that in the story.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
This is real.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
This is this is real people way back in the day.
But this is really you know this ain't no problem.

You used to have to call Shorty after nine pm.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
The minute house going back.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
All right, Well, welcome back, guys man. A lot of
great feedback on the on the pilot.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Episode, first episode.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Super excited about that, super excited about where we take it.
But first let's review our picks from the prize pigs
segment from episode one when nights matchups really quickly. The
first was Donovan Mitchell more or less than twenty eight
and a half. Danny said more he only had fifteen.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
It was a rough knight for Dom.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Bro, it's tough.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
Who's that versus Celtics? Yeah, that's less less.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Next pig Evan Mobley more or less eighteen and a half.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Paul said less, he had nineteen.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
He picked it up.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Don had a little injury, but I don't think they
was just cold, Bro, he wasn't gonna.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Get to it.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Then we had Austin Reeves more or less than twenty
nine and a half.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Paul said less.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Just got it that game winner. Two was that twenty eight.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
I thought he's gonna get He was at twenty six
like halfway through the fourth, maybe like three or four
minutes left. I thought he was gonna get there.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
But but listen, though, price picks is good because like
eighteen and a half and he had nineteen.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
He knew exactly what the line is, yeah, bro.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
And lastly, Cade more or less than twenty five and
a half.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Danny said more he dropped the thirty thirty more.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
That's the one I got right, I got Evan and
I got kay right thirty ball Tennis says he got
to be more aggressive. They played well, mind you, they
played your Orlando magic.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
So it was kind of it was kind of a
smooth win for them.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
The second half was yeah, you know, follow and Tobody's
got into it briefly. Uh, and then the second half
the momentum swung a little bit.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
So all right, now let's get into last night's games.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
We saw the Warriors go down to the Bucks without
Giannis and they basically was toe to toe and then
pulled away in the fourth quarter. Ryan Hollins had thirty
two points against his former team.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Yeah, Ryan Rollins, Ryan Rollins, Oh.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Big man, Ryan.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
I don't think he's ever dropped thirty two.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Probably not.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
He's never had it in any game.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
The young fellow in ball, especially if the guards was
too with the two small guys. Cole came out high
and he came out hogh. But he kept it going.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
But you know who been you know, mentoring him, Rondo.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, he's over there.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
Over there, he's been taking them under his wing, and
I'm seeing I'm seeing some dog and Ryan Rollins.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Man, it's not just threes, man, he get into the basket,
your stuff, finishing at the rim, like he's being aggressive.
So I like how he's playing, leading the charge. And
then said, they getting eight guys and double figures. You know,
Bobby Porters, uh, Cole Anthony Miles Turner, like they getting production, Coops,
They're getting production all across the board. And you know,
before the season started again, I thought Giannis was gonna
(04:27):
be out and I thought they was gonna be trash.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Right.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
If they can get a win, that's a big win
for them without Giannis, and it's a bad loss for
Golden State.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Bad loss. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
You beat the Clippers, you beat a couple, you beat
Denver saying overtime, there'll be some heavy hitters, and you
lose to a you know, a team like this without Giannis. Again,
it's early in the season. I'm sure they fatigue. They
play six games. Not many teams have gotten six games.
But that's a tough loss for Golden States.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Before we move on, I'm noticing a trend with Paul
where anytime he could claim.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
A success for a celt he's gonna do it. Remember
with KG in the off season, so that.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
This off season influence, this early season, starting now, Rondo
has been mentoring Rollins and so that's the Celtics.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Success over there, we got as well influence.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
I love that. I do.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Gotta say though, just watching this Bucks, this Bucks team
this year, they do just seem like way more together.
They're playing super hard, docs seems like he's coaching them up.
This just wasn't the energy around the team last year.
I think something's been galvanizing this.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
We got more time together.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yeah again, you got guys said playing hard Torrian Prince,
like you got Gary Trent Junior. I got a couple
of guys with some vets and some young guys to
mix in. But you know, they seem like a group
that's like molding.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
You know, it's cool to see.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
I'm definitely surprised by their early season success. Don't yell
at me on the internet, Milwaukee fans. I didn't believe
in you guys, but you guys have proven.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
Me on us. I mean, they got trust Earl.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
I'm not trust me trust Yeah, it's eighty two games.
As we said last episode. Next up, we also saw
the Thunder continue their undefeated streak, of course against the
lowly Wizards.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Yeah, the Wizards. They put up a fight, bro.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
It was a good game until like the end of
the fourth Like those young kids were playing playing well
play like Blao Keishawn George like they've been they were bawling.
But Thunder, so they're playing some really good basketball, especially
down the stretch, which is a good sign.
Speaker 5 (06:32):
Yeah, they got that presence you know when you win it.
You know what I'm saying. They just always feel you
in the game.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
That's how Golden State was so like they just that
they thought they were like they didn't feel they were
threat threat until Milwaukee and then you can't let a
team like that get confidence. But yeah, definitely Thunders is
on some we good. We ain't worried at all no
matter who they've been in close games. But I think
this is and eventually long run's gonna help them because
(06:57):
they used to playing in a crunch time minutes and
when they get j dub back.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, that's this thing.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Because I was talking to some people before the season
and like one of the one of the things that
they predicted was that okay se would would break the
record for point differential, like they would blow so many
teams out, and it's been kind of like this season,
it's just like, look, we're gonna win.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, you know, we're not completely healthy right now. Topitch.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Shouts to him and his family. Hopefully he has a
speedy recovery.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
He's been reported that he suffering from testicular cancer, which.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
I can't even imagine what that recovery has to be like.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
So shouts to him and his family. Young guy people.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Because he missed all of last season with the season
engine ending injury. I think he had a knee if
I'm not mistaken, and now he's probably gonna miss all
of this season.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Tough start to his career.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
And then our next result, the Miami Heat went face
face to face with.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
The Spurs undefeated team.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
There's not many left, but Spurs undefeated still bro conferences
I said they were going to this year. They have
a chance to get to the Western Conference finals if.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
They stayed in the conference, they stay at home court.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
This is the first team and Spurs franchise history to
go five and oh, which is kind.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
Of crazy that was shocking because they got Dave.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Robinson, Timmy, the Timmy years, even the years had with
Tony and Mono Kawhi, Like, we didn't we won sixty
seven games one year when you.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Didn't start apparently apparently not.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
I mean I thought we did.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
You know, Sean was on the game calling it Sean
Elliot and he was like, nah, that's got to be wrong.
I thought it was wrong, but I guess we probably
lost the game. And at some point between the first
five games.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Of course, we got to talk about Wemby, who's just
continuinging just.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
To tour almost a twenty twenty game.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Just twenty seven I believe, eighteen rebounds, another six dimes,
five blocks, adding the still only three turnovers, which I
think is a big deal for because early on in
his career he was kind of a turnover machine.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
They were letting him experiment do crazy said when I
was watching him, like, what's going on over here? Just
letting him do it?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Who was coaching him?
