Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is cole Minor John. This is cole Minor Sam and.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
We have been digging for stories on the Okay Storytime podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
As long as we can remember saying, and we've found
some diamonds of the rough. Hoy have, don't we? John?
That's right?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
But before we do that, we have to wade through
two more minutes of incredible ads from our sponsors keeping
us finding more great stories on this show. I caught
my exis fiance having an affair with her maid of honor.
It's pretty bad timing, not very honorable. So backstory, I've
known my ex let's call him Ben, since I was
a kid. He's always been very close to my family,
(00:32):
to the point that my parents are basically serving as
the de facto parents of the groom. By the way,
this comes from able l al able alv And if
you want to submit your own stories, go to the
r slash Okay Storytime Separatists. So Ben and I started
dating when we were sixteen and broke up a year
after college. It was a mutual decision. We both had
(00:53):
a lot of emotional baggage and it seemed like the
best choice at the time.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I ended up spending eighteen months traveling and kind of
bouncing around the world while he worked and stayed close
to home.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Ben meant Hannah before I got back to the States,
and they got engaged a few weeks after.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
I got back. Whoa pre engagement?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Ben is running it back pre engagement? Yeah, make it
happen fast. My mom is playing a big role in
the planning process. Both of my brothers are groom spins,
and I'm actually a bridesmaid. Oh chat, please answer me
right now. Would you have an X as a bridesmaid
(01:32):
in your wedding?
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Interesting?
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Ah, if you made him do the big O, no.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Go, that's Riley's phrase.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I think we made that up like you and Sam
did once. You're like, if you make them do the
big O and you've seen them without any clothes, that's
a big no.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
That sounds accurate. I think I remember, I think I
remember that. Maybe that's so funny. So Hannah won me
as one of her bridesmaids because I'm like the groom's sister.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Gag me.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
So it actually happened, oh John don.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
But also it's crazy because it wasn't even Ben the X,
it was his bride Hannah.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Are you all even that close?
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Of the family super close.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Okay, Well, and it was like sixteen they got together sixteen,
so it's kind of like it's giving like major family
friend ye okay, well like a friend fan, So I
can I see some of it?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
But yeah, yeah, if everyone went to the same chart here,
I've probably already seen this happen before.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
All right, Yeah, Oh, can we do a poll X
made of honor or not? The closer the wedding gets,
the more I see of both of them. First of all,
full disclosure, I still carry a little bit of a
torch for Ben.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
It's not a.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Huge crush, but there's definitely a little something there. We
dated for like seven years. It's not a massive, swooning crush.
And I don't hold any resentment towards Hannah, but there's
a little tiny bit of attraction there. How little and
tiny are we talking?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
This is interesting. I think you might have to recuse
yourself potentially.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I don't want to.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
See that happening. Yeah, watching a puppy die went to
a wedding of your crush.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Oh man, Yeah, that's not fun.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
That's on that.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
And second of all, I'm fairly sure that he still
carries a little bit of a torch for me. He
made a couple of comments that suggested that he regretted
breaking up, even though he hasn't emotionally cheated.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
It seems like he gave up on me and is
ignoring any latent feelings and focusing on the present. So
moving on to the present, Hannah has three bridesmaids, me,
a college friend, and a childhood friend. We are going
to call her college friend Lucy. Lucy and Hannah are
very close friends, and there's nothing wrong with that. Last weekend,
my mom organized a kind of all weekend DIY sleepover
(03:57):
at her house. I'm imagining like the All Stars weekend
or di y uh bridal shower girly activities.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
What are you doing yourself at this sleepover?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Painting nails myself?
Speaker 3 (04:11):
I put it together. No wait, you're saying paint nails.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Painting nails and uh facials and that kind.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
I thought we were flipping houses, making new tables, doing
all this carpentery type stuff.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
That's the HGTVS version.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
No interior designing, no interior design, no actually doing yourself
attack nails and.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Doing your nails yourself, do your hair yourself, dude, there
you go.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Perks of having a sister, I guess I would have.
I would have.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Basically all of us, bridesmaid Brian, a few others, like
my boyfriend's girlfriend. We're going to spend the weekend glue
gunning favors and stuffing Mason jars.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Okay, making cute little crafts.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
So the first night I got a weird five from
Lucy and Lucy again is.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Who is uh the college friend? Oh? You want to
do it?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yes, Sophia, are you ready to pull up our friend?
Dingis bot? Dingis bot? Who is Lucy in this story?
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Chat? Dingis bot is cooking? Stop responding all star?
Speaker 3 (05:11):
But Lucy is the college friend.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
So the first night I got a weird vibe from
Lucy Hannah's college friend, like she was upset about something.
