Speaker 2 (00:23):
I want you open your Bibles to Judges chapter six,
the sixth chapter going to continue our series called He's
so Judge? Why you so judgy? And it's not necessarily
about being judgmental. It's about God being the righteous judge,
the ultimate judge, and at the end of the day,
he will rule with justice. Justice is coming from God
and that's the way that he rules. And it's about
(00:45):
during the period of the Book of Judges. If you've
been studying this Book of Judges with us, it is
a period of time in Israel's history where the Bible says,
in those days Israel had no king, but everyone did
what seemed right in their own eyes. So, in other words,
that's a phrase that will come up four times in
the Book of Judges, and one time in First Samuel.
So it was like I'm gonna live my truth, you
(01:07):
live your truth. This is where I'm gonna live. You
can live that way. Don't judge me. I won't judge you.
That was that time. But of course God was not
done with that, because Yahweh, God's name in Hebrew, he
was with the nation of Visuel. He was their nation.
He was their nation. He said, I'm gonna call you.
You are my kingdom of priests. You are my holy nation.
When you think about all of the nations on the earth,
(01:28):
God picked one. There's hundreds of them. God picked one,
and he said, this nation will be my special treasure.
They will be my people. And as a result of that,
here we are. You and I are the recipients of
the Abrahamic covenant passed on from Abraham to Isaac, Isaac
to Jacob, Jacob and his twelve sons. And you and
I are and have been engrafted into that and are
the recipients of the good grace of God as a
(01:51):
result of that, because of Jesus Christ. Somebody say, amen,
So now here we are. We are the recipients of this.
And so when we begin to read this, we're not
just reading Oh, that's how they were the Old Testament.
I want you to look at this is how we
are sometimes this is how our nation can be, and
this is how nations are. And so if you remember Gion,
Gideon was threshing wheat at the bottom of a wine press.
And Gideon is struggling, trying to eke out a living.
(02:13):
He's ideating, he's innovating, he's doing what nobody else is doing,
and he's scraping everything together in order to make it.
And God calls him by name, and he calls him something.
He calls him mighty Man of God or mighty hero.
The Lord is with you and in the midst of
his wine press life. At the same time, it's amazing
(02:34):
because God, Gideon discovered that God had a better opinion
of him than he had of himself. How many y
stuff have that God has a better opinion of you
than you have of yourself. In Jesus' name, and Gideon
discovers it. God calls him mighty man of God. God says,
I'm gonna take You're gonna become a great warrior. Gideon
has crisises of faith right in front of the Angel
(02:55):
of the Lord, which is a pre incarnate version of Jesus.
He doesn't know what to do with that. He says
then I need fire from the rock, and God fired
from the rock. God brings fire. Then he says, I
need a wet fleece. When it's dry. God gives them
a wet fleece. In the morning, there's dew all over
the fleece. He goes, Okay, if it's really you, then
flip it. The next day. I need the fleece dry,
I need the dew on the ground. And God does
that his and what more proof do you need? Right?
(03:17):
And then all of a sudden, God brings the army
around him. Thirty two thousand men rally around Gideon and
thirty two thousand. Think about that in just hours. Thirty
two thousand men. Now these were not hard trained warriors
like the Median Knites. They were not. That's not who
they were. They could battle, but what were they? They
were farmers. And they show up thirty two thousand and
(03:39):
in Judges chapter seven the beginning part getting is excited.
He's like, all right, thirty two thousand and he's and
then all of a sudden, God says, you know what,
you got too many? You got way too many. Because
with that thirty two thousand you probably could beat them.
But with my help absolutely, you gonna beat him. With
thirty two thousand, there's no way you can beat them.
Let me put it. There's with thirty two thousand. There
is no way you winning. But I'm with you, so
you will win. But it's still it's still many men.
(04:00):
So I want you to say, if anybody's scared, they
can go home. So he says, anybody's scared, you can
go home. Twenty two thousand and ten, twenty two thousand
said we out of here, and twenty two thousand left.
