Speaker 1 (00:00):
First episode, to me, sets the town so much for
what it is. I think it's why I love Like
a New Hope out of all the films, because to me,
that's what set it all off.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Welcome, Welcome, everybody to part two of our fan Q
and A. Like I said, these episodes are just for you,
the listeners, the fans, the supporters that have been with
us since day one. This is all about you. And
of course I'm not here alone. We have our captain,
our QB one I guess, our John Elway if you will,
or what insert your favorite quarterback here, Miss Vanessa Marshall.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Hello, Hello, welcome back.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
And I'm going to borrow from one of our previous emails.
We got and introduced this person as our space Da Vinci,
Miss teaserkar.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Hello, love that. You can do that anytime you want.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
It's all canon now, and we have I guess we'll
call him the Fresh Prince of Lathal, the voice of
Aza Bridger Taylor Gray. I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
I love it. That's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
There's a right there.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
We'll do a whole intro like a like a ninety
six intro, absolutely absolutely ninety style and everything, and of
course our walking talking Jedi Archive, our real time fact checker,
mister J. C. Reifenberg. Hello, all right, so part two
everybody we got we got some more questions here and again,
like like I told everyone in part one, we do
our best to get to all of them in the episode.

(01:39):
But there's only just unfortunately so much amount of time.
But all of your emails have been seen, and you
are seen and you are hurt.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
This one comes all the way from Austria. Uh so,
good day, mate. That's a dumb and Dumber reference. Everybody, Okay,
just a wobone gets crazy Like I'm quoting dumb and
Dumber Jim Carrey's character. It was right there, and I
went for it. And see, I know how much you
love dumb and dumber as well, so that was appreciated.
It was for me too, but it was for you too, Uh,

(02:09):
Jeffy says, Hey Mandel Girl, Hi Jaba, high Space mom,
and hey adopted Ghost crew member. I first watched Star
Wars Rebels when I was six. It was immediately clear
to me that it was my comfort series. I quickly
started watching all the episodes over and over again. Uh.
And they wanted to They want to know do you

(02:29):
ship Callous and Zepp.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Absolutely all day long, all day, all night, without a question.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
I want I want that spin off series.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Oh my god, yeah, it.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Could be a standalone. I don't care. I just want
to see where they go and you know, their future together.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Can't you imagine Presley comes out that the movie that
Simon Kiinberg, He's going for you, but the first one
here was Callous and Zeb. That would be unbelievable. I'm
guessing do they ship them as well?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
It's got to be yes, yeah, they have to. I
mean I think that is also something that the fans
would love. But also I know that with the sequel series,
people always wanted Finn and Poe to get together and
then they never did. H So you know Callous and Zeb, Yeah,
we we do ship Calus. I believe that's like the

(03:27):
hashtag couple named like Calus. But that's the one I've
heard online. I don't know. If I don't know, I.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Like sounds like a prince vegetable to me, I company
or yeah, would you saybulous?

Speaker 2 (03:50):
That's good?

Speaker 5 (03:51):
That planet?

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah, it sounds like a fun planet. It's also possibly
a bar in Ea.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Park that does sound very Echo parking. Really Uh.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
I appreciate that question, because I think we all feel
very passionately in support of that romance, romance whatever. Yeah, wholeheartedly.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Definitely.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
I wonder about David, though I don't know if we've
ever asked him. Let's just yeah, just like just believe
that he does, because that would be really heartbreaking if
he didn't.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
He does, he, I would imagine. So now we want
we need the prequel Rebels series, and we also need
this Zebulous romance spin off, and we need good I
think you all know this about me. I love romantic comedies.
It's my favorite genre, even more than I know that
sounds blaspemous to some people who know that. I'm a
big horror note and I love horror movies, and I

(04:52):
love really just any great form of art. But I
just there's something about rom coms. So just if we
could have that sort of nineties charm rom com that's
rooted in like Shakespeare literature, with Callus and zeb that's
what the world needs right now. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
I'm in also between like David and Steve, they're just
both like so incredibly talented. I just want more of
the two of them, and those two characters together more.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Please yes, zabulous we need that's our next merch idea.
We got a lot of merch ideas that we got
to get really should next question comes from Sean Carloks,
who says, hello, longtime listener, first time emailer. Just want
to start up by saying, thank you all so much
for making this It's been a delight to listen to
every week. They had a couple questions. The first one was,

(05:45):
now that season one is done, what episode stood out
the most to each of you.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
I'm gonna I'm gonna again go back for the first episode.
The first episode to me, sets the town so much
for what it is. I think it's why I love
Like a New Hope out of all the films, because
to me, that's what set it all off. And you
get introduced to these people that at first you're like,
am I gonna like them? Are they going to click
with me? And then you just quickly quickly or caught

(06:13):
up into these storylines where you're like, yeah, I'm just
I'm on the ride with them. And I think you
get all of that in the very beginning, and you
immediately met with detention of uh, are they going to
do this or not? And I think it's just so fun.
And I also like, I love the beginning of anything.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
I was gonna say the first episode, but because you
already did, I will try and I'm going to pick
it up. Sorry, no, no, no, that was a great answer.
And I feel the same way. But y'all, what is
the name? Jac what is the name?

