Speaker 1 (00:01):
Morning Run with Amy and TJ and iHeartRadio Podcast. Good
morning everyone, thanks for joining us for today's Morning Run.
It's Wednesday, September third. I'm Amy Robot and.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I'm TJ Holmes. Starting my day off a little better
than this one. Amy Robot getting the bad news. Amazon
Prime is changing some things up on y'all, and you
Prime users take this free shipping thing seriously.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Oh, it's not bad news for me, it's bad news
for Yes, two girls named Ava and Annalise.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yes, you all will understand why. There are people who
maybe on your Amazon Prime coattails right now that are
going to have to get all who will explain the
major change they are making. And of course when I
say congratulations about somebody just getting engaged, her mine automatically
goes to Taylor.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Oh, yes, Taylor and Travis right, still riding on that high.
Sorry forgot about it.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Okay, we got another new high. We have a US senator. Yes,
Cory Booker is engaged. Did you see the p I did?
Very cool? They look very happy, very cool backdrop as well.
It lays around the Hawaii right. Yeah, but we'll tell
you about his announcement. But yes, Corey Booker is engaged. Also,
I want to remind you as always that phone right

(01:16):
now take a look Apple Podcasts app top right corner
says follow. Just click that button. You can get our
updates anytime. You don't have to go searching for them. Also,
on the run this morning, we do want to give
you the update about what happened in Houston. There are
charges now in that deadly ding Dong ditch prank. Also,
Trump gives another proof of life yesterday and in the

(01:37):
meantime says he's sending the National Guard into another city. Also,
we got all those Epstein files, thirty three two and
ninety five pages. You know what's in it? Damn near nothing, nada.
But we begain our run on this Wednesday with breaking news.
The President's alive. Yes, the President is alive and well.

(01:57):
He seems to be doing just fine. For anybody who
had doubts or fed into the recent online frenzy that
the President had died, there he was in the White
House and all his glory, holding court with the presspool
yesterday in true Trump fashion.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yes, and it's almost as if he took advantage of
the situation, right, because the rumors really got going over
the weekend with Trump dead trending on social media at
one point, all fueled by the fact that the president
didn't have any public events scheduled for several days. So
he was asked about the rumors of his demise and
responded by first taking a swipe at his predecessor, because

(02:33):
why not, I didn't do any events for two days,
and they said there must be something wrong with him.
Biden wouldn't do him for months, You wouldn't see him,
and nobody ever said there was anything wrong with him. Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
The president then claimed that he had not been keeping
up with the coverage, saying it's fake news. It's just
so fake. And he added this, I was very active
this Labor Day. Now I don't He kept saying, Oh,
I haven't seen that. I haven't seen that, And then
he commented, well, yeah, they were saying this and so
saying that this guy is just he keeps up.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Uh, there's no way he didn't see that, all right,
But yes, the president's just next up on the run.
We don't know when it is happening, but the president
said it is happening. He said he will be sending
the National Guard into Chicago, calling Chicago a hell hole
right now. Trump signaled that he wants to use DC
as the model to put troops on the streets of
Chicago to help slow crime. Now.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
The President has been talking about this for a few
weeks now and has been engaged in ongoing public spats
with leaders in Chicago who say the Guard is not
needed there. He was asked about it yesterday, the President responded,
we're going in again. No specifics about when. I was surprised.
The Governor of Illinois yesterday said his administration hasn't heard
from a single person in the Trump administration. Trump said yesterday,

(03:47):
if the Governor of Illinois would call me up, I
would love to do it. We're gonna do it anyway.
The thing is, it's amazing all this is going on,
and the taministry is spoken, even spoken.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Wow. Well, a judge spoken in California. Yes he ruled
that it was illegal for President Trump to deploy the
National Guard to Los Angeles this summer. The judge said
Trump violated can you are you better at Latin than
I am? Possecommitatus Act?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
You just nailed it all right.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
That apparently limits the power of the federal government to
use military force for domestic matters.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, this comes just as Trump is trying to send
the National Guard into other places like Chicago we just mentioned.
And the White House didn't seem faced what soever by
the judge's decision, so they put out a statement and
first attacked the judge, saying, quote, a rogue judge is
trying to usurp the authority of the Commander in chief
to protect American cities from violence and destruction. The President

(04:41):
is committed to protecting law abiding citizens and this will
not be the final say on the issue. End quote.
The ruling is on hold until September twelfth, and the
Trump administration plans.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
To appeal meantime. This is my favorite part of the story.
California Governor Gavin Newsom reacted to the ruling, saying the
court sided with democracy and the constitution, which then elicited
a response from the President, who said he may need
to send troops back to la because the governor there
is very weak and needs his help.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
I would prefer this sounds off. Just set a boxing match.
Just set a fight between the two of them, Just
get it over with, and whoever loses has to shut up.
How about that? There's an idea, all right? Next up
on the run. Now it is done, folks. Let this
be the end of it. The Epstein files are out.