Now Gideon's got ten thousand. God says to Gideon, you've
still got too many, So bring them down to the river.
Let me sift them out for you, and I'll tell
you who you need. And now all of a sudden,
Ginny's got three hundred men left. Thirty two thousand to
twenty two thousand to three hundred. Now this is all
(04:22):
he has. And God says, perfect. Now I can work
with that. Somebody say, amen, you ever feel like God
has like shifted you, God has threshed you. Says ooh,
that's your strength. Oh let me take away your strength,
because when you're weak, that's when I'm strong. So let
me take away that strength from you, and so God
begins to use them. And then the Bible says in
Judges chapter seven, verse seven, now he's got three hundred,
(04:45):
and it says in verse seven, and here it is
Judges chapter seven, verse seven, and says, then the Lord
told Gideon, with these three hundred men, I will rescue
you and give you victory over the Mini Nights. Send
all the others home. So Gideon collect the provisions and
rams horns of the other warriors and he sent them home,
but he kept three hundred men with him. And then
(05:06):
the Midi Night army or camp, was in the valley
just below Gideon. And that night the Lord said, get up,
go down into the Midia Night camp, for I have
given you victory over them. But if you're afraid to attack,
go down to the camp with your servant Purah. Listen
to what the Midia Knights are saying, and you will
be greatly encouraged, and then you will be eager to attack.
(05:28):
You know, when you are facing insurmountable odds. I don't
know if you're facing an insurmountable odd right now. I
don't know if you're facing some a defying odds. God
always comes, God seems to come through the strongest when
the odds are the worst. Think about this for a moment. Abraham,
he's one hundred years old, can't have kids with his wife.
God gives them a baby. His son is Isaac. Joseph
(05:48):
thrown into a pit, then from the pit into Potiphar's house.
From Potterphar's house to prison, and then years go by
because of his faithfulness and Gideon and Joseph becomes the
number two men in all of E bring me down.
I'm a little too hot, So that way I can
yell more, okay, because if it's preventing me from from
bringing it all so? And then this is this, So
(06:09):
Neil Miles builds a wall in fifty two days? Who
builds a wall in fifty two days? God does with
his people. Jesus changes the world with twelve disciples, twelve
regular fishermen, regular guys. Who does that? God? Anytime God
is using somebody to accomplish something great, he uses people
who are available. That's who. That's who the judges were.
(06:31):
The judges weren't judgmental people. The judges were people that
God used to save at that moment for such a time.
So get in. What did he have to overcome that
last bit of fear, that last bit of fear that
was still with him. God said, if you are still afraid,
go take pure down with you. According to Webster's Dictionary,
it means even though he says, if the word if
(06:54):
you know what the word means, the word if translated.
We never even look it up. I finally looked it up.
What if really mean? Even though just in case, whether
supposing even if you are still afraid? He was afraid,
He was afraid. Who could blame him? But it's not
the time to get afraid. Now's the time to get
(07:17):
some faith. And the faith difference maker that God was
gonna do was gonna help him overcome the odds. And
the first thing that he had write this down. If
you're taking notes, and when if you're taking notes, really
really important. Number one, he had a word from the Lord.
Gideon had a word from the Lord. God spoke to him.
(07:37):
And because God spoke to him, he had a word.
Come on, I don't know about you, but when is
the last time you had a word from God? Right?
You should get we actually we should get a daily word.
Now give us this day our daily bread. The bread
is the word of God. And if you are in
the word of God, you will get a word from God.
Let me say that again. If you're in the word
of God, you will get a word from God. So
(07:58):
getting got a word from the Lord, the word of
the Lord was so encouraging, was so empowering to him.
