Speaker 1 (00:22):
Welcome to Grace Grace with Nina. I'm Michelle, I'm Michelle Humphrey.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
And I am Nina Kigan. Welcome to the broadcast today.
Today we're going to be talking about a word for
Christians in these days, and that's endurance, endure to the end,
and tough enough.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
And I've been telling.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Michelle that I feel like God keeps telling me this,
that we need to get tougher. I don't feel like
things are just always going to get easier, and we
need to run our race with endurance and we need
to tough enough for what's coming ahead. I know in
the Bible says count it all joy when you go

(00:59):
through trial, so many kinds that you will go through afflictions, count.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
It all joy.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I read that the first time when I was very
first saved, and I remember thinking, Okay, why are we
going to count it all joy? When we go through
trials of many kinds? What does that even mean? But
I mean I never heard anybody say.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Oh, yay, a trial, that's joyous.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
No, But anytime you think there's a trial, don't you
dread it?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yes? But every time, every single time I've been in
a trial, it's been an opportunity to God, for God
to show up and show off in my life, and
what I have learned about Him and his faithfulness. Each
and every time I've been walking through something, he has

(01:44):
led me through it.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Even if you're walking through the valley.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Of the shadow of death, fear and no evil, He's
got you, and he has led me through it. And
I come out stronger with my faith strength, and I
have more of a testimony to bless and help others.
So trials and adversity are going to come, and especially
now we're in the midst of just a huge worldly

(02:10):
trial of good versus evil, and God wants us to
stay strong, to endure it through his eyes and see
what He wants to do in this moment through us,
and to toughen up for what's coming well.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
And the Bible says, therefore, do not cast I'm reading
out of Hebrews ten starting with thirty five. Therefore, do
not cast away your confidence, which has great reward, for
you have need of endurance, so that after you have
done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
And it says for a little while, it says that

(02:48):
he who is coming will and will not tarry Now
the just shall live by faith. But if anyone draws back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
But we are not.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Of those who draw back to perdition, but of those
who believe to the saving of the soul. And when
you think about that, we are not of those who
draw back to perdition. Now that's a little scary when
I read that. That causes me to feel an alarm bell,
you know, to hear one going off.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
That that's a possibility. So we really do have need
to endure.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Now, when you go through a trial day in day out,
day in day out, it is easy to be weary.
And the Bible says, don't be weary in well doing,
for if you do not faint, you will reap a reward.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
And so know that you hang on.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Get in church, read your Bible, listen to messages, turn
on praise music, get with a small life group. Do
some things to help yours, to build yourself up in
your most holy faith, so that you can toughen up
and so that you can endure.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
You know, the Bible says that in Timothy two Timothy
three twelve, Yes, and all who desire to live godly
in Christ Jesus.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Will suffer persecution.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Will that's not an if, that's not a maybe, it's will.
And how many of you have noticed more and more
that Christianity. Christianity is getting canceled.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
We know, even some of our.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Own stuff that we've putting on social media, the scriptures,
they'll cancel it, they'll shut it down, they'll say it's offensive.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Who is it offending?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Especially when the subscribers subscribe to read those that word
of God.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
But I mean you've had something canceled where it said
God is love?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
And what is that about? How is that hate speech?

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I don't understand that they said that, that's that's false.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
We can't prove that.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
And it's like, well, you know, so we just keep going,
we keep putting it out there, we keep you know,
fighting and for God's word to be alive and go
all over the globe. And you know, you only think
about what they're taken down, and they're taken down the truth.
They're taken down and saying it's hate speech. But who
says that? And then literally it has said fact fact checkers, Well,

(05:24):
who are they? Who are the fact checkers that are
saying that the Bible is hate speech? And so we
know it's coming. God wants us to prepare. God wants
us to know who we are. God wants us to
be ready. Have the lamp, the oil lamp ready, Be
ready with the word of God. Be ready to give
an answer about why you will have joy in the

(05:48):
midst of the crazy times and the end times, in
the midst of what's going on, Because no matter what,
the joy of the Lord is our strength, and we
are going to walk through whatever God sins our way
or allows to come our way with a dignity and
a righteousness that we have from Jesus being in our lives,

(06:10):
from being saved, from being born again. We have the
righteousness of God in us, and we can and will
walk through these things and do all we know to
do and be all that God has for us in
these times, and we will. The gates of hell shall
not prevail against us, and no weapon formed against shall