(05:33):
They have been released, and a damn thing new in there.
According to Democrats and Republicans rolled this was supposed to
be a big deal because these are the documents that
the Justice Department said they were not going to release.
But now they're out. All right, I mean it will

(05:53):
never be over, but everybody, yes, we said on the
House Committee Oversight Committee website. You can go to that website,
go to press releases, and if you want to do
some reading, it is all there for you right now.
Continuing on the run, Now, congratulations to Senator Corey Booker.
This guy's life and his dating life has been fodder

(06:13):
for some but of interest because he stayed very very
private over the years. He's fifty six, has never been married.
But Corey Booker is engaged now. The New Jersey Democrat
made the announcement on social media, which included several photos
of the proposal, the ring and yes, his fiance Alexis Lewis.
We'll stay with us, ear folks on this It's Wednesday,

(06:36):
on this Wednesday Morning Run. We do have an awful
story out of Houston. We do have an update on
We saw this coming, but yes, charges filed in the
death of a child there who was playing a prank.
And you Amazon Prime users are going to be getting
calls from your second cousins and your kids and all

(06:57):
those people you let piggyback off your account.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Before we go to break, I have to tell you
about new leggings I've been living in lately. They're from
this brand called Tona, and fun fact here, they were
actually designed by the same visionary behind Lululemon. So from
that alone, you already know they're going to be pretty good.
These leggings feel like a second skin. They're super flattering,
super comfortable, and somehow still supportive. I've been wearing them

(07:23):
on my warning runs and they've quickly become my everyday
lounging leggings too. And here's what makes them even better.
Every pair you buy helps fund a mental health counseling
session for a teen in need. Tona's on a mission
to end teen suicide and self harm, which we think
is so important and incredible. So we've partnered with Tona
to give you twenty percent off your order and free shipping.

(07:46):
Head to Tonaactive dot com and use code iHeart for
twenty percent off and free shipping.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Continuing on this Wednesday morning run, Now we head to Houston,
where police have charged a forty two year old man
with murder after they say he shot and killed an
eleven year old boar Julian Guzman for playing a childhood prank.
Police say Gonzala Lyon Junior opened fire on Guzman as
he was running away from the house after ringing his doorbell. Now,

(08:25):
the suspect here Leon, has a second quarter appearance later
today where prosecutors will ask the judge to said bond
at a million dollars. Prosecutors say they are considering seeking
a capital murder charge against him. Given the age of
Guzman eleven, those are tough deep What is the point?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
That's just his rage? It sounds like.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Rage is the word. Whoever's running away from you, if
they're eleven or they're forty one, they're not a threat. No,
twenty feet away and running away from you that is.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
And police say when they raided his home they found
a cache of guns. So yes, this is he's facing
potentially capital murder. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Uh, final leg of the run here all right? Amazon
is cracking down on a prime perk for its prime users.
Soon you will no longer be able to share free
shipping benefits with one person outside of your home. It
was called the Prime Invitee program and it's ending October first.

(09:21):
They're essentially just trying to cut down on people. I mean,
like Netflix was doing and all these other too much sharing.
Now get your own account, all right, folks, before we
let you go on this Wednesday, something we would like
for you to consider it is our quote of the day.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start
being excited about what could go right.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
I encourage I've done this, and practice this anytime you
find yourself saying something could go wrong. Right, we're going
to the airport today, Oh my goodness, it's raining. There's
the flight going to be delayed. Da every negative thing
you have, just counter it. If instead of thinking about
what could go wrong, what could go right? Man, maybe
we'd get a great uber today. What if a flight's

(10:04):
a little early. What if nobody's sitting across the aisle
from us? What if our flight attendant is just a
wonderful lady from the south right?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
All everything right, It's so much better to go in
with that attitude. Even when things start going wrong, something
has to go right in the process, So focus on that.
I love it, so stop being afraid of what could
go wrong and start being excited about what could go right.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
We're going to follow up the moro and I sayd YEA.
Our flight was canceled. I'm kidding, everything's going to go right.
And with that, folks, hope everything goes as right as
it can for you and your day, but we always
appreciate you running with us.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
I'm TJ and I made Robock have a great Wednesday.