Speaker 4 (09:10):
That's definitely not power, but they was just letting it,
which I mean it's paying, Yeah, it's paying dividence. Now
you're seeing the game in a way.
Speaker 5 (09:18):

dollars in lineups after you play your first five dollar
lineup prize picks is good to be right, And Paul,
you were somebody who in your career you got a
(10:41):
chance to handle the rock, you know, sort of monopolized possessions.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
When do you think it clicked for you?
Speaker 1 (10:47):
How did it click for you when you could just
see what the defense is doing and manipulate it to
your own ends. To go from a young guy to
just dictating terms to the defense.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
I think my third year that lead. You think the
third year says a lot, you know what I'm saying.
When you know a guy is gonna be a certain
type of player, like your third year, you're gonna be like, Okay,
he gonna be waner than once and some later than others.
But most of the guys, when you look at the.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Superstars in the league by year three, by year three,
they either an all star or borderline off star. Yeah,
and you know we already seen that from him in
year one, that he was gonna be a problem, but
now he's looking like a major problem.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Yeah at the MVP status.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Yeah, I mean there's no question that he's an MVP content.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
What I'm impressed. Is not just said the way he's
been hooping, but the other guys. I also thought was
gonna have a really breakout year. So about that thirty
years this is year two for him. Stephan Castle. Yeah,
like he's been defensively. I think he had like four
or five steals. Four steals, but twenty one, six and eight. Yeah,
you know what I'm saying, it's without Darren Fox, like
we expecting there'd be some shakiness.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Out being the Fox. He's been hooping.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
And also Dylan Harper number two pick thirteen off the bench,
Keldon Johnsons been hooping like they getting some production at
Harrison Barnes doing well vesel seventeen to nine, Like they
get some good they got a lot of depth. They're
looking like a young Okay, say so to me.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
It's interesting.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I want to ask you guys about this because Darren
Fox is out, and that's why I love the NBA.
It's such a cutthroat, high intensity, high competition league. Like
they traded for this guy that sort of helped them
get to the point where they could do stuff like
start five five and on the season. They've got these
two young guards that need to be developed they already
(12:30):
paid this dude, Like, do you think the coach is
going to be able to massage that?
Speaker 3 (12:37):
I think so?
Speaker 4 (12:37):
I mean, or do they got to figure out a
way to get to pay a Dylan Harper or Sef
Castle for another couple.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Of years when they do have to play them.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
They do so.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
When their contract with their extension kicks in. It'll be
towards the end of Darren Fox's tenure, which now the
early years is the most important where he can kind
of take Dylan Harper under his wing, Steph Castle and
allow them to grow and still, you know, do what
he does. I think there's a world where they can all.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Live, all three of them again. You know, you know
how the NBA is.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
It's an abundance of injuries as of late, which sucks,
but you need like it's like almost you need depth.
You need too many guards, you need too many bigs
because there's always somebody out is he is he gonna.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Stunt the development of these young guys coming. We're seeing
what they're doing now, Like, say, he gets healthy, what
do you is he starting?
Speaker 4 (13:29):
He's got me, He's got to start, I'm saying, guy,
But Dylan is still again who you. Who I'm saying,
who you take out a starting lineup to me is
probably Champenny.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
He's the shooter.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
So you can have a sell A Castle at the
two La the three Wemby and Harrison Barnes, So like
Champagny can come off, come off the bench, so you
can still start them together and have the two men
punch with Stephan Castle and Fox. And I think it
only helps Dylan Harper grow, like now if he's still
starting by year three or four, Dylan Harper that third
(14:01):
year you're talking about, Now you're stunning. I think now
you're getting into this what.
Speaker 5 (14:05):
I would do if I'm the G. If I'm the GM,
I'm looking like right now, I'm looking at us right now,
I'm like, we can really make a run. I might
need to trade Fox and get another veteran at a
different position, sure to help them to help, like maybe
another big I'm like my young guards. Yes, I need
them to develop for sure on the same timeline as Wemby.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I keep him for two years. I keep Fox with
two years and then see what happens.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
So last year was year one or was it not?
Speaker 3 (14:34):
We're not counting last count last year he barely played, saying.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
He has to finish this year and next year with
the this.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Year, give a two year run with this group with
him and to see how they grow. If they're growing,
like if Dylan Harper and Tough Castle, then it's like
we don't need Darren Fox anymore.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Now you get more three and d guys. Harrison bar
is gonna go.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
Like I can right now, you could, I could see that,
right but you just look, I'm not in a real
us to win it right now. But then think about
this right now today, I'm not going no rush to
win it. But if we get halfway through the season
and this person is like in the top two or three,
I'm like, maybe we can win it with this woman.
(15:12):
Y'am a kid right now? Because he's dynamic. Yes, I
mean he's something we've never seen.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Yeah, so you still need to have that point guard
though for the play.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
I understand that.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Yeah, so look for the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
But what kind of experienced Fox got. He's never been
on a d playoff.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Run, but he's played against stuff he did in the
first got more experienced than Castle and heard Utch, Yeah
not much, so I six more years like he's got
he can get to the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
What once, maybe twice, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
They did the playing as well. They had that he
was saying, two seed, and then they had the playing situation.
I want to ask you guys about the sort.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Of political angle there because.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
The guy forced his way to San Antonio, which nobody
it does. They paid them, granted, but like I forced
my way over there, and then y'all ship the business, bro,
you know, was.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Going behind closed doors. The powers that be.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Aren't gonna they pay it. Sort of, I'll make a
stink you pay.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
You pay a guy that much money, you don't want
to just let him go, right They said, you want
to give you time, But if you don't need.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Him, Danny Green is saying, that's what the money is for.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
You know what the business entails. Bro.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
As soon as you're not at the level, we playing
the max level, if we don't need you, if we
got guys that are cheaper playing at the max level,
we don't need that, we can save the money.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
You know.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
But again he's got he got interested, and I don't
think I don't think you can try a few Mexicans
like that. You have to at least wait a year.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
Look good, right now, nothing about if they're playing well
right now without him. He come back and they stopped
playing well.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
This pressure, this pressure on, this pressure.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
But super fascinating stuff happening in San Antonio. Will be
monitoring that super closely, especially because the Green Rangers San Antonio.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Bro it's an exciting team to watch. Think about your
top five teams you want to watch for sure. For sure,
it's just a kind of bombies that like he's an a.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
But when you were saying five, five and no, there
was like a smile crept onto.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Your making my prediction look better.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Look it's crazy when I say they can make the
Western cos it's a hot take, but look, I think
they can make the Western Conras fair all right.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
So we have some NBA Cup games coming tonight. Man,
I'm an NBA Cup guy just because I think it
adds an added layer to the regular season where you
know it's competitive, guys do want to win money. I
think playing in Vegas is cool too, So I've always
been a Cup that. I know some people like, oh whatever,
it's more regular season. I like when the regular season
(17:54):
has more stakes.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Not for sure, I got a little a little spice,
So anything to make it more competitive.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Un for in the first year the NBA Cup, I
was at the Pacers Bucks Kings and I was sitting
really close and I could watch Tyrese yelling at everybody
on the Bucks and Dame is like pissed. But Dame
is like, you know, he's always stoic, but you could
tell he was seething, and like, you know, Tyrese makes
(18:20):
a shotting like that.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
I'm like, man, this is this is fun.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
That's when the smoke started between them.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Yeah. Yeah, so super excited for this year's NBA Cup.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
We need more of that, bro, We need more like
we need more smoke. We need to They don't want
no smoke, but we needed a lot of friendly guys.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
I feel like you had a lot of smoke in
your days.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
I'm gonna be talking.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Like for real, I was. You know, they competed like that.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
Now you know after the like even the different things,
that's different. Now they shake hands after every game. It
looked like the jersey I never checked hands. I'm going
to my game. I'm going to my locker room just
before the game.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
I'm warming up, so you don't even I don't you
shake hands? Is after the playoff series is over, got you.
