The Kingdom of God the Kingdom of Heaven use synonymously
in scripture, is simply God's government, God's order, God's design,
God's way of doing and being. So we celebrate the
Kingdom of God.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I want to look at the tension between separation and assimilation.
Separation and assimilation. And this is not a new tension
for Christians. We have lived in this tension from the
very beginning of Christianity, and it even goes back to
our Jewish roots in that Israel, as long as it
(01:35):
was an independent nation, did not have to deal with
issues of assimilation, so they were able to maintain their
identity as a people. But of course, for reasons of
internal strife and struggle, they became divided into the Northern Kingdom.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
But they entered a struggle.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
And got divided and ended up in to captivity the
Northern Kingdom and the Kingdom of Judah, and they ended
up in captivity in Babylon. And when they ended up
in captivity in Babylon, if you read Jeremiah chapter twenty nine,
if you're familiar with Jeremiah twenty nine.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
He says to God, says to his people through.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
The prophet Jeremiah, thank you, settle down, build houses, marry
your children, plant gardens. And then he says, pray for
the peace and prosperity of the city, because if it prospers,
you will prosper.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
And that's quite.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Close to the New Testament admonition to pray for kings
for potent takes for those in power, all right, because
our peace is dependent upon these people in positions of power.
And that is so true today around the world as
(02:58):
we as Christians live out our Christianity. Christianity is the
most seventy five percent of religious persecution around the world
is perpetrated against Christians. So we're the most persecuted religion
in the world today. And we'll get a chance to
(03:19):
talk about how Jesus really spoke to these things in
his parables in the Gospel of Matthew.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
But it was in captivity that.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
The Jews had to figure out how to maintain their
Jewish identity and at the same time assimilate into Babylonian society.
And of course from Babylon it went to the Meds,
the Persians, the Macedonians, who are the Greeks, and then
(03:54):
the Romans. They had to understand how do we maintain
our Jewish identity, our relationship with Yahweh, our traditions, our
spiritual practices that at the same time assimilate into the culture.
And it's no different for us, because we as Christians
(04:14):
are different. Are y'all scaring me?
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Now?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
I got four amens are we different. If any man
be in Christ, any man or woman be in Christ,
they are or what new creature? Old things have passed
the way all things have become new, as we believe
in Jesus, we pass from death into life, from darkness
(04:38):
into light. And therefore we must not be conformed to
this world, because the same world that demands uniqueness also
wants conformity. But the Bible says, be not conformed to
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Right,
(05:03):
And the renewing of our mind is not just memorizing scripture.
The renewing of our mind means changing our whole orientation
of life. What you thought believed about life before now
undergoes a radical change.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
What you believe about God, what you believe about what.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
It means to be human, what you believe about what
it means to live in this world. All of those
things change. So it's not just memorizing scripture. It is
a radical change in your worldview, which changes your relationship
with God, your relationship with yourself, your relationship with people,
your relationship with places and things.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
All of that comes into play.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Your lens gets adjusted and you see things differently, so
The renewing of your mind is a process that hits
us on a deep and profound psychological level, emotional level.
All right, will is exposed to new thinking and ways
of choosing. All of that changes. So we are called
(06:08):
to live the Christian difference. We are called to live
the Christian difference. How we deal with life, how we
deal with issues, should be different from the way the
world deals with life. What we believe about the dignity,
life and worth of the human person should be different.
(06:31):
When a world says that we are not worth anything,
So we marginalize, discriminate against some people, disenfranchise some people
based on their ethnicity or their race, or the color
of their skin, or their class, their economic status, their
educational status in the world. There are all of these
distinctions that create divisions. Right, So in christ we think differently,
(06:56):
we approach life differently. We are called to live the
Christian different But it creates at tension, especially when you
have scriptures. It says, come out from among them, be
ye separate saith, the Lord touch not the unclean thing.
What fellowship has light with darkness, Christ with belile. And
then you have the other side of that that says
that go out into all the world and preach the
(07:17):
Gospel to every creature.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Be your brother's keeper.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Submit yourself to governmental systems and structures because they are
ordained of God. And then it goes all and on.
