Speaker 2 (00:23):
Welcome back to Quiet Please, Mel and Kira here, coming
off of a big week for both of us. We're
back in the thick of travel crazy. But we're still
here for our listeners, aren't we.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Well we are.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
I was in beautiful Cincinnati. It actually was beautiful. I
must say, the weather was stunning.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Lots of fans of the pod.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Kira really, Oh my god, what they're saying? Tell me everything.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
No, they just think we're great. They think that we're
a great dynamic. We are obviously love you. Yeah, they
just think it's awesome. And then the whole of like
the Cincinnati University women's team are there and they were
saying to me that I met I happened to just
kind of cross paths with a couple of them, asked
for a photo and they're like, oh, assistant coach is
obsessed with your podcast, so she makes us listen to

(01:09):
it everywhere?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
What do you mean makes us listen to it?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Thank you. That was my argument.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
But they should be so thrilled to listen exactly. Shout
out to the it's the Cincinnati.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Cincinnati I guess so they didn't. They didn't really tell me.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
They were kind of speaking very fast and Cincinnati.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Okay, well, shout out to the Cincinnati women.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
They're awesome. Anyway, they're awesome. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
I met quite a few of the you know, the
players on there, so they were good.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Oh yeah, they were lovely.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
How was your week?

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Well?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I was in NAPA, which was a delight because I
was close to home. Any event you can drive to
is like major morale booster. I went home a couple
of nights. I got to see Andrew I. Yeah, it
was great. And the setup there is they have you
stay on site, so it's like walking to work. It's

(02:03):
just in between stuff. I was able to go to
my room like a civilized human being and just like
take a second. I can't I can't tell you how
great that part was. The golf tournament was also great.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
So it's just a new golf tournament.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
No, no, no, they have always had the NAPA event.
It's just a new sponsor. Okay, that's what I con
sponsor pro core.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, yep, yep.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Yeah, they're a.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Building software like a construction software company.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Oh cool. Yeah, Marina, that's a bit smart than us,
I think. Kira, Well, I.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Mean we just don't do software. We're personality hires.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah that's true. Yeah, that is true. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
So great episode on tap today for everybody. We're going
to get into our weeks on tours. We both had
really fun weeks covering golf, and then we're going to
bring you our long awaited Ryder Cup deep dive epp. So,
so if you're getting pumped for the Ryder Cup or
you don't know anything about it, we will break it

(03:04):
all down for you in a really easy way. When
when I say we, I mean Mel and Yeah. So
that's going to be great. So we're all getting excited
for the Rider Cup next week, where both Mel and
I will be on site.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
I can't believe it starting next.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Week, I know.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
But yes, tell me.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Mel about the crazy finish on the LPGA.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Our very own Charlie Hill, one last friend of the pod.
She actually so I just quick another Charlie story. So
I saw her on Wednesday and I asked how she was,
and she was talking to me about like her angle
ankle tendant. She had a Grade three tear. This is
only about two months, not even I think it was

(03:43):
about five weeks ago. They said she'd be out for
nine weeks, but she managed to be able to tip
balls again after three weeks, and that was only five
weeks ago. Anyway, I was talking to her and I
was asking her how her ankle was, and then I
was just basically talking about, like, we should really get
you on the podcast, like it'd be really funny, blah
blah blah blah blah. She was in really good spirits

(04:04):
and she went, o, yeah, I'm going to tell some
of your dirty secrets. And I was like, I don't
really have any dirty secrets, and she was and she
said something what she say She was like, oh, bet,
people don't know that you've said with more men than
I have.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
And I was like, no, I haven't, and she was like,
yeah you have.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I'm like, so, anyway, she's probably gonna talk about things
like that in the pub, which you're completely entruy better perfect.
She was in great spirits, she was hit the ball great. No,
she ended up winning. But the problem is her and
Gino titical one number one, Gino has won the ship.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
This would have been the first time we.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Would have had a multiple winner on the LPGA Tour
this season, which just fucking n's to think about.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Gino.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Okay, they both hit the green on eighteen for two.
Charlie's one shot back going down eighteen. Gina has an
eagle put, Charlie has an eagle put. Do you know,
missus Her eagle puts about four feet Charlie misses her
eagle put, So Guinia's got four futter to win the
golf tournament still and she ends.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Forore futter futter futter, Yeah, but she.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Ends up three putting that, so she four putted the
last and Arlie ends up winning by one, which is
with a birdie with a two pert buddy, which was
It's kind of hard to see that actually, because I'm
obviously extremely happy for Charlie, but I don't know, I
sports brutal. I felt I really felt for Gino. I

(05:25):
felt I really felt for Gino.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
It's like, Charlie obviously deserves the win, but it's kind
of unfortunate that she won that way. She didn't win
because she went out and just beat Gino. She won
because Gino kind of Gino lost it had a yeah,
you know, an aneurysm or whatever it happened to her.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yeah, I don't know what happened.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
I've never seen Gino do that ever, ever, ever, ever,
So how was she after? Just to be honest, she
kind of just walked off.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
She obviously get Charlie at Hugs.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Said congratulations, said congrats to Adam, and then she just
I think she just wants to get a fuck out there,
to be honest with you, which I don't blame.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah, but yeah, it was a bit.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Listen, it was a dramatic finish and which is obviously,
you know, entertaining, but a little bit it.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Was great for forgot.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I mean, sport is brutal, but you know, somebody has
to lose, and if someone's going to win and not
be a multiple winner, then you know that's not going
to change that storyline.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Charlie Hall is a pretty great person.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah, to all that gap and I was listening to
some of her press conference stuff and she's like, you know,
pain is.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Just a mindset in It's like.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Everything I want to be in her head for like
ten minutes.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
I don't, but I do.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I think honestly, I am an admirer from afar of
just just a legend as you would say, No.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
She really is.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
But yeah, so Charlie got it done, which look is
the world's bare place when Charlie Haill wins golf tournaments.
So extremely happy for Charles and Atsie. But yeah, it
was a weird one to watch, really, yeah, really weird.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
Did you have fun walking and doing your on course things?

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Yeah, I feel like I think I've said this to
you before, Like I'm obviously switching rolls a little bit,
like just you know, finding my feet obviously. Still it's
funny I can notice, like I feel I'm getting a
lot more comfortable the more I'm doing it. And yeah,
this was definitely the most comfortable bit on course. And
I'm obviously going away again this week to Arkansas doing
on course as well. So I don't know, I love

(07:32):
on course. It's very different, It is very different. I
just I love kind of watching the goal shot and
setting out for the audience.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
I really enjoy doing that.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Plus I think you're still not very far removed from
having played in professional golf, so it's probably really nice
for you as a way to make the transition to
like see everybody and still feel in it and be
a part of it in a way, but more in
your own terms.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Yeah, one hundred percent. We went to amazing. Look it's
forty five minutes north of Cincinnati. If anyone wants a
good restaurant's called Carlo anyway, Carlo and Henley or something.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Anyway, it's a maybe we need the name for a recommendation.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Give me a second.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Anyway, This state restaurant is out of this world, like unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Carlo and Johnny by Jeff Ruby.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
We love Carlo and Johnny.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
It's one of like really cool atmospheres.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Obviously, I didn't bring the appropriate clothing because I didn't
know we're going to a nice dinner, So it was
a bit fancy, Like.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
I probably shouldn't have.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
I just wore a T shirt, and I probably if
I knew it was gonna be that fancy, I would
have made a bit more of an effort.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Do you would have worn your fancy your T shirt?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Like I had fancy T shirt, like not one that
probably had a stain on it for the night.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
So the clothing that we're operating on for both days
is T shirt fancy or T shirt. I know, I'm
easiest T shirt.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
It's so funny, excepted all these clothes thinking oh my god,
I can't wait to wear that, and I never do.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
I literally wear black, white, and gray T shirts.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Well, especially when you're traveling, it's like, yeah, I'm not
going to be a new stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
I'm not packing any nice stuff. Like I can't be bother.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
I don't do it.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
I used to.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
I used to try so hard, and now I just
don't give.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
If I go out to dinner, that's already like a massive,
huge deal. I don't really do any of that.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
So it is funny, isn't it Like you're on the road,
I'm not actually, I just I can't be asked anything.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
It's so it's so funny. But so, yeah, that was
my week. But I would hardly recommend that Restaurant's very good.
That's just very good. Carlo and Johnny, Johnny and Carlo,
Carlo and Johnny. Yeah, you used toeak casino.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Wow, it used to be like, what was it cool
when you wasn't allowed to be a casino and it
was a casino the cops raided it.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
It was it during the Prohibition era when maybe like
alcohol ties. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
It was like, that's kind of what it feels like.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Yeah, a speakeasy, like a speakeasy, yeah yeah, yeah, like
an underground scene, that kind of thing.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
So got it.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
It's definitely worth going.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
So okay, well maybe I'll agree endorsement.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
I don't know, but they I don't know if we're
going to find ourselves forty five minutes north of Cincinnati anytimes.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
No, you never know, you never know, never, No, okay, So.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Napa, Yeah, yeah, my week with the United States Ryder
Cup team and uh Napa, which is glorious and beautiful
as always. I didn't go to any of the restaurants,
you just literally yeah yeah, but I live here, so

