I have two of my closest friends on here, so
y'all know I been on the show a thousand times,
but we have a new person on the show, my
friend Steve. Yeah, Steve trying to be all cool, y'all.

(00:44):
But every time we meet people, Steve always tell people
that's been my friend for twenty years.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Herd, it's my first podcast. I'm gonna let you help
me do this.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
You're nervous, not nervous, not really listen. I had to
give am lit pep talk y'all because sometimes we go
a little too deep, and I'm like, well, I can't
have everybody in our business. But how y'all feeling? How
y'all doing? How was your holiday?

Speaker 4 (01:09):
I'm good. I'm still in Memphis.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I live in Phoenix, Arizona, so I've been out there
for about seven years or so.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
But Memphis is home, so I got a chance to
come back and been here for about a week and
a half.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Almost two weeks, So this is actually the longs I've
ever been here since I've moved.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
So, you know, it's good. I see a lot of
friends and family, y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
He been there for like a month, having too much
fun all the game. How was your holiday?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
It was good.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
It was quiet, it was cool, very just family and
we just chilled out. It was good, good food too.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yeah, I had a really good holiday. I don't know.
This season just made me feel like so thankful and
just being in the spirit of gratitude, like this has
been a really good year. The spring, the little speed
bumps I had.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Yeah, it's been rough, but I think the holiday kind
of made up for it needs something to look for,
it to little hope. Yeah, right, been going to the world,
been going through.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
It, right. And I remember I was gonna say so
I Steve gonna hit me up before the call before
we started recording, y'all, and he was like, well, how
long is it gonna be? Somebody, nigga? What you got
to do? And he's gonna say, I'm just saying because
I got things. I gotta go see people. I'm like, nigga,
you've been in Memphis for a whole month. You ain't
see me.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
This my last day.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
I'm just you know, I gotta say goodbye to people,
and people want to see me.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Got to do.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Arran's and I'm telling my mom and sister they think
I'm a contractor.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
I've been you know, the dressers, setting up.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Ringing cameras and making home depot breaking y'allds.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
So you know, I'm busy. I'm ready to go now
at this point.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Now he's ready to go a lot of stuff over with.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I ain't got more games and teachers to go.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
To, y'all. He's been going to a game every day, y'all.
The way, I've been like low Key Jones. I'm like, yeah,
I cannot wait to come home because I'm going to
a game too. But anyway, so before we get into everything,
what was y'all overall reaction to how the event turned
out this year?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
I would say, me, this is my first time partaking
in I know it's the second.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Year doing partaking.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Well, this is my first time. But anyway, you're messing
me up here. But no, it was real successful.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I saw the pictures and videos from last year, so
of course I kept up with it last year, but
I had some extra time this year, so I wanted
to make sure I hit you up to see if
I could help in any way possible.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Just you know, help you out. So but yeah, it
was real successful, bigger than what I thought. It was.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Not to downplay or anything, being there in person, seeing
you know, all the families when we got there, I
wasn't expecting it to be a you know, lye already
when you were getting the text and they're saying it's
a lot of fifty cars or however many cars, and
seeing the pictures of the videos me personally, like I said,
I knew it'd be successful.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
I just didn't think of, you know, to that magnitude.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
So I'm still excited to see, you know, what comes
of it up next year.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
I'm sure it's gonna be bigger and better.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
So and before you answer, Ojia, and I know you're
not downplaying it, but I feel like a lot of
people were not expecting to turnout that we did this year.
Like last year was good, but this year was way bigger.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah, I was, and that's what I was thinking, Like
I said, I was just thinking of what I saw
last year.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
So of course I know.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Every year is going to be bigger and better, but
I didn't think it would be you know, this tremendous
of a jump with me seeing in firsthand.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
This year so and also being involved. True, what did
you think because you was there last year?

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:35):
I was there because y'all know, I'm a PhD employee
and stuff, my.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Club, my therapist, my mama.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Let's say she needed to put me on payroll, y'all,
but that's another podcast. Yeah, but anyways, I think it
was good. You know, it's always But what people don't
know is the stress that goes into trying to plan
these events, to how we be cussing each the out behinden.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
And lie, you gotta do this, and you gotta do that.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
And then when it finally just settles and we're actually
passing our turkeys, like just to see people get so
excited and people that wasn't expecting to come up on
a turkey drive and just be excited like wait, you're
giving away turkeys, like these good turkeys too, and like
from home food from Hoole Foods, and they are like
so excited and so happy and so thankful. I think that,

(05:25):
you know, it's just always a blessing to you know,
be a blessing. And I think it was a very
good turnout. I think it was bigger than last year.
And I think it's gonna get bigger every year. The
team just keeps adding people and just keeps getting bigger
and bigger. So yeah, I think it was a great,
great event.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Aja. How would you say my energy was this year
compared last year? Because I feel like this year, I
was like I was breezing, Like I feel like it
was just so easy, Like I was actually excited about
it because last year, y'all, we all know, I was
so stressed. No, I think I did this year?

Speaker 3 (06:01):
You did?

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I she did.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
I Like last year she didn't know what to expect stress.
She knew what to kind of expect, but I think
also she didn't expect it to be as big as
it was. And then on top of that, ever, they
get these stress moments that she kind of just black out,
and then she forget about the stress moments that she
had and then she'd be like, I didn't do that yet.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
But I mean, I think overall, like.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
Your energy was pretty your energy was really good. I
think you knew that you had more people paying attention,
so you wanted it to go like just right. So
it was more a little bit more tense, like dang,
I can't believe I'm actually passing out this many turkeys,
said this many people, and this many people are willing
to help me. So it was more so like it
was like you were in all yeah, you were kind

(06:51):
of like in awe about it, like wow, like this
is gonna get bigger. And I think this year was
the year that you realized that this is this is
a big event for it, like this is a thing
like yeah, the PhD Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, like wow. Like
I think last year you kind of like put your
toes in and you was like, Okay, I'm doing this.

