If you don't build a culture of succession and plan
for succession, no matter what industry you're in, no matter
what corporation or organization, then you create by virtue of
not doing it, you create a leadership and a power vacuum.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
But the story of Solomon rising the power is in
the Book of kings.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
So let's go to.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
That so we could learn some things about how God
used the circumstances and situation. David was old, I mean old.
He was old, and this is how they concluded that
he was really old.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
They sent a pretty young woman in to take care
of him, and nothing happened. I read the book. I'm
just telling I didn't write it. I read it. It's
in the book. I think Pastor has gone too far.
It's in the book. There's some things in there that
are disturbing and also surprising.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
So that's how they tested it. They send this young
woman in and she became part of his.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
Group.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
She became his caretaker, his nurse. He had disconnected himself
from leadership. So as a result, it created a leadership vacuum,
also a power vacuum. So you understand when a vacuum
like that is created, there are those who are looking
(02:39):
seeing the vacuum and thinking about filling it. And that's
why if you don't build a culture of succession and
plan for succession, no matter what industry you're in, no
matter what corporation or organization, then you create by virtue
(03:01):
of not doing it, you create a leadership and a
power vacuum, and there's just too many stories, bad stories
of how leadership vacuums were filled.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
So David created that.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
So after a period of time, someone now emerges and says,
we've got to do something about this.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
The first one to emerge is ad.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Of Niger, David's oldest living son, and he decides, since
he is the eldest, that he is going to fill
that power vacuum, and he determines to be king. So
now we have an agenda, We've got some ambition, got
(03:48):
an agenda, we've got some ambition. We've got an individual
who's willing to step out say let's do something. So
how do you know if you want to be king,
you need some support. You can't just step up and
say I'm Kingting gotta have some support. He already had
some political capital personally because he was one of David's sons,
(04:11):
so he did have an advantage, right.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
So what Adonijah.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Does is he reaches out to a military commander who
was the leading one of the leading military commanders and
solicits his support. We're not told what promises he made
to this man, but he simply said, I want you
to support me. I'm gonna be king, so he had
(04:39):
military support. How many know a king needs military absolutely
got to have some troops behind you.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
He also reached down.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
To one of the leading priests and got his endorsement.
Awre you all listening to me representing the religious establishment,
And how many know if you're a candidate, you need
to reach out to the religious establishment because religious establishments on.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
One day of the week speak to quite a few people.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
So through that religious leader, you get to touch all
the lives of the people that that religious leader touches.
Although it's in Israel at this time, there's no difference.
People are the same. Power plays are the same amen
and essentially Ada Nija was making a power play. We
got some intrigue going on here. So what he decides
(05:38):
and his supporters to have a ceremony, a public ceremony
to basically present him self as the new king got it. Essentially,
it was going to be a coronation, and he was
prepared to do it central so that everybody can come
(06:03):
out and celebrate him.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
But God didn't say.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
At Nijah would be the successor to David. God said Solomon.
See and if you, if you, if you were privy
to that prophecy, that prophetic announcement, and and you you
hear about this going on.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
You you start saying, whoa, what's going on? Where's God?
What's happening?
Speaker 4 (06:27):
You know how we do where's God? Because things are
not shaping up in the direction of the answer that
God promised. You know, when your life and circumstances don't
line up and you start questioning, God promise you the job,
and someone else is in there talking to the boss.
(06:48):
And God made sure that the windows of the office
with glassed as you could see what's going on, Tell you,
tell you, and everything talking about somebody you know. Come on,
we have a power play no different than what goes
on in our world today. Come on, you want to
be president of the United States. You need supporters. You
(07:12):
have to decide what party, what ticket you're gonna run on.
And let's tell you something. Let me reduce politics to
two simple things.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
You ready, where are two simple questions? Where are the votes?
And where is the money? Got it? And if the.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Majority of people are voting on this and you line
up with this, you'll have their votes. And if the
majority of the money is supporting that, you'll have the money.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
And then you craft a campaign to get those votes
and to get that money.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
And when you're crafting that campaign, you're gonna have to
decide some hard questions.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
I disagree with that, then don't run.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Because if the only way you can see yourself getting
elected is to hold on to one narrow set of ideas,
then you're simply running to make a statement. And if
you got that kind of money, fine, But if you're
looking to win, you think differently.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
Are you with me?
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (08:27):
And I'm just in general, this is the hard truth here, folks. Right,
So a politicians saying.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Okay, what are people voting on? All right?
Speaker 4 (08:34):
Because I'm crafting my campaign, so I want to make sure, Okay,
they stand for that. I'm gonna stand for that. That
they stand for that too, they'll vote me. I'll stand
for that too. All money money will go to pay
for that stand I'll stand for that. So I get
that money so I can stand for that. I mean
saying what I'm talking about here. It's unfortunately, but that's
(08:54):
what really goes on. There are some who said have
a certain certain ideal and they say, okay, we're gonna
push for that, but they're also thinking, can we get
people to finance that can we get people to vote
for that. A lot of thinking has to go in
before you step out and announce that you're running. And
(09:17):
some people don't care. They just announce it. Anyway. Have
you watched the news the last two weeks and what
are they banking on.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
That?
Speaker 4 (09:26):
They're not the only ones that want this particular person
who's in power out of power, so maybe they can
stir something up enough to replace that individual. And so
the power play at Anaisha says, I'm the best candidate.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
I should be king. But then a woman hears about this.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
I'm telling you, oh yeah, bath cheaper. You remember her,
especially this part of her name. Guess who her son is, Solomon,
So mama is going to bat. She realizes she needs power.
