Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hey guys, my name's Albert Navadette. I'm from Hobbson, New Mexico,
and I wanted to share my prayer and fasting testimony.
At a young age, I wanted to become a pilot,
and by the age of eighteen, I had been arrested
for DWI three times. So I completely destroyed any chances
of doing it flying professionally or flying at all, because

(00:27):
once you cross that line with the FAA, it's very difficult,
especially with the DWIS, to get back on track with them.
But it was a goal that I had set at
a young age, and so I wanted to try it anyways,
even though the challenges I already knew were ahead of me.
The first step of acquiring your pilot license is getting
cleared medically in two thousand and four, and then you

(00:52):
can start your training. In two thousand and four was
my first time. I applied for my medical and they
denied me. The letter said I could reapply in two
thousand and five, so I tried again. They denied me,
and then I just put it on the back burner.
About fourteen years later, I was thinking, you know, maybe
they forgot about me. I wonder if I'm still on
the radar. So I decided to try it again. I

(01:14):
applied and again denied, and this time around they said,
we have a program. It's like a monitoring probation deal,
and if you want, you can try that route and
then we'll evaluate you along all the tasks that they're
going to give me and then make a decision along
the way. So I said, that was great, and we

(01:35):
just started that and I've kicked that off in twenty
nineteen beginning of between nineteen. Their loops that I had
to jump through were basically lots of counseling, AA meetings,
psyche vows, neuro psyche vows, and just a large amount
of work that needed to be done for them and expensive.

(01:56):
Anything in aviation is expensive, so the cost was high
as well. So I started that in twenty twenty. Is
the first time I heard evangelist Jonathan Preacher at t
Slap Church. Just something shifted in me and the word
just went to work and it just does what the
word does and started to change change me from the
inside out. So I started pressing in the word and

(02:19):
through twenty twenty through twenty twenty one and just staying
in the word and in the program. I was really
not not gaining any ground. I was just wall after
the wall and could not do nothing in my own
ability in the natural to get any kind of results.
Just everything was we would cover some ground, I would

(02:42):
reapply and they would deny me, and they say, go
ahead and do this. So and that was just the
continued cycle. Twenty twenty two came We're kicking off the
prayer and fast and evangelist Jonathan said, if you have
anything financial, paperwork or illegal issues, go and get it
before the Lord and expect for supernatural turnaround. So that's

(03:04):
what I did. I went and got my file, put
it before the Lord, prayed over it, me and my
wife in agreement with my whole family in agreement with me,
and leaped for it. In twenty a couple months later,
it was my third year in the program. It was
basically a final evaluation of all the task and there
was nothing else they could ask of me. I had
done it all, and so I waited for their response,

(03:28):
and sure enough it was a denial before that and
even the doctor I was working with, you know, he said, hey,
this was a possibility. We knew this from the start,
and now you can move on.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
With your life.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So but before that door closed, the Lord had already
supernaturally gave me another contact. So I hung up the phone,
called the next guy, and cranked up the program at
the end and continue moving forward. And in November of
twenty two, me and my wife and my daughter were
sitting down to lunch and the new doctor calls me
and as I just got off the phone with the

(04:02):
FAA and live in a grand junior medical so all
glory to God we were and We're sitting there in
the olive garden. I'm crying, you know. My wife's in tears.
I look at my daughter and she's like, Dad, go
cry in the car. And so had we had an
amazing time, praise God. And so twenty twenty three prayer

(04:24):
fast is kicking off, and I have some irs deals
that I had to I was messing with that for
about four years and I couldn't get anything to move
in my direction. So you know what, I'm gonna get
that same thing, put it before the Lord and expect
for supernatural turnaround. Me and my wife in agreement, and
we called it done in Jesus name. So three months later,

(04:47):
after the fast I started, I completed my flight training.
I was waiting all my pilot license to come in
the mail, so I'm checking it every day. While one day,
you know, it's a distinctive color of the envelope, so
I knew right away when it came in, so I
I checked it.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
There it was.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I pull it out, and I know I've been waiting
about twenty years to see my name on this ID card.
So I was just in amazement of what the Lord
had done for me.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
And then I set that down.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
And then directly behind my FAA license is a letter
mark Diars and I was like, no way. I opened
that up. All leans had been lifted, and here's a
check for what we owe you. Praise God, All glory
to God there is. He's amazing and he wants to
do amazing things for you.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
And all we have to do is do our part.
Believe the word, put it into action, put your.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Faith behind it, and He'll.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Go to work for your.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Praise God, All glory to God. And I just want
to thank Evangelist Jonathan Adalas all the amazing pastors here
at Choose Life Church. You guys are amazing a blessing
to us. Thank you for preaching the word with excellence.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
God bless you.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Guys are raising up a family in this church. We're
raising up a family in Pittsburgh. We're raising up a
family in Texas that don't just know about God.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
They know God.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
They've handled his power, they've seen his power flow through it.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
You're coming out of here today carrying fresh fire, fresh unknowing.
Take never to take another backwards stamp.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
How anybody can argue against the tithe or the principle
of keeping one day is holy under the Lord. And
know about the restaurant called Chick fil A is beyond me.
Chick fil A blows every fast food restaurant out of
the water revenue wise, and they're open one day less,
and they have no twenty four hour restaurants. So there's