That's like all that. Okay, jump ball you we're gonna
see how so many times about the season, little whatever
you you go, yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
Cool, But then it'll be nice, you know, crazy, it'll
be nice. We'll come out there like all right, god cats,
we'll be in the huddle in the hallway before all right,
we're not we're not shaking at the jump off.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
So that's pre mad let them know.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
No, no, no, listen, we would be in the locker
room like, no shaking hands tonight. So like say, like,
somebody come up do this. I'm gonna just keep my shorts. Yeah,
looking down jump off, jump I'm looking down in the statement. Bro,
somebody come on, like what's up. I'm like, we did
get that a lot, shake hand, We did that a lot.
(19:57):
That's like, all right, we ain't playing with you all today.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
But you know, just before we get to the cupcames,
I think I want to stay on what you're saying,
because I really enjoyed with the Pacers, had going with
the Bucks with dam and them with the Pistons, had
gone with literally everybody where they just insisted on fighting
every single team in the league. Like I like that
sort of tension and animosity. I think we do need
(20:21):
more of it. I think when I was younger and
I would watch Barkley and then be like, Oh, these
guys are basically pussies for each other and blah blah blah,
I would be like, Oh, Chuck is old and it
don't make no sense. Like the Spurs don't beef with people.
They play great, they're super competitive. But now that I'm
a little bit older, I'm like, nah.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Like we need to be to take somebody girl or something.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Man, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Philly remains undefeated. Tyrese Maxie is somehow leading the league
in scoring somehow.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Man. They got a big NBA.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Cup game tonight against their bitter rivals, your Boston Celtics.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Do you think that'll be their first.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
L of the season at home Celtics coming off of
a pretty big win.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (21:12):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Do you think that will be Philly start the Cup
season off?
Speaker 5 (21:16):
I think I think Boston is starting to turn the
turn it around right now. Over the last couple of
games they playing, they started off slow. They lost to
Philly in the home opener.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I was there.
Speaker 5 (21:24):
They lost to the Knicks, and they lost to Detroit.
Then they bounced back versus New Orleans and they beat
a really good Cleveland team. Yes, so I think they're
starting to turn the corner. I think, uh, this will
be they will be up for this game. You know,
Joe Mizzoula don't like losing the Philly. This is a
conference this is a conference rival, ye division rival. Always
(21:46):
It's always been animosity between Philly and Boston, and I
know they gonna want this one back.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Who do you think is having a big night?
Speaker 5 (21:54):
I look for Jalen Brown to continue like he's been
playing well. I look for him, uh to play with
a chip on the shoulder. He's been leading the charge
over the last few games. Uh. You know, so we're
gonna have to find a way to stop Maxie, of course,
but we got the defenders to do that. We can't
let the young guy get off. But we can't let
the rookie. Yeah, come out there. I mean he just gone.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Joe Missoula was grinding tape man the days before this
game and he's like, we are not gonna let these
dudes drop thirty a piece on us.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
Yeah, he's on the scouting report now. Yeah, you know
what I'm saying. Before that game won it was like
Maxie mb okay, but whoever could guard the rookie? Yeah yeah,
But now he's on the scouting report yea, his name
is highlighted boom okay. Don't let him get off something.
So we'll be up for it, and I think we'll.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Get that Jaalen Brown big night. What about you, Danny.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
I'm thinking Peyton Pritchard because he had the last two
shots at end of the game. They kind of get
they gave that game away on us.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
So they was winning.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
It was there and I know Jalen was upset. He
probably didn't get the last possessions. I know Payton's said
that he missed the last two possessions. I'm expecting him
to play. But I think they're gonna come out with
a chip on their shoulder in Philly. I think it's
gonna be tough if they are playing better basketball. I
think I think Boston somehow finds a way. But I said,
(23:15):
I think it's gonna be tough for them in Philly,
But I know, I think they just have more motivation
because they lost that opener. But it's gonna be a
tough game and it's gonna be a good game. I
still see Tyreez can probably get in his thirty thirty three,
thirty four VJ gonna get probably like seventeen. I don't
know how many minutes Joel is gonna play, and I
don't I gotta see the schedule because it was a
back to back, he might sit the front end, in
the back end.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
We could talking about this game that Joel was like
the last person yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Two years ago.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
All Star.
Speaker 5 (23:44):
He's on minutes restriction right now though he's not playing
back to back, so.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
We don't know if they have a back to back
in this this week, you know, but.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, I'm I'm watching Maxie man. He's he's playing with
a swagger in the confidence and you know, while it
felt like most of the time he could only get
off with Joel because they had that beautiful two man
game that they developed and like that's how.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
He would get going for himself.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
But like like obviously now you just like know like
cook on the court. So I'll be watching Maxie in
that game. Another undefeated team seeing an NBA Cup action
at the Chicago Bulls who played the New York Knicks.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
When you said it, when you said the sentence, I
don't think you believe it is Chicagod.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
It's wild. The game will be in Chicago.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
The Knicks, Knicks get this one. Man. If they don't,
it's gonna be.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
You can't name three players on Chicago.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
It's tough.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
I mean, I mean, no, you got heard her, Ken
Kobe White, Kobe White not playing. It's kind of crazy
for the to be winning. Bozells is nice though.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
Yes, Bzillius is a super.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Bozillis is Bozellis.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
I like, you know what he do like that.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
He's the kids.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
Yeah, I do know him. He's about six nine, yeah,
six have a young pier he got. He got an
all around game. I like him.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Nah, they they because they're young.
Speaker 5 (25:22):
They're young.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
They're doing it as a group. They're doing together. Giddy's
is a.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Good Billy Donovan somehow, like he's in his like tenth
twelfth season.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
He's been doing that forever. He did it.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
But okay, see when they had downy figure it out
how to win games.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
When they have it down here, this one guys, I
got the Nicks of the Okay, I was waiting.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
They can't lose, you know, hold on, hold on in Chicago.
In Chicago.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Himself being five Chicago.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Yeah, I'm going to Chicago, Chicago.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Can you know for Chicago?