(06:31):
ever prosper. But we have to get our armor on,
and we have to get in a place where we
fight for everything that we have, and we come at
it with the word of God. And we need to
be strong with that and not back down.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
And we have to realize that we have been fairly warned.
It says in the end times, which I think, I mean,
I'm not certain, but it looks like we live.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
In the end times. It says in the end times
many will fall away.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Now, if that's not a scary scripture to you, I
don't know what is. Because that is terrifying that many
will fall away. That means many will not endure, and
that's Christian. They yeah, they will begin to fall away.
What is going to cause that? You know, the Bible
says in revelations If you know, I'm not saying that,

(07:24):
I'm you know, perfect in revelations. I am not sure
about some of the things. I think some of it
is very mysterious to me still, But it looks to me,
if I read it correctly, like the Antichrist is going
to die, he's going to raise in three days, and
he is going to walk in miracles. So that is

(07:47):
going to look very close to our Jesus. If you don't,
if you're not ready for that, then you you might
not make it.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
You might turn back to perdition.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
So what we're trying to do here today is to
get you ready, to call you to be a boot
camp soldier and tough enough, and we're going to talk
more about that when we come back.

Speaker 5 (08:13):

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Welcome back to the program. We are talking about enduring
until the end and toughening up.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
What do you what say you about this? Nina tough enough?

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Well, let me just tell you that recently I got
the scripture, you know, go the extra mile, and I
felt like that is a toughening up because that scripture
comes from a place in the Bible where a Roman
soldier with their huge packs of armory could grab any

(09:48):
Jewish citizen and make them carry it for a mile.
And there were even markers back then, markers, road markers
of how many miles, because the second that that that
Jewish civilian would just get to that mile marker, they
could drop the pack and be done. But when the
Bible says go the extra mile, think about that though,

(10:11):
because wherever they were drop everything, you got to take
this the soldier's pack, carry it a mile wherever he
was going, and then you had to go all the
way back to get your stuff and do.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Whatever you are doing.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
You're talking four mile, so.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
If you go the extra mile, you're talking two miles
with the pack and two miles back.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
And so when I studied that.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Because that is toughening up, because when you're having to
do something that you don't really want to do, and
it's really not fair, and that's kind of what a
lot of people are feeling right now, that things aren't
fair and the way.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Things are going in our world right now. But going
that extra.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Mile, it meant that that second mile, when the soldier
would wonder, why why are you carrying this pack for me?

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Why are you doing that.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Then it wasn't an obligation anymore. It's an opportunity. That's
when that Jewish civilian can start telling, well, I'm doing
this because this is what the Lord expects of me.
That's when he has an opportunity because that soldier couldn't,
for the life of him believe that someone would just
go and do.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
That, right, and that was a witness, and so he.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Would be able to witness and would be able to
turn that obligation.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
That that thing. It's like when the Bible.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Says turn your cheek, turn the cheek, and so you
know when he takes your shirt and give him your coat.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
You know, there are so many.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Things in the Bible that can be a tool for us,
even if it brings some suffering to us, what is
the greater good, what is coming from this adversity. And
that's where we have to toughen up and understand that
it's not about us, but it's what God.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Wants to do through us.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
And we need to be an example of how we
handle adversity and how we you know, how we like
behave and what is our example when things are crazy
in this world right now?

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Well, and you know it says in one Peter five
eight it says, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary,
the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom
he may devour. And in Luke eight five, Jesus told
a parable about a sober that the some of the

(12:29):
seed fell by the wayside and was trampled down, and.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
The birds of the air devoured it.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
And Jesus said, this seed is the Word of God,
and those by the wayside are the ones who hear.
Then the devil comes and takes away the word out
of their hearts lest they should believe.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
And be saved. And here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
We have downplayed the devil so much in the Church,
in the world, and it almost seems like fictional, But
the devil is very real. You have an adversary. You
have an enemy. I have an enemy, and he is
the enemy.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Of our soul.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
And if we are not careful, we will get so
entangled by the cares of life.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
You know, cares of life.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
You know, you get busy, you have to work, you
have problems, there can be health scares or serious health problems,
and you can get so entangled in the cares of life.
And you know, the Bible says that there's an answer
to that, and it goes back to being a soldier,

