Speaker 1 (00:25):
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the Ladist edition of
No Fouls Given, presented by Prize Picks.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Of course, I'm your co host Pig.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Wise A, Kase Lambree, and I'm joined as always by
my guys, Danny Green, Paul Pierce. We got a super
dope show. Let's get right into it. We're gonna start
today with some fan questions.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Man, we haven't done.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Some fan questions questions.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
So.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
I want to get into my first My first question,
my guy, Henry Jones shoutsta, Henry big l a Native.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
This is directed to Paul Pierce. Do you regret ever
not playing in l A for the Lakers? Is that
a regret of yours?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Paul?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
When it was all said and done.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
As a as an l a Inglewood Native.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Road, it was a Celtic Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
But I'm trying to think, like when you regret something
meaning like you had the opportunity.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
You know what I'm saying, you never came about. No,
that never came about.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
So it's not something you wake up at night or
you watch it like damn when you.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Watch your career, like damn, I could have I never
played for the Lakers.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
I didn't I mean I grew up a Laker fan.
I grew up obviously down the street from the Forum Staples.
I wanted to be a Laker, for sure. That's a dream.
Of course a kid grew up here watching championships. But
no regret about it is not the opportunity never presented itself.
So how can I regret when you don't have the
opportunity present in front of you, You know, regret it's
(02:06):
like something like it's right there and I didn't take
advantage of.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
So I don't I mean in that tracks because every
single chance he gets to take pot shots at the Lakers,
he definite.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Chance.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
I mean, I don't think I would want to play it.
Think it's like a gift and the curse playing at home.
I think it would be a lot. So that's one
of the reasons why I never really.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Did you ever have an opportunity to play for the
nets of the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
The next reached out briefly, but my my free agency
went so quick. It was when Derek Fisher was the
coach way back when.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
I think fifteen.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Yeah, when I signed back to San Antonio, it reached out,
but it wasn't like heavy. But I already had my
deal had been done, you.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Got an extension and all of that. You were free agent.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
We talked it that first day we did it.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
You think you could have got more money out of
the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
I don't know. Twenty fifth possibly I could have not
at the next but I probably could have got more
money elsewhere because the deal that I took was considered
a cut. When I went back to San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
It was considered below market for you.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Yeah, it was considered a cut.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
And why did Why were you so gunga go about
staying with San Antonio.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
I thought we could win still like more and I
was in Texas. I know I was getting more to
the coin there. Didn't want to change much, and I
like playing with.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
So that no state taxes thing is a real thing
in terms of is it determined for guys some terms
of signing with Texas teams or a Florida team who
also has no state income tax.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
It comes into play when you look at the contracts
of what it's going to be.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
So your agent presents it to you like this is
your take home here, and this is your take home.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
I don't think they do, but you if you've been
a league you know enough, you know what cities, and
then you ask him. Then he might present it to you, like, hey,
if you're thinking about it, you actually if you're just
looking at the money, most guys will look at you want.
You want to get all three things if you can.
Most times you don't. You get two out of three.
You want the money that you want, the city you
want to play in.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
And the winning team usually can get.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
If you're really good off the free agency, you can
get two of them. I've been fortunate enough to get
like two or all three some of those places in
some of those instances. But yeah, so I was already outside.
I like playing with tips, Like Timmy was one of
the selling points, and he was like, yo, they thought
they were gonna lose me. He's like, you promised to
come back, and I was like, I don't know, man,
(04:28):
but I know I wasn't if they can come close
to what I was like, yeah, we're good. And so
this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. It
is the holiday season, best time of year for sports,
bowl games, basketball matchups, playoff pushes. It's all happening at once,
and while you and I are out here making decisions
every day, what gifts to buy, what to eat, which
game to watch? There's one place where it feels good
(04:50):
to be right. Prize Picks. Baby.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
I love how simple it is to play and win
on Prize Picks. Jalen Brunson, Steph Curry, Tyrese MAXI, more threes,
more cist.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
These guys are hooping.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
I love that you can also create a lineup and
mix and match sports.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
If I'm feeling a little.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
Spicy, I will ask some football picks to the lineup
as well. Love sprinkling in a little pooka the cool
action with my hoopers.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Prize Picks now has early payouts. If your lineup gets
off to a hot start, you may now have the
option to cash out those winnings before the game even finishes.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Prize Picks is simple to play. Just pick more or
less on at least two player stats. If you get
your picks right, you could cash in.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
Download the Prize Picks at Today and use code NFG
and get fifty dollars in lineups after you play your
first five dollars lineup. That's code NFG to get fifty
dollars in lineups after you play your first five dollars
lineup prize picks.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
It's good to be right.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
All right.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
We got another question from Macha Macha Doe was here. Hoh,
I'm saying that right. His question is for everybody on
the panel, who are your top five what if players
to ever hoop.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
In the league, to ever hoop in the league or Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Basically it's like, damn, what if?
Speaker 4 (06:09):
To me? What if that who was the best player
never heard of? Is what he asked to me. It's
like somebody that never made the league because most people
or at least heard of that person's name. And I'd
have to go back to like my college what if players?
Speaker 1 (06:23):
I like, what if that played in the league, meaning
like what if this didn't happen?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
That mean like for me Grand Hill.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Yes, yes, I'm looking at a different question.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
By bad he would have been like on the same
level as Jordan. A lot of people say facts he
was the one that.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, what if they didn't get hurt
Derrek Rose there's another what if he doesn't have all
those surgeries? Youngest MVP in the league could have came
out of the East many years.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Those three for me, I'm gonna I'm gonna go oh
he said five though.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
With Derek Rose, I'm gonna go with Yao.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Wow, I feel like it was what if? For sure.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
I feel like gren Hill for sure is one of them.
What was the team? Mac get like some.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Teammate definitely ran into injuries at a certain point.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
I must say Brendan Roy. Yes, I was a fan
of Brennan.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Roy, big, big, what if?
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Crazy enough? This is gonna sound crazy, but like this
dude was a beast high school and college like Greg Golden.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Yeah, Greg Golden, I mean what happened to him? Like
he had.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
A lot of.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Injuries and he I mean I thought he was just
gonna obviously be a dominant player.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
And then also the kid who had the heart issues
Isaiah you know I'm talking about from Baylor. Yeah, his
name Isaiah. He has a heart. He had a hard issue.
They let him play because he had the hardestue. I
mean Chris Bosh was the blood Yeah, the kid, I.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Mean Chris Posh ended up playing anyway.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
Kawhi, you know, what's what if?
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Austin?
Speaker 2 (08:15):
What if? For me that's not injury related?
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Is what happened with Marbury in Minnesota?
