he adds the three point shot
to then everything he can do inside. He had that
floater at the end of the first quarter over Jericho Sims,
like an NBA player going like, what am I supposed
to do about that? The degree of difficulty on that,
like blazing passed the guy up top to then not

(16:07):
even go backboard. He just floats it in from like
fifteen feet out Sims. You can see Sims go, come on,
how do you stop that? I'm like, I have a
foot on this guy and I couldn't do anything.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Yeah, I thought, considering last year they didn't have Paul
George and Joel Embiid to start, there was a lot
of pressure on Tyrese Maxey and he wasn't able to
do it. To see him grow this year, to be
able to do it again without Paul George for most
of the season and half of Joel Embiid minutes or
games he's been for again, awesome. The edgecumb Help has

(16:38):
helped the Callihubery. Help has helped the Justin Edwards. Help
has helped. But he's grown.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
He's averaging thirty three point four points per game, eight assists,
five boards, you know, flirting with two steals per game,
double MIP.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
He already won one Most Improved Player and he's still
got better. Whoa, he's not even in my top five
MVP ballot and actually isn't. Who's your SGA Cage Shengoon
and Luca it's a fair five. Yeah, but then Luca,
honest would be.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
But he's only played eight games. Well, how many's honest?
How many Lucas played? Eleven?

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Okay, that's more than eleven and fifteen, that's not too bad.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, has played thirteen games.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Oh I misread it. Okay, Yeah, he's he's played thirteen
to sixty.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
You're a lot. He's he's in there. He's in there.
He's only shooting sixty three percent from the field. That
sucks you, Okay, so shooting sixty four percent. Those guys
are machines this season.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
So Wemby's out of the mix now for you, of course. Yeah,
Wemby and Honest, they're both hurt right now.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yeah, most improved player tasks. I'll give you the odds
here on Fan Duel j Jalen Duran plus one seventy five,
Josh Giddy plus four sixty, Denny Avdia plus five fifty,
Ryan Rawlins plus eight hundred, hit himself a game to
last night did, and then Jalen Johnson at plus twenty
two hundred. Those are your top five mi ips on.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
FD Ryan rownds. It's fun. I can't give it to
Danny Avdia because we sat here at the end of
twenty twenty four and said, a good team has got
to get this guy, and that's what he did. At
the end of the twenty three to twenty four season,
the Wizard's traded him to Portland and he's grown. I
didn't see this coming, this incredible growth into such a

(18:18):
lead role with the Portland Trailblazers, even after watching him
in his national games on Israel where he was the guy.
I didn't see this efficiency coming, but he knew it
was coming to some point, So I go Jalen Durn.
I think he is obviously a machine on the boards,
but the drives where he doesn't force it, I feel
like he puts it on the floor and he sees

(18:40):
the switches and gets a mismatch, and he's just bigger
than somebody. He's able to body them. Or if there's
a monster in front of him, whether it's Drummond comes
to mind, like Jock Landale comes to mind. There's these
huge guys, he's able to pause, take his time and
shoot over them. We didn't see it coming. I didn't
see it coming, and so I would give it to
Jalen Duran just what he is and what he means

(19:01):
to a really, really, really good team.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Yeah, durn is the guy for me as well.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
He's added nine points per game and he looks like
a go to scorer for them at some point when
he gets the ball underneath the hoop, he's going to score.
He's shooting seventy percent in November. Number two on the
list for me, though, is Austin Reeves plus eight points
per game twenty eight five and eight assists so far.
That includes some monster games early on when Luca was
down and you know, before Lebron got back. I think

(19:26):
Reeves has become a go to guy for the Lakers,
and it wouldn't be surprising to me if at the
end of the year, Reeves is outscoring Lebron because Lebron
will probably play a Swiss Army Knife type of season
this year, kind of doing it all, whereas Reeves will
be a go to scorer for them because on that
second unit, at least in the first game they played,
it was Reeves keying a bunch of things alongside Lebron.

(19:46):
And I think that that's the way JJ's going to
play things with the Lakers, is when Luca sits Reeves
and Lebron go crazy, then we'll sit Reeves and Lebron,
and Luca just gets to take every single shot if
he wants to, or create every single shot at the
very least.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah, I also go Jael and Duran not a surprise here.
I love this line from Hollinger on Durham. He said,
quote He's basically two different players in one. He's a
huge athletics center whom opponents can't keep off the glass
and a canny elbow operator who can sling incisive passes
and attack bigs off the dribble. End quote. Well said
from Hollinger. He has shown so much here this season,

(20:20):
blown past All start consideration. He's now in the All
NBA conversation. He's fifth in PR He's a monster on
the boards. He's carried this team when they were missing
kid along with other guys. How much is it going
to cost the Pistons at this point, they're not gonna
be angry with it. By the way, but he didn't
sign an extension, right. It was reportedly around thirty million
per year, So that's going up. Yeah, he's still on

(20:41):
his rookie deal. Yeah that's a cheap one. Yeah, facts
for sure. But he's gonna worth be worth every penny
here with his age. Would you say he just turned
twenty two, young guy and coming into the season. I
think the reason he's like high on this list for
a lot including Fandel is like there were so many
centers ranked ahead of him. Remember ESPN does their whole
ranking things. Were the centers ranked ahead of Jayalen Durham

(21:01):
before the season started, Walker Kessler, Yaka, pertl Mitchell Robinson,
nas Reed, Zach Edy, Yonis, Delanchunis a Coong Wu, Derek Lively,
Miles Turner, Isaiah Hartnstein. So yep, this again, that's a
part of the m I P narrative. It's like, oh,
maybe we didn't think he'd be that good. He is
leaping him. He's ahead of all these guys with what
he's done. Uh. In related news with the Pistons too.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Walker Kesler, Yeah, go ahead. Uh.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Dannis Jenkins, he's young, so he's not gonna win an MP.
But man, like the little mini linsanity run this guy
went on here when Kane was out. Especially, it's nuts
And what's the one of the pizzons gonna do? How
are you gonna find like playing time for all these
guys when they're when they're back, like when Ivy's back.
Tobias Harris, Okay, that's you know, that's fine, you'll find

