Speaker 1 (00:07):
Welcome to life in the overflow. My name is Michelle Jackson.
I serve as senior pastor at Whole Christian Church in Beltsville, Maryland.
I'm excited that you're here listening.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Today.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
We're gathering all women to hear what the Lord is
saying to us. John ten ten states that the enemy
comes to steal, to kill, to sour, and to devour,
But Jesus came to give us life, the zoe life
of God in abundance, in an overflowing measure. There's a
dimension of supernatural life that God has called us to
walk in.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
As women.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
We fill so many roles in society as wives, as mothers,
as business leaders, as creatives, as stay at home moms.
The Lord has called us to walk on a level
of influence and grace because of the life of God
that is within us. So listen as I share my
heart biblical truths and guide us through so that we
can discover a deeper love for Jesus and a grace
for our families, for our communities that were called to
(00:58):
love and serve the assignments that we're in, and fresh
connections to Kingdom.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Thinking women.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
I'm excited that you're here. This is Life in the Overflow.
Hey everyone, this is Michelle. I'm so glad that you're
with me today. This is Life in the Overflow podcast.
I had the pleasure of interviewing my friend Miriam Evans,
(01:26):
who is a revivalist, a preacher of the Gospel, a
mother of five, and a wife to her incredible ministry partner,
my brother and the Lord Tommy Evans. Together they are
igniting the fires of revival globally and they are missionaries
to the Body of Christ and the United States, hosting
revival meetings and preaching the Gospel and demonstrating the power
(01:48):
of the Gospel through miracles, salvations, deliverances, and the glory.
So I know you're going to be inspired by what
she had to share today, So take a listen to
what we had to talk about. So I am so
(02:13):
glad that you were here with me this afternoon. Miriam Evans.
It's so exciting to host you on Life in the
Overflow and just on the podcast because God is doing
just such a unique thing through your ministry with stepping
out in faith, out of the local church to be
(02:34):
missionaries to the United States as revivalists, and just even
your mandate and assignment for that includes my region, right,
So I just feel that kinship, that that kinship and
the spirit over what we're called to run with in
this season.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
So welcome.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Would you just introduce yourself and let everybody know who
you are and all that.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Absolutely, I'm truly honored to be on I love you
just even just as a friend and a sister, and
this is just truly a God set up. But yes,
what you said is correct. I am Miriam Evans, and
my ministry partner in crime, if I could say, is
my husband, Tommy Evans. We have five children. We live
(03:22):
in the DFW Texas area, and we have been sent
for sure from our local home church, Trinity Church in
Cedar Hill. We have been sent as missionaries to America
and we have been seeing the fires of revival ignited
in powerful ways, including your region, the I ninety five region. Absolutely,
(03:46):
it has been incredible to see. Literally, I almost feel
like Philip in the Bible when he gets dreams and
God begins to highlight regions and where to go with
the Gospel. And here lately, like I want to say,
in the past year and even more so, it's upticking again.
Just dreams of where revival is happening or where it's
(04:07):
about to hit. Almost like I've been having like these,
you know, dreams, reoccurring dreams of a tsunami wave, and
I'm warning people about a tsunami wave coming, and I
hear people even translating what my warning is in different languages,
(04:27):
because I believe that the Holy Spirit is giving us
a warning, and he's warning every tribe, every tongue, every
nation that the glory of Jesus is going to be
manifested across the earth. And so that's what my husband,
my family, and I we've been doing, is that we're
going to these places that God is highlighting saying, get ready,
(04:49):
get ready, the tsunami wave of God's glory is coming.
Position yourselves and be ready for the presence of the
Lord and for a harvest that's coming in for Jesus.
And yes, I ninety five is one of those regions
that God said would be like the land of the
rising Sun, so son that the glory of the Lord
would be seen from coast to coast. So that's what
(05:11):
we're doing. We're we're hitting these regions, we're hitting these cities,
and even when we are in town, we're making room
just to host him when we're here in the Dallas
Sport Worth area.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Now that's exciting because we're seeing a revival galvanize, not
just as a word and what I love and I'm
probably gonna butcher it. But for those that are listening
to the podcast, you can go back and listen to
Pastor Kim Owens. But I believe the definition of revival
is creating a sustained habitation of the presence of God.
(05:43):
That's really what revival is, a sustained habitation of the
presence of God.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
I'm stealing her definition.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Right because I think that's what we're going for as
a nation, that we would be a nation that sustains
the presence of God, not for an event, not for
an outing that has an ending date, but that this'll
be something we could steward in this generation.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
You know, yeah, I totally agree with you. I think
that wine skin that you just mentioned, that mindset is
the wine skin that will hold the new wine that
Jesus is pouring out by his spirit. And you and
I both have an appreciation for revival history, and I
(06:29):
know that you can agree with me that when we
begin to study past moves of God revivals, even back
to Acts two, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost,
all the way up to the eighth century of the
First Church, we found that there was a level of thinking.
There was a particular mindset, a wine skin, if you will,
(06:50):
that people had concerning revival, and it was about the sustainability.
It was about seeing a manifestation in a full filment
of the prophet Isaiah when he began to give messianic
prophecies of Jesus, and he said to his kingdom, to
his government, there will be no end. And I believe
(07:11):
that that is the pattern for revival, just as you said,
just as we have you know, echoed the voice of
revival that Kim owens, is that there is not an
end date. There should not be an expectation of an
expiration date for revival. But this should manifest from glory
to glory to glory, and from generation to generation to generation.
