Kirby Heyo Heyo, and Overyonder making the magic happen. Super
producer jd Here he is here. We are Hello to
everybody on YouTube. Hit the like button, subscribe, podcast listers,
five star ratings and reviews. Action Pack Drop Today our
final live show of the week. We're going to devour
some Thanksgiving inspired NBA questions. Tass has a few feuds
(00:47):
to take us through and worst of the week, and
we got whoa Boy, We got Rapid Fire and so
much more. But we did have some games last night.
We can touch on these very briefly. Three games. The
big takeaway was everybody was a temper boy lot up,
pushing it and shove in a few ejections. Anyway, Luca
and Lebron led the Lakers past the Clippers. They clinch
(01:08):
their NBA Cup group, they're on to the knockout round yep.
Anthony Black scored a career high thirty one, helping the
Magic crush the Sixers one forty four to one oh three.
And then CJ McCollum guy goes for forty six points.
He had ten threes. The Wizard snap of fourteen game
skid with the big win over the Atlanta Hawks. Any
(01:29):
thoughts on those three games?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Last night when we got into the season, I Trey
brought up who's the best Washington Wizard? He said, Alex
sar and I thought, well, what about CJ McComb. How
dare you disrespect CJ McCom He's got these forty point
jobs occasionally. The other thing that clearly not a great
night of NBA basketball, But Luka Doncic is now said
(01:52):
that there are three courts when it comes to NBA
Cup courts that have been slippery since he started playing
in twenty three. He said it when he went into
New Orleans, he said that NBA Cup court was slippery.
A couple of weeks ago, again it was in New Orleans,
another one was slippery, and then yesterday this one in
LA home court he said things are getting slippery. He
said it's dangerous. So I slip multiple times, other players
(02:15):
were slipping, and then he referenced it to a court
that he played in in Spain when he was a
young professional player, that it was slippery there. It's like
he knows what's going on with this feet. He's basically
saying there's slippery. So I noted that in twenty twenty three,
he said it. Jalen Brown actually said it as well.
But last year they were cool, all cool.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
What do you got to say for yourself? Victor Solomon?
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Exactly, exactly interesting. Yeah, that's all.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
You know.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
The type of takeaways from last night.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Time not much for sure, But will there be a
meeting with Victor Solomon? If Luka Doncic a superstar is
now again. That's twice in two weeks here, two different courts.
So he's the only one complaining about it though. The
type of paint they're using, is it.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
High gloss?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Maybe go Matt. You got any thoughts from last night?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
I mean I got some thoughts. Yeah, you know, we
played a pickup ball. We're walking into the gym. Everybody's
talking about should the Hawks trade Tray Young? Should they
keep them around. I mean, they're gonna take care of
the Wizards in the NBA Cup tonight. And then at
the time you looked at your phone halfway through is
a thirty point game? Yeah, play thirty point game in
the first quarter of this on cj mcred light. Second
forty plus game of the season, and like every one
(03:26):
of his baskets was on a bigger defender. That was
awesome to watch. He was just letting it fly ten
to thirteen from three. Wizards were getting busy in the
fast break. They were forcing a bunch of turnovers and
going the other way. That was pretty weird to see.
Just a very very strange result in that one. I
thought for the Wizards to take it, but they were
due to have a big time game and the Hawks
(03:47):
were a little lackadaisical, I thought on the defensive end.
Anthony Black, that was pretty interesting. Six straight double digit
games for him, Like you said, a career high thirty one.
I think he got to his career high in the
first half. Yeah, he did, And he had two miss
dunks in the first half. He could have had a
whole bunch more points as well, but they were daring
him to shoot threes.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Okay, fine, I'll take them. Yeah, the corner three, they
were like backing up off of them, all right, Yeah,
So kudos to him playing with confidence.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
The Magic are running and gunning right now, and that's
why they've looked pretty decent. With Polo Bancaro out, It'll
be interesting to see if Polo can play with the
same sort of pace that the Magic have been playing
in his absence. A bit of a scuffle there between
Wendell Carter Junior and Andre Drummond. I think it's one
hundred percent Drumm's fault. He was just grabbing at Wendell
(04:35):
Carter Junior's back, just trying to yank on his jersey,
and then as soon as Carter like gets mad, hits
his hand off the second time.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Instantly Drummond throws.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Up the hilarious reaction, very funny look his eyes basically
at him and then sugs.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Of course he was in the mix.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
I mean, how many who all got technicals souso guys,
Walker got one. I think Bain got one because he
came in and pushed as well. It was pretty weird
that the two guys that started, Wendell Carter Junior and
on Ver Drummond were still out there.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
No, you're cool, Yeah, you can say you're fine.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
And then Chris Dunn obviously got ejected in the Lakers
Clippers gas for getting into with Luca and then Jackson
Hayes coming in his offense. That was a double technical
situation for the dune toss, who has been known to
get into it, yes, from time to time with players.
You can go see the compilation. There's at least three
or four times where Dun's gotten into it with guys.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Just one question about Jalen Sucks who got ejected, but
it's not about the ejection. He had his headband on
from the beginning of the game yesterday. I don't know
if that's his first game, because you guys pointed out
that he was wearing it around his neck to start
games right literally several possessions until he got comfortable or
whatever's going on, and then he puts it on his
head like a normal headband.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
I don't know what happened unless he got told he
could have got Remember that was my working theory.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Nothing on the neck, that the silver was going to
come down and say you can't wear that run your neck.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Do you have any brothers have been choked out by
their brothers with a headband.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
You don't want to be a turkey with something loose
of your neck. You ainy gobbler.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Uh, you ain a gobbler. When they're the Magic go
to three and oh in East B their group, so
they're looking pretty though. The Pistons are two and oh
as well, and they have a game tonight. So we
got a nice little battle there in the East Group B.
Let's show you actually the standing cocked them all on
one page. Because there's a lot more games on tonight,
I wanted to highlight a few. We got the Bucks
(06:25):
at the heat tonight seven thirty, big game in East
Group C because you see the Bucks two and oh
now they're gonna be with Jannis here heat two and one,
huge point differential right now, that's a key game. West
go over to that side. Timberwolves taking on the Thunder
on ESPN. That's a juicy game. Then the Suns are
in Sacramento, so OKAC and Phoenix can set up a
(06:46):
winner take all group finale on Friday with wins, but
Minnesota very much alive. If if if, if they can
rebound and knock off OKAC, tonight, so that's a big game.
And then finally West Group CEE the Group of Death.
The big game tonight is Spurs Blazers. Blazers can win
the group with a win over the Spurs tonight, who
(07:09):
obviously are without Victor Webinama. If the Spurs win San
Antonio versus Denver on Friday, will determine that group winner.
So those are a few I wanted to highlight. There
lots to figure out still, but it's going to come
down to the wildcard in some of these groups when
it comes to point differential.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah, the Group of Death, everyone is still alive literally
technically yes, yeah, anything. It's also everybody is still technically
live in East Group C, even though the Hornets are
all in two. Yeah, just because a point differential and
they can win the were I guess.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Yeah, it's very very very unlikely. Yeah, we're starting to
see who the teams are going to go through, and
we already have two of the eight teams. Yeah. I
do like how they make it look though. It looks cool,
it looks nice. Good job by the NBA Cup, but
believe they believe they can win the Cup.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Sure, second might be the first two time Cup champions
in history. I think they also believe they can win
the NBA championship. Lebron is engaged, man, He's having fun
out there, and it's been cool to see. They haven't
played great defenses yet. They played the Jazz twice with
Lebron and then the Clippers last night. But it is
interesting to be like, what if.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Andrea Guadala from the Warriors was actually the.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
NBA's all time leading scorer whose best skill is passing,
because that's what Lebron looks like. He's fitting in perfectly
as the third guy, but in reality kind of the
number two guy to both Luca and Austin Reeves. They've
also turned both Jackson Hayes and DeAndre Ayton into awesome players.