I asked my brother's girlfriend and she noticed the same thing.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Wait can you go back to what was the mason
jar thing?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Oh? They were that's part of their diys. They're making
a little craft Oh for the wedding.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
I have a DIY shirt and I don't even know
what it means. Okay, I'm on track. Now we're here,
We're here.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Uh So, Lucy Hannah my brother's girlfriend and I were
supposed to be sharing a room, but my brother's girlfriend
had discreetly migrated to my brother's bedroom, so it.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Was just the three of us.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It felt really tense and weird, and I heard them
start snapping at each other the moment I left the room.
At this point, I was curious, so when I came back,
I told them I was going upstairs.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
But I really just waited outside.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
I know, I know, but it was my house. Uh,
and I'm nosy as f so I guess he's okay,
she's he's dropping.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Now that's where we're going.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Like.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
The conversation was kind of muffled, but basically Hannah said
that she loved Ben, and then Lucy said asked why
she Lucy even bothered, and then Hannah backtracked and start
talking about how she loved Lucy too, and that she
didn't want to end things. Oh yeah, we are. We
(06:29):
are rolling back to the title of the story.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Ah wait, Ben likes Lucy.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
No, no, no, no, Hannah likes Lucy yup, yup, yup mm hmm,
and Hannah saying that she loved Lucy too. They're saying
they love each other and that she didn't want to
end thing, but she's about to get married to OPI's
ex and family friend.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Just uh, what's the women woman equivalent of beard? Wig?
Speaker 1 (07:02):
They're each other's wig.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Then then then like get it, have the husband for
the money. Oh you're saying that, and then just have
like the girlfriend always around, like, oh, Lucy's coming over,
We're gonna do nails. Don't come in my room. Don't
come in my room every time.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
This is a DIY project, you know what's being done.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
And then the dy project is so boring that the
guy always leaves to go get beers with his friends.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Dude, come on, they're gonna put the doing in doing
it yourself?
Speaker 3 (07:28):
And what is he gonna be mad? Whenever you see you, guys,
it'll probably be confused. It'd be like, what this what
this makes no sense?
Speaker 1 (07:34):
All right?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
This is this is saucy. It's the saucy y'all. It's
getting dicey. So Lucy said that she had to make
a choice, and then Hannah apologized, and it seriously sounded
like there was some kind of physical affection. When I
came back through the door, they weren't talking and Hannah
wouldn't look me in the eye. The next morning, the
two of them had some kind of argument and Lucy
left right after. Hannah told my mom it was just
(07:57):
something with Lucy's brother. So I told my brother's girlfriend
about all of this, and she said that it made
perfect sense based on the behavior over the weekend and
that she believed me, but that she didn't think anyone
else would because it wasn't like I had proof and
I was the groom's ex girlfriend. Dude, Okay, just to
recap the dynamics going on here, Op is not only
(08:21):
the grooms ex but also she thinks they both have
like at least a little bit of feelings for each other.
So if Op goes out and says, hey, uh, you
know your your fiance is cheating on you with Lucy,
everyone's'd be like, yeah, you would say that you want
to break them up so you can marry.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Him, or there's that route. Whereas Hannah trying to offload
beIN Ope so she can get with Lucy.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
So oh, so she brought her in as a bridesmaid
to get Ope closer to Ben and then have them
run on.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Dude, someone's gotta make a movie out of this. I'm
gonna write your scripts based off of this Rudd story.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
There's so many there's so many plots that could go,
and each one of them is insane.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
This is a.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Twist I would have never respect expected at all.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
And it's sort of like the whole movie's about, like
the bride trying to get op to be with the husband.
It's like, oh my god, you guys are so fun.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
And it's like, why is she being this weird? And
you find out ow so.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
And there's really no polite way to ask my ex's
fiance if she's cheating on him.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
I could try talking to Ben about it, but I
highly doubt that he would believe me. I feel like
I need to make sure that my ex doesn't make
a massive mistake, but I feel like I don't know
how to stop it. My brother's girlfriend is right, it's
one of those things that doesn't sound credible if you
weren't there. And there's netta.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
There seems to be virtually no consensus in this thread.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Top level comments in order right now, talk to Ben,
talk to your brother's girlfriend, stay out of it. Anonymous note,
Talk to your mom, don't do anything, Talk to Lucy,
talk to Hannah, Okay, So the advice is literally everything.
Ice is literally do nothing and do everything.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Go to the brother's girlfriend, like, Yo, I'm gonna hand
this one off to you. Uh you take it like
a quarterback giving it to the running back for a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Yeah, hand off, thank you. I have the ball, but
you need to take you need to carry it home. Yes,
I'm thinking I might actually start with Hannah.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
And there's an update. Honestly, that's the yes that that
that is the answer.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Sophia's Hannah, what what which way would you go first?
M I feel the way that you don't and really
raise that Yes, left, all.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
Right, Sophia, very insightful, like I'm talking about Nobel Prize
winning thoughts. Right, everyone go left, Everyone go Leftfia Donner.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Yeah, let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
There was a lot of different opinions about how to
deal with the situation, a lot of which we just discussed.
