Speaker 2 (00:40):
Hey, everybody, Michelle Jockson here so excited that you're here today. Listen,
we get to share this time together to grow him here,
to grow higher and to go higher in the Word
of God. You know, I'm so excited because right now
there's does an open and open understanding that we need
the blissom of God on the higher level. And I
(01:03):
wanted to go back to the Book of James today
and talk about loyalty, loyalty to the Way of God,
loyalty to the Way of God. James Chapter one tells
us that if we need wisdom, we can ask the
Lord because he is generous and will give it to
(01:23):
us those that belong to him, and he won't rebut
us or chide us, or deride us, or make fun
of us or walk us for asking him for wisdom.
And that when we receive that wisdom, when we ask that,
we should be sure that our faith is in him.
Our faith is not in our ability, Our faith is
not in other voices. Our faith is not in our
(01:46):
relationship with him or our tenure with Ken, but in
him alone, his nature, his character, is his integrity right.
And that when he releases that to us, not to
waiver or to be tossed about, but having any divided
art before him, so that we can receive from him
(02:09):
because our trust is in him. And so I wanted
to talk today from the theme of loyalty because I
think right now in society we don't really have an
understanding of what loyalty really looks like, of what loyalty means,
or even what loyalty being faithful to the faith. So
(02:32):
loyalty means a quality of being loyal or having a
strong feeling of support or allegiance, faithfulness, fidelity, obedience, adherence,
a follower right. But also there's a trustworthiness constancy that
(02:53):
is in the heart of the loyal. And so I
want to encourage us today from this theme of being loyal,
because what the scriptures are saying is that those who
thrive walk in the wisdom of God. They may walk
in places that are unknown, they may walk on paths
that they haven't known before as they follow the Lord,
(03:16):
but that there's a faithful heart that continues to pursue
the Lord and pursue him. And because they pursue him,
they know what they need and they continue to develop endurance,
and they're perfected and complete in the Father. And so
loyalty is something that we need to cultivate. And I
(03:38):
believe that you know, as we abound with our sins,
we look at our daily devotion before the Lord, we
can see that we fall short of what loyalty looks like,
we fall short in obedience. But I'm grateful that when
we ask the Lord for wisdom, he tells us, hey,
I need you to live at a higher level and
(03:59):
need you will that hall of devotion to me, because
when you ask me for wisdom and your faith is
not in me, then you begin to halt between two opinions,
and you become unstable and so you know, as a leader,
as a woman in ministry, you know, and living out
the call of God that's upon And there are many
(04:22):
that I didn't even know that it was going to
be like this, but there were many that still didn't
believe in women in ministry, and even in being on
different platforms and podcasting and doing media ministry. If I'm
doing here, there are those who have come against me.
They've written con owns, they have been mean in the
(04:44):
name of Jesus based on their doctrinal understanding. But I've
had to have a loyalty or an obedience or faithfulness
towards the call of God upon my life and those
things that the Lord has been leading me to do,
which is teaching his word, equipping others, building others in
(05:04):
the faith of Jesus Christ through his word. And so
one of the things that I had to pin front
is the fact that not everyone's going to believe in
what you're doing. But the Lord didn't ask me to
have other people believe in me or the vision that
He's doing. Right, So many times we shrink back from
(05:26):
the promises, or we shrink back from the doors that
God is opening because we're looking for people around us,
to celebrate the plan of God for our lives, to
cheer the us into the place that God's assign it
for us. And I want us to be in a place.
And all of that's great, don't get me wrong. If
you've got supportive community in the call of Icon your life,
(05:47):
that's great. But what I'm saying is that when we
have two opinions that are valued, that we would follow
right the opinion of God, the wisdom of God, the
truth of what he says, and the doors that He's opening.
And then we have another voice, the voice of others,
the voice that the voice of others that may support
(06:08):
and may not support if we are not sure that
we are going to be following the wisdom of God.
