Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hi, everyone.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
This is Michelle Jackson, lead pastor of Hope Christian Church,
and this is today on the Hope Connection.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Have you ever been in a situation that troubling thoughts
kept coming to you in the night season or when
you're getting ready to do something really fun, some image
that you thought had disappeared from your mind flashes before you.
(00:31):
I could go on and talk about little hints that
come to us that something in my world has not
been dealt with, some trauma has not been addressed. So
why are we going to be talking about this? We're
ultimately going to look for joy and peace. We ultimately
(00:55):
are going to look for those who are going to
be used of God to change the next generation. How
many think that there needs of your restoration of families
and communities in America? How many believe that.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Stay tuned for more with Bishopary as he begins his
powerful series called Unschained Step into Freedom from the things
that hold you down. But before we get started, the
Hope Connection will continue to use what God gave Bishopary
to help you grow in Christ. Our mission has not changed.
Our methods may look different, our anointing and conviction continue
(01:37):
as we preach and teach the word of God. Thank
you for listening today, and we look forward to hearing
how this broadcast has blessed you. Now Here is Bishop
Ary from his series Unchained with today's message to comfort
all that mourn.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
In order to make the most out of what we
are going to be talking about, I think that you
are going to need to reach out and buy a book.
And I was going to make it easy on you
and buy a bunch of books. But what we're going
(02:14):
to do is I'm going to give you a title
here a little bit later on, and I want to
begin by reading a familiar portion of scripture and then
just breaking it down to you. And I believe God's
going to speak to us today. Would you send your feet,
please stand it out of the word if you want
(02:39):
to read along in your own scripture. We're going to
look at Isaiah sixty one one through four. Isaiah sixty
one one through four. I'm reading from the King James
version and it reads as follows. The spirit of the
(03:00):
Lord is upon me because the Lord hath anointed me
to preach good tidings unto the meek. He has sent
me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty
to the captives, and the opening of the prison to
(03:21):
them that are bound to proclaim the acceptable year of
the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God.
To comfort all that mourn. The key is all of
this so far these first two verses is to come
(03:43):
down to comfort all that mourn. Can you repeat that
with me? To comfort all that mourn. So the spirit
of the Lord is upon me for really healing deliverance.
But the ultimate goal is to comfort all that moren
you got it. Let's go on two more versus to
(04:05):
appointed to them that mourn in Zion, to give unto
them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that
or so that in order that that they might be
(04:25):
called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that
he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes.
They shall rise or raise up the former desolations, and
they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
(04:55):
May the Lord of the blessing to the reading of
his word, you may be seen now today. Essentially, we
are going to talk about a topic that I think
is going to hit each one of us and we're
going to lay some foundations of faith. And the title
(05:17):
of our series is going to be simply unchained. Unchained.
Turn to your neighbor and tell them you need to
be unchained. Turn to the other age where and say
you need to be unchained. Now many of you all
(05:37):
don't believe this yet, but we will look at this
in a moment. Have you ever walked into a room
and as soon as you got there, you notice someone
who was in that room, Maybe it was a dad
office or a law office, or even a church or
maybe a family gathering, And as soon as you saw them,
(05:59):
something on the inside of you went and you felt
compelled to go the other way. Have you ever been
in the situation that troubling thoughts kept coming to you
in the night season, or when you're getting ready to
do something really fun, some image that you thought had
(06:22):
disappeared from your mind flashes before you. I could go
on and talk about little hints that come to us
that something in my world has not been dealt with,
some trauma has not been addressed. So why are we
(06:43):
going to be talking about this. We're ultimately going to
look for joy and peace we ultimately are going to
look for those who are going to be used of
God to change the next generation. How many think that
there needs to be a restoration of families and communities
(07:09):
in America? How many believe that. How many believe that
the church isn't what it used to be, and even
the church needs to be restored. Right, But verse four
says something powerful. It says, and they shall build the
(07:30):
old waste, they shall raise up the former desolations. In
other words, where there has been historic breakdown in our communities,
our culture, our world. The they that's being talked about
here are going to be used by God to transform
(07:52):
whole dimensions of the world and society.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Now.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Problem on Independence Day, we think it's the orcy that's
going to change the world. They're arguing whether we're going
to be socialistic or capitalistic, and they're starting off in
a humanistic mindset. Somebody understand what I'm saying. It's only
the power of the Cross and the resurrects and power
(08:17):
of Jesus transforming hearts that begins the transformation we need.