They're shooting a combined seventy percent from the field eight
and his fifth in dunks in the league. Hayes is
(08:36):
tied for seventh and dunks in the league. They have
fifty combined dunks in seventeen games. You got Jackson Hayes
throwing alley oops, doing goggles. This team is completely connected
to each other, and you can always tell with Lebron
if he has belief in his team. He's the happiest
guy on the court, and if he doesn't, he is
figuring out ways to get somebody traded. So it'll be
interesting to see when they finally play good teams.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
How do they hold up defense, but they're a problem
on the offensive end.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Yeah, does Lebron feel comfortable being just a passer? Essentially?
He can be an incredible passer off the ball as
a number three option in fourth quarters or whatever if
those guys are clicking. Also, yeah, just connection throughout the roster.
Jackson Hayes came and defended Luka Doncic yesterday and Jen
shoved his Slovenian brother Luka Doncich has Jackson Hayes is
(09:23):
literally playing for Slovenia next summer as a you know,
one of those an important type of players. So they're bros,
bros up and down the roster.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
All right, Well, let's get into some fun here because
this is the drop in our final live show. Like
I said, we're doing a little NBA Thanksgiving. I've got
some Thanksgiving inspired questions for you guys as we take
stock of the league here after What are we in
five or six weeks into the nb season at this point.
First one, I want to know tk you can get
it started. Which player has been the biggest turkey? Who
(09:55):
would you give that honor to or dishonor to?
Speaker 3 (09:57):
This is the easiest question we're going to answer today. Okay,
it's Ja Morant. He's a big old tom turkey out there.
Lowest affected field goal percentage in the league.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
I found a beautiful page on Basketball Reference yesterday. They've
got the leaders top of the league and everything. Yeah,
they got the trailers bottom of the league and everything,
like the worst qualifying players.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Oh, it is a hater's paradise out there, and you're
saying job Rant's name a lot.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
He's bottom ten and BPM and win shares for forty eight,
like very important impact stats, kind of catch all things
that you can look at. But even if you're just
looking at box score stats, eighteen per game, seven point
six assists, that sounds fine, But this is Joa Rant.
We're talking about a twenty five and nine kind of
player at his best. But he's shooting thirty six from
the field, sixteen point seven percent from the three point line.
(10:49):
If it was just bad play on the court, that
would be fine. But like Gigi Beno said here in
the stream team. Jaw's got more no dunk's thumbnails than
games played this year. He's only played in twelve games,
so he's not on the court. He's had some locker
room drama, calling out the coach when he was benched
down the stretch or not playing long enough stints. He's
(11:09):
had the Klay Thompson drama from earlier this week that
we'll get into a little bit later. His net rating
when he's on the court is minus nine point one.
The Grizzlies haven't been good outside of Jow, but he they've.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Been better with him off the court.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Just a minus six point two net rating for them,
so they're killing it when Jaw says, it's just not
worth it for all of the drama Jah has been
bringing to the table. So I think he was a
pretty easy choice for the biggest turkey.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
A great turkey, Yeah, great turkey.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
I'm totally curious how the conversations go between other teams
front offices and the Grizzlies front office. How much are
teams offering for this turkey, for this gentleman who.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Has usually expensive aren't they?
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (11:51):
I think they.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Dropped a little bit here in the United States this
year year to year surprisingly but anyway, Yeah, he's he's
got to be one of those.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah. I said this a while ago when we were
talking about Ja Morant inevitably feels like being traded, and
I have hope that wherever he goes, he's going to
turn back into Ja Moran of hold right, he's upset
with the situation there, the co chain, maybe the organization whatever,
and that he'll turn it around. I don't know. Starting
to lose a little confidence in that prediction. And this
(12:21):
tweet from Dragonfly Jones from the Great Jenkins and Jones podcast,
talking about on the heels of the Klay Thompson Jahn
Morant feud, he wrote, quote, I'm just completely out on
Jahn Morant, and I don't think a change of scenery
via a trade is going to fix him. He's just
not built to be the type of player you hit
your franchise too. I went from thinking he was possible
(12:43):
future MVP and now this dude is on an Oj
Mayo trajectory. Ooh. From Dragonfly Jones one was like, oh damn,
I hope you're wrong, But I think a lot of
people are agreeing more and more with what we've seen,
even when he's out there test and how he's how
poorly he's played. I mean, is the numbers just keep
dropping in terms of his shot attempts at the rim
(13:05):
and all that. And he's not a good shooter, so
he's taking more shots further away and he never was
really a good shooter.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Yeah, it's it's easy to buy into that d Oj
Mayo comparison.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Oh that's tough though.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Then you can start to think about when you made
your point. I think a lot of it was about
the environment he's in. Of course, right if he goes
to the Miami Heat and he is somehow he's not
the guy you hit your team too, But you know you,
as John Ran, you kind of hit yourself to that
franchise a little bit more so so.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
John Moran would not be the first player in NBA
history to pout his way out of a situation. And
then suddenly it looked like an incredible All Star All
NBA talent again, like, if that happens, then I still
have some hope.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
And then when when he did get in Clay's face,
the pointing in Clay's face not so cool, but defending
his teammate has started to buy into he went and
spoke for Cam Spencer and said, man, you're the best
shooter on the floor. Not as good as that bum
from stopped there. He could have, yeah, he did. He
didn't need to point out with Clay.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah, and when he played in Golden State, not Dallas.
I don't know why you said the bump from Golden State,
but anyway, there we are, all right.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
He's the biggest turkey. Are there any other minor turkeys?
Cornish or something?
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Let me give you a turkey, Viza Zubos of the
Los Angeles Clippers. I know I can sense you guys
not so exciting. I get it. I get it because
that's what a turkey is. It can be just kind
of man and Vitas good solid player, but he's only
as good as his team is around him. A turkey
(14:36):
is only as good as the accompanyings. Yeah, it's about
everything else.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Like the turkey is fine.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
It's fine.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
You don't think turkey is the star of Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Incredibly, Vitza Zubats went from a defense. I mean, listen,
we're going to get into turkeys in a second. Let
me just finish on because because turkey is fine, Turkey
is fine. It only comes literally, Okay, I can't help
but talk about turkey. It can only come one. It
only comes once a year, one day a year, frankly.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Sometimes Christmas, Christmas there it comes back, has a nice
run the rest of the year as a sandwich meat.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
You know, don't sleep on turkey as a sad I
almost think that two different things, though, deli turkey and
then the turkey at a holiday. Yeah, I know it's
the same.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah, you know, right, right right, Okay, sorry, back to Zubos. Yeah, listen,
if you chop them up and you put them in
the right type of recipe, the right type of supporting cast,
then it's a good turkey. But it's only as good
as the accompanying players around him. This team went from
third in defense last year to twenty fifth this year.
Is that Zubats's fault? I don't think so. I mean,
(15:44):
his numbers are super efficient, just like they were last year.
He's super good, but the teams around him just ain't
all that good.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
So they have the same team besides amazingly taking Norman
Pale out and putting John Collins in. You wouldn't think
that would have an effect on your defense?
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah? Really, Yeah, yeah, Well, they didn't start the season
with Chris Dunn on the floor. I think that was
a part of him. They made that mistake. They started
with Bradley Beal out there and and so you got
to throw out some of these side dishes. I mean,
Bradley Beal, see you you're not playing this year. We're
not eating yet, You're gone. Unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Here Junior naw too, who's a solid defense.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
It's just weird because you boughts. Any team would love
to have him as their starting sack. The guy is
freaking good. Uh and he's a good defender, but he's
kind of dependent on those around him. So I don't
know what's happened with Los Angeles or with tylu If
that's if you can wave it on him. I don't know.
I really it's it's the chemistry on that team. And
you know Turkey. Yeah, unless everything's good around him, Turkey's
(16:43):
just fine.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Do you have any other minor Turkeys?