This other voice can become a voice that staytan would
be used to bring distraction, to bring a lack of peace,
a lack of being able to rest in the plan
of God for our lives, and for us to be
(06:28):
listening to that voice. And James Chapter one is telling
us that when we labor, we become unstable. And actually
that other voice, whether it is a good person, a
Christian person, or whatever, if it's not in alignment with
the word of God. It becomes a voice that can undermine,
that has the capacity to undermine the purposes of God
(06:51):
if we don't contend to be loyal to be the
Word of God, loyal to the leading and the direction
of God. Come on, I don't know about you, but
I'm not out here to win a popularity contest. I'm
not here to have all the followers and all the
lights and all the things. I am here to fulfill
(07:12):
the plan of God for my life. And I will
encourage you that we got to be faithful to the
call of God upon our lives. We've got to be
faithful to the Word and to the standard of the Word.
And I believe that He is a rewarder and those
who diligently seek him. Our Father is a rewarder of
(07:36):
those who diligently faithfully see him. And I believe that
we will be prosperous and successful and all that we
put our hands to do as we work unto the Lord.
So loyalty is really really important because loyalty to the
Father will cause you to be able to work in
(07:58):
any environment, to work meaning to be successful, and to
be able to navigate life challenges and relationship from any
environment when we are faithful to the Lord and we
work as unto him and not unto me. I remember
in my first job, oh my gosh, when I first
(08:19):
got out of undergrappling and I was working.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
I happened to be working overseas at the time, and
just navigating for the first time out of undergrowth and
relationships and word life and colleagues.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
And all the things. And oh it was a mess.
I'm on the downity, guys. I was very imature in
terms of how I was handling things and and and
and so I was. I was mishandling situations and mishandling people.
And I looked back on different situations that happened in friendship,
that happened in the university, and and I get that
(08:58):
I was young and in the tour, and that I
was growing in my understanding that I needed the wisdom
of God. And so I worked for someone who, uh,
you know, had a certain reputation, who had a certain
who had certain challenges, who had a track record with
(09:20):
other employees. And so it was challenging for me because
I had to submit myself to the authorities were the
job of that at the time. Night So I had
to figure out how to labrogate. And I was not
walking as clothing with the Lord. Now, I was walking
at the level of understanding to walk with him as
(09:43):
we grow an intimacy and we were tore and the
things that God weren't able to understandings we didn't understand before.
But at twenty two years old, twenty twenty two, twenty
three years old, I was doing what I knew with
what and one one understanding that I had on this
honor that if I honored the authority in my life,
(10:04):
whether that was my supervisor, whether that was someone who
was delegated over me for a project, if I honored
them and I worked as unto the Lord, the Lord
would figure out the rest. That My job was just
to do my best and let the Lord handle the rest. Well,
one thing led to another, and promotions came, and different
(10:28):
project responsibilities shifted, even the supervisor that ideally shifted. And
so I want to encourage you right now where you
are in your life, to be loyal to the word
of God on the way the wisdom of God will
handle a situation. I remember, and so I did well
(10:52):
in that job, even though I had some challenges and
friendships and stuff, living overseeing them, things like that. But
I remember coming back to the States and getting started
back and working, and the Lord wanted to deal with
some areas and friendship and relations to them my life
and out remember the Holy share saying any runs on
im like do you really think I'm going to honor
(11:15):
honor this area of your life when you're doing these
things or handling people these ways. And it was such
a forceful check by the Holy Spirit. And one I'm
trying to share with you is that we have to
be loyal to God's way of handling things so that
we bring stability and the wisdom of God to every
(11:37):
area of our life. Every issue that we space can't
always be somebody who else's issue. We've got to be
willing to say, Father, where do I grow up? Where
do I needthing mature? Where do I need to be flexible?
Where do I need to take in the wisdom of God?
And when we do that, the Bible declares that we
(11:58):
then are able to be enriched in every aspect of
our laws. And we are exciting because the Lord blesses
those who endure testing and temptation and they receive a
crown of laws. So let's go over to Proverbs today.
Because Proverbs, if you are in need of the wisdom
(12:22):
of God for daily living, I would encourage you take
a month. They're thirty days, or thirty one days. In
a month they're thirty one Proverbs. You can read a
proverb a day and walk in the wisdom and the
revelation you receive from the Proverbs each and every day.
There were a couple of years when I was working
(12:43):
in the marketplace where I would just read the Proverbs.
I would read a proverb, I would let the Holy
Spirit my high life versus to me every day, and
then I would do my best to walk in the
wisdom that was unfolded to me, that was uncovered to me.