(07:12):
But this year you're like, nah, this is about to
be big, Like you know, it kind of like it
was a realization that you that you're actually doing something
and it's making a big impact.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
I ain't gonna lie y'all. Sometimes my feelings can be
a little delayed. So last year, I think the day
after the Turkey Drive, I cried, But I think I'm
more so when odd your kitchen rite and I think
I had so like Charlottagne like reposted or something, and
I think that's when it finally hit me. And yo,
the way my mouth started to trimple it and I
just started crying. But I think I was just more

(07:44):
so crying because I'm like, damn, like we finally did it,
because like I was so stressed out and so this year,
I think it hit me, like what A couple of
days later, I was at the desk whatever, and I'm
just thinking, I was, oh, I think I got the
video or something day before Thanksgiving and I cried and
I was like, damn, like, but you really did it?

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Like we did this?

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, okay, so let's start for Friday morning and work
our way back up to Sunday. So Friday, Steve came in, No,
what did you come in town Thursday night? No Friday
morning because your flight.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
Yeah, so part.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Of it, we're being honest. So you want to talk
about being here a month.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Part of it was right early too for to help
you out, but you know, not a problem.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
But you know you're making jokes.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Somebod I've been here in a month, buttide job.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
I've been waking up, so I wake up super early, right,
so everybody else sleep. I'm like, let me call this
nigga Steve. Steve Like, what's up, man, Steve? No sleep,
nothing but ahead Steve.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
So that that was it. I was just saying, that's
part of the reason why I've been here so long.
As I said, so, you know, it's.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Cool you thought that Turkey Drive was the day before Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah, I mean originally.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Because what happened was when I thought about it and
I saw your reposts, I decided to hit you up
and I was like, hey, I'm being town.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
But I wasn't originally getting in town until Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
But you said the Turkey Drive was Saturday, so I
had some free time and I just rearranged my.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Flight and I got in. It's supposed to been Thursday night,
but delays.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Ain't getting in Friday morning about five am Friday morning,
and they just hit you up and jump from there,
and so going such.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
A good friends.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Then he is a good friend because I'm so thankful
that you came because last year we had I just
fiance Mario who was there and like that was only
with one hundred turkeys. So this year we doubled them
out and if we didn't have you, Steve, like we
would have really been having like we would have been
working because yo, me and they.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Would have been elaying them turkeys. We would have been
so tired.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
And granted, we had like a lot of people that
came out. I think we probably had like ten volunteers
that helped us. But some of our volunteers are from
my old neighborhood at my elementary school, so they are
older people, so you know, because we respectful and we
from the South, so we don't want them to do
too much. But even I just son, y'all, like, and I.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Felt like the street tap, like a street team.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Right, we were hustling. Okay, So at that point, I
think Steve got in like around four o'clock that morning,
and so at this point we had to get ready
to go to radio. But I didn't think Steve was
gonna pull up on us because I'm like, I know
he tired, right, and so I should not make our
way to the radio stations. And I ain't gonna lie, y'all.
That was probably like the highlight of my trip. Like

(10:27):
that was fun, right, so much fun. Okay, So looks
like about my experience. I was just like, what did
you think about it? Because I was on air and
also y'all can watch all of the interviews on my
YouTube channel at the Professional Homegirl, But what was what
was you thinking? Because I was like geeking out.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
It was fun like the people that everybody on the
radio station was just good energy, like they just welcomed
welcomed us with open arms, and they were just so funny.
Like I think me and Ebene laughed from the time
we walked in there to the time we left, like
we was just all y'all was in giggling because they
was just so funny, like everybody was so nice so

(11:05):
well for man, it was just they were just great
people over there. So yeah, it was fun.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
And then Steve popped up. What did you pop up
when we did? Sherry Mackie Shaw, Yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Came in so, like I said, you know, I was
coming in just getting about five o'clock in the morning,
so I had to get my car situation, and I
popped in and made it probably about halfway while you know,
you are doing an interview, So I did miss the
I think first or two stations you went too, so
I got about halfway. But like you said, I saw
about two interviews. I was with you all about two,
but I really enjoyed it. Funny thing is just a

(11:36):
small world. Is stan Bell one of the DJs for
I Believe?

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Was he a not K Now he's one on one
right right now?

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Ninety seven?

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Well yeah, well back in the day K ninety seven.
That's why I said K ninety seven.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
So he actually used to be my teacher I went
to with the high school graduated, but he was actually
like my mask calm. He had a radio on TV
class so he you know, DJ's around.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
I mean, he was a city DJ for K ninety
seven local station.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
He had like nig jal in Memphis, y'all.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Yeah, yess little freestyle.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
It's getting in front of him to y'all yeah, groupie.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
It was cool seeing him like that. You know, he's
been my teacher.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
I've been knowing him for about twenty five years and
now twenty some years now plus, so I saw him
and he's still going at it. So twenty thirty something
ever since I was a kid, and he's been on
the radio, so at least thirty thirty five years.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, Like, I was super excited to meet Mike Evans
and Sherry Mackie. But I'm not gonna lie. I definitely
had like a fangirl moment with stan Bell, like he
is like when you think of Memphis, you think of
stan Bell, like he's one of the things that come up.
So like, hands down, like that was just such a
cool experience. And like I just said, like that, everybody
was just so nice, like it was just a good, good,