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Told you?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
We put you to work of the episode? Uh where
Haarrah and Zabine go and fight those little weird creatures.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
All the furnocks.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Dang it, dang it, call was so close. Have I
stumped you?

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yeah, I'm not going to pull the episode name that
that's okay, I yea.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Those who are listening, I'm sure you know which episode
I'm referring to. But I just you know, like, uh,
girl power, batty girls, just going and taking care of business,
and you know, I just I think it's so important.

(07:31):
I mean, look, I think Rebels is for people of
all ages. I think that's been demonstrated and like who
who who writes in or who loves the show and
people watch with their whole families and that's very and
you know, I'm always delighted to hear that. But I
think about this that it's like so important not just

(07:53):
for little girls to watch characters like Haarah and Sabine
be whip smart and capable and strong and you know,
not like relying on a man to come and save
them because they're in danger or peril. But I think

(08:14):
it's so important for a little boys to see that,
or boys just these are men to see that, just
you know, like it's not just a powerful thing for
a young girl or a young woman to see that,
I think it's also just as important and just as
valuable for young boys or men to get to see

(08:36):
characters like that. And so that episode was a special
one for me, not just because we got to record
it together, but also just kind of what it represents
and the impact that that could have.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Hopefully gathering forces, but I'm sorry, not gathering forces. That's
the other one. Out of Darkness, Out.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Of Darkness, thank you.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Yeah, well, well I am struck.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
Of course the Lando Calrissie and stuff is because I'm
a star Wars nerd that but that stood out for
me the first time through as a possibility that you know,
he helped us in Cloud City because he owed us one.
But you know, Freddie and I will carry that torch forever,
but there's no proof of that, but just sitting here

(09:22):
thinking about it for some reason, Ezra's journey alongside Canaan
going into the Jedi Temple, I don't know how I
missed all that the first time around, and it really
sets up the world between worlds that happens later, and
for me, the caring and affection and the spiritual growth

(09:46):
of Ezra, the caring of Canaan his self doubt taking
him through the temple and not knowing what was real
or what was a figment of sort of Ezra's learning,
and ultimately sort of the bad scenes with the Inquisitor.
All of those things, like so many great battles happen
on a bridge, I mean, oh my gosh, many too

(10:07):
many harrowing moments on a bridge in Star Wars. But
those really stood out for me as sort of like
quintessential delicious Star Wars and impacted me more this time
through than when we were recording them and reading them
and all like that. And I'm really looking forward to

(10:30):
getting into the later seasons to sort of track that
journey even further. But I didn't realize how many powerful
seeds were sown in season one with regard to that
specific topic, and it impacted me really deeply to.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
See, you know, I.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Mean, Taylor, when your character keeps going and facing his
fears through those horrific doors and halls and caves and
this and that, like I a lot of kids, I
mean speaking of like important lessons for kids that you know,
oftentimes it's our fear that clouds are our vision. And
and you know, watching Ezra get to the other side

(11:11):
and you get kicked off a ledge and you're you know,
you're you're you're down on the ground and like somehow,
against all odds, you come back.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I don't know. I just found that to be.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
Really really inspiring, and it made me really hungry for
more of that. So I look forward to to really
paying closer attention to that as we move forward.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
How about you, JC, I is going to be like
I'm with Taylor. Actually, the thing that surprised me most
and again I talked about it a couple episodes ago,
but I came in with a lot of like when
I first watched it, with like kind of my arms
crossed and rewatching it this time, the first episode really

(11:56):
stood out to me of like, oh, I was so
it's such a heavy bias watching this the first time,
I didn't I missed eighty percent of what was actually there,
and so rewatching it this time, I was like, oh no,
it's it's the beginning. It sets everything up, it does
a great job doing it, and every you know, the
whole show just is a launch pad from those first

(12:18):
couple episodes.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Love that awesome.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
How about you John?

