Speaker 2 (01:47):
Yeah, well you get used to it.
Speaker 1 (01:49):

Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Well one South Korean one equals zero point zero zero
zero six nine United States dollars, so triple zero six.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
It translates to six dollars in eighty five cents US.
Imagine winning six.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Dollar taco bell to be half of Mega popcorn. Okak
you we are going to get into some NBA buy,
hold and sell. That's the main topic on the drop today.
You have worse to the week now is rapid fire fun.
JD's actually asking the questions this week. We got more,
but first, one game last night. Let's touch on it briefly.
(03:21):
Jalen Green shining in his Phoenix Sun's debut Phoenix Top
the Underman Clippers one fifteen one oh two, No Kawhi
no James Harden, but Jalen Green I thought looked pretty
damn good in his first game in a while here
in his first game in the sunthing.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
I'm spectacular, I will say, just in general, for people
who haven't watched the Phoenix Suns, this is a team
that has changed the vibes around this team entirely before
the season, no one really excited about this Phoenix Suns.
I heard people saying, hey, hey, don't sleep on the
Phoenix Suns. A friend of ours, not gonna name him
right now, but a friend of ours, So don't sleep
on the Sun's potential to make the playoffs. I said,
(04:00):
come on, I'm the biggest Jordan not fan. There is
the head coach coming in under the wing of Kenny Atkinson.
They're going to share the ball more, and that's exactly
what they're doing. They look like so much more of
an offensive basketball team playing together. I thought the possession
that stood out to me end of the third quarter,
the Clippers are making their way back from getting spanked.
(04:20):
It's eleven points going into the last possession of the
third quarter, and Devin Book.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
At the point guard.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
He might think, Okay, I'm just gonna dribble this thing
and take my own shot. He gets off the ball,
he gets way out of there. He tells Jalen Green,
who's playing in his first game, give the ball to
Royce White. Those guys Bryce O'Neill, Rice White.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Thought it. Yeah, he get on the bus. He's in
my algorithm for some reason.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
Anyways, so takes Royce O'Neil.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Is awesome.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
So those two guys kind of play catch together and
Devin Booker ends up getting the ball on the as
a secondary playmaker gets the ball, doesn't go shoot, it
creates for Grayson Allen in the corner o grace and
Allen hits it or not, doesn't matter he did. But
the point is that they're playing together. So they're just awesome.
Devin Booker the best start of his career. A guy
came into the offseason saying, you know what, we have
(05:12):
to work on everything, and he's just kind of kind
Was it wrong, No, it wasn't wrong.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
This dude.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
He's only now one of four players over the first
eight games of a season to score thirty points, have
five assists, shooting fifty and forty. It's just Steph Larry
Bird and Michael Jordan that have done that Dahn in
terms of those percentages. So he started off well and
Jalen Green, I don't know how the hell he started
off this well in just one game, twenty three minutes,
played twenty nine points.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
That was just absurd. Yeah, ten to twenty from the field,
six to thirteen from deep for Jayalen Green and his athleticism,
it did jump off the screen. You're like, oh yeah,
like right away, attacking the Clippers zubots a couple times,
just like really tough athletic finishes to get him going.
And then the three ball started to drop and the vibes, Yeah,
the vibes look great there in Phoenix one night against
(06:00):
the Clippers, actually all season long, and now he's in there. TK.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Your thoughts high, Well, I mean, the Sun stunk it
up to start the season, Let's be honest. They started
one and four. They were getting blown out in every
single game, even though Booker was going off thirty plus
in six of their nine games so far. But you
could tell last night twenty four points and seven assists.
What are a leaf to not have to do everything?
Jalen Green can catch fire from three, There's no doubt
about it. Six of thirteen. Like you're saying, he was
(06:23):
hitting wide open shots. A lot of these were not
a great defensive performance I thought from the Clippers. The
thing that was better though, to me about Jalen Green's
game last night, he was getting downhill with his drives,
either finishing at the rim or making smart passes out.
He went four for seven on two pointers. That doesn't
sound all that impressive, but the guy's never shot fifty
percent on twos in his career despite being a monster athlete. Yeah,
(06:45):
it looks like he hasn't lifted a weight in his
NBA career, but he felt stronger last night going at
zoo Bots and actually being able to finish inside. So
if he's able to mix in some smart drives stay
under control, he can definitely help this Sun's team. Do
I think they're a playoff team? Maybe a play in
team if I'm being quite honest, But great performance from him.
(07:06):
Booker looked good and looked like he had a normal
workload on him, which I thought was important. Then flu game.
Grayson Allen was incredible in this game. Eighteen points, four
to threes, four assists, three steals, and a block. He
was questionable going into this game because he was feeling
sick earlier in the day. So stay sick is what
I would say.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
Just so much more fun as a fan watching this
team play. I don't care if they finished thirty six
and forty six like they did last year. It's more
fun to watch it.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Wins and losses don't matter what this team they should
there you go. Yeah, HB is right.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
And I thought, look coming into the season, if they
are going to all buy into this team last year,
you would have seen more of those sort of possessions
that I hinted at. They just come on down to
fire that thing. Thirty second, forty six would be fine.
I mean, if they're in a play in tournament opportunity,
that's a big win for this team.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
We had Bradley Beal returning to Phoenix two right. Miserable
night for Breadley Beal. He looked absolutely washed one night
for Suns fans. Oh my god. Yeah. Bial was two
of fourteen from the field. He finished with five points.
He was booed during introductions, then he was booed every
time he touched the ball at least early in the game.
But he played so pearly that I thought the Suns
(08:17):
fans almost like scaled back on the booze. They started
to feel bad as the game went on, and they
took to Lee and the oh my god, they sort
of quit booing him as the game went on. He
was brute. Also a tweet going around last night Jalen
Green has done more in two minutes than Beal did
for the Suns in two seasons out. Maybe some truth
(08:37):
to that though, because Bill was bad and it didn't
go well in Phoenix. But yeah, the Suns fans were
happy last night.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Yeah, they were giving him the business. Well they did
the same for Kevin Durant. I don't know keep that
same energy because allegedly it was tension between Durant and
Beale that kind of derailed the Sun season last year.
But yeah, they were. They were booing him, and he
was quite deserving of it, and it, unfortunately has been
(09:03):
the case for Bradley Beal. He's averaging seven points per
game this season, shooting under forty percent from the field,
thirty three on threes. But for the Clippers right now,
no James Harden, they have no offense none thirty points
per possession per one hundred possession swing. When he's off
the court, they have so many guys on their team
that need a setup man. Chris Dunn needs a setup man.
Zubats finally had a good game. He hasn't looked great
(09:26):
to start the season, but he was hoopin last night.
Derek Jones Junior needs a setup man. Bogdanovic can't really
do it at this point while he's recovering from a
hamstring tear.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Just everybody.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
John Collins needs somebody to get them the ball, and
Harden is the only natural playmaker on this team. Beale
can't do it, Bogdanovitch can't do it. Harden is a
great playmaker. Kawhi can go get his own shot, but
he didn't play last night. So if Harden's not out there,
they just look old and rickety.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Yeah, but I thought there was a setup man sitting
on the bench waiting. Chris Paul could have played way more,
could have started last season. He can't hit shots, but
nine minutes and thirty seconds in this game, I thought
when he got out there, at the very least he
knows what he's doing. So I thought they just could
have used that old man who played last year as
a starter with the San Antonio Spurs, and I know
(10:15):
it's last year and maybe he's just too old, but
they're not even giving him the leash. And I see
all the comparisons of WHOA.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Maybe this team is.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
The Brooklyn Nets with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Okay,
I wouldn't quite go it wouldn't go that far. I mean,
this is James Harden. When he does play, He's still
James Harden in a way that he can carry this team.
But yeah, they look super old, and Beal's not surprised
as the old guy.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
That's why I thought.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Cep would play when we called this game yesterday, I
thought Sepe would play a lot more.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
It could happen. I have never regretted to pick him
pick more quickly in a game than I did this
one last night. And here's the reason why. With no
hard to, no Kawhi. The offense was Zubats. The offense
was that was it. And that's not like a great
recipe for a four. The aim in a game. He
was given the Sons a business in the first half,
like they had their hands full with them. They didn't
really have an answer for him at sixteen points, a
lot of offensive rebounds, but like he was the Clippers offense.
(11:10):
Nothing else was happening. It had to go through Zoo
or had to go into Zoo otherwise it was like,
not a great shot, especially when Beale was struggling like
the way he was, and I was with you, I
took the clips. I didn't know Jaalen Green was going
to play too, but not that it would have maybe mattered.
He was awesome. I don't think anyone expected him to
play that well in his first game. But yeah, not
a good sign when it's all Zoo time, that's gonna
(11:31):
be a long game. Yeah, especially it was. I was
tied at half. Yeah it was close.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
It was, but when you see the third quarter turned
into a twenty point lead, you know the old guys
aren't coming back. They kind of fought a little bit,
but no one expected Jalen Green to play this well
in his first game. Assistant coach Jesse Murmis was interviewed. Wow,
ad half, Who the hell is that, Jesse Murmis.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
It's a great name.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
It is of Jordan O.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Yes, yes, a friend of Jordan.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Not wearing great sunglasses, wearing the bright orange sunglasses. Because
you've got to notice these here we're showing to use
on YouTube.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Okay, I didn't know his name. Yeah, those are brighter
than our classic factory. Yeah, Sun's glasses. Yeah all those.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
Yes, he is this assistant coach who's bringing so much
positivity to this roster. He's wearing the glasses. He's a
good coach.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
And that he's patient and he's positive.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
And he didn't even expect John Green said, well, the
first question was about John Green. He said, Wow, when
you're shooting like that and you're scoring, and he's pretty
good smiling all the time. So he's a good coach.
But I don't know how they have it. I mean,
they were up twenty. Ryan Dunn was playing defense three
quarters court. He's pressing full press, they're balling. It's surprising
to see all that they're.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Playing with some joy. It does help on the basketball
court team. Yeah, because Dylan Brooks obviously is still out
of the line, so he'll come back to I'll get
them something else.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Guy, I'm just laughing at Dylan Brooks sitting on the bench,
which is sunglasses. You know, where's some Jesse Murmis glasses.
