Speaker 2 (00:42):
As you're turning there to John chapter twenty for really
picking up from a resurrection Sunday last week, where Jesus
has been raised from the dead and Mary early that

(01:02):
morning goes to the tomb with spices to anoint the body,
and we pick up the story in John chapter twenty,
verse fifteen. Would you mind standing for the reading of
God's Word this morning. If there's anything worth standing for
in America today, it's God's Word. John chapter twenty, verse fifteen, Woman,

(01:29):
why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking? She supposing
him to be the gardener, said to him Sir, if
you have carried him away, tell me where you have
laid him, and I will take him away. Father, as
we dive into your word for a little while today, God,

(01:51):
I pray that you would give us ears to hear
what you were saying. God in eyes to see, and God,
I'll be quick to give you thanks in praising Jesus
Holy name. And somebody said, Amen, you can be seen
this morning. Thank you. So we picked this really up
from resurrection Sunday. I don't know about you, but I'm

(02:14):
sure that Mary and the disciples and many people that
knew Jesus, they felt very lost and very confused. After
the crucifixion of Jesus. His disciples followed him for three years,
believing that he was the one that would redeem Israel,
only to see him arrested and tortured and then die,

(02:39):
and their hopes were buried in that tomb along with
his body. But we know the rest of the story.
That resurrection took place last Sunday. We talked about that
a lot, yet not everybody recognized it immediately. And Jesus,
when he rose again, he did not just rise and

(02:59):
had great to heaven, but he spent about forty days
appearing to his followers, and he revealed himself personally to them,
restoring their faith and renewing their hope. And so my question,
as I'm preaching the thought today revealed, are we seeing

(03:22):
the revealed Jesus in our own lives? And if we are,
what are we doing about it? And so Mary, a
devoted follower of Jesus, she goes to the tomb early
that week, and we just read that story. She thought

(03:43):
that the gardener had taken his body. And isn't it
true that grief has a way of clouding our vision?
Mary was so overwhelmed with grief that even when the
physical presence of Jesus was not enough for her to
recognize him. But look at the next verse. In verse sixteen,

(04:08):
Jesus said to her Mary, and she turned and said
to him rabbo ni, which is to say or which
is to mean, teacher. You got to get this one word.
Her name was all that it took. And when Jesus

(04:30):
called her personally, everything changed. I'll never forget standing. I
think I've told you this story before, but until you
get another pastor you might hear it again. I remember
when my boys were little, and it was the first time.

(04:50):
They were both walking pretty good. And we decided on
one Saturday afternoon that we we would take our boys
to mcdonald' and we let them play inside in the
playground and the one on Florence Boulevard, and we did,
and so we went in there and there was it
was jam packed full of little monchies. I think every

(05:15):
kid in Casta Grand decided that day to go play
in the playground in Castle Grand with their nasty, stinky
little fingers. And so we're sitting there eating what they
call chicken nuggets. I'm not even sure if there's any
chicken in those nuggets. And I've had chickens before, and
I've never seen nuggets on a chicken. I don't even

(05:35):
know where they come from. But we were sitting there
eating chicken nuggets and what they what they call French fries,
and it was really crowded and it was very loud,
and all of a sudden, I hear I hear Jonathan
at the very top of that place that in McDonald's

(05:59):
scream one word daddy. I was a little larger than
I am now, And I have to tell you, at
that moment, there was no other sound in that entire
playground other than that little boy who cried out, Daddy.

(06:26):
And I heard something in that little boy's voice that
struck way down deep on the inside of me. And
can I tell you this. I jumped up out of
that plastic little seat with my shoes on. I stemmde

(06:48):
my way as best I could to the very top
of that play structure, inside of kmark of inside of McDonald's,
and I about four that speaking play set apart, making
sure that I could get into my son because he
cried out personally to me. I wonder what it must

(07:13):
have been like for Mary that day when see heard
Jesus himself, the fully resurrected, the fully God and fully
son of Man, when he looked at her and said,

(07:34):
Jesus calls her personally, and everything changed. Let me ask
you the question, are you listening for Jesus to call
your name? Because when he calls your name, everything changes.

