Speaker 1 (00:04):
You've got mail.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
We're back in last week.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Vegas.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
This is the most I've ever been to us ever,
never any one year period, year period, every twenty year period,
twenty year period. Well, we have a favorite hotel, now, Like,
what are the chances I have a favorite order at
this hotel?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
I said, I was so happy last night Jensen and
I went to dinner, and I said, I'm so happy
that a little bit of me is rubbed off on
Will that he decided I'm going to come in a
day early, I'll get a massage, We'll go to dinner.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
I was like I did. I called Zurich, I moved
some money around, I got a bottle of water. It
was great tables I did.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
He went on a crops roll where he rolled for
other people for twenty minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
One of the dollars.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
The people, the people I was rolling for were giving
me money because I was making them. I was one
five or six hundred bucks. I was just betting the
pass line. But they were everything. They were hitting. It
was hitting doubles and snakes and all. It was crazy.
It was a crazy night, so fun.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Well, we have an entire week's worth of content and
celebration of seeing the Backstreet Boys show here at the Sphere.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
All right, thank you? Okay, that was incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
You're you're getting ready for tonight jam Okay, in case
they call you up.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Well, just in case they call me up. Let's just
say I'll be prepared to jump on stone.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Okay. I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
I like that you're not dressed in your backstreetes and blues.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
I'm not yet, Okay, will be trust me? Will you
till see people?

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Why?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Because I am as what my wife would say, a
childlike eater. Okay, so very rarely do I walk out
of a meal. Not a much, I think when we're
talking to eat it it's childish. But it's also a
lot of times the stuff gets on my sleeve because

(02:11):
I'm using the crayon on the mats. You're trying to
draw the picture on the things exactly. I'm trying to
get all the way to the treasure map. So it's
I got stuff to do, and I tend to get
sauce on my shirt.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Tool writer, you look wonderful and you're white.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Are we the official or unofficial podcast of Las Vegas?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I think we could be.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
I mean, we have no problem representing a city that
none of us are from right.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I think it's great.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
I have heard stories about how the tourism here is suffering.
I'm happy to turn it around.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I think we can. We will be the face of Vegas.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
I do have an interesting being a story this morning.
So I ordered the coffee with coffee, one coffee and
one orange juice, was fifty dollars delivered to the room.
The man who delivered to the room said, Hey, I
really nice to meet you. I want to let you
know something. I wanted to be an actor and I
moved out to Los Angeles and my acting coach was
Chris Kier. Wow, and Chris just said nothing but amazing

(03:08):
things about you all. And I really just wanted to
meet you. And I've been following you and following the pod,
and I just I really wanted to tell you how
awesome you are and how great being with Chris was
so a Chris Kier student.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Then did he say, I don't even work here. I
don't have your coffee and your orange juice. I just
followed you to the and that's when I noticed he
wasn't wearing pants.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
But it was no, it was very nice. It was
really cool of him. Yeah, so it was. It was
very sweet. We have a Chris Kier student here.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yes, I love that well.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
In addition to interviewing Kevin and AJ of the Backstreet
Boys from the sphere, we will be pod swapping with
the Scrubbing and Ladies, two other ihearders who have made
the trip in search of some piping hot nostalgia. So
we'll be chatting with with a Vegas staple and.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
A lot of words.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
There are no hot nostalgia.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I want some nice you know, like just lay it
on me, laying on me.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
You are two of the weirdest people I've ever known
in my life.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I love you both forever.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
So we are also going to be chatting with a
Vegas staple and a comedy legend, a man who knows
a thing or two about the nineties in the two thousands,
Carrot Top. That was a will Fredell random throwout suggestion.
The last time we were in Vega, did I manifest
to you?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Said?

Speaker 4 (04:29):
When we're here for the Backstreet Boys shows? Can we
interview Carrot Top? And producer Jensen said, I think we
could make that happen.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Does he have a show here? He has a residence
ever decades, I don't think I've seen a single carrot top.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Really really, what the first joke I remember ever seeing
from a professional comedian was a carrot top joke and
on TV, and I thought it was the greatest thing
I had ever seen.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
What's the joke?

