Speaker 2 (01:02):
This chapter three, verses one through ten, from the New
Living Translation. These words are recorded Therein one day, Moses
was tending the flock of his father in law, jeath Row,
the priest of Midian. He left the flock far into
the wilderness and came to Sanni II, the mountain of God. There,
the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a
blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared
(01:25):
in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it
didn't burn up. This is amazing, Moses said to himself,
Why isn't that bush burning up? I must go see it.
When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look,
God called to him from the middle of the bush.
Moses Moses, I wish I had chace hestoned voice at
(01:49):
this time. Here I am, Moses replied, Do not come
any closer. The Lord warned, take off your sandals, for
you are standing on holy ground. I am out of
your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,
and the God of Jacob. When Moses heard this, he
covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.
(02:10):
Then the Lord told him, I have certainly seen the
oppression of my people in Egypt. I've heard their cries
of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I'm
aware of their sufferings. So I have come down to
rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead
them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious
(02:31):
lamb It is a land fluent with milk and honey,
the land where the Cannonites to hit tys, the Amberries, Perizites,
hit Vice, and Jebryshites now live. Look the cry of
the people of Israel has reached me, and I've seen
how harshly the Egyptians abused them. Now go for I
am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Israel out of Egypt.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Now go for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You
must lead my people Israe out of Egypt. I want
to preach to your heart from this subject this morning.
May I have your attention?
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Please? May I have your attention? Please? Life was finally
normal for Moses.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I mean the mistakes and the murder of his younger
days were now behind him. He's a family man now
with a wife and two sons. Even has a stable
job as he is in business with his father in law,
jeath Row.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
I tell you life. Moses was experiencing a life of
stress and ease.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
And then it happened Jesus interrupted his normal life and
asked him a question.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
May I have your attention please? How did Jesus do it? Well?
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Jesus got his attention whipped a burning bush, because verse
two says, there the Angel of the Lord, and that's
why we believe it is Jesus himself. The Angel of
the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from
the middle of a bush, and Moses stared in amazement.
(04:21):
Jesus caught his attention, whip this burning bush. And when
Jesus caught his attention whip this burning bush, the Bible
said that Moses is going to stop everything that he
was doing verse three in order to see this event.
The Bible says that it's an amazement. Moses said to himself,
why isn't that bush burning up? I must go and
(04:44):
see about it. When I thought about the fact that
the Lord caught his attention and Moses stumped everything in
order to see about that bush, I thought about our
own experiences in twenty twenty, because you must agree with me,
Brothers and sisters, twenty twenty started out so normal. There
was all of the indicators that it was going to
(05:07):
be a successful.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Unstoppable year.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Then the coronavirus hit Brothers and Sisters, and literally everything
came to a screeching halt.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
And I believe that even in the time of everything
being on.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Shut down that Jesus Christ wants to get our attention.
He wants to get our attention, brothers and sisters, and
COVID nineteen has done just that. Matter of fact, Jesus,
this Easter has the attention of the entire world. I
don't know if you have thought about it, y'all, but
(05:45):
even when they were talking about rain this morning, I
tell you, as a Baptist preacher, y'all, I get.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Scared when it rained.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
We don't have folks that are waterproofing, so they stay home.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Well, look what the Lord said, and you can stay
home and steal see Easter. Matter of fact, there will
be more people.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
That will watch Easter, that will hear the gospel message
this day than at any.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Time in our history globally. Why.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Because the Lord has gotten our attention. This is the
first Easter I know that we don't have to compete
within a sporting event. We don't have to compete with
the shopping malls, with any of the meeting. The Lord
has gotten our attention. And I believe that since the
Lord has gotten our attention, let's give him every thing
(06:41):
he's asking him for. That's what I want to hang
my hat on this morning, that since the Lord has
gotten our attention, since he has put us down in
our home, since he has taken us away from our job,
since he has brought about an interruption in our normal affairs,
let's give him everything that he is asking for. You see,
(07:04):
I still see the burning bush even in twenty twenty.
What was that burning bush for Moses? What is that
burning bush for us?
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Even today?
Speaker 2 (07:14):
I want you to know Brown, that vernon bush was
an interruption. It was an interruption because Jesus won't Moses attention.
In Verse one, Moses has teimmed him the flocks of
his father in law jet Throw. He is doing business
as normal, and yet the burning bush happened in order
(07:34):
from the law to catch his attention while was at
the case where because Moses had become too comfortable, he
had forgotten about of those back in Egypt and the
crisis that they were going through. That Moses had become
too complacent. I hear it is he had forgotten about
(07:54):
his own call, and God had called him to be
the shepherd of his people. At Mos have settled for
being the shepherd of some flock. I tell you Moses
had become even too conformed, had become at ease and
embracing this new life of ease, and God had to
get his attention by sending him an interruption. I believe
(08:18):
God simp that interruption to Moses simply because he wanted
Moses to pause and rethink. He wanted Moses to pause
and rethink. I believe, brothers and sister, that God has
sympto burning butts even to us right now, because He
want us to pause and rethink. Now, if you were
(08:39):
like me earlier this year, I was making my New
Year's resolution. Matter of fact in the staff meeting, I said,
you know what, I want to be able to slow
down and smell the roses. Were you're talking about slowing? Damn,
God has brought us to a pause. He has brought
us to a stop because, you see, sometime in order
(08:59):
to get our attention, God will use even our pocket books.