Speaker 5 (26:01):
You know why because because I don't know them cats,
But I bet you they playing hard, their young boys.
The Knicks gonna walk in there like it's sweet.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
They just took a loss though, so they got.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
These young boys. They hard to scout. When not on
the scout, you know what they could do. So you know,
it's like it's like those games when the superstars sit
out like Milwaukee, and then you're like, damn, yeah, who
the guy? That's what the Chicago team like? All right.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
I just can't see the Knicks like not taking this
one super seriously coming off a bad loss, and like
with the expectations coming into this season, I know people
want to be patient, but like Nick fans don't really
have a history of patients, a lot of pressure.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
On them for that game. I think the Knicks would
take that.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Also, playing the Pelicans will be playing the Clippers looking
for their first win of the season.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
They're still they're still going to be looking.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
But without Zion.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
But bro, how bad the Clippers have been playing.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
I think I don't know, they still have a I
think this is gonna be ugly basketball, but it's gonna
be a close.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Game, Danny.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
They had to start the third quarter against the Nuggets.
It was twenty nine to two.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
That's the Nuggets.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Though you're not an NBA team, but the Nuggets.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
Really, five guys off the street, you get you more
than two with me out there two points. Nobody's going
on a twenty nine or two runs. Come on with
five guys.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
It's an anomally. We don't see it happen off there.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Murray is still out for the Pelly. He's one of
their best players. Bradley Bill Bradley Beal still sitting. Will
be a game time decision for the Clippers.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Yeah, I mean Clippers should win the game, but I
still think it's gonna be because second half. Clippers always
cut that third quarter for some odd reason. It's gonna
be a ten point It's gonna be a ten point game.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
I love Willie, but.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
You subscribing to the was the theory of NBA coaching.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
It's not looking good. Yeah for the Pelicans. Yeah, it's
all I'm say, not looking good.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Why want the subject of tonight's games.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Let's get into the picks of the night presented by
prize picks a couple of I think exciting, especially individual
matchups for these guys tonight. First up, we got DeAndre
Ayton more or less than fourteen and a half Lakers
versus Grizz.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
I mean Grizz inside, who got Jay Huff? I'm trying
to think of who else? Just Jaron Jacksons. He always
gets a foul trouble. Yeah, he is a very good
rim protector though, but without zach Adie, I feel like
he's right at the line.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Man, I'm gonna surprise y'all, and I'm gonna say more
than yeah for Aighton.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
I mean, with Brin and Luca out, it's heavy. Austin
Reeves and Aight and Jake Larevia had a night the
other night. I don't know we're gonna see that again.
But they need scoring from RUI gave been out, Marcus
Smart been out like he's got to have, so I
go with more. I'll go with more because he's got
to like for them to be in the game.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
He might be at least.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
Favorite playing Likedre I mean, but I just I'm not
sure offensively, Yeah, you know, down.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
He is, but he's gonna play most of the minutes
because I mean, Jackson gonna.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Get the minutes. But just like you know there, this
is a perimeter based team, you know. And it's not
like he stretches the defense with three point shooting, you know.
So I'm going less.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
So what I'll say about a and and the way
the Lakers are playing right now, it kind of reminds
me of the Utah team with Rudy and Donovan on there.
The only person I would ever pass Rudy the ball
is Mike Conley. He was like literally the only person
that and for a lot of the same reasons. By
(29:53):
the way, a lot of dudes are just like bro,
last time I gave it to you three ft from
the cup, you messed it up. But it seems like
Austin Reeves is convinced.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
That Ayton gets some touches he needs to.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
Believe he needn't to keep the defense honest, Like he
can't get open looks if he don't drop the ball off,
he can't get layups. But ye know what I'm saying,
if Ayton don't get a touch or two to keep
the defense honest, since.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Hes gotta build his confidence up.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Next up, we got Tyrese Maxi more or less than
twenty nine and a half. Yeah, I mean he's got
to drop another thirty ball against the Boston Celtics.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
He's going streaking right now. I thought originally he would
get but some mean someone's telling me he didn't get
like twenty eight. I feel he's gonna end up getting
like twenty might still be.
Speaker 5 (30:37):
In the game.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yeah, so Danny's going less.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
I'm gonna go less than. I'm gonna get less than
with all.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
Right, so listen, I don't think DJ is gonna go off.
I think he's gonna carry a lot of scoring. Love
the guy. I had a chance to watch him Game one,
So Tyrese MAXI averaging thirty seven right now, I know
it's my Boston Celtics. I think he's gonna have more.
He's so hard to stop. I saw this in person.
(31:02):
I'm like, this guy's impossible to stop. He got Florida,
his his step back three. I mean, he's so explosive
to the hall. I didn't transition. You can't stop him.
I'll give him more than that anore.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
And he's been very good against the free throw line.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Yeah, he's learning players like that. He can have a
bat shooting night and they go like ten to twelve
from the line and make like three threes. That's already
twenty right, you know what I'm saying, Right, he's gonna
have Now, he's gonna.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Have a page or two out of Joel and James's book.
We'll learn how to get to the free throw line.
So that's what made him like thirty seven. That's the
reason why he's every thirty.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
He learned from a couple of masters.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
In terms of the foul baiting, I'm gonna go less
than as well. I just think that's gonna be a
coaching kind of performance.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
I just I just think Missola's gonna game plan the.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Way you're gonna trap him a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Not just allow the best player clearly on the team,
the best point guard in the Eastern Conference.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Damn there right now, to drop you know, forty on
your head right now.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
That's what Jayalen Brunson right now.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
He's you know, damn next up, we got Jalen Brown
more or less than twenty five and a half.
Speaker 5 (32:07):
Going more with Jalen Brown because I think he started
to get into an offensive groove. Now you know, he
had a forty one point game. He's went over twenty five.
He had a thirty. You know, I think he's starting
to find his groove and understand that. Listen, Jalen, we
need you to score twenty five to thirty a night,
you know, because of the offense that we're losing from
not having Tatum. We don't have Drew Holliday this year,
(32:28):
we don't have Porzingis. Yeah, we have to carry the
offensive low for what they don't have from a year ago.
I'm going more.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
I'm gonna go more as well.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
I mean he's got to have he's got to average
a lot more for them to be in games. Yeah,
and I think he gets his average, which I think
is higher than twenty five, but yeah, for them to
win the game or being games, he's got to average
like thirty three.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
So I want to.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Ask you, Paul, because in between the KG era and
the Twin era was some dark days in Boston definitely
where it was literally it was you that was the
jailing Browner This year probably even more so, Like what
was that like in those those years, those intervening years
where you going to the playoffs all the time than.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Not, and it's just everybody's just looking at you.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
Yeah, I mean, it's a lot of pressure to perform
each and every night. Everything is on your shoulders, you know.