(07:35):
And so I believe that God is preparing us in
this hour to create a mindset. You know, Romans twelve
two says that we are transformed by the renewing of
our mind. The Holy Spirit is helping to renew our
minds concerning revival, so that we don't spill the wine,
that we don't waste anything in the words of Jesus,
(07:56):
so that we can continue to see revival transfer form
and be sustained throughout generations to generations. So I'm with
you one hundred percent. I believe that that's one of
the ways that God is preparing us for the wave
of glory that we're going to see, so that it
can be sustainable to the second, third, fourth generations until
the returning of Jesus.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
I heard this interesting teaching a while ago about wine
skins and how they were originally made out of leather,
and then it happened to see on the History Channel
seats for a custom car be made out of leather, right,
Italian leather. And the beautiful thing about leather is that
it's pliable, it's supple, but it has to be moisturized.
(08:38):
And one of the things with the wine skins was
that it had to be doused in water so that
it would revive and that it could be stretched. But
like leather, has a memory, so whatever form it had,
it has to be massaged and manipulated and reformed again
so that it can hold the new structure. And I
(08:59):
feel like that's what Jesus was saying, like the new
wine requires a new vessel, and we have to be
willing to be massaged, oiled down, watered down right and
refashioned into a new vessel so that we contained the
new wine. And it was it was amazing because they
(09:20):
dyed the leather different colors and they showed the process
of by which they spread that color and then sew
it together and fashion it, and it's a whole process.
And so I think, like we see those verses and
we don't see the process because that's not We're not craftsmen, right,
we work in technology, blockchain, you know, uh, that's more
(09:43):
of our parlance, right. But Jesus was using like an
old world example to tell us the process of preparation,
of maturing, of refashioning of what was going to be
necessary to contain his glory.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
You wrote an enc.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Credible book which I love, Glory Miracles, creating atmospheres for
the power of God to flow.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
BAM.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
I happened to get it when we were together at
Cindy Jacob's Global Prophetic semn last year, and I was just.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
First of all when I picked it up to read it.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
There was just such a presence of God on the
book that was uncommon that I hadn't experienced before. But secondly,
I was really impressed about your journey as a glory
carrier as a young mom and then wife and coming
into the ministry, and just the deliverance that God.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Birthed you out of to carry his glory.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Can you share a little bit of your story and
testimony with the Ladies' Day?
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Absolutely? Wow. I tell you that I had to add
that in my book because that was the journey where
I found Jesus, where I found his presence was when
I was absolutely I was a young girl seventeen, finding
out I'm going to be a mom, and at the
crossroads of a decision between literally life or death. And
(11:14):
I remember going to bed just so distraught, confused, scared,
not knowing what to do, and I went into this
dream open vision. Really, I you know, explained this in
the book. I laid down and I woke up and
I was not in my room anymore. I was in
(11:35):
a clinic of sorts, and I was in a hospital bed,
and I could see that I was hemorrhaging and I
was losing blood. And you know, this might be a
trigger warning want of warm people that might be listening.
But there was, like, you know, there was blood everywhere.
I was losing blood. I could feel myself slipping away
and dying. And I remember in this vision or this encounter,
(11:59):
if you will, I was like, I'm dying. Not only
is the life of my child leaving. I knew in
this encounter that I was getting an abortion because prior
to this encounter, I was at the crossroads of life
and death. Literally was I going to choose life or
was I going to choose death for my child? And
I had had many friends, I mean, that's just how
(12:21):
I was an athlete. I had a college scholarship for volleyball,
and so many different aspirations and things that I had
worked for. And unfortunately, that was the advice that I
had been given, like with coaches and different people, like
this is what you do to take care of the
mess that you're in is just you know, you get
an abortion, That's it, no question. And so I had
(12:42):
had several friends who had had an abortion, and so
here I am making the same decision or thinking about
making the same decision. And so I went to bed
with the plan of Okay, early next week, Monday morning,
I need to make that phone call. I need to
make that appointment. And I had actually called. I didn't
(13:04):
I can't remember if I put this in the book
or not, but I had actually called the week before
to make an appointment. And when they begin to talk
to me very nonchalantly, like, oh, well, how many weeks
are you? And I was like, I'm not really sure,
but you know, we talked about it on the phone
to try to pinpoint. Okay, well if you're this amount
of weeks, it's this much money, this amount of week,
(13:25):
this much money. And they just were very like casual,
and I remember feeling so sick to my stomach. I
didn't even finish the conversation. I just hung up on
the woman on the phone, like I just hung up.
I freaked out. I hung up the phone. I was like,
what am I doing? What's going on? And I believe
this conviction came over me, just the fear of the
Lord came over me so fast forward to this vision
(13:48):
that I had, I was hemorrhaging. I my eyes were
opened and I was able to see around the room,
and I saw many demonic spirits like I saw demons
like filling the room. There was a demon at the
foot of my bed waiting for the child to exit
out of my body. And then there was like demons
everywhere waiting to escort me right to Hell. Like I
(14:09):
knew it, I could feel it, and I thought, I'm dying.
What am I gonna do? Dear God help me. I
remember thinking that in my mind. And I grew up
in a Baptist church. I received Jesus as my Lord
and Savior is eight years old, but I had walked
away from the Lord, and here I was in my teens,
(14:30):
not walking with Jesus. And I just remember thinking, oh God,
I need help. And as soon as I thought that,
there was a man that opened. First I didn't know
it was a man, but somebody opened up the door
to this clinic. And I could not see the figure
of the person because the blinding light that shone through
(14:52):
it was brighter than the sun. It was so bright
I couldn't see. But all I could hear was the
voice of a man. And he swung the door open
with his hand, and he said, there mine speaking of
me and my child. And as soon as he said it,
his voice took care of the issue. I didn't even
It's like I could kind of see the outline of
(15:14):
a man, but it was so bright and his voice reverberated.
There was such life and energy in his voice. There
was such a tangibility in his voice. And as soon
as he said their mind, every demonic spirit completely obliterated.