(13:38):
and it says, you know, be like a soldier. It
says in Timothy, it says tewod Timothy two three. The
Bible says, you therefore must endure hardship as a good
soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles
himself with the affairs of this life that he may
please him who enlisted him as a soldier. Every soldier,

(14:03):
you know, had to toughen up just to go to
boot camp, you know, can you imagine. I mean, first
of all, they shave your hair, that's the nightmare, right
and then and then they beat you down and make
you run. And by the end of it, every soldier
that I've known that has gone to boot camp.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
When they come back, they're.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Buff right, they have toughened up, and they are no
longer babies.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Well, it's true.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
You ever noticed that, Like when you work out or
when you exercise, It's like sometimes when you're very first
starting on a certain muscle group, like the next day
you can barely move, But then after a while you're
doing those same exercises and it doesn't bother you anymore
because now you're strengthened in that area. And so it's
the same way. It's like, whenever we go through something,

(14:52):
we allow it to be used to strengthen us, to
strengthen our faith, to toughen us up, so that when
we go through that again, or when that comes up again,
or when we have an opportunity to witness, we are
able to use that as a strength. What actually the
devil meant for harm, what he meant to use against us,

(15:14):
God will use for us to be a blessing, to testify,
to bring that blessing of that testimony to someone else
and help strengthen someone else's faith. Because at the end
of the day, what are we here for? We all
have a part of this great commission. We all have ministry.

(15:34):
We are all being used by God. Who are you
talking to? Who are you witnessing to? Who are you
an example to? You can bring the word of God
to your neighbor at the grocery store, wherever you.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Are, and be an example in your family.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Don't just let it be what people see on the outside.
You know, there's so many times you think that there's
these perfect little families everywhere, and it's really not like that.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
It's like you just don't know the whole story.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
You're looking at the little Facebook version of all the
perfect stuff. But let me just tell you, people are
watching you and they want to know why you have
the joy you have in the midst of the trials
you're going through. Every day is an opportunity to be
an example and to be a witness no matter what
we're going through. And so it's time to toughen up.
It's time to get strengthened in the Lord. It's time

(16:22):
to let the joy of the Lord be our strength.
Like Apostle Paul says, even when he was in prison,
always he was always in prison, but he wrote so
much of the Bible, and he said.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
What does it matter.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
None of this, at the end of the day, is
going to matter unless Christ is preached. That's what he says,
nothing else matters. So you suck it up. You put
on your full armor of God, and you let God
strengthen you, and you let God do a work in you,
and you get about doing God's business, no matter what's

(16:57):
going on, no matter what. So we all know that
this is something we're going to do. We're all going
to tough enough. I'm going to talk more in just
a minute.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
We want to honor God because he sees everything.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
You were born with a plan and a purpose. He's
the God of all things possible. He's the God of
all miracles.

Speaker 5 (17:37):
The world needs to be reached with the message of Jesus,
and that is the mission of Grace Grace with Nina
and Michelle, to see people's lives change with the saving
power of Jesus Christ. When you donate to Grace Grace ministries,

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Welcome back to Grace Grace.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
We are talking about endurance, enduring until the end and
toughening up. And the word endurance in the Bible, uh
it is hoopomone.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
How about that? I like that word.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
It says it means constancy, perseverance, continuance, bearing up, steadfastness,
holding out, patient endurance. The word combines hoopo under and
moan to remain. It describes the capacity to continue to
bear up under difficult circumstances, not with complacency, but with

(19:17):
hopeful fortitude that actively resists weariness and defeat. So we're
talking about a powerful word. This word endurance means that
you are you're taking ground, you are moving forward, but
you are steadfast.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Nothing is shaking you.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
You are no longer entangled in the world's process. No
good soldier gets entangled, you know soldiers. You know, my
son in law was a Navy seal and still is.
And he does not like he goes off on missions.
He cannot think about anything but the mission. They have

(20:06):
spent over a half million dollars to train him, and
the mission is all he can think about. He does
not get entangled with the things that are going on
in the family, the things that are going on in life.
I mean seriously, it is a high focused Josh. He
has to have that or he could get killed, or