You know, if you don't get twenty five or thirty,
y'all don't have a chance to win. So it was
just like every single night, you gotta have that mindset,
and you know it's difficult because you got to think
about it all the teams are designing the defense to
stop you, you know what I mean. So he has
(33:41):
some help, you know, because I know Derek White, he
takes some pressure and Payton Pritcher. You know, that's more
help than I have in Simons, those dark Simons. You know,
those guys can get buckets, you know. So not necessarily
he has to get thirty. But you know when he's
aggressive like that, it's a good sign for the shit.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
He has to get thirty.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
Brof, you don't get thirty, they're gonna get blown like.
If he don't, he gotta get at least twenty eight.
If they don't get thirty, they're gonna get blown out.
He gets twenty, that's a bad night for him and
a bad night for them. He gets twenty, which is
a good night for most people.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
But if he don't get thirty.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
I agree, last, but not least, Joel Embiide more or
less than eighteen and a half points?
Speaker 5 (34:19):
Are we going less on that, minister restrictions, I'm saying
he might.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Not mean he had twenty three to the night twenty
two minutes. So he's capable because he's smart noise to
get to the free throw line. But I'm gonna go
less as well. I'm gonna go less. But the mint restriction,
he's not getting a flow rhythm, and I think he's
also starting to take more and more of a back
seat like he is now more.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Like Paul talked about that, he's.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
In pass like he's not. He's looking to tire like
our tires, your team j like Quinn Grimes. He's more
in that mode where it's taken away from him in
the minute restriction. You can't do that and try to
still get twenty like he's good that.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
Yeah, listen, he's been the guy.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
They're undefeated. You can't argue with the results at.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
A certain point, but he's been the guy, and how
far has he taken them?
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Right?
Speaker 5 (35:03):
Like now the dynamic has to change and see, hey,
how let's see where the mass he can take us? Yeah,
and so.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
I'm going less than also, yeah, well less than eighteen.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
Damn, this dude average thirty three a year ago. Yeah,
we said he's gonna get less.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Than twenty twenty five minutes, and so he got ya anybody, or.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
He went down during the break or whatever it was. Yeah,
he was averaging like thirty five.
Speaker 5 (35:29):
That's what I'm saying to that.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
All right, There's two teams out East who came into
the season with major expectations, conference finals level expectations and
have not shot out the gate. That's the Orlando Magic,
who were two and four as of our recording, in
the Calves.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Who are three and two.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
But again, Calves are basically most people's favorite to go
to the finals, most people outside of the city of
New York.
Speaker 6 (35:57):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
And Orlando was expected to be right there, neck neck
with the Calves in that pursuit of getting to the
NBA Finals.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Should they be worried one to ten? What's your worry metering?
Speaker 5 (36:09):
My worried meter for Orlando is it's probably like an eight,
because listen, I thought I looked at Orlando as like
gonna be one of the top three teams. Yeah, I
watched them. They don't look nothing like a top three team.
Like they still struggle offensively, you know, they still can't shoot.
And I need Pablo Paolo ben Carro to take his
(36:31):
game to MVP level. He has a type of talent.
He hasn't shown me that every night fans told me
he was the next Bron I mean he got that
kind of ability. No, seriously, I like this kid a
lot like I expected the young team like Orlando come
out like blazing, like they're a young team, you want
to get off to a quick start and so like.
And then I'm watching, I'm like it don't I don't,
(36:53):
I don't know, I don't know, but.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
I'm out of nine. I'm very worried about him.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
You said, fine, both these teams, I said, Eastern Conference Finals.
I don't think finals because Cleveland, to me, is always
gonna be low bro to some of those, like whether
it's New York or Boston. I feel like that anytime
they match up with one of those teams of Philly
in the playoffs, they're gonna end up losing for some
odd reason and they just can't stay healthy. So I'm
less worried about Cleveland because they don't have the full
(37:24):
package right now. Orlando, there's no like you got. I
think they have everybody there. I don't think anybody is out.
That's a major piece for them. Wagner is uh.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
But he's like.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
Energy off the bench.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Yeah, yeah, he's he's sets a certain time.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
They have what they need, they should be playing better.
So I'm out of nine with Orlando, and right now
I see them if this I said it's early, but
the way they're trending, they're looking like playing, which is crazy.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
They're spposed to be at top I can't believe will
be the top four.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
Seeded two have home court advantage and right now, again
it's early, but they're looking like the play it like
the outside of the six.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
I want to.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Ask you guys, as a fan and somebody who consumes
media my whole life watching the NBA. You know, I
watched the Orlando team and they made their They made their.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Money on defense for two three years.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
They established an identity one of the few teams in
the last few years where it's like we punch people
in the face, we're super physical. We're top three, top
five defense every year. They come out the gate this
year with the same dudes minus KCP, which like come on,
KCP is not freaking Bill Russell, and they do like
(38:42):
what is that? Like, what do you think that is?
Is that tuning out the coach? You know, has he
lost the locker room?
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Like?
Speaker 2 (38:49):
What is that? Again? I'm not getting on my fire.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
To the coach horse, I'm just asking, like, as guys
that were in the league in locker rooms, like, what
is that inconsistency disconnect?
Speaker 5 (38:59):
Well, I think when you lose certain guys that you
built the culture with a defensive culture with, then when
that's not there, like you said, KCP, call Anthony. You know,
these guys were a defensive presence for them and even
not even having Wagner for them, and it takes away
a little bit because has left, right, Yes, yeah, so
(39:22):
like that that plays a big part because then in
saying KCP, he's a champion that people in the locker
room respect. Yeah. Yeah, So if they're getting off to
a slow start, he could be the guy that could
be the voice. So who is that guy now? For Orlando?
Is it dang Like he's new to the team, so
he's still trying to feel guys out. I don't know,
you know how much you know how loud his voice
(39:42):
is in the locker room. Yet when you got a
champion in a locker room, when he speaks, everybody listens,
So they're missing.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
That for sure. They're definitely missing that.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
That also, I mean, I don't know what the contract
situation looks like for them. With the young guys, some
of them might have e paid, That's what I'm thinking.
But the offense, like, you know, I need to get
the buckets because I need to get my extension. I
need to get paid. I don't know who it is
or what it is. I think everybody up over there
is paid, but maybe they're just thinking, like you know,
(40:14):
they obviously lost themselves a little bit and probably just
focus on the wrong things and need to get back
to it. And that's on the coaching staff to nip
it in the butt and like we got to get
back to who we are identity. I know offense is
not looking good around it, but our defense can always
be consistent every night.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Yeah, because you always hear the phrase culture, right, and
you know every team is trying to.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Build a culture. What's a culture? It's like it's like
the accepted behaviors.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
In our situation, like this is how you allowed to
carry yourself act. This is what we do, this is
how we move here. I just wonder who is setting
that culture.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
That's a good question. I don't think we know. I
think it's show.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
Point, like who is that? Like?
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Sometimes it is a veteran guy, championship guy, a trusted guy.
Sometimes it's just you know, you got Riley and Spoe
who've been there forever, so that heat have a culture.
I know it's a cliche, but it's true. I wonder
who it is that's set in that culture.