Speaker 4 (04:55):
It was a joke about call waiting but using the
phones from when you were you know, like when you
used to have a treehouse and you could connect a
foot and then it.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Was hold on.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I got there was another little's fun.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Yes, that's funny question, yes, and it's really fun. Yeah. So, uh,
he was at the roast of somebody in one of
those Comedy Central roasts and Flavor Flavor was there and
he's like flavors and flaves gotten older. So I got
him a new clock and it was a grandfather clock
on a giant gold chain. So he does stuff like
that was a cute.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I love it well.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
And then to close it all out, we are going
to be chatting with Ashley Simpson Ross, a y two
K legend who has started her own Las Vegas residency
here at the Venetian, returning to play her hits for
what is basically the first time in a decade. So
we chatted just a few days before she took the stage.
So what do you guys think about the dress and
white suggestion? We already know you have a childlike eating issue.

(05:50):
Did you worry about whether or not you had anything?

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Right? I had one shirt? Okay, this is my white
shirt Okay, and I felt weird about it, so I
put a tie on, okay, couldn't.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yeah, And I definitely don't own white pants or gage.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
And great Jensen also didn't have a whole lot of
white and he went and bought that entire outfit he's wearing.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
He did you. I can't wait to see what Amazon
did as actually don't look bad. I don't know why
I don't. I never think about it.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Those were thirty odd dollars from Macy's and they're Great.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Guy World sponsored by Macy's and white.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Pants and you never know?

Speaker 4 (06:26):
So did you know that there is a like little
holding room before the show where we will get to
see the Backstreet Boys and some past celebrities who have
attended and have taken pictures with them have been Usher,
Post Malone, Macaulay Culkin, and Brenda Song. Who are we
hoping to see celebrity wise tonight? If you could pick someone, anyone,

(06:48):
any celeb to be at the Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I don't know who.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Anybody is old yes, Away got right.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
With a hint of Millennium, Millennium Blue. I like it.
I don't know who who but the most random celebrities.
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
I know Mayan Lopez is going to be there. I
know that because we are friends and she was posting
about it on Instagram. I was like, I'll see you there,
So I'm looking forward to seeing her. That'll be fun.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
My stepdaughter tomorrow, Lexi, she's coming and seeing the show
tomorrow night with a bachelorette party. So yeah, I don't know.
I don't know if she's going to get backstage. I'll
have to try to figure something out.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
For just a lot of celebrities are going to see
the Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Is that like a yes, it's I mean, you know,
obviously the Backstreet Boys are having a peak nostalgia moment
and truly maybe a peak career moment like this is
this is some of the biggest things they've the shows
they've ever done.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
They're selling out every single night.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
They've just extended the residency now through the end of
the year and into the beginning of next year, and
it's become you know, the sphere is also shiny and
new and insane, and the word of mouth has been good,
so everybody coming to check it out.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
We didn't We also google where you guys with me?
I don't know if it was us or with Susan.
They're the Backstreet Boys, I guess with all love and
respect to our friends. And then Sync are the number
one boy band of all time.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Oh yeah, I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
I would have guessed record sales and gross in I mean,
they're like Backstreet Boys are number one.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah, I feel like they were the Well actually I
would have said, yes, that was our generational.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Little because of the fandom that was in South America
that whole I thought maybe they were, but no backs
or number one.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Yeah, they've definitely continued the legacy well, mostly also because
they've been able to continue to work as a group,
whereas in Sync is really successful as a group when
they were together, but once justin split off, they haven't
really been able to ever get back to the group
mentality to do a show.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
So anyway, I have a question. Yeah, because you especially
know all this kind of stuff, who do the fans
as a group, think are better singers and Sync or
the Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
I think if you go back back into the day,
it'd be split pretty fifty to fifty where people would
be like you you you either love the Backstreet.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Boys or you loved and Sync.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Now Uh that that kind of fighting of who's better
has completely gone away and there's just room to love
them all, okay. And I would think that maybe the
majority of people would say lasting voice wise and Sync
has maybe voice wise held up a little better. Brian
actually has a vocal condition that he has been having treated,