(06:48):
fast food restaurants that are open twenty four hours, seven
days a week, and they cannot compete with you know,
Chick fil A's Christian.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I don't only are they not open on Sundays.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
They close it like nine o'clock because Christians go to
better Earth. Now that one I never caught, but most
Christians go to bed early, so they're not Not only
are they open one day less, they're opened many hours
less than their competition. People don't understand. I saw a
guy on Instagram. He said, I'm gonna I have a
business idea to open up a place that sells fried
chicken and in a food truck in Chick fil A

(07:19):
parking lots on Sunday and call it side Chick. Well
that's his idea, not my idea, but it does sound
like it would work. People are looking for that chicken
today and it's not open. But Truett Kathy from Georgia
was a godly man and he decided, I'm going to
keep this thing operating on Bible principles. Do you know
how many times over the course of twenty or thirty

(07:40):
years he had secular advisors and consultants tell him you
could increase revenue by twenty three percent in your first
year if you'd open up on Sunday, And he turned
it down because as long as you'll settle that I
am a god man who lives according to the principles
of God's word, and you never will let anybody back

(08:00):
you off of that. You become I'll tell you how
the Bible describes it. You become like a tree that's
planted by living waters that cannot be moved, along with
everything else the Lord's gonna use me to do on
this Sunday, I pray there would be an impartation that
every man that's in this place from today you become
an uncompromised The Bible's find me a scripture will jump

(08:23):
in the media room just on chat GPT. Find me
where it says not just righteous, but the uncompromisingly righteous.
Might be in the amplified classic e US say uncompromisingly righteous.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
A refusal to bow to the dictates of culture that
go against the word of God.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
I don't care how popular or unpopular marriage becomes. I
am going to be married to that woman on the
front row. It's a Bible thing that I want back
down from. I'm gonna I'm a tither. I don't care
how many people that used to teach on tithing that
now say they don't believe anymore. Believe whatever you want.
It'll make a bit of difference to me. I'm gonna
do everything that's in that book. No one will be

(09:03):
able to sway me to the left or to the right.
The Bible says, how did Deuteronomy eighth start? It said,
if you will keep my commandments. The whole war against
your life is not demons attacking you. It's a move
through unbelief to try to get you soft or lukewarm,
or compromise on the word of God. Think of how

(09:25):
many Christian leaders now that here say I used to
believe that. I used to think you had to tithe.
You know, I just want to say, for all the
people that argue against it, I don't believe in that.
What's your argument, Jonathan, enjoy your life arguing about tithing.
I've been tithing since I was four. We are in

(09:46):
a five point three million dollar building that was turned
over to us. I was handed, however much silver that
is today like a pirate this afternoon my life. I
was handed a plane, and then handed a bigger plane
after that to hit those four churches. Every miracle you've
seen in Pittsburgh has replicated in Texas, La and Arizona.
So you can argue with the commands of God all

(10:07):
you want. I'm gonna read it with childlike faith. I'm
gonna read it like I'm six years old, like nobody's
ever talked me out of it or said that's old
Testament or whatever people say. I'm gonna believe what God said.
I'm gonna speak what God said, and I'm gonna act
on what God said. And when you make up your
mind to believe what God said, to speak what God said,

(10:27):
and to act on what God said, you will have
every promise that's in that book. I said, You're gonna
have every promise that's in that book. You're gonna meet
up with the God that opens Sarah's womb. You're gonna
meet up with the God that makes the baron to conceive,
the God that puts orphans in homes, the God that

(10:48):
takes terminal cancer out of bodies so quickly that the
doctors think the machine broke down.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
You're gonna meet up with El should die, the God
of more than enough.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
You're gonna be now put Jehovah Chiram, the Lord that provides.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
You're gonna meet up put.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Jehovah Rafa that takes all sickness and all disease out
of your midst.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, now you me seated. Think about this for a second.
You've seen me preach.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
I was at one hundred and ninety live services this
year before I went on that vacation, So I'm over
two hundred. Now, where have you seen an announcement in
the last three and a half years that brother Jonathan
can't be here today?