He wanted to fight. When he heard what he heard,
his life was changed forever. When he heard how much
God thought about him. When he heard what the enemy
was saying about him, there was something different that would
change in Gideon's life. A single word from God and
will lift the greatest worry off your shoulders. In the
(08:18):
name of Jesus. Somebody say amen. So when you get
a word from God, how do you get a word
from God? You contend for that word, you pray for
that word, you ask God for that word, whatever it is,
because you need a word, the word. Maybe today you
need a word of encouragement. Maybe maybe God just is
going to just give you a phrase, be still to
know I'm God. Maybe that's your phrase. Maybe your phrase
is greater is he who's in me than he who's
(08:39):
in the world. What is your phrase? What is the
word that you need? Maybe maybe the word is this
too shall pass. What is the word that you need
from God that you can contend for him and ask
him God, I need a word from my family. I
need a word from my kids. I need a word
over my business. I need a word for twenty twenty
because I got forty five days left and I'm not
giving in. What is that word? But you're gonna get
(09:03):
a word from God if you are in the word
of God. That's the fastest way you get a word
from the Lord, from the Word of God. And when
you are in this, you're highlighting, you're eating this up.
Then you get something at the right time. You get
a word that is called a word in season or
a timely word, a word in season or timely word.
As a matter of fact, Proverbs chapter fifteen, verse twenty
(09:24):
three says this, a man takes joy in a fitting reply.
And how good is a timely word? How good? How good?
So good? So good? Is a timely word? Hold that
word is perfect. I needed that right there, right now
that time. I'll open up the Bible and there it was,
My gosh. I was in my devotional I was like
going to Leviticus. It was getting boring, but I kept
(09:46):
reading and boom, there you go. God, give me a word.
That's the thing that you're looking for. Get in had
a word. And when you got a word, nothing can
stand against the word that you get because nobody can
talk about that word because God gave it to you.
A man takes joy in a fitting reply. And how
good is a timely word? The word is not just
for you, though, the word is for somebody else, because
(10:10):
when you get a word, you're gonna want to share
with somebody else. Because Gideon was getting a word from God.
But the word that he was receiving was not just
for him. It was for the rest of the army.
He needed a word for the army because he had
three hundred guys. They probably were like, oh great us
all I gets these guys. Are you serious? My gosh,
We're gonna be dead. We're done, it's over. Can you
(10:31):
imagine thirty two thousand. You're the original, You're the three
hundred left and you saw I always hear, I remember
when we had thirty two thousand. Oh, when was that
all just yesterday? Uh? I remember when we had ten
thousand woo, and we had ten thousands nah, and now
we got three hundred. You see it all shrink all
of a sudden, the incredible shrinking army of Israel. And
(10:54):
here we are, and God's gonna do something because there's
a victory in the making. That word that you need,
somebody might need that word. Proverbs twenty five eleven says, this,
a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in
settings of silver, in other words, perfectly placed at just
the right time, on a beautiful platter plated with gold,
(11:17):
overlaid with silver. And at that moment with that word
like boom, I needed that word meaning loti. Is there
anybody in this in Meanilani right now that needs a
timely word? That is that a timely word at this
right moment in season will give you exactly what you
need and that begins to change your faith. In the
name of Jesus, inspire church. I want to I want
to teach you to contend for a word from God
(11:39):
every single day in the name of Jesus. Number one,
he had a he had a word, and he was
moving on that word. And then it says this verse ten,
go to go down to verse ten, and in verse
ten it says, let's go back to verse nine. Uh
verse nine. So hear this, and then the midia Nite
(11:59):
camp was in the valley just below Gideon, and that
night the Lord said, get up, go down into the
Midianite camp. So, of obviously they were on top, and
I have given you victory over them, that was the word.
But if you are afraid to attack, go down to
the camp with your servant Pura, and listen to what
the Midia Nites are saying, and you will be greatly encouraged,
(12:23):
and then you will be eager to attack. So Gideon
took Pure. Everybody said Pura took Pura and went down
to the edge of the enemy's camp. So he takes
Pure Pure as a servant. Some scholars believe that Puro
was an older man. He was an older man, probably
helped them put in charge by his father to take
care of Gideon when Gideon was young. And now he's
going down to the camp with Pure his servant. You
(12:43):
know it's important because he said, if you're still afraid,
go down to the camp, but take Pure with you. Now,
I don't know about you, but I'd be afraid just
to go down by the camp anyway. And you're going
down to the camp, there's hundreds of thousands of men
who are down there on the valley floor. You're up
there and it's night, it's pitch black, and you gotta
go sneak through the enemy lines. You gotta make sure
that they don't have any scouts. You gotta make sure
that there's nobody on the lookout. You gotta make sure
(13:05):
that you don't step on gravel because they're gonna hear
you. You gotta make sure that everything is quiet. And when
you finally get there, you're gonna get there because you
are with a pureer. Come on, praise God for the
purest in our life. Somebody say, a man, who's the
pure in your life? Because number two Ge didn't had
a word for God. But number two you didn't have
a faithful friend. And if you have a faithful friend,
who are gonna walk through you walk every season with you.