(21:47):
him spot minutes. Paul Reid's been great though. Uh, they
got a lot of guys when they're all back and healthy. Yeah,
the problem to have.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
But it feels like the Houston Rockets making their move
for Kevin Durant and that they have so many guys
to package together for a star. Now. The Anthony Davis
talk has been hot, but when you have Jayalen Duran
work in the middle like this, it's kind of hard
to imagine putting those two together.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Josh Giddy, your guy, he gets the most I'm proving
it player. Okay, twenty one, ten and ten, I'm fudging things.
There's literally two rebounds and four assists total from averaging
a triple double. But he looks like the same player
from March and Giddy has never been a good player
in the first half of the season.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
He looks great, right, Yeah, that's a great point. It's
the Mickey Mouse March. We're always like, oh, that's where
he shines. Check the splits.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Yeah, he gets better in the second half of the season,
but he's doing it in the first half of the
season right now.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
And what four years, one hundred million dollars was the contract?
That's a good WHOA, I don't know is that good?
Is that too much? And yeah, for sure he's playing
like a max contract guy with those numbers. And how
well they've played? All right, but we all got during
all right, Next question here, biggest surprise one month in TK, Well,
of course the Bulls are back.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
But otherwise I would say the Suns are a lot
better and more fun than I expected. And Devin Booker
is totally back right now. He's kind of carrying this
team like Dylan Brooks, I think has been pretty solid
for them. He was out with injuries. They had Jalen
Green for like thirty minutes. It feels like so far
this season it's been additioned by subtraction. See you later,
Brad Beal, See you later, Kevin Durant. The vibes are

(23:20):
good in Phoenix. They have one win against the team
that's five hundred or better, so they have played an
easier schedule. But you can only beat the teams that
are ahead of you, and the Suns are taking care
of business. There have been a lot of disappointing teams
this year, and the Suns definitely haven't been one. The
guy they drafted in the top ten, Malawatch, he never
even plays. All these former Hornet centers are doing okay

(23:41):
for them. They seem to be a lot more enthused
this season, and there's a lot better chemistry. And it's
nice to see Devin Booker playing like an All NBA player.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Yeah, it's a good one.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah. If Mark Williams, or excuse me, if DeAndre Ayton
wasn't playing well for the Lakers, the Lakers fans would
be upset. Look at Mark Williams. We could have had that,
but we traded for him and then he left but yeah,
the Phoenix Suns have been incredible. Jordan not again. Coach
of the Year votes sure.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah, ballot for sure. If they stay winning at.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
The YEA, they gotta win.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
Then.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
The schedule has been somewhat soft, and the fact that
Jalen Green isn't around for a while. That hurts not
having a score. But I'm most surprised by how bad
the Clippers are. They're bad. It's so bad bad. Yeah,
because they're sitting at four and eleven. It's going to
be their first losing season since twenty ten. Twenty eleven,

(24:33):
if they remain below five hundred, that's been a long time.
We expected their defense to be decent even though they
got older. Their defense has just falling apart. So shouldn't
they be able to outscore teams with all these former
All Stars? It ain't happening. I don't see where it
comes from. I don't think there's any answer. They've already
lost Bradley Beal for the season. Kawhi is in and out,

(24:55):
unlike last year when they just kept him out and
then he came back in January and was playing for
most of the season. Chris Paul looks old. Unfortunately, the
Norman Powell for John Collins trade not a goodie could
use Norm. Derek Jones Junior is hurt. Yeah, they have
just lost it. And I know they're relying on Harden,
and Harden looks all right, and that's what they did

(25:16):
for a lot of last season. Again win, but the.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Difference Hardy was carrying them him and Zoo, but yeah,
the defense.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
And Norman, and Norman was leading, leading their team and
scoring for months. And they decided. Lawrence Frank at the
head office, I have the video in my head of
them getting Bradley Beal was announced They're getting Bradley Beal,
and Lawrence Frank was on a call. He was on
a call with with uh Lom Murray, I believe with

(25:46):
the Athletic there's doing an interview and then he found
out while he was talking to Lot Marie, we got
Bradley Beal. So they get Bradley Beal. And then because
of that, I think they felt comfortable trading Norman Powell
for John Collins. And now look at this team absolutely
falling apart. Oh yeah, oh yeah, They've got this whole
Steve Bamber circumvention of the cap scenario going on there

(26:09):
that they're not going to have an answer for until
after the All Star Game. That's going to be in
the ind to it Dome, which is unfortunate, but I
guess that's gonna happen from where they may lose a pack,
so that our pick. Excuse me, So they've got the
off court drama. And this team again, don't I don't know.
They're playing in the West. They're not just going to
float up the standings right now. There's too many teams.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
They're four and eleven here one month in the season,
and like losses are getting worse and worse.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
It feels like too much turnovers for the Clippers. Only
Harden is playing well for this team, but if anybody
turns the ball over, it's an easy bucket. The other way,
you could outrun guys on the cover.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Well, this is the slogan, and today's game is like
all pace, Like have we seen this league play this fast?
Like obviously pushing this much, obviously the defense to ninety
four feet. Yeah, that's you're going to have to have
an issue if you're the oldest team.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
They're trying to get younger. They're thrown out there. Yeah,
they're Sanders, the Colonel the colonel. But yeah, it ain't
en up.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Yeah, okay, that's it.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
Good.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
They came in wearing those shirts. They said, get the
back guard your grill. Yeah, you gotta get back, get
the shirts back, Jeff. Nobody even cares about the bomber
aspiration scandal because they're four and eleven.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Well, and then we had a bligger scandal after well,
you like way more serious. We did a guy planting trees.
But my point is that they're eleven and four, Well,
what the hell a cheating? This sem isn't fair, but
it was like they cheat it, but they still sucks.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Allegedly. All right, good surprises. I'll go with this one.
Even without Fred van Vliet, the Rockets look like a
championship contender because when he went down, a lot of
us were like, Okay, they're gonna be good. They're gonna
be a solid team. But man, they're gonna miss Fred,
who's gonna be their point guard? You know, I'm in Thompson,
that might be too much for him. Reaepherd. He was
brutal as a rookie. Like we were worried. They're awesome