All right, but this day, look at verse four in
your Bible, and they shall build the old waste, They
shall raise up the former desolations. Even stuff that's been
messed up for generations can be cured, and they shall
(08:40):
repair the ways cities. How many know right now Capital
Heights needs a little bit of help. How many of
the belts will probably get use a little help around
the edges. They're getting ready to move in some beautiful
houses down the road from us. But if they don't
deal with some of the stuff that messed up right
(09:01):
now around where we live, it can become a waste
place you with. I mean, there are all these zones
that have been termed opportunity zones by the administration and
their tax breaks and all kinds of things that would
entice investors to come in. And these natural solutions are
(09:23):
going to help unless there isn't a change of heart.
How many know we have gentrified parts of DC and
the worst parts of DC. When they move the people
to the new places, they carry their old addictions, they
carry their old brokenness. Come on, they reproduce the fracture
(09:47):
that's on the inside of them. But God is saying
to us in this passage, and remember Jesus stood up
in his inauguration of his men, and he said from
Isaiah sixty one. The spirit of the Lord is upon
me because he has anointed me to preach good tidings
(10:12):
unto the meet. He has sent me to bind up
the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and
the opening of the prison to them that are bound,
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the
day of vengeance of our God, the day of vengeance.
My shot, vengeance? Do they have vengeance? Come on, shot vengeance?
(10:35):
Do they have vengeance? Come on? You can do better
than that shot vengeance. Vengeance means warfare, God says, I'm
getting ready to perform a war. I'm going to orchestrate
a military strike against the things that bind you and
keep you, that have been hurt and wounded. And on
the other side of this thing, the folks who come
(10:57):
out of bondage are going to be inducted into my military,
and they're going to become an army that's going to
change and restore and heal manifest glory so that my
name might be known around the earth. Go ahead, give
him a clop off for the faith. Oh, I'm going
(11:22):
to undo the wisdom of the wise. I'm going to
outsmart the smartest of the people. I'm going to take
the last lease and the loss and move them to
a new dimension. I God am going to do something
unheard of in your generations and the building blocks I'm
starting with or traumatize people. Wow, it's a crazy thought,
(11:44):
isn't it for three? To appointed them that mourn in
Zion more in Zion. They're hurt, they're wounded, they may
have all kinds of issues, but they're in Zion. Can't
(12:04):
work with folk unless they're in Zion. I'm going to
do something with those who are in Zion and from
Zion's power and Zion's authority. I'm going to give them
beauty for ashes. Where there is devastation and they thought
they would be in grieving for the lifetime, I'm going
(12:26):
to give them beauty frashes. I'm going to exchange something
for them. Amen. But they got to be meet, They
got to be meet, They got to be meet. What's meekness?
Meekness is strength under power. Meekness is submitted strength. It's
taking our willpower and saying I will to go God's way.
(12:47):
I'm not just going after the world's priorities. Y'all, y'all
hearing me at all this morning? To give the oil
of joy for morning. So if you're really free, there's
going to be a capacity for joy unspeakable and full
(13:11):
of glory. That means that every now and again, when
you're waking up in the morning for no particular reason,
the joy of the Lord's going to rise up, and
the joy of the Lord's going to be your strength,
and he's going to boo you up and lift you
up on eagle's wings. Hallelujah. Oh yeah. That's one of
(13:33):
the irresistible components of New Testament Christianity. And it goes
on to say, the garment of praise for the spirit
of heaviness or the spirit of defeat or the spirit
of lack. I'm going to give them beauty for ashes,
oil of joy for morning. Third, the garment of praise
(13:56):
for the Spirit of heaviness. You got those three components
that or so that they might be called trees or
oaks of righteousness. In other words, they're going to be
seen as pillars of righteousness, but it's going to be beauty, joy,
(14:19):
and praise. That's a part of transforming them from the
inside out. Your problem is not your situation. Your problem
is your attitude. The problem is not your situation. Your
problem is your revelation. The problem is not your circumstances.