And you read these two things, you get caught in
attension between them if.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
You lack understanding.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
We are called to live the difference, the Christian difference
in our marriage and what we understand marriage to be amen.
It's more than just a civil union. It's a spiritual bond.
It's a sacrament. Right. What we understand about men, women, children,
all of that is different. Jesus said, we are in
(07:52):
the world, but not of the world, so we are
not produced. We don't originate. Who we are now does
not a rig from the world.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Jesus said, if my.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Kingdom was of this world, all right, my servants would
have fought. Why because this world is about force and
violence and aggression. He said, My kingdom is not of
this world. It doesn't originate from this world's values and
philosophies and way of thinking. The Kingdom of God, the
Kingdom of Heaven, you synonymously in scripture, is simply God's government,
(08:24):
God's order, God's desire, God's way of.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Doing and being.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
So we celebrate the Kingdom of God, and that kingdom
is the primary lens through which we see and understand LFE.
That's why Jesus said, seek first the Kingdom of God
in his righteousness, his righteous way of doing and being,
and all of the things that other people seek apart
(08:51):
from that content will be what added to you. In
other words, when you have a kingdom mindset and a
kingdom mentality, you attract the things that.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Others have to pursue. I'm gonna try that one more time.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
You attract the things others have to pursue because God's
favor is working with you, and God's favor will bring
to you people opportunities, open doors, etc. That take you
into space. Is that when you get their, people are
wondering how did you get into that space? Come on, amen,
(09:29):
this is a good place to say as good priesting.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
It wasn't enough of you. But let's just slide on
this one anyway. So the Kingdom of God is a
way of being, way of doing that.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Is from Heaven. As I shared with you several weeks ago.
You know, in the early early days, I thought the
Kingdom of Heaven was a destination. I thought it was
someplace that I live good here in order to get
to Amen. But that's not true. It was never presented
by Jesus as a death nation. True, when we die
as believers, we are absent from the body but present
(10:04):
with the Lord. So there is that place that we
go to with God until he re establishes his kingdom
fully here on earth. But Kingdom of God, the Kingdom
of Heaven, is a way of life. It's in existence,
a state of mind. It's a way of thinking, it's
a way of doing. It's a way of being which
demonstrates the influence of God on a person's life.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Got it.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
So we are called to live the Christian difference. We
are called to live the Christian difference. So we're in
the world, but not of the world. But it creates
at tension because while we're living our unique Christian identity,
we are still living in this world. We have to
(10:53):
assimilate into the culture and into society because culture holds
us like the ocean holds fish.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
They're totally enveloped by the ocean. Right.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
However, fish don't have to be salty just because they're
enveloped by salt.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Water.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Are you all with me here? So we're in the world.
We're in the culture, We're surrounded by it. We assimilate
into it. You live, work and play next to people
who have other values, sometimes conflicting values. Could be your neighbor,
could be a coworker. Amen, all right, you get on.
(11:35):
You know, when I get on a plane and I travel,
I pray for the pilot. I figured, if anyone needs
my prayers, who needs my prayers on my behalf?
Speaker 1 (11:49):
That pilot.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I don't care what he believes, because I know that
God's influence is not restricted to those who believe. That's
why God can touch someone it's heart who doesn't believe
in him, to open a door for me who does
believe in him. So we're dealing with a big God,
(12:11):
a powerful God. I mean know, we're dealing with a
big God here. Yeah, it is very very important, you
know what. Let me insert this because I was saying
about this yesterday and I mentioned it at the I
had the privilege and honor of being invited to speak
at the women's meeting yesterday and amazing presence.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
They are scary for men.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
I have all those high powered women there in that
room and I was sharing of the generosity of God.
Let me give you a scripture because especially as you're
laying out vision, goals, dreaming all of that, that is
the work of the Holy Spirit in your life as
a believer. Amen, here's a passage for you. Fear not,
(12:55):
little flock. Anybody familiar with the text, or it is
your heavenly Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
You ever hear that? How about this one?
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Now unto him who is able to do exceeding abundantly
above all that we can ask, think or imagine. I'm
near familiar with that text, got it?