It was like poof, like just they were nothing. They
(15:35):
were nothing in the room. And I remember seeing and knowing,
this is Jesus. And immediately I came up out of
the encounter. I was in my bed, but I was
just drenched with sweat like my It was like I
came out of another realm. And I was convinced God
(15:56):
took me into the future. I was convinced. I can't
fully explain it, but I was convinced that God had
taken me, had taken me out of my present tense,
and had fast forwarded me to a future time to
see what the plans of the enemy were. They were death,
(16:17):
they were destruction, not only for the life of my child,
but for me as well. And so all of a sudden,
my life mattered. My life mattered. I didn't want to die.
And then I had the conviction, well, if your life matters.
Doesn't the life of your child matter as well? And
I just began to weep and weep. And it was
a Saturday night, and I remember like, I'm getting up
(16:39):
and going to church tomorrow morning. And that was not
like a regular thought for me. So I got up
the next morning and I went and I met my
mom in the kitchen and I was like, Hi, good morning, Mom,
I'm going to church with you this morning. And she
looked at me really confused, like what's that about, you know,
like that's not like normal for you. And I was like, yeah,
I'm going to go to church. And long story short,
my parents used to be pastors of a Baptist church,
(17:02):
Spanish speaking Baptist church, but this was after their separation
and so they were no longer in ministry at the time,
and so my mom was the only one going to church.
And I was like, yeah, I'm I'm going to go
to church with you. And she had just you know,
kind of started going to an Assembly of God church, okay,
And so I had been attending the high school, but
(17:22):
we had not been attending the church. She just made
the decision to attend the church, which is Trinity Church today.
My home Church of Cedar Hill, And so I said, Mom,
I'm going with you to church, to the new church
that you want to go, like my school's church. She
was like, okay, that's really weird. She said, is everything
okay with you? And I was like, yeah, everything's fine.
(17:43):
And she said, well, I'm actually glad that you are
going to church with me this morning. She said, I
had a horrible dream about you last night and I
could barely sleep. And I was just like, oh, that's funny.
What was that dream? And she said, well, I had
a dream that I was, you know, at work. I
got a phone call that you were at the hospital
(18:04):
and that I needed to come quickly. And when I
came to the emergency room situation where you were, she said,
I looked through the window and I saw that they
were trying to resuscitate you. You had blood all over
your stomach and legs, and I knew that you were
losing blood and you were dying. And it was such
an awakening for me that Jesus truly was revealing himself
(18:30):
as my savior, that he wanted to literally save my
life from death and the ultimate separation from him forever.
And I went to church that morning, Pastor Jim Hennessy
was preaching, and you know, not sure if he even
remembers this. I wrote this in my book. But he
(18:53):
was about to go on with the regular part of service,
but he stopped and because he had gotten some prayer requests,
and he said he was taking prayer requests from people,
just like a spirit of intercession came on him, really,
and he was moved to pray, and he began to pray,
said I feel that there is someone who's contemplating abortion. Church.
(19:15):
We must gather together to pray for life. And again
the third time, Jesus just interceding on my behalf and
my child's behalf for life. And I remember that day.
I said, God, I don't know what I'm going to
do or how I'm going to do it, but I
choose you. I choose your way. And I heard an
(19:38):
internal audible voice and he said, if you do these things,
if you choose life, if you do it my way,
I promise I'll take care of everything. And he's done that. Today.
My daughter is twenty two years old. She is a
worship leader. She is a revivalist. She is leading breakthrough
(19:59):
all over a marriage specifically the state of California. She
just moved there at the end of twenty twenty two,
and God is using her and her team California will
be saved. They're all like my kids now, and they're
all the same age, in their twenties, and God is
using them to revive California. And my daughter's right in
the middle of it. And we've just gone as a
(20:21):
family from glory to glory, and bless God, we didn't
stop there. We had for more kids, so now we
have five, and God has blessed us with wonderful children.
And throughout motherhood and throughout making time for my children,
making time to tend to my family. God has made
(20:42):
time to tend to the details of my life and
in the midst of me loving my family well to
the best of my ability. With his help, He has
been so good to me to see that my desires
are being fulfilled. You know, I tell people having kids
doesn't sideline you. You know, I believe it's kind of
(21:04):
like a wine skin if you will. I believe that
God is doing revival and family units. It's not just
the man or the woman of God or you know,
we tell our kids all the time, it's not just
mom and dad running this ministry. But this is our family,
this is a family unit, and we're seeing God ignite
revival in our lives, but in our family first. And
(21:27):
as we've seen revival ignited in our family, then God
is like expanding us to take it out corporately and regionally.
And so I really believe that God is not only
calling people in this hour, He's calling families. He's calling
family units, parents that will encourage their children to preach
(21:49):
the gospel now, to lay hands on the sick now,
to cast out demons now, to raise the dead now.
And that's when we're going to see a generation trance.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
You know what's amazing your testimony because what we started
talking about was the sustained presence of God being the
signpost of revival. And that's what's happened in your personal lives,
That's what's happened in your family, and now that's what's
happening through your ministry. So I know you guys used
to do like your Saturday Night Awakening services at Trinity Church.
(22:24):
So how cool was it to be a pastor in
the church where you came to faith in a real
way Like that is so full circle?
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Oh, my goodness, you were not kidding it. So God.
I have said before that pastoring a and you'll appreciate this.
Pastoring a congregation is like becoming a parent. I feel
like had we gone straight into revivalist travel ministry first,
we would not have appreciated the Body of Christ as
(22:55):
much as we do now. I feel like pastoring is
like having kids. Like it's like kids, like you don't
think you're selfish, You don't think that you think of
yourself first until you have kids, and you're like WHOA,
Like I totally have to put these people above myself
and their needs. I feel like it's the same with pastoring,
Like I can't just go somewhere and blow it up
when I go preach, like I have kids to think
(23:18):
about that pastor when we go into churches or you know,
maybe it's an outdoor event, it's not in a church,
but we are dealing with local pastors. We think about
their children, We think about their houses, We think about
what clean up well they have to do after we leave,
and how can we serve the church and how can
(23:38):
we build it up? And how can we serve the
region in a way that builds up their house and
so it's been really great.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
It was.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
It was a phenomenal learning experience. One because our senior pastors,
Jim and Becky Hennessy gave us room to be who
we were. They didn't try to like change us. You know,
like they are really good parents. They're still really good parents.
