Speaker 1 (00:18):
Donut donut one in the sky.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
That's actually funny.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
You're like a huge, huge donut, you're the donut in
then you're right.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Oh my god, I'm glad we figured this out. It
only took us thirty five years.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Five years. Wow.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Well, welcome to the post Backstreet Boys Pod meets World
Episode b bs B, p BSB, PBSB Baby at Sphere.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
We were at sphere.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I've been saying, we've been saying sphere, and it's not.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
It's not the sphere.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
It's Backstreet Boys or.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
The back Streets, back Street Boys that sphere, back Street
seven time wrapping around that one, right right, or back Street.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Boys that sphere.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
So this was our second time at sphere, Yeah, my
third time, but your second time at sphere? How did
you think the Backstreet Boy sorry, how did you think
Backstreet Boys at sphere? Compared to Dead and Co At Sphere?
Very different experiences, very different, right.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Well, this one was much more I mean okay, this
one was much more about them, yes, I mean yeah,
and a story like or our journey of.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Sorts, whereas uh, Dead and Co. Was like about.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
And Jammy sort of like you almost forgot the band
was there through some songs and just let the music. Yeah,
this one was like them on stage. You're constantly like, oh.
They were also projected on stage, but.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Not as much as That's one of the things that
they had a problem with is because you know, they're
singing and they're dancing, and I'd like to see some
more of the singing and the dancing. So as I'm
looking up at being in space, which is great, but
I would also like to see them singing and dancing more.
Whereas you know, when John was playing or you're watching
Dead and co play, they were projecting it a lot
in a certain area, so you could watch the visuals,

(02:07):
but then you're watching them jam, and I thought that
was kind of more conducive to the experience.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Uh, it's just but there's certain bands that we talked
about on that last episode, Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead.
There are bands that lend themselves to visuals. And I
didn't know how back it was like Backstreet Boys are
going to do this, But it was great.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
It was a lot of fun. It really was.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
I thought the stage rising up at the end wasn't
that insane.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
It was literally like that they are real right.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
On the screen for so long that I was like,
they're actually they are actually the way up the building,
Like it's.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
I would never be able to do that.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Really, I do not like heights.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
So the idea that I have to sing and dance
on a platform that's raising what one hundred feet above
the ground.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
You're not the only one, Brian is not the one.
You're I'm so glad you're giving me that segway, But
first I want to say yes, Brian is also afraid
of heights. He was in the middle and had a
post that he could lean against, and up until last
night he actually had a bar in front of him.

(03:13):
I had a post behind them that they're connected to.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
M hmm. The whole stage would have to rise around.
As I stayed in the middle on the ground, you're
really high.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
It was very high, and then you got to sing
and dance when you're and Kevin like got to the
edge and was like looking down at people.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
I was like, oh, sir, well, I I can't believe
we've gone this far into the episode. Writer without discussing
the commitment of one mister will Fredell to being sixth.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
Man six sixth member of the backs of Baxtery.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Voice, we need to talk about this. When did you
get the idea? Twofold? Did you know the minute we
said we were going to all be wearing white and
you had to wear a little bit of blue that.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
You were going to like I've wanted to wear this
outfit since nineteen ninety.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Four, okay, and just didn't feel comfortable.