(07:56):
We see that Jesus meets the two disciples on the
road is they leave Jerusalem and they're traveling towards a Maas.
They're disheartened, they're confused. We pick it up in Luke
chapter twenty four, verse fifteen, and so it was as
while they conversed and reason that Jesus himself drew near
and went with them. Notice Jesus didn't wait for them

(08:18):
to come to him. He met them. He revealed himself
to them on their journey and in their confusion, And
as they walked, Jesus began to explain everything. Luke chapter
twenty four, verse twenty seven says like this, and beginning
at Moses and all the prophets, he this is Jesus
expounded to them all of the scriptures, the things concerning himself.

(08:44):
So Jesus is walking along he find the two disciples
leaving Jerusalem and going to a maus. We call this
the walk to a Maus. Right, They're depressed, they're confused,
they don't really know what's next. And Jesus reveals himself
to them on the road and begins to explain himself

(09:05):
to them. I find it really cool that he used
the word to reveal God's truth, and he pointed them
back to scripture step by step. Can I tell you
that Jesus reveals himself through scripture? Jesus himself taught them

(09:26):
the scripture. So how much more do we need to
know the scripture? If Jesus is using scripture. We ought
to use scripture too. Somebody recently told me, Pastor, you
used too much scripture in your sermons, and I said, actually,
I think I don't use enough scripture in my sermon.

(09:46):
I believe I have twelves today, past just give him
one or two. No, we need seven hundred and forty
thousand words do. The problem in our nation today and
on our churches today is we have dumbed down our people.

(10:07):
Then stopped having Sunday schools where we were taught the
word of God. Most churches have stopped Wednesday night search services.
You know, we're one of the few that still have
Wednesday night church services. We have shrunk our services down
to they cannot be longer than an hour in five minutes,

(10:28):
because if they're longer than that, then people lose interest
and they will not come. Pastor, if you want to
build a church, how the church service is an hour
because people want to get in and get out within.
Those not the kind of people that I want to reach.
I want to reach some people who are hungry for
God's words and will apply the truth of the Scripture
to their lives, because that's what's going to change you.

(10:51):
That's what's going to change me, and that is what's
going to change this nation. Is the Word of God.
It will not be your feelings, it will not be
your desires, it will not be your wont tos. It
will be the Word of God. And if we get
away from that, woe is us. The Word of God

(11:11):
is this living and breathing document that we so desperately
need in our lives. You want transformation, get in God's
word and it will transform you. I say it like this.
It will peel you like an onion. It will peel you,
and it will make you useful Luke twenty four thirty one.

(11:35):
Then their eyes were opened and they knew him, and
he vanished from their SIGHTDT about you, but we need
to have our eyes opened so we can know him.

(12:00):
There's a story I think about a lot, a man
who was in our church for years and years and
years and never really got it. And he didn't get
it until I started walking him through some scriptures in
the Bible with him, and little by little I could
see that his eyes were beginning to open. And one

(12:22):
evening we were sitting in my office and I was
walking him through some of the text and we opened
up Isaiah chapter fifty three, and he looked at me.
He said, wait, this in the book of Isaiah that
was written seven hundred years before Jesus's birth, He's talking
about Jesus. Isaiah's talking about Jesus. Here, I get it.

(12:43):
I get it. And he jumped up off my couch
in my office. He said, Pastor, I get it. This
is about Jesus. And I said, it has been there
all along. You just truly are seeing what you need
to see. When you get in God's word, he'll he'll, he'll,
he can't unfold it at all at once because your

(13:05):
head would explode. That's why he gives you a little
bit here, and a little bit here, and a little
bit there, and a little bit there. And then he
starts to when when he starts to peel you like
and youngey, and he doesn't peel the whole thing all
at once because you would explode. It would be overwhelming
to you. But I am so thankful that my Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ does does does know my limits.