They've sent us out, they like encourage us and cheer
us on, and you know, so it was really great
(24:10):
to be able to learn how to pastor under that
type of leadership so that we could you know, reproduce
in a way spiritual children, not under an environment of
control but freedom, which is how you know, kids advance
the kingdom. And so yeah, it's definitely full circle, definitely redemptive.
(24:33):
Just full of thanks for that season in our life
because I feel like it really prepared us on how
do we host people while we host the presence of
God in a healthy way. And one of our passions
is when we're preaching the gospel, specifically with power evangelism,
(24:53):
doing it in a pure way that builds up the
church and that actually will bring value to the churches
represented begin at a given meeting, like take this fire
back to your church now, you know, like serve your
church obey, be faithful, be pure, So that I feel
like that was really like such a great training that's
(25:15):
still training and teaching us.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
No, that's amazing because Ephesians four right where the scent
ones are sent to cook the saints for the work
of the ministry so that the body can come into
that place of maturity, so that we're able to reflect
the image of the Son of God. And so you know,
I think when we think about itinerant ministers, some of
it has become celebrity and the building of an own
(25:39):
of of our own kingdom. But I love what you're
saying about the purity and the simplicity of we're representing
the King of kings and we're building his kingdom and
his agenda has pre eminence, and that it's so key
that we are helping to build the body of And
(26:01):
there are local churches that are connected to everything we're doing.
I had the minute the privilege of ministering in another
church in another region, and just the Lord gave me instructions,
but I submitted them to the pastor. I got there
and I said, I feel like the Lord gave me
an assignment and this is what it is. Do you
(26:22):
how do you think that this would flow? Do you
think I should do this in your first service or
your second service?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Like how can I help you? Like and even processing
with them after like what do you feel like God
did for today?
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Like?
Speaker 1 (26:36):
How can I serve what you're doing? I think that
the more weird like that, we're gonna see the body
builds up in strength across regions, across what God wants
to do. Talk to this a little bit about what
power evangelism is. Like some people may be listening today
and they're like, power evangelism, What is that?
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Oh? I love it? It gets me fired up. I know
it is power evangelism. You know, I'm sure somebody would
have a better definition. But I really believe that power
evangelism is the demonstration of the Gospel. There's a presentation,
a proclamation of the gospel, and then there's a demonstration
of the Gospel. And the Apostle Paul talked about that
(27:23):
in many various different scriptures, and he said, I don't
only come to you with wise and persuasive words, but
I come to you with the demonstration of the Spirit's power.
And I believe that power evangelism gets the attention of
the lost power. Evangelism even gets the attention of the
church that Jesus is alive. You know, in many of
(27:45):
our services, really, I say with humility, in every service
that we've had, both in person and online, the Holy
Spirit comes to confirm the gospel, and he does it
with the demonstration of power. And that power looks like
the sick getting healed, demons being cast out of people,
(28:08):
dead things being raised back to life. It looks like
people coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through
the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It looks like people
being baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit and fire.
And so we're seeing a demonstration of the Holy Spirit's
power that confirms the gospel of Jesus, that he is alive,
(28:32):
he's here on earth, and that his Kingdom is advancing.
You know, that was the I believe power evangelism is
the message of Jesus. Jesus's primary message was the Gospel
of the Kingdom, and he instructed the disciples and the
apostles on how to evangelize. He told them, he sent
(28:52):
them out two by two, and he told them, he said,
when you enter into a city, you can find this
In Luke chapter nine Luke chapter ten. He gives them
a strategy of power evangelism, and he says, when you
go into a city, enter into that city, eat the
food that they serve you, praise God if you're a
footie like me. And he says, heal the sick and
tell them the Kingdom of God is at hand. It
(29:16):
has arrived. Jesus's primary message was the Gospel of the Kingdom.
He preached the Kingdom of God, and he demonstrated through
the power of the Holy Spirit that the Kingdom of
God had arrived. How did people know that the Kingdom
of God had arrived. Because he healed the sick, he
raised the dead, he cast out demons. Jesus even said
(29:40):
in the Bible and the Gospels, he says that if
I cast out a demon, you will know that the
Kingdom of God is here. That is one of the
ways that you will know that the finger of God
has come, that the presence in the hand of God
has invaded earth. Is because there will be power. And
that's why Jesus said an ax one eight. He said, wait, wait, wait,
(30:04):
don't move a muscle until you have been subdued by
the power of the Holy Spirit. In order to be
my witnesses. And so I believe that the Holy Spirit
is the evidence that Jesus is alive. So he comes
with power and he gets the attention of the loss,
he gets the attention of the church. You know, when
(30:25):
I was writing my book Glory Miracles, I remember kind
of being in this place where and you know, from
just writing where, I was just like, okay, Lord, what
is the next chapter to be about? What do you
want me to do? And I just remember putting my
head back, and I had this internal vision of Jesus
and I saw him. It was very quickly, the fraction
(30:47):
of a second. I saw him in a field of
wheat and it was white. I knew it was the harvest.
He had a sickle in his hand and he began
to like clear out the wheat. And he looked at
me and he said, miracles are going to be the
sick that brings in a harvest. And so I knew
that I was to write about power evangelism. I knew
I was to talk and to write a chapter on
(31:08):
power so that people would understand and be comfortable to
know that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are power tools.
If you will are still alive today. It is still
for the church today to bring in a harvest of
souls for Jesus so that he would get his great reward,
(31:30):
So that in a nutshell, I talked more about it
in my book, but that subject of power evangelism is
very dear to me. It's how I came into the Kingdom.