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yes, because the lockout happens.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Minnesota had already told him they were going to cash
him out, basically give him a contract that was comparable
to kg's, and then the league implements the max salaries
for the first time.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
So the most he could make I think it's like
eighty something million.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
And he's like, well, fuck it, if I could make
eighty something million here and make it anywhere. And I
think what he said was like his ego would not
allow him to be in Minnesota making that much less
than KG because he looked at KG as a peer,
and so he forced the trade left. And I do
wonder what would have happened if they would have just
(09:04):
stayed and developed that chemistry, you know what I'm saying, Like,
think about what that sets off if Barberry just at
such a young He's still a young ass player, and
they had already shown that they had a great chemistry,
and like, you know, he's the point guard, Kg's the
big and like, man, I wish that I wish, I
(09:27):
wish we would have got to see him play more
and developed more, because I do think what ended up
happening the Steph is just not being with KG in
and around this like maniacal winning influence kind of affected
the rest of his career to me to where he
just never played on real teams his whole career, after
(09:48):
the whole career, and I always, you know, just as
a New York God, Brooklyn g I always thought Steph
was amazing.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
So that's one of my.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
What ifsh situations. I have a what if situation?
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yeah, let's do that.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
What if Kawhi doesn't get hurt and uh West the
Western Comms Finals when we played them, one of those oh.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
You're talking about when when he fell on.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Yeah, that's a what if moment.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
We're kicking their asses.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Playing pretty well.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
I mean it was Game one. Wasn't like the.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Clothes out come on you're saying it was like an
Irons versus the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
I mean yeah, I mean I don't.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
I mean, we can say that they was whooping them,
but it was only like I gounderstand, it was like
a five or six, Like what if Perkins don't tear
his a c L And you know, we lost Game
seven twenty ten. We need somebody to rough up Gasol.
It's not those you know, I was Game one, Danny, it.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
Is, But what if it's a different series? Kat just
got to go stay year they won seventy three. No,
it was the year after that, Katie's first year there.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Oh with KT there oh yeah, oh yeah, yall would
have lost in five.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Five that's crazy, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
They would have got It would have been five.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
We beat them at their plate game. One was at
their place, Yeah, at their place. You don't think we
win one or two at our home?
Speaker 3 (11:14):
No?
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Yeah, home cooking, bro, No, you know home cooking in
the world is over there, Bro. I would have lost
my hardest place, one of the hardest places to play
in bro.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Amazing, great crowd, all of that warriors and five.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
That's crazy. That's crazy, that's crazy crazy.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
KD had never won a ring yet, that hadn't become
chan with Steve Current.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
They think they did with seventy three, we won sixty.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Seven, That's what I'm saying. That's the same year seven.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
No, no, no, well, well they didn't win. They didn't
win seventy three with KD.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
No, No, no, no, seventy three was the year before. Okay,
y'all won sixty something too. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Yeah, k wasn't there, credible, but y'all would have been
y'all would have y'all would have took them to five
the year before.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah, toll five is crazy TV trolling. Man.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
I like this question. I like this question by Liam h. Fitz.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
That's the one I was reading.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
Who's the best player you know that nobody's ever heard of?
Speaker 5 (12:24):
That was the question I was talking about the best
player that I know that I have.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
I'd have to go back to college.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Know that they're tough players, but they just didn't make
it in the league.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
So somebody the best player ever playing as high school
or college or you played with the high school college
basically that never made it to the league, that never
been on the NBA roster.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Somebody.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Yeah, there's plenty of There's a lot of Carolina guys
that I thought was super like tough that should have
been the NBA, probably just in a different era.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
But nobody heard of me because I heard of them.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
You need the general basketball, Like if you asked your
average fan consumes a lot of basketball, a lot of
college and NBA, they might not this.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
My person might not jog their memory.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
You heard of Rayshawn Terry, No, I've heard Terry went
to Carolina. Yeah, he played, he was he was six eight,
non jump thirty forty thirty six thirty eight forty inches
in the air with you guys. He was two years
older than me, and yeah, ray Terry was wanted the
I had to play against him every day in practice.
(13:29):
You know, he bust my eyes every day in practice, bro,
And it's like, you know what happened to him?
Speaker 3 (13:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
I think it was like, you know, back in those times,
if you were a tweener, he was a tweener. You
know what I'm saying, Like there's no tweener anymore because
small ball, like he was just like certain guys are
just in the wrong era.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
And he was a he was a wing kind of Yeah,
he was a three. I have no memory of three
four And I was definitely watching a lot of college
memory on him either.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
No, he was that Danny Green. I just yeah, bro,
a little squeaker, real quick speaker. Yeah, but nah, he's
one of that. Come. There's a couple other guys that
said that went to Carolina that didn't make it play
the NBA roster. I was like, yo, deserving, but he
was the guy that had to play against every day
in practice. David Noelle another guy shout out to him.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
David Nobell never even made a team.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
I think he played a year two. He played a
year too, he was I think he did a year
two in Milwaukee.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Summer League at the very Jawad.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Another one played a couple of years, and then you
had great overseas Deon Thompson another guy that played overseas
for a long time.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
These guys you think would have should have.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Ray Shon Terry, for sure, I thought was. I just
think said certain guys were just in the wrong era,
Like if he was playing in today's leaguehere, it's like small,
but he would thrive in today, Like they weren't sure
if he's a three or four and he didn't get
the opportunity. I think it was more mental with him
than anything else. But uh, yeah, some guys just don't
get the opportunity.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
Or is there anybody at Kansas or in high school
high school that you were like.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Man, this guy is incredible and it just didn't work
out for him.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
There was a bunch of high school guys out.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
Yeah, there's two of them that come to mind, Southern California,
Shae Cotton, uh and Ricky Price.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Ricky Price was he your class?
Speaker 5 (15:12):
I heard Rickey Price was a class above me. He
was a McDonald's All American too. Okay, he said he
went to Duke. Yeah, you don't think so he went
to Duke with Trajan Langdon Wow.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:27):
And they were saying when he came out, he was
like they were saying, his offensive game was ready for
the league in high school, Like he could dunk either
hand offense going thirty.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
And it's just man, there's always some guy like the
top guy, Like remember came out. You know who was
his rivalry was? Like his rival person was what's his
name from Movieville, you know, Darius Washington. He went to Memphis. Sorry,
he missed a couple of free throws. I think it
was in a tournament and then he played with I
think anybody heard from again since then.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
But he is always he was nice.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
My class, we had a.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Pretty class Washington.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
We was the last class that you can go Rose.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Memphis Old right before d got over there. But the
coach cal brought him to Memphis.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
He was part of that. Like coach co was just
getting everybody over.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
And yeah, he was like if Sebastian was the number
one point guard, he was the number two.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah, he was like damn and then you know, like
you all of that. They were like they were like
going at each other.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
It's kind of like Greg Olden Derek character during that time.
I don't remember that.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
I remember Derek.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Who else like Will Lou Will and Mante had a
thing in high school? Like my it was like, yeah,
that's a good battle. It was the two. So my
class was the last class could go be able to
jump to the league from high school, like Andrew by
him and them, Jerald Green five wow?
Speaker 2 (16:49):
And Dwhight Howard is that year he's.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Older or he's four?
Speaker 4 (16:53):
It was Jerald Green, Josh mc roberts, Andrew bying them.
Who else was in that class that went c? J.
Miles was in our class? Martel Webster?