God will use even physical pain and problem not in
order to give us to simply pause and take a breathing.
Not only to Paul's brothers and sisters, but to refink things,
to refink our family. Many of us are spending time
(09:21):
with our family now that we haven't spent in a
long time. To rethink our faith, to refink even our
future and our eternal destiny. This is the time and
interruption has taken place in order for us to pause
and rethink. It was an interruption, brothers and sisters, because
the Lord wanted his attention. But not only was it
(09:42):
an interruption because Jesus wanted his attention. The burning bush
was an introduction because Jesus wanted Moses acknowledgement. He wanted
Moses acknowledgement. You see, moves that had been able to
escape judgment. He had been able to start a new
life and to a new environment, victim that he was
(10:04):
in charge. And yet look what the Lord is wanted
to do. In verse six, the Bible says, the Lord
is going to introduce himself to Moses. I am the
God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God
of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Moses covered his face,
brothers and sisters, because the Bible said he was afraid
(10:26):
to look at God. You see, sometimes, brothers and sisters,
we think that we are the ones in control. We
think that we are in charge over our own destiny.
I've heard, I've heard, even in my mental mind, people
saying that I'm in charge, and I'm living lodge. And
(10:47):
yet God sometimes will send an interruption, a burning bush,
in order to remind us who's really lived in charge.
Sometimes he would do it brothers and sisters, in order
to remind to us of what's really important.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
And so the Lord.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Took this time in order to introduce himself to Moses.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Who is God? Who is God?
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Thank you doctor Locrish for just reminding us of who
God is.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
God.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
The Lord Jesus took the time and Exodus chapter three
to introduce himself to Moses. And here's what he's saying.
I am the covenant God who keeps my promises. He's
the covenant God who keeps his promises.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Look what he says.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
I'm the God of your father, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I'm the God of Jacob.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
When he said that, what he was saying is the
same covenant that I made with Abraham, the same covenant
that I kept through Isaac and through Jacob. I'm still
keeping those same promises today. Aren't you glad that we
serve the God who is the God of covenant, who
keeps his promise. At if he kept Big Mama, if
(12:01):
he kept Big Daddy. He can still keep you in
the midst of what you're going through right now. He's
the covenant God. But not only he's the covenant God
who keeps his promises, but he's the compassionate.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
God who sees our pain. Verse seven, Verse seven.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
The Lord is woman to tell Moses, I've certainly seen
the oppression of my.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
People in Egypt.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
I've heard the crimes of damn distressed, and I am
aware damn suffering. Oh, brothers and sister, that I need
you to know him this morning, that God is the compassionate.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
God who sees our ever rare pain.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
The Right of Hebrew is going to say this way
that we have a high priest, y'all that's not detached
from us. No, no, but we have a high priest
who have felt every last one of our infirmitany. He
came into our existence. He knows what we're going through.
He's the God of all comfort, for the am the
Father of mercy. He's a compassionate God. And I need
(13:05):
somebody to know this morning that is because of his compassion,
because of his great faithfulness, they are knew every morning.
Thank God, that he's the compassionate God. He's the covenant God.
But being he's the capable God who has all power,
He's the capable God of all, who has all power.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Verse eight. Look what he says, I've come down.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I come down to rescue them from the power of
the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their
own fertile and spacious land. He says, I'm the capable God.
I got power to deliver. I got power to rescue that.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
And when I.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Bring them out, I'm not just just gonna bring them out,
but I'm gonna bring them into a land flowing with
milk and honey.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Ain't that's something, brothers?