(27:58):
right now, And the more I watch them and I
know I'm going off of recency bias with the I
thought ask kicking they handed Cleveland. I'm convincing myself, like,
oh yeah, they they're right there, maybe with the Nuggets
and the Thunder just below them. Last year though, Houston
had the thirteenth most efficient offense, but they couldn't shoot.
Their whole offense was don't turn the ball over and

(28:19):
hit the glass. That was sort of their offense. We'll
win it with defense, We'll hit some timely shots and
maybe get those victories. And that worked. But now they
have the best offense still in the NBA. They've jumped
to eighth and true shooting percentage, They've increased their free
throw volume, and they are still the top three point
shooting team in terms of accuracy, making forty two percent

(28:41):
of their threes. Now they have the lowest volume of
three point attempts, but so they make them count. I
guess when they shoot them. They're sub thirty three point
attempts per game. But yeah, that better offense when the
injection of KD and the defense hasn't slipped at all.
It's never is going to with Yudoka lead team. So
they just got this great balance right now. Of like

(29:03):
they play a little bully They still play bullyball because
of the defense and the glass, but then they have
this offensive execution going. And I love the synergy between
Schengun and KD right now at into games. It's awesome.
So yeah, I mean, I'm just didn't see this like
this level without Van Vleet, especially when he was off.
You know, he's important. We've seen it with the Raptors.

(29:23):
He'd helped this team even, I'm sure, but oh yeah,
they haven't missed a beat. They've gotten so much better.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
I want to see them in a matchup with Oka.
See I'm wishful thinking here. I would hope that they
would have a Fred van Vliet just to run things against. Okay, see,
that's so good at pressuring the ball. But at the
other side, the Rockets would be big against this Oka
se team and be able to get extra rebounds. So
it would be fun. But I got to count on

(29:49):
Okayc's defense to be able to get after whoever's hand.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Every team's chasing, Okay, see, yeah that's what you're chasing. Well, yeah,
the champs and they're better, So yeah, that's them. But
we find out tonight Nuggets Rockets is a hell of
a game. That's nice, that's tasty. Yeah, in Houston a
bit of a measuring stick for both those teams.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
That's why it's the pick them game, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Yeah you go okay, See played Houston obviously, Game one
of the Year two OT classic, but they.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Don't play again until January. It's a long time from now.
But you got to be impressed by the Rockets.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
They may not have a point guard, but when it
comes down to it in the fourth quarter, they have
two guys who deserve a double team in Sheng Gooon
and Kevin Durant. Pick your poison. Yeah, that's why we
saw Aaron Holliday basically win him a game by going
for fourteen in a fourth quarter. Just recently, they seem
to understand exactly how they want to play, and they
don't hit a lot of threes. They're making them, like
you said, and they get to the free throw line

(30:41):
of time. Our fifth in free throws made this year.
Shannggoon generates them quite regularly. You know, Katie's gonna knock
him down when he gets to the line. So even
though they're not getting the three point efficiency bump, the
free throw efficiency bump is where they're making up for
it for sure.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
All right, final one here, we'll start with your task
most underrated story in one.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
I know we've been talking about the Mavericks, but ever
since Nigo Harrison was fired, I think everybody's kind of lying, Ah, okay,
we're down with that. There's the talk that Kyrie Irving
would come back if it were the playoffs right now.
He would be ready to play. According to Mark Spears
of ESPN, And after watching some of those off season videos,
I mean literally off season videos before the season, the

(31:24):
guy looked pretty good. So there's that part. There's the
Anthony Davis part that rumors and they're going to trade him,
and then all of a sudden, Mark Cuban is back
into things. He's back at courtside and he's running the show.
All of a sudden he says, no, we're trying to win.
So there's that whole drama there where he is kind
of leading the front office with Michael Findley Rashardi now

(31:46):
who are supposed to be leading, But he's the guy
in Patrick Dumont's ear as the owner and as the
current owner, current governor, and Patrick Dumont has to listen
to the other guy and Mark Cuban. I mean they
were listening, They've been talking, They've always and buddies, Mark
Cuban trying to help out Patrick Dumont grow. So I
think all that on the floor is very interesting. Just

(32:09):
the whole thing is it's not done. Just because they
fired a guy, that doesn't mean they're going to be terrible,
because they do have good players. They will be playing soonish.
So there's that whole drama. I think that's that's still
going to be a story for months to go.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
So Clippers four and eleven not loving their chances to
turn around their season. Mavericks four and twelve, you have
more confidence maybe because of the Kyrie part.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Yeah, yeah, we don't know when Kyrie's coming back. That's
the thing. I mean, yes, part of the story is
that he's coming back now. But I don't think they're
just going to say, hey, we're getting We're going to
give up and use our pick. I don't think that's happening.
I think I'm buying in play the.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Lottery odds once again. Hey, we had Cooper with.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
For a couple for a couple months at least. I
think they're still going to try and be decent. You know,
if they have to turn it off in March like
they did when they were able to get Derek Lively
back back when they gave up those few games and
was that twenty three. I guess that worked out. That
could happen. But I buy the Cuban. I'm buying Cuban.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
See at the cigar show in the Cuban.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
I don't know how much I buy him backing Steve
Balmer as a guy who didn't circumvent the rules, but
I do buy him that he's going to try and
win because that's what he did. And listening to him
interview get into interviews this past these past few months,
he basically said the problem with ownership in the NBA