And I have learned that it is and then changeous
(13:07):
for the believer to walk in the wisdom of God.
It gives us sure putting. So let's go over to
a couple of verses that aligned with this theme of
loyalty that I am sharing with you today.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Go over to Proverbs chapter twenty, and we're gonna look
at Proverbs chapter twenty versus twenty three and twenty four.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
It reads the Lord detests double standards, but he is
not pleased by dishonest scales. The Lord directs our steps,
so why try to understand everything along the way? Verse
twenty five. Don't trap yourself by making a rash promise
(13:55):
to God only later counts in the cost. So what
are these verses saying. These verses are saying that the
Lord honors integrity, He honors integrity, and he honors when
we are willing to be fair in our estimation and
measuring of things. And so I think it's important for
(14:18):
us to remember that because so many times when we're
looking at situations with other people were quick to look
at where they fall short, but we're not quick to
hold the mirror of God's word to our own faith
and to take evaluation of how we handled things. And
(14:38):
then verse twenty four, the Lord directs our steps, So
why todd understand everything along the wad? We try to
leave a knowledge, We try to lead by what we see.
But the just shall live BYuT of faith, and the
just shall live according to their belief and their trust
and their fidelity and the Lord. So loyalty to the
(15:01):
ways of dark also means them we're obedient to move
before we understand everything, before we have a handle on everything.
We don't have to see the whole picture. But if
the Lord is asking us to do something, then we'll
do it. So I remember growing up and my parents
(15:23):
were powers, and I remember growing up with my mother
teaching us the Word and teaching us the local principles,
and she used to tell us that we needed to
obey her quickly, and that she was God's representative in
our lives. And I think that a lot of which
I'm wordy, a lot of what I'm warned about. He
(15:46):
buys faith and not by sight and something. And my
mother qualitivated in us from an early age because she
would tell us, you need to be quick to obey.
You don't have to understand why I'm asking you to
do what I'm asking you, just need to hear my
voice and do it because I'm your mother and I'm
not leading you in a direction that's going to cause
(16:07):
harm to come to you. I'll love you, I'm raising
you up, I'm nurturing you, I'm cultivating your life, and
i am putting skills in you to be successful in
the future. Well, how much more the Father God right,
how much war our father and Huden wants us to
be able to understand that his heart is for us
(16:29):
and that he wants to call forth the best in us.
And so it's important that we walk in the wisdom
of God even in those places where we don't understand.
So it also says here in verse twenty five, don't
drive yourself and making a promise to God only lay
there counting the cost. In an emotional moment, we can
(16:51):
make a decision and say, yes, I'm going to respond
to that. I'm going to make this promise to the Lord.
And if we wish, we're not careful to count the
cross what that promise means. We will not be able
to be loyal or faithful to that because some christ
will require ourselves or we'll try to give more, and
(17:11):
then we're actually the hold to get. Did you know
that the Lord will not tempt us more than we
can handle, nor will he require more of us? And
to seeing them them, we're able to actually be obedient
and carry out. And so that's a good place to say, oh,
my goodness, an because sometimes we think that obedience the
(17:34):
sacrifices like the Lord's asking of us, while they are
a lot, they are things that we can do. There
are things that we are positioned to be successful in doing,
and they will bring us into the hope and expected
d and the prosperous place and success that the Father has.
So I want to pray with you today because I
(17:54):
believe that this is a time for us to be
loyal people of God, loyal to the Word, loyal to
the ways of God, loyal to the standards of the scriptures.
And this is what's going to set us apart. This
is how people are gonna know it by the love
that we have for gotten and with one another. So,
(18:15):
fathering the name of thank you today for everyone under
the sound of my voice. I thank you Lord that
you're causing us to be a people of uncommon wisdom,
as if you are loyal, be following you. I thank
you Father that we are learning how to undividing are
when it comes to following the leading you're leading, your godlins.
(18:35):
I thank you Word that we're going to have fidelity
on another level. I thank the Lord that you're helping
us raise the bar and our permitment and our firmness
to walk with you. And we bless your holy name
that you're causing us to be to burn bright and
to burn brighter for you We give you, Golord for
all these things, and our lives belong to you in Jesus' name. Amen,
(19:02):
thank you for listening.