It's how I came back into the Kingdom. When I
walked away from the Lord. It was the power of
the Holy Spirit that got my attention absolutely.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
I mean, I think what you're saying is very compelling
because there's a whole generation of people who've been introduced
to church.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
They've been introduced to religion.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
But they've not been introduced to the power of God
or the Spirit of God.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
And we know that that's what draws the hearts of people.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
That's how the Father draws people to himself, is the
Holy Spirit. And so we've got to get better acquainted
with how to move and flow with the Holy Spirit.
And John Wimber, if you read any of his materials,
he was the bounder of the Vineyard Church, and so
like you read any of his materials, when he got saved,
(32:26):
he was like I thought I was coming to church
to do the stuff the Bible talked about, Like I
didn't realize we were.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
Coming to church to.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Then talk about what they did and never do what
they did in the Bible. And so in his story
he talks about how in all his books he talks
about how he would prayer walk when he would walk
neighborhoods and he would begin to pray over areas because
California had a lot of witchcraft in that time, and
so he'd pray over neighborhoods and he'd walk and pray,
(32:57):
and he'd evangelize, and he'd let the Holy Spirit lead
him and who to talk to and that kind of thing.
And so even as you're like walking in your neighborhood,
you can have divine appointments. As you're walking your dog,
or you're in the neighborhoods, you're pushing your stroller, maybe
you're trying to get your snap back together right. You
can ask the Lord, let me have an encounter. Let
(33:18):
me encounter someone that needs you that you can pray for.
I think so many times we are stirred when we're
together as the body, but we don't recognize that that's
stirring is to propel us to touch the people that
we're going to meet outside of Sunday, and we're looking
for ministry opportunities when it's just like easy amongst us.
(33:40):
But God has a heart that goes after the one
that's that's been abandoned, the one that's that's lost and interception.
Just like you were talking about where you were in
your teen years. God wants to apprehend the prodigals. He
wants to apprehend those who don't know him. He wants
to hotly pursue them. He wants to passionately pursue them
(34:01):
with his love. And the way he does that is
through us and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
So good, so good, Come on Jesus. Yeah, who's watching
and needs to be saved? Right now?
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Exactly right?
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Come home, Come home to Jesus. The presence of God, it.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Is, yes.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
So talk to us a little bit about more of
like progressing with stewarding the Holy Spirit and his presence
in your life.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Like what are things you have five children?
Speaker 1 (34:29):
I don't have children, So I think you can give
the mom's perspective of juggling times and priorities. You know,
Susannah Wesley, she would get under her apron and pray
in the Holy Spirit and people and her children knew
Mommy's with Jesus right now, right, So like, what are
those things that you've done in your life to be
(34:50):
a good steward or the presence of God? Because that's
what it is, sustained revival is a sustained presence of
God in our personal lives and corporately.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Absolutely, I love that story about Susannah Wesley because I
feel like it gives us all a great perspective, like
God is not a respector of persons, And isn't it
wonderful because of the finished work of the Cross that
we can now become a holy of holies wherever we are.
And that is something that has shifted my whole life
(35:25):
is to have the mindset that Emmanuel God is with
me right now. When I'm changing a diaper, when I'm
putting away laundry, it's almost like the you know, be
it under me according to my faith right And it's
like if I have a revelation that He's with me
and that he doesn't ever leave me, He's not going
(35:47):
to be interrupted by me changing a diaper. My mindset
might interrupt me my physical mind or maybe a spirit
of religion might say that it's not good enough, but
Romans eight said that we were freed from the lie
of religion that says we're never good enough, and so
(36:09):
that lie I had to overcome by believing the truth
that through Christ, I am enough. You haven't prayed enough.
That wasn't enough, you know, the lie of not being enough,
not clocking in, if you will, the amount of prayer
hours needed to reach God. I had to mute that.
I had to say God, like you gave me my kids,
(36:32):
they're a blessing, like you know. Psalms eight talks about
the mouth of babes, like you've perfected praise. Show me
how to do this. And specifically, I remember we were
living in California at the time, and we were living
in Writing, California, and I remember I had just had
my fourth child, and there was so much going on.
(36:55):
God was beginning to accelerate different things, and I was like, God,
I really just I'm losing sleep. You know, amen to
the moms with newborns, like I'm losing sleep. I you know,
can't see straight half the time. I just need a
cup of coffee. And it's like I heard the Lord say,
children bring the Kingdom. You know, Jesus talked many times
about how if we could enter in like a child,
(37:16):
and he began to show me through my children that
entering into the Kingdom as children is understanding that it
is easy to enter into the presence of God. Now,
our religious mindset, we have to fight through that. Hebrew says,
to fight to enter into the rest of God. So
sometimes we have to fight through the mindset that we're
not doing enough, and we have to say God, like,
(37:40):
right now, what I'm doing right now, I believe that
you're here with me. May your presence just dwell in
this place. There are a lot of times, Michelle, honestly
where I'm going through the house doing things and I
say that out loud where my kids can hear me.
I bring my kids into my secret place, like I
don't want them so nowhere else. Now are there times
(38:02):
where I need to get alone And that's healthy. Absolutely
a lot of times I do it when I'm working out,
like I really feel the Lord through movement. Some people
may I have another mom I'm thinking right now. Her
name is Emily. She's wonderful, She's an artist. She'll pull
away and she'll paint and she feels the Lord. That's
that's her secret place time. So I'm not saying that
(38:23):
we never want to have our alone time as moms,
because that is healthy and that's that's good. And the
way that you connect with God is going to be different,
you know, like painting, working out, going on a walk,
you know, there could be different ways. So I do
that alone, usually through working out or some type of movement.