Those look cooler. Can pull those off.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Off. I mean they should do it. Giveaway in the
Phoenix Arena for orange sunglasses. First ten thousand people should
get orange sunglasses.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Get your Murmis is down at the mortgage matchup arena
looking Jason is that he said, Jesse Murmas.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Jesse Murmis.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Okay, nobody's on he brought up top. The guy's kept
the Blazers looking incredible.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
So Jesse Murmis. I'm a fan of Jesse Murmis will
be in the Hall of Fame in twenty years.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
Testas called he knows how to player develop I'll tell
you that he's with the Raptors.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
He was with uh, lots of guys, lots of he's
coach Lebron. I'll say he's coach leb deep dive on this.
But I know Jess. I know Jess well do you
know him personally?
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Know?
Speaker 5 (13:53):
And he wasn't the guy that said that you shouldn't
underestimate us.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
That wasn't him.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
Why I hinted at the beginning of my friend, Jesse's
not my friend going to make this team. No, that
coach didn't say that, but he's got the positive Yes.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Sure, okay, all right, that's enough Suns Clippers talk. Let's
get in.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
We do have Auar super chat sending in for JD
Happy birthday friend, Jace Roy and Power Duster three thousand
and then that us currency.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Well, I'll tell you what task. It's your birthday on Monday.
It's my birthday on Tuesday. You're doing for Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Right back to you on Thursday, jd What what are
you guys thinking having summer birthdays?
Speaker 1 (14:30):
We're never doing shows. It's brutal you and me right
like basically in the same week. Yeah, it sucks. You
guys get all the attention you get All Star weekend.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
I know that's great.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
This guy gets the start of the season. We're just like,
we gotta pray there's an Olympics going on. Maybe we
flirt with our birthdays. Okay, So the NBA season is
two weeks old and change, which means we have just
enough data to start looking at some trends here. So
we thought it'd be fun to play a little NBA buy, hold, sell. Look,
(15:05):
I think most people know how this works. A buy
is a stock that an analyst thinks you should buy
now right it's going up in theory. A hold is
one an analysts thinks is good enough to keep in
your portfolio, but not worthy of additional investment. A sell
that's something an analyst thinks you should sell. Get off
of it, get out while it's maybe high, and you
think it's gonna go down. So that's the premise here,
(15:26):
Buy hold sell. First one, The Houston Rockets have the
best offense in the NBA so far, It's not even close.
Through seven games, the Rockets have scored the most points,
have the league's best offensive rating at one twenty two
point four, and lead the league in three point percentage.
So task I'll start with you buy hold sell Rockets
as the number one offense this year.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
I'm holding. Now, they're gonna calm down a little bit.
I say hold because I want to start with some
positivity because they were playing incredibly well. Look, they can't
keep shooting the three this well.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yeah, what are they at like forty three percent? Nearly
forty three? Yeah, So that's going to come down a
little bit.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
Tarry East and my man leading the league in three
point shooting at nearly fifty six percent. Crazy, you know
it's going to come down. There's some numbers that are
going to come down. But I kind of compare this
team to the twenty three twenty four Nuggets after they
won the title. They go and win fifty seven games,
and they were last in terms of three pointers attempted
per game. The Rockets are second last and three pointers
(16:24):
attempted per game. So I think that that'll hold right
near the bottom of that.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Yeah, And so the percentages aren't going to be all
that bad.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
You can say they're going to get even better for
some of them, like a Men Thompson, he's shooting seventeen
percent from three. I don't think, yeah, that's a whole
But overall, Udoka's got a bunch of these guys playing harder.
We mentioned Jabari Smith's defense. It looks kind of like
Shngoon from last year. It looks like a new player.
There's these you know, the Josh Kogie plugins. So Dookah's
(16:53):
got them playing Josha Kogi. That's been good.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yeah, Like he's out different defensive purposes, always chipping in
like nine points per game, ten a game. And he's
hitting like he's one of these guys hitting over fifty
percent from three right now, not on high volume, but.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
That'll come down. That'll go, so I do. Yeah, the
forty three percent will come down whatever it's a number. Yeah,
bud Udoka has got all these guys going.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Okay, so you're holding you're saying like it's unlikely you
think the Rockets will have the number one offense at
the end of the season. But it's like in play here.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
It's it's in play the way the way that they're
functioning on offense, the way men Thompson doesn't have to
do as much on defense, so I had questions about
his ability to transfer defense to offense, but he's doing
fairly well.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Now. It'll all come down.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
So they may not be number one like those Nuggets
that I was talking about, their top five. So yeah,
at the end of the day, I don't care if
they're first, but they just they look wholesome. They look
right on the on the offensive.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Right wholesome.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Okay, Analyst TK, what are you doing. I'm buying this
as well.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
I'm buying him more as a top five offense, maybe
not exactly number one, and Task nailed it for all
the right reasons. The percentages will come down, but the
Rockets are only nineteenth in makes and twenty ninth in attempts.
That feels like that can maintain for the rest of
the season. And even if it doesn't, they're gonna be
first and offensive rebound rate. If you've got Steven Adams
on your team, you're gonna lead the league in offensive
(18:15):
rebounding their fourth and free throw rate.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I totally buy both of those.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Yeah, just because they're a bunch of big guys, they're
going to draw fouls, get to the line and knock
them down.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
They can even make a move if they want to.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Once we get to like December fifteenth, some guys become
a little bit more tradeable. Maybe they decide we do
want another guard. They could move Fred van Vleek's contract
if they want to. Seems like a cold hearted move,
but when it's all about the numbers, they could do
it if they wanted to. So the Rockets offense has
been surprising to me, but it feels pretty real.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Yeah, I'm with you, guys. I'm right there, either hold
or by You know again, is it top one or
top five in terms of offensive rating at the end
of the season. Yeah, it's more likely top five. But
their stars are performing Katie Shengoon and then on Men
Thompson who's level up. But all these other guys like
Jabari Smith, his confidence I think you can see growing
from game to game. That's awesome. You brought up Steven Adams.
(19:07):
I mean the guy is. I mean, he's one of
the best offensive rebounders of all time at this point
with these numbers. Josha Kogi, as we talked about, you're
dokame man. Guy's a damn good coach and they have
an identity, and yeah, I don't see why it's going
to fall off a cliff even if those three point
numbers come back to earth a little bit.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Yeah, and they've just bought in in terms of who is
starting each possession because it doesn't have to be men Thompson, nobody,
nobody has a true point guard anymore. A lot of
the time it's everybody contributing, and they're all doing enough
to help start up these possessions.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
So all good.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
Somebody should be ai ing Steven Adams saying I am
the best offensive rebounder in the history of this game.
Why he should say that. Russell Wesbork just said he's
the best rebounding guard. Why isn't somebody creating that ais everywhere?
Somebody should be doing that, Okay, because will he ever
say that? No, No, I guess.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
I don't think he would have seen that. I might
pretty good. All right. You guys, notice there's a Jesse
Murmis over her. Oh JD feeling himself on his brought that,
pulled that in. He pulled that in.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
Uh there was a game call there, so to bring
him in real early, I was just I had so
much Murmis in front of my face. I think it
helps that the monitor that I watch on is like
right in front of my face, so that Murmis, those
Murmius glasses are right up in my grill.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Moving on Murmis, it's Murmiss, Dad, mr miss. All right.
The Orlando Magics three and five start to the season
after they proclaimed, you know, championship intentions or to make
a deep run, has everyone feeling a little uneasy here
to start. They haven't looked that great. I haven't looked themselves.
So by hold cell, Jamal Moseley, as the Magic's head coach,
(20:51):
Tko starts to I'm selling whoa I'm selling.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
I think it's uh, they're gonna have to do something
year five in Orlando. For Jim Moseley, he gave him
an identity, he installed the defense. He took him from
lottery to playoff team. That's kind of what they seem
to be plateauing at right here, haven't yet won a
playoff series, and they're all in on this team with
(21:15):
very little chances to upgrade. Since they made the Desmond
Bain move. They brought in KCP didn't change the offense
at all. They brought in Desmond Bain didn't change the
offense at all. I don't know if you guys saw
an Yekka Congu's interview after the Hawk's Magic game, you know,
Bain spike and spiked it on his face, and Congu's like,
I didn't even realize he spiked the ball on my face.
(21:37):
But he looks pretty frustrated over there, and I don't
blame him. You got Polo and Franz taking all the
shots he.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Was going in. It was awesome, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
I was like, I didn't realize there was this big
of a beef between the Hawks and the Magic. But
he's kind of right. Bain doesn't look comfortable. He's basically
thrown out his rookie year, basically lows and everything you said, shots,
true shooting percentage. They're just having him stand around. They're
not really empowering him at all. And this was their
big move that was supposed to take him over the top.
(22:08):
I think the good thing is that they're playing defense again.
They're now up to twenty third or no, I think
they're a little bit higher than that. Actually, sorry, they're
up to fourteenth. They had good games against the Hornets
and Wizards. Those are their two wins that have kind
of steadied the ship for them. They lost to the
Hawks as well, a team that they're in the same
tier as. But if you're only able to beat the
(22:30):
worst teams in the league, guess what, you might be
a bad team. So I think eventually, since they can't
change the players, they're going to change the coach.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
I agree they were going to make that change if
things don't go well until what the schedule mark is
for me, I don't know, but I think it would
be like thirty to forty games. I think they're going
to give him some time. Yeah, but they are going
to give him a little bit of hold. Considering he's
been there for so long, They're going to give him
some time, I should say. The worrisome part is they're
(23:01):
letting their offense dictate their defense. It seems like to
me when watching them, they knew who they were last season.
The season before that they were a great defensive team.
And the scary part is, as he said, Tray, they've
kind of become a middle of the road team defensively.
But that's just after two questionable teams that they beat.