Speaker 2 (12:22):
For me this time around the penultimate episode right before
the season finale, because you really get the last three episodes.
We got this like trilogy, and that penultimate episode is
almost like you were hoping they would find the resolution,
and they do find out where Canaan is, but they
don't resolve what's going on yet. And I felt like
that was really strong storytelling and so ahead of the curve,

(12:43):
especially like twenty fourteen, to really have that patience of
let's not solve this in like a two parter. Let's
have this middle portion where they don't know what to
do and how to go about it and what they're
going to do once they get to the Moustafar system.
That's what really stood out to me this time around.
I think when I first watched it, it was probably Empire
Day that one always like stuck with me just because

(13:05):
you got to know more of the emotional layers of
of of Ezra. But this time around, it was that
penultimate episode. I thought that was really strong and just
really top not storytelling. Thank you for asking. I was like, oh, yeah, yeah,
I guess I could answer that too. Sean also wanted
to know and if could we potentially see the Potterbelling
Crew plus guests returned to the table top role playing

(13:28):
game see yes, okay, but I knew we were going
to like I was mostly for and Butessa, you and
I you we just did like a little game activation
that Star Wars related.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
It's so much fun. Thank you for teaching me. I
had so much fun.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
I didn't teach you.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
It was.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
I didn't teach you anything.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
You have tons of experience. I didn't know what the
heck I was doing, but I had so much fun.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Uh so short answered Sean, Yes, we would like to.
And Taylor, I know you were with our initial run
on Geghead when we did the RPG thing, and here
I think you would be so good at it and
we can do like a whole session where we just
teach it in and outs. I'm telling you role playing games.
It's kind of like long form improv. But you you're
you're breaking up with like these dice rolls and like

(14:12):
you have the game mester kind of helping you out.
I'm telling you would be so awesome at it.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
So and there's zero shmacking of like I'm wearing pantaloons.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
And there is if you want.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
Okay, bro, you're on your own with that.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Like I think I need to watch you. Guys.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
Okay, I die.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
I don't know what it is and I don't and
I find it intimidated.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
You would slay.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
It's the strategies, guys.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
On you're one of the smartest people I know.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
Come on, that's very kind. Well all right, I mean
let's see, let's see how all right, We'll put it
this way. You gotta be fun, you know, right, all right.
I see what you're doing right now, and it's kind
of working, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Damn it.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
You people know me so well. And I was like,
you're smart. He was like, but you gotta be fun. Okay, fine,
so easily manipulated.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
So you're telling us there's a chance we're going to take.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
It you're saying, there's Jesus JC.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I know you're in, right, You're a big gaber guys.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
I'm in. I've never done RPG. I played one one
shot RPG and I was like T I was so
intimidated going in. I was like, I'm just gonna watch you, guys.
I don't know, I don't know if I can do this.
And within like six or seven minutes, I was doing
exactly what Vanessa was talking about, I guess, and I
was like a smuggler character and I was like, and

(15:40):
when the Imperials come in, he like leaps up and
does like spins around the ceiling rafters and is hiding
in the ceiling. I was so in. After about six.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Minutes, it was just so much like I feel like
my blood blood pressure is rising. I didn't do any
of that.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
I didn't do any of that.

Speaker 6 (15:59):
No, I think actors would rather die in their spare time.

Speaker 7 (16:03):
I mean all actors, but you know, in their spare
time to be like, oh, I'm just going to smack
you on the side like no, don't please, don't you know.
But but I mean, look, if that brings people joy,
like do you And and I think Steve did some
of that.

Speaker 8 (16:18):
There was some swashbuckling and our love that love that
for so. But but it's not required, So okay, it's
only if it brings you way, and for me, I'm good.

Speaker 9 (16:29):
I'll take it under advisement that well, let's just say,
because I know Sam Whitwer has been one to DM
a game again, he is the best at it because
he's not not only is he like just an incredible
dungeon master, but he really helps you out throughout, like
he will walk you through.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
He's not going to just be like, hey, you got
to know all this stuff. He's like, oh, what's not
making sense? And he'll make it make sense for me.
So you would be so great at it until like
this this group, if we all got to be the
players and Sam wit Where was our game master, it
would be a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
You know. Steve is also able to join whenever.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
I mean, so he can bring the pantaloons and the
swatch Buckley.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
He'll do his Harvey Firestein voice too, which he did
by that.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Yeah, it's fun. It's fun to witness that.

Speaker 6 (17:15):
But I'm grateful that it's not a requirement because then
I feel like uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
I don't know. I just I don't know you.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
You know, when the when when you have someone like Sam,
he creates this environment where you just kind of and
naturally comes out, So he never he never mandates that,
but also he paints such a vivid picture for you
that you're like, Oh, I think I kind of want
to lean into this because you're kind of nudging in
this direction.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
So, yes, happened with.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
The DC game that we did a little bit.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Oh one hundred percent to have it with that.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Yeah, but I.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Don't know, it just didn't feel the same because I
know Tiet, I get, I hear you, I hear you.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
So coming soon hopefully well too. To be determined next month.
Comes from Douglas, who says, Hey, Specter plus John and JC,
just writing to say how much I truly appreciate this podcast.
Giving everything going on in the world, I find my
anxiety has really amped up this year and it's had
me struggling. You're not alone in that, Douglas will leave
me so and I appreciate you sharing that your podcast

(18:14):
provides a weekly bit of joy that always manages to
cheer me up as I listen on my walks. I
really enjoy the insight and funny stories you all bring.
It's so very heartwarming to see you while still so
close and able to just joke around with one another.
I also am appreciative of the mental health focus you
bring to so many of the discussions. If I had
one question, it would be was there any characters from

(18:36):
the Star Wars universe you wish had appeared on the
series but never got a chance to That's interesting?