(13:26):
And so he just begins to say, I'm just gonna,
I'm gonna, I'm gonna remove this off of you. I'm
gonna work on this area, and then when you and
then I'm gonna then I'm gonna start working on this area.
And then he starts, it's a progressive thing in Christianity.
Immediately we are when we accept Jesus as our savior.
Immediately we are safe. And that's not progressive. You either

(13:48):
you either is or you isn't. Right, You're you're either
It's like it's like it's like you can't be kind
of pregnant. You know what I'm saying. You either is
or you isn't. You know what I'm saying, And you
can't be kind of or kind of not saved. You
either is or you isn't. You either are in the
kingdom or you're not in the kingdom. You're either headed
to heaven or you're gonna it's turn or burn. It's

(14:12):
smoking or non smoking. Come on, somebody, you know what
I'm saying. And but but our lives, he says, to
work out our salvation with fear and trembling. And it's
a process. It's a process of we call sanctification a
process because he's he's working on us, he's wooing us,

(14:34):
he's convicting us, He's saying, Okay, here's something, here's an
area that I'm gonna work on you. And he works
us over. Anybody being worked over. After thirty years of
doing this, I'm still being worked over. He's not done
with me yet, and I thank God for that. Sometimes

(14:55):
people say all the time, God, would you show me
a sign? Meanwhile he is saying, I have given you
sixty six books of sience. We just need to read them.
But God, all through Scripture, revealed himself to people, because
why God's heart is to be with people. God's heart

(15:19):
is people. From the very first section, the very first
verse of Revelation, from Genesis to the end of Revelation,
it's God is longing to be with his people, and
he will reveal himself to his people, just like he
did on that Sunday of Resurrection. We see that he

(15:41):
revealed himself to Noah. We see him revealing himself to Abraham.
We see it he revealed himself to Jacob in a dream.
We see Moses at the burning Bush. We see Israel
at Mount Sinai. We see Samuel by calling his name,
by Elijah through a still small voice, by Elisah or
Isaiah through a vision of his throne to Ezekiel in

(16:04):
a vision, by a Revershbar to Daniel, through dreams and visions,
to marriage by the angel Gabriel, to the sheepherds, by
heavenly hosts, and through Jesus Christ. God incarnate himself at
the garden Tomb, to the road to Amaeas to Saul.

(16:24):
On the road to Damascus. God revealed himself to Saul,
knocked him off his horse, blinded him for three days,
changed his name, changed his character, and Paul would come
on later to write two thirds of our current New
Testament Wow. And then of course we see Acts chapter
one and Acts chapter two, technically the whole rest of

(16:46):
the Book of Acts. We see this that God revealed
himself through the person of the Holy Spirit. Let me
ask you the question, are you walking close enough Jesus
for him to open up your eyes? The next powerful
appearance he after the Resurrection happens in John chapter twenty,

(17:06):
verse nineteen. Then the same day, at evening, being the
first day of the week, when the doors were were
the disciples weresembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus came
and stood in the midst and said to them, Peace
be with you. You've got to get this.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Fear isolated the disciples, fear of.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Failure, fear the unknown, fear of being hurt. But fear
does not set out Jesus. And when he came, he
did not scold them for hiding. Instead, he brought peace
to them. He could have easily said, boys, why are

(17:54):
you locked up here and scared of these Jews for?
But he did because that is not our loving savior
that we see. Instead, he just revealed himself walk through
a locked door. Come on, God will walk through locked doors.
You got to get that today, that God will walk
through locked doors. John chapter twenty, verse twenty says it

(18:19):
like this. When he had said this, he showed them
his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad
when they saw the Lord. I remember when I was
a little kid, I hated thunderstorms. I was not scared
of lightning, but I was scared of thunder. Does that

(18:40):
make sense, No, it does not make sense. The thunder
will not kill you. Lightning will kill you. You ever
see those I always had an image of like a cartoon,
you know, like when the cartoon character gets electrocuted by
lightning or something, and you can see the skeleton. I

(19:01):
always felt like that's why I was going to do.
But I was never feared of lightning about I go,
I go look at it, Oh, look how pretty it is.
And then you'd hear it. And then I would I
would make a high pitched noise, but only dogs could hear.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
I see.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
This thunderstorm, hiding and crying. Right, But then your father
walks in and embraces you. No words at first, just presence,