(13:26):
Who's gonna be there with you, who's gonna help you,
who's gonna encourage you, who's gonna bring correction when you
need it? And the exhortation a challenge something because we
all need purers in our life. Pure is more than
a peer. Purer is somebody that will want the best
for you, speak the best into you, that's a purer.
(13:48):
When a purer speaks, you listen. When a pure speaks,
you listen. Because the purers in our lives are the
ones that can help us from derailing our lives. Those
are what God does. That's the thing that God does.
He brings a purer into your life. You know, purists
can be found. You know they can be found. They
can be found in the church. They can be found
in the Connect group. And I found my purres in
the Connect group before I didn't go to Connect group
(14:09):
and Lisa I got when I got saved, and I
didn't meet meet Lisa yet and we were gonna hope Chapel.
I remember, for two years, I never got into a
Connect group, never went, didn't want to. Nana's for all
those people. They don't need that. I'm good. I don't
need it. I don't need a Connect group. I'm good.
But I needed a Connect group. You know. It's kind
of like I don't need constant you need counseling. No,
you need coming, No, I don't you need counseling. It
was kind of like that, right, No, I don't need
a Connect group. So I went to a Connect group
(14:30):
for the first time after two years ago into church.
They said, you guys want to come in a Connect group,
and I went to the Connect group. The first time
I went to the Connect group, Lisa took me. Uh yeah, yeah.
I went with Lisa, and then she Brough brought me
to this Young Adults Connect group. Really was a singles
connect group, but I went to Young Adults Connect Group
Christian Mingo dot com. That's what it was before it
even started. And I showed up to that Young Adults
Connect Group and I get there and all of a sudden, everybody,
(14:52):
there's a lot of people. I'm nervous because you know what,
most of the reason why we don't go to Connect group,
it's because when I don't want to be judged, I
don't want to share my stuff. I just want to
give me some time, let me open up when I
want to open up, and don't make me pray. Definitely,
do not make me pray in front of people. And
I didn't want to pray in front of nobody because
I didn't know how to pray right in my mind,
I don't know how to pray my prayers like, oh good,
(15:13):
that was my prayer my prayer life back then. So
I got there and I'm all nervous, I'm all scared,
and all of a sudden, we'll get there, and the
guy goes, hey, this is awesome, this is really great,
but hey, this is too big already. We gotta stop
inviting people. That's my first time and I was the
first invited. I'm like, I was like, wow, thanks a lot, man,
(15:33):
it's my first time at connect group. And they tell
us close the Connect group. There's too many people in
this thing. I don't know. If somebody was thinking, they
would say, like, build this thing up, let's multiply this thing, right,
make it thirty, make it fifteen. After that, two groups
of fifteen, three groups of ten. But they weren't thinking
like that. So I said, fine, I'm not coming. And
I remember I looked, I looked at her. I said,
I don't know. I don't think I want to coming
here anymore. I was like, this is like kind of
(15:53):
bumming my out. The Connect group leader and the unders
Shepherd guy, they were arguing the back, the arguing the
kids about me, why you shay that? Look, he's all upset.
Hard for the Holy Spirit work when you upset. We
didn't come back and I didn't even try for another year,
and then finally I went again and I found the
right one. It was a second. It was a great fit.
(16:15):
If you've been discouraged but trying to get in the
connect group, if you can't get into the how does
this zoom work? Or whatever, you're having a hard time,
just keep on trying. That's where you find your purah.