Speaker 4 (18:43):
I would say, Oh, man, I'm split. I'm split.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
So I was gonna say han solo because that Hanso
is my favorite character. That would be sick. Sorry to you,
I will, but I should it all the other one.
I should go with the other one. I when I
was young, Job of the Hut freaked me out. I
didn't creaked me out. And there's certain characters I have

(19:10):
walked short the ros. I was like, oh, I always
didn't like these types of orcs, and now it's interesting,
I get it. But I was young and they just
like terrified me, and Job of the Hut had that.
But if we all came across Job of the Hut,
I just imagined that would have been pretty funny. This
is when you're guys, GONN tell me job the Hut
was in the show. No, yeah, maybe a job of

(19:33):
the Hut. I Jenny thought, you guys are all waiting
to be like, no, I like the job of the
Hut answer. That was gonna be my answer because Ezra's
job of the Hut. I think it would have been hilarious,
Like can you imagine.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Ezra realizing He's like, all this time, I've been saying
I'm job of the Hut, and this is who I
was saying I was who I was.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
I's like, no, wonder they didn't believe me.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Yeah, exactly, I'm so much better looking.

Speaker 6 (20:00):
Yeah, I've always wanted to see Assage Ventress.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
I knew you were going to say that.

Speaker 10 (20:08):
Yeah, I just love her, so I really feel like
she could have given her injuries with Dooku and the
way she was mistreated and let down and betrayed.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I always wondered if there was a place for her
in our crew that I just want to be so.

Speaker 6 (20:26):
Awesome to have her heart open and soften and join us.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
Wow, I was going to say Assage Ventress, but I
knew knew you were going to say that, So then
I'm like, sorry, no, no, no, I was going to
say that originally because I think that, but I hadn't
thought about her actually like joining the crew. That's very interesting.
But I was like, no, Vanessa going to pick massage
for sure, so that I was like, well personally Han obviously,

(20:57):
but then Taylor saw my thunder so well ah, I mean, gosh, mmm,
I have to think about this a little longer.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
It's a loaded question. I mean, you know, because there's
so many possibilities that you won't need to go through.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
I kind of think, what would hey, j C, what
about or sing?

Speaker 5 (21:25):
Or could be fun? I think they did stuff with
Orris sing in Wars. Yeah, I would go with I'll
give to you an extra second. I think also like
Jan Dedonna, who's like kind of the guy who's like
the leads the He's like the acbar of episode four

(21:49):
where you can or he's like you'll have to use
proton torpedoes. You know. That guy I think would be
cool to see, like if Harris the one who shepherded
him into the rebellion Big stark Lighter, which may this
may be a little bit too early for Big stark Lighter,
but maybe in like season four, who was like Luke's

(22:12):
best friend on Tatooine. I think he could have been
really cool, like he finds the rebellion by way of
the ghost crew.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Cassie and and Or would be cool.

Speaker 5 (22:23):
That would be amazing.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Imagine we're both going the same mission in different rebel cells,
you know, I mean competing, But that would be cool.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Okay, I thought of I thought of two, I thought
of one, and then it doesn't have to make sense.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Does it?

Speaker 2 (22:41):
No?

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Okay? Okay?

Speaker 4 (22:43):
So then again, personally, body Rooke, is that how you
say his name? What's Zona's character in Rogue one?

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Yeah, yes, have.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
I stumped you twice? Jac one episode of this podcast.
I've never done it before.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
Yes, he would be awesome, especially because at that time
he would have been thinking about defecting from being an
Imperial pilot. That's a great thing. That's a great idea,
that could be a really interesting storyline.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
And also, like you know, if Sabine needed to help
him along in that journey, no problem, I.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Mean I like that how old Sabinian episode season one.
It might be a little inappropriate. Yeah, it might be
a little inappropriate.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
All right, fine, but maybe like season two, season three,
let's let's not count it out. And then I was
also gonna say k tso oh yeah, just because you
know I love that guy, John, what about you?

Speaker 2 (23:54):
You know the one that I always like, And because
I love bad Batch and I always say I would
love to see Recor and zeb together. I think they
would annoy the heck out of each other, that's funny,
but they would also love each other so much, like
they could take each other in small doses, like they
shouldn't be around each other too much, but when they're
on the mission, those two together would be a force,

(24:15):
like you're not gonna mess and they would probably trying
to one up each other too, but in a way
of like, oh I like what he's doing. Oh I
like what he's doing. So I always like think about
that every time I think like bad Batch, I think
of Rebels, I'm like, oh, like Zepin, Recor would have
been a very funny duo.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
It would have been like the best buddy comedy flick.
Like I think like die Hard with a Vengeance, but
with like zebn record, Oh cud, I like it.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
I'm into it.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
And then Callous gets all jealousy's like, wait, who's this
who's this record? Guy you're talking about?