(33:38):
is that it's all about money and it's not about
the fans. And that's pretty bold of him as a
former NBA owner. So I like number one hearing that.
Number two. I buy that he is going to try
for his fans and try again. It's so weird that
he's sort of leading the front office again, but that
but he wanted to be better.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
I'm still in charge.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Yeah, he never wanted to leave. But the fact that
he says that. I think they're not going to trade
a D anytimes. And what are they getting for a
D anyways? But we'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Well they could get something which is important. Yeah, they
have no picks going forward after this year. That's why
it's a question mark of what they'll actually end up doing.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah, don't they have a top two protected pick in
twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
All I know is they don't control their pick from
twenty seven to thirty after this year. It's either traded
away or they're on the worst end of a swap.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
But I think you are right. If it hit one,
if they hit it again, if yeah, I think would
keep it back, I believe.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
But any far fetch that, yeahould that's it. They could
give up at some point.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
What about you tk most underrated story?

Speaker 3 (34:41):
The worst kind of stinks like they've got the best
teams in the league for sure, in the Thunder, the Nuggets,
and the Rockets. I think you would even throw the
Lakers in there as a team that has a puncher's
chance with how we've seen how good they can be offensively.
Defense will be a problem, I do believe for LA
once it comes down to playoff time.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Minnesota okay, like.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
They're winning games. I don't think has really had his
stamp on this season so far. He was out of
the lineup for a little bit. He's kind of been
inconsistent when he has been playing. Julius Randalls carried them
to a couple of wins. But right now Basketball Reference
projects the Warriors to be the eighth seed in the
Western Conference with forty one wins. All of the pleasant

(35:20):
surprises are in the Eastern Conference. We're talking about the Raptors,
the Pistons, the Bulls, the Hawks. Really only Orlando disappointed
and even they're back over five hundred. But then you
look at the Western Conference, Memphis, the Clippers, Dallas, Sacramento, Cafey,
We're going to be in the mix for a play
in birth Pelicans, Pelicans. All the disappointing teams are in

(35:41):
the Western Conference, which is why it's not super panic time.
Like the Clippers have stunk to start the season. They're
a game and a half out of the tenth seed.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
They are.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Six games out of the sixth seed right like they
can easily turn it around and why And that to
me is what my real point is. We're gonna have
a great slop season. It's going to be awesome this year.
Free agency is dead. Trade season is when things actually happen.
LaMelo might be moved, ad Ja Trey, any of the
guys from the Kings, DeRozan, Levine, Sabonis, Zion, Trey, Murphy,

(36:14):
market and kaminga guaranteed to be traded and beating Paul
George pretty unlikely, but I think that their names will
at least be in the rumor mill when it comes
down to it. So it'll be exciting times come December
fifteenth through feb fifteen.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Basically that's a good point slop season right around the corner.
I guess tell you what do we do? It starts
December fifteenth, is all we're saying. That's when all these
incible to be traded. Yeah, a little more manageable to
make deals because of contracts you can put in, because
of players being able to be traded. Yeah, hopefully. Hey,
trades are good for content, that's right, Let's get them.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Yeah. It is odd in the West that there's teams
in the ninth seed and ten seed that are way
below five hundred. I mean, I could say way below
at six and nine and five and nine, while in
the Eastern Conference. They're above five hundred in the ninth
and ten seed. And when I'm looking at the little
mellow ball history in Charlotte, I'd forgotten that winning season

(37:07):
that they had there forty three and thirty nine and
they finished in the tenth seed. That's a pretty good
record for a freaking ten seed. So that could happen
in the East again, but it is ought to see
it in the West where there's better teams and then yeah,
a drop off.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
This sort of goes to what you were saying about
the West. But my most underrated story right now is
Darren Fox leading the Spurs here without Wemby, really without
Area fifty one, the duo in Wemby and Castle. Three
straight wins. Now, they haven't played the greatest talent in
the world. They beat the Kings, they beat the Grizzlies,
but they did beat the Hawks last night. That was
a quality win. Fox is averaging twenty seven, eight and

(37:42):
three in those wins. He's hitting three three, three, three
threes per game. That's not easy to say. And he's
chipping in a bunch of steels. That's what he does,
swipa himself. But he's like, this is good like when
your main guys are out, especially your young talented guys,
you have these vets like Fox, Harrison Barnes, Devin Vessel's
had some good moments. Kelvin Johnson had a great game

(38:03):
last night. Our guy, David Jones Garcia David Jones Mancia
twelve points in eighteen minutes. Guy's been of a bucket.
No hyphen I don't think he even has no hyphen baby, Okay,
three names. So it is getting these wins. You gotta
beat these bad teams, and then the Hawks is a
quality win and Fox is he's leading them, and this
is why you get him. Six teams with ten plus