After talking it over with my brother's girlfriend, I decided
to talk to Hannah the bride, playing right into Riley's plot,
just in case. She and Lucy the maid of honor
had a really weird but logical explanation I think true.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I figured she.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Couldn't go nuclear because my ex isn't the kind of
guy to tolerate that crap, and my family would take
my side, if only because I'm related to them. Basically,
she doesn't have enough power to shut me up. I
did decide to record the convo and meet her in
public just in case.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
But that's what you think, Ope, that she doesn't have
enough power to shut you up, but she does.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
It might work, It can work. I think it's possible.
I think it's possible. I'm pulling out hope.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
No.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Uh So I texted her and we met yesterday after
she finished work. Basically, we made a few minutes of
small talk and then I pretty much just told her
exactly what I heard. She calmly blew it off at first,
but then she started getting really defensive and accusing me
of violating her privacy, which is fair. I guess she
hasn't said that no one.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Will believe you yet though.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, that's her last line before she walks away.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Oh, wait for it.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
And if she says that she's got it on tape,
because mourning it okay?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
And then I take the phone and thrown in the water. Gone,
I have faith. And then she somehow shows her phone
that it's been recording, and she goes boom, gone, oot,
who's gonna believe you?
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Now, I think I think we got this. I have faith,
I have faith. Chat.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
But I push her a little bit more and she
sort of reverted back to being sweet slash nice. She
told me that it was a huge secret, but the
truth was that Lucy was in love with her and
didn't like that she was getting married, but that Hannah
didn't want to lose her as a friend.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
And this is where the evil villain explains the plot.
Also in the movie I'm watching this back from myself. Yes, editor,
I meant, note Riley in the future put that Hannah
sees the phone on the table and she pours her
glass of water onto the phone and it explodes.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Ouch.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Now this sounded actually pretty plausible, and I was this
close to actually believing her until I remembered the way
she had told Lucy that she loved her lock in
don't forget that part. I tell my friends I love
them every so often, but I don't say it like
she did.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
I wish John would say it like she did. I
love you, Oh man, I felt something got him.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
So I just said that, well, you said you loved her,
and then I heard you too. I kind of paused
on purpose, since I wasn't completely sure that the noise
I heard was physical affection, and figured she would fill
in the blanks. She looked completely freaked out and totally
lost her very calm slash sweet vibe. Then she effing
(13:38):
started sobbing and talking about how she loved Ben and
he was so nice and she hadn't.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Meant to hurt him. We're getting her now.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
She kept talking about how nice he was, and I'm
just kind of like, what the half is wrong with you?
Speaker 1 (13:51):
What's wrong with you?
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Huh?
Speaker 2 (13:53):
And then she started begging me not to tell anyone
that she would break things off with Lucy and blah
blah blah blah blah and find a new bridesmaid.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
And I told her that she had to tell Ben
or I would.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Also just again the insanity and audacity she's she has
the woman she's sleeping with and cheating with as her
maid of honor in her wedding.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
I mean, it's just easier to have her there, you know,
It's like, oh uh, last minute, prehaps boom cheat.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
This is insane, this is crap. I didn't even the
strings weren't fully connecting my brain until just now wow,
and then said to me telling Ben would ruin everything,
which pissed me off. So I said that she ruined
everything when she decided to f her maid of honor.
I'm gonna take this moment right here to catch our
good boy keon up to speed, please key on. This
(14:46):
story is legitimately insane.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
I'm writing a rom comn on.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Yees see, Riley's Lily going to write a movie office.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
So basically, Opie Uh dated this guy, you know, when
she was sixteen for seven years, they broke up, stayed
good friends. It was like a mutual breaking off. This
guy's name is Ben. So Ben is marrying Hannah now,
and turns out Hannah is not only cheating on Ben,
she's cheating on Ben with her maid of honor in
(15:13):
the wedding.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
Wait wait, she's cheating with Ben. No, no, no, sorry, Ben's
cheating with Ben's Ben is Ben is clean? He's a
good boy.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Ben's a good boy. Ben's amazing Hannah. Who's who is
his bride?