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
What do you mean, Like, why is he dming you
so much? She's like, because.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
Technology missions you guys, keep.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
On, Why is he sending this emoji? Like, don't worry
about it. You're my guy, my guy. There's are other
merch idea with our zebulous merch our. Next one comes
from somebody from the five oh first Legion, Carolina Garrison.
So I want to make sure I highlighted this person.

(25:16):
Eric Swinson says, Hello, Potter Rebellion. Loving the podcast and
listening to all the stories that everyone's thoughts on rewatching
the show. The event has been mentioned a couple of times,
but I want to share my own story regarding Star
Wars weekends as I was there as well. I was
there the weekend of June thirteenth through fifteen, twenty fourteen.
I remember seeing the Rebels characters in the parade. I
also have a vague memory of my mom asking me

(25:38):
who those characters were and me telling her how they
were characters from a new Star Wars show coming out. Unfortunately,
it was one of the weekends in which Vanessa t
and Taylor. It was not when the weekends in which
Vanessa Tan Taylor attended However, Steve Bloom and actually X
Time were there and anyways, continue to stay awesome. That's
from Eric Winston TK two three four, five four of

(25:58):
the FIBA First Legion, Carolina Grrison.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Thanks Eric, awesome, Thank.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
You, and I wanted like one. It's always great to
hear from the five oh verse. But also because we
had James Arnold Taylor here a couple of weeks ago,
you really went deep into those Star Wars weekends, and
I feel like we're getting more signs from the universe
of Hey, these live show ideas we got, you know,
I think we can make a two point zero version

(26:24):
of that, of let's let's create some sort of experience
for the fans that really want to come out. And
I think community right now is more important than ever,
especially if we have the collective love of Star Wars
and community in one place. I think it would be
really special.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Can I interject really quick, just because I meant to say, sorry,
am I interrupting you? I am interrupting you?

Speaker 2 (26:44):
No, I am done time.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
I had meant to say this when you read. I
think Douglas's question just that like sending you a big
virtual hug. Douglas hang in there. I feel like we
on this podcast are all feeling a similar way as
you are, and so hang in there. We'll get through
this together.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Absolutely, And that does coincide with what you know we're
talking about with community, and so I do think, look,
there's going to be some version of a live show
or live gathering. If we got to grassroot it and
feel the dreams that and build it, they will come
sort of thing. Well, we'll do that, And I do
want to dress something really quick that I got a
couple messages from people regarding when we covered the season

(27:27):
finale of season one, and I know some people would
be disappointed that we didn't get the talk specifics of
the episode, and look, that's an occupational hazard everybody. As
she was here, we were very excited to have her
here and we wanted to just share the memories of
her and what it was like for her to come
into the show. And we do know maybe that may
have come at the expense of us talking about plot points.
That wasn't a slight to any of you. To those

(27:49):
who have written in with those concerns, we've heard you.
But what I will say to that is maybe and
one of these live shows we can do like a
live watch along of that season with you all, and
then we can really deep dive into the episode. There's
always a time great, I can we visited stuff love
that looks great?

Speaker 6 (28:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Yeah, So I want to make sure that because we
had like a handful of emails come in that were like, oh,
I wish you would have talked about the episode. And
I wasn't by any means a nasty critique or anything,
but it was a valid concern. And we're we're we're
learning as we go along here, like I know what
happened with Dante or I don't think we talked about
the episode at all, but it was just a great
conversation with Dante. And I think maybe in the future

(28:29):
we'll learn to just separate episodes with guests so that
we can focus on the guests and episodes can focus
on episodes. But we're we're learning as we go and
we are listening to our feedback.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
We just need less interesting guests.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
This is true.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
It's like when you have someone like Dante or Ashley
or james On or Steve or you know, uh, you
just you know, you want to like just talk to them,
Like I could talk to those guys for you know, hours,
and you know, they're just they have so much to say,
They've got so much insight, and they're fun and funny,
and so I think we maybe get you know, lost

(29:05):
in car in our conversations and kind of we'll do better.
We can do better.

Speaker 6 (29:12):
I think that's a great idea though, to have a
live event that would be fun.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
I'm trying to noodle that.