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Did he go to you dub?
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (17:07):
He went Martel Webster?
Speaker 4 (17:09):
He went straight?
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Did he go straight out of high school?
Speaker 4 (17:11):
He was supposed to Carolina okay, and we'll get to
Seattle scholarship before he could commit, and then he just
went straight. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Were you McDonald's all American?
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (17:21):
I snuck in there.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
I love that. Who was in that Who was in
that game?
Speaker 4 (17:31):
I'm trying to think who else might have been.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Two thousand and five McDonald's on American Rots the list.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
I know we had the best team ever. I know
that for sure.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
Yeah, our class ours was the best class every.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
So lou Willville, Josh McRoberts, Richard Hendrix, Eric Devendor, Stop
saying names that we don't know. Tain Mitchell was another guy.
He was like Mitchell, who is the guy you?
Speaker 5 (18:00):
Alright, we know lou will Gerald Green, we know buying
them and the buck stops there.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Keep going west.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
And large.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Then we go here we know Luke Zeller.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
I don't know who that is, right, jul Yeah, I
know Julian right, Johnson, c J. Miles, Okay, here Johnson,
Tyler Mario and there we go Bobby Fraser. No no, no, no,
no no no no no no no no no.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Did you against Bobby Fraser in high school?
Speaker 3 (18:45):
All right, let's go to mickey these ninety five.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Five is Shariff, Vince Carter and Jameson Stephan God, sham god,
that's pretty good. Chauncey Billups, Kevin Garnet.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
Wow, Paul Robert Traylor, robber trailer Lottery.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
That's it's alid.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
That's a pretty good class we got.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
We got.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Let's see a lot of all stars yeh damn.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yeah, I mean, oh we crushed them.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
I mean yeah, I don't think that's that's.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Uh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
We got They got a hello fucking NBA guy like
we had. Some guys had a decent stint, not crazy,
but I forgot about like a mirror was in our class.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
And KG robbed me of m v P.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
How do you do that?
Speaker 5 (19:42):
I mean he was, he was, he was pretty good.
Oh he was just killing I mean I was.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
They played seriously. I came off the bench, though, and
they gave himup the probably gain the ball every time.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Hell, I had twenty eight. I think he had like
twenty and ten. Wow.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Man, every year, I swear I'm done stressing over holiday
A game, you want something personal, but not like too personal.
Nobody wants another random candle or sweater. They ain't even
gonna wear.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
Facts And it's got to hit the sweet spot. And
that's why all frames is clutch. This is the easiest
win of the holiday season. No scouting report needed.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Listen or frames.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
That's a cheat code if I've ever seen one. You
give somebody one of these digital frames, you're basically gifting
them all the best moments of their life.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
How you gonna top.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
That and look thing that makes it so simple. You
get unlimited free photos and videos. Just hop on the
Aura app, connect to Wi Fi Boom, your whole camera
roll goes straight to the frame.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Plus, this might be my favorite part. You can preload
the photos before it even shifts, so the person you're
gifting opens the box, plugs it in, and your memories
are already in there. You look thoughtful without even trying. Wife,
You're gonna love this one. Fill up the frames with
photos of our kids. What can be better?
Speaker 2 (21:01):
I love that?
Speaker 1 (21:02):
And you can add a little message before it arrives
too real sentimental if you want to go that route
or petty, I'm just saying options exit nah.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
My wife peop wanting to appreciate the petty route.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
Gift box included to Premium clean, no price tag. You
hand us over at a holiday party, you're automatically the
MVP gift giver.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
So stop playing. Don't wait when the holidays right now

(24:43):
Austin Reeves a really good role player?
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Is he a superstar in the making?
Speaker 4 (24:48):
I want to ask you. I mean, it's the last
conversation we had. You made see him like.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
I don't think he's a superstar, But I think Austin Reeves,
if he, if his season continues even close to what
it is right now, he's somebody that you should look at.
Is I should be able to depend on you in
the playoffs to get buckets against any defense, against any configuration.
We should be able to count on you to score
(25:12):
efficient for efficient offense.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
He's an All Star? Yes, well, okay, so yes he's
So he's not a role player, no question.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Was the first star?
Speaker 4 (25:21):
No? Was he a role player last year?
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:25):
He's a player.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
Now what was his role?
Speaker 2 (25:28):
His role? Secondary?
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Offensive initiation meaning like play point guard, initiate offense, pick
and roll at the top of the key, find guys
just like Luca does.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Secondary third, So he was just a point guard open shots.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Is he a top five two guard in the league
right now?
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Is he better than top five and scoring? I don't know.
If he's I don't know. Is he better than Booker opinions? Opinion?
I think I think this is This is the one
you ask I'm taking book Who.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Are you taking Austin Reeves or John?
Speaker 2 (26:03):
I'm probably saying J. J. Doub Is. He's such a
great defensive player, I'm taking J. Dubb.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
He's bigger, he's like a scottis like.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
He's probably not as good a one on one threat
as Austin.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
But he's close enough.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
He's not as good offensively, but just.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Give him the ball and get out the way.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
I don't think he's as good as Asin Reeves, but
he's close and defensively.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Obviously, it's no contest. He's a plus defender, where Austin
is a liability. He's not even like decent.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Well, this is why we disagree, because I didn't think
Austin was a role player last year at all.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
You thought he was a star player.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
He was one of their main focal points. He's his
bro was to get buckets. He was a focal point.
So I guess Minnesota and you said they didn't rely
on they.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Was to score.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
How much would the Lakers have to pay him last
offseason after the playoffs? You think he's getting forty million
from the Lakers after that playoffs.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Yes, no, he's not.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Not after the playoffs, But after that season he's not.
So because he has the season.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
The playoffs is part of the season.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
So so James harn gets maxed.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
What even James Harden in his worst playoff performances in Houston,
whatever his output was for that season.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, it's max. It's not even a question.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Yeah it's not.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
But as I'm telling you, if he his free.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Agency, I'm just saying, because you have one bad playoffs,
you don't get paid that. That doesn't that doesn't make sense.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
I'm not saying you have one bad playoffs. I'm just
saying there was a series he hasn't given.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
He hasn't given enough proven insistency over time, But don't
have been there.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
For a year, averages twenty seven all year, and he
goes into the playoffs and averages twenty three or twenty four.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
He's getting paid.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Yeah, he getting paid.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
He's gonna get paid.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
I'm saying he's getting paid regardless. I don't know, because
who you're gonna replace. Like, he's done enough for the
regular season. He's showing like he even has a bad
playoffs they losing the first round, has a bad playoff series.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
You think he's I think so over Bank.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Yeah, I mean I'm little bias.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
I like that game comparable.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
I'm taking pretty terrible players too. Yeah, I'm taking I'm
taking off. I think he's he gets the freaque line.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
More can He's a better distributor. You can create better handle.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
You can create more. He's just like you can. Actually
if he's not scoring, he actually do.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Ban is a better defender, but Bank's not like a
good defender like Jacob is a fucking dom.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
So again, so you don't think that he if he
has a bad playoffs this year that he wouldn't get.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Paid depends on how bad.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
If he's sixteen eighteen like he did last year.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
He's not He's not getting forty something.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
He's still getting the forty ball.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
If he has the season, because somebody will give, he's
gonna get paid.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
Bro, somebody will give.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
You have a sixteen in the playoffs in the first
round series, your team gets smoked.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
They did last year, He's gonna get paid again. He averaged,
he had a great regular season. He can have another
great regular season.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
The Lakers make it to the second round, he's gonna
get paid. If the Lakers lose in the first round again.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
He gonna get paid.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
He's gonna get paid. It doesn't matter what happens. If
he has a great season, he's getting paid because he
has shown that he can carry a team when Lucas out,
when bron is out to win regular season games, those matter.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
Yeah, that matters.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
I guess he's not a role player.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
He's not a role player.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
No, I'm not. I don't think all Mus is a
role player anymore.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
I don't think he was last year either.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
I think but this this what he's doing this year
is not comparatible to the way he did last year.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
He was like twenty two, like twenty two.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
This is just twenty twenty two.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Like you're watching him just dominate and get forty.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
One of the main scores. Last year it was them
three the main score. He's the main scorre last year
and give him twenty. I think it was twenty two.