(38:24):
wins in the West. Spurs are one of them, despite
missing Wenby here for a little bit of a stretch
of time, and they're going to miss him more. Uh So,
the no falloff is pretty impressive. I think it's got
a little underrated deer and Fox gets overlooked. I think,
or maybe he's perfectly looked at. I don't know, but
he's been good and he deserves some flowers right now
with this little stretch of him leading them.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
I thought the only hyphen guy or three name guy
that was new to the league that would get pub
was Nigel Hayes Davis of the Phoenix Suns. Yes, but no,
he's been outdone by David Jones Garcia.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Ye, no love for Yanna Conan Niederhauser.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Oh yeah, he's a three namer. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Yeah, he's a dash though, is he? I think so
he's a no dasher that he's a dash on his
on the back of his jersey.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Interesting, Yeah, I think you said that was gonna be
the longest NAMEBA Tyer, Gildess, Alexander Conan, Needen Howser. It's
a good one. It's a good name. I should give
him love because it is pretty fun. I can't help
but say it with an accent. It's fun.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Some news here too. I don't know if this is underrated,
but the national NBA games being shown on Peacock, NBC, Amazon, ESPN.
They've drawn more than sixty million viewers through the first
month of the regular season, and the league says that's
the highest opening total in fifteen years.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Adam Silver told us in that press conference there'll be
more exposures. He called them exposures. No for the national
broadcast channels. That's why they got in NBC. YEP, he
can just turn it on, whether you're in the country,
whether you're an urban fan.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Like you like though. League Pass subscriptions up ten percent,
I guess viewership up eight percent, so people are also
enjoying leak Past. I have to say I have had
no issues with lead past this year, which is nice.
I've had some Oh really, it's been working really well
for me. Oh good good multi news it's always loading,
it's never buffering or anything.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Oh, I'm a buffer man, that's my pro.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
Don't maybe check your inn callin Bruce a buffer.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Sometimes sometimes I'm Michael just because I know both names. Yeah,
but I mean silver did say and Kanka Nipple said.
I quote Conk Nipple who came out and said, well,
we're going to be on Amazon. It means my family
can watch again just because they have a fan of
the Amazon app and people are watching on Amazon Prime.
I mean just exposure because people use well.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
Could watch every game of his if they wanted to. Well, yeah,
I can afford.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
I got a lot of moles defeat they do.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Yeah. Yeah, I don't know what he does. I don't
know if he's talking about immediate family, but I think
he was talking more like you know, aunts, uncles, people
people who are like, WHOA I have that, or watch
them I have Amazon.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
I don't think he's sharing his logging.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
It seems like a family first guy, you should be
sharing that login. Is the price cheaper one sixty for
premium only one oh nine? That might be standard? Yeah,
smart move. And I feel like they've beefed off the
pe beefed up the features. Watch Key plays, Yeah, I
like that, that kind of thing. They have like several
versions of a condensed afterwards, a fifteen minute or you
can watch in all possessions, which they had always confused.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
They had they always had that, but yeah, yeah, but
like a.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
Forty eight minute game, forty three minutes, when it's condensed,
all the possessions are we I want to see a
guy walking the ball.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Up the court.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
Yeah, they don't show that. They cut that.

Speaker 3 (41:36):
Watch Key plays. It doesn't work for basketball too fast.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
It is fast, I mean it is ideal in baseball.
They have that on YouTube for base key players. Boop
football too.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
Yeah yeah, yeah, there's so many scores in basketball.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
It's it's odd.

Speaker 1 (41:51):
Yeah, you know where it's okay. I don't mind if
I come into the game, like maybe midway through the
second quarter, I'll keep play it up and I just
get a taste of the first quarter. Sure, I agree
with your statement overall, but like, yeah, okay, oh MAXI
was on fire there all right, I got the idea here. Yeah,
he cooked in the first Okay, here we go, we're live.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Yeah, especially if you tune in the second quarter you
just want to watch some quick key yeah.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
Just like five or six plays. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
But as we've said about number one about the NBA
YouTube page, they've done a better job of condensing games
into ten minutes even.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
Yeah, and then the extended version one that they pick
like a key game. I like that extended highlights, extended highlights. Yeah,
but that's only for like the best game of the night. Hey,
loo've been doing a great job. A lot of exposures.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
Yeah, I'm silver did say it's a highlight league. They've
made it the highlights better. And also the leak pass
is cheaper. I know people on our playback channel come
in and say, wholl leak pass is good. It's cheaper good,
so one nine. Yeah, that's that's way more than reasonable.
They have reduced it, for sure.

Speaker 1 (42:49):

Okay, just joining us on No Dunks on YouTube. Hit
the like button, subscribe podcast listeners, five star ratings and reviews.
Let's get two worst of the week.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
Ladies and gentlemen. The worst of the week. We've got
three nominees. You tell us who the winner is. If
you're on the stream team, if you're here at the desk,
let us know. The poll has begun. It's copy and paste.
It's almost there. I want you I want you to
hear it first before I click post. Well, all right,

(45:39):
so the first nominee, a ref handed out a technical
foul because the mopping crew took too long. It was
a delay of game, which ended up being a technical foul.
Bowls Jazz fourth quarter bulls player falls the mop boys
as they're commonly called out and do the job. Referee

(46:02):
Mark Davis says, oh, that's a delay of game. You're
taking too long. Will Hardy, the Jazz coach, came over
and said, what a delay of game for mopping they had.
They had to bleep them out the Jazz broadcast. They
cut it, they cut it all together, and he was
basically saying, he said, you're freaking kidding me, and they
were bleeping out Will Hardy, who was just mad about

(46:23):
a foul that ended up or technical foul that resulted
in a free throw for Kobe White. Literally one point
was decided because of those officials.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
Are saying your you're you're game in the system here,
Jazz and Hardy. That's what's gone. What are those boys doing?
Those boys doing.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
They were taking too long? Were they gaming the systems?
Just saying too long?

Speaker 1 (46:46):
That's all what I mean by that, right.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Yeah, I guess, but what are they doing?

Speaker 1 (46:50):
I'm not agreeing, and I think that's why they're handing
them the delay of game. It's like, okay, yeah.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Speed it up, Yeah, mop faster.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
I gotta be quick out there, I guess. Huh, multiple
guys out there to them up, but guy was down.
These are a sweaty NBA players. Yeah, yeah, that is weird.
It wasn't that long. I mean that timed it. It
was like, how long were they out there? I'd say
eleven seconds? That's not unreasonable.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
No, yeah, no, Mark Davis, I'm surprised with Mark Davis,
an incredible NBA referee, would hand that out a delay
of game and a technical free throw in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
Second delay of game.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
Yes, that happened. Yes, the second delay of game. The
first one is just a delay of games. The first
time is just a warning. But it was just an
extra It was an extra point. Then it would turned
from a three point lead for the Jets to a
two point lead for the Jazz, and they went to overtime.
They did win, so it was all right, but you know,
you know, things happened, all right. Second nominee, the Piston's
Javante Green. He literally wiped his sweat from his forehead