I don't see that fight. The Paalo Bancaro thing that
(23:22):
you know we mentioned a bunch of times he ain't
playing well, that's for sure. Does he have to play
in a different way? I think so, And I think
that comes from a little bit more creativity. I think
that's just like pick and roll, get your switch and
move in to operate as an ISO with him, and
I think that comes from Jimal. Mostly their offense is
a little predictable, dribble, hand off, one pass, here we go,
(23:46):
and yet Bain is suffering because of that, so they
don't know who they are. And then once those possessions
go bad, the defense goes bad. So mostly we'll bite
it at some point.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
I guess I'm agreeing with you guys. Maybe not as
extreme as Trey with the cell, but yeah, a hold
because he's going to get a little bit more time.
This isn't happening. I don't think you know next week, Yeah,
maybe it's thirty or forty games. Whatever. It is interesting
point from the Orlando Magic Daily. They noted yesterday Moseley,
and this goes back to what you were sort of saying. TK.
Mosley has not yet have to face like any sort
(24:14):
of combative questions from the Orlando media because his four
years with the Magic have largely about their been about
their team's rise. Right. So they go from a tanking
team to an up and coming team to a playoff
team that was putting up pretty good fights in the playoffs,
few bumps in the road. So this is all new
because now there's expectations that they put on themselves that
the rest of us put on them, and they're floundering
(24:36):
right now. I guess the recent practice saw the Magic
working on defensive rotations and playing defense without fouling, which
has done the man and better offensive spacing. So I'm
a hold on Moseley. There's still time to figure this out.
You guys. You know when I was saying the guy
is falling with the raptors early and get Darko out
of here. You guys made up a good point or
brought up a good point like it's the East relaxed.
(24:59):
You know, you can put together one or two good
weeks and you'll be right back near the top. So
they have that going for them too, but it's been bad.
They're not a fun watch either.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
They're not a fun watch. Paulo's regressed. Yeah, franz Wagner
has regressed because Paolo has regressed, but it still takes
up such a huge portion of the possessions. Like they're
not using Franz Wagner enough. And he's a much more
efficient player, but you can't play Polow off the ball
because he's not really that good of a shooter. Yeah,
so they've got a lot of structural problems there, and
(25:27):
I don't think Mosley's the guy who can fix it
because he's never put together a good offense.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
Yeah, I was surprised when you said that this is
his fifth season.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
And maybe it's in part he's been there a long time,
but it's a long time coaches right now.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Yeah, And when you mentioned Skeets that he hasn't had expectations,
I think that's part of why I thought he's been
there a full two seasons. But it just feels it
feels like a shorter period. It's kind of like JB.
Bickerstaff with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who was there for four years,
and the expectations went sky up and they said, no, this,
(26:01):
we can't do it. Let's get somebody else in there.
Here comes Kenny Atkinson. Now that was an end of
season move, so it's different than this, but that seems comparable,
all right.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Next one here Cooper Flag's stats. They perked up a
little bit here in November. His scoring, his rebounding have
gone up, but he's still not wear a lot of
fans and critics expected. Remember, this guy was the odds
on favorite, according to FanDuel to win the Rookie of
the Year. He still is. At last check, he's the favorite. VJ.
Edgecomb right on his ass, though Cooper's at minus one
(26:31):
twenty five to win Rookie of the Year, but by
holder Cell tasks Cooper Flag winning Rookie of the Year.
Where are you at now after a couple of weeks?
This is a fun one.
Speaker 5 (26:40):
I'm buying because I think I'm all about value and
I don't think you'll ever get better value on a
buy than you do right now. I think just the
fact that Cooper Flag has gotten off to this poor start.
That being said, it's VJ Edgecombs Rookie of the Year
right now, I would say, and then it's Cooper sort
of that second tier with a bunch of guys, and
(27:01):
so he's not far off. But here here the possibilities
or the probabilities why I think Cooper could jump up first,
has Paul George coming back at some point, so he
shoots less. I imagine that will happen. Cooper Flag is
still going to get plenty of opportunity with Dallas, a
lot of it. They need guards and they need ball handlers,
(27:21):
and that ain't getting filled the way Paul George is filling.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
VJ. Edge comes and Dallas's offense has to get better.
They are literally can't get worse. They really can't get worse.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
So we'll get to them a little bit later and
Worse of the Week with Klay Thompson thrown in there.
But I think that's all positivity for Cooper Flag, who's
really been thrown into it as an eighteen year old.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Kay. So, like you said, you're sort of buying low here.
I'm buying people are sort of getting off some Cooper
Flag stock here as they're seeing some of these other guys,
and then Task is buying it up.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
What about u TK, I'm holding okay, Like Tasa is saying,
he is not the rookie of the year right now,
I don't even think he's in the second tier. If
I'm being quite honest, Edgecomb would be the guy he's
kind of settled in to be in a good rookie
after having a Wilt Chamberlain start. His numbers have kind
of come back down to, you know, like fifteen points
per game, which is.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Like a normal good rookie out there.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
I think konk Nipple is still ahead of Cooper Flag
right now. He's been really, really steady as advertised, knocking
down the threes and just looks like he has a
lot of savvy out there. Hornet's aren't winning games, just
like the Mavericks aren't winning games. And I think Cedric
Coward is also ahead of Cooper Flag. He's fifty forty
and ninety. They need to start this guy immediately.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
He's got the.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Best advanced stats of any of the rookies right now.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
But eventually Kyrie.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Irving is going to come back for the Mavericks. They're
saying maybe in twenty twenty five at the latest, twenty
twenty six he's coming back from an acl in March,
Like that's a nine month recovery, so he's going to
be back soon. And once he's back, taking some pressure
off of Cooper, that's really gonna help him.
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Yekay, Jason Cape could do that himself by playing more
point guards. But that being said, yeah, it would help
Kyrie out there. But yeah, just going through the rookie numbers, Yeah,
Nippole has been freaking awesome, freaking efficient, says your cow
also in that family, and then you know you're Dylan Harper.
I was out now, Yeah, who's out now? And then
it's Jeremiah Fears and others. But yeah, I loved Cooper
(29:11):
into that second tier, but the Canipple has been I.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Don't think it's that far off. I what Treys saying too.
If like they're making the list today, you probably have
Cooper anywhere between two and four probably on this list,
whether you have Coward and Canipple above them. But we're
talking at the end of the year here, we're projecting.
I think holds the right call on this. Yeah, man,
it's a good call. And maybe even the Bily he
said it like he's only he's the youngest of all
(29:34):
these guys is the other part of this, right, Cooper,
he's eighteen years old. You guys have seen the stats
I'm sure, going around of all the other you know,
really good superstar eighteen year olds, and how slow they started,
like even Lebron's and Dwight's and you know the number
of guys like McGrady and stuff like that. The stats
are like, we're minuscule for some of them. And he's
still putting up stats. He's been thrown into the fire.
(29:56):
He's probably being asked to do way too much. Yeah,
we've agreed on that. So yeah, okay, fire hole. Probably
most people are going on Cooper.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
Yeah, he looks young, and we said Cedric Coward looks
old as a twenty two year old monstrous man. But
that guy's shooting fifty forty ninety. Some incredible stats for
Cedric Coward. Canipple again, really good stats. But I will
say this about Cooper Flags since stats are fun. He's
shooting one hundred percent from the free throw. I saw
that hasn't missed.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
What's yeah, how many attemps? Now I gotta do it?
Can't do that many? I wasn't I wasn't prepared for that.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
Totals totals, totals twenty one for twenty one, Well, okay,
a little.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Higher than I thought. Actually, I thought you're gonna tell
me thirteen for thirteen, twenty one for twenty one.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yeah, Unfortunately, if your best status, you haven't missed the
free throw yet, it's not a good start.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Not a good start. No, I mean, tell me tell
me what Cooper's been good at so far this year.
Transition awesome.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Defensively, he's been okay, okay, yeah, sure, the old five blocks,
I mean they're fine.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
He's shooting under forty percent for ye all of his baskets.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
It's a transition.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
In his defense, it's like almost impossible to say. He's
playing with like four other goddamn power forwards. He's like
Jason Kid is doing the weirdest thing right now, where
mass fans are like getting extremely upset, like what are
we doing here? Okay, now Russell's in the starting lineup,
maybe that changes some things, but it's a weird makeup
of this team and the guys kids playing. So I'm
(31:20):
giving him the benefit of the doubt. I still have
all the faith in the world he's going to be
a superstar. He's got to be great.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
But this is not a good start.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
No, no, no, definitely right next one. Here, here's the
team having a good start. The Bulls have been the
biggest surprise of the season. I think that's fair to say.
They're out to a six and one start, best record
in the Eastern Conference. They had that twenty four point
comeback against the Sixers on Tuesday night, A breath of
fresh air for Bulls fans. I mean this team, this team.
We're always making fun of the middling team, the team
(31:49):
on the treadmill of mediocrity, and here they are tk
top of the East. So by holder, sell Chicago Bulls
in the playoffs. That's all we'll ask this. Not championships,
buy holders, sell Bulls. I guess top six. Okay, yeah,
I think that's fair. Yeah, they're currently still favored to
make it. Via fan Duel, I would say the smart
move here is to hold. They got six of their
(32:12):
next seven games on the road.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
They got the Bucks and the Cavs and their home
against the Spurs, followed by the Pistons, Jazz, Nuggets, and
Blazers down the road. If they make it through that,
like playing five hundred basketball. You're buying immediately and guess
what I'm buying no matter what.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Oh yeah, you're buying bull stock, buying bullstock.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
It feels like twenty one to twenty two all over again,
when they were the talk of the league. Look how
fast they're playing. We got Lonzo Ball giving it up
to Alex Caruso on the fast break. They did make
the playoffs, but they completely fell off in the second
half of the season. They finished as the sixth seed
that year. They're getting Kobe White back soon. That's gonna help.
(32:50):
He was in the mix with Giddy for their best
player last season. He's a perfect fit with this team.
They need some three point shooting as well. Vouch is
literally the best clutch player in the league right now
percentages wise, hit the big shot against the Sixers, obviously,
I think their defense is gonna sort of hold up.