(38:44):
But then when I can't always get alone, I will
bring my kids in and it looks like praying and
tongues out loud. For me, it looks like declarations God,
I thank you that your presence is here. May the
glory of the Lord fill our home. Like I'll just
like go for it where they can hear me, because
it's kind of like, well, this is the culture, this
(39:07):
is my house. This is what we do, is we
open up a place to host the Holy Spirit. And
the more that we do it, our kids get used
to it, and sometimes they're like okay, and on their own,
it's kind of funny. On their own, they kind of know,
oh okay, moms like moms with Jesus, kind of like
what you were saying. And sometimes they'll come in and
(39:28):
join me or just sit there. But most of the
time they just kind of keep doing their own thing,
whatever they're doing around the house, they just keep going
for it. But they can at least hear me and
they know what's going on. So that's the beautiful thing
that I would say, is Gosh, I have some of
the best times, even just remembering as we're talking about it,
(39:48):
some of the best times of feeling the presence of
the Holy Spirit. I was up in the middle of
the night just nursing my babies, you know, just the
simplicity of his presence and the rec of who he
is as a father, and just resting that it's enough,
and resting that he will come. As I just bring
(40:10):
him in and just begin to thank him. I thank
him a lot like I thank him where it keeps
me from striving. God, I thank you that your presence
is here with me as I'm changing these diapers. Lord,
as I'm changing a diaper, as I'm potty training, is
I'm homeschooling, as I'm doing whatever. Like God, I thank
you that your presence is right here. I thank you
that this is enough. This is enough. I give this
(40:33):
to you as my ultimate sacrifice. You know, and so
I think just being very vocal for me helps. It
kind of brings things into alignment. Brings my mind, my
wandering mind into alignment, brings my faith into alignment, brings
my household into alignment. You know, where my mind tells
me it's not enough or what you know, you're stressed
(40:53):
out or this, that when I begin to open up
my mouth and use my voice and begin to say
it by faith, it begins to bring me into right
alignment with the lords. So that's just something practical that
I do. I do also fast one day a week.
That helps me. That helps keep me focused because when
(41:14):
my stomach's growling, it reminds me, like, hey, I'm hungry
for Jesus, and it reminds me to pray out loud
to worship. Another practical I do a lot of YouTube
in the house, worship playing throughout the day. Just really
like cultivating that presence of worship because I begin to
(41:34):
find like it just it just sets the tone in
the home. So those are just some practical.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
Things, absolutely, no, those are some of those are really good.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Because one of the things I do is I like,
before I minister, typically I get myself in a place
of praise. Like a lot of people will pray, but
I do that in preparing the word or preparing to
talk or be on a podcast or whatever. But I
like to get myself on a place of price, you
(42:03):
know what I'm saying. And so it might look like, oh,
I'm putting on makeup, but I'm like listening to music
and I'm gearing my spirit up to be that conduit
of the presence of God, of the power of God,
and getting myself back in alignment, like all the chaos
of thoughts, all the things that are happening, pushing that
to the side and pulling my mind to be aware,
(42:27):
pulling my spirit forward to be aware, you know, not
focusing on the aches and the pains or the whatever
is going on, you know, physically, but being present to
what God is calling us into in that moment.
Speaker 2 (42:43):
And all the things have to get done, like.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
The toilet's got to get cleaned, the laundry's got to
get folded, the meals have got to be cooked.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
But that's not where our life is.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
Those are just the mundane necessities of existence. But there's
an abundant life that God's calling us into, and we
have to learn how to abide in the Holy Spirit
at all times and in the whole things right, And so
we can get derailed, We can get pulled by our
lower nature, by our flesh and the other things.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
Right.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
We can even allow circumstances and people to pull us
into that place.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
But our highest calling and our highest place.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Of existence is allowing the presence of God to be
with us, to call us into that place of maturity,
so that we're reflecting who He is and what He's
called us to be. This is so good because this
is the practicality of walking out revival.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Right.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
So you shoot under the power of God. You got
filled with the Holy Spirit. Now what totally right?
Speaker 3 (43:53):
How do we make this reel on Monday or Tuesday
or whatever day?
Speaker 2 (43:58):
Right?
Speaker 3 (43:59):
I feel like though I you know what, to be honest,
when you were talking and you were talking about bringing
it into the daily life, I would honestly have to
say that has been one of the greatest training grounds
of how to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit
in a corporate gathering was how well did I follow
the leading of the Holy Spirit in my own home
(44:20):
with my kids, with my to do list. There have
been many times where I have felt the leading of
the Holy Spirit say drop the to do like you said,
the natural things is what does Matthew tell us, what
as jesusay says, seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, and
all of these lesser things will be added under you.
(44:42):
And it's like I would honestly have to say that
one of the greatest training grounds to hear the movement
of the Holy Spirit corporately has been in the secret
place in my home. Was I going to put a
to do list down to maybe like worship a little bit,
or like even just spend time with my kids and
not really get so much done, because I know that
(45:04):
when I connect with them on a heart level, that
communicates the love of the Father, it communicates the nearness
of Jesus to them. And so that a lot of
times is how I will recognize the Holy Spirit. Is
how I was able to steward his voice at home,
and it's made a difference. So yeah, I think that Gosh,
(45:28):
the mundane life it prepares It's like David, you know,
out in the field. He was prepared in the mundane
day to day life for the greatness that God had
for him in the future. And I feel it's the
same for us with moms, you know, and aunties and
friends and you know, just women, because you know, we
kind of have that nature like we'll take care of it.
(45:49):
We've got this like we're going to get some things
done for the people around us. We all have mother's
hearts innately to take I mean, I know you, I
see you. You're mothering a generation, you're mothering a house. Spiritually,
you're mothering people around you all the time. And so
it's like as mothers I'm talking of every woman listening,
(46:11):
and you include as mothers, we have that heart to
serve and to you know, have each other's backs and
things like that. And so I believe that in that
day to day, you know, we God trains us to
hear his voice and to move with the impulses of
the Holy Spirit, as Roman tells them.
Speaker 1 (46:31):
Oh my goodness, so important because God has a priority,
He has priorities. We set priorities, but He has priorities,
so like many are the plans on man's heart, but
he like orders our steps.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
And so I think what you're talking about is so critical.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Because it's like, can you like hear the still small
voice that says no, this is a priority over here.