(12:56):
good time. So shout out to the iHeart media and
Memphis team over there.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Shout out.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Okay, So afterwards, later on that night, we met up
because I guess we want to celebrate. Niggas normally celebrate
after the event, but we wanted to so it's a
swamp bar. We went out there. Whatever, cool little vibe.
And I can tell y'all, I knew that a time

(13:25):
was gonna be had when somebody did one thing. What's
the one thing I'm about to say.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Child, Steve.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
So we can cheap up whatever. So Steve already coming
out lit like a drink, like what came by? Steve
still gonna make sure you have a good time. So
he come out with his drink whatever, mom you He
lived down the street from the place, right, so we're parking.
His drink is like I would say, like almost halfway full.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Done done, you.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Know it was it was halfway full, right, So we
walking whatever, and y'all know that the National Guards is
in Memphis, so we waving at them. They went. So
we get inside, so we like, see, you know, you
have to drink down. So he's trying to chug, but
he was like fuck it, right, So we get inside,
we set at the little bar or whatever, and next

(14:23):
thing you know, Steve's I'll be right back. So he
put it on the ledge, remember, right on the leg
walked in.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
I was like, see you cannot take the drink into
the bar, right, So he's like, all right, fuing, I'm
gonna put it on the ledge. So he put it
on the list.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Like you know, like you just put a drink down,
like I ain't gonna throw it on the curb or something, right, right,
So go in dow listen, order the drinks and stuff.
He would be right back. So actually were about to
go to the bath room or something. He's be right back.
So re mind you were sitting outside so we can
see where he's going, y'all. This nigga walked out the

(14:59):
rest of run to go finish this drink.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Drink that is crazy. We actually look at each other.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
I can I can see the drink. I can see
it wasn't father drink.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Bro. I can see the drink. I looking where we
said literally won't be so just to be clear, it's
not like the drink was just on the corner. It's
literally in the isolated place that it's no crafty really
going by there. I can see the drink the entire
time when we go because what they're not telling you.
It's kind of an open bar concept type of house.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
That you can see story you don't like the patio and.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
I'm sitting there, I can see the drink. Nobody's touched it.
So we go out. We're on the patio.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
I'm literally twenty yards from the drink. So I'm just like,
all right, I'll be right back and just finish my
drink and come back, you know.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
And that's when I know, y'all. We we have a time.
We ordered get what y'all want, what y'all want? Way,
he said, give a job, give me, I'll say, we said, Steeve.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
He like, it's on me.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
It's on me, y'all.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
The next day was like I paid for it, but
I owe y'all what I owe y'all.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
Day, Yeah, we paid for everything to me, Like, wait, wait,
I gotta you see she is lying.

Speaker 6 (16:23):
You pay for it all.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
He was like, I can't believe you did me like that, y'all.
We was so lit, y'all were playing I phone try
to see a gonna pick up first.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
She was so annoyed.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh, he was bro we get into the house, this
biga asleep. I'm like, Mario, wake up, what's up, y'all,
it's your girl ebn a here, and be sure to
follow me on Instagram and TikTok at pretty private podcast,
and don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel at

(16:59):
the Professional Homegirl. Now let's get back to the show.
We were like, I ain't gonna lie. That weekend was
hands down one of the best weekends I had in Memphis,
Like it was so much fun.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Yeah, we had I mean, I just didn't remember. I
was trying to, you know, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
Yeah, I didn't remember even leaving the place. So you know,
I felt I was in good hands with y'all.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
So he didn't know how he got in the house.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
Child.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
We had to walk in day did y'all carry me
up there, carrying your big ass stairs?

Speaker 2 (17:32):
We walked you in. That's okay. So the next day
I didn't even wake up hungover. Did y'all wake up
feeling a little way?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
It was just not It was not sleeping the night
before because keep in mind my flight got delayed, So
it wasn't really the drink. It was just I was
just fatigued, tired, just passed out after that night, you know,
got went to sleep and came up Saturday morning on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
Yeah, Saturday morning, Saturday morning, I was good ago, so
I was ready.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
So we met at U haul because last year we
had two vehicles and this year it was just no
way we was gonna put those frozen birds in two
cars or any car because it would have been a lot.
So we got U hauled. That was cool. Steve was
a driver, and you would thought that he drove you
hauls for a living the way he was pushing that bitch.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
I mean, once upon a time I did used to
drive truck. I used to have a CDL, so I
still have a CDL. But you know, so you know,
I'm kind of familiar with driving trucks.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
I was like, what Steve bag You was gone. And
then we went to Whole Foods and we got the turkeys.
Shout out to the Whole Foods team on Popular They
are just so nice and hospitable, like they love us.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
It was good energy too, Shout out to them.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
Right.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
So we got the turkeys and then we head to
the Constant Library.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Now at that point, what were y'all thinking? Once we
had the turkeys loaded up and stuff, like, We're like, oh,
she like, we about to really do this because it
was a lot of turkeys.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
Get I was ready to get going because I saw
the line because when we pulled up, it was a line,
and so I'm like, oh this this about to be crazy.
And we just started getting to work immediately, like it
was insane. It was like no thinking at that point.
It was just like, all right, let's get this done.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Anything surprised y'all about how the they went?