(47:55):
onto a basketball during free throws twice on two different
free throws. It was here in Atlanta. The first time
passes it back. The second time you see it here
he gives it to Keaton Wallace who shoots the free
throw and misses because of it. So not just once,
but twice, and sometimes we do see this, yeah, but

(48:17):
twice in the same game. I don't, I don't, I don't.
I don't remember that. And the referee didn't do a
thing about it in this scenario, just took the ball.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
That's delay a game.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Game.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
Yeah, but we have seen guys do this, right, Yeah, exactly, Yeah,
let me grab that, get my sweat on it. They
usually usually on the face. Yeah, yeah, you see the
jersey break out. Yeah, I'm having some forehead skin problems recently.
Don't put a ball on you. I would never. I
would never do that. I try and not touch my
forehead as much as possible. We should put a hat

(48:49):
on you.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
I guess problem give a little irritation.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
My forehead skin is too sensitive.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
Just how it is? Just dry or is it?

Speaker 1 (49:02):
I don't can tell it.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Dirty hat.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
No, I clean my hat, I clean my hat and everything.
I went to the dermatologists. They said it's contact dermatitis.
It's it final. I'll never touch my forehead. Haven't touched
my forehead for a year.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
I gotta get like a James Brown like character to
come out and dab my forehead.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:20):
It's all about pushing, not not rubbing. Rubbing.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
Yes. Shout out to Seph No for the sweaty forehead videos.
We appreciate that last one. Here, this one is just
it's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (49:33):
It's art.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
It's Dangel Russell dribbling for twenty one seconds, and I
think this is great if you're watching on YouTube, it's
the entire possession. I had to speed it out there.
You had it's twenty one seconds.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
Where it's like yack, Andy sucks now yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:47):
Where he ends up literally tripled the whole freaking everywhere too, yeah,
and doesn't pass it, and then he gives it to
Nage Marshall. You shoot it, you shoot it at the
end of a possession miss. Yeah, the whole d Angel
Russ the thing obviously has not gone well in Dallas whatsoever.
Maybe he's mad that he started on the bench this season.

(50:07):
I guess I would have expected to start for that team.
But anyway, those are your three nominees. Let us know,
two sweat related ones and D'Angelo Russell quite sweaty. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (50:17):
What would you vote for?

Speaker 2 (50:23):
I would I would go to the delay of game
for mopping.

Speaker 1 (50:25):
Okay, had an impact on the game.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
Yeah, it did? It did.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
What would you pick forehead? Okay? Yeah, just wipe on
your shirt. I'll go D'Angelo. Then, come on, man, you're
a point guard. Passed the ball? Yeah, what are you doing?
Get in the offense? So you're not even going to
attack after all that, We're just standing there watching you
bring it up and dribblele around a pole?

Speaker 2 (50:45):
Is there?

Speaker 1 (50:46):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Vote on a pole? Pole? Wow? Eighty three percent very
quickly the delay of game tech for mopping.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Ye yeah, yeah, I mean Will Hardy is like, what
the hell are you doing?

Speaker 2 (50:55):
I've never seen him mad before. He was so mad,
I mean that mad. He's swearing. It's like, are you
getting me? You called him? You're giving that do a
ball boy? Called him a ball boy.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
Ball man and he's like a Yannis like speech. Our
ball boys got a v faster out there. Yeah, our
jersey's got to be cleaner.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
It's right, It's right, all right. Get your votes in
for Tessa's Worst of the Week nominees. Who is your selection?
By Fantasy Line of the Night presented by Peloton This
was an easy one. Last night. Tyrese Maxi poured in
a career high fifty four points to lead the seventy
six ers to the one twenty three, one to fourteen

(51:34):
overtime win over the Bucks. Look at this line. Maxi
went eighteen to thirty from the field, six to fifteen
from deep, twelve a fourteen at the free throw line.
He added a team high nine assists, five boards and
six stocks, three blocks, three steals. Oh for Tyrese Maxie,
how unrealized that you're five by five played forty seven minutes, man,

(51:58):
Nick Nurse. He plays his guys. He's averaged in like
forty one minutes almost right now. H yeah, yeah, but
I'll say that guy's in shape because late in this
game must have been in the overtime period, Bucks were
getting a little desperate, had to play the foul game,
and Maxie gets fouled obviously in the backcourt. Great free
throw shooter, he's having a monster game. Put him on

(52:18):
the line. Uh sprinted, sprinted from the back court to
the free throw line. Let's go. Let me get some
more points here and get that career high. So he
wasn't tired. What a game. And that is your little
fancy line of the night, presented by Pelotoni.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
Maxie, I think he could lead the league in scoring.
He's second right now. I think he's number one, and
he's number one in minutes. I think he's number one
in shot attempts and shot attempts per game.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
He's just the hair behind Luca leading the league in scoring.
I do though, I think he could. I kind of
a craze. I've like that right now, Like you said,
he's gonna like he can get up the most shots
he can get the most minutes because of his conditioning
what they need from or they're fine with, and their
coach that likes to do that too. So yeah, I
think it's in play. I think Luca is going to

(53:06):
tick down a little bit here, right with Lebron back
in the mix, a little bit, probably, I think, but
not that Max. He's going to stay at what he
had thirty three, yeah, thirty three and a half, but
I think thirty yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
Maybe, yeah, yeah. The tickdown playing beside Lebron makes a
little more sense than the tick down playing beside Paul George.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
Hey, Paul George had a good game, exactly, he did
play well.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
Season high because he's only played two games, so with
twenty one points, was buddy, did you know he is
sort of limited in terms of his minutes. But I
thought the the MAXI points would come down because of
the combination of Edgecombe, Paul George, and Joel Embiid. But again,
Paul George ain't gonna play a lot, Joel Embiid ain't
playing all the time, So maybe MAXI stays high.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
Oquay, okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (53:53):
Question number two regarding Tyres Maxie, Like we said, forty
point seven minutes per game right now? There hasn't been
a player in the NBA to average forty minutes per
game since Monte Ellis in twenty ten eleven?