You know what I'm saying, Like, even at work has
given you certain things, but maybe there's a shifting that
you didn't know about in a meeting.
Speaker 2 (47:04):
Can you hear the still small.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
Voice of God that says, do this, this and this
over here that helps you to be one step ahead
so that you're not under stress or pressure?
Speaker 2 (47:15):
Right?
Speaker 1 (47:16):
Can you hear the still small voice of God that's like, hey,
you need to attend to this on your car or
this over here right when that wasn't on your list,
or your child is struggling with depression, you need to
pray that through. Can you get that insight from the
Holy Spirit and steward it and receive that revelation. I
(47:38):
really have learned that the Lord is always speaking. It's
a matter of am I listening and then am I
retaining what he's saying. So now when I hear that
that still small voice of things, of plans of revelation,
I'm like quick to write it down to steward it.
And when I don't, I repent and I'm like, God,
(48:00):
will you bring it back to my remembrance?
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Father?
Speaker 1 (48:03):
Would you bring it back to my remembrance? Because I
know you already told me how to handle this. I
know you already instructed me of what to do, and
He's so faithful.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
To do that.
Speaker 3 (48:12):
So good, so good.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
This is the walking out right, because you know, we
get we're on platforms and we have the opportunity to
run with incredible people, incredible.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
Women and men of God.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
That are moving in power and glory and revelation and
then what next? Right, So I think this is so
so good to share. We are in a moment of revival,
and I know that we are seeing revival poured out
in college campuses. We're seeing the spirit of God hovering
on the next generation on gen Z. What are your thoughts?
(48:53):
What are things that we should be doing other than
just being those mothers and fathers, praying for them, blessing
what God's doing with them.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
Yeah, man, I think I think we ought to lock
arms and advance together, do things together. That's something I'm
very honored to be able to do, even just with
my own children and my daughter that that is leading
revival in California with the group, and and even tonight
(49:26):
we're gonna we're gonna do an event tonight. You know,
We're gonna host a revival event tonight, and my daughter's
in town and she's going to do it with us,
and and so I believe what you're saying, like we
cover them, we encourage them. I think that's part of
our mandate for gen Z like, but we also have
to lock arms and do it with them and do
it together so that we can truly cease sustainability. And
(49:49):
I believe that right now we're seeing revival on a
grassroots level, which is usually how it happens because God
honors people who are taking responsibility for their Christianity, taking
responsibility for saying, I am a witness, I am a
witness of Jesus. And what does that look like. I
(50:09):
can't pass it to a pastor. I can't pass it
to only the young ones, the gen Z, the jen
Alpha like. You know, I think you and I like
represent like the older sister, Like we're millennials, the older
sister millennials.
Speaker 2 (50:21):
Yes, the older millennials. I'm still hold on you know
what I'm.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
Saying, Like we're like, come on, like for our generation
and then those that have gone before us. You know,
you you mentioned earlier, you and I have a lot
of the same spiritual parents, and you know let's just
name a few if we could, that we love so much.
Mama Cindy Jacobs and Papa Bill Johnson and Randy Clark
(50:48):
and Bill Hammond and Patricia and there's so many more
go on, yes, And you know what they do, you know,
we got to learn from that. They cheer us on,
they make room for us, they pray for us, they'll
correct us when needed and speak into our life. But buddy,
(51:10):
you know those women sometimes I'm like tired. They're not complaining.
They're getting like a few hours of sleep and going
to advance the kingdom and traveling over here and preaching
the gospel and doing all this. And I'm like, oh, yeah,
come on, you know what I mean, Like they inspire
us to like not be lazy and complain and keep going.
You know. So I love that, And I feel like
(51:33):
you and I are at this bridge and our generation
where now we can learn to do the same. We're
gonna pray for them, we're gonna encourage them, but we're
also going to do the stuff right alongside them, you
know what I mean. So that my kids in the back, they.
Speaker 2 (51:46):
Just came out, Oh it's totally fine.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
No, I think that's so powerful, because I think one
of the temptations for the older generation when the younger
generation is raising up and strength and power and annoying
and grace, is to feel obsolete or to feel inadequate,
to feel like what do I have that I can
still steward? But we need one generation to praise God
to the next, like we need that dynamic in this
(52:11):
hour because everyone has a part to play and what
God is doing for the coming of his sin, for
his bride.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
Absolutely, absolutely, I believe that, you know, like even the
Bible tells us, you know in the Book of Judges
that you know, there were leaders that passed away, and
there was a generation that arose behind them that did
not know the works of God. They didn't hear of it,
they didn't see it, they didn't know it, and they
were perishing because of it. And so I believe that
(52:43):
God is bridging the generations. He's bridging in the gap,
and we're banding together, locking arms together in order for
them to see Jesus that is alive. And that's why revival,
I mean, it's breaking out. It's everywhere, you know, the
tsunami dreams that I've had, like for years, recurring they're happening.
It's now, and the waves are just going to continue
(53:05):
to crash. And it's like I told people, like I've
said this before, I've preached this, something like you wouldn't,
in your natural mind speak to a natural tsunami in
the ocean and say, wait, wait wait, I'm not ready. Wait,
this is inconvenient. No this, I'm too busy for this.
Please go back and recede like no, no, no, no,
it's here, it's now. God is not to adjust to
(53:27):
our schedules. It's to be the other way around. We
need to adjust to his timeline, his kingdom, his timing,
and what he's doing in the earth. And so right
now I feel like we're all like kind of grappling
to keep up and reorient our lives and get our
things in order in order to be on the timetable
of heaven. And so it's like the suddenly's of God.
(53:50):
To him, it's not as suddenly he has this perfect
sovereign time for everything. To us, it's suddenly right. And
so I think we're in one of those suddenly moments,
and we're going to continue to be in a suddenly moment.