Speaker 3 (16:46):
I can't believe we already touched on my other minor Turkey.
It's Victor Solomon.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
He's been completely exposed this year.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Interesting City edition courts are way better than NBA Cup courts.
I know they want to have like a unified look
for the cup courts. But every single city edition court
looks better than every single Cup court.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
And now I'm finding out that they're slippery. And Victor
had nothing to do with the city edition cup courts
or the city edition courts.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
You can tell because they look good. Yeah, you don't
like the cup courts? Come on, no, I mean, do
you think I have ripped Victor Solomon more than anyways?
Speaker 1 (17:22):
He's got nothing in the media.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
He's the Bradley Beal of court designers. Damn throw them out,
not eating them.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
This year, another obvious Turkey would have been Nico Harrison.
It is gone now that turkey has been chucked out,
being let go by the Dallas Mavericks. But all right,
we got the list, let's keep it going. A lot
of other questions here a little more positive. Which player
is the green beans? What does that mean to us?
(17:49):
It means underrated? Because we were trying to determine what's
the most underrated Thanksgiving dish a lot of opinions on this.
We ultimately as a group decided green beans. I do
think that's so they're underrated, But the when they're done
well and they're pretty simple. They're nice accompaniment on your plate,
your turkeys and your other things. Anyway, underrated player task
(18:10):
get us started the Sixers.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Quinton Grimes is underrated. This guy's hit a game winner.
This guy comes off the bench, plays the fourth most
minutes on the Philadelphia seventy six ers. It's important on
that old team. He's had the most efficient season since
his knick days. Right now, the guy is bawling and
he gets overlooked. There's no doubt he is a green Bean.
The MAVs traded away Luka Doncic two days after they
(18:35):
traded away Quinton Grimes, so no one talks about Quinton Grimes.
But they traded Quentin Grimes for Caleb Martin. Obviously Dallas
would love to have this guy. He's gonna go get
paid a ton this coming offseason. And considering that Paul George,
I know, we always know that Paul George may or
may not play, but now he's got an ankle injury.
He's sitting out with an ankle injury last night when
(18:56):
they got destroyed. So he's important. Quent Grin was very
important and underrated. He's the green Beans who.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Got I got Jalen Brown. I did want to go
for a guy on a green team, and he's on
the greenest of teams. But I think, like you said yesterday, Skis,
we barely talk about this guy.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
He's averaging twenty eight a game.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah, career high for sure, a career high and true
shooting percentage. He's taken more free throws, he's taken less threes.
This is his best playmaking season for sure, functioning as
the number one offensive option for a Celtics team that's
actually top five in offense. Like they play super slow,
I think the thirtieth in pace right now, which is
kind of a curve ball. I thought they would just
be a running gun team, but they're playing through Jalen Brown.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
He's playing pretty well.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
I think if Derek White were to be shooting better,
Brown's numbers would be even better. So Jalen Brown was
in a weird spot because he's got the gigantic contract.
We know Jason Tatum is the main guy coming into
this year. With Tatum out, it was like, what are
the Celtics really going to be? They're just right in
the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference. But
he's played really, really well, and I don't know I
(20:02):
think he's probably a fringe All Star candidate right now.
He's got the track record that maybe that kind of
gets him over the top. But for a guy that's
almost at thirty, a game never comes.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Up in this show.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Yeah, no, no, he has overlooked for sure. And it's
so interesting in the East with teams over performing like
the Bulls, the Heat, the Raptors, the Hawks. To call
them what you want. The Celtics are there number ten
and Milwaukee right now is in eleventh, so there's going
to be a disappointed team. I know it's a lot
of those don't have extremely high expectations, the ones that
(20:35):
I just mentioned, but they're starting to play really well.
So the Celtics just over five hundred. The numbers say
that they could be far better. Their point differential is
way better than a tenth place team at plus four
point six.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
I've got three green beans for you, sort of three
different levels, a budding superstar, a really key role player,
and then a guy coming off the bench in a
smaller role triple bean. Yeah, I'll start with the budding
superstar because I want a trivia question you guys here.
I want to see if you got the answer two
players in the NBA are currently averaging at least twenty points,
(21:08):
nine boards, seven board excuse me, twenty points, nine boards,
seven assists, and one point five steals per game. One
is probably the greatest player in the world in Nikola Jokicic.
Can you name the other one?
Speaker 3 (21:22):
The steals makes me a little curious because I was
thinking maybe Giddy.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Giddy would be there without steels. Yeah, and there would
be another guy without steels too, But this guy makes
it the answer. Jalen Johnson, j john Dylan Johnson, Man
guy is unreal. We talked a little bit about him
yesterday where it's like, oh, okay, he's in the All
Star conversation. Is this guy going to turn into an
All NBA player? He's only twenty three. He is a
(21:47):
terror in the open floor as a finisher and a facilitator.
So he's leveled up here. And keep your eyes on
the Hawks when Trey Young does come back, Like, what's
going to happen here? Because is it just going to
go back into the control of Trey Young in terms
of the running the point? Will the defense fall back
and fall off again with Trey Young out there, which
(22:07):
it's been pretty good without him, you know, throw it
last night's game that was bad, And what will the
Hawks do? Will they trade Trey Young? And does anybody
want them? And what type of package? Because it looks
like Jayalen Johnson is the one You're like, oh yeah,
maybe that's the guy that we're comfortable moving forward with
as sort of our our our alpha dog, so to speak.
So I got Jillen Johnson, though he's getting a lot
more buzz. So that's why he's the guy on the
(22:28):
superstar level or getting there. Josh Hart, I bring him
up because we know he's good. He's awesome. He's always underrated.
Changes games with his rebounding, changes games with his hustle, plays,
smart plays at that He started all seventy seven games
last season and put up some of the best numbers
of his career. In comes Mike Brown in place of TIBs,
(22:49):
and he's asked to come off the bench, and he
has of almost in all of the games. But he
remains one of the knicks, like just emotional leaders and
selfless players and he does everything and he's I just
think he's one of those guys in this league, like
like you're you're taking him on your team. Especially if
you're lining up like some sort of pickup run, because
he just does all the little important things to help
(23:12):
you win games. So Josh Hart just want to show
him some love.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
He was my sixth Man of the Year pick. Probably
not in the conversation at this point, but he still
is key to the Knicks, and I just don't really
know what to make of them as a team right now.
When Og went down, their defense really fell off the cliff.
They're not a very good defensive team to begin with.
He's a key player for them as well. But yeah,
heart is a stat sheet stuffer.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Yeah he could be stuffing good.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Can you put green beans inside the turkey? Who knows?
The final one for me is and we can just
move on because I've talked about him a lot here
over the last couple of weeks, to the point where
people are getting upset with us tasks too much Raptors talk. Yeah,
I've proclaimed my love for Raptors backup point guard Jamal Shed.
I'm a shed Head. I believe you're a shed Head.
More and more shed Heads bar today. Guy's good and
(24:01):
it's nice to see him getting some more intention here.