(33:10):
Numbers have like normalized.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
They're giving up.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
Thirty five percent from three right now, which is good.
You know, the Sixers shot it pretty well. The Knicks
shot it really well in their two games. But the
thing the Balls are doing is they're just giving up
twos to take away three. They're gonna limit the attempts
and then just let Fucci get scored on basically, so
you know it sucks for him, he's gonna be on
the wrong end.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Of a bunch of highlights.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Yeah, but three is more than two, so you'd rather
give up the twos. Looking at the rest of the
Eastern Conference, I think you would say New York, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee,
lock them in. Those are like the pretty in the
playoff teams for me right now.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Yeah, I agreed. And then it's a big jumbled mess
where the Bulls are probably in.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
Bulls, Sixers, Hawks, Raptors, he Heat, Celtics, and Orlando might
still get qushed into it. So there's two top six
spots for seven teams. We'll see whoever stays healthiest. Probably
are the two teams that make it without going through
the play in tournament. But that's another like feather in
(34:11):
the cap for the Bulls. They've got a lot of guys.
They're sustaining two injuries to rotation guys right now in
Kobe and Zach Collins as well would be one of
their first guys off the bench were he healthy as well.
So I think they can keep it up. And you know,
I think to get to the sixth seed in the
Eastern Conference. You don't got to win that.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Man.
Speaker 6 (34:29):
I already got six, so that's great, that's right. I
gotta win like forty more games or something like that. Yeah,
they always win thirty eight games. So just start the
season now thirty eight wins plus six forty four. That
might be home court advantage.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
We'll see. Sure, what do you think buy hold cell
on the Bulls playoffs chances? I'm holding okay.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
It does help that teams like Indiana and Boston with
their injuries, aren't playing all that well, and one has
become even more injured. I think it's going to come
down to the wire. Adam Silver must be extremely happy
that there's so many teams in there amongst this group.
They are playing hard defensively, as you said, they kind
of have come back to earth. Especially when you're one
(35:07):
in five, you're Giddy and your vouch. They're gonna get
beat defensively over and over. But they are playing with length,
they are playing with a little bit of heart, So
I think it will go down to the wire really,
and obviously Giddy playing at his best helps their offense.
They're gonna score points. The guys getting everybody the ball
they can shoot. The question is, yeah, with defense, if
(35:28):
they get is they get it, you know a little
bit relax on that end. Then they have to outscore teams.
But they're outscoring teams right now.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Oh yeah, an identity they exactly. They play super fast.
I think it's like takes like five seconds for them
to get into their first action, which like ranks second
or third in the league. That's by way of Fred Katz,
Fred Katz on the boulevard. Thanks for that, Fred, But yeah,
the big question I guess I'm holding can the defense
keep up here? Because it's a funny game plan. It
is like stay attached to the three point shooters, like
everybody get on the perimeter, vouch good luck back there, buddy.
(36:01):
It's like, uh, it's incredible because they don't have a
rimp protector that's not vuc. It's like a stampede to
the paint here. The Bulls give up more attempts and
more makes in the restricted area than anybody, but they're like, well,
it's better than guys reigning threes on us. I guess uh.
I can't wait to see Yannis tonight against the Bulls.
That guy's like hitting eleven shots per game in the
(36:22):
restricted area. How many could you have tonight against against
your Bulls. It could be a lot of dunks, but
you know, maybe they get it back on the other end.
That's how they're sort of playing. So I'm a hold.
I think they're you know, they're right there. They've proven
with the Hawks, the magic, the Sixers, the heat, you know,
Raptors probably a little bit down, but yeah, I do
have the Pistons just above them. The Bucks. I don't know,
(36:44):
we'll find out. Maybe tonight, maybe it will be Honest
scoring fifty on them.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
And he's had some success in his career against to
Chicago Bulls.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Yeah, but the good point about the depth, I mean,
it's a long season. Guys are gonna get injured, and
they've they have so many guys, six guys scoring in
double figures right now. They get Kobe White back, that's
another guy. I don't see why he won't fit with
what they're doing. Hey, move the ball, play fast, score
and then just stay out on the three point line
as much as you can stay attached to shooters. So yeah,
they got they got the depth to handle an injury
(37:11):
or two.
Speaker 5 (37:12):
Our tourists Currentishavis was right about that. We're just wanting
a bunch of good guys. That's literally what he said.
It was trying for a bunch of good guys.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
They're good, they're they're doing that.
Speaker 5 (37:23):
Andy was watching Voch kind of have to be there
in front of the rim as guys come at it.
It's sort of like what the Nuggets do with Nikola Jokic.
All right, yok, you know, just be huge, you don't
have to block anybody and just get the ball and push.
And they're doing that pretty well. And Billy's Billy's got
a bit of a whip.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
You know.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
He yanked Matas Buzelas when he wasn't trying. So that's
a good thing that they're is the.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Benefit of having all these good guys. He's like, hey,
good guy one, you're out, good guy, You're give it
a go. I can't believe I'm gonna say this too.
I like having the Bulls being a better team in
the NBA. I think it's good for the league.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
It is.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
And again I don't like these two teams. I cheer
for them because of Trey, but it's true the Knicks
being good and the Bulls being good it's better for
the NBA ecosystem. I believe the media at least part
where people are talking about them taking note of them.
They're huge market, so I mean that's big play.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
I'm looking forward to some games getting flexed on the
national TV. They only had three games on National start
the year. They should be on NBC all the time.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Yeah, I mean lean into the nostalgia maybe.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
Yeah, ask Michael Jordan about the Bulls. I want to
hear about Michael Jordan thinks about Isaaca Korra. I've always
wanted to know.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Do you think Turco asked him that in July at
his house, though, something tells me no better. Hope there's
a second interview. Yes, so they only have three the
entire season. What, Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, that's very low.
All right, next one here. His team still stinks, but
Wizard's big man Alex Sars having a great second season.
His averages are currently at nineteen points eight point four rebounds,
(38:57):
nearly four assists, including an efficient fifty four from the
floor forty five from three. Not high volume, He's got
eighteen blocks over eight games. Test by hold Cell Alex
Sar's sophomore leap.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
I like it, So I'm holding whether you want to
buy it or not, because these numbers will come down.
That being said, I think he has grown. He came
to the league great defensive player, and then we watched
him last year. He did have a couple good months
shooting the three. He had that in his bag to
some degree. But I think the way he puts the
ball on the floor now is entirely different.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
He has grown.
Speaker 5 (39:31):
You have to go guard him at the three point
line or else you're gonna let him rip. But I
think his three point shooting will be really good no
matter what. And then he's able to dribble and put
it into the mid range and stop and actually score
and he can. He even put one through his legs
at the three point line and ripped it. So I
think he's he's grown and he's shown that the defense
(39:52):
will always be there. The three point shooting I think
is going to be good, and his handles have been good,
So I think he's grown. I think, yes, the leap
is real because he's he's gotten better.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
Yeah, I think I'm a by on this. I like
what I see. I like his shot. Diet is better too.
You say he can hit the three point and he'll
let it rip, and he did. I think he just
did that way too much last year. He's he's cut
that out a little bit and realized, oh, yeah, I'm
a twenty foot seven footer. Sorry, I'm a twenty year
old seven footer with crazy athleticism. I should be not
(40:22):
shying away from contact. I should be going at guys
and putting my chest into them. And he's doing it more.
More shot attempts are coming at the rim. So that's
good to see. I just I think a better balance here.
And obviously he still gives a great effort on the
defensive end, so fourth of the league in blocks, Like
he came in and there saying he's going to be
a defensive player and we'll see what he can do offensively.
And he's taking a step forward offensively. Less threes, more
(40:43):
free throws, better percentages, and he's making two pointers, which
is huge.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
Like the three pointers are almost gravy. I think with sorry,
but he's seven feet tall. You should be able to
score at the rim, and he is. I think about
the twenty twenty four draft a lot, like probably too much.
Paul's got the steal of the draft in Bozells but
I think Sar probably would go number one in a redraft.
Interesting if he's got some offensive talent like this. The
issue was that he didn't work out for Atlanta, played
(41:07):
here at Overtime Elite and said, I'm not working out
for the hometown team, so they took Reesis say, I
think it would probably go Sar Castle, Bozellis McCain, George Reesis,
Jay Clinging where something like that. Yeah, but I mean
a twenty year old defensive playmaker who can stretch the
court from the outside.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
That's a guy that goes first in most drafts. Yeah,
it's a good point. He already has two thirty point outings.
He had thirty one against the Celtics on Wednesday. He
only had one of those last season, only one really
big game, like I mean in today's NBA it's not
even all that much. But already two of them. Again,
he's playing with force. That's the best part. Better shot diet. Yeah, Unfortunately,
his team still stinks, but he has put to bed
(41:44):
the question of who's the best Wizards player because we
had that debate, yes, for a while during the offseason
when we were talking about the team heading into over
underwin projections. That was always coming up. Who's the best
player on the Wizards. Is it one of the old
guys they got? Isn't Middleton McCall, Is it you know whoever?
I was like, Okay, no, it is Alex Sar. It
is moving forward? Is that you can build around this guy?
Speaker 3 (42:06):
One?
Speaker 1 (42:07):
George is nice too. The idiot, I think, oh, yes,
he's good, he's nice.
Speaker 5 (42:11):
Yes, Sar has benefited from a guy who's grown alongside
him a little bit to handle the ball a little
bit more in Keyshawn George because he doesn't have to
shoot for three pointers as much. But you're right in
terms of just not just shooting far last threes. I
didn't realize how much he's dropped off because he hits him.
I had a really good percentage. But yeah, Alexandre damn Sar,
(42:31):
that's his name.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
I saw that this morning.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Alexander damn Sar. Yeah that's good. Yeah, when you see
him do something, well, damn sorry alex damn sorry. Next
one here. FanDuel has their own thunder tab right now
and whether or not they will set the NBA record
for most wins in a season. If you're a believer,
the FanDuel line right now on the thunder to win
seventy four plus games is at plus twenty eight hundred
(42:56):
by hold cell TK on OKC winning seventy four plus games.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
I gotta sell this one. I don't think seventy four
is gonna happen. I did the math. They're eight and
one right now. That's a seventy three win pace. Sorry,
you're coming up one win short. That's a plus twenty
eight hundred odds on FanDuel to eighty to one. But
they also offer fifty eight to one seventy plus wins.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Okay, I might have to hold that.
