Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's keep things going. Book had thirty eight. Crazy,
thirty eight, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
The Raptors beat up on the Bucks at home. Jannis
had twenty two and eight. Kind of a little bit
below his regular season standards so far, but just a
tough game, foul trouble, the game just ended up getting
away from Milwaukee. But Giannis is just having just a
tourist start to the season, right He's putting the Bucks

(00:29):
on his back. Thirty two points per game, twelve rebounds,
six assists, sixty eight percent from the field.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I mean, did y'all leave him out of your top three? No?

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I left Wemby out.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Yeah, yeah, that was crazy.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
I don't like this for him.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I wanted to speak on that because he's thirty years old.
In his age thirty season, he's looking like a clearcut
MVP kind of candidate, if not even favorite at the moment.
Do you think he can sustain this though, over the
course of the season.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
I think he can. I do think he can sustain this.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
But my concern, especially like over the last couple of
years he's dealt with injuries in the playoffs, that I
don't want him carrying this type of low all season long,
just for them to make the playoffs, like he needs more.
When you start getting older and you've been dominant for
so long, you need people to take pressure off. Yes,
Like if you got to go out here and score

(01:29):
thirty five and thirteen and six and for y'all to win,
that's gonna be a every time tough every night for
eighty two or harvm ygaate say sixty five.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
That's tough.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Your body just gonna have so much wear and tear
on it, and then you don't even think about the
mental and physical grind of playoffs.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
That's tough. That's tough, it is.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
But I will say the team is better than what
I expected him to be. And even the game that
he sat out against Gold and Sate, they got a
dub like Ryan Robins who coos is showing like signs
of who Anthony like, they got some guys pitching in
like at moments. So if they can continue to do that,
Aj Green, if they can continue to do that and
he can play the love and he can still get
some Knights to rest, then he'll be alright. Yes, this

(02:10):
whole season.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
And one more thing, these numbers like Giannis puts up
I mean not Gianni's, but the Joker puts up these
similar numbers, but the way he plays compared the Joker,
he plays with more reckless abandon It's more throwing his
body on the defensive end offense, he's jumping over everybody,
dunking on, whereas Joker plays like he doesn't play above

(02:33):
the rim.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yeah, so it just it just looks like.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, the durability factor. To me, that's the biggest thing.
Because Giannice is one MVPs. I don't think he needs
to prove the people that he's one of the best
players has ever played.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
You know, he's put up.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Numbers, he's had incredible stretches, he's had postseason success at
and but you know, at the same time, I think
a superstar is supposed to.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Carry the burden.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
But to me, it's like to what end, Like, what
is going to be the ultimate result of this I
think about. I think it was the year right before
they drafted comingus, so the year right before Golden State
ended up going to the finals and winning it. Like
people a reporter was asking Steve Kerr about like Steph
Curry's pick and roll numbers, like he had great pick
and roll numbers, and Steve's like, yeah, we could go

(03:16):
out and play that way and maybe win, you know,
a few more games on the margin.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
And Stephan have all of.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
These stats and all of that, but to what end,
Like this is not that type of team and we're
putting all of that on his body and to to
do what right?

Speaker 1 (03:30):
And so we'll see.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I think Giannis is the kind of guy he doesn't
know how to dollar back, like he's going to be
in this kind of attack moment for the whole season.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
And he has to be honestly, yeah, it has to be.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
But also just a little bit about the Raptors, uh balling.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
The play, Yeah, I kind of I kind of slept
on them, especially in the off.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Season because I didn't understand how brandon ingram and and
and a j and I'm like, where is how is
this gonna work? But not moving the ball and letting
that thing fly from three and they's super athletic, and
I like what quickly he's doing as well.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
They're playing way better than I thought they.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
I gotta give credit to Darko they he got them
got them playing. You know, I saw them preseason in Vancouver.
They were jumping the trap like they picking up full
court jump trap, like forcing turnovers against Denver. I'm mind
judis preseason, but yeah, to show that they're playing and
they getting you know, one through ten, like they're going
pretty deep, deep into the bench and letting some of

(04:33):
those guys are doing well, you know, so I could
see them being a team said that can sneak, But
I still think they do need shooting though. They're missing
the shit with with all the pieces that you mentioned,
they are lacking the shooting aspect, and I think it's
gonna come to bite them at some point.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, Scotty's been more of a willing shooter this season
than he's been in the past. Ingram two, who's like
not a bad shoot, you just never liked letting the
three pointers fly. I think he's trying to make it
more of a because started. But I like about with
Scotty and Ingram, especially in this game, they're just more
in their distributed bag than you typically expect them to be,
especially Ingram. So that's been pretty cool to see heating