Coming to Mamu and Shed and the raptor's bench and
how much of an impact they're having on winning.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Like similar to Josh Hart, he is an emotional leader, yes,
no doubt.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Which is really crazy for him because he's like young
and to come right in and sort of take control,
so to speak, of the locker room or be a
leader on the floor, that's pretty impressive. It's one thing
to be a vet thirty year old like Josh Hart,
but to do it at Chad's age is amazing. All right,
Next question, which player is Cranberry sauce? We did this
last year. This is how we're defining a TK reliable,
(24:34):
surprisingly still around squarely meeting expectations. That's Cranberry sauce to
us in the NBA. Yeah you got Drew Holliday. Ooh
good one A.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
He's an artisanal Cranberry sauce. I think the Blazers brought
him in for some veteranship. He had a down season
for the Celtics last year. Couldn't really figure out where
he fit in it, it seemed like, which was weird because
you know, he'd been there for a little bit. Brutal
in the playoffs. I remember just being very frantic during
their playoff series loss, and he's an up and down
(25:07):
playoff performer to begin with, but he's kind of back
to Milwaukee Drew for the Trailblazers this year, seventeen points,
eight assists per game. He is bringing the defensive intensity
on one side. Him and Obdi are kind of like
take turns being the creator for this team. Not a
great offensive team, but may be even worse. I believe
if Drew Holliday wasn't there. So definitely a bounce back
(25:28):
season for him and kind of exactly what the Trailblazers
were hoping to get in a vet point guard. Been
very key for them with Scoot Henderson going down, to
have somebody who can handle the ball outside of Abdya.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Love that pick. I had him on my short list.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Nice, very reliable. It was surprising to see him in
the playoffs a little bit last year. It seemed like
him has he come in to his end. But he's
back to himself. He's back.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Who do you have?
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Well, an old Cranberry. We've done this a few times
and I'm surprised looking back at my notes, this is
the third time and Barnes gets included. I know he
cannot now now included three of the last four years
playing Harrison. Sorry, how old do you think Harrison Barnes.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Well, he's not as old as you think. He's like
thirty three.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Yeah, still, he's still thirty two, thirty two. You know,
he came in at twenty twelve, so he came in
forever man or maybe maybe Yeah, I'm so bad with
ages at times. No, he is. He's still thirties, thirty three,
my bad, it doesn't matter, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Thirty six or thirty seven.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Yeah, don't get the old face, because he came in
at twenty twelve and he just he ascended it in
terms of how much he was talked about because he
was with the Golden State Warriors and their run. So
he's still there. He's having a super efficient season, he's
still performing. He still can be relied on to get
you a bucket at times. Obviously it's not all the time,
but you need a bucket. This guy will be there
(26:56):
for you, shooting forty five percent from three and ocasionally,
you know, put it on the floor and make a
shot in the mid range. So, Harry, it could be
the Wemby effect, just being around Harrison Barnes, just being
around Victor Webbnyama. But either way, he had some big
games with that though. That's true, that's true. He stepped
up when it.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Was He beat a team with a hook shot that
was crazy, like a running, swooping hook.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
This is the third straight year you've had no.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Three and four. I don't know what happened in twenty
twenty three. Wow did we go Cranberry free? Three switched?
I love those.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Picks, Drew Holiday, Harrison Barnes. I'll give the Cranberry sauce
label to James Harden, who is still like doing his
best to carry the Clippers. It's not resulting in a
lot of wins, but it's not James Harden's fault. Guys,
thirty six years old. He ranks ninth in minutes per game,
top ten at this point after all the mileage on
his legs. His usage percentage is the highest it's been
(27:55):
since his last year with Houston, and he's had a
lot of good games and the game again, they've lost
a lot of games. His four really bad performances this year,
they all resulted in Clippers' losses. Opening night versus a
Jazz he was bad. He had a four for fifteen
performance versus the Suns after he missed the game prior
they lost seven to twenty five shooting in a two
(28:15):
point loss to the Sixers, and then over the weekend
versus Cleveland, he couldn't hit a three to save his life.
Oh for eight from deep. They lost that one. I
crap on the Clippers all the time, but it ain't
because of James Harden. It really is not. You know,
where's Kawhi right now? Come on, I know he's back here,
but he has not looked all that amazing. QUI looks
checked out on the defensive end too. The guy was
(28:36):
all defense like a lock. Yes, he's sort of slowed down.
He slowed anyway.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Harding Cranberry sauce to me, he quite now thinking of
going back to Viata Zubats and what the heck has
happened to that defense. Kawhi last year talked about Chris
Duntins being the guy, and maybe that's a part of it.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
I mean, Kristin now inserted into the starting line of
trying to get something. You know. The the Clippers are
like the masle, Let's find something, let's do something. So
they're trying. We'll see if Chris dun can save the day.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
I think James Harden is gonna have a Vince Carter
like career appraisal, where during his prime, James Harden was reviled.
People hated this guy, the way he played with the Rockets,
the way he would file bait and you know, just
throw his arms into a guy and try and maybe finish,
but really just trying to get to the free throw line,
step back after step back. It's similar to when Vince
(29:28):
you know, John morantid his way out of Toronto. They said,
you're not giving us quite enough. But as his career progressed,
he became a great role player. It's different with Harden,
but like he got Joel Embiid an MVP by setting
them up for jumper after jumper in the mid range.
He was key to the Nets team that had a
chance to perhaps win at least an Eastern Conference until
(29:50):
he went down with a hamstring injury.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
They ended up losing to the Bucks.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
He got the Clippers to the playoffs last year as
a table setter. Kawhi Leonard has been inconsistent year and
Harden is the guy carrying the team and the NBA
absolutely needs James Harden to dominate this year. So that okay,
so he doesn't get yet another lottery pack.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Yes, it's true.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
We need hard for thirty a game every single night
to have a chance. Otherwise the dynasty is officially on.
Might already be. But uh, I think people are kind
of taking to Harden more so now than when he
was one of the three best players in the league.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
They're like, man, this guy just loves playing basketball.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
Yeah, he's come around in that effect, and he is
super reliable and that he plays all the freaking time. Yeah,
still as an old man. He played seventy nine games
last year. The difference between Vince and Harden is Vince
was okay being like the seventh option, you know on
a team. We'll see what Harden if he can tick down? Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(30:47):
yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
So yeah, will Harden actually ever adopt that? Yeah? Super
sub or like yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
Am the system. Can he turned? Can he turned into something?
You know it's more supporting. We'll see.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
You think he gets win another six Man of the Year. Yeah,
he's ready early. That'd be cool, that would be amazing. Yeah, yes,
I think he could. I mean if he got the situation.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Yeah, come off the bench for the first time in forever.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
All right, a couple more questions here. Task will start
with you. Which player is Brussels Sprouts polarizing? This player
occasionally stinky but also kind of good, which I mean.
I love Brussels Sprouts done right, especially at Thanksgiving. So yeah,
polarizing player, sort of good, sort of bad. Where are
you going?
Speaker 2 (31:32):
I'm going Kyle Cousen with the Milwaukee Bucks. I think
his shot selection has changed in that he doesn't have
to do the hey, I'm the guy, I'm shooting from
the mid range because you look at it. He's way
more comfortable waiting till the balls come to him and
he's driving to the hoop. That iso midrange is gone.
He's having the most efficient season of his career. Number
(31:54):
of mid range shots down, shots at the rim up,
number of threes are down because, as you describe Brussel Sprouts,
his three point shooting is stinky. But that's okay. He's
shooting fifty eight percent on twuesa, so overall he's way
more efficient. I think he looks like a different Kak Kuzma.
He looks more like the Los Angeles Kuzma, where he
was just a defensive guy. Here you can go get
(32:17):
the best player on the other end and you can
just be an accompanying offensive player. Slash cut, do your thing.
Kuzma is that guy again, and so it's a weird
thing going out with Milwaukee Bucks now that they're eight
and ten. Yannis is questionable today. He's going to come back,
but I think the guys are playing well around him,
(32:37):
but they desperately need, yes, yeah, to be that type
of guy. But Kuzma is being smarter about it.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Well, it's funny you went with Kuzma. I took another
Bucks player. I took Miles Turner. I find him very
polarizing at this point of his career. Every time I
watch Miles Turner, I think he looks so washed out there.
But then I look at the stats and some of
his game logs and it's like, it's not brutal. He's
shooting forty one percent from deep, decent amount of attempts
(33:02):
to But I think he's just lost a step. He
never was a great rebounder for his size, you know,
the blocks have gone down to Like, I sometimes think
he's still good. I think he has an impact on
winning games, and then sometimes I just think he looks
I don't know, ancient to me the way he moves.
