Speaker 1 (00:02):
Today on the Converged Network, Pastor Michelle will be sharing
God's heart with you through the Word of God before.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
She ministers to you.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Michelle Jackson serves as Senior Pastor of Hope Christian Church
in Belfville, Maryland. She is the founder of the Converged Network,
which is home to Harry Jackson Ministry's Hope Connection and
her podcast for Women Life in the Overflow. Today's teaching,
we'll explore how the Lord is using people like you
and me to build his kingdom and usher in a

(00:33):
new air of glory. Here we go.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Hey, everybody, this is Michelle Jackson and I am coming
to you on a new theme today. I'm really excited
about this theme because I think that a lot of
us have been going through troubles, struggles, heartaches, and you know,
I love the terminology perfect storm because I think that's
what we've been going through. So let's go the word

(01:00):
first before we unpack what a perfect storm is. So
I want to look today at Hebrews chapter twelve.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
And I want to look at a couple of verses, and.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I'm going to be reading out of the New King James,
and I'm going to start reading in verse twenty five.
See that you do not refuse him who speaks. For
if they do not escape who refused him who spoke
on earth, much more shall we not escape if we
turn away from him who speaks from heaven, whose voice

(01:31):
shook the earth. But now he has promised, saying, yet
once more, I will shake not only the earth but
also heaven. Now this yet once more indicates the removal
of those things that are being shaken, as of things

(01:51):
that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken
may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which
cannot be shaken, let us have grace by which we
may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear. For
our God is a consuming fire. May the Lord add

(02:14):
a blessing to his holy word. So we're reading the
Letter of the Letter to the Hebrews today, and these
verses are explaining to us that we need to heed
the voice of the Lord through the voice of Jesus Christ.
But also not allow us not allow ourselves to forget
that he represents the agenda of the Father. And so

(02:36):
the Lord is saying He's going to shake the heavens
and the earth, so that what remains is the things.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
That are of him, that were created by him.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
And so when we look at the things that are
being shaken, the things that are being removed, there's a
lot of teaching out there, and you'll hear it that
the things that are that are being shaken and are
being dismantled, and the season of shaking, in the season
of pandemic, even the things that are shakeable are actually manufactured,

(03:07):
things that are man made, that are man's agenda, man's idols,
are being shaken and removed so that only the unshakable.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Things will remain.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
How many know that the Bible declares that heaven and
nurse shall pass away, but not one bit of his
word will remain unfulfilled. And so it's the voice of
God that spoke all the world that we see into existence,
and he is speaking now to say, don't refuse my son,
don't refuse me, don't refuse the work that I'm establishing,

(03:39):
because that is what's going to be unshakable. So let's
talk about perfect storms, because you know what happens is
that multiple things come together. I don't know about you,
but it was pandemic, it was the lockdown, it was
work adjustments, it was family tensions. There were so many
things going on in twenty twenty that have per gressed

(04:00):
into now. And if we're honest today, like we've been
marked by the pandemic, like life has fundamentally changed, the
church has fundamentally changed, how we do business has fundamentally changed,
and it's not going backwards.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
So the Dictionary.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Describes a perfect storm as critical or disastrous situations created
by a powerful concurrence of factors. So that means it's
not just one thing. It's like when all the things
happen at one time. How many know, sometimes you feel
like if it's not one thing, it's the other, Like

(04:35):
that's kind of what a perfect storm is. Like it's like,
oh my goodness, there's a week in my house and
my car broke down, and my dog is sick, like
or my kid is sick, or it's like all the
things happening all the same time. But we live today
in a culture where we're seeing political division, moral decay,
broken homes, violence in our streets, rising, addiction, mental health

(04:56):
crisis on the rise, persecution of the church globally, and
things are increasing on every side, and so it's a
tense time and so the good news is is that
God does not see the shaking is something to be
afraid of, but something that is the shake. The shaking
is the making of the church. It's it's exposing what

(05:19):
is eternal, what is of eternal weight of glory, and
where God really is. And so right now, if we're
seeing things being dismantled, we can be so afraid. We
can feel like, oh, my goodness, I thought this thing
was sturdy. I thought this business was sturdy. I thought
this ministry model was sturdy. And we can look at

(05:39):
it and we can get so dismayed about the things
that are falling. But what God is saying to us
is put your trust in me, put your dependence on me,
because I and my kingdom are unshakeable. So this is
a reason why even as Hebrews twelve, verse twenty eight
says that we can be thankful that we can please
God by worshiping him and holy awe and fear, because

