Speaker 1 (00:03):
This is Burke in the game and I heard radio podcast. Okay,
I'm here still in New York. It's my last day
here actually before the big premiere of Dancing with the
Stars season thirty one. Oh my goodness. I am also
going to be using my new face, which is this

(00:24):
like micro needling type thing. So excuse the sound in
the background. But um, I just wanted to talk to
you guys because it's been a while. I've been really
bad with my vlogs, my Burke diaries, but um, I
just wanted to check in and say that Sam is
doing an amazing job. He really is. He's been killing it.

(00:44):
He's really worked so hard, he's so sore, and you know,
we haven't had a lot of time together. So this
is only our fifth I think, yeah, our fifth rehearsal
or sixth rehearsal anyway, I forgot about that. Honestly. The
premiere is only what a few days away, and um
what is amazing is that Sam is actually moving to

(01:05):
l A for a few weeks. ABC was nice enough
to let him do this, Thank you, ABC, and it's
going to help so much instead of you know, the
usual traveling back and forth every week in between life
show days. That is never good for anybody's mental health.
So I'm happy that he has committed. He's working really hard. Look,
there's a lot of competition this season. I don't think

(01:27):
we're gonna be the best dancers at the gate. But
you know what, if Sam has improved the way that
I've seen him, you never know. I just hope that
we have a chance to prove it to y'all. And
we're definitely gonna need your votes, so please vote, vote,
vote Team Thunder from down Under. Okay, but um, yeah,
there's a lot of pro rehearsals when I get back

(01:48):
to l A. And then on top of it all,
you know, it's gonna be hectic. It's just there's so
many new moving parts and amazing moving parts, Matt, but um,
you know, it's just gonna be a lot of being
pulled around everywhere. I think in the beginning there's sixteen couples.
This is the most we've had since Donnie Osmond season

(02:08):
when he won that season with Kim Hersha now hershbek Um.
But I'm very excited just to get out there. You know,
it's always nerve racking for the celebrity who especially if
you're not a performer, you know. I would say that
Sam is a performer when it comes to the weather
and being on camera. He definitely has a huge personality

(02:28):
and it's just figuring out how to showcase that while
still you know, having some sort of control over the
excitement and nerves that will happen on the live show day.
But you know what it is, what it is. We
have to start somewhere and it's not about how you start,
it's about where you finish, you know. So I think
that's what we're really focusing on, is dancing together and

(02:50):
enjoying this moment because it's nothing. There's nothing like your
first that's for sure. Um. As far as rehearsals go,
you know, it's been not all fun. It's also been frustrating,
I think for Sam. But I think now that every
single day he comes in it's he's improved so much. Um.
And you know what, I think that with this show

(03:13):
comes lots of frustration and I'm not going to sugarcoat anything.
It's not easy. Time is not on our side, and
I think that that is where, you know, you start
to see tension and frustration thinking that this is never
going to happen, but for some reason, it always happens,
and we always figure it out no matter what. Anyway,

(03:35):
I just wanted to check in with you guys. We
need all your votes, um. I believe that in the
US and Canada can vote. UM. But other than that, UM,
you guys are gonna have to just watch it from
the comfort of your own home. I know everyone's talking
about how Disney Plus is so expensive and they don't

(03:56):
want to pay, but they have a special deal right now.
Disney Plus is now only one dollar or ninety nine
cents um. And for the avid fans out there that
are upset about paying, you know, it's only a dollar
ninety nine. I know it's a lot of money regardless,
and it's been free for the past thirty seasons. So
either way, I love you guys. I hope you end

(04:17):
up getting Disney Plus. Um. If not, hopefully it'll I'm
not sure if it will air on YouTube. I hear
it's not. I hear Disney Plus is being really strict
about that. They just wanted on Disney Plus so um,
but I'm sure you'll see something on our Instagram feeds. Anyway,
I hope you guys tune in this is gonna be
regardless of how far Sam and I go, It's going
to be really an amazing season. The cast is great,

(04:39):
that pairings are great, um, and just from what I've
seen so far, as far as theme weeks ago, it's
going to be so much fun. And you know, having
our old show runner back, as I talked about last time,
it just brings the heart back to the show, I think.
So I hope to see you guys um September nine.

(04:59):
Don't know our order yet of when we dance, but
all I know is we're gonna have a freaking blast
and I hope you join us, all right. I love
you guys, And again, sorry I'm doing this facial thing.
I know it's annoying with the beachs in the background,
but you know what, this is the real deal. This
is the only time I could do it, so I hope.
