Speaker 1 (00:00):
Am I the ahole for not informing my friend I
was skipping his birthday after his girlfriend kept harassing me
about being the typical girl best friend. This comes from
from particular anxious to a two cents. Miles and I,
I'm assuming the friend have known each other since we
were two because our parents are best friends, bro best
friends and stipers. Let's freaking go.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I would say at that points a one day one.
There you go.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Really cousins practically cousins.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah, I like that. I love that. Now I would
not say Miles is my best friend. He has a
good friend, and we do hang out on occasion, but
see each other on all major holidays because of our parents.
We are in our early twenties. Problems started because of
dumb childhood memory. When we were eight, we had a
wedding play on our school after care. I played with
the bride. I played the bride and Miles the groom.
(00:44):
It was play with horrible songs and uncoordinated kids.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Ah, that's cuge.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
That is adorable. Of course, our parents made pictures and
videos of that, and we each have one picture on
our family picture walls. Miles is dating Lindy. They met
three years ago and started dating last year. Lindy does
not like me, boo Lindy. Linda doesn't like me. We
don't like Lindy. So every time we can see at
a celebration, she makes a comment about me being the
(01:12):
typical girl best friend. Basically like, oh, that's the girl
best friend, but like, actually, she just wants to get you.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
That's yeah, I think that's what she's trying to say.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
She's jealous. Basically, yeah, she's insecure. She one time said
that I secretly wanted to sleep with Miles spread in
rumors now bread and rumors. What is this spreading gossip?
I have no clue where she got that impression from.
Miles and I have different friend groups and schedules. Besides
the monthly catch up over food, we don't really meet
that much.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Dude, I know where she got that from.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Talk to me.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Her legs hurt from her legs are hurt, and from
jumping to all these conclusions or must be killing her.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Nice, dude, you crushed that, You crushed that. You know what.
Your back is hurting from carrying this podcast. That's rights
my legs. Though, Things got worse when Lindy saw the
wedding play picture, Lindy, you need to get over to yourself.
The comments just got more. She even started dming me
on Instagram saying, she I know what game you are playing.
(02:11):
I know how game you are applying. Like, what do
you think you can do? You think you can like
freaking do that.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Like you think you're gonna start plotting against man since
you were eight?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
That all, like you gotta do that. I mean, I
was like, he's my man.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
I like you gotta do that.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I'm like, I want to take down your little kid
wedding bit of back.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Off my mind, and I'm gonna like slash your tires
and like ruin your life like so.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Bad you even know what.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
She never born. That's Lindy right now. That's freaking Lindy. Okay,
the comments just got more. I was talking to Miles
once about this and he told me to give her time.
Give her time, Miles.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Dude, Miles, your friend that you've known since too is
basically feeling this way to your girl. You should probably
should probably listen to your friend for one time. Do that.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
This is a tough call though, because current girlfriend versus
best friend since you were two. That is that's a
tough matchup. That is a very, very tough.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
But your current girlfriend should be, like, be the bigger person.
I have a whole thought of how this car.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Falck to me. Dude, break it down for me.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
The current girlfriend should have been like, oh my gosh,
that's so cute. Oh my gosh, that's so neat that
you guys have that. And then the bigger person so
like all their like childless things that they went through here,
and if you are the bigger person, you're above it
and you're like, I'm not gonna bring myself down to
that level. She's here.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Here's the problem. The girlfriend is an immature child, yes, exactly.
So wait wait, wait, so I thought you were saying
what Lindy should do. Differently, what are you saying you.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Should have been like, oh, this is here, like she's
being immature. Lady's maturity should be here with all the
things that she's saying, but she's over here.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Basically, what I'm trying to say is she should have
acted cool about their friendship.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
She should have. But we are now going to OPI
what should op do because in the reality of this story,
Opie has nothing, has no choice, but like Lindy's gonna
behave how Lindy's behaving? Yeah, So now what can OPI do?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
OPI's gonna yeah, we's finish it out.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Let's finish it out. Let's see it. So his birthday
was on Saturday, Miles as was, and I was invited.
Lindy wrote me saying something along the lines that she
was going to supervise me. This was their first birthday
as a couple, and I was not allowed to take
up his time. I was honestly just fed up. I
tried talking to Miles once more, but he said the
(04:18):
same thing. So I just skipped out. When the party started,
I wrote a quick story, sorry I can't come, and
told him my mother was going to bring his present.
Now he's upset with me for missing his birthday. Lindy
is mad, and I made it all about myself, and
my parents are upset I missed a family function. Am
I the ahle? And we do have an edit here,
But honestly, I'm kind of like, what is OP supposed
(04:40):
to do?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Can't do anything? Did I feel like she did the
right thing?
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Like Lindy. Lindy is basically like I am going to
every second year around him, I am going to make
your life hell. So OPI is like, fine, I give up,
and the boyfriend Miles, He's like siding with the girlfriend, right,
and like I really don't know what else OP is
supposed to do other than like I feel like Lindy
(05:05):
should be thrilled, Like logically, if you want her out
of the picture and she stops coming to functions like
the party, You're like, oh, great, amazing, But then she
turns around, She's.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Like wow, like why did you make it like all
about yourself? And like why are you so mean ingredient?