Speaker 2 (13:59):
And so he had power enough to take him out
of one lamb, had power enough to keep them through
the wilderness experience, and then power enough to put them
in a land flowing with milk and hiding. Oh he
is the Greek God. Thank God for the introduction. Thank
God for the introduction. Why the introduction? I believe God
(14:23):
introduced himself to Moses because he wanted Moses to prostrate
and to refocus on him. He wanted Moses to prostrate
and refocus on him. I believe that's why God even
now is trying to introduce himself to us, because he
want us to prostrate. He want us to give in position,
to humble ourself. The Bible said that when.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
God spoke to Moses.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Even covered his face, why because he was afraid to
look at God Almighty. If there there was a time,
brothers and sisters, it is now that we ought to
bow down.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
It is now we all to get in position.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
It is known that we ought to humble ourselves and
get on our face, get on our knees and on
our hands in humble prayer to God Almighty. This is
not the time to stand in defiance to God. This
is not the time to sit at ease, No, but
is the time to stretch out in desperation. Thank you,
old folks, old folks, said father. I stretch my hand
(15:24):
to be no other help. I'm no If thou widraw
yourself from me, old.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Weather, shall I go. I'll tell you it.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Was an introduction so that he could prostrate himself and
refocus on God. Thank you, thank you. The sum has
set it this way and Psalms one nineteen. But it's
good that I've been afflicted, that I may look up
and see the Lord. Sometimes only until we get knocked
down until we're able to get a better look at
(15:54):
God all might, and so prostrate and refocus yourself. It
was an interruption, It was an introduction by But then
let me give you the last one, this burning bush y'all.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
It was installation.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
It was installation because Jesus wanted Moses acceptance. It was
installation because Jesus wanted Moses accepted. Look at what he
says in verse ten. He says, now go for I
am sending then.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
You to Pharaoh.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
You must lead my people Israel out of each other.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Oh brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
I when I read that, When I read that, I
tell you it came to me Moses might have been Baptist.
After all, I can see Moses in my in my
head and my sanctified imagination. The Lord is going through
I've seen, I've heard he's going through all of that.
I can see Moses and uh huh nod in his head. Yes, Lord,
(16:52):
I agree with you. You need to do something about it.
Go help those folks, Go rescue those folks. And then
God said I'm sending you. And when God said I'm
sending to you, Moses, wait a minute God versus eleven Moses.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
But Moses protested to God.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
He started coming up with all kinds of excuses. Isn't
that what we do sometimes, brothers and sisters, when God
has gotten our attention, When God let us know what
he wanted us to do. It seemed as if God,
I thought you were gonna use to preach up. I
thought you were gonna use that person. I thought you
(17:31):
were gonna use them over there. And yet God says
I want.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
To use you.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
You see what you got to understand about this installation, y'all?
This was not God's invitation to Moses. It wasn't his.
It wasn't his interview with Moses. Because Jesus already knew
everything about Moses. He already knew his past, he already
knew his problem. And yet he still says, I'm sending
you what that blessed my soul, brothers, and so because
(17:59):
that lets me know that even though Jesus knows our resume,
he already know the stuff you have left off your resume.
And yet Jesus said, I wanting to send you.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
I'm calling you.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
I want you to be my leader, you to be
my shepherd, you to be my deliverer. It wasn't an interview.
Matter of fact, it was an even an invitation. It
wasn't an invitation because this was the Lord's will for Moses' life,
and no, was not an option of Jesus is not
going to accept Moses' excuses, Brothers and sisters, because every
(18:36):
time Moses made an excuse, the Lord came back, Well.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
This is what I'm going to do.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Why because I have called you, I have invested much
into you. Matter of fact, Moses, when you were born,
I kept you alive when they put you in the
now the river, I kept the animals away. I allowed
Pharaoh's daughter to rescue you.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
I brought you up in.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
The best private schools in Egypt. I've invested too much
in you. And so, Moses, this is simply your installation.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
This is your installation. This is your job orientation.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
I'm trying to let you know what it is that
I have called you to do.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
And that's why I call.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
It an installation, Brothers and sisters, I call it a
new job orientation because when you go in for orientation,
they put before you the benefit package so that you
will know not only the responsibilities. They're looking for you,
but you can know what the company is willing to
do for you.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Thank you Jesus.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Think of Jesus because in chapter three and chapter four,
God is going to lay out for Moses to benefit.
How many know when you say yes to Jesus, when
you accept the Lord's calling on your life, it comes
with some benefit.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
What's the benefit? What's the benefit?
Speaker 2 (19:54):
I'm glad, y'all a boy, even on our braining them
Easter morning, y'all still are asking good question versus. He said,
I'm giving you my presence and my promise.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
I'm giving you.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
My presence and my promise because verse twelve reminded that Moses,
I'm gonna be with you. That's my presence right there.
I'm gonna be with y'all. But then here is the
sign that when I bring you out, you're gonna worship
me right back here on this mounth, that you have
my promise that I'm gonna keep you safe until you
can come back here and worship on this mouth. That
(20:26):
I'm giving you my presence and my promise. But then, Moses,
I'm even giving you my name. I'm giving you my name.
And aren't you glad y'all that we have the permission
to use the name of the Lord. Verse fourteen. Moses
want him to know what's your name? And God said,
I am who I am. Tell them that I am
(20:47):
has simp y'all, And I'm glad that we have a
name that's above every name, and we've been given permission
to use that name. That's why when you pray, brothers
and sisters, you ought to pray in Jesus' name, because
Jesus said, whatsoever you ask in my name, it shall
(21:08):
be done. I'm giving you my name, I'm giving you
my presence and my promise. But then I'm giving you
my power. I'm giving you my power. I need you
to know them that when I bring you out, I'm
not just gonna bring you out any kind of way
Verse nineteen. I know that the king of Asia will
not lift the God unless a mighty hand forces him.