(10:57):
it's it's not like that big of a deal for me,
which is a very lucky thing to be able to say.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Scotty wins again.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Shock.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
On the first day he shot like two under or
four und or something like that. It wasn't, you know, great,
And I just remember sitting in the media center thinking
he's gonna freaking win this thing, like he's just and
then sure enough every day he got his scoring got better.
It was he'd never he'd never played the golf tournament
never seen the golf course before, and of course final

(11:32):
day was just you know, poor Ben Griffin. Not for me.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
Ben's fine, but.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
It just was like inevitable that Jackson Coyven, who was
the amateur, didn't really get much going and then Ben
Ben started with three birdies and then made a bogie
and then kind of I think he finally made a
birdie at some point in the back nine, and he
three putted on eighteen to miss playoff, which is very

(12:02):
uncharacteristic for Ben.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
He's a really good.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Putter, so you know, he wins again, Scotty wins again.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
But it was so.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
Funny because Scotty was in the second to last.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Group, so he went into scoring and then because Ben
was still finishing out, Scotty decided he was going to
go in the locker room and he just like disappeared.
And so usually when someone is about to win or
maybe going into a playoff, you know, we at least
have a camera on them to be able to see
their reaction or see their initial realization that they'd won.

(12:34):
But he had just disappeared into the locker room. So
we're all kind of standing out there, like is he
going to come out for the interview or like what
are we doing? And with five minutes left to the show,
the producer's like, where is Scotty?

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Do you have I hats that?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Like, like, I'm not going to go into the men's
locker room and drag him out for this.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
He wants to do the interview, do it? If not,
then like whatever, But he did.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
He did come out, he did, the interview was great
and everything was good.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
But funny week, I.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Feel like his son is literally growing up every single
Thomas am, Yeah, he's so cute.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
That kid has.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Been in lots of pictures. Yes, that kid has no
idea what's going on?

Speaker 3 (13:20):
No, no, you don't did so.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
But yeah, I got to hang with Meredith and Bennett
a little bit while we were waiting for the finish,
and you know, just a regular family trying to run
after a one and a half year old. Yeah, I
know you can relate to m hm. But it was
interesting seeing all the Ryder Cup US Ryder Cup guys.
They had a lot of off course stuff where they

(13:43):
were all hanging out together, and then the tournament put
them together for the first two days. I don't know
what Keigan Bradley was trying to gain from those pairings.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
But I imagine something.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
But ke Keigan doesn't really say much when you ask
him about this type of stuff, and he basically just
was like, yeah, like you know, we're we're we basically
have everything figured out. This is all about getting to
know each other, getting that team mojo. We'll get into
this with our storylines. But last time, the US Ryder
Cup team hadn't played most of them hadn't played a
tournament like five weeks going into Rome, and that was

(14:17):
a big point of contention. So this time they were like, Okay,
we need to play something before and NAPA is like, obviously,
it's beautiful, it's a great place.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
They can have great dinners. Who doesn't want to go
to Napa.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
So they rented like a big house and they didn't
all stay in the same house, but they all had
this house to like go to.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Every day if they wanted to.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
And it was like the sickest house ever in the
middle of a figure type of thing.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Must be nice on your Bride Cup budget, Yeah, dude.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Yeah. So let's start with the doing a little bit
of recap from twenty twenty three. Some of the big storylines.
If people don't remember The first one I have was
even before the Ryder Cup, was Zach Johnson not picking
Keegan Bradley to be on the Ryder Cup team.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
Do you remember that?

Speaker 4 (15:09):
And I do remember that call, and I do remember that.
I do remember that. That's quite a significant part. Am
I right in saying he also didn't pick Bryson.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
He played in twenty eighteen and twenty twenty one. Yep, Okay,
so no Bryson. But I think that I think that
I can't remember exactly who Zack Johnson. I think it
was Sam Burns that got that last spot, and Sam
Burns also got that last spot this time around too.
Sam just always kind of sneaks in there.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Look, I don't know if I'd ever get the opportunity
to do it. I would like to think maybe one day,
but it must be bloody. It's so ill being a captain.
I've always said it's like being a coach, right, very
rarely you're going to be the hero, but you can
always be the zero.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Tendencies?

Speaker 4 (15:58):
If they win the Rider Cup, it's the players. If
you lose the Writerer cup's captain's fault. Yeah, Like in
most of the narratives like you know what I mean,
Like it's never really so yeah, I was just saying
that these phone calls must be absolutely brutal. Like I've
actually spoke to like a couple of like so Home
Cup captains and they're like, they are absolutely Brital to
be fair, Like, it must be such a hard decision

(16:19):
for the picks.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah, because everybody you're making your yeah, everybody's good, and
you're making the ultimate decision to like to exclude somebody,
which social use is. So it's kind of.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
Mean, no, no, it's like Jim, it's class gym class.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly exactly.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
It's kind of like, I mean, who knows what I
feel like in the case of last times US Ryder
Cup team, I feel like it was also a bit
of a popularity contest and like who is in that Bros. Crew?
Yeah yeah, yeah, it seems like this time around it's
a bit more merit based. M hm.

Speaker 5 (16:59):
So yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
So anyways, Zach Johnson ultimately did not pick Kegan Bradley.
There was all this uproar around Keegan, and part of
that uproar is probably what led to Keegan's being chosen
as the Ryder Cup captain now, which bless him is
a bit of a tough scene because he would have
been on the team were he not chosen as captain.

(17:23):
So a bit of a bummer for Kegan because I
know he would have loved to actually play on the
Ryder Cup. But he's doing just fine. I think that
he's enjoying his role. But I did when I talked
to him at NAPA, he just every time I talked
to him, he'd be like, this is so weird. I'm
just standing here watching the golf. So he wasn't playing
in the tournament, yeah, as.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Was does Tommy How many picks is he? He has
like six picks or six? Yeah? Okay, yeah, yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
So we mentioned the Americans were unprepared going into Rome,
or at least that was the storyline that they were
unprepared going into Rome. Most of them had not played
in five weeks and showed up a bit out of sorts.
And meanwhile, the European team had played probably went worth yeah,

(18:12):
and seemed a lot more cohesive by the time they
showed up.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
I would agree. Irish Open.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
I think they paid Irish Open and the pad went
worth yeah. So they got a couple more tournaments under
their belt for sure.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Mm hm. So NAPO is kind of the answer to that.
We'll see if that actually works this time. If they win,
then maybe they'll keep coming to NAPA every two years.
It'd be great for that tournament, it would.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
It would.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
So go hat Gate, pudd In. Do you remember hat
Gate with Patrick? Can't they? Oh?

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Yeah, okay, So do you want me to go with
this or do you want to go go for it?

Speaker 5 (18:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
So apparently there was a rumor going around and it
was a pretty strong room. But I actually don't think
this is true. Do you think it's true? Anyway, I'll
talk about it first. The reason Patrick Cantley didn't wear
a hat rider coats because they were he wasn't getting paid.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Okay, yeah, now I would.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
I'm going to give Patrick the benefit of doubt that
he's not that much of a prick that he would
do that.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
And I've always thought that.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
Like, I'm like, surely not because the players do get paid, right.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Well, they're they're getting paid now formally, which is a
new thing.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
They definitely got allowances. They must have done, because we
get allowances.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
I yeah, but I don't know that it was anything
like massive.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Well no no, no, no no, no normal golf no same
for us, Like it's it's basically just to fly like
a mements every family over. So anyway, the crowd, obviously
being from Europe, we love a chant and we got
on his ass pretty hard basically, which was pretty deserving.
I think now I'm gonna be honest about Patrick Cantley.