The problem is that you haven't seen enough of Jesus yet.
(14:40):
The problem is not what has happened to you, is
what you refuse to let God do for you. If
you believe that, give the Lord a clap, offer praise,
that they might be called trees of righteousness, planting of
(15:00):
the Lord. Those who are planted, position established, appointed, anointed,
sent from heaven to vanquish hell, sent from heaven on
an assignment to transform the old waste places, the former desolations,
(15:21):
the cities that need to be repaired, and the desolations
of many generations. Are you there so there's a healing.
We're going to talk about this in a moment that
needs to happen for us. I'm going to ask my
friends to come. Most of us have got two problems
(15:46):
in our life. And the two problems are this. You're
going to stand on this side, sir, and face that way,
beautiful two issues. If he's in FOROURD tells us to
give no place to the devil. This little towel is
(16:07):
the place. See. If I let the sun go down
on my wrath, I let aggravate it. Unforgiveness happened in
my marriage, my parenting, any relationship I have with anybody,
I writ out a space to the devil. He don't
(16:30):
even need to be able to lay down. All he
got to do is to be able to stand in a
top host, a place, a geography, in the spiritual realm
of your life. Every dimension of unforgiveness you harbor is
going to keep a place open for the devil to
(16:53):
stand in your world. Like I'm standing on this towel.
You gotta it. May seem like he goes away for
a minute, but back he comes. Look at me. He
seems like you've gotten over it, but back it comes.
Seems like you're getting through, but back it comes. So
(17:16):
there's another problem when Holy Spirit is trying to operate.
I was in there acting like the devil a minute ago.
Now I'm gonna act like the Holy Spirit, all right,
he said, okay, all right. So when Holy Spirit is
trying to come and free you and remove this space,
(17:40):
he's got to go around certain obstacles. See, some of
us have made vows or covenants, and we say stuff
like this, No man's ever going to do that to
me again. And that vow of independence might keep you
(18:00):
from being submitted to your own husband in your own
house and walking relationship because of the vow prevents you
from aligning with quick obedience to the word of God.
I did a vow that I dealt with a while ago.
It was a vow that after I was in the
(18:24):
eighth grade, I would never eat seafood again. My relatively
now Norfolk, Virginia area and Tidewater area, I think we
ate seafood because it was cheap accessible. They went out
and went crabbing, they caught fish. They ate three meals
(18:47):
everything except for breakfast, but all the major meaning meals
and snacks. Seafood was a part of it. They loved
some seafoods. And I thought, when I get big enough,
old enough to make my own choice, because what I'm
not going to choose seafood. So I made a vow
(19:07):
that would need it. And for many many years I
ate no seafood. And it took me real courage for
me to think about, well, some of seafoods fresh water,
not the bottom feeders. We won't go into that today.
They're actually very very healthy for you. Right, So my
(19:30):
journey to health, I took me a couple of weeks
to walk through the idea, I'm going to eat some seafood.
My threatening step was I had to try some salmon.
(19:50):
Had one brother calls it salmon, Give me a piece
of salmon. I thought to myself, you can't even talk right.
I don't know how to follow your example. That's just
me being silly. But anyway, eventually it didn't taste so bad.
I may have been preventing myself from something heavy because
(20:12):
I made a vow underdress that I would not do
a thing. And how many vows do we have that
are actually blocking Holy spirit out? They're not going to
treat me this way. A friend of mine called me up.
Was leaving a particular position and post, and they were
(20:36):
talking about the fact that as they were leaving, there
was this issue of will you do this for me?
Do that for me, help me with that, help me
with the other. And their attitude was, they're not going
to use me anymore. My paid time is getting ready
to be up and later for them. Talk to the hand,
(20:56):
Holly Nujah, I'll see you down the road. Are you
with me? And that attitude had to do with a
vow about not being taken advantage of Are you with
me on that? But my point to them was, there's
a principle in the Word of God that says, bless
your enemies and give and it will be given unto you.
(21:21):
You can sow a good activity that will reap benefits
or bring benefits to you of you following the idea.