Speaker 7 (04:05):
No.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
I just you know, when somebody says, hey, there's a
uniform for tonight.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Huh, I go all out.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
The only uniform was wear white, you with a little
millennium blue blue.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
You're right blue.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
But you took it to such a level it was
easily backsh you boys at sphere, incredible show. The highlight
of my night was Wilfredell wearing white parachute pants, white boots, Yeah,
a white button down shirt unbuttoned with millennium.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
Blue and then the shirt.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Under it and tinted blue rectangular sunglasses.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Also, I looked at Susan at one point and I said, Susan,
he didn't he didn't have any nude underpants because through
your white pants I could see dark underpants.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
And so Susan goes, uh, No, I guess he didn't.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I didn't see it before he walked out and you
over here, So what are you guys talking about? I said,
just you know that you obviously didn't have any nude underpants,
and you go.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
No, they're millennium boo.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
And you pull down your pants and you are wearing
Captain America blue underpants, and you were fully like, yeah,
this is the outfit.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You've talked about Wheels underwear on our podcast.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
I just I'd like to also point out I pulled
down the side to show you a peak of my underwear.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I didn't drop trow in the middle of sphere.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
If you want to be descriptives about what you did,
that's fine. I was just gonna say.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Pulled down pants. But but yeah I was. I was,
you know, prepared to go.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
And by the way, all the Backstreet boys or all
Backstreet boys were complimenting me on my rig.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
It was unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
And then the sphere inside is completely decked out with
fantastic photos of them, and your joy.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Fitting in with these photos.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
You're high five picture with a j Jensen looked at
it no less than ten.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Times throughout the night.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
He watched that more than the It was like.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
This concert scrape. But have you seen this picture with
a picture.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Of Oh my God.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
And then we went outside and got pictures of you
with Sphere behind you.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Magical.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
If you have not checked out the Podmets World Instagram,
you're missing out on some content.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
It was so much fun.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
So when we saw Dead and Co, Danielle bought our
tickets for us. Yes, where we were sitting when you
got our seats didn't vibrate.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
They did.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
They did when we saw Dead and I don't remember
that so last night because they really took advantage of
that last night. Yeah, and they did it with the visuals,
like remember when you're going through the circles, one of
them is in a circle.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
You're like, and it was like that.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Was what I'll say that one thing for sure, Backstreet
Boys did better than Dead and Co.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Is utilized the seats.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Agreed, there were many more.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Opportunities at Backstreem Boys where the.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Seats I noticed it. I mean it would then go
I really didn't notice. I mean, I guess maybe it
was just you also.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Are standing so much more through Dead and Coast. True
Backstreem Boys, there's a lot of ballads that you can
sit through. But you're absolutely right.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I feel like they took advantage of the three dimensionality. Yeah,
like you were sort of like moving a lot, Like
you felt like the entire room was going through things
like valleys and landscapes in a way that den Co
was much more sort of.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
Like look at this and like things would be trippy.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
But like this was like we're moving the whole It
was like it was cool.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
It felt like we were on a spaceship, yeah, which
is kind of what they were.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
And then the way the seat was kept vibrating, it
was it was pretty amazing. I said to Susan a
number of times last night that I was.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
I looked over and I was just like, I am
amazed at how these five men do this every night,
over and over and over again, the singing and the dancing.
I don't know how well we've talked to them. Their
bodies aren't holding up like they did when they were twenty.
They're they're up there with rip shoulders, knees that have
been reconstructed, everything.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
But they killed it.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
And it's like, well, I mean, Danielle, you and I
talked to Howie Is and he said he's sitting there
sipping his tea and he's like, oh, the second we
land in Vegas. It's like, we love it here and
we love the venue, but it's so dry here that
your voice starts to go ye. So I mean how
they do it over and over again is shocking.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Well, I've told you guys off Mike that, like, I
watched a documentary about them and sank and I was
it was so interesting for me because like I thought
of them as like our contemporaries, like we hung out,
you know these guys, and so I sort of I
hadn't realized how much I just thought of them as
like actors or you know, like that that their lifestyle
was kind of like our lifestyle.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Right.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
No, No, Like their lifestyle was singing, working on music
every day, going to malls when they were nobody's or
going to Germany, and like just having to perform. They
did an appearance, it wasn't an interview. They would have
to sing together, work together, know each other's parts, and
they work so much harder than us back in the day.
And I'm sitting there I watched this documentary. I was like, oh,

(09:00):
I definitely did not ever give them enough credit. When
we would hang out, it'd be like, oh, yeah, you know,
they're they're like us. No, they're like professional performing musicians
on a level that.