(19:59):
He's probably the one player on the US team that
kind of scares me a little bit with the way
that he one managed himself in Rome, like the way
that he played against Rory and the Saturday foursomes I
thought was just ridiculous, the two perts that he hold
on seventeen eighteen to win the match, and then I

(20:22):
just think that he's so cold blooded in those situations
that he's very dangerous to me as a European. Like
he's won both his singles that he's ever played, like
he's just he is. He finds something at ridy cup
and it's almost become a little bit like a Poulter,
Like the other side absolutely hates him, the other fans

(20:42):
absolutely hate him, but he delivers.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Yeah, I wish I could go through life with the
absolute just do not give a shit about what anybody
thinks about me of Patrick Cantley. Yeah, the absolute just
one thousand percent commitment to just himself and what he
wants to do and what serves him in that moment

(21:08):
makes him so dangerous, Like he does not care at
all about you, about your feelings about you want what
you want him to do, we want him to say,
we want him to wear And that's why I kind
of that whole being paid thing is just like I
don't know, that's such a weird rumor story, like who knows,

(21:28):
But I just don't see Patrick, like ever putting that
much thought into something like that because he just doesn't
doesn't care, Like he is so cold blooded like he
does not I mean, he's outside of all of this.
Patrick's always been very nice to be SOA's too generous
this time.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
You know, he's like like a normal dude.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
He's not like a serial killer, but on the golf course,
he is a serial.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Killer a little bit, babe baby.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
But anyway, that whole thing, that hatgate thing led to
his caddy, Joe Lacavo, who famously caddied for Tiger for
a very long time. You know, they they got into
the whole hat thing, and so Joe was waving his
hat on I guess it would have been eighteen Green
on that Saturday, and kind of was getting.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
The crowd all riled up while Rory.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Was lining up his putt, and Rory really took a
lot of issue with that, found it to be extremely disrespectful,
and it ended up with Rory yelling at Bones, who
was also a big famous caddy caddy for Phil for
a long time he was cuddying for Justin Thomas at
the time, screaming at Bones in the parking lot and

(22:39):
it looked like he was.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
Like, you know, let me at him, let me at him.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
And then Shane Lowry, who's like twice the size of Rory, just.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
Like pushes him into the car and that was that.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
But yeah, one of the one of the more iconic
scenes from a recent Rider Cup.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
And I actually enjoyed that.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
But a lot of that it's amazing, isn't it, because
you don't really see these lads like lose the cool
very much Like that's the whole thing with golf, isn't it.
Like he calm and mindful and all that stuff, and
then you actually see the competitive juices come out, only
really at Ryder Cup.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
I think, well, yeah, because that's what it's like to
be on a team. I feel like you've seen that
sort of You're so much more like ice hockey. They
kick the crap out of each other. Football they got
get into fights all the time. Basketball are in screaming matches,
they're all doing I mean, golf is just it's.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Not a contact sport.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
And yeah, yeah, it's just like yeah, if you're getting
in yeah, if you're getting into that mind space, then
you're not going to do well on the golf course.
But with the team aspect, it brings out this different
level which people would probably have if they played like
soccer or something.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Yeah, I would agree. So he's probably the most dangerous
one I think on your.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Team, Patrick shall we can you mel explain the format? Yeah,
for anyone that doesn't understand and what the Ryder Cup
format is.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
So there's twelve players in each team. Friday morning it
is four groups going out of four players. Okay, so
it's two players each team, and the first morning is
foursomes that's alternate shot.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Okay, got it perfect.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Then the second afternoons is you know, whatever, the what
do you record it?

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Sessions? Second session.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
Same, it's four groups going out again, which would be
what yeah, so again two people for each team against
each other, and it's four ball, so basically four ball
better ball. So if me and Kia are playing together,
Kira makes a three, I make a four. Her school
counts okay, which very fun format, I must say.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
But we each play our own ball.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Each play your own ball. Four sames.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
You only played the first ball because you play antinate shots,
so you played the one ball. Sorry, but you can
change ball every hale, so like some girls do it
a soulheim for like path threes.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
And you're switching off of who is making the t
shots or the same person is making the T shirt
every time.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
You alternate t shirts. So if I'm off, evens your
odds no matter what. Okay, okay, so yeah, so four
sims the first, you know, the morning sessions are certainly
the most difficult, Like if you're playing Pond is not
on it or you're not on it, it makes it
significantly harder. And then four ball you have to it's
a birdie first in the afternoon, like you have to

(25:33):
make birdies otherwise you're going to lose your match.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
And then on.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
Sunday, everybody plays, So that's twelve twelve players play against
the other twelve players.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
So you do the Friday and Saturday. It's the same
thing both days. Yeah, morning in the morning, four ball.
On the afternoon, four.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Matches are four sims in the morning, four matches of
four ball in the afternoon. Same again on Saturday, and
then Sunday it's just twelve singles, you know, man versus
man and women versus woman or whatever you're doing.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
So, yeah, so everybody gets to play a match on
on this on the you.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Can just yeah, yeah, yeah, technically you could just play
the Sunday.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
But yeah, which happens sometimes.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
It has happened.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
Yeah, like usually they'll play minimum of two but I've
known loads of players just to play like one four
ball match and then a singles match.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
So and some people will play all five sessions.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Oh yeah, yeah, if you your best player, you kind
of if they're not feeling tired.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
But this is the tricky things is draining.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
You're playing thirty six holes, not thirty six but you're
playing two rounds.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
A day for the first two days. And the problem
is that people don't know.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
With Solheim and with Ryder, Cup is that it is
probably the most ruling week of your life, and not
from a golf standpoint. The amount of we obviously have
practice rounds and things like that, and we're kind of
constricted to a certain time because you're trying to get
both teams to have equal amount of time on the
golf course. The captain will usually allow the players to

(27:00):
take a bit of control of that, but they do
certainly want to kind of play around with some pairings,
for sure. But it is the functions like you have
photo shoots, which takes fucking forever, by the way, like
you're it's so no cure. It's literally the worst ever.
It is. Honestly, the Gallant dinner the gardener is my

(27:22):
worst time in my life.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Ah no, no, best you get to dress up and
looks so chic.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
No, that's why I don't like it.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
This is why I didn't play professional golf, because I
would have been really excited, thrived to dress up and
not focus on the golf.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Well, the problem is is, yeah, it's it's not too bad.
I mean, I've actually setting some really cool people and
like got to have really good conversations with people. But
it's just you know, I'm not a big fan of
sit down dinners anyway, Like I might not feel like
a stake and I've got you know what I mean, Like,
I just I don't like not having options, so it's

(28:01):
quite draining. It's usually like a big bit of a
bus journey into the goal of dinner as well, which.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Is a pain.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
It's a whole thing like we've got you know, you've
got like captain stuff, you've got rules meeting as well
has to be done, but not players favorite hour and
a half which is mandatory, and then you've got you've
got just got a load of functions basically.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
But the photo shoot hera, oh my god.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
The photos are the worst because you're literally having I'm
not joking, you stood there and you're.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Probably having.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
Between I would say, honestly easily fifty different groups of
people coming in for photos like which has to be done.
And I totally I'm not saying it's I understand it
and I appreciate it and welcome it. But you are
literally having twenty, like fifty different people coming in all
the time, and you just stood there having.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
You're taking pictures with different dignitaries.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
And yeah, sponsors separe.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
Yeah, Elie t LPGA and you also do it like
just European team and then you do European and an
American and then the American and little sneaky home game
tip is when it is your home game.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
So if we're playing in.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
America, the Americans usually go first, so they get to
have literally they just do photos for an hour and
fifteen minutes. But we've got wait an hour and fifteen
minutes and then get our photos done. Yeah, but we
have to be there at the same time, so we
have some together, so we're there twice as long.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Rude.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
It's very rude, isn't it. But we do the same
thing in Europe.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Yeah, So it's just it's just a grueling week, like
you don't really have a lot of time for yourself,
Like Charlie says, it's the one week where she doesn't
see me at all.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
M hm.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
Well, for a really individual sport.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
It's probably also just jarring to all of a sudden
be told what to do, what to wear where.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Yeah. Yeah, I'm bringing her up and it's kind of
ironic because she just won't.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
But it's like taming a wild animal with Charlie Hill.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Like she's not in half the photo She's likely not
in half, oh darling.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
It's just things like that. And then like it's just like.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
This is my message time.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
I know.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Literally, she's like, well, I'll go and e liptical in
the Geese.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
But yeah, and like the best thing is when you
just get back to the hotel and you just go
on your team room. You chefs there and you just
chill and you just hang out with the team and
it's just the best because you usually got games in
there and stuff. And but yes, it is an extremely,
extremely grueling week. So back to your point, playing five
is a big ass. But I'm telling you right now,
if my captain needed me to play five, you play five.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
So Stty's going to play five.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
Well, yes he should be, but actually his records not great.
He's kind of a bit like Tiger, like one of
the ones don't do great ridy cuts, which I find
quite odd.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Okay, well we'll get into that one. We're going to
do the whole, the whole deep dive. We thought it
might be fun to go through each team and every
single person and give thoughts, okay, and that way people

(31:10):
are very familiar with everybody. They're going to be watching
on their TV screens or not if they're sitting. But okay,
so let's start. Would you like to start with Europe?

