Speaker 1 (00:00):
Come on, give him a handclop of prank. Come on,
we're talking about the King of Kings and the Lord
of Lord.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
You can golf clap me, but don't golf clap him.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
He's worthy.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Thank you, Lord. You can have your seat. Hollylujah to
the Living God. I'm gonna do my best to talk
lightly and have a voice the whole service, so I
don't hurt anybody's ears. Today, I want to say that
(00:42):
for those who are here for the very first time
or have returned to church, that we don't believe that
you're here by accident, but by divine appointment, and that
this is the day of salvation, that this is the
day of deliverance, and this is the day to say.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Yes to Him. Amen. All right.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
So Easter Easter always gets hijacked by bunnies, bite Easter eggs,
by traditions, by family dinners. But today I wanted to
talk to you all about Jesus Christ, crucified and resurrected.
You know, one thing that we have to remember is
that the Lord God was always demonstrating his power throughout scripture.
(01:27):
And when I began to look in the Bible as
I was praying and preparing to be before you today.
I was reminded that there's so many biblical accounts of
people raised to life in the Bible, not just Jesus,
but children being raised to life by prophets in the
(01:47):
Old Testament, that there were widows whose children got sick
or they were destituted, and they didn't have food, and
there were miracles. God has always been trying to invite
us in to this miraculous supernatural realm by faith, say faith.
It's by faith we have to believe. So today hearing comes,
(02:14):
and faith comes by hearing the word of God. Right,
so let's remember Elijah. This morning, Elijah raised the son
of the Zarapath widow, right by the power of the
by the power of God, Elisha raised the son of
the Shunamite woman from the dead. And so the Lord
(02:35):
was always trying to demonstrate in a practical way to
us and even to our families that he's able to
cause dead things to be alive. So we know John
three point sixteen. For God so loved the world that
he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever would believe
(02:57):
on him would not pair, would not die, but have
eternal life. And so that life that is in God.
The zoe life of God is the supernatural life force
that causes us to have life. Spiritual life. Here a
connection to the supernatural and eternal life. Do you remember
(03:21):
the man who fell on the bones of Elisha? What happened?
He came alive because of what the power of God?
Do you remember Lazarus, the friend of Jesus, And it
was to prove that resurrection from the dead was possible
(03:45):
for those that already had belief in him. Right, but
Jesus still had to go to the cross for you
and I because there was no sacrifice, say sacrifice that
would cancel the debt of sin. The Bible teaches us
that the wages of sin is death, but the gift
(04:07):
of God, the gift of Jesus, is eternal life, and
it cancels the debt of sin. And so sin is
what separates us from God. Some of us we know
that we have made mistakes in life. And there are
many that are here today and online that may feel
(04:28):
that some of the mistakes, some of the things that
they've done in their life, would separate them forever from God.
But see, the thing of it is is that when
you look back at Genesis. The thing that separated Adam
and Eve from fellowship with the Lord was sin. It
(04:50):
was simply that that sin caused shame to come, guilt
to come, and because of those burdens, they chose to
break fellowship. They didn't answer him calling. And I believe
the Lord is calling many of you home today, home
into fellowship with him because it's only through him that
(05:12):
those burdens can be lifted and that true freedom can
be experienced. It's only in Jesus Christ, and it's because
of what happened on Calvary. So this is the.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Greatest story ever told. And so I want to.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Open up the Bible because I want to show you
a couple of things that kind of took me off
guard a little bit, because you know, every good story
has a little drama. So turning your Bible to the
Gospel of Matthew, and I want to show you something.
(05:55):
Matthew Chapter twenty seven is where we're gonna go. And
(06:24):
so at the end of the chapter, we're seeing that
Joseph of Arimathea came to receive Jesus's body. We know
that the Romans were vicious, right, how many no Roman
history that they crucified not only Jesus, but they crucified thieves,
They crucified people that defied the law. And here was
(06:46):
Jesus being crucified for our sin. But he was innocent.
