Share another story with you. I've shared this from time
to time, but we were in the Bahamas on family vacation.
Pastor Karen, the children family, We were all in the Bahamas,
and we took a trip out to an island for
a day to enjoy the beaches there and the food,
et cetera. And some of us went snorkeling, and I

(01:39):
had a snorkel and I just wanted to swim out
and just enjoy the sights. And so I started swimming
away from the shore. It was by myself, and I
was enjoying it so much I forgot, you know, how
far I swam out. I didn't realize that I was
close to a mile out from the shore. There was
still smaller island nearby. And I stopped turn around and

(02:06):
looked and saw how far away I was from the shore.
And I started hyperventilating all of a sudden, trying to
catch my breath. And what was happening. Fear was coming in.
And I could have let it impair my judgment and
start panicking and doing other things. I could allow it

(02:27):
to paralyze my reason, all right, and selfishness it was,
I would by myself. So what I did was and
the Holy Spirit said to me, He said, do you
want to live or do you want to die? There
are times when I heard the voice of God in
a very distinct way, that was one of them. Okay,

(02:48):
do you want to live or do you.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Want to die?

Speaker 4 (02:51):
And immediately my response, I want to live. So all
of a sudden, that's all I heard, And all of
a sudden, because my my goggles was getting fogged up
and all of that, I calmed down some of the
seawater to wash out my goggles so I could see clearly.

(03:11):
And then I learned a little trick that if you
use your saliva and put it inside the goggles and
wipe it, use it to clean all right, it'll keep
it from fogging up. I put everything back on and
then I started floating and swimming, floating on my back,
taking my time back to shore. I could have paneled,

(03:37):
you know, panicked and allowed fear to take over and rule.
But I made a choice. And you got to remember
you have a choice. You're in control. The devil will
try to convince you that you're not in control, and
you surrender and become a victim of your circumstance. That
is not the spirit that God has given you. He's

(03:57):
given you a spirit of power, of love, power, and
of a sound mind, self control in any given situation.
So presence of mind, presence of God, we're going to
bring them together. Let's continue by talking about the presence
of God and how it relates the presence of mind.

(04:20):
All right, because there I was able to hear the
voice of the Holy Spirit and didn't allow fear to
overwhelm me. Pamela allowed the Holy Spirit to give her
wisdom and how to respond to the situation that she
was in because she was thinking unselfishly, thinking lovingly about
her parents.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
All right.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
But there's a definition of terms that I think important
here because when we think of the presence of God,
it relates to a Hebrew word panim pa ni y
m or you may see it in some concordances pa
n i am. I'm going to eventually write it on

(04:58):
the board. There's a difference between that as an expression
of the presence of God. There are three things that
you find in scripture and often we're not sure and
you need to make a distinction between these three things.
There is the hand of God, and you've heard this

(05:21):
expression the hand of God. Okay, I don't know how
I did that, but praise the Lord, good stuff.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Are you sure?

Speaker 6 (05:30):
No?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Cancel?

Speaker 4 (05:31):
I'm good technology cut that out. Okay, let's try again. Ah,
you see, you learn the rules stay away from the edge.
So there's the hand of God.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
There is also the.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Finger of God in scripture, and there is also the
face of God in scripture. And they each mean something different.
They all were to God's presence in special ways. All right,
So let me give you a passage of scripture one

(06:10):
Peter five, six seven.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Humble yourselves.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
You've heard this before, therefore, and if you want to
know what the therefore is, therefore, just read the verses
previous prior verses. All right, Humble yourselves therefore under the
mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time
He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him,

(06:38):
because He cares for you. Be sober minded, be watchful.
Not beautiful language. But notice Peter speaks of the hand
of God. You will find in the Old Testament where
the hand of God is extended to the earth. Into situations.

(06:58):
You will find where the hand of God is referenced.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
So let's talk about that very quickly.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
The hand of God, all right, in scripture, such as
in Firs Peter and other places, all right, is a
general reference to the omnipotence of God. It's a general
reference to the power of God, to God's mighty power,
general to God's omnipotence, and you know that means He's

(07:32):
all powerful. So this has to do. It's a general
reference to God's power, the fact that he is all powerful.
To submit yourself or humble yourself under the hand of
God is to submit to God's power, to the power
of God, to the omnipotence of God, the finger of God.