Speaker 5 (41:10):
I think he's the leader. Yeah, like the leader. We
don't know.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
I should fifty million, both should be the leaders.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
But you do have Tyas Jones come off like he's
he has some years in and he's a smart point
guard set the table. You got all too many young guys,
and I think it's showing. That's that's why they don't.
They're not as locked in defensively because they're missing that.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Yeah, I think, you know, it's different, like different teams
is different.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
Like obviously okay see is its own thing.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
But for whatever reason, those guys seems to galvanized around
Shay and they follow his.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
Lead like other guys. They got Carus over there.
Speaker 4 (41:48):
Yeah, they got some they got hard and signs a
little bit like some guys are a little bit older, but
not super old, but a couple of guys that are
in the middle that.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
They seem to be focused right for sure, they play hard,
tough defense every single night despite the opponent. You would
think Orlando, with the athleticism, the physicality they've shown in
the past, they could do the same. But I guess
it's not early. We're not gonna jump out the window.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
But we're still concerning Cleveland. I've heard some rumblings.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
Okay, so you are concerned.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
I'm a little concerned. I've heard some little bird Birdies.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Just saying there might be a Kenny situation. Gods, that's
what I've heard. And you know that, Like I have
a lot of respect for what he's done in the
league with his reputation, is that he might be the
kind of guy that wears on people after a while,
little Birdies is saying that don't shoot.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
The message.
Speaker 4 (42:50):
Than what has happened in the past.
Speaker 5 (42:53):
Is for sure.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
I like, I don't see how you can be.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
Than when they had beforehand.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
But I'm so I'm at a six and a half
right now, six and a half.
Speaker 3 (43:05):
Yeah, yeah, that's pretty.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Yeah, because they're supposed to be a dominant.
Speaker 4 (43:09):
Again, they're not fully healthy. So yeah, all right.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
So next thing I wanted to throw at you guys, NBC, NBA,
L NBC is back. My inner child shooting socks into
the clothes hangar. Yeah, it's crazy, the nostalgia from NBC
being back. But they're doing these these little vignettes with
Michael Jordan and Mike Turrico, and Mike got in his
(43:39):
two cents about you know, a hot topic which remains
so load management, which another thing. Thanks for nothing Popovich
and the Spurs, y'all invented that ship and now we're
all dealing with the repercussions of it. But Mike said, quote,
it shouldn't be needed. I never wanted to miss a game.
I want to impress that guy way up on top
(44:00):
who worked to buy the ticket. He's probably yelling at me,
calling me names, so I want to shut him up.
Mike's just saying, you got to perform. That's what you
get paid to do, to show up and hoop Danny.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Yeah. Yeah, you guys did this to the league, bro. No, not,
you guys ruled with this.
Speaker 4 (44:17):
The way pop and San Antonio did it very differently
than how it transition to people. So like Kawhi left
and then it became load management. When we got to Toronto,
was like he sat out games because they said, like
in San Antonio, we just he didn't have to play anybody.
They were so we were so deep, he didn't have
to play us more than twenty five minutes a game.
(44:39):
Everybody played twenty twenty five and then when we would
win enough, then it was like all right to the
end of the season. But we played every game like
we played.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
Most of the games. There was multiple seasons.
Speaker 4 (44:48):
I played seventy five plus sure, and I didn't sit
out unless I was hurt. Reason being, we have people
behind us that was ready to take our job. You
know what I'm saying, I'm not sitting games. I'm not
being hurt for too long because I'm not trying to
get a wait my minutes to anybody. Now, some superstars
can get away with a little bit, but even they
still knew, like certain guys are behind me that are
very What I'm talking.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
About is those like nationally televised games where he.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
Didn't want to twice. He didn't want to twice.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Against the heat and people just like what are we doing?
But you're saying it wasn't as deep as it goes.
Speaker 3 (45:21):
It wasn't as bad as it was as it is. Now,
where are you at with log Now?
Speaker 4 (45:25):
It's like certain guys are just not playing back to back,
so you know, he just not he's sittinglows.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
He sat us. We have like a seven and ten nights,
seven games and ten nights, and.
Speaker 4 (45:34):
It's like, all right, these guys are thirty five, like Manu,
Timmy and Tony are old. The older I wouldn't say old,
there's older. He's like, yo, if I play them, they're
gonna get injured.
Speaker 1 (45:45):
Saying if you're not like thirty five thirty six, what
do you load managing?
Speaker 4 (45:50):
No, it's not necessary. So again, I mean, I'm all
for guys staying healthy and not have injuries. So having
a player I got thirty five minutes a night every
night is a lot, so he might need it.
Speaker 5 (46:04):
But the best athletes on them, Yeah, and a good
professional play eighty games what ten eleven times? So are
you telling me whether athletes better then or now? Were
they more durable then?
Speaker 2 (46:18):
Are now way more training?
Speaker 3 (46:19):
More durable then?
Speaker 4 (46:20):
I mean they played in the converses back then with
the bad technology NBA game, they didn't have any of
that technology back then, and they you.
Speaker 5 (46:29):
Know, low management should be saved for just certain guys.
I believe you know what I'm saying. It's not certain.
It's not It shouldn't be for somebody who, oh, we
got three games in four nights, so you know I'm
gonna play these two and miss this one like it
shouldn't know. It's certain guys that you can say in
the league right now, like, Okay, I get it, and
b several injuries. I'm not mad at that. Yeah Lebron, Yeah,
(46:55):
forty three years old, come on, like, you know, I
get But not a guy who plays and is healthy
and he looks at the schedule and say, I'm gonna
be too tired for this last game on the road trip, Like,
come on, man, take some pride. You put on this
jersey where were pride? You'll all make good money. You
know you deserve to give it to you, not only
for your team but for the fans. So like for
(47:18):
certain people, I get it, But it's only certain guys
and it's not that many of them, Like I can't
even think of.
Speaker 3 (47:25):
There's probably ten guys in total.
Speaker 5 (47:26):
Maybe say I'm okay with that.
Speaker 4 (47:29):
Anybody in their twenties for sure, damn sure not have
loango management. And if you're under thirty five, like now,
if you're a super, if you're a star over thirty
and you're playing a lot, I said Steph Curry, KD. Brown, Joel,
certain guys now again, only the only way a twenty
year old. Let's say Tyre's Max, he's playing twenty straight
games and he's playing forty eight minute in its double
(47:50):
overtime game.
Speaker 2 (47:51):
Keep going, but keep.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
Going, you're rolling, you're rolling.
Speaker 4 (47:57):
Come on, now, that's a formula as you see it today.
It's a formula. Something happened. So it's like, yo, I
need to give this kid because I.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
Don't want to hurt. You can't prevent injury, especially if
you definitely can't.
Speaker 5 (48:09):
Know you can't. It's not scientifically proven.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
It came out and said, it's not like the science
has been.
Speaker 5 (48:19):
Every day rest, I could get rested to come out
the next day injury.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
I'm not believing you can definitely prevent.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
Adam said that you and they've been carry your.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
Body and rest and recovery is definitely helping you prevent injury.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
So if you're capable, if you're.