And so Joseph of Arimathea, who was wealthy, who had
become a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, guess what
he did. He prepared a place for Jesus's body to have.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
A tomb. I don't know how.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Many of you buried loved ones during COVID, but we
have traditions, right, We have traditions that we bury our dead,
we cremate our dead, we have a process. And what's
happening as we're about to read the scriptures is that
the people are not going to allow Jesus to be
(07:32):
treated as a common thief or criminal. They're going to
allow his body to have a place. Come on, we
don't want to be at the end of our life
and not have prepared a lot of us do we do,
gofundmeans and all that. But at this moment, our Lord
and Savior does not have a burial place. But Joseph
(07:56):
of Arimathea comes in and gives him a place. Start
in verse sixty two. On the next day, which was
the day of preparation, the chief priests and pharisees gathered
together to Pilots, saying, Sir, we remember while he was
(08:17):
still alive, how that deceiver they're talking about. Jesus said,
after three days I will rise. Therefore, command that the
tomb be made secure until the third day, lest his
disciples come by night and steal him away and say
(08:38):
he has risen from the dead, so that the last
deception will be worse than the first.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
So what are the pharis?
Speaker 2 (08:46):
What deception are the pharisees talking about him being the
son of God, him being the Lord of the Sabbath,
him having supernatural authority and ability to cast out demons
and heal the sick and cause the blind to see.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
They believe.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
They did not believe that he had true authority and
true power. And many of us today have to begin
to believe that that power that we need is in Jesus.
So verse sixty five says Pilots said to them, you
have a guard, go your way, make it as secure
(09:27):
as you know. How so they went and made the
tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard. So
we see in this moment, the opposition of the resurrection
power of God. See their promises over your life even
(09:49):
right now, and hellas conspiring against the church. Jesus said
he wants a triumphant church, one that's of faith, and
Hell right now is trying to come against just like,
just like they were inspired to come against Jesus in
this moment, to ensure to try to prevent in every
(10:11):
natural means possible. Right, we see they're not moving by
the spirit right now, right you see that, and that
they don't believe that what Jesus said he was going
to do, that he will do, that he can do.
This is unbelief, right. Unbelief is the opposite of faith.
Turned to the next chapter, twenty eight. Now after the Sabbath,
(10:36):
as the first day of the week began to dawn,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to the tomb
and behold, there was a great just making sure you're
still awake, earthquake from an angel of the Lord descended
from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from
(10:58):
the door and sat on. His countenance was like lightning,
and his clothing as white as snow. And the guard
shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
I think they fainted.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
What do you think an angel appear, face shining full
of the glory of God. They said, oh, and they
fell out right Verse five. But the Angel answered and
said to the women, do not be afraid, for I
know that you seek Jesus, who was crucified. He is
(11:41):
not here, for he has risen. As he said, Come
and see the place where the Lord lay, and go
quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from
the dead. And indeed he is going before you into Gallow.
There you will see him. Behold, I have told you.
(12:04):
So they ran out quickly from the tomb with fear
and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples the word.
And as they went to tell the disciples, behold, Jesus
met them, saying, rejoice. So they came and held him
(12:25):
by the feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them,
do not be afraid. Go and tell my brethren to
go to Galilee, and there they will see me.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
What we need to see.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Here is that number one, the plots of man to
thwart the process of God failed. The Bible declares that
the weapon may form against you, but it shall not prosper.
They sealed the tomb as best they could, They came
against the plan of God as best they could, and
(13:07):
what happened Jesus rose. But because of the humanity of people,
and Jesus said, let me send one of my messengers
to roll the stone away, because they need to be
able to see with their eyes that what I have said,
I have done.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
I don't know where.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
You are today in your faith journey, if you're in
a place where you can believe without seeing, but that's
the sign of faith. But Jesus wanted it to be
forever recounted in history that he was not there. I
don't think he needed to have the stone rolled away
(13:55):
to be risen. I don't know about you, but everybody
needs what evidence, and that's what people are looking for
us to have evidence of the life of Christ. There
is in savior that we claim evidence that the stone
(14:16):
has been rolled away, and that the old man, the
carnal man that was there, that was bound, that was
a liar, that was a thief, that was a drunk
that's left around whatever it is that sin that we did,
that the resurrection life of God has come, and that
the stone has been rolled away evidence, and so that's
(14:45):
what caused things to shift for the disciples. See, we
read the Bible and we already know the story, but
you have to remember the story is unfolding to them.