(09:33):
but it's it causes some singing issues for him, and honestly,
it's really inspiring because he has continued to show up,
he's continued to perform, and he's been very open and
honest about the struggles that he faces. He hasn't just
let it be like, listen, I'm not at the same
level I was back in the day, So I'm just
not going to do it anymore. And some nights he
has incredible nights and other nights the that's you.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
And so it's it's like, oh, I couldn't imagine. It's
like this is what I do, this is who I am,
and well Adele had that with the nodules and all
that kind of stuff. So for a singer, that's just
got to be the worst.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
It's terrifying, and there's surgeries and stuff, but then you
really run the risk of being able to, like never
getting your vocal ability back.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Yeah. I mean again, I'm not a singer, but my
voice is my life for podcasting and voiceover workers, and
we have voice of actors who go through the same
thing where it's like you need surgery and you need
this time. It's just and it can change. You come in,
you're an octave lower, you're not active fire, you can't
hit the same registers. It sucks.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Yeah, so Will I rubbed off on Will. He came
in a day early with his lovely life Susan. They
got massages, Susan got a facial and then I did

(10:44):
not know where they were going to dinner for Will's birthday,
but it turned out they went to dinner at the
exact same place Jensen and I just wandered into dinner
at the same time, which is a restaurant called Poppy Steak.
I have never heard of Poppy Steak, but apparently it's
very famous.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
As a chain or this one in particular, this one.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
I think one sounds like Miami, but I don't know,
that's just a stereotype.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
I am sure, is it poppy?

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Like yeah, poppy steak.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
So we wander in and I'm like, I'm in shorts,
and I'm like, it's very fancy, it's very dark, but
I was craving a steak. So I walk in. I
go listen, I am wearing shorts. I don't look like
I belong here, but I'm hungry for a steak. Am
I allowed in here? And they were like, yeah, sure.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
It's Vegas. Yeah sure. I was like, okay, cool.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
So we wander in.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
We sit down. Within forty seconds of being at the table,
I hear.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
What what are you doing here?

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Turn around it's mister Wilfred oll ANDed his birthday. Hugs, hugs,
Thankfully we're in the other side of the restaurant. I
can't join tables. I'm not ruining anything, but backs to him.
I can't even say.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Eleven sisters so exactly.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
So we say hello, I hug Susan and they go
back to their table. We order our food. Food comes
while we're eating all of a sudden.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Like a party siren. It was.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
It was it's a party siren with all the lights
go black in the restaurant and it's now like a
techno light of the table place to have right on
a table near us, and we're like, what is happening?
From the back, people come out with lights. Everybody's screaming.
They're carrying something to the table. We're like, what is

(12:38):
going on?

Speaker 3 (12:40):
It's the beefcase.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
You heard me right, beefcase.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Beefcase, my friend.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
It's a briefcase filled with beef. You open the beefcase.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Is it actually like a suitcase? Acase?

Speaker 4 (12:59):
There? It is beef in there? And then they have
a hot iron.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
It's it's raw.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
The steak is raw and were stab They stampied with
an iron.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
You see the steam and the smoke going people.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
And they're going steak, steak, steak, steak. Is that your
beeface for the beefcase?

Speaker 4 (13:24):
By the way, the family that ordered it was a mom,
a dad, and like a six year old girl.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Yes, a six year old girls.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Like what is happening? So how much does the beefcase?

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Well that's a good question. Will ding the you're the resident,
know how much everything costs? Everywhere we go? Person so
how much does it cost?

Speaker 3 (13:41):
One thousand dollars?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
It's a fifty five ounce steak.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
What feeds Australian?

Speaker 3 (13:49):
I guess we got the case goes back, they take
the case. I don't get the case. They get you,
they get it. What if I if I eat all
fifty five hours, do I get to keep the case
out that I want to get a mouth?

