Speaker 1 (00:02):
Today on the Converged Network, Pastor Michelle will be sharing
God's heart with you through the Word of God before
she ministers to you. Michelle Jackson serves as Senior Pastor
of Hope Christian Church in Belfville, Maryland. She is the
founder of the Converged Network, which is home to Harry
Jackson Ministry's Hope Connection and her podcast for Women Life.

(00:24):
In the overflow. Today's teaching, we'll explore how the Lord
is using people like you and me to build his
kingdom and usher in a new air of glory.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Here we go, Hi everyone, this is Michelle Jackson and
I want to minister Dday from the theme of He
is the Potter and we are the clay. Isaiah forty
five nine and ten says what sorrow waits those who
argue with their creator? Does a claypot argue with its maker?

(00:58):
Does the does the dispute with one who shapes it,
saying stop, you're doing it wrong? Does the pod exclaim
how clumsy you must be, How terrible would be for
a newborn to say that it's father, why was I born?
Or if it said to its mother, why did you
make me this way? And so I want us to

(01:22):
start like thinking about this because oftentimes in our life,
because we were born into sin and shaped in iniquity,
and we're in a fallen world, we can question ourselves
so much and question our origins, our sovereign beginnings. And
let's be honest, like the foundation of a lot of

(01:43):
our lives is the same because of what happened in
the Garden of Eden, that Adam and Eve sinned, and
sin entered into the world, and brokenness entered the world,
and shame and abandonment and rejection, all of these things
entered the world. And so these questions can be questions.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
That we have.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
But the Lord is the one who created the heavens,
He created the earth, and he created people to.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Live in it.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
And he is the one that stretched his hands and
made the heavens and the stars at his command and
his word. And so for us in this season where
God is beginning to do new things and do new
things through his church and bring a new wind, and
we're learning how to flow with what God wants to do.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
This is who he is, This is what he does.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
He creates in us a new and he takes something
messy and he makes beautiful things just like it's saying here,
like you take clay and you make something beautiful. I
remember in high school that was like the first time
I was introduced to pottery or the art of pottery
and making things and taking the slab of clay and

(02:56):
getting it on the wheel and learning how to mold
it and how to water it, and how to sculpt it,
and how to craft something out of this blob of nessingness.
And sometimes we're looking at our lives through the eyes
of the facts of our situation. We grew up with
single parents, and we grew up in proverssed or we

(03:17):
grew up with an alcoholic father, or we grew up
and so many of these things shapes our life. But
Godden is redemptive grace. He comes alongside of us, and
he turns all of our sorrow into joy, and he
turns our tests into testimonies. As we walk in his
grace and his love, and every step towards purpose and

(03:41):
destiny in him is one step away. That he is
one step away from our past. And every single day
as we do that, we look back and we've come
so far as we've journeyed with him, And so I
just want to encourage you today that he takes our
addictions and causes us to be a dependent upon on
him and to be healed. And he takes our abandonment

(04:03):
and know and helps us to know that we've received
his peace and that we have a place in his
family and our baggage. He lets us be free of
our mistakes. And so there's such redemption in God's will
and his plan when we allow him to have the
final authority on the design and the direction of our life.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
So I love it.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
We who argues with the Potter like who's shaping them right?
And so many of us that's what we do in
our in our spiritual walk, you know, we we we
discount what God wants to do in the present because
of our past. And God is saying, like, look a
look at me. I'm the Potter, and I am a
master at putting pieces together. I'm a master at taking

(04:47):
your past and your struggles and even with you're facing
today and using them all to shape you into an
effective and powerful witness for me. And He is so
key in turning I reach story of shame into a
story of glory. Like right now I think about the
story of Ruth and I think about the fact that
you know, she was married young, and she married a

(05:10):
man who passed away, and then her mother in law
is like, I'm moving back to my land, and she
had to make a decision. She had to decide, am
I going to go with my mother in law, Naomi,
or am I going to stay here in this land?
And I've always known, and Ruth decided to enter into
a new season and to travel with Naomi and to
come into a place that became the land of promise

(05:31):
for her new season.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
And I just hear the.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Lord saying today to us that what we've seen this
far compares nothing to the glory that lies ahead of us,
and that the world needs you to let God work
in this way in this time, that there's a whole
generation that needs to hear what God is doing in
this season in your life, and that He is propelling

(05:55):
you into a new season. So I just want to
encourage you, like, what steps today can we take to
let God shape us? Instead of having the attitude that
the Lord was saying that his people had in this
season and through the prophet Isaiah, you know, they were saying, oh, gosh,
well you're doing it wrong God. You know, and we

(06:17):
can feel like that right because we have Pinterest boards
and we are if we're not careful, we can be
color by number people, meaning we have a vision for
our life. And because we're human and we do not
have infinite wisdom, we can boil things down to a
color by number, this, by that, this, by that, then