Like like why do you suck so much on?
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Like I want to murder you? But I like Ken
because it's.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
A legal Lindy is a person that needs to be
upset about something. Yeah, she'll find you.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Made a great point. Lindy will literally complain no matter
what exactly, So you can't win. So why not just
completely disengage And if your friend isn't gonna help you,
if the parents are just gonna like you, you simply
cannot win. So OP, it sucks because literally everyone is
attacking OPE for really the only option I feel like
(05:50):
they have left.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
You just need to write it out of OP.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Just sit back in the background. Maybe Lindy is here today,
gone tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Maybe you'll figure it out. I mean, he still the
family would have avera you're showing the receipts, be like, look,
she's weird. I can't be around there. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
I think I think her own parents were like getting
on her case. I think you can sit the parents
down and be like, here's the full situation. What am
I supposed to do? And the parents I think should
be able to see reason. They obviously probably have a
bias towards Op because that's their child. And maybe you
know what, maybe you do the same thing to Miles
and you sit down and you're like, listen, I can't win.
Here is exactly the whole situation and why I can't win.
(06:26):
Just so you're clear on like why my hands are
kind of tied. I'm just gonna like I want to
continue my friendship with you, but I kind of gotta
I feel like fall back, and I don't want to
get in the middle of your relationship. Like I'm not
trying to like cause a mass, cause a scene. I
just want to have a drama free friendship, that is all.
But it seems like if I have a friendship with you.
It will involve drama in people coming for me, so like,
(06:47):
and if you're not gonna, what I see is step
up and help me respectfully. I'm out.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah, that's the most sensible thing you can do.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
But I don't know if we have much sense because
we have more of the story edits. I didn't show
anyone the messages because I didn't want to make more
out of it than it is. I don't want to
poison anyone against Lindy, especially not if she is the
new fixture in Miles's life. This would make both of
our lives more difficult. I hope that just talking about
it might be the more adult thing. My parents are
(07:15):
not mad at me or blowing up my phone all
already fashion They and miles parents were just bummed out
that this was the first birthday party I ever missed.
That's I didn't even think about that context. She's probably
been to every single one of his birthday parties since
he was two years old. That's kind of wild.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, there was definitely like a your presence.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
So that's why I mean, not to justify. I think
Lindy's point is absolutely like over the line. However, it
definitely was like a felt a present. The presence was
felt missing for sure. As to why she is jealous,
I have no idea. Neither of our parents ever wanted
us to get together. There were no jokes or anything
about it. I think they also never would want that.
(07:56):
The wedding play picture is in the living rooms because
they loved the picture and it was our first because
it's cute, because it's adorable and you're literally literally freaking children.
How how dumb do you bet? Like we talk all
the time the show. There's like, you know, relationships when
you're like high school, Like again through high school, I
feel like, is pretty benign your poppy love. It might
(08:18):
not be. It might just be like dating because you're
spending time. You know, you spend a lot of time
with a person. It's high school with the middle school, Like,
come on, when you're a literal like a true like
a child child, you're playing wedding coma, come on, not
Lindsay Lindy, Lindy, Lindy Lindy. You insecure, little pickle. Uh
(08:38):
Yeah yeah, that's that's not.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
The move here, girl at all.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
The move is to respect his friends. And it's kind
of sad that like I and you know what, you
know what Riley? I feel for Miles, He's in a
rock and a hard place. On one hand, his new girlfriend,
his girlfriend is like, hey, you know I want this
stuff to be happy that da and then his best
friend since he was two is like, hey, like I'm
innocent here, Why are you coming for me? Like I
(09:02):
don't want to stop like being friendly and like doing
being doing our friend ship things. So Miles is kind
of like in the middle and is low key kind
of forced to pick a side because if he doesn't
pick a side, then he's siding with with Op basically,
so he sides with Lindy. Oh, basically. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
I feel like there's gonna be more stories coming.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Out of this, yeah or updates.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
This seems like the relationship is very news. I'm very
curious about it's gonna play out.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
I'm curious too. I am curious too. While there might
not be a lot of love here, if you love us,
please make sure to subscribe We Love You and Seeing themo.
This is an episode from Deep Within the Archives, time
for okop Rewam. Would I be to a hole if
I say him? My daughter to Fat Camp? Hey, little Fat,
(09:52):
So you're too fat, So I'm sending you to fat camp.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Okay, actually all right, but if you get sent to
fat camp, aren't you just with a bunch of there
fat people?
Speaker 1 (10:01):
And also, I think it's all about branding, but.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Like your community becomes like like you are the five
people that you associate with, right, and so the five
people you associate with all that fat camp, the probability
of you being fat.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Oh interesting, we'll continue. I thought, I thought you're you're
the angle you were taking is like, uh, the dad
is just giving her her community exactly, Like yeah, hey,
also that what's got to be with my people, my
fellow fat soos? Oh man, all right, So I just
(10:35):
got into a huge argument with my ex husband about this.