Speaker 3 (43:21):
Ooh, I think I was still selling, But call me
Carmelo Anthony because I'm on a hold back.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
They look great.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
They looks like the exact same team because they're the
exact same team and they haven't been healthy. They're actually
missing Jalen Williams for a slightly extended period of time.
Caruso has been out. They just rested, rested chat holmgrim
and the loss to the Blazers, it's kind of just
a matter of do they actually want to win seventy games.
I feel like a fool. I took the under on
(43:50):
sixty two and a half and that feels like a
lock to me at this point.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Yeah, me too. I was there with you. You went over,
but we went under sixty two and a half at
looking like an ever.
Speaker 5 (44:01):
Yeah, well they won two double overtime games. You know
those could have gone either way, and that's we're going
a different direction. But I think this seventy four plus
win season, that line came out when they were eight
to No. Right now they're eight and one. Things are different.
Doesn't change, But seventy you can start talking. I still
I still wouldn't do it. No, that's super high. Would
(44:25):
it be surprising though?
Speaker 1 (44:26):
No, they are, Okay, we're lining up teams that could
win seventy games. We're putting out OKAYC one Oh yeah,
but I don't think it's realistic. Feels like uneasy. Let's
call it sixty five sixty six win team and then
they'll decide how hard they push at the end. The
thing with them is like I want to know now,
I want to know how far they can go with this,
Like I want to know if they could take Sga
(44:46):
off the floor for a couple of weeks. There's no
j dubb Check barely plays or he's half in half
out because of his back. How many games could like
basically the B team thunder win in this league. There's
still win in a lot of games, not not six
ers center, but they're still winning a lot. And Sga
obviously makes it go. He's an MVP. He's underrated at
(45:07):
this point, I honestly believe. But they just have so
much talent. They'd still be a they'd be a forty
plus win team, I think easily. But maybe you need
the superstar to make it all work. I don't know
how they say that, yeah, who's ending? Who's ending games?
With this hypothetical, It's like aj Mitchell, It's like yeah,
really yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (45:27):
The question is that, ye, do they scale him back
at some point because he is playing a lot, leading
the league in every offensive category a bunch of minutes,
not every offensive category, but you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Do they look at the Golden.
Speaker 5 (45:39):
State Warriors when they won seventy three wins and fell
short in the playoffs and Steph says, because we kind
of pushed ourselves to win so many freaking games.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
Do they do that or are they just young enough
to be able to with stand it? Probably? I imagine Final
One as previously. As previously discussed, the Grizzlies suspended John
Morant earlier this week for conduct detrimental to the team.
His future with Memphis uncertain due to his inconsistent play,
the off court issues, obviously, his frustration maybe with the
(46:07):
coaching staff, the trade machine siccos are having a field day.
So buy hold cell task John Morant on the Grizzlies
by season's end? What are you doing here at this point?
Speaker 5 (46:19):
I'm selling this. I think the front office isn't getting
enough back. Number one, number two. I think they're just
going to withstand it because of that, because they're not
getting a lot back in the deal, and they're just
gonna say, job, live with it, man and try it out.
I could be wrong, I could go back the other direction,
but I'll say sell.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
Just but you're saying John Morant is going to be there?
Yeah exactly. Oh so you'd be buying this, wouldn't you? Oh?
Am I incorrectly interpreting. But anyway on the grizz Oh
you're right, yeah, No, you think he's going to be there? Yeah,
just because mainly there's not going to be all that
great a trade packages coming by.
Speaker 5 (46:57):
I think that's a big part of it. If in Memphis,
as long as Jaron Jackson Jr. Is okay comfortable enough
playing with John Morant, then yeah, I think they They
definitely want something decent coming back, and they're just gonna
try and withstand it.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
What do you think? I guess I'm a hold with
a lean towards a cell here.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
I think it's a hold right now because by all accounts,
Ja Morant hasn't made a trade request. But it doesn't
seem far fetched to me that John Morant would make
a trade request. He does not like the way he's
being used and subbed out. He's playing less than thirty
minutes a game, lowest of his career. They're running out
like a EuroLeague substitution pattern. He's not playing with Jaron
(47:42):
Jackson Jr. Nearly as much as he was. But something
I hadn't really considered that Sam Amock wrote up in
The Athletic is that the Grizzlies are working on a
new lease for their arena. You would like to have
a box office superstar if you're trying to sign a
lease with your arena, So maybe that complicates things as well.
The business part of basketball. The packages, like we talked
(48:06):
about earlier this week. They don't feel like they're going
to be very good, but that still might be better
than having a malcontent in the locker room. So it
kind of feels like either Ham or Thomas Hesilo is
going to be gone by the end of the season,
and who is management going to back.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
I'll tell you who's selling on this, Kevin Durant. Do
you gotta see the exchange between Kevin Durant and John
Morant's father, t had some fun trash talk going on
back and forth. You know, Katie will talk, Tim Mourant
will talk. But Katie dropped a ruthless line to Tim Morant.
He said, your son don't want to be here. We
know it's your last weekend, enjoy your time. So Katie's
(48:44):
selling on the idea of John Moran on the Grizzlies
by season end. As am I At a certain point,
You're like, I don't know, this headache is not worth it. Look,
we just we saw it happen with Jimmy Butler. Honestly,
it's there's differences, but it's the idea of like a guy,
a superstar can sort of like sort of like drive
your season into the ground and it can just be
a black cloud hanging over you, and it's tough for
(49:06):
the fans from the front office, and eventually, just like
I ripped the band aid off, Okay, what are we
getting back? One one first round pick and two maybe
more movable contracts, but that weight off our shoulders that
we can actually just focus on basketball. So I actually
think it will happen. I do, But it's really it's
really up to John Moran. His attitude, too, is the
main part. Like he can like sort of squash this
(49:27):
if he wants to, but I'm not convinced. Yeah, he
seems slighted.
Speaker 5 (49:31):
He seems bitter, that is for sure. But yeah, when
you say that they want a superstar there, it's like
the Clippers re signing Kawhi Leonard when they announced the
Inuit Dome is opening. They signed Kawhi Leonard to an
extension just to have him around.
Speaker 1 (49:49):
Oh yeah, they did some other things possible, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (49:53):
Plants on trees in Memphis and John Morant will be happy,
I guess. But they are playing different Like last year,
John Rant did take a step back in terms of
minutes and all that, and he's kind of playing similar
to that, and so maybe he's just bitter that he's
been there for says now year seven being there in Memphis,
that's a long time.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
All right, let's take a break and when we come back.
Worst of the Week nominees.

his birthday. Make sure you subscribe podcast listeners, five star
ratings and reviews, and when you do your reviews, say
happy birthday to JD. Of course. Okay, let's get you
worst of the week, ladies and gentlemen, the worst of
the week. Yes, the nominees.
Speaker 5 (52:14):
Yeah, three fun nominees. I asked people out there, who's
your worst of the week, some really good ones and
included Eric Spolsa unfortunately not a real worst of the week.
The man's house was lit on fire, so very very
unfortunate news there seeing those flames. It's unfortunate thinking about
Eric Spulstra in his scenario. There nobody injured, right, which
is the good news of that. That is the good news.
(52:36):
Let's get to our nominees. Some bad news, some bad
news in Dallas. So the first nominee is Klay Thompson
and the Mavericks because they stick.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
But I was starting with Klay.
Speaker 5 (52:45):
Thompson because it's not often you see a guy who
is so freaking good at shooting the ball lose the
ball the way he did lining it up for that
three like he does and it just going out of
bounds over his head.
Speaker 1 (52:58):
He just lost it. Shut it backwards.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
Yeah, it's a clip.
Speaker 5 (53:02):
It's so hilarious and he's so mad. He kind of
did one earlier against the Rockets this season from up top,
so it didn't go out of bounds. This was way
worse because it literally went out of bounce and you
can just stop and.
Speaker 1 (53:14):
Just shake your head.
Speaker 5 (53:15):
Unfortunately, now Clay is saying he is feeling good despite that.
After that game, he said, quote, I'm gonna do great things.
That's coming. I know it is. I'm feeling like those
first five games were hard for me to get my
win and get my legs under me. Now I'm finally
feeling myself again.
Speaker 1 (53:30):
Even after that.
Speaker 5 (53:32):
Now you just know, as a shooter, when that ball
is just effortlessly flicking off your wrist, you know big
things are coming. He even came off the bench that game.
He hasn't come off the bench since his last year
in Golden State Wow, which obviously did not end well
in part because of that. Yes, yes, indeed, yeah, So
here we are. And I will say last year his
(53:52):
best months December and January he was cooking.
Speaker 1 (53:55):
Okay, got off to a slow start.
Speaker 5 (53:57):
Maybe it's not coming in November, but it will come
probably at some point. So the Maverick's worst offense in
the league just a bad situation all in m yep.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
He did go three for six that game, including one
backward shot, and his career splits. He gets better as
the season goes on, But when he came to Dallas,
he signed up to get wide open shots from Luka Doncic,
and now he's getting covered shots from a variety of
power fends and Mike You're saying he didn't want to
come off the bench when he was in Golden State.
(54:29):
So it's just a disappointing start to the season for
Klay Thompson here, and if he buys into a ben roll,
maybe that's better for him at this point.
Speaker 1 (54:39):
That's a good call, all right.
Speaker 5 (54:40):
Second nominee here, the Hospital Pacers they're gone him. The
Indiana Pacers are just banged up, so we go back
tyrese Alburn obviously injured last year. Then you lose Miles Turner,
and it just gets worse and worse and worse. TJ
McConnell hasn't played yet. Andrew Dampart, the guy was supposed
to replace Tyres Haliburn, got hurt in the first game,
hasn't played yet. Hasn't played since. Excuse me. Dick Mathern
(55:00):
played two games to start the season, hasn't played since
those will be topping played three games and out. I
mean that is a lot. They signed Mac McClung, they
even waved Mac McClung.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
Poor guy. They're one and seven.
