Speaker 1 (00:00):
The guys from Ping. They've kind of showed me how
much the equipment matters. I just love that I can
hit any shot I kind of want.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
We're gonna be able to tell some fun stories about
what goes on here to help golfers play better golf.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Hey, everybody, welcome back to the Pink Proven Grounds Podcast.
I'm Shane Bacon. That's Marty Jerts and Marty. First things first,
your shirt is looking sharp. If you're not watching this
on YouTube, that is a new polo.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
My man, dude, I'm loving this. This showed up at
my desk, one of our new pink shirts, and I
put it on this morning. My kiddos were like, hey,
I've never seen that shirt. I'm getting some good reactions.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Dad is cool. Man.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
That's like the you know, I'm wearing the Carston stuff
and this is not like we're not trying to plug
a plug within a plug, but the Carston shirts. I
think I get more compliments on these than anything else
I'll wear. People are I think they like the fabrics
so class. You never kind of you never dove into
that world. At least give it a look, Marty. Today
we're going to talk about virtual fitting. Which is very
interesting because on this podcast plenty of times we've talked
(00:55):
about the importance of fittings. Yep, and I think you
and I probably would push people to go see somebody
and to get fit in person. But it feels like
virtual fittings are kind of making a comeback obviously. I
mean we've all been on the computers and the zooms
and things like that the last few years kind of
COVID and beyond. Does it feel like virtual fittings or
making a slight comeback in your world?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, And I'll give you a few reasons why, Shane.
I mean, I guess just to go to the history
of the virtual right, yeah. Right. During COVID, you know,
I helped spin up a little process for us called telefitting,
and it was just a great way during that what
was it like, March April, May June of twenty twenty
time frame for us to connect our fitters with golfers
(01:38):
that are just twiddling their thumbs at their house, like,
but they still want to do Yeah, they still want
to talk equipment. They're interested in getting equipment, and and
so we could have some great conversations with them. But
even in the five years since then, Shane. A lot
more golfers have launch monitors at home, right, whether it's
a whether it's a rap Sodo or a Mevo Plus,
(02:00):
or maybe you sprung for a quad or maybe maybe
even you got a track Man simulator stack stack. Yeah,
you got the stack radar in there to get your
clubhead speed numbers. But it's just it's so much easier now,
even from five years ago, to go get your launch
condition numbers. I mean most clubs now have built you know,
(02:22):
a lot of clubs have built a simulator bay, right.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
And so now has three. By the way, mind, do
they really three?
Speaker 3 (02:30):
I mean, you know, granted, you know, we don't play
off for what four and a half five months, so
you gotta have something to do.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah. I mean in the Northeast, it's super popular to
build out two or three bays, rent them out, use
them in the winter, go practice, teachers can teach in there.
I know a lot in the Northeast they clear out
their pro shop and do putter fittings in there, right,
or put a bay in in the in the winter time.
So yeah, I think it's it's it's just such a
(02:56):
different time now that you can get launch condition numbers.
Yourself as a golfer. Right, it's not quite as out
of touch as it used to be. And so if
you bring those numbers to us, we can now unlock
a really great conversation with you over the phone or
over zoom. In this process we call virtual fitting, and
(03:22):
you can get direct access to everything that's like in
our copilot tools, et cetera.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Marty, is this the most knowledgeable golfers have ever been?
Like personally knowledgeable?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
You know?
Speaker 3 (03:32):
I mean you think about the options out there, all
the apps. I mean, we've talked with plenty of people
over the years on this podcast that have a number
of systems in terms of practicing or prepping, and you
mentioned all the at home stuff as well.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Is this the.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Smartest golfers I've ever been about what they do on
the golf course?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah? Yeah, at least there's there's more tools to They
have more data than ever. And then I think in
order for them to be smarter than ever, you have
to know, like every golfer turns into a little bit
of an engineer now, or you gotta you gotta know
how to filter the data. You have to know what
data maybe is less important or you can ignore, right,
(04:12):
just because you have all kinds of data doesn't mean
you're necessarily smarter, but it passes this little bit of
a burden. It passes this little bit of a burden
to the golfer to figure out, Okay, what data is important,
what what is actionable? And what do I do with it?