Speaker 2 (11:35):
He has stripped throat, not even serious diseases.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
When have you seen anything even from fatigue take me
out of one meeting.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
I'm not bragging, and it's not out of machoness.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
There's a God that not only said he'd heal you
when you get sick, he said, after he heals you,
he'll take sickness and disease out of your midst for
the rest of your life. I don't have time to
get sick. I'm doing a work for the Lord. You
know what Jesus said, If you produce fruit for me,
I will prune you so that you produce even more fruit.
In other words, like a gardener takes care of a plant,

(12:09):
I'll take care of your body so that you can
produce even more fruit. Now, you have to honor the
commands of Scripture. It doesn't matter how anointed you are
or how great the call of God is on your life.
There's one day at to rest. When I finish here
and we get out of here and I'm back home
or wherever, at two PM, I won't move much till
I go to West Virginia tomorrow night at five point

(12:31):
thirty pm. That's over twenty four hours. You honor the
principle arrest or you'll blow your body out. But I
honor that principle. And you see, I hope, I hope
you've paid attention enough. I'm not doing this to brag
on me. But God will make you when you speak
his word somebody, that's an example that he keeps his word.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
My marriage isn't faltering.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
All these ministers having conferences about how not to lose
your marriage when you're in the ministry, how not to
sacrifice your children on the altar of ministry. I've never
dealt with any of that. Camilla loves church. She's happy.
I'm leaving to serve the Lord. A Dollas and I
are having the best time in our marriage that we've
ever had.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
This all around.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Blessing that the Bible promises to the godly. It's not
a pipe dream. See, it's so unrealistic in view of
modern culture, where all marriages are failing, all children are
rebellious and out of the house, churches have low attendance
and no money. That people rather than saying how can
I line myself up with this book in heaven? They

(13:33):
just go It's not possible. I know it says this,
but it means in heaven. But if you read these promises,
they can't even happen in heaven. How does God give
you victory over your enemies in heaven? There's no enemies,
there's no demons there. This book is not a workbook
for how to have victory in heaven. Abraham didn't have

(13:54):
victory in heaven. Isaac didn't have victory in heaven. They
dominated here on this earth. David a man after God's
own heart. He didn't get his victory in heaven. From
the time he was fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen, he becomes
anointed to be the King of Israel. He takes Goliath
out at seventeen, He secures tax exempt status by seventeen.

(14:18):
He gets the king's daughter for a wife at seventeen
that has four hundred people fhon him, has his own
private army when the military's coming after him, goes to
live with Samuel. That book is a book that shows you,
no matter how simple, no matter how common, no matter
how uneducated you are, there's people in the lineage of
Jesus that had to rehabbed the prostitute as their mother.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Doesn't matter your background that you come from.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
You can come from the best background, and if you
thumb your nose at God, best of luck.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
But you can come from the worst background.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Father in prison, mother in prison, put up in an
adoption clinic.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
When you say, God, I believe you're a word. I
believe you're more than an to do everything you said
you can do. I believe it, I speak it, and
I have thought it. God will prove his promises to you.
Every battle that you had to fight growing up. Your
children will never fight those battles. God is faithful to

(15:17):
his word.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
I got heal yesterday by Jesus, of course, but through
mister Shuttlesworth. He prayed for cataracts. He just all of
a sudden spoke at Alex and I've been believing for
a cataract removal for a while and praying about it
and stuff, And yesterday when he called that out, I
just put my hands in my eyes and we went
out for lunch afterwards, and all of a sudden, I

(15:41):
said to my wife, I said, I can see perfectly clear,
like it's amazing this morning. I brought my glasses. I
put my glasses on to come here. I didn't recognize
my way from the lineup because I couldn't.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Everything was blurry.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
I took him off, put in my pocket. I brought
back to my trug howl lujah.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
So you can all thank you it or you can
believe it. But the believer in is better.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
You know. I know the baby says that, but yeah,
you'll never have it. God doesn't like your butt. God
likes belief. I don't understand that.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Up to you under what do you know?

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Now?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
You eat me too.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
That's how God talked to people when they wanted the question,
what do you know? Where were you when I when
I laid out the boundaries of the oceans, I don't
remember seeing you there. I created this whole world. I
know what I'm doing. Believe my word. I want to
tell you the cancer that's spread in the human race.
When Eve decided to believe that serpent, what did he

(16:42):
infect her with? Did God say that if you eat
this fruit, you'll surely die?