If I can even speak prophetically as far as revival
right now that we are in a suddenly moment. It's
not to God, but it may feel that way to us.
(54:10):
And so his suddenlies are so beautiful because sometimes we
won't feel prepared, but He knows best, his leadership is best,
and he's actually been preparing us for this from the
beginning of our lives, from the conception in our mother's womb.
He has been preparing us for the suddenlies, preparing our
generation for the suddenlies. And so there's a humility that
(54:33):
comes with it because then we have to trust in
the sovereignty of God that he knew when this was coming,
when it was going to hit our church, when revival
would hit our family, when revival would hit our home group,
fill in the blank. He knew it. So then now
there's a humility that comes into play that we must
have to begin to partner with Him, to say, God,
(54:55):
I trust you. I have to seek your face, I
have to seek your presence. You know I've been sign
I'll prophesyte again. We are in a Joshua three moment
where God is telling the children of Israel crossing over,
keep your eyes on the art, keep your eyes on
the presence, for you've never been this way before, and
we are crossing over as a Joshua generation into the
(55:18):
promises of God. We've never been this way before, and
now more than ever, we have to keep our eyes
on the presence and to go load to humble ourselves
before the Lord so that he can show us how
to advance the kingdom with him.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
Absolutely, I mean if we don't follow his presence, I
mean what do we have right? Like Moses said, if
we don't go with us, how will they know that
we belong to you, that we're your chosen possession? And
I think that we, as the body of Christ, we
need to be jealous about his presence and jealous about
being carriers of His glory in a greater dimension, and
(55:55):
not settling for last year's glory or last year's presence
of God, but continuing to progress and press in and
doing what's necessary in order to cultivate an atmosphere and
a habitation for where He can reside and where he
can call the harvest into right with so society the
(56:19):
way it is and the things that people are struggling with.
People need to need a house to be able to
run into where they know they're going to be set free,
they're going to be healed, they're going to be delivered,
and that happens in His presence.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
That happens in the glory.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
And so we need to be those people that in
those houses where that's possible, right, And that means we
have to keep pursuing the presence, like we need a
fresh a fresh glory and a fresh presence.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
You know, absolutely absolutely. I feel like you guys have
done that so well. My husband and I have had
the privilege of being at your house and I'm telling
you I've I've had, I had, so that's a great time.
I remember leaving and like, man, like if everybody would
see that. Church is so fun, you know, like you know,
(57:08):
but it's the house. Is God's raising up these houses
of glory that keep the main thing, the main thing,
the one thing that matters the most, and it's the
presence of the Lord. And you guys have done that.
And I believe that God is raising up houses of glory.
Prototype house is like the one that you are, that
you are overseen right now, just to bring in the
(57:31):
arc of His presence and just to allow a place
for him to be hosted for him to rest and
for him to remain, And you guys are doing that
so well. And I am looking forward to seeing the
beacon that you are on the I ninety five. You
know you are, that your house is. They're on the
(57:53):
I ninety five like a lighthouse, you know. I just
see you guys being like a lighthouse in the in
the ocean where people know the presence of the Lord
dwells there. The glory of the Lord is there, and
wherever the glory is, people go from glory to glory,
you know, and the reformation of society begins to happen.
Speaker 1 (58:12):
So we're excited and we're honored for what the Lord
has called us into, you know. But when we go
after the presence, it means like we've got to die
to agendas and religion and formalities and be willing to
go with what the leading of His spirit is. And
sometimes that means we started a thing that He let
(58:33):
us into, but we then adjust to what He wants
to do with that. And it's a learning process for
everybody involved, and there's like a flexibility that's needed. But
we're excited about just being used by God, right, That's
the ultimate thing, is just being of use to the Master.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
This has been so good.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
I want to thank you for being with me today
on the podcast. Would you pray for the ladies that
are are on and with us today?
Speaker 3 (59:06):
Absolutely, I totally will. Holy Spirit. I thank you that
you are already here, and I thank you that you
are overshadowing every person listening to this podcast. I thank you,
Holy Spirit, that you are making Jesus real to every
single listener and viewer today. God Lord, I just pray
(59:29):
that your presence would begin to fill them. I pray
for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire to
come and hit every person, every household. God, I pray
that your presence would dwell in their homes. I pray
for every person right now that's needing healing in their
body that you would be healed by the power of
the Holy Spirit. Right now and because of the finished
(59:50):
work of the Cross, and right now, God, I thank
you that you are releasing joy. I just feel the
presence of God filling listeners and feeling their homes with
joy unspeakable. I thank you for hope that is coming
to people again. I thank you, and I speak to
every dead place in your life, and I say come
(01:00:11):
back to life in the name of Jesus. And may
the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit revive
you and ignite your life and ignite your purpose in Jesus'
mighty name. And we bless you in the name of
the Lord. And I bless your journey right now. I
(01:00:34):
bless where you're at. Some of you need to know
that this is not the end of your story. That
Jesus is rewriting stories right now, that he's rewriting past,
he's rewriting your present because he has your future in
place in him in Christ. And Lord, I just thank
you for just a soothing balm to go over hearts
(01:00:57):
right now. I just feel the presence of the Holy
Spirit is healing inside and out with a soothing bomb
in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank you, Lord.
Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
We just thank you that anywhere we've made covenance with death, Lord,
we repent and we renounce any ohs or covenance we've
made with death, even over ourselves, even over our children. Lord,
and we just decree life today that the abundant life
of Christ would begin to arise, rejuvenate and replenish. Ask God, Lord,
(01:01:31):
I thank you that deliverance and freedom is our portion
today because you rule and reign. So Lord, we thank
you that we won't have trouble with sleep, we won't
have trouble with resting. But because your presence is coming
upon us in a fresh and a new way, we'll
be able to rest in your presence, rest in your goodness,
(01:01:57):
and so Lord, we thank you for what you're doing
in Jesus name.
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
Amen. Yeah, this is so good. Thank you for being here.