(07:56):
Interesting texts shows up in several places, and I'd like
to go to the first plot, but in the book
of Exodus, and of course this is the confrontation that
Moses has in Egypt with Pharaoh and his magicians.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Let's go to it. Exodus eight sixteen.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Then the Lord said to Moses, say to Aaron, stretch
out your staff and strike the dust of the earth,
so that it may become gnats in all the land
of Egypt. And they did so. Aaron stretched out his
hand and his staff and struck the dust of the earth,
and there were gnats on man and beast. All the
dusts of the earth became gnats in all the land

(08:45):
of Egypt. Egypt verse eighteen. The magicians tried their secret
arts to produce gnats, but they could not. So there
were gnats on man and beast. Then the magician said
to Pharaoh, this is the finger of God. But Pharaoh's
heart was heartened and he would not listen to them.

(09:08):
As the Lord said. Notice this is even Pharaoh's magicians
in Egypt. If you wan't to know anything about Egyptian culture,
Egyptian mythology, Egyptian.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Religious practices, etc.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
All right, they understood the elements and the power of
the elements. Remember, God was not only going up against Pharaoh,
but he was also going up against.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
The gods of Egypt.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
And boy, we'll talk about that in spiritual war for
invisible war class. So the finger of God is expressed
here in example Deuteronomy, chapter nine, verse ten. And the
Lord gave me the two tablets of stone written with
the finger of God, the commandments that Moses was receiving. Right,

(09:56):
they were written with what the finger of God, And
on them were all the words that the Lord had
spoken with you on the mountain out of the midst
of the fire on the day of Assembly. So now
we see the finger of God, not just in the
manifestation of these gnats that the magicians of Egypt could

(10:20):
not replicate, but identified as something greater than their power,
the finger of God. But now we see it also
here that it is the finger of God that wrote
on the tablets of Stone the commandments that Moses presented
to the children of Israel. It is found in the

(10:41):
Book of Daniel. Remember the writing on the wall that
was a warning, a prophetic warning of the fall of
the Babylonian Empire and its leadership. And moving to the
Meado Persian Empire. All right, and how about the Gospel
of Luke chapter eleven, where Jesus is being accused of
casting out demons by the power of Belsiebob.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
What does Jesus say?

Speaker 4 (11:05):
He says, if I, with the finger of God cast
out devils, then the Kingdom of God has come to you.
Surely the kingdom or the authority the power of God has.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Come to you.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
So what is the difference between hand of God and
the finger of God? And notice the hand is general,
the finger becomes specific.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I'll see it again.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
The hand is God is a general reference to God's
omnipotence and power, but the finger of God refers to
the direct intervention of God's power in human affairs. So
those were three situations where it wasn't just the hand
of God, the overall omnipotence of power of God. Made

(11:52):
reference to this was specific and whenever God specifically engages
in human off the finger of God is at work.
It is specific direct intervention of God. Now the face
of God, let me put this here, direct intervention of

(12:16):
God's power in human affairs. Even the magicians of Egypt
could identify that God was personally involved in what was
going on, in the power match that was going on,
and they knew that they were no match for God.

(12:37):
The general reference to the power of God understood the
finger of God, the direct intervention of God, and we
could see that throughout history, and I could share with you,
and we'll share with you where the finger of God
was at work in human history in the twentieth century
and in the twenty first century, the direct intervention of God,

(12:57):
because you can tell, because there were certain signs that
God would directly involve in what was happening in human affairs,
politically and socially in the world in the twentieth century
and in the last twenty years of this twenty first century.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
That leads us with the faith of God.

Speaker 2 (13:21):

Speaker 4 (14:00):
So we've got the hand of God, which is general
reference to God's omnipotence and power, the finger of God
when that power is directed to a specific human situation.
All right, the direct intervention of God's power into human affairs.
And now we have the face of God. And that's

(14:22):
what we really want to take time to unpack, which
we don't have the time to do today. I hope
that you were blessed by this, the eyes of your
understanding being open and the wisdom of God can come in,
and your mind being renewed. God has not given us
the spirit of fear, not adaptive alertness. That's not what

(14:43):
I'm talking about. That's natural to us to be aware
of danger when it comes. Now, I'm talking about the
fear that comes from our wound, from a wounded, broken humanity,
The fear that is a result of our fallen, sinful condition,
the fear that impairs our judgment, paralyzes our reason, and

(15:05):
ultimately leads to selfishness. God has not given us that spirit.
He's given us the spirit of love, power, and self control,
a sound mind, presence of mind.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
And we're going to.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Practice presence of mind with the presence of God this year,
and you're going to see great things happen. Minister Misha
is going to come lead you out there. If you
have never received Jesus Christ in your heart, He's going
to share a few words and lead you in prayer.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Then I'll be back. Hallelujah.

