Speaker 1 (00:00):
How do you make space to actually hear God's voice
when every other notification is fighting for your attention. You know,
he might be in a time of for life that
you have to hear God's voice. You know, I've been
there many times, sometimes you know, more desperate than others.
There was one time I was I was single and
(00:24):
I was dating my now husband, and I just needed
to hear I needed confirmation that I was to marry
him because it just everything was seemingly falling apart, and
I just needed to hear the voice of God. Not
that people needed to tell me, not that I needed
(00:44):
a word, not that I needed confirmation from all these
other people. I knew that if I heard God's voice,
that that's all that I needed. And when I called
out to him and I was quiet and I went
before his throne, he always showed up. He spoke to
me crystal clear. And you know, you might be in
(01:04):
a place in your life that you have got to
hear the voice of God. You have to have direction
in some way, and you're just like there's nobody talking.
It's dead silence, it's radio silence. You know, when you pray.
So many times when people pray it's a one way conversation.
(01:27):
It's God, I need to know this, Lord, I need direction,
God help, I need this, I need that, blah blah
blah blah blah. And it's just this one way conversation. Well,
in relationship, because it's not religiosity that you have as
a Christian, it's relationship. And when you're in relationship with someone,
it's not a one way conversation. My friends, when I
(01:51):
get with my friends, it's not just one way conversation
that I have with them, but we have a conversation
that we go back and forth. I shut up when
they talk and by versa. Well, when you go before
the Lord and you have conversation, you get before the
Lord and you listen, you stay still, you be quiet,
and you let your spirit be quiet and let the
(02:12):
Lord speak to you. You know. I love the story.
And first Samuel, or it's about Samuel and Hannah had
brought Samuel to the Temple to Eli to be dedicated
before the Lord, to grow up in the temple. Jewish
tradition says that Samuel was about twelve years old. Also,
Josephus wrote about those times in his life that he
(02:33):
was about twelve and he went before the Lord. But
you know the story where it says that he went
to sleep and in the middle of the night he heard
a voice, and so Samuel got up. He ran to
Eli and he says, yes, Eli, what do you want?
And Eli's like, I didn't call you. Go back to bed.
So Samuel goes back to bed, and once again he
(02:55):
hears that voice, and he jumps up and he goes
back into Eli's room and he says, yes, Eli, what
do you want me to do? And It's just like, hey,
go back to sleep. I didn't call you. The third time,
same thing happens. Samuel ron Zan goes to Eli and
Eli's like, you know what, this must be the Lord.
Next time he calls you say, yes, Lord, your servant
(03:18):
is here. Well, if a twelve year old child can
hear the voice of God even younger, how much more
so can an adult hear the voice of God? You
just have to drown everything out and lean in to
the voice of God for him to hear you. Isaiah
fifty verses four and five, which is one of my
(03:39):
all time favorite scriptures. It says this, It says, the
Lord has given me the tongue of the learned to
speak a word in season to him who's weary. He
awakens me mourning. By morning, he awakens my ear to
hear as we have learned, the Lord has opened my ear.
I wasn't rebellious, nor did I turn away. What does
(04:00):
that mean? It means that when you hear the voice
of the Lord, the Holy Spirit speaks to you. That
you can be in a certain situation and around people
you might not even know, and all of a sudden,
the Holy Spirit speaks to you and gives you a
word of encouragement for that person. Well, you go and
you give it to them, and it might not mean
(04:20):
anything to you, but it can mean the world of
that person, and all of a sudden, their whole day
has changed. It's given them confirmation in something that they've
been longing for. Well, it's hearing the voice of God.
It's tweaking that ear. It's like you're in your car
and you're listening to the radio when you have a
certain station on a certain radio frequency. Well, it's that
(04:42):
radio frequency that you're hearing. Well, it's just like your
ear is a radio frequency. It's dialed in straight to
Heaven's thrown where it can hear God's voice so crystal
clear that you don't question, you don't fear, you don't
live in anxiety or worry because you know the voice
of the Father, just like you know the voice of
(05:03):
your children, just like you know the voice of your family.
You know the voice of God. And that's God's intention
for you. That's God's desire for you to know his voice,
to know his spirit, to know his understanding. And all
you have to do is to lean into him. So
you just have to have that sound check. You have
to go to God in prayer, say, Lord, I ask
(05:24):
that you would tweak my ear. Lord, let me hear
your voice. Teach me, Holy Spirit, to hear your voice.
And as you do that, he will teach you. He'll
position you, he'll guide you, he'll direct you, and you
just step out of boldness because God is directing your path.
It says the steps of a righteous man are ordered
(05:45):
of the Lord. That's a man and a woman. The
steps of the righteous are ordered of the Lord. And
as you step out, God will direct your every path.
You know He has a filter test. There's there's three
criteria for God prophet. That's peace, that's truth, and that's love.
When He has that for you, you step out because
(06:06):
God has great things in store, and then you go
to action. In that you obey. Even according to Isaiah fifty,
it says I wasn't rebellious, nor did I turn away.
That means that you obeyed. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Obey him and watch what God opens for you. Let's pray. Father.
I just thank you for each and every person. God,
(06:27):
I declare and I decree Lord, that you are tweaking
their ear. Lord, I thank you. We come to you
in prayer, and as each and every person can hear
the sound of my voice. God, I just thank you
that you're tweaking their ear in prayer. Lord, that you're
tweaking their ear to hear your voice. God. That it's
(06:47):
not a question of Lord. I need your direction, Lord,
I need to hear from you. God. Where are you, Lord,
You're right there. And I ask that you would just
show up in the greatest way. Lord, that beyond their understanding,
beyond their circumstances, Lord, that you're going beyond anything that
they could think or imagine. Lord, that you're showing up
right in the middle of their need, right where they
(07:09):
need it. In the name of Jesus. I think you
that this week is going to be an incredible week
for them where they hear your voice and they're they're
obedient and as their obedient God Lord, that you give
great reward in the name of Jesus God, I think
you that you're setting people up for success this week.
In Jesus Precious and we pray Amen.