Speaker 3 (31:21):
We can start with America if you would like.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Okay, well, I was trying to be you know, accommodating
to Okay, find this to Europe. Okay, great, all right,
So let's start with the with the captain Luke Donald.
Luke Donald back again, returning captain, probably just going to
do the exact same thing as wrong.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Yes, And for my understanding, his wife is quite.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
Bolved, Diane.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Diane, He's quite involved and not not in a bad way.
I think that she's one of those personalities and I'm
not I hope I'm not speaking out turn head. That's
kind of like no stone unturned, and I think she
wants to make it an experience for everybody. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
And she's very thoughtful in what she does. She's got
a lot of good ideas, and I think that she

(32:08):
compliments Luke a lot, like I think Luke do just
take a lot of that opinion with him, do you
know what I mean? Because Luke's like not the loudest
player in the planet, Like he's quite he's got quite
a he's got very calming, very calm demeanor, very calm demeanor. Yeah,
but the players absolutely love him, and listen, he did

(32:29):
a great job in Rome, so he knows what he's doing.
He's been part of many Ryder Cups himself, and he's
got He's had some fantastic captains and you kind of
pick up on things that you like about a captain
and I feel like he did a good job at
that in Rome. So it's I'm guessing he's gonna basically,
he's got a blueprint, hasn't he And he's going to
do the same thing this year, hopefully and hope that

(32:49):
there's a chance that we get it done.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
If everything goes well, even if they don't win, and
things are still you know, great, everybody has a great experience.
He kind of left no stone turned and did a
great job. I feel like I could see him being
the captain for the third time in a row.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
I don't know if anyone's done that.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
I have to look that up.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
But he's young enough and he's not playing yep, at
least not at that level anymore. Yeah, you know what
else is he gonna do?

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Yeah? No, I agree with you. I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
I think that he I think that he does have
the blueprint, and I think that he's very he seems
like quite an analytic kind of guy, like as well,
Like I think even as a player, he was pretty
into his stats, and you know, I think like he
was a bit like Matts Fitzpatrick and like this is
he comes across a little bit like that. And I've
heard him say a few things and so he'll be

(33:42):
taking a lot of notes from from Rome. Even though
we weren't there were probably still things that we could
have improved on as always. So yeah, I mean this
is a fucking whole different challenge though, I'm sorry, a
whole different challenge, but we'll see.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Yeah, that'll be fun, okay. Rory he won recently his
home National Open in Ireland the walk off eagle putt,
which was crazy. He then also had that walk off
eagle putt at Wentworth, so it seems like the putting
is from.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
Long range is going well.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
But Rory has gone from Ryder Cup hater as a
young lad to Ryder Cup stan and seems to love it.

Speaker 5 (34:27):
Almost more than anyone.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Now.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Yeah, this is his eighth one, and he famously cried yeah.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
Is it really Jesus, that's crazy?

Speaker 4 (34:37):
He famously cried in twenty twenty one when we got
absolutely destroyed at Wiston Straits, And I think that it's funny.
This is what I love is like he's become like
you said, he kind of slacked it off when he
first played in Wales back in twenty ten, and now
he gets it and he's become very much the spine
and leader of the team.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Though he's not necessarily oldest, he's become that person.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
And I think the cool thing for me is when
I saw him get emotion in twenty one and you
see how passionate he gets. You saw our passionate got
with Patrick Readers well in twenty sixteen at hazelr teen.
These guys have gazillion dollars, right, and like you said,
they're not really playing for anything other than passion and
pride that week, and the amount of raw motion that

(35:20):
comes out of these guys and especially Rory is really inspiring.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
Listen. So he's going to be He's the leader of
the pact.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
In my opinion, he is the I think Luke can
lean on him quite a bit and he's you know,
he is the leader. He's the captain. It's like not captain, sorry,
I mean like a football captain, you know.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Ah he's yeah, he's the squad captain.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Yes, yeah, he's got the C.

Speaker 5 (35:46):
On his uniform.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Yes, got it? Ye got it? Yeh?

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Look at me?

Speaker 3 (35:51):
So good at my Oh wow, it's just so sparty, okay.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Shane Lowry, he has not had a great year this year,
at least not by his standards, and he had a
quote recently that said, listen, if if we win the
Ryder Cup at Bethpage, I don't really care about what
happened this season. I forget about all of that and
it's a great year if we will.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Yeah, listen.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
He's always busiers and as well, so I would imagine
that to be a pairing as well. I think I
love Shane. I absolutely love Shane. He gets it as well.
He's a little bit more not laid back, but he's
got a little bit more humor to him than I
would say, like a lot of the boys. And that's
what I think he brings in, is that comfortability, like

(36:37):
he'll make everyone feel very welcome. And I absolutely love
Shane lay in the team room.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
He's one of my favorites to just you know he's
walking on.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
The range, just a normal guy, likes to shoot the ship,
all right, Matt.

Speaker 4 (36:51):
Fitzpatrick, Right, well fuck me, okay, listen.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
I think I'm sad.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
I listen. I I love Fitzy. He's British, right, he's
a bit nerdy and he right, but part from that,
just a bit nerdy.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Listen.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
He's played this is going to be his fourth one.
His record is fucking awful. It's dog shit.

Speaker 5 (37:20):
So in three Rider clubs he's only had one point.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Yeah, I lost all his singles. I mean, I think
that's a bit of a concern.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
He actually hasn't played great either. He's played a bit
better the last five or six months.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Yeah, Listen, I would love Fitzpatrick to play great at
beth Page because I think it'd be so ironic that
he's definitely the biggest nerd on the team and he
would just take down like the New York fans.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
I think would be hilarious.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
Like I'd absolutely love that narrative because they're the most
brilliant fans on the planet. Like, not a bad way,
but they can be quite Heckley.

Speaker 5 (37:52):
Well, he's got that.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Patrick can't weigh is about him? Where it's just doesn't
doesn't compute. It doesn't break through that New York because
he's just so sanitized about his approach where you know,
the words won't land.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
No bless him. So yeah, that's my thought.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
I hope he does well, but he's not got a
great record the lad and bless him. But at least
he can slip into his sketches in the morning. All right, next,
fuck me.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Okay, this is probably my favorite person on this Ryder
Cup team is Tyrell Hat Did you listen to his
four minutes of talking about his night out drinking after
he got the phone call that he had gotten the
pick and he's spewing everywhere.

Speaker 5 (38:44):
I just I just live for Tyrol.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
I also live for Tyrol.

Speaker 4 (38:50):
I think he's one of the most entertaining, fantastic, authentically
himself blokes. And that's in the game and that's exactly
what we need. And he fucking loves it as well.
And he's an unbelievable player. He's got a pretty good record.
This will be his fourth one. But I mean, my
dream is to do is to like be a walker

(39:13):
in Tyrol's group, like commentate on teals for the broadcast
for the broadcast because oh that's swearing.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
I would love it.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
Oh my god, that would be so epic.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
I literally would love it. That's like, my that's on
my bucket list.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Well to manifest that manifest that NBC powers that be
that let's get mel reed in there.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
I love Tyrol. I love to the fact that he
gets wasted. He's just allowed to me love.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
I just loved it. In that press conference, he decided
it was important to go through the exact drinks he
had and how many, Like what is an almond sour?
That sounds sounds grossing? No, that sounds like mel In
twenty thirteen.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
Yes, very very good.

Speaker 4 (39:56):
Yeah, well it definitely was me in twenty thirteen, twenty fifteen, Yeah,
very good.

Speaker 5 (40:02):
So gross.

Speaker 7 (40:05):
It was like like him detailing the like exact places
where he puked and like scraping the sheets off of
the bed and like leaving a note for housekeeping saying sorry.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
I mean I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
That is absolutely all, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
It's so vile.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
But the fact that you would sit there with a
smile on his face in a press conference and say
the words do.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
You really want to know? And then obviously.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Obviously that's a journalist. Of course, I don't know any
detail you're willing to give.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
I had five glasses of wine and then I went
to gin Tonic and then I went to this, went
to that.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
I mean to be fair, that was a lot of
the lad. Oh disgust him.

Speaker 6 (40:42):
Even Tyrrel has his limits exactly from one British lad
to another. Tommy Fleetwood tom tom.

Speaker 4 (40:56):
So love Tommy. Look, this is his fourth one and
he's got a really good record. He's won seven matches
out of six fifteen, yeah, fifteen, so he's on a
winning streak.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
He finally won, finally won the FedEx. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
And he's one of them people that I feel even
the best page that will have and the American fans
like they're going to heckle everyone. I feel like even
the American fans love Tommy enough not to.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
Have that much, do you know what I mean? So
I feel like that's where he's going to be.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
He I think he's going to be a really good
event actually, and they compared with Rory, they've been really
good pairing as well.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Fleetwood Mac there you go. Oh that's right, that's the nickname.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
I have a feeling that the people at Beth Page
are going to be screaming.