But I could be off. Maybe maybe not. I don't know,
but I don't his role last year this year then
last year. He's getting to the free line mark. Yeah,
but he I think he scored quite a bit last year.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Bro, come on, that's a that's a forty increase in scoring.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
To twenty SI. Yeah, we haven't twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
He's gotten better every year.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Though he has gotten better every year. Yes, again it's
still early. We don't know if he can ever twenty
for the whole season.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Damn even to as twenty eight and twenty eight twenty games.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Yeah, but again, if you said wow, it is not
saying regardless. I'm not trying to take anything away from him.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
He's putting up Jordan. But again, would you would you
say he was five and Brian.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
And Luca played every game? Would you say, until you
average twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
No, he wouldn't age twenty eight, but I think his
efficiency would still be there.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Yeah, he's gotten better every year.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
To me, it's like getting to the line making all
your threes, like and distributing.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
You know what I'm saying, Like, I think he's having
every year.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
He's doing career highs in almost every category.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
He's not a superstar, but he's I mean, he's a star.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
He's an all star, He's a star.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
He's Tony Parker, He's a Tony was a little more
than No.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Tony was a superstar.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Yeah, Tony was a superstar.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Tony.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Tony was phenomenal.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
Tony was an MVP conversation.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
At one point you couldnot stop him in the paint.
His floater was unreal conversations. He got two finals mv
let all point Guards. Points in the Pain were All
Star teams.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Though at that time his superstar superstars.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Can only make four All star teams.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
You could make one All star team be a superstar.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
I don't come on, bro, one time all star and
you're a superstar.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Yeah, J is a superstar.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
J J is a superstar. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
Four is a good amount of All Star.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Bro, he's a great all right? All right to me?
Speaker 3 (31:44):
This all right? Is Murray a superstar?
Speaker 2 (31:48):
No?
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Kahi? How many?
Speaker 5 (31:51):
Also Leonard fro come on, come on.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Why is a superstar?
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Ship?
Speaker 1 (32:00):
How many superhero? Also? At what point? People, So it's
the best player in the NBA. That's never happened to Tony.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
So again he's got He's gonna have a bun his
six his six All Stars.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Bro, that's just injury ship, like basically.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
From still I had to counts though, bro, twenty fourteen
to twenty twenty a superstar.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
I think he had superstar.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
I think superstar.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
I think he was a superstar. I think he was
a superstar. I don no, no, no, look that.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Threw him right there. Yeah was a superstar. He was
a superstar.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
He's a little bit different because come on, his best
was just doing.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Just more than two, and I think he had less.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Like he's getting to the rack, he's making threes. He's
like an incredible distributor.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
All Stars and Tony does he not? He has like
two right?
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Two? Three?
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Yeah, I'm just saying I'm talking about Genobi has very best.
I think it's like, yeah, that was like he was
close to a superstar at his very best, But I
don't think he had a superstar career.
Speaker 4 (32:59):
Yeah, a superstar career, yes, yes? Or Tony for sure
that you had a superstar career. Yes, Bro, there's no
hands down. Bro, you kidding his finals.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
He's unfortunate when you you become a superstar based on
your playoffs. First off, Okay, that's how I feel. Superstars
are born in the playoffs, and Genobili was a superstar,
like seriously, like seriously, But.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
You questioned Tony's crazy because Tony's resume. I love Tony
and Trump's his.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
No, his his resume, But I don't think Tony at
his best is better than Geno at his best.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
I think Genobili at his peak.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Tony has a top seveing.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
He should have been a longer peak than many.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
But Manu, he's a six time all you said four,
he's six time. Also, he's sam a mount of Kawhi.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
What are you talking? Bro? Bro?
Speaker 4 (33:53):
What are you talking about? His resume is crazy? You
should have been top seventy five.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
I just realized we're doing the Spurs thing right now,
and I don't know how I fell into this trap.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
But so so you think you're disagreeing that he I
don't know, Like when I think of or not if
he was if he was a fucking jazz he had
Utah jazz and he had this lineup, you wouldn't think
that he's this is a super This is a really
good resume.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
I don't know, Like when I think about the Spurs,
I think the superstar from Tony's rors.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Tim first to win, you know what I mean, You can't,
You definitely can't.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
David was a superstar for sure.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
It's just when I think about the Spurs, I just
think about Tim, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (34:39):
For sure?
Speaker 1 (34:39):
But Mono superstar, that's the guy that's making everything happen.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
I think of Dave Robinson and then I think of
Tony and Mono after like they were all superstars when
they came, like they all together with superstars or they
ran the show Pinks.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
These guys are superstar, I do. I'm just wrong about Tony.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
I mean they had a big three. They had a
big three.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
No, no, no, no, I mean the success and the success speaks
for itself, like.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
The you gotta win and you're winning and you're playing well,
that that goes you know, for sure, And the playoff success.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
I'm just I'm just too Timmy Peel.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
I think you're going based off like the style of
play to you. I think tony style of play was
not like no, it's it is like it didn't.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
I was talking about the cold efficiency of Jordan. That's
what I think of Tony Parker. No wasted motion, no
like this, like no, I'm getting right by this as
soon as I.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
Get the ball right right to the action, right to
the floatering down, floater, you up.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
He led the league in paint, scoring crazy.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
From guard on the guard, and he let all guards
all time.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
I guess I just yeah, I guess I just need
to look at him as a superstar.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Yeah, I think I think it's more of like you're
not seeing his aura, like because he was in the
market and he's.
Speaker 6 (35:59):
Just again you could be because you know why, you
know why you guys are proving me wrong, because like
I absolutely think Tony Parker is a better play than
Russell Westbrook.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
But in my minds, I I think of Russell Westbrook
as a superstar, you know what I mean, all of
the accolades and all of this and the triple doubles,
But like I would never say he's better than Tony Parker.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Ever, I think it's a picker.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
You know, I would never say that, So like, yeah,
you guys are right. I was wrong. Tony Parker is
a superstar, shouts to him.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Do you think you'll see an NBA team in Vegas
or Clippers win a championship? What will happen?