(19:52):
test peace. And can I tell you that that is
exactly what Jesus does because his presence brings peace. Thanks Jesus,
let me ask the questions, what rooms of fear have
you locked yourself into? So Jesus revealed himself to Mary

(20:16):
at the tomb. Not long after, he revealed himself to
the two disciples headed from Jerusalem to a Maas appeared
to the disciples behind the locked door. But Jesus didn't
reveal himself for comfort. He revealed himself for commission. Hear me,

(20:44):
he commissioned his followers for action. We picked up Mark
chapter sixteen, Verse fifteen says it like this, and he
said to them, go into all the world and preach
the gospel to every creature. Mark chapter twenty eight, verse
nineteen and twenty says this goes therefore, and make go wait,
let me stop, let me stopping me stop. He says,
go therefore therefore means this therefore means this. You've got

(21:07):
to get this. You've got to get this. Get this, Linda,
get this. You got to get this. Listen, Linda, Linda, listen.
He said, go. Therefore therefore means having said that, I
now say this. So, having revealed himself to his disciples,

(21:28):
and teaching his disciples, and teaching those men on the
road to Emmaeus, He's saying, having done all of that,
I now say this, because he's studying there's a progression.
There's see, there's progressiveness in the word of God. Having
said that, I'm building upon that to now say this,
This is what I have come for. This is what

(21:51):
I am commissioning you to go for. Matthew Chapter twenty eight,
verse nineteen and twenty. Go therefore, having said that, I
now say this, and made disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe

(22:12):
all things that I have commanded you. And lo I
am with you always, even until the end of the age. So,
having said and having done all of that which I
just did, which he is talking about the resurrection of
Jesus Christ himself, having said all of that, having taught
you the word of God, showing myself to you on

(22:34):
a mash, on the road to a mass, showing myself
to you through a locked door, showing myself to all
the disciples, and all of the hundreds of peoples that
he revealed himself to in that forty day span. Having
done and said all of that, I now say this,
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them

(22:57):
in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy SPEs period teaching them to observe
all things that I have commanded you. And lo, I
am with you always, even until the end of the
eight I have to tell you that after the resurrection
of Jesus, it was not just about personal faith any longer.
It was not. It was not about personal faith any longer.

(23:21):
It was about going and telling and making disciples and
living out the mission of Jesus every single day. That's
what it's about now. Because when we accept Jesus as
our savior. It's no longer just about us. See that's
part of the problem of church. Even though God built

(23:44):
his charts and it's wonderfully flawed mechanism that God chooses
to use to bring hope to the world. He uses
flawed individuals like me and like you. And if you're
looking for a perfect church, you will not find it here.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
Right.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
If you want to find something to lay blame at,
you can look no further than me, because I am
a flawed individual and I will fail and I will
fall short, and I will make mistakes because I put
my pens on one leg at a time, just like
you do, boo. And I'm a man, and I will fail.
But hopefully we can point you to one that does

(24:24):
not fail. And his name is Jesus Christ. And so
if you're looking for a perfect church, you might as
well just quit and walk out now, because you will
not find it here. But I will go ahead and
also warn you of something else. The very next church
you walk into in this community. You will not find
a perfect church there either, because it looks perfect until

(24:46):
you walk in, yeah, right, and then you mess it
up by you walking your flawed self in there. And
guess what that pastor, unless he's a superhero, which even
make themselves out to be, probably puts his Levi's on

(25:06):
one leg at a time, two just like me. That's right.
He has more hair than you, probably because he went
to the Philippines and got hair in plans. He has
prettier teeth than you. Probably he has a great dentist.
He's better looking than you. I can't help what my

(25:28):
mama gave me. I have a voice for radio, Praise
the Lord. I have a face for radio too. Come on,
I have a face for radio. I actually had a
lady one time quit our church because she said, there's
a new church in town, and the pastor's better looking
than you are. I'm going to go. If I have
to stare at some dude for an hour, I'm going