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Hannah is sleeping with her friend Slash made of honor Lucy.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Oh yes, yes, she's.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Her even of honor In the wedding and she's having
a full blown affair with her, telling her she loves
her and doesn't want to end thing.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
That's why she's the maid of honor.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Duh.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
This makes sense, guys, this makes so much sense.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I'm breaking, I'm breaking.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
And then she started listing all of the stuff that
they'd already planned for their wedding. And then she had
the effing nerve to whine that Ben would be so
devastated and we shouldn't do that to him, as if
I'm partially responsible for.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Any of this.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Now, well, she was getting more and more upset and
irrational about it, so I decided to bail. I told
her that she had to tell Ben that evening or
I would, and walked out the door. And then nothing.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Oh nothing, dang, I thought Hannah. I was going to
destroy the phone, all right.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Nope, nothing, that's that's in the Riley original.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Okay, that's where I'm going to just start escalating.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Subscribe now for that movie. Okay.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
I kept waiting for an uncomfortable phone call from one
of them, or even secondhand news from someone in my family,
but absolutely nothing. So I'm sitting there wondering if Hannah
is trying, uh, some kind of cover up or is
just ignoring me in hopes that I just forget.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Then at one am I.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Get this rambling message from her that started with told
him everything, leave him alone, okay, and went on for
a few sentences about how she and Ben both thought
that I needed to grow up and stop trying to
interfere with their lives.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
I told you, Opie, you thought Hannah didn't have a
lot of power.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
She does.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
She does because it okay, hold, but I'm just saying,
if you talk to the person, Oh no, I want
to stay with Ben. I want to stay with Ben.
Are they going to tell the absolute truth? Or are
they gonna skew it to make it look good for them?
Speaker 1 (17:14):
This is true? But did she did she either?
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Honestly, My guess here is she told him absolutely nothing,
which she's why she's like, do not talk to him
about it exactly.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Oh, by the way, I had dinner with Ope and
she basically said that she still loved and then you
go check your phone, op Oh, I forgot to press
record while listening to the conversation.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
That's so, it's actually kind of hurtful, and I was
feeling crappy and sort of disappointed in Ben for letting
it slide, if that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Or Riley make sure that like the phone ran out
of storage, so whenever she plays it back, it goes
up right until that point.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
That's that's that's the move.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
That's the movie. Yes, that's Tie. That's Tie. You gotta
works off that one with Matt Due.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
I will, dude, I've I really will.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Oh I love it.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
So that feeling lasted until eight am the next morning,
when this conversation happened. Ben, Hey, can I borrow your
cheap object? He often borrows niche object of Uh, seriously,
why the f are you asking me for a favor
right now?
Speaker 3 (18:20):
What are you talking about? What the f did I do?
Speaker 2 (18:22):
This is exactly when I realized that he didn't have
an efing clue. So I called him and said that
I needed to talk to you about something important and he,
and he probably reading my tone, said he could go
into work a little late and meet me up for coffee.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Here we go. Now, I've known Ben for a very
long time.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Remember they started dating when they were sixteen years old,
dated for seven years. And the minute I saw him
walking towards me and looking cheerful and pleasant. I realized
that she hadn't efing said a thing to him.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
That's probably even more genius because now OPI is gonna
confess all these things, and then Ben's gonna go to
his wife, Hey, I heard all this stuff from Opie,
and she's gonna be like, actually, what I need to
tell you is admitted it.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
That was all a lot. This is actually brilliant. So
now she doesn't have to be the one like she's like, oh,
he'll break up.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
He'll break up for me.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Not that well, that might happen too, but it's sort
of like op like went behind the bride's back said
this after they came. Like what Hannah's gonna say is
I wasn't gonna like tell her this because like she's
a close friend to us, But this is what she
actually admitted to me. I see, Yeah, so she's gonna
like twist something. She's gonna twist something.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
This is the secret conversation we had, not what she said, right.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Yeah, but that's crazy she did.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
So I realized that she hadn't said an effing thing
to him, not that he's the kind of person who
wears his emotions on his sleeve. But we went through
some rough craft together, and I know when he's putting
up a front and when he's genuinely happy. So I
casually asked him, boy, Hannah, and he says, she's fine,
And I asked if she mentioned that she and I
got together yesterday afternoon. He's basically like, no, she didn't,
(20:10):
but she was acting weird last night.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
What did you do? F?
Speaker 2 (20:13):
And E F F. I tell him exactly what I
heard over the weekend, and he was freaking shocked. Okay,
he just sat there silently listening to me telling him
about what I had overheard and then the conversation with Hannah.
When I got to the part about the text, he
asked if he could see it, so obviously I showed him.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
He just seemed totally devastated. It's tough.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
I offered to send him the recording of the conversation,
but he brushed that off, and he was being very
stoic about it, which is kind of his mo. He
said that he would take care of it, and I apologized,
and he told me that I hadn't done anything and
this was his mess, which was unfair because it wasn't
(21:02):
his fault. And I told him this He then had
to go to work and I went home bye way no, no,
I know, Kean. If you could look for an update
on this lease, I have.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Been edged so much this freaking day.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
That's so true.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Oh my gosh, who's okay? Never go ahead and let
that continue your flow, John, continue your.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Ladies and gentlemen, if you're tired of being edged with
not enough content. Boy, oh boy, do I have something
that's gonna goon your gophers. And that is two thousand
episodes of this show right here, full freaking episodes. Go
to Spotify, Apple, iHeartRadio app search okay, story time, Oh
(21:48):
I just really hurt my knuckle on my ring, and
you can find two thousand episodes for your listening pleasure.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
This is insane. I the handle that's in my head
right now. She's a mass manipulator, likes money and attention. Yes,
and she's just just using Bin for that because he
has a lot of money. She's like, dude, this is beautiful,
this is beautiful.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Yeah, this is this is insane.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
She can deny everything because we live in a digital age.