Speaker 6 (29:17):
I'm trying to figure out a way for us to
the group of us, this very special group to do
some sort of like a multi city tour or I
don't know, we're gonna We're going to noodle the best
path forward, even if it's like for season three that's
on the on the horizon, or but a way for
us to sort of bring this out into the community

(29:39):
and celebrate the people who write in and have them
actually there.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Yeah, I mean, I think I'll watch along. If we
get to watch like with the fans, would be really cool.
And I know, I remember during the pandemic, jac you
were hosting. It was me, you and my friend.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
Amy Amy rat close from so we did.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Watch along virtually of like Return of the Jedi, it
was just us commentating on it, and I feel like
there's an in person version we can do that of
episodes of Star Wars Rebels, even if it's one we've
aready covered on the episode. It's like, okay, imagine watching
Empire Day with an audience and then getting to talk
about it. I think the options are pretty limitless in
terms of what we can do with the fandom been

(30:21):
in these in person events. So uh so, yeah, we are.
We are plotting and scheming behind the scenes, and we're
hopefully going to come up with something soon and I
will hope uh and that that Star Wars Weekends email
definitely reminded me of that of what we talked about
with James a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
Two mm.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Okay, So next question comes from Joe Shaller, who says, Hey,
Potter Rebellion. First, I just want to say I grew
up watching Rebels as it aired on Disney XD, and
since Disney Plus launched, I've rewatched the series several times,
most recently my girlfriend. For the first time. I can
gladly say it has become one of my favorite pieces
of Star Wars of all time all caps peak Star Wars.

(31:00):
As I grew up watching Rebels movies and collecting Star
Wars action figures. Are there any childhood memories of Star
Wars that you were fond of or still remember today?
Thank you? Give me the four C with you sounds
like where do you start? Right?

Speaker 1 (31:19):
I had these guns with my brother that when we
were young. I didn't know they were Star Wars. It's hilarious.
They were these little maybe JC will note there. They
were phone You would load these foam things into the
top and you could shoot them, and they would shoot
these little foam discs out and they were ships that
were on top of like a handle.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
And I remember.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
When we had moved, my mom had sent my family
had moved, They sent pictures of it, and we had
already been working on rebels. I never knew these things
were Star Wars, but we would play with these things
like every day, am I have I gone out again?

Speaker 4 (31:54):
No?

Speaker 2 (31:54):
No, no, we're just listening God. Although we couldn't mess you.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Yeah, but those were like it was fun to see.
I sort of have always talked about how like the
Beatles are a pillar of culture in music, and Star
Wars kind of is that way in film. Like there
were T shirts and lunch pails and everything growing up
that I was never aware of, but it was just everywhere,
and it's that thing of when you're looking for blue,
you don't see red. And then once we were working

(32:23):
on Rebels, just driving around, I see like the Rebel
emblem on the back of so many cars, just a
little sticker, a bumper sticker, and I think, I think
it's so fun.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
How much a part of the world.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
It's it's got to be one of the biggest franchises,
I mean obviously so that we'll ever have, So it's cool.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
I think what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
I think, like.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
I obviously, like conceptually knew how massive Star Wars is
and how beloved it is and that it's like this
global or intergalactic phenomenon. But I don't think I fully
fully appreciated like it's reach until I got this job.

(33:17):
And I mean like people from every part of my life,
of all ages, all backgrounds, from various you know, you know,
kind of basically what you know came out to me
as like massive Star Wars bands, and I was like,
I think it's It was then when I was like, wow,
Star Wars is universal, like people, it does not matter

(33:43):
who you are, where you're from, what background you have,
what skin color you are, like, if you're a man,
you're a woman, what language you speak? Star Wars is
for everyone, and people freaking love Star Wars, and I
I think I knew part of that before, but it

(34:04):
didn't really hit home until I got this job, and people,
just like people that I didn't wouldn't never have pinned
as a Star Wars fan, were like, oh my god,
I love Star Wars so much. I can't believe that
you're in the Star Wars universe. And I was like, me, neither,
But I do you remember that the first Star Wars
movie I saw in a theater was Episode one? Is

(34:29):
that weird? That was the first Star Wars movie I
ever saw?

Speaker 2 (34:33):
No, because I started in chronological order. Yeah, no, because
I only saw the original trilogy because they re released
them in the nineties. Oh I see, yeah, So I
mean I didn't get to really see the original trilogy
in theater. So no, that's not weird at all.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
Well, that's my earliest Star Wars memory of like seeing
one of the movies in the theater. I mean Steve
Blooms and saw Episode four on the day it was
released in the theater in nineteen seventy seven. Yeah, yeah,

(35:09):
how about that?

Speaker 6 (35:12):
My parents put me in Colorado with my family, and
my aunt sought out an air conditioned theater.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
With my cousins.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
So there was this gaggle of children with popcorn and
hoping that this would pass the time.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
And it changed my life.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
You know.

Speaker 6 (35:33):
I spent the rest of that summer trying to have
Princess Leah Bunn's struggle.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Struggle. Struggle was real, but I.

Speaker 6 (35:43):
Was so moved to see such a strong female character,
and to this day, she's one of my favorites. And
I cared about I cared about these people, and I
cared about their fate, and I just took it, just
took me. But yeah, then came action figures and collecting

(36:04):
things from McDonald's, and the cups and the things, and
the just the fire was lit.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
I don't know, JC, was it like that for you
as well.