Speaker 5 (41:42):
Trying my hardest. Oh, try my hardest.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
Oh my god, they should apparently that's so thank you
for him.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Yeah, if you don't know what we're talking about. Anna Jackson,
the one and only Anna Jackson, interviewed Tommy's son at
the Part three contest with the Masters this year, and
he was so adorable and just said, you know.

Speaker 8 (42:02):
I'm not going to make it this year, trying my hardest.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
It's just really hardest. He sounds like just like Tommy
when he said it.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Yeah, Oh so that's gonna be taught me.

Speaker 5 (42:13):
He's a chant from the people of bed Page.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
Yeah, all right, justin Rose Winners lay on the PGA Tour.

Speaker 3 (42:21):
Winner, he taught me that.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
Yeah, he's forty five years old. This is also it's
going to be a seventh a.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
Really experienced Ryder Cup team.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:32):
And he played so fucking good in Rome, And I
think that like people kind of counted him out, probably
like maybe toy like because he missed it. He missed
the twenty one one. She played eighteen, missed the twenty
one one. I think people, I don't know if he's
going to play one again. Well, don't count him out.
He then plays twenty three and he was actually like
pretty fucking good in twenty three in Rome as well.

Speaker 3 (42:55):
Again, he also brings a lot more than just his
golf game.

Speaker 4 (42:58):
He brings a lot of experience to the team, a
lot of comfortability to the team. Justin Roses one of
the nicest blokes I've ever met, like, and he's just
lovely so and his wife Kate. So I love the
fact that they've got I always feel like in a
team you need some sort of like anchorage of like
an older like has been around so many different generational players,

(43:20):
and he's that person like iconic. So I love that
Justin Roses is uh, it's plain like.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
He's not going to panic in a chance difficult situation.
He's seen it all, been there, done that, exactly exactly.
He'll be a good sounding board m hm. Rookie on
the team replacing his twin brother is Rasmus Voyguard. I
still can't get over the fact, like, what are the
odds that the person that gets replaced on the team

(43:51):
is literally genetically a copy of the other person.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
It's nuts, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (43:55):
It's so bizarre? But love that.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
It's been a good little year for Erasmus and I'm
sure Nikolay will be there and yeah, they'll just switch
rolls this time.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
Yeah exactly. I mean it's just I mean, that's just
well to me, but carry on. I'm excited to see
how he does. And I think you're right, Nichola will
help him a lot.

Speaker 5 (44:14):
Yeah exactly.

Speaker 4 (44:15):
So it's just a tough place to be as a
rookie though. Yeah, that's page Black like it's away game
is tough and nothing it is, and especially near New
York is just going to be.

Speaker 8 (44:24):
But he has that Danish like, not coldness, but but reserved.
He's just this little reserved Danish man who who will
be like, well.

Speaker 5 (44:36):
That was rude, and then you'll continue on.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
That's what I imagine, because yeah, it's personality to be
in my head. I'm sure it's much more developed than that.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
I mean, he's still going to be shaking like a
shitting dog on the first two.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Oh yeah, okay, yeah, but he'll be shaking like a
what shitting dog?

Speaker 5 (44:54):
Okay, you like that no matter what? Yeah, there's that, okay.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
Uh, Ludwig he won Genesis earlier this year.

Speaker 5 (45:05):
I was there for that.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
He's just playing it last week he was playing last week.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
Yeah, it's been a it's been an okay load big year.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
Mm hmm, yeah, I mean that ship Okay.

Speaker 4 (45:17):
When he made write a Cup last time at Rome,
did he how did he like not not played a
major yet?

Speaker 2 (45:22):
He'd never played a major, which is fucking insane.

Speaker 5 (45:24):
It was wild.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
But now it's kind of like when Scotty was picked
for his first team. Everybody was like, oh, why are
we picking this young guy? And of course Scotty ends
up becoming this, you know, huge phenom. Obviously Ludwig hasn't
had that same trajectory. But now the idea of not
having Luod Big on a Ryder Cup team is like, yeah,
of course, of course we're getting blood Big agreed.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
Yep. I think he's going to do great.

Speaker 4 (45:47):
I think he's I think he is cold blooded, like
he's he's never his tempo never changes, his demeanor never changes.
I'm sure it's not on the inside, but I think
he's going to be in a hunter righter cups.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
Mm hmm. How did you do in Rome? He did
pretty good? Two points?

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Yeah, I just.

Speaker 5 (46:07):
Lost the singles won and foursomes.

Speaker 4 (46:10):
Yeah that's but did he did beat when we beat
Scotty and him and Hoveland nine and seven.

Speaker 5 (46:17):
Oh yeah, that was that was tough.

Speaker 4 (46:20):
Sun Burns and Scotty. You want to know it's Scott
and Brooks. Sorry, Scott and Brooks.

Speaker 5 (46:24):
Oh oh yeah, that's right, that's right, that's way.

Speaker 4 (46:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (46:28):
Okay. Bob mac he he's one of my favorite people
because he has he's, he's he has these little catchphrases
that he started to say, which I think he's had
some media training, which I so love and appreciate, But
he says these things like, you know, it's not the
not the dog in the fight, but the fight and

(46:51):
the dog. I'm just a I'm just a lad from
the west coast of Scotland, you know, from a small town.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
Okay, we should have we should have made a rule
that every player you name, he had to do it
in their accent.

Speaker 3 (47:08):
See, that would have been entertaining.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
Oh wait, they're still tired.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
Okay. I love Bob. Bob big fan of Bobby.

Speaker 5 (47:20):
He almost won at BMW.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
Of course, Scotty beat him, and I think that he
was chirping about wanting like a rematch. I get to Scotty.

Speaker 4 (47:30):
Yeah, so he's not scared, as you know, I just
I love him. I love his attitude. I think when
he went in Canada, he was in the sing Sure
event the next week whatever, and he said, now I'm
not doing that.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
I'm gonna go home and celebrate.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
That's right, remember, Yeah, And he won his singles in
his only he's only played one Rider Cup and he
did win the singles. So I always love I always
kind of go off the singles, and I was really
impressed with how he did last time.

Speaker 3 (47:53):
So yeah, love a bit of Bob, Love a.

Speaker 5 (47:57):
Bit of Bob. Victor Harville and our King.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
One of my favorite things on the internet right now
are the Victor Hoveland edits that these girls make on TikTok.
And it's like just video of Victor smiling or walking
away or whatever with the song I will be all
father big. It's just so bothered me because I see

(48:24):
Victor as this like lovable little weirdo, probably like he's
a heart throb to the people.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Yeah, I've heard that as well.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
We had this girl I golf club and she yeah,
I think she was trying to slide into his DMS.

Speaker 3 (48:39):
He is.

Speaker 4 (48:39):
He is a little bit of a I mean I
can kind of see it like he's musty and like
he's just cheeky.

Speaker 5 (48:44):
In he he's chicky little lamb.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
He's a cheekytte chap. He's a cheeky chap.

Speaker 4 (48:50):
But yeah no again, I yeah, I love I don't know,
he's just gonna smile at the at the heckling, which
I love, Like he doesn't know what else to do
about from smile.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
So I love him, love, love love.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
But he's had a you know, he's constantly saying that
he doesn't know where the golf ball's going, he's had
a weird ear, blah blah blah. But I think in
this setting he just blocks in.

Speaker 3 (49:11):
He'll figure it out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and you've had
a good week. Last week it went with as well.

Speaker 4 (49:17):
So but he's just I mean, I've never meted someone
who doesn't like him.

Speaker 2 (49:21):
No, yeah, I mean either. It's just like I said,
our a lovable little weirdo. And last two John rahm
mm hmm, who will be a fiery spaniard back again,
Yeah again John.

Speaker 4 (49:36):
I think he's become a massive staple in the Solheim.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
Cups, huge staple in the Slheim couple loves it. He's
always playing with Carlata saganda.

Speaker 4 (49:46):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, again, massive staple like Kim and Rory,
I think are going to be. You can have Justin Rose,
who's going to have the experience and going to be
like kind of the level headed, like older like father figure.
And then you're gonna have Rory John that is going
to be like right, let's sucking it, let's get down
to business.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
Now, let's this. You know, they're going to be the
one rather and everybody up.

Speaker 4 (50:06):
And that's where I see his role, and I think
that he's going to be pivotal in a hostile environment
like that page.