So Jesus had been declaring, I am the Way, I am,
I am the Truth, I am the Life. No man
comes to the Father except through me. And so now
(15:10):
he really is the way because he conquered death, hell,
and the grave. And not only did he have authority
over the demonic realm when he walked the earth as
a man. Now the name at the name of Jesus,
every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that
(15:34):
he is Lord. Because he died and was resurrected on
the third day, and the angels proclaimed, the tomb is empty.
The stone has been rolled away. Declare the message to
those who follow me and believe. Do you believe today,
(16:02):
because now years later down the annals of time, it
has a greater weight for us today that the tomb
is still empty. See remember in Matthew chapter twenty seven.
They wanted to prove that Jesus was a liar. They
(16:29):
wanted the disciples to be the ones that really had
his body. It would have been great if they could
have found the bones who watch his cold case in here.
And so they wanted to prove that, even if time
(16:49):
had passed, that it wasn't the power of God that
had resurrected our savior. They wanted to find some deceit,
some shadow of turning in his case character. But they
never found it. And so today is a day to
put your faith in the one who is Lord, the
(17:17):
one who was sent here for our redemption. Isaiah fifty three.
Let's go there, because this is what they wanted to disprove.
They wanted to disprove prophecy that had come through prophets
over centuries of time. They wanted to disprove that this
(17:41):
was in fact the man, the man from Galilee, was
actually the son of God. Go to verse three in
Isaiah fifty three. He is despised and rejected by man,
a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. And we hid,
(18:05):
as it were, our faces from him, as we despised him,
and we did not esteem him. Surely he has borne
our griefs and carried our sorrows.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Yet we esteemed, we esteemed.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Him stricken smitten by God and afflicted. But he was
wounded for our transgressions. That's a fancy word for sin.
He was bruised for our iniquities, the misshapenness of our character,
the things that are broken, that we want to do right,
(18:40):
but we can't do right, and we repeat cycles and
we can't break feet free. He was bruised for that,
and that the chastisement of our peace was upon him,
And by his stripes we were healed. All we like sheep,
have gone astray, We have turned everyone to his own way,
(19:04):
and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us.
All he was oppressed and afflicted, yet he opened his mouth.
He opened not his mouth. He was led as a
lamb to the slaughter, as and as a sheep before
its shearers is silence. So he opened not his mouth.
(19:29):
Jesus went to the cross willingly for our sin, all
of it, everyone collectively, worldwide, every culture group, every every person, yellow, black, white, red.
He went to the cross for every country, every ethnicity,
(19:51):
every dialect, the people of the world. Jesus went to
the cross for us, for ours, for our iniquity.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
And he hung and he died.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
And so that is really what the pharisees, those that
wanted the political power, the religious right to be right,
come on somebody. They were operating, and what we would
call religious spirit then wants to quench the anointing that
wants to quench and come against the things of God.
(20:32):
And so it's important for us to recognize where we stand.
Do we stand as those that oppose and want to
say that the things of God are not true? Or
do we stand in faith on the side with the
disciples who walk in faith and know that the power
that is resident in us is because the stone was
(20:57):
rolled away, we got to choose a sign. We can
come to Easter service and you know, do your Easter
egg hunts and hang with the family. I'm definitely doing
that after service too. But the point is that if
we miss the power of God that's demonstrated to us
(21:21):
in this moment, we missed the whole point. It becomes
just another day. And if we're in Christ, if we're
saved today and we know that when we close our
eyes tonight, if tonight we're are last night, we know
where we're going. If we are those, we do not
(21:42):
need to miss what happened on that day. Power was
released to us. The commission came to us and forever
because of the shed blood of Jesus, the curse of
sin and death was broken. See in Genesis when Adam
(22:06):
and Eve sin and they ate the fruit sin, shame,
death entered the world. Work, the sweat of our brow,
the labor that we go through, the weight and the
pressures of life that so easily come upon us because
of the God of this world that entered. It was
(22:27):
never supposed to be that way. It was never intended.