Oh yeah, boy. The voice stuff, Oh that was AI.
Don't you know she has background in that? All the
text Oh, that's all photoshop.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Hate to burst that bubble. This story is from eleven
years ago.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
So I know.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
But if I redo the movie of it.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Oh, oh, come on, you can set it like in
the eighties.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
No, no, I'm trying to sell it. I'm trying to
sell it for a mill where they can like they
don't have to go back into everything.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Let's do it in the two thousands that this is
my do it in the twenty tents. No are they anyways?
I mean, it does seem like Ben believes o P.
I mean, they have a lot of trust, so I
think there's there's no reason necess well, there is a
reason for Ben to not believe her, but I think
(23:04):
there's enough of a foundation of that relationship for her
to be trusted.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Which seems like he is.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
It seems like he's devastated and probably is going to
break up with Hannah. I mean, I think this is
is this is this story ending as good as it
possibly can. I think he ended up leaving at lunch
because I got a text from him around four saying,
broke things off. Sorry to get you involved. The wedding's
off as of right now, the wedding is off.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Not my story.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
And twenty Yeah, there's gonna be much better.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
And twenty minutes later, my mom called me to tell
me that Ben and Hannah have called off the wedding.
Though she was trying to pump me for more information
on the why who are you Leah and Lucy and
Hannah Oh God, because Ben didn't seem to want to
talk about what happened. Apparently he told my brother who's
his best friend and my brother's girlfriend. But everyone else
(23:55):
is getting the we didn't see eye to eye on everything,
and it's the it's for the best. I think Ben
basically told her that if she got the f out
of his life and never returned, he wouldn't tell everyone
exactly why they had up. I mean, as far as
endings could go, this is nice severance package. Yeah, like
(24:17):
it's It's definitely not one of the worst ways it
could end. Hannah is getting the f out of his
life so Ben can.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Heal and recover. I like.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
I like that op and Ben were able to like
he trusted her, you know, which is kind of great
and speaks to the friendship that they have and Ben
got saved yep, and Opie's life didn't get destroyed by.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
People be like, why'd you pick him up?
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Why?
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Right?
Speaker 1 (24:43):
So not not not too bad, not too bad.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Anyways, ladies and gentlemen, we have more trauma for you
in this next story.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Hey, it's sam og host. We're Gonnet back to these
delectable stories. But here's three minutes of ads from our
sponsors to help support the show.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
My ex's new girlfriend clearly doesn't like me, and it's
getting weird. M find a new friend group. My ex
and I were together for just shy of four years.
We shared bills, lived together, bought cars together, and were
raising our children together. This is like the level you're
(25:17):
living with. Nine was like level one. This was like
level two of like living together.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
That's big big.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
By the way, this comes from Queen Pandicorn, And if
you want to submit your own stories, go to our
slash Okay storytime subreddit. So he was my best friend,
but he had a hardcore video game user addiction, seven
hours on weeknights, full days on weekends, and was super neglectful.
Combined that with me being insecure and having an undiagnosed
(25:44):
at the time autoimmune disease that messed with my mood,
it did not go well. He initiated the breakup, saying
it was because he just didn't love me anymore and
he loved League of Legends, World of Warcraft and all
the other games he played more me. I agreed it
was a good idea since I was pretty unhappy at
(26:04):
that point. It was super messy at the beginning, but
we eventually got to a point where we were okay.
Just imagining him keeping the kids. It's just him playing
Minecraft for them all weekend.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Steve, Daddy, I'm hungry.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
There's chicken in the chest in the house.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Eat jacking Jackie, But Daddy, I wouldn't real food.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
Now.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
My ex is an awesome guy, but a dumpster fire
of a boyfriend, Dude, what a sentence. Part of our
arrangement when we started combining finances was that if we
broke up while I was in school only working part time,
he would pay my car payment and insurance until I graduated.
You have that in a rottenope.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Oh oh, this was his idea, and.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
It took him a month to convince me to agree
and get the car I needed. He assured me he
would stick to this agreement as he still cared for
me and my daughter and didn't want to screw us
over good. He also made it very clear that he
did not want our girls to stop spending time together
since they spent most of their lives as sisters, and
(27:09):
I fully agreed. So that was that he and I
were also on friendly terms. We still joke via text
every now and then and shout about life when I
drop off his daughter. As far as he and I go,
we are good. Neither of us want the other back,
and we are being mature about the whole situation. All right, cool,
(27:30):
you're great.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
I am.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
I love this. Hey, yeah, this is what the marriage
story movie wanted to be. Before you get married. You
have to watch has Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver and
it's a beautiful yet also very scary movie.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I have seen the hover Over trailer partially.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
If you watch it with your girl, make sure you
guys are good, rock solid, and then you watch it
and you're gonna have to probably address some things. It's
one of those movies. It is one of those movies.