Speaker 6 (50:15):
And last but not least is Sepstrucker, which I didn't
know was bold.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
It's a recent development, it was going and I think
that he decided to just commit to the fair place
shave and first accept accept the early onset mail pattern baldness,
fair play.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
I respect that first of all. Yep.

Speaker 4 (50:38):
I mean he's he's kind of a bit of a
quieter guy, isn't he. But he's an unbeliev Yeah, he's
an unbelievabletter. He's hitting the book. He's just coming to
his own in the last few years and he's won some
pretty like decent events. So yeah, I don't know. My
initial instinct is that this is going to be a
whole new ball part for him, Like again, I keep

(51:03):
going back. But the venue and the crowd are going
to play such a massive role in this, probably more
than any other one.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
I would say.

Speaker 5 (51:13):
I just I want.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
I feel like we're making such a big deal about
the venue in the crowd, and I need to see
it in person to believe it.

Speaker 5 (51:20):
Because the tickets are expensive.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
And not to say that that doesn't mean that the
New York sports fans will still not find a way
to be there.

Speaker 5 (51:30):
But I don't know.

Speaker 9 (51:31):
I just I see it being maybe not as bad,
not as crazy. Yeah, I don't know, but we'll see.
Yeah maybe.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (51:44):
I'm not even gonna get into the ticket prices, but
there's a fucking joke. It's just not accessible for I'm sorry,
just a I hate say the word average, but just
an average person wants to say the family like, it's
just not you have to say, but it's just I
hate that. I absolutely hate about this. It's like I
hate it. But listen, you might be right.

Speaker 3 (52:05):
Maybe we're big enough too much and it won't be
as bad, But we will see here.

Speaker 5 (52:12):
It'll be worse than Rome. It'll be worse in Rome.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
Oh gootscha, Okay, the Americans, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
Okay, Well, we already kind of mentioned Keegan, and we've
talked a lot about how if he hadn't been chosen
as the captain, he would be on the team and
it's been unfortunate for him, but seems like he's really
embraced the role of captain. Everybody that had that I
talked to on the team last week. We're like, yeah,
Keegan is one thousand percent committed to being the captain.

(52:48):
This is the only thing he really cares about in life.
And so as far as not leaving any stone unturned,
it seems like Keean has that attitude. M H.

Speaker 3 (52:59):
I would agree. I would agree.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
Okay, let's get into Scottie. I elaborate more on what
you were saying before about world number one is not
having a greater record at Ryder Cups.

Speaker 4 (53:11):
Match play is so different to a stroke play event,
and Tigers was kind of similar. Like he struggled in
the Presidents Cup, he struggled in you know, Ryder Cups
as well. And I don't know what it is. I
think it's because they're so good individually that it's really
difficult to go for them into a team environment, I think,

(53:34):
and not like that they dislike it. I just think
that it's quite like we said, it's a different week,
it's not the same routine and all that stuff. So yeah,
he literally he hasn't He's had two wins, two losses,
and three ties in the last two that he's played in.
But he got absolutely destroyed by Hovlin and Oberg, him
and Brooks in the in the four ball so what

(53:56):
twenty twenty one, So yeah, I know, I mean, I.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
Just think it's such a big.

Speaker 4 (54:05):
You can go into an individual event as will number one,
and yeah, all right, you're going to be favorite to win,
but you also have to beat one hundred and forty
six guys. He literally has to beat one guy or
two guys. And so I think that when in the
willaber one loses, there's a little bit more critique from
everybody around is like, well, why can't you just beat
them too?

Speaker 3 (54:24):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (54:25):
I think that might be much play is such a
different place. This is why it's fantastic. Yeah, which is
why it's fantastic. But yeah, that's I think why you know,
even he's probably like, why can I not beat the
world number fifty? I beat him every single week and
this guy's just destroyed me Because you're right, match plays
so different, which is why it's fun as hell.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
Yeah, I mean this time around, he now is coming
in having one on the PGA Tour a week before.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
So last fifty five times yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:54):
Yeah, well that too, but last time he hadn't played
for those he was one of the guys that had
not played in that he felt his preparation wasn't great
for the Ryder Cup, so he certainly is feeling prepared now.
Harris English. This is his first Ryder Cup back since
twenty twenty one. It's actually pretty impressive that he's on

(55:16):
this team considering he had a torn labrum in his
left hip he had to go through surgery. He kind
of like totally fell off and has worked his way back,
which just goes to show how good he is. I
really love Harris. He's a sweetie. He's like just I'm
just happy to be here type of attitude.

Speaker 4 (55:37):
Though he said to o Libya Lavia sorry, I.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
Was like, what the fuck Era.

Speaker 5 (55:46):
He doesn't have a tool labroom?

Speaker 2 (55:49):
Oh I know, but I just is like one of
the most common golfer injuries.

Speaker 4 (55:54):
I know, I know, but I just I didn't know
where you were going with it. And that's why.

Speaker 3 (55:58):
Sorry, if you heard me, get was going I was saying,
true was Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
Anyway, I can't say hair dryer, I can't say get
my hair blown out.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
I can't say no, no, no you I'm sure yes.

Speaker 4 (56:12):
And I'm just going to skip over to another play
as well, because this makes sense. Russell Henley, he's obviously
a rookie. There were roommates in college.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
They at Georgia.

Speaker 4 (56:23):
Yeah, because when I played with Russell the Grand Thorne
I played, we played with Harris English on the last
day and they were talking about it.

Speaker 2 (56:31):
Russell Russell is an insane putter is like ship on
the weekend at NAPA. But setting that aside, he's an
insane ye.

Speaker 3 (56:41):
But yeah, I think Harris.

Speaker 4 (56:42):
I think Harris English has one of my favorite gold
swings on the planet as well. But he's got a
very cool, calm demeanor. Yeah, it's just so does Russell.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
They won't be they won't be the fireworks people, No,
so not. But you know what's it called the sent Assassin?

Speaker 5 (57:05):
Yeah, yeah, like a lot of silent assassins on this.

Speaker 3 (57:08):
No you do. Actually, we're definitely like the more rowdy team.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
Yeah, yeah, there's more and more speaking of personality, higher
tem Europe is more the personality.

Speaker 5 (57:17):
Yeah, these guys are.

Speaker 2 (57:18):
More like mortgage brokers, respectfully, respect Yeah, all right, speaking
mortgage brokers. Ben Griffin was literally a mortgage loan officer
before he became a professional golfer. Again. Yeah, so he
came so close to winning in NAT but he probably

(57:39):
should have won. He three potted on the last to
knock himself out of it. But in general, it seems
like he is really not backing down from the moment. Yeah,
I would agree with you, and he just like loves
being in this environment.

Speaker 3 (57:54):
Yeah, I would agree with you.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
He'll have personality. He wins a match, he will erupt.

Speaker 5 (58:00):
Yeah, so that'll be fun. Patrick Can'tley.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
We we talked. We sufficiently covered him. Bryson, So uh
back on the Ryder Cup. Bryson, he came to the
dinner in Napa that the team had.

Speaker 5 (58:13):
He flew out there.

Speaker 2 (58:15):
He was also at the Walker Cup the weekend before,
where I was working.

Speaker 5 (58:20):
I don't know if you noticed my cypress point hat
very nice.

Speaker 3 (58:23):
Well, don't care.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
Yeah, thank did you get a mug? I did? I
did get a mug.

Speaker 5 (58:28):
Yeah, So I'm excited about that.

Speaker 2 (58:31):
But so Bryson was like in California, Uh, spent some
time with the team. Keegan said he put a lot
of effort into actually showing up for the team because
he was not allowed to play in the NAPA event,
even though they had asked a tour if he could play,
and you know, makes sense why they would say no.

Speaker 5 (58:52):
But my argument to that would be, let's take advantage
of him.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
Yeah, yeah, let's take advantage of his millions of millions
of subscribers and followers.

Speaker 5 (59:04):
Yeah, it would have been great.

Speaker 2 (59:06):
But I also understand why it's at the bad President
and la la la, Yeah, all those things.

Speaker 5 (59:11):
But I think he'll put on a show at beck Page.

Speaker 3 (59:13):
Yes, I think he will.

Speaker 4 (59:14):
I think if anyone is built for this kind of environment,
I think him and Justin Thomas. But even more so
I think now is Bryson. I think he also wants
to prove a point. Being from live He also so
twenty eighteen, that was the first one he played. He
actually lost all three of his matches, and then obviously
he played a little bit better last time in twenty
twenty one. He was pissed they didn't get on the

(59:35):
twenty three team. He was livid that Zach Johnson didn'tive
him even a call. So he's got a little bit
of fire up his ass and his shoulder. Yeah, he
definitely has. And I think that he is literally built
for this shit now, Like he is built for big moments,
like not even like big moments, but like just the
fucking noise and the show per So he's definitely one

(59:56):
that's gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
You know, he's going to try and impress.

Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
He's going to show off, which could be a good
thing for us, to be honest, for Europe, because he
might take on things that he doesn't need to be
taking on.

Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
I always think that.

Speaker 5 (01:00:10):
But then he like wins the US Open, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
Which is which is really annoying. Actually, this is why
it's so funny to watch. That's why it's so great
to watch and so great for the game of golf
because he actually fucking pulls it off a lot of
the time. So yeah, I think he's Yeah, they're gonna
he's going to be one of the players that when
you get paired against him, the Europeans are gonna that's
the only problem you've got with someone like Bryson, and

(01:00:32):
I think you have it with Justin Thomas. We're gonna
want to beat you so fucking bad. Like there's certain
players on the team that you want to get paired
against and be like I want to be you, and
he's one of them.

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
I think depending on which European player too, it's like
either you're going to be like, oh, inner, great exactly,
I have to deal with this for the whole match,
or it's going to be I want to shut him up.
I want to, you know, put him in his place.
I guess it depends on the personality.

Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
To Justin Thomas, he is a Ryder Cup star wart.

Speaker 4 (01:01:05):
Yeah again, I feel like he's a little bit like Rory.
I feel like he's become a leader and.

Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
He's only played in three right, this.

Speaker 5 (01:01:12):
Is his fourth one, but feels like he's been there forever.

Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
Yeah, and he's he's a very dominant character on the team.
He's won seven matches, he's lost four and he's in
he's tied two of them, so he's got very good records.
And you just know when Justin Thomas, like you just
know he's he wants to fucking beat you no matter what.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
Like he's just he's built for Ryder Cups.

Speaker 4 (01:01:34):
So I think that he's going to be He's a
very similar guy to like a Rory, Like he's going
to become a leader and the spine of the team
even though he's only played a nine, three or four.
But there's not a ton of experience in this in
this American team, to be honest, A few points.

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Yeah, world ranking.

Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
Is fantastic, way better, like better than ours, but experience
wise it there's there's not but.

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
There's nobody that's played seven or eight Ryder Cups.

Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
Like no the film beersins have gone.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, So Xander, he was not in
NAPA because he just.

Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
Had a baby.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
I don't know if you knew that, Oh did he Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
Oh cute.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
I think I think they named him Victor. Oh very nice,
which is so cute of them to name him after
Victor Hotlin. I know.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
That's pretty cute.

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
Yeah, so Xander, I'm sure will be great when he
shows up and everything will be fine, but he will
have like a less than a one month.

Speaker 4 (01:02:29):
Old yeah baby, yeah, both that could be a good
thing or about saying I think. I mean, it's not
like he's not going to get help. I'm sure that week, but.

Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
It cannot. Yeah, I don't know. I feel like it can.
It can if.

Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
Anything that could actually make you better, because one you're
probably a little bit happier even though you're not getting
enough sleep. But two, I don't know. You just I
guess he's so early, And I was going to say
there's another reason for him to kind of. I know,
when you have a kid, it just gives you a
bit more drive and stuff, doesn't it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
But yeah, you're right, I'm quite I'm intrigued to see
how he does. I'm intrigued to see how he does.
But he's busies with Patrick.

Speaker 4 (01:03:10):
Canty and he's so like they'veta They play a lot
together and they do really fucking good together, which is annoying.
So they're quite annoying preparing to be against.

Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
So Sam Burns has been kind of the last man
on the team the couple last couple of years he
was picked over someone like a Maverick McNeely this time around.
What do you think about Sam Burns's place on the team?

Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
Great pattern, Yeah, listen, I like some Burns. He's obviously
really good friends with Scotty as well.

Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
I hope he doesn't put fucking USA in his head
again like he did last time. He had a mullet,
didn't any shaved USA in his head and then went
out and lost.

Speaker 3 (01:03:50):
Like no, I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
Look, Oh God, Like, if you introduce something like that,
you got to back it up, and he didn't. So okay, listen,
I think that. I mean again, he's just gonna. He's gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
I don't know. He's not as quiet.

Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
As like a JJ spawn or like a like a
Russell Henley or like a Harris English Like, he's got
a little bit more kind of edge outward passion. Yeah, yeah,
he definitely has some edge.

Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
So yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 4 (01:04:23):
He's kind of just a player that I just all
I think about with him is just the mullet with
the USA in it, okay, and it fucking drives me nuts.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
I'm sure he'll show up with a tash.

Speaker 4 (01:04:33):
Yeah, probably some of the USA in it and something. Yeah,
it's just yeah, I mean yeah, I struggle with that stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:04:41):
I think it's great. I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
Any any extra personality in this sport, please, I know,
I agree. I agree, so JJ Spahn, you mentioned, uh,
how what a year he's had, winning the US Open
and almost winning the Players and this like total total
breakout year.

Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
I feel like.

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
He'll be He'll have silent assassin tendencies, but if the
moment is big and he wins a point or something
like that, I could see him really reacting because he's
wanted to do this forever and ever and finally it's
having the opportunity.

Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
Yeah. Yeah, And I.

Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
Think that I wouldn't be surprised if he is probably
one of the best rookies as well. I just feel
like he's found this self belief in himself, and he
played well last week and he's sick. He's an unbelievable putter.
I think he's got such a fucking beautiful gold swing
as well. And I really think, yeah, like I said,
the last couple of years, well, the last year, I
would say, he's really got a lot of self confidence.

Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
And I think that.

Speaker 4 (01:05:40):
I would not be surprised if you as that if
he was the leading points for a rookie player on
the American team very much.

Speaker 5 (01:05:47):
Yeah, I like JJ, I feel like he'll do well.
I feel like he won't moment god oh, my God.
Speaking of his daughters.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
We're watching him putt on eighteen and we were all
standing in the same place watching a monitor in Napa
and he I think he made the putt birdie or
something like that, and one of the little girl goes.

Speaker 5 (01:06:10):
Oh, daddy made the putt. We get a new toy.

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
See that is so cute.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
It's so cute.

Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
That is so cute.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
I loved it. So let's see. Colin Moorekkawa is playing
in his third straight Ryder Cup.

Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
Caddies high from mel Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:06:30):
He's had like five caddies this year.

Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
I was a big fan of him. I've become I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
I don't know he's I think he's I've changed my
opinion on him a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
I still I don't dislike the guy.

Speaker 4 (01:06:44):
I don't I think having the amount of caddies he's
going through like, I get it to a certain extent.

Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
I actually do get it.

Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
Like he is trying to find what fits with him
and probably that will be the last, hopefully long term caddy.
I don't like the way he been with the media,
so I have a bit of an emotional like.

Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
Thing with him. So we'll see. I don't know who
is his caddy at the minute.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
Mark or Bannock who worked for Tony for a very
very very long time. But Tony's not playing great, and
I can imagine that getting the opportunity to be on
a bag like Colin Warekawa's is probably a big deal,
so understand why he would have gone to Colin's bag.
Who knows if he'll actually stay there because on Colin's

(01:07:31):
track record right now.

Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
But he's a pretty good writer, Kappa, He's.

Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
A great writer.

Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
Copper.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
He's just been you know, he's had a weird year
with a swing. He's been changing everything. It's like wearing
a glove, not wearing a glove, changing his routine, changing
his putting routine, like changing everything, which has always been
so bizarre to me that golfers do that. But I
just work here, so who knows.

Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
No, I agree with you. I did it.

Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
I did it the time. Well, I didn't change my quipment.
I just change like the way I was swinging all
the time. Yeah, it's really odd to me. Like Victor Hoffin,
like he wins FedEx, I'm going to change my goal swing.
I'm like, I don't, You're acking idiot.

Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
Yeah, I don't know, we're crazy, We're crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
Yeah, that is confirmed, can confirm. And last player the
rookie from the mean.

Speaker 5 (01:08:20):
Streets of the Bronx camera.

Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
And yeah the Bronx Okay, sleeping holloy.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
So the clarity on that is he went to Fordham Prep,
which is a prep school like a high school, which
was technically.

Speaker 5 (01:08:36):
In the Bronx.

Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
Okay, so that's where the journalist got that from.

Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
Oh, like he's from the Bronx.

Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
He's like, dude, my dad has had one of those
fastigious golfs on the planet.

Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:08:51):
I'm a big fan of this guy. And yeah, I'm
a big fan Granthorne. I think I told you this story.
Like he was up five hours up at five okai
and he's got three kids, and we just looked exhausted
and we didn't even need to say anything to each other.
It was just a mutual respect to fuck me. I
I love his passion. I think that he was so

(01:09:13):
desperate to get that team. He finally got the win,
you know, got the monkey off his back. I've been
a massive fan of Cameron Young for a long time,
so I think he's gonna thrive. I really do. I
think he doesn't look like a golfer. To me, you
were saying that he does look like a golfer.