Speaker 3 (19:15):
I really, I would say how smooth it went. I
kind of was expecting a little bit more. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
because i mean I've I said, this is my first
time helping you with helping you with this event, but
I've done plenty of you numerous things like this little
turkey drives and things like that and normal it's not
as smooth as it is.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Like, you know, we had our natural hit shit baby,
when I get that drill start to head on, we
don't pay noa.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
I know I need to be on pay I feel
like I need payroll real.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
I'm telling you listen, listen when I tell you my
little nephew when leaked ten years old working breaking boxes,
sound bag and turkeys past flyers, Like everybody had a
role to do. What moments from the drive stood out
to y'all the most, Like there anything or anybody staying
out to y'all.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Would say me personally, it was kind of towards the
end where uh, we actually had plenty of turkeys left,
and you know, we're just trying to feed to anybody
in need or anybody who needs anything. And it was
just hispanic glady walking down the street and she didn't
speak English or anything, and you know, we just reach
out to her like, hey, you know, happy holidays, would

(20:26):
you like a turkey? So it was a language barrier issue. Clearly,
you know, we didn't understand her, she didn't understand us.
So what we did was we just ended up just
going and bringing the turkey over like lifting it holding
passing it to her, and you know, she's like me, me,
and we're like yes, you you.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Know, heavy, heavy, Thanksgiving, heavy, Holidays, blah blah blah. She
literally starts.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Crying and like taking God and pointing up at the
sky and looking at the turkey and almost, you know,
I almost had to shed a little thug.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
That was a good one. That that one kind of
got me too, because I would she was so excited
for that moment, like it was like you could tell
like dang, like we're really making the difference. I mean,
I know we make a difference, but you know it's
us because we're crazy, but it's like difference.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
I think that was a good one too.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
And I think, like, you know, the fact like the volunteers,
like we had someone come from iHeart to help us
and they were just like such tremendous help and yea yeah.
And then we had just like the people that were
there from last year, Tom and bring more people and
one of the.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Ship she she like she did not play. She like,
don't do this, y'all too far back.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Come arge.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
Yeah, it's like the volunteers, I think outside of like
seeing the faces of the people that were receiving the
turkeys were it was just they made it fun. They
made it man, it was that was just good.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
And every year last year we started, before we started
the drive, we pray. So I think last year Mario
prayed a share and Linda pray and you thought God
was with us the way she was. She prayed it down.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Once she got done, I was reaching my wallet, how
much how much I need? Who players like?

Speaker 3 (22:14):
I felt like I needed either that or I was
gonna walk down down to give my give my life
to the Lord.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
That's right, because I'm like that baby, because she prays down,
I ain't gonna lie. To be funny. There was a
particular person that Steve brought up. It was a guy,
and I think he wanted to.

Speaker 7 (22:35):
Give me a hug, but I was like, you know, yeah, yeah,
he was looking at me, looking at him.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I'm like, just make sure all the men around that's
that's the work is.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
He was like, yeah, yeah, you know, we get back
to the people, but you know sometimes, you know, you
still got to kind.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Of be aware of just around and we want to
get back to the people.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Because we're from Memphis. I'm like, I know my people,
I'm just like.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is a little a little too interactive,
a little.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Bit to getting closer. I'm moving back.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
People like turkey, happy holidays. We'll give the hugs, you know,
to a certain degree, but you give it straight.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
That's a hug.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
When I was cod yeah yeah, see, I'm a hugger,
like I hugged some of the older people that like,
I hugged the woman who was with her walker and
her granddaughter because at first, so we normally don't give
turkeys out to those who walking up because the whole
idea is to keep it the smooth process and have
people drive up. But then it's like, come on, who
am I to turn away people that really need turkey?
So I was like, damn, I felt bad and I
need a blessing from God. So I know, walking the

(23:43):
turkey to her, and I was an older woman said
I felt comfortable giving her a hug because I'm a
big hugger. But like some people, especially men, I'm like, nah, buddy, I.

Speaker 6 (23:51):
Did want to say.

Speaker 8 (23:52):
Like.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Something else that shot me was when the construction workers
came up and they all got turkeys.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
That was because I'm coming one bout one I'm.

Speaker 7 (24:01):
Like, what are you coming from?

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I was like, where did they come from? I just
see you over there like getting information and stuff, because
I did not I don't remember seeing them walking up.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
I do not either. That's why I was trying to
figure out where they came from, because they I know,
they were working on the building with behind us, but
then one came and then next thing you know, it
was like six of them.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
I'm like, oh, okay, right right beside, right beside the library,
and that's where it's I want to say, Brooks Museum.
They're like doing some remodeling. They were all working on
the Brooks Museum. Because I asked too, I was like,
where are all coming from? Then they're like, we're working
on the I believe Brooks Museum right next door. And
I saw and you know, it was one of those
like you said, made a couple of them, Habers saying,

(24:41):
you know, I'm bringing the wife all on the turkey.
We were playing again this this weekend, so you know,
give back to community, the people actually making the city better,
giving back, making it more better place. So kind of
felt good to you know, see how thankful they were,
like on the holiday, they're working literally you know what
on a Friday before the holiday, I mean.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
That Friday, but Sat weekend, that Saturday, they're working, still
trying to you know, make ends, meat provide for their family.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
So just be able to get to even working people,
some people who may could have afforded it. But you know,
I feel like punds are type for everybody these days.
So you can say fifty dollars on buying the turkey, yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and the whole.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
We don't do cheap, baby. What I do for myself,
I do for other So we got y'all the best, okay.
And when people realized they was Whole Foods. And I
also think that once people started seeing people were able
to walk up, that's when it really picked up. Like
it was our It was a moment where it was
really busy. Then we had a moment like to breathe,
and then next thing, you know, like it was just
so many people around us. I was a child, Okay.

(25:51):
So so Steve, what did you learn about me from
being a part of this year's event because you never
seen me in this capacity before?