And that's where we can help with this virtual fit
is is help you know, Let's say you are collecting
(04:34):
tons of data through on course stats and and launch
monitor stuff and everything else, but you're unsure what to
do right, like the data overload, and that's really where
we can help with this virtual fit process.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
All right, so I come to you, malreaty to get
virtually fit. Can you walk me through the process of
how it goes from basically you know, the introduction to
to I mean, are you watching my golf swing? Are you?
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Are you? Is it? Like? Is that the process of it?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
So yeah, So what we do is, Shane, is you
just book it directly, You book a time and you
get you get third on it. Book it online just
just Google ping virtual fit or navigate to it from
the fitting section of our website there and then you'll
book a time and we'll send you basically a checklist
of things to do ahead of time to get the
(05:22):
most out of it, and so you'll have a little
homework to do. Now you don't, it's this is all optional.
So let's say you just want to have a little
more casual conversation. You can't get on a launch monitor,
but but you do know what clubs you're playing, in
your specs and things of that nature. You can have
a very great experience and we'll walk. Depend on what
part of your bag or your equipment you want to
(05:43):
talk about or learn about, we'll have a great conversation
about it. That being said, Shane, I think in order
to get the most out of this and and our
folks who've had a really great experience is they go
get your driver in seven iron launch conditions. So whether
that's your buddy's got a SIM down your neighbor down
(06:06):
the street's got a SIM and you can go do it,
or your club has it, or you can go to
a to maybe a rent an hour at one of
the indoor places and get a bay, or you gotta
launch moneit your home. However you gonna do it. If
you can go get your driver and seven iron ball
speed launch and spin, you will have a magical experience
chain because with that data, we can take you through
(06:27):
the gapping app and talk about what the longest iron
you should play is, what are your gaps going to be,
how should you build the top end of your bag?
If you have your driver launch conditions, we'll take you
through our copilot tool of launch efficiency and talk about
how much yard is you might be leaving on the
table and if you can, if you can also get
your angle of attack with the driver, that's that's kind
(06:49):
of some icing on the cake there from a tool standpoint.
And then everyone who goes through our virtual fit you
also get a ball fitting because we'll take you, we'll
guide you through and walk you through ball namic and
figure out again how to marry some golf ball options
UH to your UH to the rest of your rest
of your bag. And one thing that's super helpful on
(07:12):
this virtual fitting process Shane, is we can help golfers
who play in different conditions. So if you're playing different
altitude altitudes, maybe maybe you're going to go on a
golf trip over to Scotland or something and you want
to know what golf ball to play or you want
to put in maybe a I d I you think
about maybe putting in an id I for the trip
book a book. It come with some launch conditions and
(07:34):
you will have a great time with our with our
master fitters walking you through these tools.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
You know, I need to do ballnamic. I. I just
got a lesson I think last week, week before last,
and a lot of the numbers were great, but the
spin was up, and my instructor was telling me that
that a ball switch might like to to maybe the
pro V versus the X might help bring those numbers down.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
I need to book.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I need to book a ball namicuting with somebody because
I feel like like you stay on top of this
stuff so much, but then there's like little things like
I think, this is what's so incredible at modern fitting
is I would consider myself and you know, a knowledgeable
person about equipment, right, I mean, we've talked so much
about it on the podcast. I try to keep up
to date on everything that's going on. I try out
(08:20):
a lot of stuff loft the woods.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
IDI.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
I've got an extremely mixed bag right now, which is
really fun. I think I've got four irons currently in
the bag, which is the first time I've ever seen
that in my life. But you know, it's even with
all of the knowledge, I still there's still a little
piece that I haven't touched on. And that's am I
playing the right ball for optimum distance and spin and
all that stuff with the driver and so you know,
it's it's like even if you, like you said earlier,
(08:45):
with somebody at home, even with all the information, it
helps to have a teacher kind.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Of walk you through all that. What all that means?