Speaker 5 (01:09:32):
Yes, he looks like a golfer.

Speaker 3 (01:09:34):
Really, I think he as a baseball player.

Speaker 2 (01:09:36):
Now he's too short to be a baseball player and
too skinny. Hmm.

Speaker 5 (01:09:41):
Maybe his face.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
It's his face, I'm not your face.

Speaker 2 (01:09:45):
Maybe it's a beard.

Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
Yeah, long get out at the back.

Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
And you're also thinking, you always bring this up. You're
thinking baseball because he has an MLB I know, an answership.

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
I know, no, I know. And that's probably true.

Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
And you know why, because the commissioner of the MLB
or whatever as a member.

Speaker 5 (01:10:01):
It's sleepy in the Bronx, the mean streets of the Bronx.

Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
Yeah, and it must be his face. I think it's
the bid and the long hand.

Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
Yeah yeah, okay, I'll give you the face, but everything
else is giving golfer.

Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
Yeah, okay, okay, fantastic.

Speaker 5 (01:10:16):
Yeah, he hits it a mile. Beth Page is a
big ballpark.

Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
He'll be great for that, and all the New Yorkers
are going to just absolutely wrap their arms around him and.

Speaker 5 (01:10:25):
Just he's going to have the week of his life.
So it's gonna be great. So so.

Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
I was gonna say, what's uh, what's your prediction?

Speaker 4 (01:10:36):
Though, I think it's gonna be a really difficult challenge.
If we win, I it will be one of the
greatest moments of my life.

Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
Because you're gonna say, like one of the greatest Ryder
Cup or golf, it will be.

Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
It will be. It will be the biggest moment of
mel reads.

Speaker 4 (01:11:00):
Honestly, I might got sweaty palms thinking about it, Like
that's how naty palms anyway, I know, But I just
I love I love it so much, and I'm so
passionate about your I just fucking love beating you guys
so much. Like I love America. I love America, but
not this week, like not not riding a cut week,
Soli cut weak. Like I just love it so much
because we're just like really small compared to you guys,

(01:11:21):
and we just keep doing it and I just really
enjoy it. Yeah, And I think, I come on, you admit,
it would be one of the greatest things in riding
Cup history to win there.

Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
It would be I would not, right, But I think
we might. We've got a very good chance.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
We've got a lot more experienced possible team to give
you a chance.

Speaker 5 (01:11:42):
Yeah, yeah, you couldn't have a better squad.

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
Yeah, squad is so cute.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
I just think that I'm going to be sitting in
the media center and Sam is in NAPA. I mean,
I look up at Scottish shuffler on the monitor and
I'm going to say, you know what, I think he's
gonna win this week.

Speaker 5 (01:12:03):
And that's exactly what the.

Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Feeling that I have about this since it's just I
don't know, if they put half good and you know,
are half as good as they normally are, they'll win.

Speaker 3 (01:12:17):
Who Europe? No, yes, no, I know.

Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
And listen, I noticed it's such as such a monumental
task that these boys are about to take on with
you guys, because you guys are on paper, way better
than us. I feel like the venue is perfect for
you guys. It's a big hitters golf course. You are
bigger hitters in US, and I do feel like you're
camaraderie in the team room. We've noticed it in Solheim
as well, like it's definitely changing into more getting Yes,

(01:12:45):
like they're becoming more mates and it's becoming easier to
become a team. And we've noticed that over the last
few years I still think it's a bit more natural
to us, just because we've been told that for years,
and you know, we do have the experienced players that
come in and tell us that. But I feel like
you guys are getting that now, and that is quite concerning.
So it's it's gonna be a blood bath. It's going

(01:13:06):
to be a blood bath. It's going to be so
much fun, and it's going to be passionate ship.

Speaker 5 (01:13:10):
It's going to be epic.

Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
I hope everybody enjoys watching it. Mel and I will
both be there, and it's going to be a historic
Rider Cup to be sure. My first Rider Cup, which
is a pretty crazy one for this to be my
first Rider Cup.

Speaker 3 (01:13:25):
Oh yeah, my first one was when I met Carl.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
Oh cute. Now, it was the best day of her
life other than the weird cuddle.

Speaker 3 (01:13:38):
She loved it.

Speaker 5 (01:13:41):
All right, Well, do you have a shush of the week?

Speaker 4 (01:13:46):
Okay, so if you're listening to the podcast, but which
I'm sure you're not. He was my car driver last week,
so we get a cart driver because obviously we always
have to be ahead of the players to look at
lies and get numbers and stuff like that. Right on course,
at how he didn't fucking kill someone on this golf car. Okay,
it made me so nervous. I told him a couple
of sounds like Bert, but you cannot just like ram

(01:14:08):
people like you have to literally.

Speaker 5 (01:14:10):
Show people moving, what place is to be, people to see.

Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
No Kurt. Three times he came within about two inches
of some one's cat like.

Speaker 4 (01:14:17):
I was like, oh my god, I'm so sorry. I
was like I was having to shout move, which I
hate doing anyway, because I noticed he had both feet,
so he had one foot on excient and one foot
the break at all times.

Speaker 5 (01:14:29):
Oh and that makes one first situation.

Speaker 4 (01:14:32):
Well not yes, so, but I'm sorry. You were absolutely
lovely and I really appreciate your help, but Jesus, you
scared the living shit out of me for four days,
so please don't be doing that again. So that's my
show of the week, fucking b Bird. But the name
is perfect too, of course.

Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
So my shreh of the week is I was sitting
in the bar at Silverado in the restaurant, I had
ordered some food to go and I was waiting for it,
and this lady comes up to me, clearly very drunk,
and she goes.

Speaker 5 (01:15:06):
Are you that golf giannel girl and.

Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
I was like, yeah, I am, and she goes, I'm
sitting over there with all those guys.

Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
They have such a crush on you, you take a.

Speaker 5 (01:15:19):
Picture with them. And I was like, uh sure.

Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
So they all come stumbling over and this the one
guy that got really close to me, he like really
went for it, like grabbed my waist, like put his
hands on me. And in the past, I probably would
have just done a grin and Barrett and like, you know,
just wait for the moment to pass so that I
and just walk away.

Speaker 5 (01:15:44):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
I was I was having a bad day or I
was hungry, but I just looked at this guy and
I go, whoa, whoa, whoa buddy, watch the hair.

Speaker 5 (01:15:52):
Watch and he like he was like whoa.

Speaker 2 (01:15:55):
Look. I didn't know what to do, and I was like,
let's just take a group, make sure, and be done
with it, okay.

Speaker 5 (01:16:01):
Yeah, And so I smashed from there.

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Yeah, I smiled and and the lady was like, oh,
thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (01:16:09):
They love that. I was like cool.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
And then right in that moment, my food came up.

Speaker 5 (01:16:14):
God, yeah, get me out of here.

Speaker 4 (01:16:16):
When you're sober and drunk, people around you. It is
the fucking worst, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
But you know what they were older, they're like in
their late fifties, early sixties, and like I, you know,
I try not to judge, and people have their own
things that they're going through. But if you have reached
that stage of life and you're still doing stuff like
that and being so embarrassing in a bar and going
up to a stranger that you don't know and then

(01:16:41):
like putting her in a situation where you're.

Speaker 5 (01:16:43):
Literally touching her, like get away from me? Like, how
have you made it through life with?

Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
Not?

Speaker 5 (01:16:48):
Bring this out? So anyway, that's my shirt.

Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
I'm proud of you. How to go, Kiara, see with it?

Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
Angry?

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
We know we no longer do the Grann and Barrett
touch anything. If you try to touch me in an
unwelcome manner, you will be properly chastised.

Speaker 3 (01:17:05):
So just proud.

Speaker 4 (01:17:06):
If anyone's listening, yeah, don't touch don't touch me.

Speaker 5 (01:17:13):
Okay, Well I'm going to see you in New York.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
I have so many Instagram reel and TikTok sounds that
I've saved that we're going to do together.

Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
Oh okay, fucking oh my nephew's coming out.

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
I'll tell you that he's flying in from Edinburgh.

Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
So yeah, that's great, changing the subject because I'm doing that, Kara,
Yes you are.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
We have a show to promote.

Speaker 5 (01:17:37):
Fine, I'll talk to Cossette and you will be.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
Okay, candidly. You will be fucking doing this candidly.

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
If you want the show to be successful, you're gonna smile.

Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
I'll put into nice outfits. Do I need to dress
up nice?

Speaker 5 (01:17:51):
No, you don't need to do anything.

Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
You need to do what I tell you.

Speaker 5 (01:17:54):
And I got it for understyle and dance or whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Understood. That is going to be my shush of the
week that week.

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
Now, okay, preemptive shut okay, see New York, See.

Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