And again he was never light footed or anything like that,
but he's like just this lumbering like takes him a
(33:22):
while yet going. So I'm a Miles Turners.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Yeah. I thought about it too, because Turner is just
shooting threes. He's shooting the most threes of his career,
shooting fewer twos because that's what they need from him.
They need us mean to be a slasher, don't shoot threes, man,
they need Turner to shoot threes. But he doesn't have
a post game or inside game anymore. It's gone. So
I yeah, sometimes it's gross, it's a Brussels brow, but
(33:45):
sometimes it's it works out.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
What about you, TK Zach Lavine. Dude's efficient from the field.
He's a plus finisher. He's a plus three point shooter,
never turns the ball over because he never passes, and
his team's just always lose when he plays. The Kings
are minus twenty points per one hundred possessions when he's
on the court. In the two hundred and sixty four
minutes he'd been off the court, there plus five point
nine points per one hundred possessions.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Sticking with the Bucks. I see they're interested in Zach Lavine.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Oh boy, oh good.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
I'm here to tell you he could help and it
is another scorer. But I'm just telling if you put
him on the Bucks, they're not gonna win with Zack Lavine.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
I don't get it.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
Like he's a good offensive player. That's all he does.
All he can do is score. He's not really going
to sack anybody up. No, I think he just takes
away on the defensive end because he doesn't rebound. I
don't think he's like a bad defender, but like he
just does nothing of them.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Yeah, I had to check did he make the playoffs
at all? And I guess he did with the Bulls
that one time when he swept. No, yeah, sweat they did. Sorry,
I'm sorry, how dare you? He's played four playoff games,
that's it.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
They won one, but he wasn't a well they got
b four to one, right, but he played four games? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Yeah, yeah, Jesus crazy. He's had a long career.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Man.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
That guy came when he was in nineteen. He's thirty.
Now he's got another eight years easily. Hopefully it gets
more playoff chances. I don't think it's going to happen
in Sacramento. No, I don't think so either. All right,
zachly Bean's a good pick.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
All right?
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Final one here, TK start us off. Besides your own team,
So Bulls in your case, Raptors in ours, which team
are you most thankful for this holiday season?
Speaker 3 (35:16):
Houston Rockets for me, okay, as a long time rebound appreciator,
it's nice to see somebody else who's completely invested in
just hitting the glass. How the Rockets are winning and
how they're having a good offense. They're like, yeah, maybe
we can make the shot, but if we don't, we
got a great chance of getting it back. It just
shows there's different ways to be an effective offense. The
(35:37):
Nuggets are kind of similar right there, Like we're a
two point offense based around Nikola Yogic, Whi's gonna make
all the shots, But I got heart hands for Shngun, Adams,
Amen Thompson. Kevin Durant is kind of just become a
guard at this point in his career, but he's given
a great effort on the defensive end. Of course, Reed
Shepherd's looking like Kyle Macy out there, just flying around
(35:57):
like Macy used to along. I had Walter Davis and
Alvin Adams, But I like what the Rockets are bringing
to the table. They're a different sort of team. They're
a tough team, and it's nice to have a third contender,
I think, because you definitely got Okac far.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Ahead of everybody right now.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
The Nuggets are right there, especially having a guy like
Jokic who gives them a shot in any sort.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Of playoff series.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
But I do think the Rockets have to be considered
at least a contender on par with the Nuggets. You
factor in the chance that they still have moves they
could make, like they could still improve if they wanted
to going forward.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
This season. It's been interesting because once Fred van Vliet
went down with an injury, they were written off, and
I just don't think they wrote back.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Yeah, the Rockets are fun. I still take the Nuggets
over them without their guard action, even though reed is
Kyle Macy. But they have been very impressive, No doubt
they're fun to watch.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
To me.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
The Phoenix Suns have been super impressive, so I'm most
thank for them being that. As NBA pundits, all of
us said, oh, come on, Phoenix is not exciting, it's
not fun. They're not going to be good, and then
just a few changes change the entire makeup of that team.
They got some capable bigs, obviously they would just play hard.
(37:17):
They've got an attitude change, and that's without Jalen Green
playing most of their games. So, as an NBA pundit,
to see a team being able to just simply change
the Jordan not effect. Can change people, can change teams.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Can you change a piece of shit?
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, they did. They did. They're way worse
last year, and even if they end up they're dropping
in the standings, they're still going to be way more
impressive even if they're sub five hundred, because right now
they're way over five hundred eleven seven. But if they
are sub five hundred, they're much more interesting, capable to watch,
capable of playing hard because there could be some more
(37:55):
injuries that happened there. Mark Williams does get injured a
lot that could happen. But Jordan, how is this team playing?
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Just to fact check you, ever so slightly, Yeah, one
pundit believed in the Sun's over this year, did you
me thirty one and a half? I took the over?
It just pretty low. Yeah, it's very low. It's very low.
But yeah, you're right, it's completely different. At least it's
vibes around that team and there is something refreshing to them.
And Dylan Brooks has been amazing.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Yeah he can change, man, he can change.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
He's a Brussels sprout. Yeah, they're polarizing, but I'm eating them.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Put it on a quote board. I am thankful for
the Oklahoma City Thunder. They've won ninety four percent of
their games right now, their net rating is sixteen point seven.
If they kept that up all season, that would be
the best all time. They don't even have their second
best player, an All NBA wing in jail And Williams,
so they're only in threear going to get better. But
(38:53):
the reason I'm thankful for them is, and you sort
of alluded to a TK we need a dynasty, baby,
We need the thought of dynasty. I think it makes
the NBA sort of exciting. Yes, we've had seven different
champions in seven years, not a repeat champion since twenty eighteen.
People have wondered has that helped the decline in TV ratings?
(39:13):
Maybe maybe a lot of people say, hey, the new
CBA ruined this right. You can't keep these dynasties together
the continuity. It gets too expensive. You got to break
them up. But we have one here, possibly an OKAC,
and I think that's very exciting them looking like a juggernaut.
So thankful for them because now we get to go, man,
who the hell's gonna beat that team? And then you said, no,
(39:34):
what do they get the Clippers top three pick? Come on? Yeah,
they literally hit the lottery and get the number one. Yeah,
in this draft, it sounds like top five you're getting
gold or top six maybe you're getting gold. Yeah, it's
crazy And just a fun stat about Shay Gildos Alexander
a raigning MVP. He's played in all eighteen of okc's
games so far. He scored at least thirty points in
(39:57):
fifteen of them. He's only needed to play in seven
fourth quarters all season because they're just crushing teams, so
he doesn't have to play the final twelve minutes and
still gets to his thirty thirty one, thirty two, thirty
three whatever it is given night most nights, pretty.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Good, very good. It's like Steph back when he was MVP,
didn't need to play in fourth quarters. But but, but,
but shape puts up more points than those steph years
in all honesty. So yeah, and it is weird when
you say the best net rating team, best net differential
team of all time because the way they started they
had two games that they went to overtime too to
(40:32):
start the season.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
Yeah, they're going to do it differently this year. They're
just gonna win close games this year. Yeah, nearly as
many clutch minutes.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
In the first week of the season, it was like, Oh,
they better start blowing some of these teams out, and
then they haven't been close ever since. Shay is at
thirty two points a game in thirty three minutes. Oh
my god, that's almost like Will Chamberlain statistics there, and
Chet looks awesome, Like Chat should be an All Star
this season, probably the front runner for defensive player year.
(41:00):
I would have to imagine with how good the Thunder
are and Wemby being down with injury, they look unbeatable.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
All right. Now, there's something about the five dash sixth season.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Bulls seventy two wins, ninety five ninety six, Warrior seventy
three wins, fifteen to sixteen. Huh, thundergoing for seventy four.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Every decade. There.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
That's hoping to watch. You may have just found yourself
a short my man. Oh that's Dibbs dibbs sure, all right,
all right, So those are our Thanksgiving you know, NBA
Thanksgiving questions. Let's hear from you guys. What's going on?