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Yeah, yeah, I would say probably, uh, I say probably,
like the professionalism to a certain degree of just like
how you run your operations, because I just know you
more on a personal friendship level. You know, I always support,
try to donate anything, always supported me, so I'll support.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
But I've never actually partaken or helped you.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
Even though we ain't gonna talk about you beaconing me
over fish sandwich is just a musky.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Man.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
We ain't gonna bring that up. I'm helping another friend
down it with his ya. Basically, well, I'll let you explain.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
It, but no, so really quick. So, so we all
went to school to guy right, and so Steve and
I we hang out in the same group of friends.
We always still pretty close whatever, and for some of
me and Steve always graviatory gravitated towards each other. So
I would say, out of the boys, I mean, I'm
pretty close to you and Evan, but me and you
always been close.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Also, I'm not gonna say that so anyway, you know
I'm about to say so AnyWho, So, if you've never
been to a homecoming or let alone the HBCU, like
homecoming is a really big deal to HBCUs, Like it's
like one of the biggest family reunions ever. Like you
see people you haven't seen it in a thousand years.
You get the stunt on people like it's just a

(27:15):
really good feeling, right. And so I haven't been a
homecoming homecoming in a minute, and I feel like, Steve,
you go there pretty go to homecoming pretty often.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
Right, every year.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
Right.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
And also our school is the Tennessee State University, so
our school is a big deal. We're the only TSU
with a Grammy. Right, So we get the homecoming whatever,
and you know, instantly we all hanging out with going out.
So our friends they was doing like a party slash
fish fry. So the person who was who was frying
to fish, he was like this, he got the best
fishing in Nashville. We should pull up this new So

(27:46):
I'm telling people about the fish fry, about the after hours.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
It's from two to six am.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
So that the six am, y'all. So even though I
don't look my age, we are people of a certain age,
and I like to get my beauty sleep. But I'm like,
fuck it, let me go out and support Evan and
his party. And I think that was like the last no,
I think that was sat right the last day. So
we get there, it's pouring down rain, and y'all, I
see a little blue tint and a man under the

(28:13):
blue tint with one little.

Speaker 6 (28:14):
Friar she is to stop stop playing, because keep up.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
We're not caterist. We're not you know, we're just helping out.
We just helping up. And here you called tripping.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
No no, no no.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
So I come in. I'm giving people hugs and kisses.
We hugging this net, y'all. At this point, it's like
two thirty, right, So I'm like, all right, let me
make my way up to the table to get me
something to eat because I'm hungry. Listen, y'all, when I'm
supporting my friends, I do not expect to get anything
for free. It would be nice, but I understand what
it feels to be an entrepreneur. And I got ten
dollars to support damn fish sandwich. Right, So Steve is

(28:54):
over there. Somebody left them in charity to be the
manager of the server at all the things above and
the rest of alright, right, one thing by Steve. Whenever Steve,
whenever you ask me to do something, he takes it
very seriously. Right, Like Steve was a person. If you
need something done, he gonna make sure it is done,
but also Steve can get a little overwhelmed because he
wanted to do what's right, but then he also overlooked

(29:16):
the people that he need to be making sure it's good.
And for instance, me, so I'm just sitting there. I
see people walking up whatever, so I'm like, all right, cool.
So I'm like, Steve, I just want to fish with
white breads and cheese, hot sauce and pickles. Leave it
at that, right, He's I got you, I got you.
So this is like what thirty minutes, and I'm like,
I'm not gonna help me on to everybody else cause
they're paying, right, And I'm like, well, I'm paying too.
So at this point, I think Steve can feel the

(29:38):
agitation that had towards him, and I was like, so frustrated,
and so I think I must have liked I think
I was trying to get your attention to something. He's
ignoring me at this point, y'all. So he know I'm mad,
and I know he could feel my energy. And then
he's like just one second, one second, y'all, like he
put his hand or like he's like he's getting irritated.
So then I go to the back of our friends
or and I'm like this thing you trying to feed me, y'all.

(29:58):
Like I was like, so like this, it's like four
as what it was four o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
It was like, you ordered two thirty and wait no hour?

Speaker 2 (30:06):
And I waited an hour, y'all. It was an hour
for a damn fish sandwich. At this point, I stormed
back to the table, and I was trying not to
do this out in the open, because how we talk
to each other, it's like we like we bigger, like
brothers and sisters. But oh god, y'all, I must have
blacked hour. I was so mass Our other friend came
on to my so, what's fro ever? Now? You know

(30:26):
we love you this and that. Then the person who
was throwing the party he got involved. He's like, see,
just give us something to eat. So this started feeling,
why are you acting like that? Why are you treating
like that of a fish? And I was so aggy, y'all.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Whole energy changed after she got that food.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
I was actually embarrassed because once I got the sandwich,
everybody started clapping. I was so embarrassed. He came give
me a hug. He's like, why are you acting like
I can't believe you did that. And I was like,
why would you have me waiting up all people.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Serving the people? Man, I'm sit up and serving the
people in the order you know we go back, but
I can't. I can't help you skipping my line. So
i gotta do the people of water plus plus I'm like,
you got I'm like, I'm just let me be just chill.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
You hold off on it. You I'm gonna let you
wait for a second. A second. I was trying to
get my people.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
That was an hour to change, y'all.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
I'm gonna get you, but you know I did kind
of put you to the back. Just make me skip
one person to get them out the way. I'm like,
that's she's not gonna you know, she ain't gonna she
She understands were trying to run a business here. I'm
trying to help my homie out here, so she ain't
gonna die with fish.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Hours until I.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Feel like I was dying of hunger. And then something
came up. He had like oh his says, look so
good and that shit sitting.