Speaker 2 (14:04):
We tried to get a beefcase to go. It's not
the same.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
No, Yeah, a thousand dollars. They have a thousand dollars
steak and then one thousand dollars dessert, which is the
base that baked the last.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Should have also said that right when I hugged Will,
before I had even opened the menu, he was like, Oh,
I hope you have all the money in the world
to eat here if the bread alone's eighteen dollars.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Before I had even said at my eighteen.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Books for bread, the free parking was twelve.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Oh, my dad, when you get to Vegas, I do
I become.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Old because it's so asinine. But I did have a
little bit of fun at Daniel's expense at the restaurant.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
I sure did.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
We're sitting down and it's you know, you're very close
to the table next to you.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
In this and Will is the mayor of everywhere he
goes not not talk to the people next care.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
So they sit down and of course we're hey, there's
the beefcase, all that kind of stuff, and then we start.
I look over as Susan, I go, I'm gonna have
a little fun. So I turned them I said, did
you guys ever watch that show? It's like Boys meet Whatever?
And they're like boy meets World and I'm like, yes,
like the girl from Boy Meets World to whatever. They're
like to Panga, I'm like, she walked in, she's over there,

(15:08):
and they have no oh no, She's like she looks
the same too. I'm like she's the woman's like, oh
my god, you're kidding me. My husband loved her. I'm like,
I never really watched the show, but like she like
looks and so they fifteen minutes I'm talking to them
about this. So she's like, I'm gonna go take a
lap and take a picture. I'm like, you should, because

(15:28):
I bet you she's super nice like, and so she gets
up and walks and take it from there.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
So I'm steak has just arrived.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
I'm a little normal size normal Jensen and I shared
a normal sized steak.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
It's just one person going.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
They didn't know there were there were no they were
by the way, there's tooth. It was incredible. So anyway,
I am cutting into my peat.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
I just put a bite in my mouth and this
woman comes walking up like.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
This, like imagine you're me cutting into your snake. She
comes up like this, are you?

Speaker 4 (16:07):
She doesn't even there's there's no chance she actually saw
my face. The whole thing felt very suss but like,
never in a million years did I think a Wilfredell
told her I was here. I just thought, wow, I
guess she saw me and somewhere else and she took
a lap and whatever, and I go yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
And she's like, oh my god, I love that show.
She's being very loud. I love that show. My husband
was a big fan. I was like, okay, great, what's
your name? Shows me her name Rona No No, So
I shake her hand.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Nice to meet you. She's like, can I get a picture?
I literally have like Salantro like sauce in my teeth.
I'm like, okay, so I'm finishing my bike.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
She's standing up Daniel standing up.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
She hands her phone to Jensen. Jensen has to put
his food down. He takes the picture from the sitting
down position. We look like pigs being shot up the nose.
We take the picture and then she's like, thank you
so much.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I'm really it's I was like, no, it's okay, it's fine.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
And then she walks away and I sit back down
and I'm like, all right, let's get back to our meal.
And then about ten minutes later, Will texts me and says,
we're almost done. Do you want to go play some craps?
And I'm like, yeah, we're done now, let's go. And
I look over to see if he gets it, and
I go he's sitting next to that. He's sitting next
to that woman. That's the woman that recognized me. And

(17:22):
I'm like, I'm not going to go over to their
shable again.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
You should have gone to another table and set it
up even better, you know, Like you know what she loves,
Bence is when people do the topanga call and like
they was that you just.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Give her she loves that, but I did. We were
having so much fun. It was the timing couldn't have
worked better. They were and oh god, it was just
magic all the way around. But I talked to this woman,
both of them, about Boy Meets World and Danielle for
fifteen minutes, and then she finally.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Said, how do you how do you know all of this?

Speaker 4 (17:57):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
And I was like, I go, all right, well, I
played Eric, of course you did. I'm like, really, you
got no idea?

Speaker 5 (18:02):
And then I couldn't hear the rest because I got
the beef.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
You get the beef face when you're covered with some
hot nostalgia.