It's it's it's really good, but you have to watch it.
It scared me off from getting married for a couple
of Yeah. He started dating a new chicken immediately after
(28:14):
we broke up, which hurt a little. Oh yeah, he
probably have one lined up. God, I didn't know the
game girl. Sorry, she's my discord kitten. You know about
this more than I do.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
No comment, Oh man, I'm a discord lion baby.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Oh god, oh god.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
I didn't know this woman's name, what she looked like,
or anything about her other than that she existed well.
A few weekends ago, I was driving to my exes
to feed my dogs, which are with him until I
can find a place for them something else we both
agreed on, and she happened to be sitting on the
front work. I felt super awkward and just kept driving. Now,
(29:05):
being a girl who had just gone through a breakup,
I will admit I was slightly tickled that this new
girl appeared to be larger meat than me and very frumpy. Yes,
I know, it's a petty thought to have, and her
appearance says nothing about who she is as a person.
Had only been two months since we broke up, but
I was still a bit hurt. I mean, I feel like,
(29:28):
you know, anytime anyone gets out of a break up
and sees a new person, it's like, oh my gosh,
that person wears glasses.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah, and it's it's it's a bit we can give
op a little grace here, you know, Like I will.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Say, my ex's guy does look like a Walmart version
of me though.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Like, yep, i'd say it.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
But that is how it is great value Riley. And
it took me a year and a half before I
could like come to that. I didn't even looked at
the guy. But that's what everyone says. They're like these
guys you like, it's true.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
I have seen bruf. Yeah, I concur.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
Anyways, I found a funny meme on Pinterest, two women
laughing with the text when you see his new chick
written at the bottom. I shared it to one of
my boards because it made me lol, and then it
didn't really think about it until three days later when
I get a notification that I have a comment on it.
It was some woman going off on me and I
am a fat ugly fake gold deregar.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Uh oh, I think I know who might have made
this comment.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
It's then that I realized it's my exes new girl.
I was right that she had been stalking my Pinterest
since all of my other social media is private. Oh my.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Oh man, this is not good.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Oh my gosh, that's crazy. This really creeped me out.
Since I know we all creep, but haang, don't comment
while you creep. So, fearing I would lose access to
relationship with my exes daughter and losing the friendship with
my ex, I had a fool I had formed. I
find her on Facebook and send her a message apologizing.
(31:08):
I admitted that it was childish and that I really
didn't mean anything by it. I told her I'm sure
she's a wonderful person and that I didn't mean to
hurt her feelings and let her know I didn't want
any drama with her. Well, this woman comes back with
paragraphs of insults and threats, oh saying that she's going
to make sure my daughter and I never see my
(31:30):
ex's daughter again. She admitted that she has been stalking
my social media for months and months pre breakup and
that I'm a piece of crap. Just really hardcore stuff.
Not really a sane response to an apology after an
offensive meme. Okay, you saw what I saw.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
I'm clocking what you're clocking.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
She's been stalking her for months before the breakup. Why
are you stalking her months before the breakup and why
was he so quick to get with the Maybe because.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
We were monkey branching.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Cheating, Oh, cheating too. What's monkey branching?
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Sort of like uh, when a monkey's on one branch
and he's got another one lined.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Up, Oh right, right right, so he like teas it up,
teasing up, teas it up, and then like dumps the
girl and then goes right. So like basically it's it's
manufacturing it so it looks like it's not cheating, but
it's like, bro, yeah, come on, we know what you're doing.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Come on, come on.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
So at this point I don't respond. I figure I
make an attempt to be cool. Out of my hands.
My sister informs me a week later that this woman
has started posting stuff on her Pinterest about her boyfriend's
crazy obsessive at oh No. One hundred and fifteen pins
about me, be precise, in less than twelve hours, all
(32:47):
about how she's going to beat my butt and ruin
my life.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Okay, this is getting into like get the police involved territory.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
It's it's it's quickly approaching that.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
On top of that, how she stole my man from me.
There's a lot of crazy. Again, I ignore it all. Ah,
this guy's clearly not seeing with his right head here.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Oh not at all. He's using the incorrect head, fully
incorrect head. Well.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
Another part of the agreement with my ex that my
daughter's school would retain his address as hers so she
wouldn't have to go to a new school. I get
a notification last week that my mole is being returned
with wrong addresses written on the front. I panic text
my ex and ask why he's returning my mouth since
that would probably lead to my daughter having to transfer schools.
(33:35):
Oh yeah, dude, every single agreement that you've ever had
with this man center out the window. Gone.
Speaker 5 (33:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
He assures me that he's not. That came from my toe.