Speaker 5 (55:14):
And it's it's just a bad start overall win. You
just went to the finals and then wow, what a turn.
So I'm named, you know, multiple guys from their starting lap,
two guys you know air quotes gone with Halliburton and Turner,
and then your your nam Hard and your Mathroo who's
supposed to fill in McConnell was supposed to fill in,
and your top and that's a lot of guys.
Speaker 1 (55:35):
And then other guys that are filling in for them
are then getting hurt in Johnny Furfy and Quintin Jackson,
Like yeah, it is crazy. Just keep going down the line,
guys continuing to get hurt. The hospital pacers bad. This
is a wash this season.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
This is a maybe it plays out of there, Maybe
they get a good draft pick and then they had
Halliburton next season.
Speaker 1 (55:57):
I don't know like the big guys are this year.
I know camboo Or is kind.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
Of a big guy, but I thinking he use a
big guy especially with Topping going down. Jay Huff hasn't
really impressed early on this year. It's too bad about
Furfy because when the team has this many injuries, you'd
love to see a young guy like get an opportunity.
Let's see what he can really do, because there just
wasn't a spot for him last year the Pacers were
super deep, didn't get a chance really to play their
(56:22):
first round pick. He looks like he's at least a
good athlete, but he's got a bad ankle. Not ideal now.
Speaker 1 (56:29):
Yeah, and sometimes he has some monster dunks. I've never
seen one personally, I've never seen a fir nah. No, No,
he doesn't have a famous one.
Speaker 5 (56:39):
I will say the hospital Pacers as a name, as
a as a nickname, I don't think that's going to stay.
Speaker 1 (56:46):
That's yeah, this is.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
Pretty good actually from E. C. Hendershot here in the
stream team Indiana patients.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
Oh, patients as in a hospital, yes, yes, not a
bowl of patience. He Miller once tried to sell us. Yeah,
Pacer once sold us a fule of patients, right that
Reggie Miller. Steve Smith, Oh, I thought it was Reggie Miller.
I thought it was Reggie Oh. Bad bad. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (57:10):
The corpse clippers is another one. People are thrown around
from the fact that they're old, not that they're dead.
Speaker 1 (57:16):
Deal looked like the one guy getting an opportunity because
all the injuries and playing. Okay, Jariss Walker. Yeah, in
the minutes I've seen he's not shooting the ball that well,
but like he's getting an opportunity. He's getting run. He's
getting run. Yeah, and obviously it wasn't getting a lot
of burn. But that guy was all he was like
a top ten pick, wasn't he number eight? Yeah, he
was pretty decent in the playoffs and then rolled his
(57:36):
ankle right before the Yeah, man, what's going on with
the pacers? All right? Indiana patients, I don't I don't
mind it. Yeah, I think that'll stick.
Speaker 5 (57:46):
That's why I thought the hospital pacer is kind of
a good sign that that won't stick. But I think
Indiana patients will stick a little bit more final nominee
here Jalen Brown's hair did it again?
Speaker 1 (57:57):
Oh my god, this.
Speaker 5 (57:58):
Time it was worse. So you know, his his hairline
is faded. Hairline is unfortunately sprayed in with black spray,
and it happened earlier on this season with og Annoby,
but this time when he did it to Kishawn George's
shirt under his jersey, he knew it was there at Kishon.
Speaker 1 (58:17):
George looked at it.
Speaker 5 (58:19):
Oh, Janoby didn't know it was there, but Kishon George
looked at it, and he had to know that, Oh,
you're still doing that. You're still coming back when you
said you're shaving your head. So I don't know what's
going on with Kishawn George and Jalen Brown streak again.
Speaker 1 (58:35):
Yeah, yeah, because it's on that shirt. It's something very
funny like reaction. He's like, what what? I didn't know
this was going to happen.
Speaker 5 (58:44):
Yeah, because play ended and he had the opportunity to
look at it.
Speaker 1 (58:48):
Yeah, this is a bad era for Jalen Brown to
be playing in when you're gonna spray your hairline. Because
more guys than ever to me, are wearing the white
T shirts underneath their jerseys. There's like one to three
guys a night on every team that are rocking these things.
They're looking like me on a pickup. Right, there's a
(59:09):
lot of T shirts right there are I'm telling you.
I was like formulating maybe some short content of the
the best T shirt team you could put together, right short, Yeah,
because there's a lot. But anyway, that means there's a
lot of white fabric out there. And if you've got
the spray on hair and you know you're obviously mixing
it up, you're gonna you're gonna smudge some.
Speaker 5 (59:26):
That being said, I'll debate that comment because it's a
sleep It's literally just a sleeve, you Knowlike.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
I would say, it's more likely for my head in
going by you to touch your sleeve than it is
like it was with O G in the middle of
his chest. That's pretty rare. What you got shoulder, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:48):
Your head, but you're playing you're playing defense with it
with the whole body.
Speaker 1 (59:51):
I know. But then you're going by me. You're going
by me. That's why you slide by it. Then you
slide by because you got all this spray paint on.
Speaker 5 (59:59):
It's like boxing or MMA they put on the vassaline. Yeah,
so you hit it and slide off. That's what a
T shirt is. So this was, this was rare. I
thought this was and again played dead. So keisha on
George looks at his arm, very very funny, and we
have it here.
Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
It is.
Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
Yeah, and Jaylen Brown being extremely funny tweeted the photo
of Kishawn George or tweeted the video of kishn George
and saying, AI is getting out of hand. Yeah, he's
pretending his fake I mean he is embracing it. As
we said on last week's Worse of the Week, he's
he's owning up.
Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
He's taking a while for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
Yeah, that's pretty funny. I have one more nominee I'd
like to throw at you, and I saw Trey share
it on his social media channels. But Worst of the
Week to the NBA YouTube page for continuing to push
what I call combo stats thumbnail bullshit. And here's the example.
Josh Giddy had himself a week back to back triple doubles.
(01:00:58):
But then they do this on the NBA YouTube page
where they combine the two games because they're showing all
the footage. I get that in the video, but you
can't put this on a graphic what a game, because
it was like Josh Kitty just had the greatest game
of all time. Fifty two points, twenty seven assists, twenty
four rebounds. That's on the thumbnail. Fifty five tacos, fifty
five PRIs fifty five pives. But you gotta stop doing this.
(01:01:22):
It was we were getting upset when they do the
US three guys from the Rockets, KD shngon on Me
and Thompson seventy eight point. No, they don't even say combined,
that's the thing. They just put seventy eight points. Okay,
we know they all had good games. Whatever. This is
even crazier though, because you are led to believe until
you read obviously the actual title for the thumbnail. This
(01:01:44):
is just clickbait. Man. I get it. We're in the
YouTube streets. I understand, yep, you gotta get people clicking.
But I this is too far. I don't like this.
That's Worse of the Week nominee to me. We're gonna
start doing this.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
Actually, every thumbnail should say one million subscribers.
Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
Well they got a million. Okay, no, not quite, but
I love.
Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
Those actually only for the bulls because it makes it
look like Josh Giddy is Will Chamberlain.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
Yeah yeah, the fifty good game, good game, pulled it out.
That's what's your opinion on all?
Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:02:15):
Overreacting No, you're not no, I know, I know you're
a thumb man. You like making the thumbnails and so
that that angers you.
Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
I get it.
Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
When you guys shared it, I said, that is that
is ridiculous. It should be focused on one, limited to
one game.
Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
And if you look, if you're you're gonna do that,
it's just a game like yeah, over two games or
back to back triple doubles or something. I don't know, yah,
put something small fun even check out go. I get it. Man,
they got me talking about it, you know, they got
people clicking on it. Well, what the hell did George?
Can you do? Oh? There's two games? I thought?
Speaker 5 (01:02:47):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
They also they're stretching out the like the length of
the condensed games.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Now they used to.
Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
Be like a maybe like a nine to twelve minute clip,
and now they're like seventeen minutes. They're also throwing up
a new thing game.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
I like that. I don't mind it. I like that
because that's like twenty six minute version. Yeah, I was
gonna say about thirty minutes.
Speaker 5 (01:03:05):
Yeah, yeah, that's Adam Silver said that it is a
it's a highlight league. And so I think they're saying, Okay,
you might not want to watch a whole game, what
about a fifteen minute or there you go?
Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
What a twenty minute, get your watch time up.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Watch time metrics are very important in YouTube.
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
I want to see a thumb nail on the NBA
YouTube page one billion minutes watched or something with Adam
Silver's face. I would love to see that. And then
it's just what would be the actual video? I guess, uh,
just Adam Silver looking at reports going nice. Goodness is good,
Goodness is good. Whoever came up with Game of the
(01:03:43):
night good stuff?
Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
How about how about a season long highlight pack for
every player with their total stats for the year combined.
It's like, wow, looka don just had twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
Don't give them idea and they do that. They do
it all right. So who do you think is the
winner of Worst of the Week from Tessa's nominees or
I guess if you want to chuck mine in there too,
let us know in the stream team, let us know
in the YouTube comments. Engage, engage, engage with the YouTube.
Speaker 5 (01:04:11):
I'll do a poll. I'll make a poll. Number one,
it's fun. Number two, there's not gonna be any fake
numbers or fake words in there. There's gonna be it's
a real poll about some fake stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
Okay, Well, tass is setting up our poll here, let
me set up tonight's pick them game. Lots of games
on tonight, lots of games on this weekend. NBA Cup
back in our lives. So we're picking a Cup game
because these two teams are in the same group, and
they're both one and oh, and they're two teams near
and dear to our heart. It's the Raptors at the Hawks.
(01:04:46):
Hawks favored by one and a half back in the
fortress the Raps. I don't know what I'm doing. I
don't know if I'm going down again tonight or not.