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah, exactly, Shane. You're your example of like working on
your swing, and maybe you've worked on your swing. You're
tweaking a few things, but it's not like you need
a whole new driver fit after that, right, you just
need it. You just need to tweak Like maybe your
spin popped up. Maybe you picked up like even if
you have the same delivery, Shane, like the same dynamic
loft angle of attack, and you just pick up five
(09:13):
miles an hour clubhead speed and maybe you're working on
that through speed training or maybe you're working on that
with your coach and doing some biomechanical things to pick
up speed. Your spin's gonna go up, like it'll go
up a couple hundred rpm, and that's enough to warrant
a ball switch. That's a great example of where it's like, Okay,
what threshold do I maybe tweak my hozzle setting? Or
do I change golf ball or maybe it's a little
(09:35):
bit of both, right, And working on your swing with
your instructor is a great use case for that.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Yeah, it's funny too.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I mean you go out with like the guy I
work with has like the foresight system, right, like the
advance you know, the heavy duty guy and the amount
of information that things spits back. I remember the guy
I used to work with in Arizona was a track
man guy. And even once you understand the numbers, there
are times where I I can look at the numbers
myself and go, oh, you know, I'm seeing you know X,
(10:04):
Y and Z. Maybe I need to add a little loft,
Maybe I need to take a little bit of loft off. Like,
there are certain things once you start to grasp what
all of that information. And it's a lot of information, right,
I mean, that's why there's advanced instructors that know what
it all means. But once you dive into that stuff,
there are things you can do yourself and and things
you can mess around with you know, once you get
perfectly fit to like optimize all you have, when things
(10:25):
start to change, conditions change, maybe your swing speed changes
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, exactly, Shane, exactly. So yeah, I think just uh,
you know, and that's something our fitters are are very
well versed with. If you book a virtual fitting is
you know, there's there's a lot of different use cases.
We're seeing a lot of international folks, maybe folks who
are remote, Shane and they have a hard time. Maybe
they got to drive a long ways to a metro
(10:51):
area to to go find one of our fitters. And
and we're coming not too far away here, easing into
fall winter timeframe where if you're kind of you're jones
in for a little bit of a golf I want
to scratch the itch and have a conversation about you're
kind of looking back at your golf season. You're trying
(11:13):
to trying to look at your shortcomings. Maybe you're reviewing
your stats or some things and some tournaments you played
in or playing with your buddies where you need to improve.
I mean, all of our fitters are are Pink Proving
Ground certified. They're all golfers. And then if you bring
those launch coitions in with us and have a really
good grasp of what you're currently playing, what's in your
(11:34):
bag currently, shafts, lanks, you know some other details there
on swingway and things of that nature. You can get
an absolute great jump start to understanding what clubs you
might want to look at. And the way I like
to use the virtual fit Shane and I tell my
my friends and buddies is do this before you go in,
and then and then uh do it do a dynamic
(11:56):
fit on a launch monitor. So this is like a
great practice round. This is like playing three practice rounds
before your major. Else that, yeah, you're gonna be that's
a really good analogy. You're gonna be super prepared and
be able to go in and have a great experience
when you go in and try some configurations.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
You know something, you said something interesting there about the
pink fitters. I was gonna ask you a little bit
about the pink fitters and who goes through the process here,
and you said they're all golfers. You know what I've
always loved about the guys and girls I've worked with
at Ping over the years in terms of fitting is
they're like really good therapist about your golf game. It's
very blunt, it's very honest. You know, they're not there
to glow you up or to push you down. They're
(12:39):
there to simply help you in terms of what they're
what you're looking for, and what we're all looking for
is to get better at golf. Right the end of
the day, we want the numbers to be lower. Right,
we want our number on the card and on the
gin to be a little bit lower than it was.
And I always love the fact that everybody I've ever
encountered at the proving grounds is a golfer. They're golfers
who love golf and enjoy golf. They understand what you can.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Do to improve as well.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Like I always talk to fitters about how much do
you throw instruction into fitting, you know, because it's such
a hard balance to you know, you see something they're
doing and you know if they change one thing, but
you also don't want to be their instructor. But I
do feel like the team at Ping does a great
job of understanding it is okay at times to throw
a little note in about the attack angle or where
(13:25):
the ball is in terms of like like placement between
your feet, like I do love that. They they all
want you.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
To be better even if you don't get a new
golf club.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah, totally shame. Yeah, No, I'm actually a big fan
of that. And it's on our pyramid of skill development
of our fitters is the most elite fitters that we
have are great at throwing in that little nudge of
instruction right. And it could be very simple. It could
be you're somebody's never been on track, man, and their
(13:55):
angle of attack is four degrees down right and their
swing directions left and they're teeing the ball low right.
So it's like the most simple thing, man, t that
ball higher and and and swing until this number turns positive.