(20:28):
someone else could get killed.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
You have to focus on the mission.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
And that endurance is you're tired, you're sad, you're lonely,
you're hungry, but you continue to press in to that
high calling that Jesus called us to.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
That's endurance.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
The blessing is in the pressing, and it's the Bible
says in one Corinthians sixteen thirteen. Watch and it has
an exclamation point. Watch, stand firm in the faith, be courageous,
and be strong.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
That's what we're called to do.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
We have to stand firm in our faith of knowing
that you know that you know who God is, what
he can do, what he will.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Do, what he has done. That's how we know what
he will do by what he has done.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
You just go back and you count the times that
he's done things for you, and he hasn't moved, he
hasn't changed.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
He is still that same God. Where to be bold,
we're to be have.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
The courage to step out in faith and to go
with his word no matter what, no matter who's doesn't
like it, no matter who comes against it. We know
that we have all authority there that when you know,
the devil is running a muck in this world right now.
But guess what, when he fell from heaven he took

(21:44):
he only took a third of the angels. Two thirds
of the angels are still on our side.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
We have the majority.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
And there's no demon making factory.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Nope, there's no.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
And so yeah, there is he that is in us
than he that is in the world.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
So there's we've got it all. We win and he's
not omniscient. He's not omnipresent. He doesn't know things that
we know. We know all of that. God keeps making,
bringing souls. God keeps bringing souls. Our army keeps growing
because we have Jesus in us, and so together we

(22:19):
have the majority, because we have Jesus interceding for us
at the right hand of his father. What could be
better than that we have the Holy Spirit in us.
God goes before us, he's in us, he goes beside us,
He's everywhere that we are. He's never asleep at the wheel.
And that is so comforting to know. No matter what

(22:41):
we're going through, and sometimes the trials are just so horrific.
Sometimes we're just crying out to the Lord. We don't
even know what tomorrow is even going to look like.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
And if you're in that.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Place today, we want to encourage you that God knows
where you are, He knows who you are, he knows
your name.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
He has got a plan for you.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
And even though you're walking through this right now, God
has a plan and God will bring you through that.
Because many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God
sees you through them all. And the Bible says all
that means all of them. That means exactly what you're
going through right now. And so we need to trust
that he's got us and he's.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
There absolutely, And I mean think about like I think
about you know, in ministry, sometimes you you know, you
can be going and going and going, and then when
you think it's time to rest.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
To me, that's whenever it gets really rough.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
And even you know, Jesus went away to rest, right, Yeah,
And I do think that in our world it's kind
of like it's like a badge of honor to be
busy all the time. And it's I don't know why
that's a good thing to be busy all the time.
I mean, I do think we have to be busy

(24:03):
about the Lord's business, but to be busy all the time,
not even Jesus himself was busy.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
All the time. He stepped away.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
And I think that's part of our strategy of being
a good soldier. We have to step away and rest
in the Lord, put on the yoke of the Lord,
and get away. And I find that when I am
thinking that it's time to rest, like on a plane,
like after I have been gone for a while and

(24:33):
I sit down on a plane, a lot of times
I just think, oh, it's that that part is over.
I am resting, and it almost seems like almost all
the time. Now the Lord sends me someone on the plane,
and so I have to be like, Okay, God, this
is you.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
I know it's you.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
And so I have to say, You're gonna have to
give me strength for this because I am so tired
and I thought it was time to rest, and now
I am, you know, witnessing or counseling or something, and
that is when I get caught off guard, you know,
and I am not so tough at that point. I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no,

(25:19):
don't tell me this, don't tell me this, because I
was planning on taking a nap, you know. And then
by the time it's all over, I'm like, God, that
was so amazing. There's no way that out of all
the people on the plane in the world.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
You know.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Sometimes I'll get like a connecting flight or something. This
is the person that you sat by by me.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
You know.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
He always amazed.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
Our steps are always ordered, and we're going to pray
right now that God is going to give you strength.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
We declare that He's going to give us all the
strength that we need to endure to the end, and
I pray the blood of Jesus over each and everyone
in Jesus' name. We are so grateful that you joined
us for the broadcast today, ho wherever you found us,
but you can continue.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
To follow us on social media.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
We have a podcast on your favorite podcast apps and
can we just want you to just leave us your
prayer requests, get in touch with us.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
We want to hear from you.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
We love you all and God bless you and stay
tuned for this word from Darryl Youngblood.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Does science disprove God?

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Is there a war between science and faith?

Speaker 1 (26:29):
We don't need God to create a universe. There's no
evidence for God and it's irrational.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Is there no evidence for God?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Am I delusional?

I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before.