Speaker 8 (31:50):
Me over y'all so tight, and said you should go
get one of these, like seriously, well overall y'all that
is the infamous for his story.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
I think we're not gonna ever forget that story because
that ship was hilarious. So if you've never been to
an HBCU homecoming, I suggest you go. And if you
go to an HBCU and your partner don't, I don't
think you should bring them there because yeah, for sure
will not understand because a lot of hugging, a lot
of you look.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
Break up after that.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
They don't be like, who the hell I've been an experience,
You've been.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
A hug of random cheek, you've been knowing twenty twenty
five years, just a friend and her husband.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
See, like, damn, bro, I'm just saying, hey, I don't
want hudge, just I've been.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
I don't think nobody if you have a partner that
has never been to an HBCU, they do not. They
will never understand, like, yeah, that you're bound to break
up because if you don't understand the culture and the
love and the family that it is big. You don't
think your nigga fuck every girl.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
You think, yeah, every dude they come up, you look good.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
By. You might as well be ready to prepare for
that fight because I know leave at home.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Yes, I've had home girls hit me up after like
I'm like, you know, you're good.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
I was like, I notice your fiance he must think
we was sucking at one point and stuff like you know,
we ain't never did nothing.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
We was just cool.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
He's like, nah, he ain't understand he was beating. But
we're good now, though. You know, it's gonna take a
little bit a couple of days for the cool off.
I guess I went to HBC, so I don't have
that problem.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
But you know if you went to.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
Thank God, my man, because listen, okay, So, which one
would y'all say was working of all of us was
working the hardest and who wasn't working the hardest?

Speaker 5 (33:50):
Was working all of us?

Speaker 4 (33:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (33:53):
I was working hard, was doing like three jobs in one.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Truthfully, I feel everybody, you know, but like this, I
feel like I did the least because I just came
in the day before and just like jump into well.
I mean I didn't have like, for instance, where you
said you were stressful at the beginning, you were saying
what you were stressed. It wasn't stressful for me because
I didn't actually have to prepare a plan or do nothing.
I just literally just was like the help or the muscle,
just like, hey, what do you need done? I jump

(34:20):
in So me, it's not stressful.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
It's like rent the car. I mean, it's other than
when you over there chirping out on certain ship.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
But you know the stress you put on me, that's
not even I'm like, if you tell me get the.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
Car picked up, the turkeys, be here you haul at twelve,
I'll be here go ting.

Speaker 6 (34:36):
I'm cool.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
So to me, it's not really stressful. It's just you know,
just y'all, like said, you all, since you are more
so planned and strategically have to do that. You're the
ones having the meetings, to calls and things together, where
me I just come in out I got to do
to say.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
What's.

Speaker 5 (34:52):
I was working hard?

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Now?

Speaker 2 (34:53):
I was working hard.

Speaker 6 (34:54):
I was hard hard.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
I wasn't working I'm think remembering questions way So we
had to so obviously, so y'all know, I raised money
for this, and I would say that was the hardest
part for me because obviously it has been a very
challenging year for so many of us. So this year
I was, y'all, I really felt like I really felt
the compared the last year when it came to me
raising the money for us to be able to purchase

(35:19):
over two hundred turkeys. So I created this form because
I'm like, at some point, once this gets bigger and bigger,
I'm not gonna want to keep asking people for money.
I want to get to these corporations that can be
able to sponsor us and be able to support us
and provide turkeys.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
And so.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
I created a Google form whatever just to capture information
demographics about the people who came out. And so one
of the voluntary shout outs to the trees, she didn't
know how to use the Google form, so she kept
deleting the questions. Yo, she looks so stressed. So me
and Aja like tag team and asking people. We had

(35:54):
to memorize the questions and I had to step to
the side and fix the Google form and I said,
the tree just passed our turkey's baby, because yeah, that
film was so shocked.

Speaker 5 (36:04):
Everything. I'm like, okay, I was like, and then the
forum wasn't working, So I just started remembering certain questions
to make sure that I got at least the emails,
and you know, yeah, so we can email them. Yeah
that was stressful.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Yeah, so once we got done. So Steve was talking
about added strassing him because we had to turn the
U haul back in by a certain time and we
literally had like fifteen minutes. So I'm like, Steve, you
got to go, you got to go. Steve was like

(36:38):
Lottie Haggett, like he was like taking his sweet time,
but also took my I also didn't realize because when
we got the U haul, the U haul the whole
Foods was a long time. So I was thinking the
same distance from the U hauf from the library, but
it was literally a five minute drive. But I was like, Steve,
you gotta go, you gotta go. So the whole time, y'all,
we like everybody's excited, everybody's on such a good high.

(36:58):
He was like, let's just go out of getting go
sell like we're hungry. Yeah, let's get late, like we
was gonna go out. And so I end up going
somewhere to meet somebody, and I was like, Steve called me.
He was like, he's like, we're all like and I.

Speaker 6 (37:20):
Was like, oh, I.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
Can't get long long. Let me let me tell us.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
You tell the story.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
I go to drop I'm supposed to be dropping a car.
The band back off. I'm not tripping because I said,
I'm from MFS. I know exactly where the U haul
is from.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
The distance, and I know it's five minutes, so we
have plenty of times, so I'm not lollygagging. I'm just
not running to because we have like thirty minutes dropping off.
It's five minutes plenty of times. So she thinks I'm
lollagag and this is where she's putting unnecessary pressure. It's
gonna get it's gonna.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Get apologized because I didn't realize. It was like right there, Yeah,
so anyway.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
I go drop it off.