(06:04):
He is a devouring fire. So this is so good.
I know that this has been like such a stressful time.
And I don't know about you, but I had to
do like a news fast, you know, like I had
to like renew my mind with the word of God,
and like, stop watching the news all of the time,
because the news cycle started to put me in a

(06:24):
place of depression, of anxiety, of weariness, of fatigue. And
I think that a lot of Americans who are not
in the Word that are not firmly rooted and grounded
in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This is
the wearing down of people and their mentality to make
them feel subjected to what's happening.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
But the Lord is.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Using this by means of sifting everything that does not
have a solid foundation. And so what we have to
recognize is that without discernment and without God's leading, we
will put our trust in things that are shakeable, things
that have no value.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Past the present.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
I don't know about you, but I love like the
studies that they've done on education. And so there's one
the Marshmallow study. I don't know if you guys have
seen this one, but you can go on YouTube and
type in kids and be like marshmallow study and you
can see it. But in the study, they put marshmallows
in front of the kids. The teachers are like, hey,
you know, I'm gonna leave the room, but eat the

(07:33):
marshmallow when I come back. And of course there are
kids that are like dog on it. I mean the
marshmallow now, like bum waiting for the teacher to come back,
because there's that there's that temptation of we know what
a marshmallow tastes like, we know that it's sweet, we
know that it's full of sugar, we know that we
like them, and so we're not gonna wait for the

(07:53):
teacher to come back.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
We're just gonna eat it now.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
And so I think that that's like a good example
for us to think about some of the things we
put our trust in. We know what it looks like,
we know what it kind of tastes like, what it
feels like, how it makes us feel, and so we'll
go with right what's right in front of us, instead
of waiting on the teacher, waiting on Jesus Christ to
come back to instruct us or to give us more
information about how to handle our lives and handle how

(08:19):
to handle life situations. And so right now, it's really
challenging because even as Christians, we have to continue to
renew our mind on the Word of God and allow
ourselves to be fined, to be defined, not by the storm,
not by what's happening, but by what is able to

(08:40):
stand the pressure, what's able to stand the test. So
as as a side point, everything that the enemy tries
to counterfeit or tries to manufacture as a means for evil,
God in his sovereign power, has the capacity to turn
this for our good. So as believers and even as intercessors,

(09:01):
those who are standing in the gap praying for our nation,
we have to remember that everything is that it's falling
right now, it's an opportunity for God to elevate, to
raise up those things that are of Him. And so
I believe that we're going to start to see the
wind of the Holy Spirit hit this nation with revival
fire like we've never seen before, because now it can

(09:25):
be exposed and be seen without the artifices and the
manufacturing of human of humanity and of flesh and of wickedness.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Really that it can be a pure move of God.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
And so I'm excited for what the days are going
to look like ahead. So let's ask ourselves this question today,
what does it look like to really be secure in God?
So security is not just about safety, come on, it's
about knowing that God has us and that.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
His eye is over us.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
So security doesn't negate that we have to have that
we don't have to have courage, but it does mean
that we feel safe, that we know we're safe, that
we're in the palm of his hand, and that he
is the god who sees, that he is the god
who knows fully. So John sixteen thirty three is a
promise of Jesus that we can really hold on into

(10:19):
hold on to you in these times. And it says
that in this world we will have trouble, we will
have problems, we will have all kinds of challenges. How
many have had a challenge in the last year. Amen,
But we can take heart or we can take courage
because Jesus has overcome the world. So you not only

(10:39):
have to take heart because something is coming against you
that discourages you. You not only have to take heart
because things can cause you to be so afraid. I remember,
like when the pandemic first hit, like I was afraid.
I was deathly afraid of getting sick and not being
in contact with my family.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
I don't know if you remember, but.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
So many people were hospitalized, people went into comas for
weeks at a time, and their family members couldn't talk
to them. Nurses weren't able to FaceTime their family members.
Like I was deathly afraid of that being the case.
But by the hand of God, that was not what happened,
you know. But instead of having fear, we can take
heart and know that everything that's coming against us, Jesus

(11:24):
has already overcome and because of that, we too can
overcome by His power. So the other thing I want
to mention is like, security doesn't mean that we're not
going to get stretched, Like I was stretched beyond my
capacity with all kinds of fears and anxieties when it
came to the pandemic.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
I'm just being honest.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Some of y'all were like, holy ghost field and fire baptized.
That was not me, okay, Like I was afraid. I
have never been sick in my life. That was a fear,
and that was a that was a door. Fear was
a door where the enemy came in to wreak havoc
in my life, to steal peace for me. I was
very anxious. I was very concerned. I was masked up

(12:04):
and sprayan lizes all on everything that couldn't move and
staying socially distanced when the pandemic hit in twenty twenty,
but over time, come on, we all have been that
way in aspects in our life, in different things. But
as we became more accustomed to the affront that the
virus has brought on, we've had more education. We know