Speaker 1 (54:05):
Is that true? Wow? Yeah, Oh, that's a lot of
minutes of minutes. But that's a long time ago.

Speaker 3 (54:12):
That's about yeah, exactly fifteen years. You know, we've changed
our thinking on how players play. Will he stay over
forty minutes per game?

Speaker 1 (54:18):
What's that right now? Forty point seven minutes per game?
Put me down for no. It's a ton of minute.
Put me down for no. But pretty damn close. Yeah, yeah, damn.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Montelis led the league in minutes played twice two years
in a row. Forty one point four is then forty
point three? Who is forty one point four? He was
with the Warriors? Was that down?

Speaker 1 (54:38):
I don't know. It's done? Ten eleven? Oh, Keith Smart,
of course, Keith Smart.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Well, the first year it was Don Nelson. Then he
got fired.

Speaker 1 (54:46):
For Keith, They're like, you're playing him too much. He
came in, let's keep playing. He cut his minutes from
forty one to forty. Yeah, rained back a little bit,
all right, pick him tonight? Task were we talked about it?
It's going to be Denver Houston.

Speaker 2 (54:59):
What's like, Oh, it's too good. That game is too good.
Houston favored by two and a half at home. It's
as exciting. These two teams that should be the best
competition for OKC in the West. This is the first
time they're playing this season. This is an NBA Cup
game in the Group of death where every team is
one in one going into tonight.

Speaker 5 (55:17):
A huge game.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
Yeah, this game is on Amazon Prime Video. This is
Yokic versus Shengon, which was great in EuroBasket, that Turkey
Serbia game where Turkey one sheng Gun gave to Jokic.
So that's why I'm taking Jokic revenge for nicole A Jokic.
But who knows? Who knows? You guys both have the

(55:39):
rockets to win by three or more at home against them.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
Should be a nice match. It should be a very
good US from I don't have it in front of me,
But there are a couple things that could happen tonight
in the NBA Cup that could either have a team
securing a spot to the knockout stage. Our tront Raptors
are one of those teams. They win and Pacers lose,
that's correct, they secure a spot, and then there are
a lot of teams that will be officially eliminated if

(56:04):
they lose again tonight. Like there's a whole bunch that
are basically already for being honesty.

Speaker 2 (56:09):
Utah, D Dallas and New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
Okay, so if they lose their yeah, I mean, let's
be honest, they're already out.

Speaker 2 (56:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
I think a lot of those teams got waxed. If
I remember correctly, point differentials would hurt them regardless. But anyway,
Cup games tonight, respect the Cup and we'll be respecting
that game for sure. Denver in Houston, I think it's
a nine thirty start here on a Friday night, Yes,
Eastern Eastern for us.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
Cool.

Speaker 1 (56:37):
Who isn't good or cool?

Speaker 2 (56:39):
Cool? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (56:40):
Cool? Oh, it's Friday. It's the drop that means it's
a rapid fire, fun, rapid fire. Not usually all that rapid,
but let's find out.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
On Monday, the Raptors starters came out to their own
songs for player intros. RJ Barrett Back on Road by
Gucci Maine. Emmanuel quickly set it off by Straight Jack
A Pearl, Heart of the City by Jay Z Brandon,
Ingram Reason by g Herbo and Scottie Barnes, Evil Jordan
by Playboy CARTI. What's your work walkout songs? What's your

(57:12):
workout song? What's your walkout songs?

Speaker 1 (57:14):
You're getting a lot of the song? I assume are
you pretty quick intros?

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Yeah? Fifteen you know they got it. I'm guessing fifteen
fifteen seconds. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
I gotta be quick. Uh well, luck, I'll wave the
Canadian flag. Give me Northern Touch. The start of Northern
Touch is pretty good. Yeah, yeah, with that beat, so
hell yeah, hell yeah, Northern He likes to pick.

Speaker 5 (57:39):
It, as the kids say, slaps, Okay.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
Well I'm happy with my pick.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Then, yeah, you've already picked which part of the song too,
because you have to pick. Yeah, as you said, you
gotta know, you gotta know which part you're pack.

Speaker 1 (57:51):
A lot of people know that that instrumental, that beat
from DMX of course too. You had a very popular
song with that exact same beat around the exact same time.
What one I forget the DMX song. I forget the
name of it.

Speaker 5 (58:03):
It's instantly recognizable.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
I know I fear the name of the song, though,
but you know it, you play it let's get a copy, right, No,
not do it. That's the problem. We're not doing it.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
Not copyright in here, Trey, what's your walkout song?

Speaker 3 (58:15):
What you see is what you get by the dramatics.
Nobody knows the song. But it's a beautiful song and
it's the only song that's finished in my top two
played the past couple of years on Apple Music. It's
like a beautiful sixties song wouldn't fit at all for
walk to a basketball game.

Speaker 1 (58:33):
But I love the voices and I love the ad
libs in it. Get at me dog? Oh okay, Yeah,
it's a great song. To realize I was the same,
the exact same it's from. It's a sample from a
BT express cool. Yeah, they were using it at the
exact same time. It was really weird. I think the
exact same year ninety eight. If yeah, it was ninety eight.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
So somebody sold that to Accent then also Cardinal Offishew
would you say it was.

Speaker 1 (59:00):
Okay? They did it? But yeah, yeah, it features Cardinal
and Checkmate and Thrust and Checkmate of course the name
in the song.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
All right, Jad take us home here? What's your walkout song?

Speaker 5 (59:15):
I'm going to assume that I'm not going to be
happy to be there. Why, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (59:20):
I don't like the bright lights. Okay, so I'm going
super Trooper by Abba. You know the part where it's
where she says, facing twenty thousand of my friends, how
can anyone be so lonely part of a success that
never ends? Still I'm thinking about you only so I'm
just melancholy, but still fucking killing it out there, you

(59:41):
know what I mean. But like undeniable superstar, but.