(06:39):
you do this, then you do that, and we can
try to manage it down, manage life with control so
that we don't get hurt, so that we don't have
to be stretched, so that we don't have to be
pressed in getting into what we think is God's vision

(07:01):
for our life. And the Lord is just saying, you're
in my hands. You're in my hands and my protection,
and I know exactly what it takes to get you
from point A to point B, and the picture that
you have for your life, I have even greater.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
I know what it's going to take, and I.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Can speak into you, speak the truth of my word
and shape you and bring you hope in the darkness.
And so I love it because Romans eight twenty eight
flows so and so naturally and so succinctly here, because

(07:42):
the Bible tells us that we're being shaped, We're being
conformed into the image of Jesus Christ, the firstborn son,
who was meant to be the first of many brothers
and sisters.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
And so the.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Bible tells us that all things work together, And we
know for those who love God, all things work together
for good, for those that are called according to His purpose,
for those whom he foreknew, He also predestined to be
conformed to the image of his son, in order that
he might be the first born among many brothers, parentheses

(08:20):
and sisters. And those whom he predestined he also called,
and those whom he called he also justified, and those
whom he justified he also glorified. What shall we say then,
of these things? If God before us, who can be
against us? So God is shaping your life in order

(08:42):
that you would look like a member of his family
and a sibling of Jesus. So many things that we
think we need we don't need, because that's the ultimate destiny.
Right to be a first to be a sibling of
the firstborn son of God, to be shaped into the

(09:02):
image of Jesus Christ, that's destiny.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Right. We have so many other plans.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Right. We want to be the best at this, We
want to excel in that. But ultimately, at the end
of the day, when we are in eternity, God wants
his church, his bride to look like his son, and
so that's got to be on part of our agenda.
That's got to be a part of our goals for life.
And so sometimes He uses struggle to get us to

(09:29):
the place of surrender so that we're we get uncomfortable
and then we get more comfortable in his hand of
his way of shaping us. And so I just want
to encourage you that if you and I were always
comfortable in our flesh, we probably wouldn't step out on faith. Ever,
we probably wouldn't we probably wouldn't venture into the unknown

(09:51):
if we were allowed to be comfortable in every season.
So sometimes you're feeling of discomfort or your feeling of
something isn't right. Isn't always if something's wrong, is that
God has given you a divine dissatisfaction to cause you
to allow him to shape and mold you into where
He needs you to be for the days and the
seasons ahead. You know, I love pottery because it's a process. Right,

(10:16):
You have to shape the clay, You've got a trim it,
and then it has to go into the kiln or
the fire oven so that it can be perfected, and
so that the shape that the clay has been made
into is sturdy and then can go through the process
of glazing and decoration and painting and then be fired

(10:37):
and be ready for use. And so when the Bible
saying to us, like does the clay pot argue with
its maker? The potter always has a design in mind,
but it comes as the potter begins to shape, as
the potter begins to mold the clay, the design that's
in the mind of the potter begins to come forth.

(10:59):
And even as the potter begins to remove stones or
other sentiment that might be in the clay that might
cause it not to be able to withstand the heat
when it goes.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Into the kiln. Right Like, it's the same thing with
our God.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
He has a design in mind for your life and
everything and every stage that you're going through, Like he's
using those things to shape you, to muld you, to
cultivate you, to call you forth, and even as if
sometimes it feels like you're being pulled in so many directions,
but it's like the Lord is shaping you and he's
removing stones in your heart. He's removing hardness in your character,

(11:39):
all the things that won't stand under the fiery tests
for the future, under the things that prep us and
purify us and cause us to be more like the
image of his son, all of those things. He knows
what he's doing, and so I just want to encourage
you today to trust him in the process. You know,
it's not always easy. It's not always you know, rainbows

(12:01):
and candy canes. You know, it's not always stuff that
we like that God begins to do in our life.
And it's walking with Jesus as pleasurable, but it also
causes us to have to confront those areas of desire,
and sometimes it.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Can be painful. And so, you know, when we look.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
At the life of Jesus, we see that his life
was perfect, it was sinless, it was blameless, but not
everything that he went through was easy. Being betrayed by
his friends and disciple, you know, going to the cross,
and being flogged and accused and beaten and bruce, all
of these things were not easy. But yet it was

(12:43):
the call of God and the plan for his life,
and he he set before him the satisfaction of completing
the goal. It was for the joy that was set
before him that he endured the cross. And so when
we think about that, sometimes the things that God wants
to do as he begins to pull the pieces of
our life together, and he may call us to walk

(13:06):
out of this relationship, or he may call us to
walk out of this habit, or these are like it
can be a struggle in the moment, but it's for
the joy of pleasing Him that set before us, that
causes us, it inspires us, that provokes us to be
faithful to what God's.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Calling us to do.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
So I want to ask you, like, what steps can
you take today to let God have his way in
your life? You know what disputes do you have with
the Lord in this time in your life? You know
about what his plan is. Can we come to a
place where we can say, Father, I trust you, and
even though I don't understand, and even though I may

(13:44):
not be able to trace you, I can still trust you.
Can we come to that place today, brothers and sisters,
Because that place, that place of surrender, that is the
place where God begins to be able to move and
the supernatural begins to break open to you and I
know that God wants to do amazing things in your life.