(25:49):
to go to the church down the street because he's
better looking than you. I'd like to tell you that
I cried and wept and pleaded with her to stay.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
Sister, Please don't go. I'm trying to do some weed.
I could probably go somewhere to get hair plugs, and I.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
Can dye my hair, and I can dye my goatee,
and if you please, if you stay, all change this
for you.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
No, actually what I did. She was standing about right there.
I grabbed her by her hand. I walked her to
the front glass doors and I opened up the door
and I said, may God bless you. Hey, have a
wonderful life. And then I went to my office and cried,

(26:59):
we can't pick church is based off color. Did you
know that the most segregated day of the week is
Sunday morning at ten o'clock. We have churches in this
community that are just black. We have churches in this
community that are just white. We have churches in this

(27:21):
community that just speak Spanish. We have churches in this
community that just speak their native their native languages the
most in America today, the most segregated hour of the
week is on Sunday morning. If you want to go

(27:43):
to a certain powerful church in town that has the
most influence and the most money, there are churches that
do that. But can I tell you the reason why
we must select a church is this is the Word
of God being preached from the Word of God, not
just man's emotions and feelings and desires and motives. And

(28:07):
is Matthew Chapter twenty eight, nineteen and twenty being preached Bill. Therefore,
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, teaching them, teaching them, teaching them to observe

(28:27):
all the things that I have commanded you, and I
am with you always, even until the end of the age.
Our faith cannot be personal, and we have to learn
how to get past our own agenda now in our
own comfort. Well, I just wish people recently have come

(28:51):
to me and said, not many, not many, because most
people in our church don't care any longer. But a
few people have said, welcome. We can't just have a
worship a regular worship band like all the other churches.
I said, I don't want to be like all the
other churches.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
But we do karaoke. We do karaoke worship. Dare you
call it karaoke worship? And your definition of worship is
wrong anyway. Worship is not a song. Worship is a
kiss yep.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Hey. Worship means this worship is something we bring, not
something we receive. And see that's where many of us
go wrong when it comes to worship. Worship is something
we bring to the King, not something we come into
just say give me, give me, give me, give me, gimme.
This is not a movie where you go and pay
to be entertained. And what we have done is we

(29:49):
have turned many of our churches into cruise ships instead
of battleships for war. I'm here to equip here for
war because it's going to be hell come Monday, and
you better learn how to fight on your knees and
fight on your face, and fight with the word of God,
not what your pastor said to tickle your ears. In fact,

(30:10):
I hope i'm saying paper do you. I hope I
rub you the wrong way. I hope I offend you,
and I hope I piss you off. And I just
pissed off a bunch of people for saying pissed off
in church from the pulpit. Wait, you get a stay
here a little while longer, and you might hear something worse.

(30:32):
I can't believe you should pish shame, shame. God knows
your name in any word, in any worse than the
stuff you watch on TikTok on Monday. So shut your mouth,

(30:57):
don't look at me that way, your hypocrite. I'm seeing
some of y'all tiktoks and some of y'allre nasty. I've
seen it. I said, I'll see it. I'll see your Instagram.
Don't come at me for saying that. Let's go out
to your car and play your last song, Beyonce. Okay,

(31:19):
come on, Morgan Wallen, come on, come on, dropping it
like it's hot. Come on, y'all nasty, you're nasty, You're nasty, y'all. Now,
I could probably drop it like it's hot once, but
I could not pick it back up again because they
just don't. It just don't work like it used to.
You know what I'm saying. It can't be it can

(31:43):
be about our preferences. Well, I wish so we could
say the old hymns any long? Yeah, because worship has
become about your preference instead about what you can bring
to the king. How come we don't have a drummer
or a bassister, or or because that's what you want.