Speaker 5 (36:13):
I one of my first memories ever was seeing Return
of the Jedi in the movie theater and I was
like maybe three years old. It was probably at the
end of the theatrical run. And I don't even remember
the movie, but I remember the event of it like
it was you know, when you know you're going to

(36:35):
do something special, and then I'll show you, guys, because
Vanessa always has props, I'll show you the thing. The
thing that drove my Star Wars fandom forever, which I
think is common with a lot of people like my age,
is obviously the toys and the action figures. I have
a video of Christmas nineteen eighty four of getting the

(36:58):
C three po Shiny Gold Sea three Poks.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
This is a.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
Replacement part of the one that I beat up when
I was a kid, but it was full of all
the action figures and I got the Ewok Village that
year and it was just like wow. It's like when
I need a good cry, Like I go back and
I watch the video of me at almost four years
old opening all these toys. It's through grainy, grainy, terrible

(37:30):
VHS quality. So that's like i've I was, you know,
I was was Bainsay in Batman. He's like you adopted
the fire. I was born into it or whatever. I
was just born into it. I love it.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
That's amazing.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
First member, you know what. My first introduction to Star
Wars was Empire Strikes Back, but it was recorded off
of TV, so it was on like a Beta Max tape,
so like, that's what I remember and my favorite care
It wasn't Skywalker, it wasn't Lea, it wasn't Han. It
was the guy who finds Han Solo wrote two He's

(38:07):
like I found them, repeat I found them. I don't like.
For some reason, I was like, I love that character.
That was So that was like my introduction into Star Wars.
And then as you get older, you you appreciate the
craftsmanship and like the thought behind it and the storytelling.
But that was my introduction into Star Wars. It was
very similar to you, Taylor. I didn't quite understand what

(38:28):
it was, but I was taking the whiffle back, pretending
it was a lightsaber. But I didn't really understand like
why I was doing it. It was just something mystical
and magical about that world that draws you in and
and that's why to this day, it just it continues
to have I think the impact that has in different
ways obviously for new generations. But yeah, that was that
was my intro into Star Wars. Was like a recorded

(38:50):
off a TV Beta Max tape watching an Empire strike
it back.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
Yeah, that character's name is Zev Sineska. For anybody listening
at home who's like, who's the guy in Rogue two?
Zev Sineska.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Yeah, well, there we go, and I think we got
to do some sort of activation where it's like maybe
Dorito's is a sponsor, and like we got to find
this next like, well, I found them, repeat, I found them,
Like maybe that can be one of our ad reads
later on great answers everybody, So we have time for
like maybe one more and then there's another special email
that I'm going to read off. So this one came

(39:25):
cring from Dan Kurtzevsky. It looks like they're from Chicago too.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
Oh, I know, Dan, that's funny, I do. I do well?

Speaker 2 (39:36):
So maybe well for the first wad your burner account
in the first part, and now you're colluding with one
of our listeners. All right, we'll shout out to your
buddy Dan. Then Dan want to know, did anyone know
that Vader is going to appear at the end of
season one or was that not in your scripts?

Speaker 3 (39:51):
No, we did not know, So that was.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Kind of that was kind of the biggest point of
the whole I was like, and Star Wars now like that.
In that moment, I remember being like, oh, this is.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
Different, this is cool, yeah, oh this is oh, this
is Star Wars like the real real I thought was
Star Wars is Star Wars. Yeah. No, we absolutely remember
when we talked earlier early on how we were on
a need to know basis. Dave Filoni had us on
a need to know basis and whatever. We didn't need
to know. We didn't. We weren't old. We were not

(40:27):
this was a need to know basis and we were not.
We did not need to know until we knew, and
we were all like, you know, totally shell shocked by it.

Speaker 5 (40:39):
I would be the worst showrunner because the moment that
got written in, I would be like, you guys, you guys,
you'll never get to believe.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
What we do.

Speaker 5 (40:49):
James Earl Jones is coming back Darth Vader. You guys
are going to have Darth Vader and your show, and
you guys are going to be like, we're just recording
episode two. What are you even taught talking about? You psychopath?

Speaker 4 (41:01):
I would be the same way. I'd be like, y'all,
you're not going to believe this. Are you sitting down?
And then I would just spill all the beans.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
I know were the best showrunner. Ever, I don't know.
I was like I'd be stoked, like, hey, this guy
just told us, like what's going on?

Speaker 9 (41:16):
Cool?

Speaker 2 (41:16):
Now we got some to reach forward.