(14:06):
Last time we talked about Isaiah forty three nineteen, Behold,
the Lord is doing a new thing. He'll bring rivers
in the desert. The Lord always will bring forth from
something that looks like nothing. I was sharing the last time,
you know about just how the Lord will use messes

(14:28):
and turn them into miracles and messages, And how the
supernatural has really begun to break out in our church
because of the willingness to redig the well of intercession
and prayer and really get in the glory and really
know what the Lord wants to do and really partner
with him and to be his voice, and how people
began to be promoted and we began to see a

(14:49):
dimension of financial breakthrough. But I believe those things came
not just because God wants to bless his people.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
He does, but I believe it's because.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
We began to take on the identity of children of
God and servants of God, where He could bless us
and elevate us and promote us, And that we now
become voices in every arena for Him. That when we
move to the new neighborhood, we know that we're there
on assignment, Like when we go to the new job,
we know that we're there on assignment, and that God's

(15:19):
given us an influence to be a voice for righteousness
and justice and for his cause, and that He's going
to use us in mighty ways in different arenas, Like
we didn't just get blessed to consume the blessing on ourselves,
but the Lord elevated us to be deliverers, to be
those modern day Daniels and Joseph's and Esther's and Daniels

(15:39):
in every sphere of society. And so right now in
your life, you may be wondering why did this door close,
why did this door open? Why did this certain situation end?
And I want to encourage you not to question or
to say God, you're doing it wrong, but to start
to agree with God that every door that's closed was

(16:00):
for your protection, that you're not being held back, that
you're being held in position, That God has a plan
and a purpose for your life, and that he uses
the things that we don't understand to cause us to
be shaped into the image of His son if we
don't quit and we don't give up. So I just
want you to declare that over yourself. You know, quitting

(16:22):
is not an option because that's not who I am. Right,
Quitting walking with the Lord because of a challenge or
something didn't go our way, or we're disappointed, or whatever
it may be that may cause you to shrink back
from the promises of God. That's not who we are.
We're not going to shrink back. We're not going to
shrink back from the promise of God. So, you know,

(16:45):
it's so important in these moments that we learn to
just rely on the Potter, just rely on his design
saying okay Potter, Okay, Lord, I'm the clay, Mold me
and make me.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
This is what I pray.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
That was a song, right, And so from that place
of revelation, as we begin to just submit ourselves and say, Lord,
your ways are higher than mine, your wisdom is higher
than mine. Your thoughts turn out my thoughts I don't
have the capacity show me, the Lord will begin to
show us how to walk in the new season and

(17:19):
in the new dimension. And so I just believe that
there's revelation for you for this season. There is wisdom
from God for you in this season to walk it
out and to become more like Jesus to become that overcomer,
to be that one to speak and walk in the
authority of God, to bring healing where you go, and

(17:42):
for God to be glorified in your life. So I
just want to pray with you and I want to
decree over you that you are being made into the
image of God. So Lord, I just thank you for
every person under the side of my voice today. Lord,
I just thank you that you know they're lying down
and you know they're rising up. God, You're intimately acquainted

(18:05):
with their life.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Lord.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
You know their daily ops, you know their daily operations,
and when you look in their life, and when you
look in their home and when you look in their community,
you see and know what's possible. So Potter, I thank
you that you're calling forth potential.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Today.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
I thank you that you're calling forth godly destiny. Lord,
I thank you that even from the foundation of the world,
you ordained purpose to come from their life. And so Lord,
today we just say we trust you, We honor you, Lord.
In the places where we've questioned, where we've argued with you,
where where we've gone back and forth about what you

(18:40):
want to do in our lives. Father, we repent today
and we turn our heart back to you with fresh
love and fresh perspective and fresh eyes. That you are
the one that created the heaven and the earth. You
created us, and that we are your handiwork. We are
your poemo, We are your masterpiece, the work that you
created and advance for us to do. Father, we want
to complete it. We want to be co laborers with you.

(19:03):
And so, Lord I thank you for giving us a
new heart, renewing us a right spirit. And Lord I
thank you that you will cause MANI to be elevated
and promoted as they accept the commissioning to be your
voice and your representative in this earth until your kingdom
comes and your son returns in Jesus name.