Speaker 7 (15:46):
We close every service by saying Jesus's Lord, but we
can't close this service without giving someone the opportunity to
make him lord. Presence of mind is the ability to
act calmly and wisely in a difficult situation. Life is
a series of difficult situations. Left to ourselves, our minds
will be filled with fear. But God gives us a

(16:07):
mind that is ruled by his love, his power, and
his wisdom. God gives us a sound mind. You may
need that mind today as the storms of life swell
around you. It's easy to feel like you're losing your mind.
Life can be disorienting. Now there are things we should fear.
Don't walk off the cliff, But anxiety over things that

(16:29):
haven't happened it doesn't serve us. Fear of being who
we've been called to be will bind us. Sin results
in hiding. But God in our sin, like he did,
saying Adam, where are you, will remind us where and
who we are? Israel said it. Sometimes we cry out
to God as if he was far away, and God says,
I'm right here. We might say I don't know what

(16:51):
to do, and God is saying, let me tell you.
You may feel alone today, you may feel stuck. You
may feel confused and afraid. You may be trying to
people that are wearing you out because you're trying to
do it on your own. And that's where an imminent
transcendent God changes everything. A God who loves us enough
to meet us where we are as we are, and

(17:11):
loves us too much to leave us there, will walk
into your situation, speak to it and draw you out
of it. We want God to meet us on the
beach in a chaise lounge and hand us a drink
with an umbrella in it. But the deep water is
where we need him most. If you need a deep
water intervention today, then we would like to share with
you some good news.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
The good news is.

Speaker 7 (17:33):
That a holy God so loved a rebellious world that
he sent his only begotten son to live a sinless life,
die in our place, and rise from the grave, conquering death.
And in so doing he paid the price for our
sin and gives us a right to everlasting life. The
good news is that God loves you despite all your flaws.

(17:56):
The good news is that God can extend the reach
of your hand. The good news is that God's hand,
his finger, and his face can turn toward us. The
good news is that we can know Him today. We
can be saved. Romans ten to nine says that if
you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe
in your heart that God has raised him from the dead,
you will be saved. If you'd like to do that,

(18:19):
just repeat after me, Father, I repent of my sin.
I believe Christ died on the cross and rose again
to pay the price for my sin. I confess him
as Lord and Savior, and your word says I'm born again.

(18:44):
I am your child and you are my God. Thank
you Lord, Thank you Lord. I pray in Jesus's name.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Amen.

Speaker 7 (18:54):
Family. We believe that if you prayed that prayer, you
are born again. But change is not an event, it's
a pray. Now the journey in Christ begins. We have
some information we'd like to give you, so text or
call the number on the screen. May God continue to
bless you. Your life will never be the same.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
Thank you, minister Misha.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
And of course, if you prayed that prayer, you have
just started a new journey in new life, a journey
in eternal life, the life that God paid the ultimate
price by giving his only begotten son. You and I
should have access to that eternal life. So let me

(19:42):
speak to next Sunday. We're supposed to start having our
regular services. But according to the data and look, I
believe in miracles and science. God and science and sometimes
doctors are the miracle that God uses. Don't send me
any emails. Don't waste your time, all right, because we're

(20:05):
going to exercise wisdom new York was the epicenter for
the beginning of COVID, and we fought through it hard
in twenty twenty. So we're going to be wise. So
we're going to get upset with me. We're simply going
to delay a week what we were going to start
next Sunday. That includes spiritual warfare, all right, and or

(20:30):
invisible war So we're delaying it one week. We're going
to start it the week after and continue to monitor
things because look, you know, thirty two thousand cases in
a seven day period leading up to December twenty ninth.
That's a lot, folks. And we're not operating in fear.

(20:51):
We're operating in wisdom because the first rule is the
imago day, the image of God, the life and dignity
of the human person, and our responsibility to preserve that life.
So thank you for being with us today. Thank you
for continuing to pray for us, our staff, and we

(21:12):
have an incredible staff, and I just thank God for
our staff. The sacrifices you have made over the last
two years. While many people stayed safely in their homes,
you kept coming, you kept doing, you kept sacrificing. Some
of you got sick in the process. But thank you

(21:34):
for your faith, your love for God, and this ministry
that has been entrusted to our care. Let's close with
a word of prayer. Father, thank you that you are love,
You are light, and out of that love springs life,

(21:55):
and you came that we might have life, and that
we might have it more abundantly. Thank you for the sacrifice.
Thank you for the victory, not only yours on the cross,
but and the resurrection, but ours by relationship, because you

(22:18):
made it possible that we could be born again, born
from above, born of God. And you said, whatsoever is
born of God overcomes the world. Thank you, Father, bless us.
Now as we leave this place, but never your presence,

(22:41):
we say this, Jesus is Lord. We believe it, we
proclaim it, and we're seeing it come to pass. Until
next time, be well, stay safe. We love you God.

Speaker 6 (22:55):