In the name of Jesus, somebody is saying a man
because Ecclesiastes four, verse twelve says this. A person standing
alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand
back to back and conquer, and three are even better.
(16:36):
For a triple braided cord is not easily broken. You
see the picture. This is why we need purists. Pure
goes down with him into the enemy's camp. He's still afraid,
but he needs some encouragement. So Puris go with him.
So Pure goes with him, So get in. Took Pure
and went down to the edge of the enemy's camp.
I remember, if you guys remember that song. I went
to the enemy's camp and uh, never mind, moving right along, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(17:03):
you have the song right took back what he stole
from me? That's the song right here. This is what
this is on took back. But in the verse twelve,
Verse twelve, then the armies of Midian a Malek, two
armies put together, and the people of the East had
settled in the valley. Look at this like a swarm
of locusts. Their camels were like grains of sand on
the seashore. That's how many camels they had. Everybody their
(17:26):
camels like sand on the seashore. That's a lot. And
then too many to count. Some scholars say up to
three hundred thousand. We're in that valley. Everybody, they are defeated.
Done on this God comes through. Then this says this
verse thirteen, the geinting crept just getting crept up. Just
as a man was telling his companion about a dream.
(17:47):
And the man said, I had this dream, and in
my dream, a loaf of barley bread came tumbling down
into the Midian night camp, and it hit a tent,
turned it over and knocked it flat. His companion answered,
your dream can mean only one thing. God has given Gideon,
son of Joe ash the Israel victory over a Midian
(18:10):
and all his allies. And when Gideon heard the dream
and interpretation, he bowed in worship, before the Lord. Number one,
what did gidn't have in order for you and I
to overcome insurmountable odds? Number one, we need a word
from the Lord. Number two, we need a purer or
some puras in our life, or we gotta beat a
purer to somebody else. And here's number three. What do
(18:30):
you need? You need a grateful heart, because it says
then he started to worship the Lord. Can you see
the guy goes bro, what's your dream? Getting sneaks up
to the tent, gets an uncover of darkness, gets close
to the tent. How close to a tent do you
have to get in order to hear people talking in
a tent? Pretty close? Pretty close, maybe about ten feet
And he's right there and he's listening, and all of
(18:50):
a sudden he hears a guy say, ah, I've had
this dream and in this dream, Oh my gosh, I
saw this barley loaf. You know, barley bread is actually
the lowest level of bread in Israel, right, barley bread? Okay,
then you have wheat bread, then you have whole wheat,
then you have vegan non gm O gluten free bread. Everybody, Okay,
(19:12):
it's the lowest level of bread. Okay, I forgot the matza.
I forgot the falafo. I forgot all that stuff anyway,
and the pita bread. Forgot the pea bread. Peter bread
is right in between there, the barley bread. And he goes,
I saw this barley. What a weird dream. Right, two guys,
two warriors. Right, let me oil my beard first, let
(19:32):
me sharpen my blade. Bro, I had this dream last night.
I don't know what are you doing. I don't know.
I was filing my nail. I was thinking about this,
and I saw this big bread roll down and wipe
out our camp, broy, if this was Hawaiian Bra, I
saw this big, huge malisada roll down. Why I come down,
(19:54):
colouse picking up sugar along the way. Stop riding my tent.
What do you think that means? I think we need
to eat it. Oh, you gotta use the imagination. So
he's reading this, he's been like, I saw this thing
rolling down. Oh my goodness, this thing is crazy. And
(20:15):
he could only mean one thing, and then he had
the dream and the interpretation. He bowed in worship before
the Lord. So there he is. I don't know where
where did he Where did he bow? Right there? He's
like listening. Did he listen? I don't know what he did?