So I will raise up my hand and strike the Egyptians,
(21:32):
performing all kinds of miracles among them.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
And then he will let you go. I'm glad that when.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
You sign up for Jesus, he said, I'm gonna give
you my power. And how may I know he's got power?
Because greater is he that is in us, that he
that is him the world. I'm giving you my power.
What then, he said, let me give you one more thing,
modes us, I'm giving you my plan.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
I'm giving you my plan.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Washington sign the stimulus bill the other week, and I
appreciate them signing the stimulus bill. But I tell you
God has his own stimulus plan. Look what the Lord said.
The Lord said, I'm gonna bless you. I'm a matter
of fact, verse twump to one. I'm gonna cause the
Egyptians to look favorly on you.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
They would give.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Your gifts when your gold, so that you will not
leave empty hand.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Matter of fact, verse twumpth to two.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Everd israeliting, one man will ask for articles of silver
and gold, and find clothing.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
From her Egyptian naghbor and from the foreign women in
the houser.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
You address your sons and daughters, strip them the.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Egyptians of their wealth. I'm to glad. God has a plan.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
God said, when I give your favor, I'll let even
your in amiss. Good God, old night. I let them
be the one to bless you. I let them be
the one to prosper you. I'm so glad right now
that it is true. My God sell supply all of
(23:10):
your need. I called him to his richest in glory, right,
thank you Jesus for your stimulus plan. Can I give
him my testimony? My testimony is like Dave that I
was young and now I'm old. But I'm never seeking
the righteous forsaking Naw, He's see bag and bread. I
(23:34):
need to encourage somebody. But even if the stimmul is
playing right out on you, my God is able to
meet your needs. He can keep the lights on, he
can keep food on the table, he can.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Keep a roof over your head.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Thank you Jesus for your stimulus plan. He said, this
is your installation, and so here is what I want
you to do, Moses. I want you to pray and receive.
Pray and receive. Say yes to my will, say yes
to my way, Say yes to the plan that I
(24:14):
have for you. Somebody, right now, God is trying to
sign you up and new order. Except accept his plan
because in God's.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
He coming, then there's no.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Layoff, there are no shutdowns, there are no fur lords.
But He always got a job for you to do.
There is printing for each one of us.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Taking Jesus for.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Jesus said himself, I must work the work of him.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Not send me.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
While it is deep, because night is coming when no
man can work.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Thank you Jesus.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
He's got a job for every one of us. He's
giving us a word in order to conclaim. He's given
us a world in order to claim.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
He's given us a worship to a claim. He's given
us a work for us to claim. And right now,
say yes to the will.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Of God and give him everything. Give him everything that
he's asking.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Fault? What is it that he won't creature? What does
the Lord want? I'm glad you asking on Mount Shanayaik.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
He took him back to Mount Shanayak because this is
the mountain of God.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
I believe God put.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
The bush on Mount Shanayaik because he wanted him to know.
I want to revive. I want a revival. I need
a revival in your life. Busses and so, let me
recall my holy nets. Take off your shoes, and then
on the holy ground, let me renew my covenant as
(26:05):
I was with Moses, as I was with Abraham. Isa
got Jacob, I'm gonna be with you right now. Let
me renew my covenant. But then let me repair the relationship.
I know you got some skeletons in your past, but
I got a job for.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
You to do.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
That's all I stopped about to tell somebody.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Right now, the Lord want a revival in your life.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
He won a revival in my life. And so right
now the Lord is reminding us of how good he's been,
where he brought us from, and what he can do.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Right now.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
He not only won a revival, but he want us
to live up to our responsibility. He made us, he
called us, he ordained us, and so right now he's
reassigning his calling on our lives. Thank you Jesus for
(27:15):
telling Moses, I want you to be my leader.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Somebody's been running from the Lord.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Somebody's been hiding on the back side of the mountain.
Somebody had gotten busy doing your own thing. And the
Lord is saying, right now, I got greater.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
For you to do.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
I got freeper for you to win, I got souls for.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
You to save.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
I got a job for you to accomplish. He wants
your responsibility and he wont our revival. Come here, Elijah,
when Eliza had gotten you scared from what a Jezebel
had threatened against him him.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
It was God who gave.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Him strength to run all the way back forty days
into the wilderness, and God brought him back to Mount
Shanna Yai in order to whisper in his hear.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
And encourage him. I'm not through with you yet.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
I have not forgotten about you, but I still got
a job for you to do.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
All this ea is the morning.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
I need somebody to know that God has.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