(12:26):
what is happening a little bit more. We don't know everything,
but now we have a comfort level with this kind
of threat being in our midst right, we've been strengthened
in courage. Well, that's the same thing that happens to
us because when we get stretched, it actually means that
we're building resistance, meaning we're building inner strength. And so

(12:51):
if we are ever stretched, even when you work out,
you do resistance training, and the muscles actually tear apart
and build back, the fibers build back stres So that's
what happens in these moments of stretching our spiritual muscles,
when we let the Lord into these situations. And so literally,
I'm praying, like God, I'm declaring Psalm ninety one over

(13:12):
my household. I'm believing that I'm under the shadow of
your wing, but I am afraid. And the Lord began
to sovereignly deal and dismantle every fear with his word
and his presence.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
And so the Lord.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Wants us to in this time know that security in
him is not just a feeling of safety. It's actually
knowing that we have a God who sees Jehovah Elroy,
the God who sees, who oversees us. And number two,
that security in him doesn't mean that we won't have
to have courage. We will have battles that we have

(13:47):
to face. There will be things that will have to overcome.
There will be things that will have to drive out
ourselves by the authority and the power that Christ has
given us to steward as his church. We will have
to learn how to step up and confront those things
in our life, but also those things that tried to
come against our heart.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
We will have to speak to those things.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
No weapon may no weapon formed against you may prosper,
but you will have to rise up with the tongue
of condemnation to strike those weapons down. Right, So we
know that security doesn't mean we won't have to operate
by faith. It doesn't mean we won't have to have courage.
It doesn't mean that we won't have to declare and
decree and establish the word of God in our life.

(14:31):
But it does mean that victory is assured to us
because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross. And
then finally we know that security doesn't mean that we
won't be stretched. Come on, if we're gonna be able
to carry more of the way that the glory of God,
more of what He is inviting us into in this season,

(14:52):
we are going to have to be stretched and strengthened
through that process. So I just want to encourage you
that not every storm comes to destroy you. Not every
storm comes to destroy you. Some storms come to clear
the way, some storms come to carry you into a
new position. And I believe that this is a time

(15:13):
in the season where God is carrying his church into
a new dimension, a new way of structuring itself. We
got caught up in a lot of political division, We
got caught up in a lot of things that were
man made ways. And the Lord is saying, I want
my ecclaca, I want my ruling body of my church
to be a pure voice and a pure stream and

(15:37):
to carry a tangibility of my anointing like it's never
carried before. So I'm excited for what the Lord is
doing in the midst of perfect storms. I want to
pray for you as we kind of close out this teaching.
I'm going to continue on this, on this theme of
perfect storms and just encourage you where you are, because

(15:58):
God is moving, even in the midst of one thing
after the other, even in the midst of powerful concurrence
of factors, even in the midst of danger situations, even
with George Floyd, even with all the things that have
happened in our nation, that doesn't negate the fact that
the Lord is shaking those things that can be shaken,
so that what remains is the Kingdom of God, that

(16:21):
we will inherit, and that the Kingdom of God will
be established. So let's just move into that place of
thanksgiving and see our situations and our even our world
with the eyes of faith and with the word of God. So, Father,
in the name of Jesus, we just thank you. We
bless your holy name, and we just honor you, and

(16:41):
we just thank you Lord that even in the midst
of the storm, you've been with us, Even in the
midst of the storm, even in the midst of the fire,
even in the midst of the rain, You've been in
the midst of the unexpected situations. You've been in the
midst of the financial ups and downs. You've been in
the midst of everything that we've been going through. And
even still you have a plan and a purpose for

(17:05):
which you are allowing the shaking. So, Father, help us
to see those things that are being sifted out of
our personal lives, even our hearts and our world, that
do not have solid foundations. Lord, help us to see
those things that remain in our life. The relationships, the connections,
the foundational truths of your word are the unshakable things

(17:27):
that we can stand on, that we can rely on.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
I thank you that encouragement comes from your sanctuary today,
and strength comes from your sanctuary in Heaven to the
believers even as they listen to this teaching today, Lord,
that they would know that you overcame the world and
so they can overcome. I thank you for standing up
and a rising up even on the inside today, that

(17:52):
they will know that they have the authority and the
power and even the conviction to continue to stand even
in the face of adversity. Lord, we just bless you,
and we thank you, and we thank you that you're
building your kingdom so We agree with you, and we
agree with the prayer of Jesus. Let your kingdom come.
Letter will be done on earth as it is in
heaven in Jesus name.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Amen.