God did not create this earth and intend for us
to struggle. And yet because of sin, it's present at
every turn. But when the blood of Jesus flowed on
Calvary that day, my Bible says that the earth shook,
(22:51):
that there was a mighty power that was released, that
even those that were dead in faith came out of
the grave and began to testify of the power of God.
And so if we miss today that the sin, that
the weight of sin has been canceled, that the curse
of death has been broken, and that there's.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Power in this earth.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Now for those who believe we miss it, I told
you in every story there's drama, there's good drama. Right,
So the question is. Do we believe him? Will we
believe what he said? Because the Angel the Angel came
(23:40):
and told the sisters that he has risen just like
he said.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Will we judge him faithful in this time? Will we
see his plan?
Speaker 2 (23:53):
And no matter how crazy it seems for our life,
will we trust him that because the stone has been
rolled away, that no longer do we have to doubt him.
There's a new confidence and a boldness that should come
upon us as his children in this time, to know
(24:14):
that he is who he said, and he will do
what he said he will do. The Bible says that
Jesus came to seek and to save those that were lost,
and so he was sent, and he sent the apostles
first to the House of Israel, the covenant old sons
(24:36):
of Abraham, and many of them, like the Pharisees, did
not receive him. And so when he ascended, he commissioned
the disciples to go into all the earth and preach
the Gospel. And that's how we got in right, that's
how the Gentile Church was and grafted in. But now
it's important that we recognize on a day life today,
(25:01):
when it's the right thing to do to come to Church,
that the old covenant has been rolled away with the stone,
and that there's a new covenant, and that the Lord
wants our heart, and that it's not about a circumcision
of flesh. It's about a circumcision of the heart, a
heart condition that's turned towards God, a heart that's turned
(25:24):
in faithfulness to Him, and that if we want access
to that power, we have to be willing to let
him have our heart.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Our whole heart.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Come on, the veil was rent into when he gave
up his last breath on the cross. The veil was
torn into. So it's Heaven's answer and Heaven's response that
I don't want any separation between me and my children.
I welcome you into my presence because now the blood
(25:59):
of Jesus has atoned for your sin, past, present, and future.
So if we're willing to come to him, if we're
willing to repent and put everything out there, he's willing
to accept us and to see us through the blood
(26:20):
of his son Jesus.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
This is the best story.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Being born of the spirit means, being born again means
that you have the ability to overcome the gods of
this world, not only for life eternal a heavenly home,
(26:54):
but life in the spirit now, abundance now, an ability
to process for now. So it's so important that we really,
we really accept the message that's being said. Right, It's
so easy to be hype and emotional.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
And miss it.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Because it's not about the volume and it's not about
the goosebumps. It's about the authority of God. It's about
the authority that he established when he went to Calvary
and he said it is finished. What was finished his
(27:41):
assignment to fulfill all prophecy, to overcome every religious and
demonic spirit that would say that God is not faithful,
that he's not with his people, that he's not going
to deliver like he said, that he's not going to heal,
that he's not that he doesn't have the capacity to
(28:01):
heal your marriage or to cause your son to come home.
It is finished, and it is still finished. So even
as the band comes now because we're gonna pray, some
(28:29):
of our time was taken, but I'm still gonna work
on landing this plane. So I'm just gonna tell whoever's
in charge, don't come for me. They put me up late.
But I want to pray with you today that you
(28:49):
come into and understanding of what the stone being rolled
away means for you, April said, seventeenth, twenty twenty two.
Today our church is forty three years old, and from
(29:15):
the first day till this day, we are meant to
be a house of hope and healing and restoration and
a city of refuge.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
And it's only.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Possible because of the power of God. So right where
you are, I want you to bow your head in
the presence of God. He's been speaking to us since
the very beginning of the service, and I believe that
(29:50):
today is a day of decision for many, many of
us to come in to the kingdom. Even as I
was sharing with you my heart, today's the day of
decision for you and for you to choose whose side
you're on in this spiritual battle that still rages on
(30:12):
because the God of this world still wants souls, and
until the day that Jesus returns, that battle rages. But
there's been given an answer, and that answer is Jesus.
So the question is what you say yes to Him
today to be a savior and lord of your life.
(30:34):
If you've never made that commitment, now is the time
for you to do that. For you to say yes
to him,