(05:12):
up As we continue on the Heat of four and
three beat the Breaks off the Clippers on Monday night.
Quick fun fact, this is the first time.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
The Heat it was at one point, it was a
one point.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I'm just thinking about definitely put some guys on it.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Bron's close victory against the Clippers. Just a quick fun fact,
this is the first time the Clippers have excuse me,
this is the first time the Heat have beaten Kawhi
Leonard since the twenty fourteen NBA.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Finals, like ten years. Yeah, wow, so san Antonio.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Again, he's missed a couple of years.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Though he missed a couple of years, but once.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
He's played unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Yeah, that's what three three separate teams, and tonight is
the first time they've beaten Kawhi Leonard and the Heat
fans got to see Kawhi Leonard l in ten years.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Bam Outebayo had another just incredible night. And to start
the season, he's kind of just been on a tear.
He's leading all centers and three pointers made, surprising, and
the Heat are playing at a top three level on defense,
which obviously he's the anchor of, which is.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
And I'm told by producer Chris that this might be
the Asia effect.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Wife.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I think he said he's getting married as soon as
he finished winning the finals. He's determined to get married.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
That's why he's playing whatever. What do you think about that? Terminations,
whatever inspires you.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Obviously he's having a career in the year and the
bar is set high in his house because.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, hell yeah, you know you got four time MVP.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Like the bar is high over there, so uh, you know,
he can't let her completely outshining, So it's probably motivating
him to go out there and do you.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Got to bring him up? Dark?

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I think it'ship a little bit dark, but for him
to lead the centers and three being out there is impressive.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah, he's he's he's making three thirty thirty six percent
clip decent volume. I'm I thinking the past has kind
of been the biggest knock on Mand and it's him
not being aggressive enough on offense, trying to look.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
For his own shot. But he's doing more that this year,
which is dope.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I like the system.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
You know, spoke with said Normous out.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
He's back now, but with Tyler herro Bean out, they
have to do they have to figure something out. They
don't have real star power without those two guys. So yeah,
it's more of a drive kick let's picking role type
of game. You got guys like Pantechyo Yo hotkasz Jovich,
Like they're out there playing confident and giving you good production,
and they're in every one of these games, if not

(08:12):
winning something, but they're in these games. So they're playing
at a like better than I expected. I thought Miami
was gonna be trash to start the season, honestly.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
I just I mean, you always got to have confidence
in his ability. Crazy, Yeah, it's it's tough. Davion Mitchell,
when he showed in the playoffs last year, earned a
nice little extension. He's always been a great like head
of the snake defender type, but the shot wasn't always consistent.
But it's way more consistent now, Like in the playoffs.

(08:40):
Is like this guy was just making all of his
open shots.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
You're talking about Mitchell for Miami. Yeah they made the
playoffs last year. Yeah, yeah, it was. It wasn't a
long stint, but yeah, who they playing? Who did he Playland? Yeah?
I got smoke.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yeah yeah, it was that quick.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
It was it was it was. It was that.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
It was ugly, bro, That's why you don't remember half
court shots on them like consistently.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
I know they traded, they got Jimmy out of there.
I just I just didn't notice them after Jimmy left.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yeah, I mean they were playing team, you know, playing
team for like the seventh year in a row. But yeah,
I just think bringing that group together is pretty impressive.
Just another miracle my coach and the Heat organization. I
know we make fun of like Heat culture and all
of that stuff, but like you look at that roster,
like they shouldn't be that good.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Well, you know, early in the season still.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
But before that they shouldn't have been. They were talented
enough to not be a playing team.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Was one of the best coaches though, just hands down.
I mean, he just attest.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
This is like, this is what coaching really is. Like
he ain't got no superstar. He got All Star. Bam
is an All Star. But like, come on, we can't
even name no, I can't even name too many guys
on theirs.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
And I think the cool thing is like yours accomplishes
him and you bring in a guy who Memphis just
fired to come in and revamp your offense, You empower,
empower a new dude, and you get the guys to
buy into this new style and it's paying words.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
That's pretty dope. To say yeah for sure.