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
He got man to doubt the word of God, And
within a couple chapters, one brother's killed the other brother.
That's why the Bible says the sin of the world
world is their unbelief in me. I'm gonna tell you
you can stand up behind that pulpit if you want
and preach against sin. You know you can nothing wrong
with it. But if you get people walking in faith,

(17:13):
they will live in victory over sin.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Who was.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
You know what did I preach on? Did I ever
preach against adultery or living with your girlfriend? When those
two couples in New Mexico two weeks ago said they wanted.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
To get married.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Now, I was preaching faith and healing and miracles. And
when the Holy ghost, and that's who the Bible calls
the spirit of faith, was moving. It knocked out things
from their life. They were of unbelief. Who hears a
message about healing from cancer and says, can we get married?
What do those two things have to do with each other.
What it has to do with is where there's faith,

(17:53):
there's not unbelief. And the Bible says the sin of
the world is their unbelief in me. A dolls and
I have had our faith as active and out there
as possible. I got my faith out in Pittsburgh. I
got my faith out in Texas. I got my faith
out in la I got my faith out in Arizona.
I got my faith out for the evangelistic meetings. I
got my faith out to get that stage and sound

(18:15):
to start doing big evangelistic crusades in America. You know,
when you have your faith out like that, there's no
time to sin around and sin or having a fair,
or join a country club and start doing things you
shouldn't do.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
There's no time.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
If puff Daddy invited me to the parties with the
rest of the Dallas pastors.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
I'm only in Dallas thirty hours a month, I can't go.
I'm not bad. I actually was looking yesterday.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
I don't know that I've lived anywhere long enough this
year to qualify as having to pay taxes or be
a resident of that place. I'm in Pittsburgh about thirty
six hours a week, thirty hours a week, so it'll
add up to like one hundred days, maybe one hundred
and ten days that I've been in Pittsburgh. I mean,
just on the move for God. When you have your
faith out, there's not time to sin. I don't have

(18:59):
time in my skin schedule to do something I shouldn't
be doing. When you get your faith out and you
start pursuing a goal. That's the difference here. There's nothing
wrong with preaching against sin, but the Bible says two things,
forgetting those things that are behind, but there's a second
part focusing on those things that are to come. So

(19:19):
some people don't preach against sinner holiness or anything at
all that's bad. But then some people only talk about
being free, free from drug addiction, free from depression.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
That's great. But if your life consists.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Around you trying not to drink, trying to stay free
from depression, trying to stay free from whatever the devil
is using complaguing you, you're fighting a losing battle because
your focus is on the attacker. But when you get free,
and if you're not free, you're going to leave here
free today because he who the sun sets free is

(19:52):
absolutely free. But then God doesn't just make you free.
The Bible says forgetting those things that are behind and
focusing on those things that are to come. You know,
I never tried to get free from my speech impediment.
I never tried to get healed from having crooked legs.
The Lord put a call on my life to preach.

(20:13):
I told the early crowd, if my mom can find it,
I have a mister Potato Head tape from nineteen eighty
five that I recorded over with a tape recorder with
record and play with a mic plugged into the side,
preaching on how David beat Goliath and took the head
of that uncircumcised Philithine. Sounds like Elmer Fudd preaching on
a tape. I was focused on my future, and you

(20:35):
know what, as I started focusing on those things that
are to come, the speech impediment left. The leagues got healed.
You can't run from your past. You have to run
to a future. And if I were the devil, I
try to get you to believe that you don't have
a future, there's nothing to run too. But the Bible
tells you a different story. I'm taking you to a
good land flowing with milk and honey. You're gonna eat

(20:58):
in plenty, They're gonna be full. I'm gonna provide for
your children. I tell everybody in Pittsburgh, I tell everybody
in Texas, no matter who you are, no matter how
much has gone wrong, this is gonna be the best
four months that you've ever had I said, it's gonna
be the best four months that.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
You've ever had.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
God is gonna do exceedingly, abundantly above.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
All that you would ask her. Thank according to His power.
You can be seated. You get what you preach. Never
heard me say in April. We're heading into summer. It's
our driest time financially as a ministry.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
If you could please pray, pray all you want is
not can reverse your confession.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
You ding bet.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
If the leader doesn't have a good confession, you're in trouble.
No I told you we're gonna have a great summer.
God will give you what you say. Hallelujah, Praise God
one piece for every critic. Can you say amen? Laying
on the altar, We're gonna build that church debt free.
We're gonna have fifteen hundred Christians gathered on Sunday and