Oh my gosh, through that was good. It just traveled
all the way up up your body. I felt it.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Yeah, Riley had a deep guttural, full body traveled burp.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
Wow. He assures me that he's not. I wonder who is.
Then he says he hasn't seen much mail come for
me in the last couple of weeks. All I can
think is that she's intercepting my mail when she's over
there every night and returning it because she doesn't want
me involved with my ex and at this point has
the potential to hurt my child.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
Mmm, good point not to mention.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
After seeing a picture of this woman, I found out
I did know her. She used to follow me around
my gym. Also, my ex is Jim giving me dirty
looks and saying stuff under her breath at me. She
actually made me so uncomfortable that I switched gems. The
creepy gym stalking started eight months ago, five months before
(34:43):
the breakup.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Dude, he cheated, he cheated, We got.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
We got an actual stalker here, yes, big old stock
Oh yeah, oh yes, like like this is this is
full full stockerage. I haven't mentioned any of this to
my ex as I am concerned he will think I'm
making it up, or that she'll convince him that I'm
trying to break them up and he'll cut me off
from his daughter. But I'm really concerned. He's canceled my
(35:09):
plans to see his daughter this weekend. It's that he
didn't know when he'll have time for us to see her.
My daughter is devastated, she misses her sister.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Ah.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
My concern is at this point that this woman's obsession
is escalating. This has all happened in lass than three weeks.
Aside from the months of gym stalking. We went from
an overreaction to a meme distealing my mail and keeping
me from seeing the child I help raise for the
last four years. What did I do? Do? I keep
(35:41):
remaining silent in hopes she'll calm down. What if she
escalates further? Should I talk to my ex and let
him know what has been going on? Or am I
stressing over nothing? I don't know. The whole thing just
feels really crazy and wrong, and I feel like I'm stuck.
It'll make me sick to think think that I may
never ever see his daughter again, and my daughter will
(36:03):
lose her best friend. Any constructive advice or suggestions would
be appreciated. We got an update six months later. Oh, John,
what's the first step we're taking here? Bro?
Speaker 2 (36:16):
This is a tricky one because, like she said, it's
kind of like a minefield right now, where you don't
want to lose contact with the daughter. You don't want
to kind of tip tip her off and have her
take any more drastic action.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
So very very careful.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
I wonder if there's other people potentially I think this
could be a great person ex's mom who basically like
a former mother in law and being like, hey, this
is like your grandchildren are in danger. Yeah, now, like
this woman is like legitimately crazy. Can you help me
find a way to like truly tell him and maybe
(36:51):
maybe the his mom can like sit him down and
be like, hey, here's everything that's happening. We need to
be careful so as not to tip her off and
taorco super crazy, but figure out a plan to like
kind of get her out of your life because she
seems dangerous.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Yes, I agree with that. I'm gonna need to know
more about how this relationship started. Dot the X be like, hey,
like I have a few things that I left at
your house and I grab them. Can I get the dogs?
You find your new place, you get the dogs, and
you'll be like I just want to see you talk
to him. Hey we broke up. I'm not gonna be
mad at you, But when did the start? So I
can Yeah, I find it out.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Yeah, address the potential cheating later. Right now, it's just
like getting him and the kids out of that.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Yeah, because the girl started like she switched because of
this girl, Yeah, which gems and it was it happened
eight months ago, eight months ago, they broke up five
months ago. So let's say like they met each other. Well,
let's I guess, go back to break up point. Here's
a breakup point, yep, five months before the breakup. What
if they met each other like three months before the
(37:56):
breakup or four months before the breakup like this one
was around the guy didn't even know, and then she
like basically figured out a way to get into the
guy's head. Or did the guy here's a breakup. Did
the guy and the girl meet like six like a
year before the breakup and then it was That's where
then it.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Evolved into the full blown cheating.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
And then I would probably guess, Yeah, they like met
way before even the gym stocking happened, and by the
time the gym stocking was happening, they were in a
full blown cheating relationship.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
Yeah. Also, anytime I hear a crazy story like this happened,
I feel like Keon has somehow experienced it or has
been a part of this in some way, shape or form.
Definitely seen a friend go through this.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
Yeah, no comment, Just give me something not like a stalker.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
M I'm telling you what, He's a walking Rdit story.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
Oh boy, wow, I have to go in like the
deep canals of my brain to think that I don't
think I had a stalker. I think my friend did
have a stalker where it was like it's kind of weird.