Speaker 5 (36:40):
First, Clippers aren't winning this year or the next because
I don't think they have the infrastructure to get better,
and I think Vegas is coming pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Yeah, so there was an I just to bring the
listeners up to speak. There was an idea, a lot
of reporting, and I think it was legitimate that the
NBA was going to expand bring two teams in. Seattle
was the obvious home for one. Vegas was looking like
the front Yeah, it was looking like the front runner
for the next slot. However, it seems like, for whatever reason,
(37:14):
the owners have kind of been lukewarm on the expansion idea.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
And I think it's gonna have to be a team
that moves to Vegas.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
But the first move, to me is obviously going to
be the Seattle That's what I think. I think a
Seattle group will come in or even if it's like,
you know, some sovereign wealth fund, like a Saudi Arabia
or Qatar or.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Dubai United Emirates.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
If one of them come in to buy because they
own a bunch of teams in like European.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Soccer or Mexico City.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
Yeah, if one of them come in with the money,
I could see them being like, look, we're not keeping
a team in New Orleans. There's a big ass market
right there in Seattle. Boom, let's do it. Great fans,
great fan base, they're dying to get their team back.
But I think the Vegas thing is because they're second
behind Seattle, and because it's not gonna be an expansion team.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Now we need two teams to relocate.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
Rather. I prefer expansion more than teams locate. Why so,
I think there's a lot of talent out.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
There, man, more jobs?
Speaker 4 (38:22):
Why not?
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Man?
Speaker 4 (38:23):
You know why? I have more, more teams and more cities.
And it's just weird to me. I didn't realize how
said playing in Memphis, how east it is. But they're
considered what like.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
They move them east?
Speaker 4 (38:35):
Your two teams one in Vegas want to see and
let the teams keep their fan bases, and they you
take one from the Rowlands. Now they got the football team,
but they I think they're deserving a basketball like they
enjoy their.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
New Orleans is in the East.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Should be Yeah, another like I guess Charlotte just got
new ownership. Maybe their ownership is dedicated to stay. That's
another team to.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Me, suspect the city.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
I wouldn't say Memphis, but they support the hell out
of their team.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
They do, but they're still in the East. They should
keep the team there unless you move it to Nashville,
Like you know what I'm saying, move, Yeah, and Memphis
is not great.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
But becoming more corporate.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Ye, but put them east. They have them in the
Western Conference, but they're all the way over.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
But but just just so we get end the segment
on answering the question who's gonna get it? What's gonna
happen for the NBA Championships team?
Speaker 4 (39:41):
Yeah, I think we all.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
And they're not gonna win a championship. They're cursed.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Now let's get right into our very favorite segment of
every single show, and that's the Picks of the Night
presented by Prize Picks. And we got Timberwolves at the
Warriors Friday night Chase Center.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Do we have do we know if Steph Curry is
gonna be back for this?
Speaker 1 (40:06):
No game time decision for Steph, So our picks are
gonna be outside of Steph. Jimmy Buckets more or less
than sixteen and a half points against his old team
in Minnesota, Timberwolves.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
That's the reason why I'm going more. It's an old
team that he left, not with a great on a
great footing, so I think he gets a little more.
He's been out for a little bit too, right or
am I tripping on that? He's played in and out.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
I think he's back to backs, he's been chilling.
Speaker 4 (40:37):
I think he'll take this a little bit more personal
and try to score more, be more aggressive. So I'm
gonna go more.
Speaker 5 (40:41):
What about you, paul Ah? This is a tough one.
Jimmy be up and down around that and this Minnesota,
I'm going to go more.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
So Normally I would go more for the revenge, but
because his nemesis Carl Townsend and there, I don't think
he's gonna be as pissed off. So I'm gonna go
less for Jimmy Buckets. Next next one up, Rudy Gobert
more or less than eight and a half reboundary.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
He better get more than. I mean, Golden State ain't
don't have much rebounding team, and I don't know if
in and out of the lineup, so like he is
the biggest person on the floor, I would hope that
he I'm gonna say more, and I hope that he
gets he would get more.
Speaker 5 (41:29):
I'm gonna go less. Long rebounds are tough on him.
A lot of three is gonna be shot. Uh might
even get his minux decreased because of lineups, So I'll
go less.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
I'm gonna go less to for two reasons. One because
of Horford, because of post. Because the Warriors like to
play five out, Rudy is gonna be drawn out away
from the basket, and Rudy always has the capacity to
get played off of the court.
Speaker 2 (41:58):
So maybe even for minutes Steph plays, he get yeah,
fair for.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
Minutes, he might even not even have the minutes to
do it. Next up, Anthony Everards more or less than
twenty nine and a half.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
I'm gonna go less. Damn, he just had he just
had a thirty, like a thirty ball night. I feel
like he's not gonna have as good of a shooting night.
He was seven from nine from three. Unless he's on
a heater where he's still rided, I don't know. I
think he's gonna be a little more down.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
I'm gonna go more.
Speaker 5 (42:28):
I think, you know, it's starting to get into a rhythm,
like you get around that twenty five game mark, you
start feeling yourself and I'm thinking, uh, forty ball coming off,
forty ball, thirty ball. I think he I think he
gets more. Go to state. This is gonna be a
big game. I gotta win just to keep you know,
that pace in the standings.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
I got more.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
I'm gonna go less because if I know Steve Kerry
gonna be blitzing the hell out of him and being
like somebody else do this, anybody but at and so
it's gonna be on the other guys to step up
more or less than two and a half reads for
Anthony Edwards, more for me more. He's because this is
he's only gonna take threes in this game.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
He's gonna take.
Speaker 4 (43:09):
Take He's gonna take threes. But I think it's have
a cold night. So I'm gonna go less. It's gonna
get two you cann threes for me more for me.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Those are our picks of the night, presented by Prize Picks. Now,
let's get right into foul or No Foul, one of
our favorite segments up here, where you know, basically we
bring up a topic.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
You get the hint. It's pretty simple. Is it foul
or is it not a foul?
Speaker 4 (43:35):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (43:36):
First up, trying to get a triple double rebound off
your own intentional foul.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
I call that the Ricky Davis special.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
They stopped counting now, I think to do it himself.
Try to they didn't, didn't give.
Speaker 5 (43:48):
It where you at, no foul, Just get your triple
dub off the backword, gets your triple dub.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
No foul, I think bush league man.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
Nobody's gonna remember in two days when.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
You look at it.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
Probably not. Probably not when you look at the.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
Start, you had a triple dub.