Like was litening? You are my champie. I don't know
what he was singing. I don't know, like, like what
did he sing? All of us have to be quiet,
though you kind of sing loud. What if you were
(20:35):
worshiping the enemy found you my house worshiping bosted so
probably was quiet inside his heart. I don't know about you,
but if I heard that, I'd be looking at pure,
Pure would be looking at me. I'm like, oh, people
with like a silent happiness. Yes, yes, yes, I'll be
(21:05):
doing like I guess like I'll be doing. I'll be
doing I would say it for the eleven, not for
the nine. But I'll be like I'll be doing the
Roger Rabbit. I've been doing the eighties Carlton, I'll be
like doing everything. I'll be doing nineties. Nobody did any
nineties was grunged. They didn't dance in the nineties. You
know what I'm saying, I TikTok that whole thing. I'll
be like, yes, worshiping to the Lord with your whole body,
with all your soul, all your strength. See number three.
(21:28):
You gotta be grateful, because when you're grateful, God can
do so many things to people who are grateful. When
when we feel entitled, when we feel like we're owed something,
when we feel like unimpressed by God, God can't work
through us. Jesus couldn't do miracles in his own hometown
because they were not grateful. Really, see, when getting heard
(21:51):
the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship before
the Lord. And when we bow and worship before the Lord,
God does amazing things. He begins to open doors. Like
you can't even believe it. He begins to do things.
As a matter of fact, when I look at this
saw one hundred verse forces as enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise, give thanks to him and
(22:13):
praise his name. He's going from one level to the next,
opening up his heart to God. The first enter his
gates with thanksgiving. He opens, comes into the gates of
the temple, and he bring thanks. Said Lord, I thank
you God, I thank you. I'll give you all the
I thank you for my life. I thank you for
my family. I thank you for my wife. I thank
you for my kids. I thank you for our church.
I thank you for my health. I thank you for
my friends, I thank you for my family, whatever it is,
(22:35):
just be thankful. Watch when you begin to thank If
you are feeling down, just start doing it. I don't
even want to start. Then don't start. But if you start,
you imagine what God does. You will have a list
of things that you never thought you had when you
just saying I thank you for this. I remember when
I was a young Youth pastor I was in Japan.
While I was in Japan on a missions team, I
(22:56):
went to the Youth with a Mission base. Why wham
youth with a mission? Some people call it youth without
any money? Of why wham? And if you know their
missionaries and they need some port. And I remember when
I was at the YWAM base, I was sitting down
and my friend Jeff McKay, who was a pastor in Japan,
began to teach. He says, you know what I did.
All I do is this. Sometimes I don't feel grateful.
Sometimes I feel pretty bummed about my situation. Sometimes I
(23:18):
can just feel down. So I do this. I just
start off with Lord, I thank you for my hair,
I thank you for my head, I thank you for
my ears. That I can hear. I thank you in
my eyes I can still see. I thank you for
my nose that I can smell. I thank you for
my mouth. God. I thank you for my arms. I
thank you for my chest, and thank you for my hands,
and thank you for my legs. I thank you for
my feet. God, I thank you for the shoes. I
thank you for my clothes. And he starts. You start
naming things, and all of a sudden, before you know it,
(23:42):
you're in an attitude of gratitude. And when God has
an attitude of gratitude with his kids, he does amazing things.
Then I begin to think about this. When I worship,
it's more than worship. It's not just entering his gates
with thanksgiving, it's entering his courts with praise. Now you
start praising God, you said, who are who he is?
And when you read scripture you got all kinds adjectives
for great and and verbs for God. And that's the
(24:03):
amazing thing. So when you come to church, when you're
pulling into the parking lot, start off with thanksgiving. When
you get into the parking lot and you see the
parking attendant and he goes here, but you want to
go there. But he goes, no here, thank him, thank him,
said God, and thank you for that parking lot attending.
He's just doing his job. Thank you Lord. Maybe maybe
I should go out there and help him and see
(24:24):
what it's like once in a while. Oh no, I'm not.
I'm not saying nothing to nobody. I'm not saying nothing.