Can't go it, baby, We're gonna get there. And that works.
That works wonders because when people swing more up, they
(14:15):
also will change swing more right and maybe all of
a sudden they came in with the low spinny's weak
glancy slice and uh and now they're swinging right and
hitting up on it and hanging it further and we
fit them for that, right. So uh. But yeah, whether
it's grip, ball positions, stance in putting, it's a really
big deal, Shane, as you know, looking at eye position
(14:37):
set up where you are you gripping the lifeline or
more in the fingers and the impact of that on
your biomechanics so you're putting. But yeah, the most skilled
fitters know the right way to sprinkle in a little
bit of teaching. We always want to be mindful of
somebody's working with a coach, right, to make sure we're
working kind of complimentary.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Right.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
It's like not bringing your own trainer to the gym, right,
there's other trainers that are work in there and trying
to help out. I wanted to ask you a question
kind of a slight tangent to this. You're a really
good golfer. If you go play golf with random people
or you're playing a pro am style event something like that,
you know, like guys and girls are going to look
up to your game, Right, how do you balance instruction
(15:17):
on the golf course with people that you've never met
before and you'll never see again, you know, because you
see stuff yourself like do you wait till they ask?
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Are you willing to say? Hey?
Speaker 3 (15:26):
I'd like to tell you one thing, like how do
you balance.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
That my style? Oh, Man, Shane, that's a great question.
I kind of my head first went to you would
probably have a similar experience in your caddy days. You know,
I could see maybe caddying at the all place, like
should I tell them?
Speaker 1 (15:41):
I would lie to them.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I'd lie to the player sometimes, you know, with every
iron short, it's like, all right, well, I'm bumping this
number of fifteen yards.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Oh yeah, I just heard Steve Williams with those quotes
about Tiger. I mean, you know, like, oh, I tell
Tiger was seven yards shorter because his adrenaline was up.
I'm like, okay, I gotta I need a fact check
that a little bit.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
But but yeah, no on green reading, you know, you're
you're like, Okay, I really know this putt breaks five feet,
but I gotta kind of tell this guy breaks too, otherwise.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
He's gonna be missing a mile to the right. But
on the instruction side, I don't know. I guess my approach,
Shane is always usually like if a pattern is happening,
for maybe I'm playing eighteen whole pro am with somebody,
and if I see a pattern happy and they're really
struggling after seven, eight, nine holes, I might I might
jump in there and intervene. And then uh, and then
(16:31):
at the end, I'll give a little punch list of
things to do. I always doing it right at the end,
we're shaking hands, we're signing scorecards, we're having the niceties
and be like, oh man, I would love to see
I think it could really help your game if you
did X, Y and Z. That's kind of bend my style.
Maybe one tip during the round and then pour on
a little punch list at the end.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
It's it's really hard to tell somebody something mid round,
especially if the person isn't a great golfer, because they
always air so deep on the other side. So even
if they ask, I'm hitting my three would right, and
you see what they're doing, and I'm not agree.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
That's not my world.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
I'm not great in terms of I'm not an instructor,
Like I barely know what I do with my own
golf swing. But there are times where you see just
that you know the way they're taking it in or
their feed or their their alignment, and you want to
say something, but you know the moment you say something,
then they're going to air so so hard on the
other side. So it's it's such a like this this
feels like a whole other podcast.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
We could have.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
It's like, how do you handle the golfer asking you
stuff out on the golf course.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
But I just wanted to get your ears a great topic.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Another another thing I wanted to ask about is demo
day because demo day is something that obviously is presented
out there by everybody, and it's something that you know,
every country club and stuff has have companies come through
and OEMs come through. When when there's a demo day
at a club that's provided, is that worth going to
to get checked out and to get fit for golf
clubs as well.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yeah, I think a demo day, a demo day can
be very useful if you the golfer, the consumer, yourself,
are empowered and educated, go into it. So hopefully, like
the folks listen to our pod, they're they're they're the
folks that are getting getting all the juice they can
and all the knowledge and all the tips and tricks
to try to get that little jump start. Yeah, we
we we most certainly love like the one on one
(18:15):
fitting events where we can really dial in the golfer,
But demo days still exist, They're still valuable. It's a
good chance to go kind of try everything quickly. Maybe
do maybe kind of uh uh, see what everything is
out there, and then go in and get your launch