Speaker 5 (48:34):
Up and.
Speaker 4 (48:36):
Peel's like ten and two, sure or you know, fifteen
and three.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
They have a lot of games. All right, we can
rest hurt.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
All right.
Speaker 5 (48:43):
Let me ask you this. This is basketball, right, So
what's the most common injury in basketball?
Speaker 3 (48:48):
Spring or so?
Speaker 5 (48:49):
My rest depends on if I'm a sprain my ankle,
I'm thinking that's just jumping up in the air coming
down on Sure, but you.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
Got to fatigue is more hamstring capstring.
Speaker 5 (48:59):
But don't we don't get We don't get pulled ham
strings in the NBA, not as much. No torn ham strings.
I don't never hear that about that injury.
Speaker 4 (49:07):
No, we get ham string strains sometimes.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
Like I haven't played with one player ever and my
whole career that had a hamstring string.
Speaker 3 (49:18):
That's I've had one had one last year that's playing
with one player.
Speaker 5 (49:24):
That had was out because of a hamstring. I can't remembering.
Fox is out right now. It's the ankle. I mean
we've had.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
Achilles, and Edwards is out right now with a handy.
Speaker 5 (49:33):
Yeah, but it's achilles. It's the major ones, a broken bone.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
To me, it's about that's what y'all get paid. You
get paid to.
Speaker 1 (49:41):
Hoop if you're if you're part of the game. I'm sorry, Like,
we can't just be like putting the training wheels.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
On these guys. Like and I understand too.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
At a certain point, it's kind of unfair of the
guys because it is coming from up top, and it's
like management is there, like data analytics people, sports science
people that they got in the front office. It's like,
look like we're monitoring these guys, and you know, his
heart rate was there some.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Black we might play. I get that, but like.
Speaker 5 (50:09):
That was a way to create more jobs in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
And.
Speaker 4 (50:16):
How we perform, I get that against your contract we
got they.
Speaker 2 (50:21):
Gotta miss me with that.
Speaker 1 (50:24):
So scoring is way up right now in the league,
and free throws, not surprisingly, are a big sort of causing.
The leading indicator of higher scoring is bet you the
free throws up. Once you see somebody scoring really efficient efficiently,
they're probably getting to the line a lot and we're
(50:45):
seeing some of the best offense.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Of course, we.
Speaker 1 (50:47):
Say this every year as the season starts that we've
ever seen in the NBA, twenty seven teams are committing
more fouls than the league leader last year.
Speaker 4 (50:57):
Yeah, yeah, that's like ninety yeah, so the last year
in the bottom it would be twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (51:06):
This year, damn, that's insane. Ten teams are averaging thirty
free throws a game.
Speaker 5 (51:13):
I'll tell you why.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
Last year zero teams did well.
Speaker 5 (51:16):
They they You gotta understand this. Every year, the reference
we have a referees meeting. Yeah, the refs will come
into your training camp and have an emphasis on certain
type of things, We're not gonna give up this year.
And they do it every year. So at the beginning
of the year they always calling it type. Every single
year they call it type. So it must have been
(51:36):
a new emphasis on, like all right, guys, they're gonna
come in and say we're not gonna allow this. And
and I think that's my theory on why there's more
foules called this early and more teams come in making
free throws, more free throws than they have before, so
I know, and it's early too, so it's a small
sample size. Sure, So they set the tone at the
(51:57):
beginning of the year, and then you know, they'll they'll
give you some rope as the season go along, because
we don't want to see teams shooting thirty plus free throws,
we want the action to keep coming.
Speaker 4 (52:07):
I don't think it's fully on the referees. I think
it's a defensive discipline issue. Wow, I think it's a
fifty to fifty I don't know if y'all seen the
Sacramento versus Lakers game when he shot twenty two free throws,
but he got them so many times with the same thing,
fake jump. And I'm a defensive guy, so like, I
want to see less free throws. I want to seeless foules.
Speaker 3 (52:27):
You know.
Speaker 4 (52:27):
I don't like when guys manipulate the game and jump
sideways or jump backwards. But if a guy's gonna get
your hand in the cookie jarvy time, or you're gonna
jump for every pumpine, I think it's a I think
it's a combination of both. I think the referees are
calling it tight and a lack of discipline. I just
don't want it to get to the point where we're
seeing a bunch of free throws all the time and
viewership goes down.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
I think that was one of the.
Speaker 4 (52:46):
Reasons why last year people are tied of seeing at
the free throw or somebody at the free throw line,
stop in play, slowing.
Speaker 3 (52:53):
The game down, reviews.
Speaker 4 (52:55):
I'm like, I don't want to see three minute five
minute reviews and replay like let the game. And that's
one thing I thought that could be a possible change
we take from the G League. You know that one
for two up until last two minutes of the game
with the free throws is quick, so you're going to
say there for two. But again, I think it's a
combination of this, like the lack of discipline on defense,
(53:15):
and the referee is also calling it tight.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
But I got a little I'll put my conspiracy had
on real quick. I think this is related to the
load management thing.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
I think it's early in the season.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
Eventually Adam is going to make the call like bro
let him play a little bit more. But you probably
just don't want an extremely physical product for eighty two
games like that might lead to more.
Speaker 2 (53:41):
They probably think it leads to me, I want to
see basket or all of that.
Speaker 3 (53:45):
I want to see you get hit. Yeah, for sure,
it's a physical game, but.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
I'm going to assume that's kind of what's happening there.
Just like we don't need we don't need to we
can call it tight early on. We don't need to
ultra physicality all season.
Speaker 4 (54:01):
Well, that's why they do the flagrant fouls for everything,
Like they review every foul now for to see if
it's bro just call it play.
Speaker 1 (54:10):
Bro five minute reviews and go to commercial to come back.
The announcers don't even know how to kill time.
Speaker 2 (54:17):
It's it's terrible.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
I want to get this is to just move on
to something different from this. Uh again, also kind of
related to physicality with the game, Miles Turner says, it's
former Indiana Pacers teammate Tyree's Halliburton.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
Notorious ship talker in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
But this is what Miles Turner had to say about
Halliburton ship talking quote. Halliburton knows he's protected, he has
back up on the court, but he wouldn't talk that
same ship.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
In the middle of the street.
Speaker 3 (54:55):
That's kind of crazy.
Speaker 6 (54:56):
Damn you just three months ago you just to drop
this flag. Dropped this flag.
Speaker 4 (55:07):
We don't know how you said it. It could have
been in a playful manner.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
I don't give a damn bro. We was just in
the finals four months ago. Why are you racked dragging
me through the money. But it's all good because we're
gonna see you, so it's all good. That's why I
like this because it's you and our conference, like we're
gonna see you, so so good.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
But he's out.
Speaker 3 (55:31):
Smoke between India and Milwaukee.