Speaker 6 (09:10):
Like, you know, our life was so easy.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
We got to show up and you know, have craft service.
We have an eleven am call tomorrow, come on.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
But think about when we do even just press and
it's like, Okay, you've got to go to New York.
You've got to be on Good Morning America at s
exam they're doing that and singing, singing, I.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Have to have the new number ready to go.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
It's like yeah, yeah, it's and on top of that
work physicality, Yeah, you're all the whole time.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
They really well. I mean when Aj said to us, he's.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Like, we're kind of he almost sounded like he was
embarrassed to say it, where he's like, well, we're kind
of like athletes, and he didn't want to compare.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Himself to I was like, yesterday is exactly what you are.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
You are, Yeah, you were working your body to death
constantly and have since you were fifteen or what it.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
Was as we were talking about last night, whether you're
a Backstreet Boys fan, not a Backsheet Boys fan, it's
your music, it's not your music. Good entertainers will suck
you in every time and then put good entertainers at
a location like Sphere and nobody could have walked out
there been like man that show.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
So yeah it was great, Yeah, so yeah, what an experience.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
So much fun. I literally had the greatest time.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I do now, though, I really want to see them
with no instruments, acapella and like a stripped down small
I want.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I know they can do it.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Oh yeah, you know, like this was them on that
like this is the biggest thing it'll ever get, right,
this is Backstreet Boys at the peak. Now, I really
want to just see them like sitting here like singing.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
I want to. I'm sure there's videos I can go find.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I loved the moment.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
At one point, Writer and I were sitting on opposite
ends from each other and I see Writer makeing eyes.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
I'm like, well, what's going on. He's like, what's it?
What's what's the situation with Brian? He's got the voice
of an angel?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
So good, I mean what he's like voice of an angel?

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I was like, I know, I don't.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Know anything, you know.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
I actually I've seen Baxtree Boys before, but I was
like backstage, like so like for me, this was literally
just like I know the one song I know, I
want it that way because we used to do dance
to it, so like other than that, so I'm like, yeah,
So last night was me being like oh this one
is and that, and like discovering him as a singer
because I've actually never met him, and like being like,
oh my god, his voice is, you know, and like

(11:20):
the way he feels it, the way he just commits,
Like oh, they're so good.

Speaker 7 (11:23):
So I want to add something to when we were
walking in the writer had the greatest moment of realization.
So we're walking out of the car towards the sphere
and yelling from far it's like shot Eric to Banga
and he looks at me and he goes, oh, no,
there's a big crossover, isn't there? And I went and
he said there's a big crossover between our audience in

(11:44):
the back. I said, there's no bigger crossover. This, this
is the crossover.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Know if it's a crossover, these are just your fans.
We're walking into a TGIF party exactly. Let's go. I
was like, oh, never occurred to me. I want to
know how big a crossover it is.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
I was getting recognized last Yeah, it's crazy, it was,
but what it really truly an experience, and it makes
you want to come in. We're all talking about like, oh,
they're doing Wizard of Oz here, Oh, what's the new sphere?

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Now? We just want to come back to the venue.

Speaker 6 (12:19):
It's an amazing experience, it really is. They need one
in every city now.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
I know.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
When writer walked in, he was like, ah, it feels
good to be back, and I was like, welcome home.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
I'm so I'm so into it too.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
I am too. I want to see like Planet Earth
or something just goes you want to see the movie.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
I've seen that, and then yeah, Wizard, I'm coming back.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
If Pink I will, I will fly, drive to whatever
I have to.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
If Pink Floyd comes here, I don't care if I
have to camp out for tickets.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
I want to see Pink Floyd in this venue.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Did you guys end up knowing more songs than you
thought you were going to know last night?

Speaker 3 (13:06):
I couldn't like sing them back to but there were
moments where I was like, oh, I do know that one, right,
I've heard that one?

Speaker 1 (13:10):
But yes, okay, yeah I.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Totally did, and I could not. I was singing along
with all.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I was like, yeah, I know, I saw this song.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Yeah, I mean it was kind of it was everywhere
in the zeitgeist in the nineties, that kind of thing,
And I think I'd be the same way with n Sync,
where it's like like, I think there was probably a
couple of songs I thought were en Sync that turned
out to be Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Yeah, we're interesting. Just you just kind of keep hearing
them and we know them, so it's like, oh, that's
back I remember overhearing at one of our conventions, because
you know, these guys are always at the conn I
think it was Joey was at a convention talking about
how people would say that would come up to him
and be like, oh, I saw you in Vegas at
this time at this concert.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
He'd be like, you're talking about the other band, Like
you you're talking about it was the other boy.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
But I was like, that must happen all the time,
just confused and did they all just go yeah, this point,
we have one of the bands.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
Yeah I did.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
I did get gifted a donut this morning. I'm very excited.
I've taken one bite.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
You do and it's like it's sitting next to you
just calling to you the entire time.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
It is Okay, what would the sphere visuals for Pods
World Live?