conditions and everything dialed. We now though, Shane, I'll tell
you what man with. With our co pilot tools, if
our fitters or our sales reps or our tech reps
(18:37):
are at a demo day, you can actually get a
high quality fitting in a pretty short amount of time,
right because you can. Again, maybe maybe you don't have
time in that demo day kind of environment to hit
all the high lofted fairwy woods and crossovers everything and
see what's right, but we can. You can hit some
seven irons with our AFS club, our fitters can punch
(18:58):
them into co pilot and we can build your higher
bag out right there. But I think the advice for
consumers if you're going to a demo day is try
to do your homework ahead of time, like be as
prepared as possible, you know. Again, kind of going back
to the virtual fit that'd be a great one if
you got to. If you've got a demo day coming up,
book a virtual fitting with us first and then have
(19:18):
your your specs exactly what you want to try, the
questions you want to ask when you go hit these
clubs already really well prepared to go into that.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yeah, I mean it's like the options seem endless, you know,
going back for a moment just to the virtual side
of things. I mean just kind of like if we're
gonna go down bullet points, like how long are people
going to need for a virtual fitting? Will they need
their full bag? Do they need to be able to
make golf swings? Like will you just kind of walk
us through if I called you to ask you how
(19:48):
it was going to go down, can you just kind
of give us the bullet points on on you mentioned
where to sign up, but just you know, basically it's
like I want to do this, What do I need
to expect?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yep, just just book with us. You do not need
video your swing, so it's you know, some things are
like kind of mandatory, and then there's nice to have
bonus things. So you don't need to have a video
your swing. You don't need launch conditions, but they're nice
to have if you can get them right. You can
be on video. If you're not comfortable with it, we'll
(20:17):
just we'll just talk to you audio only, so you
don't need to be intimidated by being on the camera
or dressing up nice or doing anything there. But a
lot of people just nice casual conversation in their house, home, office,
lunch break at work or what have you. Right, if
you know the specs of your clubs, those are fantastic
to bring it, bring with you and we can help
you on any area of your bag. So if you
(20:39):
want to spend thirty minutes Shane our standard deployments thirty minutes.
If you want to spend thirty minutes talking only about
your putter and putting, we'll do that if you want to.
If you want to split the time and talk about
your whole bag and we'll gap your whole bag, we'll
do that if you want to. If you got driver
numbers and you only care about maximizing distance and getting
(21:00):
the right kind of combination of specs there for your driver,
we'll focus only on that. So kind of how what
topics we talk about in your bag is up to you.
How we split that time, and the more more information
you bring to us, it's a bonus, but none of
it is really required. Like you know, if you have
encore stats bonus, if you've got launch conditions bonus, video
(21:22):
your swing, you can you can send to us your
putting stroke. That's that stuff's all a bonus, but you
can have a great experience without any of it.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Yeah, I mean, it's it seems as though, again people
listening to this podcast, you know, they want to get
better at golf, they probably also understand the importance of fitting.
It is still wild to me that there's people out
there that still don't get fit.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
You know.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
It's it's just such a there's so many keys, and
to me it seemed like virtual fitting, as you mentioned,
kind of waned maybe five, eight, ten years ago to
the one on one experience.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
And now it seems like just just make it a
little easier on. Everybody is going to bring more equal
to this process. And as you said a moment ago,
you can do this first and then go you know,
you know, get you know, dig into the dirt.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yes, exactly. Yeah, a couple of different use cases for it,
you know, do it first us as your practice round,
then go out or maybe Shane, you're a you're a
you know I series iron player and you got the
I two tens and maybe you skipped a skipped a
generation of two or two and now you see our
two forties come out. Uh, maybe you've aged a little bit,
maybe lost a little club at speed, not hit it
(22:29):
quite as higher.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
And you did pointed me or you pointed me to
lose shades.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
I mean, I don't know what's going on. I mean,
how old are you? Show me your numbers? Man?
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Forty one? Numbers might be going down. Numbers might be
going down. God, but that I gotta do more leg
Gotta do more legs. Man like day, gotta add a
leg day, I think, tell your coach you gotta you
gotta use the ground.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
A little more. Get into the ground. Let's push off
saw hit style.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Yeah, you gotta spike your verticals a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
Shane.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
You gotta see you jumping out there. But maybe maybe
you're maybe you maybe you skipped a few generations of
I series irons and you see the two forties come out.