I don't know. I don't know if any situations. Nobody
told me. I didn't read the reports last week. But
oh God, I know. And then you come in enter
his gates with thanksgiving, and then you walk into the
same you walk into the lobby. I want to praise
the Lord. There's a cross already in there. They got
a cross in the lobby and across on Steve double
(24:46):
crosses anyway, moving right on praising the Lord. And then
you enter with worship, but you don't worship. Worship is
more than just singing a great song, a song that
is anointed and moves my heart. Worship is powerful. Worship
is a weapon. As a matter of fact, last couldn't
best goes? Why don't you? Why are you tired already?
Why are you ready? Why are you looking at your phone?
Why it's fate already? So I'm one forty nine, Verse
(25:07):
five to six. This is the first that I found. Honey,
Let the saints be joyful in glory. Let them sing
aloud on their beds. Let the high praise of God
be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in
their hand. I love this. Let the write it down.
The new King James. The King James version says it
the best. Let the saints be joyful in glory. Let
(25:27):
them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praise
of God be in their mouth. When I open up
my mouth, Let the high praise of God be in
their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hands.
The word of God is like a duel ed sword.
(25:47):
This is a word. You got a word in your hand,
and praises in your mouth. Somebody say amen, And that
is the weapon that God uses. That is the thing
that God does. And then God does something amazing. And
then it goes on to say that all of a sudden,
that he comes down to his men. And it says
this that three hundred men. In verse eighteen, he divided
(26:08):
the three hundred men into three groups. No, go to
verse fifteen. Go to verse fifteen. And when getting heard
the dream and its interpretation he bought in worship before
the Lord, and then he returned to the Israelite camp
and he shouted, look, he's on fire. Now, he's on fire.
Right now. He goes, get up, get up for the Lord.
Your God has given you victory over the minny night hordes.
(26:29):
And he divided three hundred men into three groups and
gave each man a rams horn and a clay jar
and a torch in it. Look, check it out. He goes,
get up, everybody, one hundred men over here. I need
one hundred men over there. I need a one hundred
men over there. I needed a social distance because we
need to look broad and far a wide. We're gonna
make sure that. I want to get ready. So every man,
come over here, come over here, come here, bring a jar.
(26:51):
Unless you bought a jar from home. You brought a
jar from home. Yeah, my wife said, I can bring up,
but I gotta bring back the lid. Okay, come over here,
bring your jar. We got a jar, we got a torch,
we got a torch, and we got ourselves A so far, Greg,
I'm gonna thank you for letting me by your far. Oh, oh,
thank you for thank you a so far. You know,
(27:11):
a so far is this is a rams horn. This
is a rams horn, and you would blow this, and
the so far was very very important, and you would
blow I'm not gonna blow it. Don't worry. Yeah, I
know you guys sanitize it, but you don't have to
sanitize it. That for me. But that makes sense anyway.
So grab this so far and every man, three hundred
men had a jar, had a torch and had a jar.
(27:32):
But this is a big so far. So I imagine that
this is probably too big to bring into battle, too
buncky to bring into battle. So they maybe they had shorter,
smaller so fars called schoffettes. So that's a show far.
This is a show fete. Hold a small so far,
(27:54):
small so Then all of a sudden he says, this
is what we're gonna do. Then he said, keep your
eyes on me when I come to the edge of
the camp, and do just as I do. And as
soon as I and those with me blow the rams horn,
blow your horns too, all around the entire camp, and
shout for the Lord and for Gideon. I love it.
He gotta add Gideon in there. You gotta mention me
(28:17):
in the instagram. Throw a mention, will you for the
Lord and for Gideon. Funny then says, it was just
after midnight and after the changing of the guard, when
Gideon and the one hundred men with him reached the
edge of the Midian night camp, mediing line, you're still
with me, right, And suddenly they blew the rams horn
and broke their clay jars. Can you see it, guys? Now?
(28:40):
All of a sudden, all three hundred men, they're all
spread out the Midia Nights, three hundred thousand of the
maximum are all in the bottom. And every man's got
a so far, and every man's got a jar, and
every man's got a torch. And all of a sudden,
he said, you follow me when I do this, you
do this too. Here's what I want you to do.
I want you to throw your jar on the ground, crashing.