Speaker 3 (41:33):
Fanduels added odds here. Of course, they had the seventy
plus regular season wins. That's down to plus one seventy
eight right now. Wow, I mean they should be challenging
for seventy It just depends on if they're gonna want
it yeah at the end, or if they're just like,
let's see what Brooks Barnheiser gives, right, you know, he
still might win.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Let's say what Ustman Jang Brooks Barnheiser frontline looks like,
and they'll win by only eight points. But they've added
odds for seventy four plus regular season wins, which we've seen.
They also have seventy five and seventy six on there.
Now they're at a mile plus twenty two hundred for
seventy six regular season place.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
Look, we're getting close to nearly quarter of this season, man,
and they have one loss I mean, I gain, I'm
excited for tonight's game. Like Minnesota, if they care about
the Cup, they got to get that one. I think
they could it could beat them. It's one game. Then again, okay,
so he could beat them by thirty and no one
would blink.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
But Jalen Williams has to come back. He's a huge,
huge bonus for that. Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Yeah, and they're gonna have the thing like he's gonna
come back and they're not gonna have to, Like not
that they would anyway, because this does not seem to
be their organization's m O or any of their star
players MO. Like there's no worry, like we got to
get Jalen Williams out there for sixty five games, Like
it's already not happening. He's not qualifying, like not hitting
the extra mark, which actually works out in their benefit
(42:49):
and save them money, right him not making an All
NBA selection or winning any one of the major awards,
So like they don't have to. They can still play
it is my point, and work him into game shape
and it'll all be about the playoffs. Yeah, embarrassment of
riches man. They've done they've done well, Yes, they've done. Well,
it's November twenty sixth today.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
Yeah, what in your mind would have to happen for
the Thunder to not win the championship?
Speaker 1 (43:15):
Shaping out?
Speaker 2 (43:16):
I think, yeah, championship. I still believe in the Nuggets.
Given them a run in a playoff.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
Series, went seven games last year.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Yeah, you never know, you never know. This is a
special Nuggets team. Obviously, Thunder give me the favorite. But
the Nuggets are gonna be freaking good.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
Well, they're gonna have home court advantage. I think, yes,
they are, Okay.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
Yes, very likely.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, A lot of seasons stole Togo. Okay,
let's hear your answers for all those questions. Teams are
thankful for? Which players are Brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce
and turkeys and all that good fun. Lots more still

I asked this question yesterday and I just checked it
because you're reminded me saying no games on Turkey Day.
I think the last time the NBA played on Thanksgiving
Day was twenty ten. The Hawks defeated the Wizards and
the Clippers defeated the Kings. Okay, okay, what the Internet
is telling me. So, it's been a very long time here,
(46:02):
fifteen years since we've had a game on Thanksgiving. That's
for football.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
Now, that sounds like a football sort of like it was?
It was it in Atlanta? Was that game here? In
the Turkey game here?
Speaker 1 (46:15):
You're not sure? This is interesting. The NBA Players Association
negotiated that they get the day off in the twenty
eleven CBA. That's why we're not working Turkey Day. We
already play on Christmas. You know, we got ten teams
going on Christmas. Fair give it, give us this holiday off. Yeah,
that's right, it's true. Okay, let's get to Worst of
the Week, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
The worst of the week. We've got three nominees. It's
about fighting generally. All of them are generally about fighting.
But let's get to the first nominee, Ja Morant versus
Clay Thomas or Klay Thomas, Klay Thompson. Now, it wasn't
a fight, but they got into a bit of a hey, hey,
(46:56):
you're a bomb type thing. We talked about it. Yeah, yeah,
Trey brought it up on Monday. It says become a
bum fest because way back when Clay in twenty twenty
two called John Morant a bum, and John Morant ain't
letting that go. He said, Aha, you're the bum now
because he missed a shot. I guess because my man
(47:18):
Cam Spencer was hitting shots. I'm not going to go
into every single detail about the point fest and what
Clay said postgame in the press conference, but what do
you guys think after a few days, have you changed
anything any thoughts about Clay v. Murrant Not really Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:35):
Like Trey went over it well, I think most people
cided if you had to pick a side in this beef,
I think a lot of people were going with Clay
because like the one guy's not playing and Clay's like
that was sort of his point. He's like, you were
supposed to be the face of this league and you're
like you never play and you've been suspended and calling
out your team like come on, man, like you could
be better than this. It was like disappointed dad vibeses
(47:57):
from Clay along with the treshug love trash talk. I
love a rivalry, this is good, but you want both
guys sort of playing. Yeah, you got to actually count
or be something.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
So yeah, And I don't totally buy the he's sticking
up for his teammate defense. He's one hundred percent needling
Klay Thompson. And I think if it was Max Christy
who missed the three from the top of the key,
Jo says, nothing right, right, right, right, it was Clay
because they have a beef, which is why he brought
up Golden State, which was years ago, which is also
when John Rant was good.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
He did want a needle. I will. I don't know
why I want to support John Rant, but him jumping
into the postgame press conference when Cam Spencer is saying, yeah,
this is like he's just being interviewed, and Cam Spencer
sees Moran come up and can you see Cam Spencer smiling?
Speaker 1 (48:45):
Oh, there's my guy.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
So that's good for the team. I think that's the positive.
He obviously didn't need to say way better than that
guy in Golden State. You're way better than that. Yeah.
And then the pointing, the pointing directly in Clay's face
too far, yelling from the bench, Okay, it's a little man,
he's not playing. But then the getting right into Clay's
(49:07):
face too much, too far. But we talked about it
on Monday, so we did a great job. If you
want to listen to it again, go on back. Second fight,
second nominee. It's Kenyon Martin. Oh, Kenyon Martin number one
pick way back when called out Draymond Green, basically saying,
in all words, I was a better basketball player. This
(49:28):
is what I'm a better basketball player, and there's way
more players that are better than you. He named two
hundred power forwards better than Draymond Green. I'll name you
a few of them, Drew Good and Tim Thomas, Otis Thorpe,
Juwan Howard, David Lee, who ironically is the guy that
Draymond Green took the spot fromm in Golden State, then
(49:49):
they won all the championships, Nane, Popeye Jones, Reggie Evans.
He basically said that he wouldn't be able to play
in Kenyon Martin's era, and it was about again when
he he further doubled down on The Gilbert Arena Show.
He basically said, this isn't about the championships. Cut off
all the championships. Who's a better basketball player who can
score more? And then you know the other guy's Rashad mccantz.
(50:12):
Nick Young defended Draymonds and you can't just cut off championships, man,
That's part of the game. To the point, Yeah, sort
of the point obviously. Jamal Green incredible defender. Anyway, Draymond
Green went on his podcast and he said some stuff
defending Martin.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
Started this.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
If I'm not mistaken, If I'm not mistaken, I.
Speaker 1 (50:30):
Think, yeah, yeah, that's weird, right, a little bit?
Speaker 2 (50:34):
Yeah weird? Yeah, what instigated.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
You think Martin? Give us a list of two hundred
better Power Forward.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
Than Yeah, I mean Draymond Mayo said something that we
missed so many.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
True, I don't listen to the full podcast.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
Right, With so many players on podcasts, we do miss
some things in terms of the media world. He could have.
I didn't go deep, but it felt like Tenyon went
to he did a video. I mean it's io video
talking to the camera.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
Twenty six minutes live, just him just dist you're not
not kidding. He listed two hundred players. Yeah, no, he said,
I can name two hundred players. And then he named
literally forty four power forwards, Okay, which is nice. Like
I copied and pasted it just so I could have
a nice list of power for it.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
Did Lloy Vaught make the list?
Speaker 2 (51:23):
No, there's good ones, right, they're super good ones. The
ones on here.