My fourteen year old daughter Abby just hit two hundred
and ten pounds. How tall is she? It doesn't matter,
But I mean unless she's like six eight, that's pretty rough.
And at fourteen, I think that's like, I think it's
one thing if you're an adult and you're like, okay,
whatever you're on, you're kind of an adult and you're off,
(10:58):
you're doing your own thing, but like the kid be
to ten man, that that that yeah, that's unfortunate. That's big.
That's big. Uh. This started about one point five years
ago when me and my ex's divorce was finalized. Yo,
in one and a half years, she gained like one
hundred pounds, that's I mean, yeah, fourteen years yeah probably,
(11:19):
I mean how much did yeah? How much? How much
does a fourteen year old girl?
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Way?
Speaker 1 (11:23):
I probably like seventy pounds, like definitely below one hundred,
one hundred and five, but still, I mean that's that's over.
That's over one hundred pounds gained. If she was at
a normal weight, that is fourteen year olds joint she
weighs to fourteen good gravy. Oh okay, so growing up,
(11:44):
Abby was always an average weight. So yeah, she's probably
one hundred five until we got fifty to fifty custody.
When we were together, I would do the cooking and
the shopping, and we ate a pretty good diet with
some junk food thrown in here there, which is fine. Yeah,
the divorce was kind of messy, but we sent the
kids to therapy and it was doable. Abby started gaining
(12:06):
weight when we went fifty to fifty co parenting, so
basically the mom's probably like feeding her twinkies and like
ice cream and oh yeah, oh he's a wife. So
the dad, Oh the dad, dad would be yeah, the dad.
The dad got her fat at the beginning. I just
thought it was gaining weight before a growth spurt. But
(12:26):
this was not the case. It does not seem like
he could not grow either. Yeah. Oh well, I think
like when she when she started getting weight, she was like, oh,
it's probably just like yeah, maybe the change will even out.
It'll even out. But it didn't. At my house she
was eating okay, but at her father's it was all
(12:47):
junk food. He doesn't cook, and he makes it worse
because he lives by if it's on your plate, you
eat it. So in short, he is giving her way
too big proportions of crap and she made has to
eat it. Oh that is terribly, so stupid. He did
not realize that he's like inflating his daughter. Literally, I've
(13:07):
talked to him so many times. I have tried to
let her serve her own food amount instead of him
loading up her plate, but he will budge. So he's
he's literally like he's the problem, bro. Just just have
the food, like okay, whatever you're you you just like
crying on the table it's like, what literally, just like,
here's the food, add it to your plate. Yeah, it's simple,
(13:31):
my god, to be fair. My parents also kind of
had that rule where it's like, you know, don't waste food. Ah,
it's different. It's it's different. It sounds like, yeah, the
dad is like giving her like huge portions and then
like forcing her to it too much.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
They're giving you like he's like he's giving her equal
portions to him, and he's probably way too.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
That's probably right. I got Abby into sports, which she
enjoys for the most part, but it's not enough to
stop the weight gain. I went to the doctor a
nutritionists and it comes down to her basically eating three
times the calories at her father's place. Three times. If
you think about it, that's like eating nine normal meals
(14:10):
a day.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Nine.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
That's insane. That's crazy. So, since Abby likes soccer, I
found an overnight camp from Friday to Sunday night, the
days that he usually has Abby. Okay, I can see
where that could garners of friction. I'd be seemed on
board with the idea, and this way her dad will
not be feeding her or even really seeing her for
the next couple of months. Okay, that's well yeah, borderline
(14:35):
Dvius right there. Yeah, I would at least, I mean,
you can't really control it, probably with the timing of it,
but like ideally it's split like you know, or you
know what, they changed the co parenting schedule so that way,
like half of that top half of the camp she's
would have been her mom's time, and then the other
half is like the dad's. Yeah, but I guess like
the other you know, that means she's still eating badly
(14:59):
at her dad some Yeah, but I guess it's less
half of the time. Yeah. I informed him of the
camp and that Abby wants to do it. It was
a big argument that he circled around to her weight.
He accused me of sending her to fat camp. So
am I the a hole? And edit, I am currently
talking to a lawyer to try to get custody changed
(15:21):
or at least a food clause in the agreement. There's
food clauses. That's crazy. I mean, I guess it makes sense,
like at the end of it, like think about our contract.
It's like at the end of the day, it's a
very specific thing to like what we do with a
brand or whatever. So it's like all right with the children.
It's whatever you do with the children. They have to
agree on that thing. Bizar it is crazy.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
I don't think the mall like it sounds like it's
something that the kid wants to do, so it's like
not like bad for the kid, it is devious to
put on them. Then it's like the dad's not seeing
his kids, but the dad needs to. Like I think
the food.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Clause thing is a good idea because that's obviously at
her child in a negative way. I think if she's
working with the lawyer and if they brought the case
of like look, it doesn't even have to be like
during the dad's time, but like some action needs to
be taken where it's like he's not a sent he's
basically forcing her to overeat ye like which when you
think about it that way, like really it's insanity. What's
(16:21):
you gonna do