Speaker 5 (59:45):
I don't want to be there. I just want to
be out a home.

Speaker 2 (59:48):
Look it out. What a turn of events. Yeah for
somebody who's now on their own podcast with Rachel Man
that's doing a No Buffs as well.

Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Yeah, well, no Bust. This guy was a superstar on
No Budd Trooper. You gotta go watch No Buster. Listening
to No Bus yesterday, JD was on one. The comments
were going nuts. JD, I haven't even liked Oh my god. Yeah,
I highly recommend everybody check it out.

Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
Yesterday, No Bus thrown man crashing.

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Reality.

Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
Yeah it was great.

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
So what year was that Aba song?

Speaker 5 (01:00:25):
Nineteen eighty?

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
I want to say we got an eighty, we got
a ninety eight?

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
What was what was yours from mine's from nineteen seventy three.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
Yeah, I will surprised with Emmanuel Quickly's set it off.
I listened to it. That's a nineteen ninety older than yours, skeets.
I was surprised. Jeez, it's a catchy I can understand
why he came out to that.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Do you think this will catch on across the NBA
doing the old baseball? Everybody gets her own song. It's
not one team song, Little Nicks.

Speaker 5 (01:00:53):
It's too fast.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
I think it's fast.

Speaker 5 (01:00:55):
Too fast a baseball. You got time too, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
Thirty second at least to walk up to the plate.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Here.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
It's all about the intro. Yeah yeah, you gotta have
a heavy intro, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
Next one here. Nardwar has announced the release of his
very own shoe in collaboration with Nike. It's all plaid,
it's got a pomp pom and the heel of each
sneaker has his signature call and response sign off do
do doot on the left and doo doo on the right.
What words would you get on each of your shoes

(01:01:28):
that are dedicated to you? Skets said when you read
I know weird.

Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
I never knew it was doula.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
I thought it was just do do do do?

Speaker 5 (01:01:43):
Yeah, I guess.

Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
Yeah, And sometimes they don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Sometimes they don't know that it's coming for sure. Well
that's just I could.

Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Go for hours.

Speaker 6 (01:01:59):
That's my favorite part of any hard noir, when it
ends and he just freezes and they just gotta wait
what they do? Yeah, some people just freeze with him.
Some people just keep going is it over?

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Like they go, is this done? Some people just like
they're so good.

Speaker 4 (01:02:12):
Out of it, but he's waiting for them to say, dude,
doo right, No, no, I thought so. Yeah, he goes
do do and then he lets them.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
But then but then he just freezes.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Then he freezes.

Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
He just usually just freezes like police squad, and then
they just see what happens.

Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
Yeah, it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
How old is nord War He's gotta be. I would
think you're not old. Yeah, I thought he's in his fifties.
But have a long time.

Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
The human serviette. I hold down rabbit holes on YouTube
all the time. They mean, there's so many good interviews. Anyway,
I'll answer your question. Okay, yeah, what words do I
want my shoes? I mean, I don't need to overthink this.
Good morning, sweet world. Throw those on the back of
the heels to go to to go to. It's not

(01:03:00):
too long either. If you got a doodle loop do
on one morning.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
They're also the do dos are also on the sole
of the shoes. They're both easier to fit there easier. Yeah,
a lot of space, Trey, What are you putting on
your shoes?

Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
I want two eyes on the left shoe and then
a red circle on the right.

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
Now that's your bulls. That's exactly right, eyes and red.
My eyes look big for you. Yeah, yeah, thanks guys.

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
JD. What do you got? Yeah, I was.

Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
Rachel has his mug. You see it. I'm all over Etsy.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
It says O.

Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
L on one side and U N T on the
other side, and the the handle is the D so
it's old then C word right, So.

Speaker 5 (01:03:55):
I was thinking that.

Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
But in that spirit, it's one of my favorite, like
you know prank pages where it's like could you ask
my friend? I'm looking for my friend, And this one
is my favorite. It's Harry Sea word, right, like you know,
somebody pages Harry Seaward and it's you know, it's the
sea word, but Harry Seaward anyway, that's what I want

(01:04:18):
to wish you, Harry on one side, Sea Word on
the other.

Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
All right, that's it, okay. Funny Instagram video produced by
the NBA two K League and the NBA Research and
Development Department that featured Dante Devincenzo finding out that they
traded every one of his teammates for more Dante Divincenzos.
The two K Timberwolves were all Dante Divincenzos. It's very

(01:04:46):
funny him playing with him. Which player would you choose
as the only player on a team?

Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Skeets, Well, it's a very funny Instagram account. This NBA
Research and Development Department at NBA resdev and they had
another video where they were trying to find out the
most average NBA player using their scientific measures, and they
decided on Derek Jones Junior. I mean, I get it,

(01:05:13):
like they're they're doing everything stats and size and weight
and all that. Derek Jones Junior though, I mean that guy,
it's a former dunk champ. It's above average to me
in that aspect. But the whole point of this is
I've always said PJ. Washington is the Chevy Tracks of
the NBA. To me. He feels pretty average in a
good way. In a good way. So I would like
to see an entire team of PJ. Washington's and could

(01:05:36):
they win the chip of It's being still a pretty
good team. He's six', Seven he's got a little bit
of weight and.

Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
A little.

Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
Bit, YEAH i don't, know you play. DOWN i mean
the guard play is gonna be, tough.

Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
BUT i think he would. Be he's an above average, player.

Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
THOUGH i know he's The Chevy tracks of THE.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
Nba that's.

Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Fun Chevy tracks is an above average.

Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
Vehicle just now you, know all, Right, trey which player
would you? Choose is the only player?

Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
Whoops All Steven? Adams just a? Yeah that in The
Steven adams point. Guard how's that guy?

Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