(32:06):
When is the last time we went to a church
service and said, God, what do you want? When's the
last time we got up to worship and go, well,
we're gonna play this song again. Didn't we just do
that like three weeks ago? You know, because worship songs
these days only last about three weeks. You play it
three times in a row, and it's like, I think

(32:27):
I'll just hop in churchs late because you know, I
don't really get into worship, so you don't get into
giving God the honor that he is due when you're
coming against worship. See, it's not just a song. In fact,

(32:47):
I am so serious about not doing traditional worship any longer.
Let's see how that grows the church. Maybe we turn
all the screens off on a Sunday morning and we
just stand in our chairs and we just was not
a song with nothing on the screens, with the lights,
with the lights up full bright, and say, God, I
am here to bring you my adoration this morning. And

(33:10):
I don't need a song to get me in the
mood before the creature comes and spits at me. Maybe
I just need to get into the presence of God
all by myself and not worry about what's on the
screen or what they're saying or what they're doing. But
maybe I could just lift up my voice and give
God the honor that he is due, all by myself,
all by myself.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
I don't need I don't need a worship leader too, to.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Invote the presence of God in my life. I could
get him all by myself when they sat unto me.
Let us go to the house of the Lord. That's
the kind of worship that we've got to express. I
have come to enter into the presence of my teeth.

(33:56):
I have come to give you what you want to do,
not what I could come. God in docmudn't you just
say it right now, God, forgive me for making worship
something that it's not. Forgive me God for making worship
something that it's not. Worship is me bringing my adoration
and my worship to the King of Kings and the
Lord of Lords. Do you really think that you're going

(34:20):
to have Brandon Lake and Matthew West and Chris Tomlin
in heaven around the throne with their instruments and their
sound engineers and their professionally played instruments. Let me tell you,

(34:40):
if we make it, we will lay everything down at
his and the only instrument that you will have is
what you bring. It will be right there. It will
be the breadth that He gives you in your lungs.
That's what your incident will bring.

Speaker 7 (35:00):
That is what your instrument will be is the breadth
that you have in your lungs to say, here is
my instrument, Here is my instrument.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
They have come to give you the praise and the
honor that is do you did you imagine us getting
to heaven saying well, you know, before we start this
worship service, Jesus, Holy Spirit in God the Father, I'm
going to put in a request that we sing you

(35:38):
know worthy of it all by C. C. Winans I
really like that Lauren daego song.

Speaker 8 (35:48):
Are we gonna? Are we gonna sing? Some Bethel. God
revealed himself to people.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
And they were not sent out powerless before ascending to
the right hand of God the Father, where he is
now interceding for you and I, he declared Acts Chapter one,
verse eight. But you shall receive power when the Holy
Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses
to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria,

(36:35):
and to the ends of the earth. After the resurrection.
Jesus revealed himself to Mary the travelers through road do Omais.
The groups huddled in fear there in the upper room,
and he restored their faith and renewed their whole and
he gave them the commission. The question is today, how

(37:01):
will you respond to the revealed Savior? Like Mary, Maybe
we need to call out his name and listen for
his voice, like the true disciples on the road to Emmaus.

(37:23):
Maybe we need to walk with him through the scriptures
and let him reveal himself to us through the scriptures,
like those that were held and locked in that room
in fear. Maybe we need to welcome him into our
hidden rooms. And then, maybe just as importantly, maybe we

(37:45):
need to go where he sends us, empowered by his
Holy spirit. John chapter twenty, verse twenty nine. Jesus said
to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed.

(38:08):
Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed
in Church. We are blessed because even though we have
not seen him physically, we believe. And because we believe,
we are still He's still revealing himself to us today.

(38:32):
Last verse, and then I'll be done with my introduction.
I'm kidding. And the visitor said, Praise God, this guy's
freaking me out. Honey, you ain't seen nothing yet. Keep
coming Acts chapter three, verse one through whenever I get finished. Now,

(38:58):
Peter and John went up together to the temple at
the hour of prayer the ninth hour, and a certain man,
laying from his mother's womb, was.