Speaker 1 (13:26):
How about this one? I am come that you might have.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Life, and that you might have it more abundantly. For
God so loved the world that he gave his only child,
that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have
ever lasting life. Cattle on a thousand hills A bit
(13:54):
of hyperbole, but true.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Cattle on a thousand hills belong to God.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
The earth is the Lord, the fullness thereof the world.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Those who live in it.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Is nothing that escapes Him and his authority. And God
is benevolent. God is love, and one of the marks
of love is benevolence, the desire to benefit the one loved,
the desire to do good for someone else. Hey, then,
(14:35):
so God is a generous God. I got six believers
in here. God is a generous God. You've heard Laurie
in the video say every Sunday. Now, you can't outgive God.
(14:57):
You can't beat God giving. God is a generous God.
How many have ever been blessed by God? So here
is my advice. Don't insult God with what you ask him.
(15:21):
Make sure that your plans, your goals, your visions are
you and your dreams are consistent with His generosity. Don't
think small, don't dream small.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
You don't get invited.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
By a multi billionaire to dinner and then tell you
to choose.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Whatever restaurant you want. And you want McDonald's.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
And I understand that people do only think to the
level of what they're exposed to. And if all you've
been exposed to is McDonald's, that's where you think. You
need to tuck that McDonald's money away fast, save it,
and then at the end of the month go to
a nice restaurant and start experiencing something beyond what you've
been experiencing, so that when God opens the door of opportunity.
(16:27):
You know how to act. Tell your neighbors, say he's
preaching to you right now. It's all over your face.
You'll hear me up in the balcony. Make sure that
your prayers, your vision, your plans are consistent with the
(16:53):
generosity of God.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
God is a big God. They are Pentecosts. The Holy
Spirit was poured out.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
What happened, visions, dreams that are inspired by the spirit
of God. That makes sense to you. Don't play God cheap.
I do mind mapping. You may know what that is,
you may not know what is. But I simply take ideas, concepts,
(17:26):
put them up and so I can look at all
of them in graphic form. I also do that with business,
so I'll put all of the goals or visions businesses.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
I'll put it up there.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
So I'm involved in so many things, I needed to
step back and do a mind map. So I just
put them all up there, and I started looking and said, wow,
just give you an idea. The expansion of CCC. We're
establishing our Orlando campus, will give you more update information.
We found some property and we're gonna let you know
more about that. So the expansion of CCC. We establish
(18:01):
something called C four, which is an association of churches
and a thousand churches that want to be under our
umbrella and our leadership and our theology.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
They want to come together. And this is globally.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
There is that we're in the process of negotiating a
controlling interest in a twenty four hour Christian television network.
There is this one point two billion dollar development project
that we're happening, that's happening here on this campus.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Are you with me? All right? There is the intersection
that we're doing.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
There's some other things, and I'm looking at all these things.
I said, wow, I need another fifty years. But then
I realize, I know, I appreciate that, but I realized
I don't need it personally. What I simply need is
another five ten years to develop people who will.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Take this into the future.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Establish the systems and structures because right now in my life,
you know, someone came up and asked me so faster,
So what's happening with your life right now? And I
paused and I said, wow, you know what, I just
want to leave something behind and that really expresses where
I'm at. I hope you don't miss the power of
that statement. Because we're here to leave something behind more
(19:23):
than your name on a tree. You want to leave
more than Jeff was here and now he's gone.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
He left his name carried on.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
You want to leave something that's transforming lives.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Amen.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
I want to create wealth that becomes old. It's called
old money. How many know the difference between new money
and old money? Some people's money doesn't. You don't give
it a chance to get old. There are hotels in
Manhattan that the people who go to that hotel, the
(19:58):
word is oh my goes there. That's uptown and downtown.
They're a hotel not giving any names where the people
who go there with new money, right, Beyonce and Jay
Z new money, Michael Bloomberg new money. It gets all
when it's passed from one generation to another. Proverb thirteen
(20:20):
twenty two says a good man A good man leaves
an inheritance to his children's children, so he thinks generationally.
Too often we're just thinking about our next minute.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
And we don't think long term.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
But in God's economy, in the Kingdom of God, you
think differently changes your perspective. So please don't short change God.
We have a big God think big, some people just
think too small. Ah, Come on, give God a.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Good handclap offering for his word credibly here.