Speaker 1 (44:09):
But okay, what about this one playing full court press
while up big follow no.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
Foul, no foul.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
I'm gonna say foul. But it all depends on who's
in the game. Now, if it's your third unit and
they're trying to make like make a name for themselves,
get some minutes, show that they're working hard. I'm okay
with that. But if you're a big man, no need
a full court press. I'm gonna call foul.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
To me when you're getting paid.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
There's no such thing as foul on these kind of
type of tips, Like you get paid to this.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
You got your ass kicked. Stop crying about it.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
Yeah, do something about it, Do something about it.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Oh, these guys are still pressing on us. They're killing us.
They should still be trying to kill us.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
I'm off that.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
I'm good, Like, get out of here, next one up.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
Taking a charge and pick up?
Speaker 5 (44:59):
This is this is a flagrant foul, super found Like
I don't see that.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
Don't do that.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
Who's respecting that bottle?
Speaker 3 (45:07):
Don't do that?
Speaker 2 (45:07):
Like who's checking the ball?
Speaker 3 (45:08):
You're not even getting that call. No, I'm not giving.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
You that call in the game. Before we give you
that call.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
You cass's mind is damn. They're gonna squabble. If you
take a charge and pick up, what is you doing?
Speaker 4 (45:21):
You're not gonna get the call. You're not gonna get.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
Calling a foul on a screen or rebound basically either
moving screen or over the back type of situation.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
You call it over the back and pick up.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Yeah, you call it over the back and pick up.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
Somebody if somebody pushing you, somebody pushing the back, calling
over the back and pick somebody calling over the.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
Back, you calling.
Speaker 4 (45:46):
You might not take the ball be like re check
up like somebody said a while lest you definitely call
it over the back and definitely push.
Speaker 3 (45:55):
If you don't get the rebound, it ain't get the
rebound or a.
Speaker 5 (46:00):
Yo, yo, give me that run that run that run that.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
Crazy like the moving screen to me is one of
the cheat codes and pick up because it's like it's
one of the like ways to eat it.
Speaker 4 (46:15):
It was slight moving screen. But if you like something,
all right, you get the ball back. Check but come on, yeah,
that's come on.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
No, ain't no foul on. No screens and pick up.
Speaker 4 (46:26):
If they grab a hold, you're not gonna say yo,
you give the ball back with the check up.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
You ain't getting that, Paul.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
You set the screen and Danny's trying to come away
and you get to just grab them and pick up.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
That's interesting.
Speaker 5 (46:40):
Just you know, you gotta you can't just over exaggerate,
just like, but not over the back. I'm calling foul.
I'm calling foul over the back. Don't go over my back, dog.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
Over the back.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Happens so much and pick fo five foul? Bro?
Speaker 4 (46:58):
I feel stop that you're doing too much, like a
bad screen.
Speaker 3 (47:01):
But it's like.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
When the guy obviously has the kind of rebounded position
and you just.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Like push him in the back, jump on my back.
Come on, now you doing too much? Just pick up,
let me get the rebound and keep it.
Speaker 4 (47:12):
You screening somebody holding him not doing too much.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
You can give a little hole like a quick boom,
let him go.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
This is the guy who played with KG the like.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
That's like like he was legal. He sure was, bro,
that's like a real legal screen on some jail house.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Like, ain't nobody doing it like that? And some people
be doing that, bro.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
What about that?
Speaker 1 (47:34):
I like this one jumping on the scores table after
a regular season.
Speaker 4 (47:38):
We know who this is taking. This is a foul.
This is a foul.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
This is a I thought in the playoffs it was a.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
Playing to the plays a playing game they wanted to
play in to get into the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (47:52):
They beat the Clippers to go into This is no regulars,
this is no five.
Speaker 3 (47:56):
I've done this. What was it?
Speaker 4 (48:01):
Like a game winner?
Speaker 3 (48:02):
Game winner?
Speaker 4 (48:02):
Okay, man, it's exceptions.
Speaker 5 (48:04):
A game winner is exception, buzzer beater. Exception, will make
an exception for a buzzer beater, exception for the buzzer beater,
for sure.
Speaker 4 (48:12):
Yeah. I think Tony's done that before too.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
Yeah, a buzzer beater.
Speaker 2 (48:15):
Yeah, I already know where Paul is going with this.
Speaker 1 (48:17):
Foul and no foul, talking trash while you're down twenty.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
No, no foul, no foul.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
If that's your if you're on brand, that's you talk
your ship right, If that's on If that's on brand
with you, you up and down. I just keep the
same energy.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
That's me.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
I probably talked some ship down twenty two.
Speaker 4 (48:37):
No, especially if you busting somebody ass. You can't guard me.
Speaker 5 (48:41):
We may be down twenty but you can't balling, but
your guarded.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Okay, this is our last one, which I'm really interested
to see where you guys are with.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
This foullow no foul, kicking out rowdy fans. I don't
know where's the line.
Speaker 4 (48:59):
How is the fan like to me?
Speaker 2 (49:02):
If it's not a racial epithet, that's what I'm thinking
I can call that, or.
Speaker 5 (49:10):
I don't know, if somebody's like your mother is a whore,
that's I mean, I'm not even caring.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
I'm not to.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
Ignore that he's supposed to play hoop. You supposed to
hoop and play through most.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
What about what about when Russ got somebody kicked out
for calling Westbrook.
Speaker 3 (49:24):
That was crazy.
Speaker 4 (49:25):
That's in the baseline. I think it's a Philly dudes
give him to and he was like, point remember that
ship he pointed to dude, Like, who the fuck is
this guy gave him?
Speaker 3 (49:35):
I'm saying some harsh and I've heard.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
Some harsh, but you was that back in that time.
You just learned to tune it out.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
And encouraging fans to be crazy and rowdy.
Speaker 4 (49:45):
That's what makes that's what makes the game what it is.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
So to me, if it's not a racial epithet, we
got no foul, no found, no foul, no foul.
Speaker 4 (49:58):
And let it happen, let him, let him be fans.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
More details, guys are emerging, not more from the Clippers
Chris Paul fallout. There's been a lot of talk about
how a fifteenth man on the bench should conduct himself.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
You know, we heard that a lot of.
Speaker 1 (50:22):
People, players included were like, bro, like you're not even
doing that, and like shut up type of thing with
Chris Paul Jannis of course had some thoughts about the
twelve to fifteen man on the bench.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
Here's what he said.
Speaker 7 (50:35):
I'm not a coach, but I am, as you said,
the head of a snake. So when the guy at
the end of the bench is like, hey man, I
can I can't do that. Man should beginning more minutes,
man like hey man, it's it's it's we, it's we,
and they, you know, like it's separating the thing a
guy in the end of the bench. So it's very
(50:55):
very important as it leading as a coach to the
end of the bench, the fifteenth guy, the twelfth guy
has to be positive because if that guy it's positive,
it translated all the way to the front.
Speaker 3 (51:07):
You get what I think.
Speaker 7 (51:08):
It's important and I think in winning teams, everybody knows
the rose is clear, they know the ruse, they know
when when they get the opportunity, you know, they have
to be ready. But also they don't disrupt the rhythm
and the energy of the team.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Yo joann is having a Greek accent is.