I think, yeah, I think it was in college and
like this one girl would follow a buddy freshman year
(39:09):
in the dorms and like knock on his door, and like,
I think they got married. Though it's very weird. I
wasn't friends with this guy. This guy it was like
a he was like he lived across from my room,
and it was just very weird. It was very weird.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
Wow, I don't even remember the guy's name, but all
I remember was like, I don't want to have anny
trouble with this guy. I don't want to be including
with this guy because guess what, Oh, Carly had a stalker.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Did you have a stalker. I have a stalker, But
it's not really that big of a she's gone now.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
There was someone in high school that I'm sure was
like pulling a prank on me. Okay, yeah, they were like, oh,
I know where your dresser is in your room.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
I don't like your high school experience. High school experience
scares me.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
That's the normal day. That's just the day that ends
in why and run.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
From a gator? You get a stocker. It's par for
the course. Brother.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
But we got the update right here.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Please, I'm so curious. Hey, it's Sean here. We're gonna
get back to this episode. But a quick three minute
break with aswer more sponsors update.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
What's been six months and I think an update my
post is in order. You were all correct. They were cheating,
no monkey branches at all, cheating. John called it. She
was cheating on her husband. Now my ex was cheating
on with me, double cheating yep. For months. Evidently, he
would go to her office on his lunches and do
(40:35):
her on her desk.
Speaker 5 (40:37):
She would oh no, she would explore with her taste
buds in his car the Jim parking lot a lot.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
You would sneak her into my house while I was
asleep and mess around with her super with the kids.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Dude, jail, jail.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
I'm more just grossed out than her. Like. We didn't
stop being spicy related activities until about two weeks after
the breakup. After the breakup, two weeks after he had
told me. At one point he still loved me and
had gotten confused and wanted to work it out, so
he was sleeping with her at the same time as me. Ick. So,
(41:22):
since I just found out, I made an appointment to
get checked lovely. When I found out, I texted him
and told him I didn't want to speak to him anymore.
And even though I loved his daughter like my own,
I can't see his daughter anymore. I don't want my
kid around him, and I don't think I can see
him without wanting to hit him. Oh and I know
(41:43):
growing up it's gonna be like, why can I see sister?
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Let me tell you why I little Billy, I'm not
gonna tell you, but not doing it.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
It's Bill at Hey, Billy could be a girl.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
Oh yeah, okay, story Billy. I forgot about that. Me
and my am I traditional man mail's name conventions. Gotta
get out of my head, how dare you? I've also
definitely lost my temper after finding that out, and said
some very not nice things about their life choices. Whoops. Anyways,
(42:17):
I'm in the process of cutting the last couple of
times to him. Now he met his girlfriend at our gym.
We all still go there. I have been going there
for years, and we all have gone at different times,
so it's never been an issue. I literally haven't run
into either of them at the gym since we broke
up ten months ago. And by the way, you don't
(42:38):
ever have to break up with us. Where do you
go after the story?
Speaker 1 (42:42):
John? Spotify Apple iHeartRadio apps.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
And look up these beautiful eleven letters, okay, story time
and there it'll be impossible for you to ever break
up with us because we got thousands of hours as
of the stories waiting for you. Yes, last little bit, John,
do you think that the AX is gonna still pay
for Opie's car payments?
Speaker 2 (43:05):
I mean maybe, but like it sounds like and I
totally agree with op on this. It's like it's not
worth it, like just just cut the ties, like like
I get it.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
She's like, dude, you you betrayed me again. Put put our.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Kids in danger, put me in danger of like potential diseases.
Like so there's there's there's so many things. Now now
she's stalking me. Who knows what she'll do. Like I
can totally see her being like you were look at
all the damage you've caused. You're not the person I
thought you were the cheating, So I just I just
need to get away from you. Now, I totally get it.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
I would do that. Also, I would probably either write
a letter to the daughter or keep tabs on the
daughter because one he's super neglectfool. Yeah, that's why they
broke up in the first place too. Having this new
person around the kid where she stalked you, do you
think she's gonna be really nice to the daughter? Mmm,
I'm gonna have to call the good old CPS. I mean,
(44:04):
not harmfully, but just like if you see anything.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
Yeah, probably if they can't like keep an eye on
the situation, that would be ideal.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
And to be like, hey, you can't take care of
her anymore, I'll take her in.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (44:19):
No, one hundred percent. Yeah, it sounds like OP would
be would would want to and be willing.
Speaker 1 (44:22):
To do that.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
So again, if we can get like the mother in
law or someone involved too, I think that could be
potentially good.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
But also yeah, yeah, it's this is a lot.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
This is yeah, not what opis for, that's for sure,
or deserves at all.
Speaker 3 (44:39):
Well, about a week after I found everything out, I'm
at the gym and his girl comes at me like
she's trying hard to start something, screaming and causing a scene,
getting in my face. I just ignore her doing my cardio.
The owner eventually came and punted her out.
Speaker 1 (44:56):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (44:56):
Let's just say she doesn't go to my gym anymore
and I I'm in the process of feeling a cease
insist for intimidation. Perfect, So yeah, that's about it.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
Wow wow, wow, wow, bro dude, this is a crazy episode,
back to back crazy stories.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
Just call me Jen.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
I was having a rough day then I remembered I
have y'all. Just call me Jen, my heart.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