Speaker 2 (14:08):
What would we do? Donut in the sky.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
We get to fly through the doughnut.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yes, we go through the whale.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
Whales jumping out of the water would be amazing because
we could do the entire thing with all like the echoing.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
The whales could come out of whale spout, you know water.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Okay, camera begins way above the world. Okay, we zoom in.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Now we're getting to like nowhere, Alaska, and it's and
then there's a there's a hut and we go into
the window and there's places with.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Yes, we just take five minutes to get there and
just see. Then you come up with the moose on
stage and.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
The two hundred and twelve people there for us would
be like freaking freak out.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Yeah, it would be fans fans.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Thousand, so great.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
It would really But I was seriously watching a Boy
Meets World episode on that screen you like, awful.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
It lobster, lobster, But it would like you would see
how blurry our camera standard just awfulness.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Oh my make way, we're in the sphere. We're like,
why is it four to three? They're not using any
of the sides. What is going on? I wonder if
can you stupid question?

Speaker 5 (15:31):
And I'm sure you're gonna be like, come on, can
you rent out the sphere and play something you want?

Speaker 6 (15:36):
I think.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
I can. Which guy be like, oh yeah, I'm renting
out the entire sphere. I'm gonna play my family videos there.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
In touch with James Dolan.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
You know what, James Dolan did rent it out for
no doubt to someone like a corporate gig.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Who is James Dolan.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
He's the owner owner okay, and so yeah he did.
They did a no doubt show there with visuals and
everything one night.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
So you can you can rent it.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
That's millions, yea millions Danielle's next birthday. Thanks for bringing
us do it.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
I want to play Mario Kart on There's got to
be some video game that you could play. Oh my god,
that would be amazing.

Speaker 7 (16:17):
Because you know, in baseball stadiums, a big thing is
they usually like before games sometimes for players will put
it on the JumboTron and then they'll put on social media.
I would love There's got to be a way to
they'll do that. Eventually, they have to, I mean, why not.
I was so bummed the robot was closed last ye.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Yeah, there was no robot in the lobby.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 7 (16:35):
The robot that especially producer Easton. It feels like a
real a real pointed yeah, like you would love. He's
a big amusement park guy. And I was like real
excited to tell him like this robot takes in anything
you say, is ai And then they had it covered.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Oh well it's by his day off right right right.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
Now, everybody needs a day off robot rest. Oh man, Yeah,
what a show we talked about this Eagles or net
who's next?

Speaker 1 (17:02):
That this sphere apsphere Who is next?

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Do we know?

Speaker 4 (17:06):
I think it's I mean Wizard of Oz is still going,
and then and they and then Baxter Boys just extended
their residences after that. Maybe the Eagles are they coming back?
I think they were already there.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I think they are.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
And most of the band's not with them anymore. So
it's like one guy from an Eagle. Yeah it's an Eagle.
It's a loan. It's a lone eagle who plays bass
with six other guys. Yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 7 (17:29):
A real Eagle, Like this is not what I expected.
There's also a bunch of DJs coming you see.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
That makes sense. Yeah, that's just like music and with
visuals like oh absolutely, plus if your chairs vibrating the
whole time.

Speaker 7 (17:47):
It's like a festival group. Insomniac. They're like a big
group that makes sense, E d M. You know, and
it's called it's called Insomniac Tomorrowland Unity.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
That makes sense.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
You know who I bet you would do really well.
There is like a K pop band Oh yeah, oh yeah,
huge Black Pink. What's the other big one? Uh bt
s thank you?

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (18:08):
My dark horse is Miley Cyrus. It's my dark horse,
A big fan, a lot of visuals you can sing, Okay.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
I want to rent sphere out just for Danielle and
have Bob Dylan performed, just just Bob Dylan, no visuals.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
Just this isn't just the moment.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
This is the moment when I realized, right her.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Hands, and.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Then that's right, and then I'll invite some theater kids to.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Come and do.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
Just for you.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
It's a great I thought we were friends. I'm it's
literally right now, i'mizing he wants to torture me. It
says that brings him joy and.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
A great idea. Happy birthday.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Take a suggestion to the audience were broth, Hey you
let's come on, let's stage. You want to be okay,
give me a location.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
I heard bank Happy Birthday's everything. Danielle hates me. Set
up for weeks, we spend millions and it's a night
of ever. She can't stand.

Speaker 7 (19:15):
Oh god, that would be so Funnyies and gentlemen, you'll
check under your chairs, live spiders.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
We're gonna start by watching a racophobia.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Ragophobe is playing Bob Dylan plans.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
And then just.