Speaker 1 (51:27):
I'm not seeing lloy Vaught on here. Nineties power Forwards.
Speaker 2 (51:31):
Yeah, there's there's Jerk obviously, Giannis is on there. Who
other former legends Reggie Miller and Shack were on tracks podcast.
I guess they're debating is a power Forward? Yeah? That
whole thing. That's what we got you do, that's what
we gotta do. We gotta we gotta. We're just renamed
positions us. We should just put players into I know
(51:53):
it's like guards, wings, bigs now, but.
Speaker 1 (51:57):
I mean it's barely even that anymore.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
Just all five.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
We're just picking who's the best, which is totally fine.
Speaker 2 (52:05):
Yeah, but we need to rename positions something. We need
to we need new names for them. What's a power forward? Nothing?
There's nothing, now, what is it?
Speaker 1 (52:13):
It's true there's not very many traditional power forwards.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
Yeah, so it needs to change.
Speaker 1 (52:17):
There's no Arman Gilliams in sight. I did like that.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
He just threw some really bad guys at the end,
like Popeye Jones. He's like yeah for ships and giggles
because I like what they did for their team.
Speaker 1 (52:30):
Nate screen setters. Uh, this is a funny beef.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
Draymond Green's better than Kenyan Martin, but I think Kenyan
Martin would probably win one on one.
Speaker 1 (52:40):
Okay, I don't know. I don't know. Set it up.
Speaker 3 (52:45):
I'm sure they'll play in the summer or something like that.
When you said we should do it, I thought you
were going to say we should come up with a
list of two hundred podcasters that are better than podcaster X.
Speaker 1 (52:56):
I'm not throwing a name up. Come on, man, get
those clicks, Nate Dunk there are two. We gotta go
bigger name to get the eyeballs, you know, we gotta
go like low or something like that. We have to.
These are two hundred better NBA podcasters than Zach Low Boom.
That's one hundred thousand likes right there immediately. All right,
(53:19):
well then Nate Duncan's on the list.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
Okay, last nominee. It isn't a fight, but I had
to point this out. The Delta Center, where the Utah
Jazz play has banned signs from all Utah Jazz games.
You can't bring in a sign anymore. Can't be passionate
about your team and put it on a sign. You
just literally can't. That's it. That's all I have to
(53:47):
say about that.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
The rule is supposed to create an atmosphere that makes
the games more enjoyable for everyone. So we're people complaining
about maybe obstruction. Why I was figuring out site lines.
It's like a WWF event from in the nineties, late nineties,
remember those crowds. Yeah, that's all signs. Yeah, so that's
(54:11):
what they're saying, but.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
Part of it, for sure, Yeah, I don't know if
what was written on the signs was a problem.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
Well, that's always been a thing that they can take
confiscate your sign. Yes he said something it shouldn't say. Yeah,
you see it, you can take it. Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
Yeah. I guess it's blocking some people's site lines.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
But it's not like the person who's holding the sign
for the entire game.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
No, I think it's it's lame, and then the person
behind can say, hey, take that down. Maybe they don't
want to do that, but you know, it's weird quite
all right, just start. It's a conversation starter.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
Like I'm looking at a photo conversation of a young
girl I don't know what year this is from holding
a sign that says, once a jazz fan, always a
jazz Get that out of here now. It's fun to
think of, like axt year old man behind those girls,
sit down, stupid sign, Put it away, stupid sign. We're
in a number forty jazz Jersey. Who the hell's that?
(55:04):
Jeremy Evans, I cannot right. You may have been number forty.
I don't know why that sticks in my head. I'm
looking that up. Sorry, keep going? What about what about
that sign? Jeremy Evans. There you go. That's a real
fan right there. Yeah, yeah, get that sign. You shut up,
old man. Three rows back.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
They have a lot of promos like you go to
a table. They got some signs out there, some playing
branded signs. Maybe it's just bemo on it. Yeah you
write a sign, oh yeah, like in arena signs the bolt.
Speaker 1 (55:35):
I feel like Box do that for sure. A lot
of different teams do.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
Yeah, what's what the jazz they're saying, no way.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
Oh. We had a lot of no dungks fans or
maybe starters days too, because we were saying, hey, you
take a sign to a game, you know, we see it.
You get a photo, we're putting it on the show.
And we would get a lot of people saying, like
I try to take a sign and they took it away.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
M hm.
Speaker 1 (55:56):
So like this has been a thing in other arenas.
So I don't know why Utah finally coming around on it.
Let him signed, Let the boys and girls set, Okay,
I'm with you all that for the week nominee.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
All right, let us know your pick. Is it Clay
versus Job probably going to be that? Is it Kenyon
versus Draymond Green? Where's the fans can't bring in their
own sign anymore more.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
Than jazz I guess yeah yeah, yeah yeah Delta Center.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
The fans lose out, unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (56:26):
Let's hear your votes. Let us know your worst of
the week pick there from Tassa's nominees. Okay, love bite
love bye. Fantasy Line of the Night presented by Peloton. Sincere,
apologies to c J McCollum, what a game. Forty six points,
ten threes, Sorry, CJ. Luka. Doncic fell one rebound shy
(56:48):
of a triple double, and he scored a lot too
forty three points. He had thirteen assists, nine rebounds. In
the Lakers Cup went over the Clippers. The Don went
fourteen to twenty eight from the floor, seven to twelve
from deep, eight of eleven at the line. He had
one steal and one block in thirty eight minutes of action. So,
Luca Dauncic, you're will blit of the Night presented by Peloton.
(57:13):
I'm sorry, CJ. I went back and forth, back and forth.
CJ like had like, I don't know, like the blocks
and assists weren't super high. They're like no way four
and five or something like that. I think they're fine,
But I went Luca. You can get angry with me.
It's okay. He's gonna get a lot of these. I
do believe. I know. That's why I really felt like
I should have went CJ. But hey, Luca gets it.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
How many times did he slip? I want to know
the number.
Speaker 1 (57:40):
Check that tape. Yeah, slip on that cup court?
Speaker 2 (57:43):
He said, I slipped multiple times.
Speaker 1 (57:45):
Do you like that Laker's cup court all the yellow
because you've got the cup itself, which is you know,
incorporated into all of the cups in the lane, then
you got that bright yellow.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
It's a lot, It's a lot.
Speaker 3 (57:57):
Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of that one pea court.
You think it looks like urine, It looks like p
It looks like a toilet full of pe Oh in
a good way, a really good way.
Speaker 1 (58:10):
Okay, tonight's pick them game?
Speaker 3 (58:13):
Test.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
You're a bit of a heata right now. After going
back to ten or whatever it was to start the month,
you're six and eleven. Another victory last night, TK got
it as well. I lost back in the Clippers. Stupid Clippers.
What's tonight's game? As we close out the month of November.
Speaker 2 (58:28):
And the natural pick would be to go with Rockets Warriors.
It's a great matchup, it's on ESPN, but we've done
the big national TV games plenty, So I went with
a couple smaller market teams. Memphis at the Pelicans. It's
basically a pick them. The Pelicans are plus one and
a half at home, and they have won one in
(58:49):
a row. They crushed the Bowls one hundred and forty
three points.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
Hey, why did you guys bring that up?
Speaker 2 (58:55):
Yeah? Geez well, I felt like they made They were
almost lost the game before that. Zion didn't play that game,
And then the game before that, Zion had that terrible
close out, real late against the MAVs on that three
point shot? Was it Nauji Marshall, He just didn't even
go out there.
Speaker 1 (59:12):
It was as much of a closeout.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
So I figure he's playing tonight. Okay, no turkey tomorrow.
He can't play tomorrow. There's no back to back stuff.
Speaker 3 (59:19):
Now.