Speaker 5 (41:18):
I know every secret would be like Tom hollanded out though.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Well, what a cool experience them for, even to them
watch it and go oh, so it's the gip that
keeps on even though it's like when you're in it,
you know, you get to live it and experience it firsthand, obviously,
but then the fact that there could be other surprises
on top of that.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
We watched that one together, didn't we at Disney or
in Yeah? Right, yeah, yeah, so I think we all
sort of found out at the same time, which was awesome.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
Yeah, that's really cool. I wish there was a reaction
footage of that or maybe something it'll magically app But Okay,
we're gonna end on this note because we had another
really nice email and I feel like this is a
nice way to wrap up part two of our Q
and A from Nate Burget, who says greetings to all
space aladdins and jetpat connoisseurs. My name is Nathaniel, but
you can call me Jedi Nate. I will get right

(42:15):
to the point admit that my journey with Rebels has
not always been positive. It's coming, as it has been
discussed on the podcast a few times, and I will
quote the goat JC here when I say that my
arms are crossed like a child when Rebels premiere because
I had lost my favorite TV show with the Clone Wars,
so I was rather bitter about a quote replacement. However,
I was over the moon about Azra as a character,

(42:35):
as he was the same age as I was when
the show began, so it was cool to see myself
in that way. So JC and Taylor, this is your
Burner account clearly colluding. Yeah, so Rebel's properly finished in
twenty eighteen. My mindset of maturity surrounding the show has
evaulved over time with the help of a rewatch and
now a second one with this pod alongside it. Hearing
Taylor Tmvnissa every week honestly feels like I'm just listening

(42:58):
to the characters themselves, especially Taylor and Vanessa, who pretty
much sound like Ezra and Harrah effortlessly. I can now
stay with my full chest that I am a Rebels
fan and I've come to a place where I can
appreciate the show for what it is rather than hate
it for what it is not. This message isn't necessarily
a question, more so as a shout at the Taylor
slash Ezra, even just in the first season. I'm truly

(43:18):
amazeding move by the positive portrayal of masculinity to the
character Ezra Frizzer. He is someone who's very self aware
and in tune of his emotions and is no stranger
or holds no shyness when feeling sadness, anger or deep depression.
As someone who doesn't have a lot of positive male
role models in my life, and it's always looking for
positive representation of that media, I really appreciate characters like

(43:39):
Ezra and even Canaan It's who and he goes on
and say thank you, Taylor, keep up the awesome work.
Potter Rebelling. Watching Rebels every Monday night and listening to
a new recap episode on Tuesday has become my new
favorite weekly routine. Made the Forest be with you always
love Jedi Nate.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
Wow, Wow, Yeah, I know that's a very beautiful message,
Jed Nate, thank you for setting it in.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
Thank you so much. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Yeah, and uh, you know, like we mentioned at the
end of our part one thing. You know, there's stuff
that's going on outside of us, but you know, when
you there just goes shows the beautiful and the powerfulness
of art. And even though the show is ten plus
years old, it's like it still resonates because the characters
and the themes and it are so authentic, and obviously

(44:26):
the authenticity that you are brought to it as performers
carries through, and then as you grow, the show can
kind of grow along with you, even though the story
hasn't technically changed, and emails like that from Jedi Nate
or are clear evidence of that. So I just felt
like that was a really beautiful way for us to
wrap up this awesome another awesome fan Q and A
and these these questions are amazing.

Speaker 5 (44:48):
The amazing.

Speaker 1 (44:49):
How cool is oh sorry, go ahead, guy, how cool
is that to? I mean, just talking to all you
guys that that's something again every week that someone looking
forward to. I know, the things I look forward to
every week. Like, I don't know if I've sat back
into that at all yet about this because I'm still
like figuring out the format of it all. But it's

(45:11):
so sweet that this is becoming a staple of people's weekend,
and I think it's really cool like that someone like
Jedi Nate articulates and that other people are enjoying this
every week just us reliving at all.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
That's basically what I was going to say. It's just
that it's so touching. I love doing these que Andy
episodes just because of course we love to hear from
the fans and that that part's always fun. But like I,
like you were saying, Taylor, like that this you know,
people are like, oh, I listened to this on my

(45:45):
morning walk, or I listen to this on my morning commute,
or me and my son listen to this every you know,
whatever it is, it's it's really touching that people are
tuning in and listening and enjoying us share these you know,
sometimes ridiculous stories and anecdotes and memories and stuff, because
I mean, I think we're having fun. But it's it's

(46:07):
it's like icing on the cake that anyone actually wants
to listen to let's talk about this stuff. So thank
you guys for listening and hanging out with us.

Speaker 3 (46:17):
And you know, more to come, definitely more to come,
lots and lots more, well, thank you all.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
I love hanging out with you all obviously, and you
know that's that's the great bonus of this whole thing.
We just get at least these people get to hang
out with us with the episodes, but then we get
to have these these like weekly or whenever we can
schedule them. We get to hang out here and do
the whole thing. But there's more to come, like Vanessa said,
like everybody's saying, and like there's another there's much bigger

(46:46):
journey that we're going to have, and we can't wait
to take it with all of you. And and we're
always so honored and thrilled to hear from all of you,
and we really love and appreciate your support and it
never goes unnoticed. But so then we'll be back next
week per usual, and Taylor signed for the magic Words.

Speaker 4 (47:06):
Cue of the music.
