who left their homes to follow the promise of America
and a dream historically kept just out of reach for

That's my mom talking about the year that changed everything.
When millions of immigrants living in the US illegally and

their children stepped out of the shadows. They were afraid
of Lama, they were afraid of grades. People would run
away and they would hide. But in one stroke of
a pen changed the nation, allowing millions of immigrants and

their children and their children's children to plan roots in
this country. That's when President Ronald Reagan signed Erica, an
immigration reform bill that would be considered radical today. Like
if that never happened, like I would not be doing
what I do. I'm grateful for the amnesty, and also
I'm aware that that didn't fix everything. I have the

same rights as the president of the same right, we'll
dive deep into the complicated legacy of a president who
became an unexpected savior to some three million undocumented immigrants.
My mom loved Ronald Reagan. She prays for him all
the time. I mean, I think Ronald Reagan was the devil.
We weren't supposed to come out of the shadows, but