(22:13):
a debt free building very shortly.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
You can't curse what God is blessed. I want you
to say, somebody with me.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
The strongest impartation of God's word comes through words. Bible
says in Ezekiel to too, and his spirit entered into
me when he's spaken to me. So whether I ever
lay hands on you or not. You're having something flow
into you from God's word today. That's why you might
have come in as I would have if I wasn't
the speaker, barely awake, just honoring God's house. But now

(22:46):
you feel like you can run through a troop and
leap over a wall because the substance of faith is
coming on the inside of you. That takes an ordinary
weak man and an ordinary weak woman and turns them
into a supernatural being. Paul wrote it like this in Galicians,
chapter two, verse twenty. It's no longer nevertheless I don't live,

(23:10):
but Christ lives in me. It's no longer I that
liveth My speech, impaired, weak self got swallowed up in
the Christ who lives in me.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Hallelujah.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
It's not you trying to serve God, it's you getting
full of God and His power overwhelming you. Then you
get into this area, everybody, say a word with me,
say overflow. Where not only is there enough to keep
you healthy? The Bible says that they would take the
sick out into the streets to lay in the shadows,

(23:46):
that perhaps Peter's shadow would fall across them and they'd
be healed. So It goes from you getting healed, to
you being strong and not getting sick anymore, to now
you carrying an overflow of health, and then a confidence
in God's word. See the Lord healed that woman, but
he works through vessels, so he needed somebody. And I

(24:07):
happened to be the person this time who believed. If
I go there in the name of the Lord, no
matter how bleak the situation is, God's power that lives
in me will turn that situation around. I am imparting
that confidence into you today that no matter how bleak
things are at your office, wherever you go, when you
step in, darkness can't drive out light, but light drives

(24:31):
out darkness effortlessly. The light of God is on the
inside of you. Light in the Bible connotates revelation. The
more your revelation of God's word grows, the more strength
from Heaven begins to radiate out of your soul, out
of your mouth.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
You begin to.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Turn other people's lives around, not by might, not by power,
but by the spirit of Almighty God. If I was
the devil, i'd be nervous because we're about to turn
out a thousand people in Pittsburgh and Fort worth that
are gonna come out of here with fire on their heads,
fire in their billies. They're gonna dislotch deviols everywhere they go.

(25:11):
The devil will not write the last chapter of American history.
The people that are gonna write it are here in
this place right now.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Get rid of it. For the past four months.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Patlulia, you know what's great about being full of the
Holy Ghost. You start not being somebody that anybody can
claim to. We have so many black people who go
to church here, and white people and Asians saying, what
am I. I'm not dressed like any race. I'm dressed

(25:48):
like hotel curtains. I'm not acting white, I'm not acting black.
I'm acting the Holy Ghost. I'm acting like God. And
so it becomes an attracting to every tongue, every tribe,
every nation, and every race. I want to tell all
the women that are here, whatever things they set against

(26:10):
women in life, when you get full of the Holy Ghost,
ask Catherine Coleman, ask Amy Symble McPherson, people stop forgetting
that you're a woman and they just seek God. Whatever
they've set in society against black people. When you get
full of the Holy Ghost, like William Seymour. People stop
forgetting what race you are, and they just feel Jesus
when you're around. They start opening doors for you that

(26:33):
they wouldn't open for their own children. I tell you today,
whatever has been against you before, today, you're leaving with
favor that comes from heaven. You're living with blessing that
comes from heaven. You're living with overflow that comes from heaven.
You can't curse who God is blessed, and I call
you blessed.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
I call you blessed.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
What was that scripture had you pull up about uncompromising
the racis? I sought up there, but I didn't read it.
It problems ten twenty four and twenty five. You head
it up there? Just put this in one on ten
twenty five when the Whirldwin passes the wicked or no more?
See the babble doesn't deny problems. You know some people
that preach against faith. You should actually clean the wax

(27:22):
out of yours and listen to what faith preachers preach,
because you're not even attacking things anyone says. These faith
preachers act like there's no problems in life. What preacher
says that, what preacher has not told you have I
hidden from you us having to go to court and
moon township as the church expands.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
No, but we won the lawsuit t have.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
What no I see it, and we want it again
this year to have what No I seen in Pittsburgh,
even though we were having it in Texas.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Just to win it.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
No, there are there are disappointments and frustrations that come
in life John sixteen thirty three. But be of good cheer,
Jesus said, for I have overcome the world, and I

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