Speaker 9 (39:06):
Carried whom they had daily, whom they laid daily at
the gate of the temple, which is called beautiful, to
ask alms from those who entered the temple, who, seeing.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked
for alms or that's money, and fixing his eyes on
him with John, Peter said, look at us, and so
he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
Then Peter said, silver and gold I do not have,
but what I do have, I give you in the

(39:41):
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Rise up and walk.
And he took him by the right hand and lifted
him up, and immediately his feet and angle bones received strengths.
So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the
temple with them, walking, leaping and praising God. And all
the people saw him walking and praising God. And then
they knew was he who sat who sat begging alms

(40:05):
at the beautiful gate of the temple. And they were
filled with wonder and amazement at what happened to him.
Look at the progression. Here Jesus revealed himself to Peter
and to John. And then now Peter and John were
revealing Jesus to other people. And that is the progression.

(40:26):
From Easter Sunday to this Sunday. Jesus has revealed himself
to us so that we could go and share Jesus
with other people. That is the progression. And can I
just tell you that you cannot give what you do
not have, but you can sure give what you have,
and you do have Jesus, And just like Peter and

(40:46):
just like John, the same Jesus that performs miracles in
that man that was lame from his mother's womb, begging
for money. The guy thought that he was going to
get something from them, but instead he got something. He
got something that was so much more significance, and that
was Jesus. And that was the healing in his body.

(41:06):
But not only did it affect him, but it affected
the people around him. And can I tell you that
when Jesus gets into our hearts and into our lives,
it must affect and infect the people around us. It
is not just for us. How dare we listen to me?
Listen to me and I'm almost done. How dare we
keep this message of Jesus to ourselves? One of my

(41:34):
pastor friends just recently said, he said, listen. He said,
if you do not share Jesus with other people, I
believe it's a sin. If we have been transformed because
of Easter, the resurrection, and He has revealed himself to us,

(41:54):
how much of a responsibility now do we have to
share it with other people? We have that responsibility, but
not just the responsibility, we have the honor. Yeah, listen
if you have If you have a diet secret that's

(42:16):
working for you and all your friends are fat and
you don't share it with them, shame on you, Julie.
If you have a great Tamali recipe and you don't
share it with the rest of us by giving us
samples next Sunday, same on you. Everybody says, same on you.

(42:44):
I'm kidding. I'm kidding. That would be way too much work,
But we would help you work if you wanted to
do it. I have a We just remodeled our kitchen.
I'm kidding, you know, just to tomal The's times at
by one hundred and fifty. You're fine. I'm kidding, I'm
kidding we need four No, but listen, but listen, we

(43:08):
have we have the key of life. We've been given
the key to life, and we are last. Why don't
we share that message with somebody else? Say listen, I
have been set free and you could be set free too,
because Jesus died. Jesus didn't die for just you. See,

(43:30):
the American church today is broken because we think that
we think that Jesus died for just us. It's just
us four and no more. And can I tell you
I said this Wednesday, and I know it could be
true that if our faith only works in here, but
it does not work outside that door, our faith is useless.

(43:51):
If it does not work Listen. If this message does
not translate, If it translates in here but it does
not translate on a trashpile in Mexico, it is not
the gospel of Jesus Christ. If that message you're listening
to on TV does not work in your real life,
it's not the gospel. But can I tell you, has

(44:13):
anybody been said free by Jesus? Has anybody had their
name written in the lambs of of life? Has anybody's
life ever been changed by Jesus? Then if it has,
how dared you keep it to yourself? You have the
key to cancer, You have the key to heaven, you

(44:34):
have the key to hell, because listen to me, you
might be the only Bible people ever get to read,
and you might be the only Jesus that people ever
get to see, and you have the message inside of
your heart. You've heard it enough from me. You've heard

(44:55):
enough from me. It's not just a responsibility. It's not
just a mandy, it's not just the great commission. It's
the great honor and pastor. I just don't feel comfortable
enough to share my face. Okay, fine, invite them to

(45:15):
church and all share my faith. Come on. That's why
we do the podcast. That's why we do YouTube. That's
why we do that's why that's why we do radio.
Come on, that's why we do. That's why we do
all the things that we do is to reach more
people with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to
and to listen, listen, and as a church, I'm just

(45:37):
telling you, we will spend every dollar that we that
we bring into this.

Speaker 3 (45:41):

of story.