(10:15):
There's someone else who's paying attention to what's going on politically.
At the same time, a prophet named Nathan and he
was important because.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
He's a power broker. People look to him. He had
a lot of influence.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Because he's the one who challenged David concerning Basheba. He
stood with that prophetic mantle of authority, authenticity. He was
the real deal, and people looked at him with respect.
So that's the kind of power broker you want on
your side because when you're putting together a coalition, you
want influencers. Right. The prophet Nathan power broker, so he
(10:53):
sees what's going on, and Basheba and Nathan team up.
They want to get Solomon and in position of power.
They also need more supporters, so they reach out to
another commander of the military and get his support.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
Coalitions growing, they reach out to another leading priests and
get his support.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
So now the religious establishment has to choose between the two.
She's also one of David's wives, so she has her
own personal political power. Now we've got two going for
the same throne, two coalitions.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
Which one do you think is most powerful? I go
with the woman every time.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
Who's going to influence David most his wife or his son.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
So they get together and go to David.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Now he's all he's not thinking as sharp as he
was when he was warrior king. And they go back
and they go to David and they say, David, remember
when you said that God chose Solomon.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
To be your heir.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
It didn't matter whether David remembered or not. In that scenario,
his memory would be whatever she said.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
And guess what That's exactly what happened, and he agreed.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
So now added to the coalition is the former king himself.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
So what does she plan?
Speaker 4 (12:38):
A public ceremony just like Ada Nija, a coronation, but
she's going to put Solomon on David's mule, so in
case David can't make it, his mule can make it.
And with Solomon on top of David's mule, it symbolizes David's.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
Come on, David's endorsement. Woman is stacking the debt. She
got it.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
So they plan and announced the the caronation. They announced
the ceremony at.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
A finds out.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
His supporters scatter. They can't deal with this coalition. They run.
So the ceremony takes place and Solomon is presented as king.
Got it, So what does Solomon do? He looks for
(13:41):
and finds the military commander who supported at and he
assassinates him.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
De means dead. He finds the priest, the leader, what
does d mean?
Speaker 4 (14:04):
He gets Idonizer and he says, look, if you're not
a threat to me, I'll let you live, but if
you become a threat.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
D they are twenty nineteen version.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Adanizer chills out, but David puts him on house arrest.
Then Idonizer comes up with a plan. He asks to
marry the woman who was nursing David because if he
marries her now, it gives him some political power because
(14:46):
he's marrying one of David's wives.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
Solomon says, what.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
He sees it as a political move, So Solomon take
him out.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
Then Solomon.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Has a meeting with the king of Egypt and marries
his daughter. This way Egypt won't attacked because he'll be
attacking his own flesh and blood. It was a political
marriage and also a trade marriage because when Salomon started
(15:34):
his development, building his programming, all right, he would need
a supply of sedo that was in Lebanon, that was
under Egypt's power, So it was also trade was economic decision.
But most importantly, Egypt had the greatest military. So not
only did he secure all of this support in his coalition,
(15:56):
but now he brought Egypt and its power economy in
his coalition. So Solomon became king. You think, you see,
but how did he become king? Yes, God said he
was going to be king. But it's God associated with
all that murder, assassination, house arrests. Is God associated with
(16:24):
all that is God associated with all that. Really, you're
making God.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
An accomplice to this. This was a cool deta. It
was a coup one pretty rightful heir because he was
the oldest.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
At a Nisa emerged, put together, a coalition moved in,
and then this coalition stepped in.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
And overthrew the first coalition.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Did God do that? Some things God willed, some things
God permitted. God saw the whole play. He knew that
these ambitions, these agendas, these fears came together to form
(17:16):
exactly what he needed in order to see David come
in I'm sorry, Solomon come into power. Do you know
what he does with your circumstances and situation. He allows
certain things to happen because with those things happening, it
(17:36):
sets you up for his will and purposes to be
accomplished in your life. He sets up who you're gonna meet,
when you're gonna meet them, how you're gonna meet them,
the circumstances, and sometimes he'll let you meet somebody and
they don't even play a role until ten years later. Yeah, teenager,
(18:00):
I played cyo basketball and we played ball in this neighborhood.
We would come play at the gym right over Landon
Boulevard School. When we won, we ran home. When we lost,
we walked home. We stopped to eat. He had time
(18:22):
when you lose. One of the neighbors used to bring
us over to Bessie Head Pool.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
To go swimming. It was back in the sixties.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
I had no idea that later in life I would
be here building something like this and building something that's
going to change the future of this community.
Speaker 5 (18:49):
I had no idea that I was associated with that.
But God just let me stop.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
By just to expose me and make me aren't familiar
with my destiny, even though I had no idea what
that destiny was. How maney under fam what I'm talking about.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
And something We experience moments like that and we say, oh, DejaVu,
how many been there where? And it's like, wait a minute,
I saw this.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
I even knew what was going to happen next, but
I didn't know what quick enough to say it was
gonna happen. People situations, circumstances that God arranges throughout your life,
allowing you to touch certain things, touch certain people, only
to bring them back up again. If we bring it
(19:39):
down to a very minute level, having your attention drawn
to a book, you buy it and don't read it
until next year, and all of a sudden, somehow that
book and then the information in it relates to something.
Come on, come on, come on, it's God uchustrading, setting
(20:04):
things up, knowing, foreseeing, knowing what you would need, when
you would need it, how you would need it, answering
not only your prayers, but people who prayed for you,
people who prayed not for you, but for certain changes
to take place, and you were the one that would
be an answer to their prayer.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
You didn't know them, they didn't know you, You didn't
know the situation. And here we are.