Speaker 4 (37:59):
I'm here no, because you know, I don't have a car.
I'm waiting on picking up.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
I'm like, hey, what's up, Like it's been twenty thirty minutes,
Like what's up?

Speaker 2 (38:08):
It was like, who's gonna put me up?

Speaker 4 (38:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Who?

Speaker 4 (38:10):
I'm like, who comes picked me up? Like you know
we about to go.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
She was like, well, I'm going such and such and
he was like what we was going to? How you
gonna change the plans.

Speaker 6 (38:19):
This and that?

Speaker 1 (38:19):
And I was like, wait, we're gonna pick me up?

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Yeah, I'm like I just about to come get He said,
I thought we was humble. I'm like, no, I gotta
go do something right quick.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
Yeah, she just showing me up. Man. She never left
for us. We had make so bad.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
We were just talking twenty minutes ago, fifteen minutes ago.
How home we were what were gonna get something eat?
And I call her this motherfucker the bounce like, oh no,
I'm going. I'm already going out. I got it's a
business meeting, like that's how I want to have whole
business to it and get some food and drink.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
Well, man, I was the spot, yob. This was really
say yo, keep out.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
This sposed to be a business meeting.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
It was a business mean, So this is him over
the right. He called me while I'm at the spot right.
Remind y'all, I don't come home like that. So I'm
at this spot. It is a vibe like I'm vibing right.
But the music was so loud, so if I knew,
if I would have pick up the phone, we would
have been screaming at each other because I couldn't hear him.
He wasn't gonna be able to hear me. And so

(39:18):
I agged a call and I was like, the music
is loud, l O L baby, I'm talking about. I know,
I was so many bitches and holes. That man was
so mad at me.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
You how you had a business meeting, but now you
had a place at the view because to me, that
sound like you at the clawing.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
How business meetings go.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
They gonna take you to the spots so y'all can talk.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
You know that, I need y'all to be at an
actual sit down restaurant. It's t k something. That's what
it was.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
I was like, I want to be there. I could
be at the table across. I'm like, no, nigga, I'm like,
we just ribing like it was just yo. We was
crying laughing.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
It's she told the whole team everybody. I was just
the only person who said some shit about everybody. She
told everybody that we're gonna go get something to eat,
We're gonna get some drink blah blah.

Speaker 6 (40:20):
So I'm like, I'm starving like happy.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
I was like, I want the food I'm drinking, Like
I'm ready to fucking go eat it. She's like no
music to like, can't I hit you back?

Speaker 2 (40:30):
They're like, nigga, what like, oh my god, sh that
was so funny. And then on Sunday, I link back
up with Steve and his sister shout out to Karen
and oh gosh, we was cracking up, like that story
is going to forever make me beat in tears like
he was. She was like, oh my god. He talked
about it for thirty minutes.

Speaker 3 (40:50):
He was so mad at you.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
But no, overall this year, this Turkey Drive was just like,
hands down one of my favorite. Like I know for
a fact, next year we have more people involved. Next year,
it's going to be bigger and better. But like, what
do y'all think we can add or remove to make
next year even more bigger?

Speaker 3 (41:09):
I think for sure, like somebody made a recommendation, like
I think having like a DJ fast with live music,
it's just more and so because even like for instance,
I'm looking at the videos with the music on it,
it just creates kind of a vibe atmosphere and all that.
And I feel like, you know, at that event where

(41:30):
you just have music just even given directions, Like a
lot of times when we're yelling directions, we you know,
didn't have microphone. We were just telling versus you had
a DJ has a microphone, you can say everybody just line,
everybody go to that line. And you know, just a
little bit more and makes it more interactive entertainment you
can speak to everybody, think them man, Like I say,
just having music in general, I feel like just makes

(41:50):
it a little bit something, a small step that plays
like a major part or role and make.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
What you gonna say, same thing.

Speaker 5 (42:00):
We all said the same thing, you know, like we
spoke about before. Like I think like just having I
guess like a more interactive like DJ and like making
people want to come, making an experience, make people want
to come. And I think the location we did this
year was great, you know, but I do think we
do need to focus on location so that we can

(42:21):
get more underserved people to come in because that's our audience. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
I don't know which one of y'all pointed it out
or maybe with somebody else, but where we were like,
it was a good location, but I felt like because
a lot of people were car pooling. And then dawn
on me that people were car pulling because a lot
of people don't have vehicles to get to the area.
We was that so I was like, oh, like that
kind of made me sad because I was like, all right, John,
we gotta give two turkeys per car because people were
showing like different addresses and stuff, and I was like,

(42:49):
I didn't think about that cause I'm just thinking like, well,
for one, I don't live in meph it's and not
having been home like that for me to be able
to know like where to go to whatever. But I
just thought the downtown was just a central location. But
I didn't realize that it wasn't.

Speaker 5 (43:01):
But I mean, they made it happen. They make way
to them turkeys, that's one thing I can It was
like six of them in the car once they like
we're like okay, Like but I mean, you know you
have to I guess we got we have to take
that into consideration next time. But it's a learning process.
I do believe like each year it gets better. So
you know, we're just gonna ye three. Yeah, it's already

(43:25):
December first, almost right.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
I think it'll be better next year because like, for instance,
my sister is supposed to be kind of possibly helping out,
and she kind of with what she does, she kind
of identifies errors.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
I think she kind of helped too much a little surprise.

Speaker 4 (43:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Yeah, but yeah, so the team is getting bigger, so
don't come, don't ask and you come help. We got
the team is silent.