Speaker 4 (55:33):
But I think the topic is more speaking of who
in the NBA today is willing to stand on business
in the streets.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
For me, Beef stew is number one on the list
because to me, because like the level of psycho you
gotta be to be willing to kill Lebron James, like
you really not.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
He was really excited he's in.
Speaker 2 (55:58):
He's a net like bro. Like we talked about Lebron
James for sure. He was like, I'll kill this man
in broad daylight.
Speaker 5 (56:04):
Damn.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
I'm trying to think of who's still left in the league.
That's that's about it.
Speaker 4 (56:08):
You know, like Jimmy is still there, Draymond is still
in there, James Johnson not.
Speaker 5 (56:13):
There no more, Dre is standing on business.
Speaker 3 (56:16):
Yeah, I'm thinking of like who.
Speaker 2 (56:18):
Who else your kitchen in the street fight? You got
guys brothers, Like he's been getting beat up his whole life.
Speaker 4 (56:25):
The Morris Twins ain't around no more. I'm trying to think, like, well,
still around. That's like going through the team standing on business,
John stand on business around.
Speaker 3 (56:42):
Might be on.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
That other type of time.
Speaker 5 (56:51):
You said the street, We did say the street.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
The people that come to mind, like I think low key.
I think Josh Hart will fight anybody.
Speaker 4 (57:03):
Maybe so he's a tough kid. You gotta go with
some of the guys that you think are missing marbles.
I'm trying to think of, like who might not be
all like, might not be all there?
Speaker 3 (57:13):
That's a little that's.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
A crazy to like, who's seven thirty?
Speaker 3 (57:19):
Yeah, that is think of the defensive, like I said, Pat.
Speaker 5 (57:22):
But likes Westbrook is.
Speaker 3 (57:24):
Definitely rustling business.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
He's gonna fight. Uh, Debo is gonna fight.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
We're gonna fight.
Speaker 1 (57:31):
But it's really not a lot of these guys, man,
I just assume.
Speaker 4 (57:36):
That the Eastern Jimmy and Jimmy. You gotta think of,
like the villains. Who else is the villain out there?
Speaker 2 (57:41):
Brandon Ingram Ingram He's ready.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
Now the Toronto team, I think they all said. I
think Scotty Barnes.
Speaker 1 (57:49):
Scottis is on Goro smokes trying to smoke.
Speaker 4 (57:54):
I'm trying to think who else, you know, the Thompson Twins,
they you know, said.
Speaker 3 (57:58):
Oh yeah, yeah, one of them trying to go out
of here.
Speaker 5 (58:01):
Like I said that, they're definitely in the smoke shop.
Speaker 1 (58:04):
Yeah, they definitely definitely copping a lot of co's.
Speaker 3 (58:07):
A couple of WANs out there we got.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
But it's not the Oakley's and the mazing the Davis
boys like.
Speaker 5 (58:15):
No more forcers, no last enforcer.
Speaker 2 (58:20):
Literally, but according to Miles Turner, he's in the forcer.
Speaker 5 (58:23):
He wore he was for alas a podcasts and Twitter beef.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
That's what it is.
Speaker 1 (58:32):
Yeah, you knows there's not enough aspect and going on
anymore to get the Gilbert areenas you know type of
fights going. These guys make too much money to aspect,
so not enough fights.
Speaker 2 (58:45):
All right, guys.
Speaker 1 (58:47):
We wanted to end off the show because we got
into it just a little bit last episode about who
we thought was some of the best.
Speaker 3 (58:55):
Top five this is gonna be crazy.
Speaker 2 (58:57):
I wanted this to be even more difficult the top
three players.
Speaker 5 (59:00):
It is gonna be difficult in the league right now
because just just to get a little spicy, who the
three the three best NBA players right now? The three
best NBA players right now, no debate, joke is just
in there. Yeah, I'm gonna go with Winbin Yama. He's
already in the top three, already in the top three.
(59:21):
I don't care what nobody says. Nobody can tell me nothing,
because yes, he's one of the top three players in
the world right now today his third year. And then
I'm gonna go, Man, this is a tough one right here, Oh,
the number three, because damn, I gotta give it to
Shay because he's just coming off an MVP of the
(59:41):
of the MVP of the league. I mean, that's too much.
I mean, I'm leaving certain guys out, but I.
Speaker 4 (59:49):
Can't how crazy it is to leave one of these
guys out when you say it, because Giannis right now
is in there for me.
Speaker 5 (59:57):
Yeah, he's dominating.
Speaker 4 (59:58):
He's double he's double one, be in Shay's buckets at
the rim, Dawnson layups. He's got fifty today, twenty five.
I think he's he's playing the m v P cowboy.
But who do you leave out? Like Wemby's the offensive
and defensive player, like a defense Player of the Year,
and he's scoring thirty, So who who's so like?
Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
Am I leaving?
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
If I put s g a Wemby and oh he's
leading the league in triple doubles to start the season.
Speaker 5 (01:00:23):
This guys, oh, that's no Luca donk.
Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
That's another guy with leaving it. But Luca's out right now.
But again we so realistically s G A. Yokic for sure,
and it's between Wemby and Yannis and it's like, but
I want both of them in the top, Like, so
I leave a s G.
Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
A is I'm never leaving out the m v P.
I'm never leaving out the m v P.
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
Ever, I'm gonna go out of your three best players
in the NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
Crazy thing.
Speaker 4 (01:00:50):
I picked him to get MVP this year too. It's
to start the season right now, I'm gonna go s
G A, Wemby and Giannis. That may change because right
now still get triple doubles, but his numbers are down
right now from last year.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Yeah, I'm I'm gonna get off my long type of dude.
So my top three is is Shay it's joker of course,
of course, and Wemby's not. He's joy when you averaging
like pay your dues.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
He's averaging thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:01:24):
He's killing team, he's killing who did you start?
Speaker 5 (01:01:28):
So unanimous.
Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
Yeah, Shaye Joker.
Speaker 4 (01:01:31):
Because of what he's doing last and the six and
oh and he's.
Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
Hash had Sha.
Speaker 5 (01:01:36):
You didn't have Joker.
Speaker 4 (01:01:37):
I have had Wemby and Giannis because I had them
on both stated playing better defense.
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
Didn't I said, just to start the season right now.
Speaker 5 (01:01:44):
So the only unanimous one out of all three of
us is Shay and Wemby. Okays, the only unanimous.
Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
This is gonna become a theme like I always hate
on young guys, like they got to prove it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
First again, not my top ten. I had Wemby a
little bit further down like the list. I didn't think
he took six months off. I didn't think he started
off this week.
Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
It's truly remarkable.
Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
And I had Cad higher. I had Polo higher, like
I thought they would come out and be better. Not
but they were my top ten.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
But I had after the sort of the time off.
Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
Cad was damned the m v P, like in the
voting at one point last year Detroit was not in
the playoffs. The report and then being the top like
six with the six seeds last year got you damn
like Cad was doing.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Any don't think the five time m v P Yo,
Kitsches is one of the best guys.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
There the start, it's going to change.
Speaker 4 (01:02:59):
This is just the ladder to start the season. Power