But this is a big game in terms of NBA
Cup tray, a huge cup. You're going Atlanta and you're
going Raptors. Yeah, I'm going Raptors.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
We'll see what happens here. This to me is like
kind of a prove it game for the Hawks. They
look so bad on opening night against Toronto, just got
the ball ran down their throats. Now things have changed.
Trey Young is out played in opening night and maybe
that helps the defense for Atlanta, but they got to
have a better effort after getting.
Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Smoked in game one of the season test. Is this
a reverse jinks from you as a Raptors fan and
somebody struggling right now and pick them. That's what I
was wondering, Going Hawks, I'm planning to go over for
the entire month. Never been done, ever been done the
history of the show. Yeah, it isn't. I do think
you have.
Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
The Hawks are trying to avenge that loss that was
embarrassing in Atlanta, So you're on that same floor. You
got to come out and play hard. They will share
the ball a little.
Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
Bit more, but the Raptors should win this game.
Speaker 5 (01:05:50):
They have so many freaking talented guys that should be
sharing the ball themselves. We'll see if they're able to
play a little deep. That's the question. That's more of
the question than anything.
Speaker 1 (01:05:59):
Okay, So Tray and I with the Raptors, got one
point to play with. Because the Hawks are favorites one
and a half. Task needs them to win by two
or more. We'll find out tonight. NBA Cup action again,
lots of games on. All right, it is Friday, which
means it's rapid firetime. JD. You got the question because
it's your birthday.
Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
Well what are we thinking? No, No, that's half time.
I bad, my bad, I got it all, I got
it all mixed up.
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
Sorry, that's gonna be the first time we ever had
an E block. That's the E block.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Well an E block?
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
Yeah, hold on, hold on, hold on, I really screwed Jay. Hey,
I mean now I have to check our collective men.
Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
No, you are correct, I'm looking right at it. Okay. Anyways,
rapid firetime. First question. David Menneman tweeted at JJ Reddick
quote after the Dodgers won the World Series, Boo Reddick
said he became a Dodgers fan while he was a Clipper,
but refused to go on the JumboTron at the games
(01:06:58):
because he knew he'd get booed as a Clipper. What's
something you're involved in that is a little bit embarrassing
to admit, Skates, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
Talking a lot about YouTube on today's show, but I
want to read a few YouTube titles of my thing
that I'm I guess a little embarrassed to admit. Here
they are quote. These new holiday boxes are amazing. These
are all in caps locks. By the way, I went
crazy and spent thirty thousand dollars on the biggest kaboom
Hunt ever Final one, opening twelve thousand dollars boxes of
(01:07:31):
Panini's last ever immaculate basketball. I am J Skeets. I'm
a grown ass man, and I watch people open sports
basketball cards on YouTube, specifically a guy named pac Man
legend hashtag riskin biscuit TK. I love it. It's one
(01:07:54):
of my favorite things to watch right before going to sleep.
It is boring, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
It is.
Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
What's just enough to keep this sort of awake? Yeah,
pac Man my favorite. The dumb amount of money this
guy drops on this stuff, Like I said, thirty thousand dollars,
twelve thousand dollars like task. These videos are like hours
long just opening up cards. What about the koboom cards? Well,
boom sound kabooms are expensive I're searching for. But yeah,
I watch a lot of this. Also, I just consume
(01:08:20):
a lot of card content, if I'm being honest, podcasts
and stuff and youtubees. So podcasts huh yeah, yep, Hey, we.
Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
All have our interest, no judgment.
Speaker 1 (01:08:32):
Hey, hey, substack. One of these days, I'm opening up
cards on our substack, So that's another reason to go subscribe.
Yeh yeah. Do you guys mind if I use some
company money? Okay, I'm kidding, but that's my thing. I'm
admitting here. I'm a pac Man head.
Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
Hey, I subscribe to pac Man on YouTube and Instagram.
Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
Oh very nice.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
That was a pack that was part.
Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
Of the pack for I do love him. Yeah, I
love his face is when he looks at the that's
his guy, Right's right? Yeah, yeah, he's a huge beanhead.
Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
Didn't you guys open a bunch of packs yesterday on
the day before.
Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
Digital packs? That's right? I love opening things. Is awesome,
but I'm doing cards. Eventually we'll get to it on substack.
I want to upgrade my phone. I got an old iPhone.
I'm due for an upgrade. I need better quality JD.
I want to talk to you about overhead shot and
also reaction shot. We're making this a production. Okay, problem?
Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
Uh Tassy, what's something you're involved with that's a little
embarrassing to admit.
Speaker 5 (01:09:35):
Well, I've been opening some things recently too, nut packs,
boxes because I'm getting rid of them. Finally get rid
of some boxes in my house. Recycling those no problem,
but there's so much styrofoam in those boxes.
Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
I can't be recycled. Oh yeah, oh god, I hate it.
Speaker 5 (01:09:50):
So the embarrassing thing that I did was I tried
to find somewhere where I could recycle them. I ain't
throwing them in the garbage. So I called the City
of Atlanta. They tell me, oh, yeah, you can drop
it off here. I get an address. It's a fire department. Okay, sure,
I'll head on over to the fire department.
Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Head on over. Excuse me, mister fireman.
Speaker 5 (01:10:09):
Where can I drop off the styrofoam? No, no, we
don't do that. Oh God, come back here, Atlanta. I
got on at Lant again. They said, you can go
to this the city park thing. Oh yeah, there's charm
down charm Yeah. I should have gone. Well, I was
going everywhere. I was going on Fingersnap Road. There's a
(01:10:29):
road here, is that mail? Yeah it's a road, yeah, Fingersnap.
Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
Yeah. Places the cool place straight by Peachtree. Yeah, it
was a Tuesday.
Speaker 5 (01:10:40):
Charms closed Monday Tuesdays. So that's what got me. Uh
and the city park was a lie.
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
To straight up line somewhere. I don't know where they're going.
Speaker 5 (01:10:49):
Off the phone, I said, this has been this is
several hours of my time. Like I've been making calls
on the on the road, so you know, I'm finding
things to do. But I said, all right here was
a garbage dump. I'm just dropping them off at this
garbage jump at a church, which says, which says, hey,
only our garbage cameras are on, so.
Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
Trying to do the most like driving around, I'm driving around.
Speaker 5 (01:11:18):
I opened up the garbage dump, I threw them in,
I said a little prayer, I did my cross, and
I left.
Speaker 1 (01:11:23):
So there's no way they can arrest me for that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:25):
You did that for the camera.
Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
I kidding.
Speaker 5 (01:11:28):
I didn't do that, but I did it. I did
it for the No Dunks audio podcast and I left. Yeah,
the poor styrophone so stupid.
Speaker 1 (01:11:37):
So you like, were these like boxes or things you
kept because of they were equipment or something, you know
what I mean. Yeah, yeah, like speakers or yeah, computer.
Yeah yeah, but it was time nice. It's just tough
to get rid of. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
I just want to be able to put them in
my own recyclement. That would be awesome. Yeah, that'd be awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
It would be good. That would be good. Okay, what's
something you're involved with. It's a little embarrassing to admit.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Uh, Skeets and I play pick up every Thursday night,
and I'm the only guy that takes a shower in
the public shower afterwards. It started off like I would
just go in the shower stall, take off my clothes,
put on my night clothes. Yeah yeah, And I was like,
oh man, a little sweaty. It's the summer. Rins my
head underneath the fassen. I feels so good. Wait a second,
(01:12:26):
somebody left a bar of soap over there, and I'm
just washing my hog with a some random person.
Speaker 1 (01:12:32):
Bar soap, not even bringing his own.
Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
Now I look at it every week, I'm like, that
doesn't look like it moved to me.
Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
Yeah, you're the only one using it hasn't for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:12:42):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:12:42):
I think the same because the dead cockroach in there
also hasn't proved.
Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
That's my isshoe, A big reason why I'm not a
particular There's a lot of dead bugs down in that shower.
Yeah they're gross, but good on.
Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
I got home last night after having showered at the church,
and you know, I'm saying hi to Laura, she's watching
her shows that kind of stuff. I go downstairs, drop
things off into the laundry, come upstairs, just.
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Like, did you already take a shower?
Speaker 3 (01:13:06):
So I told her No, I took a shower at
the church. He's like, why do you do that?
Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
We have a shower at our eyes.
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
I was like, yeah, but I was already clean when
I got well, and we do go out for drinks
food after you It feels good to be clean, for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
There's people that don't shower. They go to my gym,
and I'm I have a bougie gym. It's like a like,
the main reason I'm coming here is to shower so
much pickleball that working out is fine, but I'm not
leaving here not clean. It's crazy to me, all right,
(01:13:41):
And it's also somebody else's water.
Speaker 1 (01:13:44):
Wow, you're just gonna be you have an hour shower? Yeah,
damn right, Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Next one, Steven A. Smith is starring in an utterly absurd,
fully AI generated ad for the World Solitaire Championship. I
don't even understand that sentence, but anyways, what's the dumbest
thing you could be? The world champion of skeets.
Speaker 1 (01:14:08):
Easy bagging grocery? No one do it like me, And
my whole goal when we go grocery shopping is to
just impress the cashier or the other baggers. That's all
my whole goal. Show up now I'm pure speed. Yeah,
pure speed, but you know good enough that things are
(01:14:30):
going together. But when I get like a compliment, it's
like damn, Like it's always to Nora, what's wrong with
your husband? Basically? But like he's good. Eh. So I
like people have they've like offered me jobs there on
the spot.
Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
This is good where I mean, we are on a
knife's edge here at the in the media business, right,
so it's good to have those skills.
Speaker 1 (01:14:55):
It is. And like my OCD kicks in and it's
like it's it's a good job for me. You can
talk to people. It's a really good job for me.
I'm going to do this when I'm older.
Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
I'm seriously, it's perfect for you fast chat people up there.
Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
It's like it's like a little puzzle in a weird way.
Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
So there's the Instagram reels of men who like doing
that with their dishwasher, like fitting that. Why aren't there
reels of people doing that with grocery? Are talking production,
you need some multiple cameras and people coming in with
you shop for groceries that are filming.
Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Yeah, bag, And I'd like to say right now because
I can hear it already in the comments. There are
times where it's their job, obviously, people to bag groceries.
I'm not stepping in, I'm not tapping them out.
Speaker 2 (01:15:37):
Go ahead, Yeah, but you're losing your mind when they're
doing it.
Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
Yeah, a little bit, Yeah, sometimes sometimes, But I'm talking
about places that you know, it's just the cash here,
and we generally when we go shopping and get a
lot of stuff too, So it's there's a lot and
we're bringing our own bags. Test mills worry about that.
And I know this, the integrity of each bag. What
should be going in this one? What should be going
in that one? All right, I'm one in the world championship.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Yeah, I wonder if that's a thing it might be.
Speaker 1 (01:16:03):
Sounds like it would, yeah, speed bagging, tassy.
Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
What's something that was the dumbest thing you would be
the world champion of?
Speaker 5 (01:16:15):
I would be the world champion at touching the most
beans which aren't actual beans over twenty four hours go on.
I like touching my my kids tobans the bottom a
little pad of a toe that's a tobean. We call
them tobans, my kids tobyans, my wife's tobeans, my cat's tobeans,
(01:16:36):
they're fun and they're a soft, little enjoyable and we
sing while we do them. Great song, Tobeans, Dobyans, Dobeans, Dobyans.
Thank you for the Instagram real creation of whoever did that?
They sang it. I just stole that song. But anyway,
song already, Well it's a no, it's like a you know, real,
(01:16:58):
it's for a video.
Speaker 1 (01:17:00):
Somebody's singing Tobeans though plow for some of you heard
of this term. It's apparently like trying to go on tiktoks.
He's got to be different stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
The whole thing is dishwashers and feet.
Speaker 1 (01:17:17):
Recycling dishwashers was to be.
Speaker 5 (01:17:20):
Yeah, well the dishwasher is more uh the if it's
a male female relationship, quite often the reels are the
man likes to get things in order and the females
just throw.
Speaker 1 (01:17:33):
That happens in my house for sure, So.
Speaker 5 (01:17:35):
That's yeah, that's more of a relationship thing to talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:17:39):
Do you. I would assume you do that too, because
it's like you're trying to be more efficient with the
dishwasher use right, so when you're gonna run it, let's
get it full, let's packed it. Yeah, Okay, that's what
I do.
Speaker 5 (01:17:50):
I want to pack my washing machine too, with clothes
up to the brims.
Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
That's stupid. Of course I wouldn't do that. It's not
going to wash clo.
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
I'm bad at loading the dishwasher. A yeah, I had
to do like remedial dishwash packing had of course, and everything.
The bull's got a point towards the endside, otherwise they
don't get cleaned.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
All right, here's a mystery. Here's a mystery. I can't
figure out.
Speaker 3 (01:18:18):
How do you get the top of your coffee cups
to not have water up?
Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
Yeah, if you can get them on an angle, for sure,
But that's a tough one. Yeah, I hate that.
Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
I hate Yeah, Okay, Trey was the dumbest thing that
you would be the world champion of.
Speaker 1 (01:18:34):
Checking to see if the garage door is closed.
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
I leave every day from my house, make sure to
keep my eyes peeled to see if it goes down.
And then by the time I get to the first
stop sign, I'm like, did I close the garage? Luckily
we got a Wi Fi enabled garage door opener. Why
do they have those for people like me to pull
(01:18:57):
up the app and say, oh yeah closed one minute?
I forgot.
Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
I didn't know that was the thing. You don't need it.
I don't have a garage. That's for me.
Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
It because every day I forget if I close garage,
I don't want to leave it open.
Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
Yeah, but you can butt dial your garage door open
right in theory.
Speaker 1 (01:19:14):
Oh no, your old showdown thinking about it?
Speaker 5 (01:19:20):
You mean if you get the alert on your phone
and you and you press it by action.
Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
Yeah, maybe that's that stuff makes me nervous.
Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
You think people are hacking it. People, it's happened.
Speaker 3 (01:19:33):
You can get like like an Amazon delivery and they'll
open your garage.
Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
Stuff on the inside.
Speaker 6 (01:19:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
I don't like that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
To turn that one off.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
Yeah, yeah, crazy. Okay, finally we we finally hung up
our new classic factory sign. You can see it there
behind Trey. It's lighter than the last one. It's brighter
than the last one. It's straight up glorious. What's a
cherished object from your past you'd love to bring back
into your life, but a little bit upgraded. I mean,
(01:20:05):
I guess I'll go elf elf dolls like the Elf
on the shelf. No, no, olf.
Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
O, my favorite television characters. You guys are already in
the Christmas spirit. You think I'm talking Elf with a knee,
I'm talking Elf with a baby. Yeah. I didn't know
how to answer this, But remember the elf dolls? Yeah sure,
I mean, let's bring them back to upgrade them. Let
(01:20:34):
Elf open your garage. You know I like it. I
will so anything. Throw some technology in an Elf doll
and we're laughing. I can do a lot now, Yeah,
of course. And I always loved, as I've said before
on the show, when you saw ELF's feet, So now
you can see them all the time. You like toe beans.
Where do you see elves? Yeah? Oh yeah, move On's
(01:21:03):
a cherished object from your past you love to bring
back into your life.
Speaker 5 (01:21:06):
But upgraded. Well, I mentioned that I was getting rid
of boxes and stuff. There's also a golf clubs. There's
a set of golf clubs that have been sitting there
that I haven't used in probably a decade. So it's
time to get rid of those and get some new ones.
Not that I really use them.
Speaker 4 (01:21:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:21:25):
Pings, Yeah, get a ping. Just go to the drive range.
I'm probably not going to the actual course. Let's hit
some balls.
Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
We played golf once, me, you and Lee.
Speaker 5 (01:21:36):
That's probably the last time I played, Wow, a mere
ten years ago. It's Candler Park, I think.
Speaker 1 (01:21:41):
Yeah, that's right. It might have even been longer than
ten years ago. Yeah you do.
Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
He was under part was good, it was amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
Yeah, it was Larry there. So he used to golf there.
So he's a big golf head. Yeah, big golf as
a public course, right, An it's a niner. Yeah, it's nice.
Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
It is a bit of a waste living in Atlanta
and not golfing because you can golf all year round. Like, yeah,
golfing friends back home or like they get like three months.
Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
I lived, I lived twenty feet from a golf course.
Like at the end of my dead end street is
whole number four of a pretty decent course. I haven't
golfed at once. I'm just not a big golfer. Okay,
maybe one of these days.
Speaker 5 (01:22:25):
People do it here in the South, dude, like fly
down here to the South to go.
Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
Yeah golf true? Uh Trey, Uh bring us home. What's
a cherished object from your past you'd love to bring
back into your life?
Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
But upgraded?
Speaker 3 (01:22:36):
Favorite phone I ever had was the Sidekick with the
screen that like flipped open, had the little keyboard underneath.
Phones are a lot better now. I feel like they
could re release a Sidekick with like updated technology. Yeah,
no touch screen, I suppose, But like that was a
cool phone and it was fun to use. It felt
like a like a Batman.
Speaker 1 (01:22:54):
Device, like how it opened it.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Yeah, very cool.
Speaker 1 (01:22:57):
Had leaned like a cholo as my ringtone.
Speaker 3 (01:22:59):
Backside to side.
Speaker 1 (01:23:07):
Maybe bring those back. Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Have a ring tone now, I'm a silent guy. I'm
sure they still exist.
Speaker 1 (01:23:13):
But that's a good point. Like, I mean, I don't
change my ring tone. So like you're out around a
lot of people, a phone goes off, it's like you
don't even know if it's you. Yeah, because everybody's got
the same one. Yeah, bring back ring tones. Stepping on
the beach, I would go O G personally, no offense
to jab.
Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
No, no, no, that would be quite jarring.
Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
All right, that's rapid fire, not so rapid at all.
That was the D block. Now we're into the E
block because we're doing something for the first time. Here
we are thanking our founding members on substack. Some of
you crazy people out there, you want to support the
show after twenty years, and you laid some money down,
some hard earned money, to help us out on substack,
and we want to give a shout out. So what
(01:24:02):
we're gonna do is we're gonna shout out ten people
every Friday here moving forward, and we start with the
first ten. It's like an award show here, our first

order because your name's about to show up. Jeff B.

supporting and last one here of this bunch are first
ten founding members. It's Oscar Fang, so sincere thanks and
we have to all of these. We have merged out
to a lot of you. If your name was on

means you probably had an email go to your spam
(01:25:27):
or your junk box, so check that out. Because we
emailed all of our founding members to get them hooked up.
Norah helping us out big time getting those out from
breaking tea. So a lot of you responded, some of
you haven't, so maybe check your inbox or sorry, your
junk box may have gone there. Verse ten down another
at least another six or seven weeks to go with this,
that's how many people. Yeah, excellent, keep them coming exactly.
(01:25:50):
We also love our monthly subscribers or the people that
did like obviously the your subscription. Love it, love it,
love it, thank you, thank you, thank you. Link for
the substack is in the show notes what we like.
Volume four coming over very soon with our things we

past week, and we also recap every wedgie now with
the Wedgie Scale, so we've got some things coming eventually.
(01:26:11):
I'm opening cards Live from the Shed TK after a
huge bulls wins, so there's a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:26:18):
Yeah, it's not always just going to be bulls wins,
but there's been so many of them.
Speaker 1 (01:26:21):
Yeah, man, it's fun.
Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
We got a classic rewatches. Oh I forgot about that
last month. Pick one for this month.
Speaker 1 (01:26:28):
Oh yeah yeah yeah. And like we've done before, we
beached up in sort of get you to the front
of the line with your questions. It's a way to
give back. So thank you, thank you, thank you. All right,
call it there. This guy's got two movies to go watch.
Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
On Jealous to be quite honestly jealous on your first.
Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
Screening two PM.
Speaker 1 (01:26:47):
Okay, yeah, you're not kidding the Day movies. Thanks for

but Jamal Mosley's name was spelled wrong. That's on me,