Speaker 4 (51:26):
So, I mean because when you hear and you see
people like imitate them as funny as it's they do
good impersonation.
Speaker 5 (51:33):
The black dude with the Greek accent is still but
he's got some he's got some good gems for a
guy that's not from here, he has some good insist.
Speaker 1 (51:40):
So he wasn't talking about Chris Paul specifically. But do
you guys think that's where Chris Paul got it wrong
in terms of the negativity coming from the.
Speaker 4 (51:52):
Fifteenth again, So who's to say it was like?
Speaker 2 (51:55):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (51:55):
I don't think he got it wrong. I don't think
it was negative. Like I haven't heard anything neggat so
I don't know. I wasn't in the locker room. All
I seen was certain things that came about was him
telling guys, yo, y'all can make these adjustments on the foot,
Like he's trying to implore guys to want to win.
You know, we got to pick up. Like they showed
a clip of him trying to tell two yea, we
(52:16):
got to they're rolling the ball, run a clock, yo,
we gotta get up. Let's show some certain sense of
urgency here. And he's just trying to implement like a
winning culture. To me, I don't think that's negative. I
do agree with Giannis. It does matter the twelfth man
and fifteen man. What the energy is like t NASA's
even though he doesn't play his energy, they feel I
love that too. Yeah, but again it does it matters,
(52:40):
Not like it makes a difference if you're twelfth or
fifteen man and you are rookie or your twenty years,
then it makes a difference. Like that matters. He holds
some different type of weight, he holds some different type
of respect. You're looking at him. Not only is just
a regular player fifteenth man, he's an extension of your team,
an extension of your coaching staff right at that point.
(53:00):
So he's been this league long enough to where he
could be a coach. Why would he not Why would
his suggestions not be taken an account?
Speaker 1 (53:06):
You're saying it just wasn't It wasn't a negative thing
that he was adding to the dynamic.
Speaker 4 (53:11):
From what I've seen and what's come out, Yes, from
what I've seen and what I've heard, I don't know
that all the ins and outs, I don't think it
was wrong by him. I don't think it was negative
by him. I think it was more of just a
battle of egos, Like that's what it feels like, Yo, Nah,
this is my show. Sit the fuck down. You don't
need to be doing that, you know what I'm saying,
Not that he was doing negative ags, just like oh
(53:32):
I wanted to We have enough bag going on that
we don't want anything else, but what I'm saying to
be happening, like guess how it was. And I think
that irritation just built up around everybody and it was
just having a no like no suggestion situation like this
an air tight thing. I don't know if y'all see that.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
And I think there's different Am I right or wrong?
It's a difference between Chris Paul veteran Hall of Fame
in future fifteen man or twelve man, and a really
young guy who's basically trying to hang on into the league.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
Like I don't think all twelve min's are.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
The same exact in terms of expectations of what they
should bring.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
With their energy.
Speaker 4 (54:15):
They're breaking down all these clips. They're showing you what
I seen. Anyway, they're showing you when he spoke up
and told them to do stuff like in this game
against Cleveland, he was like, Yo, we gotta get up.
Then he actually picks up himself. He starts guarding Darius
Garland himself because they didn't pick up. He ended up
getting like a decent stop Kawai gets at three, Kuhi,
you gotta get up, you're tired, get arrest or you
(54:35):
know what I'm saying, Like, but he was just trying
to get them engaged in a sense of arth.
Speaker 1 (54:39):
I think Chris Paul has a good and a standing
of winning basketball. And again, I don't think the people
were saying what he was saying is dumb. I think
people were just like, we don't want to deal with it.
Speaker 5 (54:48):
But the thing is, when you're losing, yeah, everything gets amplified,
like you don't want to hear nothing, like seriously, because
if they were a five hundred team, are better.
Speaker 3 (54:59):
To be there.
Speaker 5 (55:00):
But when you lose, Bro and I have done been
in some locker rooms where every little thing gets magnified
and and it's like, damn, two weeks ago, this wasn't
a thing, you know, but now it's this major. It
blew up into something that should have been and it's
(55:21):
just that's what it is. That's the culture that's there
in right now as we speak. I mean, they've been
for the most part of winning culture. And Clippers they
made the playoffs every year.
Speaker 1 (55:31):
They they've been over five Yeah, they've been competent.
Speaker 4 (55:38):
I've been a part of a decade. I've been in
a situation where coaches are like, oh, we're done with
the suggestion box type of ship. Yeah, now what kind
of locker room does that? Or what kind of you
know atmosphere?
Speaker 1 (55:50):
You wait the coach. The coach told the team like,
we don't want to hear what you have to say
about now, Cloud. Now nobody want to talk nobody. Is
that the kind of locker room you want? When nobody's
talking to each other.
Speaker 4 (56:03):
I'm thinking some shit, but I ain't gonna say, like,
we got a bunch of minds that we could put
together to be great? Why the fuck will we not
do that? Instead of oh no we're not taking your suggestions,
Why the fuck wouldn't you. I've been playing for fifteen years,
twenty years christball, I've won some championships. I'm not saying
we need to do this, but like, hey, maybe we
shoul could try. Maybe this could be all right, if
(56:24):
not cool, I ain't tripping, but no, no, no, fuck it.
Oh you guys are just missing know it alls Nobody, nobody.
Speaker 1 (56:29):
Can take any weird way to conduct the and then
now with a bunch of professionals.
Speaker 4 (56:34):
And I've been a part of lockers. Wh you're in
a film session, you're like asking questions like ship when
they start barking at you to ask questions, Damn, I
don't feel like I'm not asking question it's.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
Not allowed to ask questions if you can.
Speaker 4 (56:45):
But when you're losing, Oh, people don't even ask Yo.
They're like, you know what I'm saying. By their response
of the question, you like, damn, you know what I'm saying, Damn,
fuck it, I ain't gonna ask some more questions I'm saying. Right,
So that's how it can be. And that's not the
atmosphere you want, you know what I'm saying. Like, you
don't want fuckers scared to be asking the questions or
scared to bring things up right.
Speaker 3 (57:04):
They don't know.
Speaker 4 (57:05):
You want people to like the whole The main thing
of the game is communication, especially on defense on the floor.
That's how you win. You gotta talk, right, So why
wouldn't you want people talking to each other?
Speaker 3 (57:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (57:18):
Do you think a fifteen man can have a positive
impact on the team.
Speaker 5 (57:24):
Absolutely? I think you should never look at nobody on
a team that's lesser than.
Speaker 7 (57:30):
You.
Speaker 5 (57:30):
Know what I'm saying, your opinion, I value it. And
then if I see you working hard in practice, I
see you in the gym early, and you like set
in a standard for like the culture on how we
work and how we do things around here.
Speaker 3 (57:43):
I'll listen to what you gotta say. What do you see?
Speaker 5 (57:45):
You might see something I don't exactly, so yeah, of
course they always.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
I mean when I would come to the bench, I
always ask, even a rookie, what do you like?