They look sweet. You already know your color code, You're
comfortable with your shaft, You're not necessarily looking for a
shaft change. And you're like, man, should I do these
power retro? What's the longest I should play? How do
(23:16):
I blend them in my bag? You are a perfect
candidate to do a virtual fit and they kind of
know your specs. You know a lot of people, you know,
I think this whole idea everyone's got to get fit
one hundred percent of the time I kind of agree with.
But sometimes if you're looking for you already know your
color code, you're already comfortable with your shaft, You're not
yearning for something new. You can just kind of have
(23:38):
this kind of consultation on some of those key questions
of fitting, which is which is building your bag, longest iron,
launch conditions, power versus retro. One of the other fun
use cases for TE for virtual fishing is you get
total complete access to copilot and our fitter will guide
(23:59):
you through it. I know wealked a lot about all
of our fun cool tools and Pink Copilot, and you
know our consumers don't have direct access to to that directly.
You got to kind of go through one of our
fitters to guide you through it. Virtual fit is that unlock.
It's our direct pipeline to Pink co Pilot. And one
of the fun tools in there is our shaft app,
(24:21):
which we catalog all of our shafts. We give really
good shaft recommendations, and one of our most popular features
of shaft app chain is this shaft finder which matches
like maybe you're playing like an old Aldola Envy or
a pro Launch or something you used to like in
the past, and you've got it back out and you
(24:42):
hit it, you're like, oh, I like to feel of
this shaft. We can we can look up in that
database and match you to a contemporary version that's available.
So that's a great one for virtual fitting because so
many people out there have that favorite shaft that they
always like to feel of, and we're a big fan
of that. You know how it feels in transition, so
(25:03):
we can match you to an old, favorite legacy shaft
as well.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Marty.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
It sounds like you and I are going to tell
people they should get fit.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
That's what it's saying.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
I mean, like, call us crazy year, but I think
you should probably get fit.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
I love that virtuals back.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
I just again, I think it's an awesome maybe not back,
but popular again. It feels like, you know, with with
with everything you guys have been working on, and how
many kind of apps and and shortcuts I guess that
are available through paying these days, going virtual does make
a lot of sense. And I love what you said.
I mean if you're really committed to the game. I
tell people this all the time. If you love golf,
(25:40):
you're spending thousands of dollars a year on your game,
like whether it's a country club or you're playing weekly
at your you know, municipal club or public course.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
You're hitting range balls, you're buying.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
Stuff like you need to commit a few hundred bucks
to make sure the equipment you're playing is right for you,
because it's gonna matter so much more than any anything
else you do to yourself. Is like getting instruction and
getting lessons is important, but starting out kind of with
the foundation of what golf is and making sure the
stuff in your bag is appropriate for who you are.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
It's just such an easy way to make the game
a little bit easier.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Yeah. Yeah, And what I love about this, Shane, is
we say go get fit, But the question is to
the golfer, where do I go? Like you know, and
so you go to your if you're a member at
a country club, maybe you got a good a good
fitter there, right, Uh, do you go to your retail store?
So this is the question is where do I go
(26:34):
to get fit? And we train our fitters out there,
so your call to action there for for golfers listening
is you know, book a virtual fit with us uh
in go to ping dot com and use our find
a Fitter tool. So you go type in your zip
code and you'll get a list of fitters. We have
different certifications, badging, We even catalog what equipment they have,
(26:59):
what launch moon or do they have are they Pink
proving grounds certified? Are they copilot users? And so that's
the best way to go to go figure out the
best spot to get fit. But definitely encourage somebody. You know,
fitting is a spectrum. It's not a binary thing. Did
I get fit yes or no? It's you know, what
tools did I have? What was the experience like? And
(27:20):
there is kind of a pyramid there, and certainly we're
excited to bring virtual fitting back and use that as
a great starting point foundation, easy access, not intimidating. You know,
we don't have any want to look into your swing.
If you're a female golfer just getting into the game,
if you're a parent and you want to talk about
Prodigy and building that bag, those are certainly great options
(27:42):
for the virtual fit experience as well.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Awesome stuff, Marty, this is awesome. I love diving into
these types of topics, and I think people out there
like it as well.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
That is virtual fitting.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