(29:01):
I want you to blow the so far. Everybody blow
your jarl. Boo boo. Everybody, come on, help me out
me let me hear you. Everybody said with me, recall,
(29:23):
blow your so far. And then when you blow the
so far, and when you have cracked your jar, I
want you to turn on your light. I want you
to turn your life. We are the world. I want
you to turn on your life, and all of a sudden,
the minion nights are gonna see your light. And when
they see your light and they hear the crash and
they hear the horns, they're gonna panic. And what they're
(29:46):
gonna do is they're gonna round one another. They're gonna
fight one another because they're gonna be so disoriented and
so fearful that they're gonna hear it. They're gonna hear
the shout for yahweh and f kidding it, they're gonna
hear it. And let me tell you, all of a sudden,
remember what you get a grateful heart. But here's number four.
He used what he had. He used what he had.
(30:09):
Everybody had us so far, and everybody had a jar,
and everybody had a torch. They didn't have a sword,
they didn't have a tent peg, they didn't have a hammer,
they didn't have all those other things that everybody else has.
But victory came. They didn't have all the backup, they
(30:32):
didn't have all the workings out, they didn't have all
the everybody doing this and confusing. Everybody had what they had,
and the Lord gave him victory. He had what he had.
Some of you are thinking to yourself, so that it's
all I've got. This is a high school education. All
I've got. Where's the team can come on up? All
(30:52):
I've got, it's just this little job right now. All
I have. It's just a little bit hope. All we've got.
It's just a little bit in our savings. All we've got,
just a little bit of hope left. All I have,
whatever it is, give it to God. Whatever's in your hands,
God can multiply it, he can use it for his glory.
(31:13):
In the Nyima Jesus, somebody say amen, Amen. So then
the Bible says in verse twenty one, And each man
stood in this position around the camp and watched as
all the minion knights rushed around in panic, shouting as
they ran to escape. And when the three hundred years
of lights blew.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Their rams horns, the Lord caused wars in camp to
fight against each other with their swords, and those who
were not killed fled to places as far away as
Beth Chatan near Zarah and to the border of Abela.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Maha near Tabath. I did not take Hebrew. I'm just
natural at this. And then verse twenty three. And then
Gideon went and the singers can come on up, you
guys can come into position. And then Gideon went for
the sent for the warriors of Naphtali and Asher and Manassa,
who joined him in the chasing of the army of men.
And get In also sent messengers through the hill country
(32:04):
of Ephraim saying, come down to the attack of the
mini Knites and cut them off at the shallow crossings
of the Jordan River and at Beth Hurrah. And so
all the men of Fhraim did as they were told.
In other words, four more tribes out of twelve all
came down to help the Israelites defeat the Minionites. This
(32:24):
is amazing. So all the men of Ephraim did as
they were told. And then they captured Oreb and Zebe
and the two minion Nite commanders, killing Areb and the
rock of Orb and Zeb and the white press of Zeb.
And they continued to chase the minion Kites. And after
the Israelites brought the heads of Oreb and Zebe to
get In, who was by the Jordan River. So why
(32:47):
did they bring their heads to the Gideon for proof
that they killed, brought proof, so you can imagine, all
of a sudden, the route is on. They're cutting them
off at the Jordan River. The men are panicking. It's
early in the morning. They find Zebe and they find
all Ram. They were killing the armies of God for
seven years and killing the Israelites. All of a sudden
(33:08):
they bring the two heads I have here at Gideon, Gideon,
the famous warrior, I have. I have all Ram here
on my right, and see oh my wait, wait, my
laugh and Seebo my right sorry, oh my god them
God goes, let's go. It's time to totally annihilate the
enemy and put them underneath our feet. In the name
of Jesus. Amen, Amen, what are you facing? Is it
(33:31):
a health situation? What are you facing? Is it a
relationship situation? Is it between your kids, or it's between
your husband or between your wife? What is it? You
feel like the deck is stacked against you, that there's
no way that you think you're gonna win, but you're
trusting God for the victory club. What is it? Whatever
it is, right now.