Speaker 5 (57:53):
Just to see testing I'm not asking a rookie though,
I'm not asking rookie. Don't tell me nothing, just sit
back and listen, because a rookie, you gotta sit back
and listen first. First you got it as a rookie,
you gotta figure out how to get to the gym first.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
You gotta get that addressed. In the gym.
Speaker 4 (58:11):
Moment, you can ask them like what do you because
you can also teach them what they should be looking
at you. I'm saying That's how I've approached most of
the time. But a lot of times you can be
testing the guy like are you paying? What is going on?
But some guys may come to you. But if you
guys come be like okay. A lot of times I'll
ask certain people, what do you think.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
What you're doing that to come out that screen.
Speaker 4 (58:31):
That's a little different. That's a difference.
Speaker 2 (58:35):
If you shut up.
Speaker 4 (58:40):
I'm not letting a rookie come to me. As the rookies.
Speaker 3 (58:44):
Get up, he Daddy get up on him a little
tighter on that.
Speaker 5 (58:47):
Rookie saying that fifteenth man rookie saying, hey, you're gonna
look crazy at him.
Speaker 4 (58:55):
I will go to him. I'm not letting them approach me,
but I'll ask certain people. Most time, you're not you're
not embracing information that's come to you if you're not
asking for it. Even if it's a guy that's fifteen
years if he comes to you like, yo, people, what
the fun was that? Like, shut up, I'm not here
on the court?
Speaker 2 (59:11):
Who is?
Speaker 4 (59:11):
Who is? I'm pretty sure even Ron even Ticket was like, yo,
people are doing on the.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
Yeah, yeah, you just say that to me that rookie.
Can't rookie rookies going up to daddy. Hey, you need
to get out of that break a little more.
Speaker 4 (59:32):
Go to the part of the extreme.
Speaker 3 (59:35):
Daddy was allowed over. I'm not giving you no over dialog.
Speaker 4 (59:39):
I'm just saying, shut up. Not receptive. Depending on what
the time out is, You're not really receptive to anybody
coming to you. A lot of times you'll go to
them like unless they come to a positive light. But
in that respect, both of you.
Speaker 1 (59:50):
Guys is saying is that it's a team. Everybody needs to.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Be a part of it and feel a part of it.
And that's what's most important. Yeah, all right, man, team ball.
It matters.
Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
And so before we get out of here, our last
thing I wanted to ask you guys about because I
think there's been a lot of chatting basically since this
thing got announced.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
And that's the NBA Cup, the nd season tournament. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
Has it been a good addition to the NBA? Does
it make the regular season more exciting?
Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Yeah? Yeah absolutely. I Mean the court's a little bright,
but you know, it gives them some extra play.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
For That's the only thing I don't like is the courts.
Speaker 4 (01:00:29):
They get to hoop for a little bread, go to Vegas.
It gives everybody the opportunity to go watch games in Vegas.
People in Vegas and Nevada give us a part of
the NBA to go to Vegas. Yeah, some of the
guys that at the end of the bench, like fifteenth
to two way guys could change their own money here
summer making that money. What I'm saying, so good little
Christmas boot bonus if you can, if you can get there.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
I think.
Speaker 5 (01:00:54):
I love that addition by the way of the the
min season tournament, but like, I feel like it should
turn into more of an All Star weekend type of deal,
like to where maybe you do the Dunk Contest and
all of that, doing the.
Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
Games that time, like people actually watching good games during
that time.
Speaker 5 (01:01:13):
Yeah, like I think it should turn into more of
a festival like weekend at no. I just thought about
it because if everybody because I'm I'm I want, I
want to go to Vegas for the Cup now, and
I like, I just wish it turn into a weekend.
So like, oh, they have this activation, Oh they're having
this NBAH the three Point Contest.
Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
Way that they're doing it right now, they're trying to
they're trying to fit it into the NBA schedule where
it's like if you're you're gonna be there from Saturday
to Tuesday. If you make it to the Championship and
I just or I think it's Friday to Tuesday if
you make it to the Championship. So I would have
(01:01:54):
liked to see them just do it almost like a
March Madness format where the semi final, like you know
how you have this Saturday, Monday, and the Elite eight
happening one weekend. I think they should separate the semis
and the Championship to two weekends instead of trying to
cram it into one.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Your you get your.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Semi final in that one weekend. Everybody goes for that.
And I think there should be more time in between
the games so that the fans of the actual teams
have a chance to go because right now, if you're
a fan of the Knicks or the Magic and Tuesday
night you find out and they're playing on Friday, that's
(01:02:37):
not a lot of time to travel. I think if
you gave them a week and a half more people,
fans of the actual team will be able to plan
out a way to get down probably.
Speaker 4 (01:02:48):
Three days, and then for the championship Sunday and tuesdayday Saturday, Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
And Tuesday, and then for the Championship the same thing,
like how do you even know to plan for Vegas,
your flights, your hotel because you don't even know if
your team is gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
Win, or you pack for the whole weekend just in case,
and yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
And then you just change up, change your flights.
Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
Some people don't want to do the the flights that
you can cancel and predo that costs morning to no.
Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
I like what you're thinking, but we have too many
games to get to to have two weeks in between
the middle of the season where he's just playing for
the like it's great for the fans, But yeah, I
think you're asking a lot of guys to put the
season on hold another week. Yeah, other teams are waiting
to play other teams. You're saying, like that'll be tough
to do. But I like where your head's at, man,
(01:03:39):
where it's trying to get like the people time.
Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
Because that's been my only complaint is that the NBA.
Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
The semis there. I guess look at that the semis
just today and tomorrow, right, they could have been doing
them in Vegas. Just have it in the four or
five days, like have it during the week, have a
long week, and whether when wins keeps going, the others
go home.
Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
And the thing about it for me with the Vegas thing.
My only my literally, my only complaint about n season
tournament is the actual in arena situation where these tickets
cast so much freaking money, and so the NBA is
literally it's like really rich people or like corporations buying
(01:04:18):
stuff for their employees or the NBA's partners, you know,
whether it be Kia michelob all of the NBA's myriad
of partners, those people are filling the stands and it's
not enough one just local Vegas people who love the
NBA being able to come check out the games. And
then you know, fans of the actual teams like it's
(01:04:38):
bad enough, we gotta fly out here.
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Get a hotel. Now you wanna charge me three four hunderd.
Speaker 3 (01:04:43):
Dollars for a ticket?
Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
That's my only complaint about in season.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
It's like the n Stadium atmosphere is hindered by the
lack of regular, every day NBA fans being in there.
It's almost like how NFL fans complain about the Super Bowl.
It's like, bro, if you can't afford a ten thousand
dollars ticket, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
No real fan career, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
And so that's my only thing with the n season
Other than that, I love that there's a big competitive tournament,
Like these guys are super competitive.
Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Fans, forget about this. How competitive you guys are literally everything.
Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
So you're telling me there's a tournament and there's a
chance to win millions of dollars. These guys are trying
their hardest, man, and that's like to me, that's what
it's all about, watching NBA players play with stakes involved.
And so I love the n season tournament. I'm happy
that it's been added to the schedule. Or so that's
our show for today. Make sure, as always, you're liking