Speaker 2 (59:19):
The Grizzlies had won two games in a row before
their loss to the Nuggets. They're currently in the play
in they've sort of gotten it together a little bit
little bit. So Grizzly is at Pelicans. Two of you
guys taking the Grizzlies. I'm comfortable taking the Pelicans at home.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Grizzlies need this if they want to advance to the
next round of the Cup.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
Oh, what is a cup game?
Speaker 3 (59:39):
Cup?
Speaker 1 (59:40):
So it's a cup game. A lot of Cup games tonight,
all of them. I think that's why I sort of
leaned towards Memphis. This is tough though, I don't know.
There are a little both of these teams, a little
jackal and Hyde. To me, they look great one night
and looked like garbage the next. But I got the
I got the Bears with TK the Bears go Bears.
They play on Friday.
Speaker 3 (59:59):
They do.
Speaker 1 (59:59):
Yeah, they're gon was who they play? Packers? Oh yeahs
talk though, I'm seeing a ton of discourse around the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
They're like good still, they're good, but they're I think
they're squeaking by and they haven't been super impressive. And
their quarterback Jalen Hurts and their receiver A J. Brown
are like best friends dating back to college. But A J.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
Brown keeps calling out Jalen Hurts in the media say
give me the damn ball.
Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
Okay, okay, So there's you know, just your classic wide
receiver quarterback deba drama.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Right, they are the defending chances. Yeah, I was saying
so much about them. It was definitely about Hurts now
I think about it. Yeah, not playing up to his standard, bab,
But all right, go Bears, Go Bears. Tonight win all weekend.
Friday is a big one. Huh. It's like they got football.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
They got the Bears Eagles is like during the day,
and then they have all these cup games on Amazon
Prime as well, and then I think they have like
some other third event going down Big Day for Prime.
Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Well, oh there's another event on Prime.
Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Yeah, yeah, I forget what it is.
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
Yeah, yeah, yes, Prime Black Friday related. Probably yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
I bet you're gonna be able to click with your
remote and just order.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Shirts or sure you will be able to. All right,
tas has the Pelicans, we got the Grizzlies. I already
said this. It's the Drop podcast here today on a Wednesday,
because we're not doing a live show for the rest
of the week, so let's do some rapid fires. Never
all that rapid tk's got the question earlier.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
This week, Jake la Ravia and assistant coach Bo Levesque,
when a Lakers team pickleball tournament.
Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
They beat Luca and another coach in the finals. Luca
was upset in his postgame press didn't win.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Question for you guys, which NBA coach are you partnering
with to win a no dunks pickleball tournament?
Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Ex?
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
Well, I don't know if this is actually important in pickleball, JD.
Maybe you could tell me whether it is. I feel
like being tall is very helpful, having a long reach. Okay, well,
with that in mind, give me Tiago splitter, nice, tallest
coach in the game, six eleven, taking up so much court.
(01:02:15):
I'll be the speedy guy. I think we'd be pretty
solid together. Uh and yeah, just because he's huge. I
was looking that up today. Who's the tallest coach in
the NBA right now? Ai? Stupid? AI doesn't know shit,
he said Mitch Johnson. Mitch Johnson is like barely six
feet tall, six six one, tiny midge? What is AI doing?
(01:02:37):
Is AI doing?
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (01:02:38):
I should be able to measure how tall people? This
fun trivia question for you, because I already talked to
t K before you got into the studio here, how
tall do you think Jamal Moseley's on trivia question.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
It's I think he's a big man. You think he's okay, yeah, oh,
I'm wrong six seven.
Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
He's six eight, But I thought he was and traded
as well. We thought he was like much shorter than that.
He doesn't hold himself as a sixth seventh six. I
was like six' four.
Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
Maybe like you, KNOW i did see him in a
in an event yesterday during the game where he was with.
Kids yeah he was Tower, hey look that was clear to.
Me he's a big, man big.
Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Guy he's one of the taller. Coaches Will hardy pretty damn.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
TALL a meeting Once.
Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
Carlayer all, right, YEAH.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
JD i don't know If i'm stealing. YOURS i feel
LIKE i. Might i'm Taking Mike. Brown i'll tell you. Why,
NO i. DIDN'T i, Didn't, okay Good Mike. Brown Why
i'm taking him is because on the, court what he's
doing with The New York knicks this, year everybody's sort
of playing off the. BALL i think he would be
great at mapping out how him AND i would work
(01:03:51):
together on a pickleball. COURT i think he would be.
FANTASTIC a you got this, SIDE i got this. Side you,
know everybody's off the. Ball he's passing all. That the
reason WHY i THOUGHT jd you might take him is
because he's got an incredible collection of Motorcycles Harley. Davis, Yes.
Thompson the one thing that stands about my former Coach
(01:04:14):
Mike brown is that he's got A Harley davidson. Collection
It's Harley, davidson. Right, yeah so if we, lose we
can just jump on the bike together And i'll be
Behind mike and we can go on, win win or. Especially, yeah,
Exactly i'm on the.
Speaker 5 (01:04:29):
Back surprisingly easy to Picture.
Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
Mike hold on. Tight, YEAH i thought you were your motorcycle.
MAN i thought you that may has nothing to do with.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
MOTORCYCLE i guess you would be able to talk to
him about.
Speaker 5 (01:04:50):
Moru, yeah in between games and. Stuff, YEAH i Mean
i'd love to hang. Out, yeah but who are you going? With,
Well i'm going to the wh for? Mine is that our,
Right Becky? Hammond come, on she she does play pickle,
ball did his research and she actually played against the
(01:05:10):
head coach of the The Phoenix, mercury, right like they've.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
Played, before and didn't they meet together in the.
Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
FINALS i could tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
The w n B a Final natibbets nay, Tiots, yes, yes, Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Mercury and you know they played against each, other they played.
Speaker 5 (01:05:29):
Together according to A New York, times they've played like
they know each other and they played friendly pickleball and
then they face each other in the W nba. Finals,
yeah you, know she knows how to. PLAY i like
playing mixed, doubles so and, uh, yeah she should be.
GREAT i have a feeling she'd be, great you.
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Know.
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
Competitive Uh AND.
Speaker 5 (01:05:53):
I basically do WHAT i do With rachel and basically
let her do.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Everything just don't get in the.
Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
Way just don't get in the, way.
Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
Stay out of the. Kitchen that's.
Speaker 5 (01:06:02):
Right but my women like playing with me because that's
WHAT i. Do like a lot of men will like
they like they just hog the ball and they take
every fucking.
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Shot not, you not. Me i'm, like go for. It
i'm here to support. You like the.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Candle odds just DROPPED jd And Becky hammond minus one
seventy five.
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
FAVORITES i can't believe nobody Like Psycho.
Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
JOE i, feel oh, yeah like the Intensity, yeah maybe too.
Speaker 5 (01:06:32):
INTENSE i MEAN i Was IF i wasn't allowed to
go w n B, A i would have gone Like Phil.
Jackson somebody super, zen you know WHAT i, mean like just,
chill because once you're in your, head if you play,
angry you can't play.
Speaker 1 (01:06:47):

Speaker 5 (01:06:49):

Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Tree nice, good nice.
Speaker 3 (01:07:13):
Answers there you guys all successfully answered question number. Two
The raptors asked their players what they would do if
they could go back in time to have a tenth
birthday party. Again Aj lawson said he would go To
Canada's wonderland and.
Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
Have a pizza.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Party Garrett temple is, old so he said he would
watch A Michael jordan playoff. Game Colin Murray boyles vividly
remembered renting a game truck because his tenth birthday wasn't
that long.
Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
Ago oh, wow it was like ten years. Ago he's,
yeah it was a great. Birthday he had an awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
Time, wow he was born recently enough that game trucks were,
Around like that's a new thing in the birthday. Party,
yeah if you had your tenth birthday party in twenty twenty,
five what would you? Do?
Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
OH i answered this. Immediately Sky zone trampoline. Party maybe
that did not exist when we were, kids set up
THAT i, remember at least it wasn't in Southern ontario