Speaker 4 (43:51):
We don't know.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
But like you said that that was something in the
that was kind of almost live, but we didn't probably
account I know, I wouldn't accounting for where Like you said,
is we're in the area that's not a residential area, so.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
Nobody lived there. You're not really going to walk them up.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Well, the people that lived in that area, it's more
of business people, Like I say, it is people that
live there.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
People who have money.

Speaker 4 (44:16):
It's people.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
Yeah, yeah, so the only people that live there or
like if they're homeless, but it's not a real residential
Like you said, we were coming into the instance where
we had the one turkey per car because I deally
we don't want to give two three turkeys per car.
But like I said, I person did account for a lot.
Like you said, a lot of people are car pulled
and showing like.

Speaker 4 (44:34):
Hey we had I don't have a car. So it's
kind of like you can't say, hey, we're going to
help the community, and they're piling up to come to
us representing two three different families in a car. I
can't give you two.

Speaker 5 (44:46):
So but we did.

Speaker 3 (44:47):
I mean the good way that we did help is
we just told them, hey, if you circle back in line,
get back in line, and go through it that way,
you know, we're doing a fair process, we understand, but
I think we can have a better way to address
it next year.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
So yeah, and I think all so with your sister
not giving it too much away, but being who she is,
and that was my first time meet her, which don't
even understand you because IVE been knowing this nigga for
twenty plus years, but that's another story. But just her
being excited about wanting to partake and you know, make
this even bigger and better. I think that that made
me realize, like, damn, like this is really something, like
we're really doing this, like and it's literally gonna get
bigger and better. And also just having a support from

(45:20):
iHeartMedia and Memphis, like it's just so many people that
just really wanted to like support and elevate this as
much as possible. So I think that made me even
more appreciative and just made me really thankful that we
were able to pull this off.

Speaker 3 (45:34):
Last I say, I believe the gentleman's name was Brian,
the manager of the library.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
He was real helpful. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
I was going to say that for sure, Like Brian,
because shout out to Dominick, one of my podcast friends,
but he's the one that, like, you know, hit him up.
He's really cool this that. And Brian has been so
helpful and just instrumental throughout the entire process, like if
I needed anything, he even creates a drone video y'all. Like,
And I think that's what it's most important to me

(46:06):
when you're in when you're a entrepreneur and you're doing
these events and you know, just pouring back into what
God gave you a vision of it is that that
people can actually see your vision as well. And he's
just been so like hans On, like he was so exciting,
like he's ready for next year and all this other stuff.
So shout out to Brian at Constant Library.

Speaker 5 (46:23):
But yeah, and that's one thing I was gonna say too.
I think that's the difference between last year and this
year is that everybody was like passionate about it the
same way that you were. Like everybody what we're doing
is like everybody was excited. Everybody was like.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
Like people stayed from start to finished.

Speaker 5 (46:39):
They stayed from start to finish and they were just
excited and they thought it was just like such a
cool thing. So you know the fact that they had
the same the same part about it that you did,
that was that was touching.

Speaker 4 (46:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Yeah, So how many turkeys? Shouts I think we're gonna
do next year? Before we had out, I say five hundred.
I'm thinking five hundred two, But I'm like, damn, that's
gonna be a lit Yeah, we gonna.

Speaker 5 (46:59):
Need like two U hall for that.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
I was gonna say, but you know, it's a hundred.

Speaker 3 (47:06):
I said, like, not quite double, but you know, but
you know, heys five hundreds of go I'm down.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
We said we do five hundred next year. Were going
to the Strip Club, y'all were about to have I'm.

Speaker 4 (47:19):
Not is we going on? You going, Let's make ship,
let's let's make sure we're going. We don't have we celebrate.

Speaker 6 (47:28):
So we turned to me.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
That no, we're gonna all go y'all okay, but no,
thank y'all so much. This has been like, hands down,
I honestly, this has been like one of the best
days of my life. Like I had so much fun.
Like I definitely gonna start coming back home to Memphis
and giving back to Memphis because I didn't realize that
I had a lot of support back at home. So
and it feels good to be seen for all the
hard work and blood, sweat and tears. So I really

(47:54):
appreciate y'all. I appreciate those who have donated and helping
us be over two hundred family. We were able to
secure two hundred and ten turkeys, so that's amazing. So
to my donors, thank you, thank you, thank you, because
I know I was mad annoying because I was hitting
y'all up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to get these coins.
So thank y'all so much. Like I said, shout out

(48:15):
to the iHeartMedia team in Memphis from Leon Big, Sue,
Mike Evans, Stan Bell, and Sherry Mackie. Also the guy
who was helping us like he was so hospitable taking
our pictures and stuff. I think his name is Dewan. Yeah,
I know, he was amazing. Shout out to him. Also,

(48:36):
shout out to all the volunteers. My girl, miss Linda,
she brought out the neighborhood child. She brought out about
twenty people to come help us. Shout out to my
nephew Malik. Also Shout out to Granny Frere Podcasts. I
think we wanna be on that podcast and I come
back home again soon. But they were super helpful. That
was my first time meeting them and they were just like,
we just heard about you and we just so proud

(48:57):
of you. You from our home. So shout out to
for helping us out and make sure y'all listen to
the podcast. Shout out to La Trees, Jossy Pool and
also last from not least Brian from Constant Library.

Speaker 6 (49:08):
Yeah yeah, good job's good job.

Speaker 5 (49:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
So thank y'all so much for supporting and until next year,
y'all for the third annual p XG Turkey.

Speaker 4 (49:23):
Celebrate together next year.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
All right, y'all.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
Say that.

Speaker 5 (49:29):
Mysel.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Make sure you have a good time, y'all.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
