Speaker 1 (00:03):
Reality with the King is hosted by me, Carlos King.
I'm an executive producer who have produced some of your
favorite shows from the Real Housewives in Atlanta, New Jersey
and my own creation, The Love and Marriage Franchise and
Bell Collective. Every episode we recap reality television from the
Real Housewives Franchise to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset, in

(00:27):
addition to celebrity guests, whether in the unscripted space or
scripted as well. Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular,
never the same, totally unique. In the words of Lady
Guy Guy that I just quoted, that is how I'm

(00:50):
describing episode two.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Of the Real Housewives of sal La City.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Oh my god, Now this is what I've been waiting.
This is the show I signed up for. This is
the show that I said was competing with OC when
it comes to the best housewives out there and plenty.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I don't know whose idea.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Was And guess what you are forgiven to make last
week's premiere the premiere.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
That was not premiere last.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Week, Baby, that was a disaster. This episode, episode two.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I mean this should have been the premiere. I was
thoroughly entertained. This episode was so amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
I am smiling from ear to ear like the joker,
not the one lady God, I was the child.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Because that particular what are you gonna call that child?
A spinoff? I don't know. We all didn't watching it.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
But we're all watching Salt Lake City this season because
my girls are back. I'm going to forget about last
week's episode. I am going to go to the old
chaateau Charae, dig it up, child, put that premiere.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Down under hey to my Aussie rain robs. I am
going to cover it.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
With dirt and grass because I never want to see
it again. I mean, I am too thrilled to recap
this episode.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Because it was that good. It was that enjoyable.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
And listen, I'm gonna say this, and I know I'm
gonna piss the girls off when I say this, based
on how amazing this episode was. There is no Salt
Lake City without Lisa Barlow. I mean, let's have a
real conversation. Was she the mystic link In last week's episode,

(02:58):
Lisa Barlo was not featured, well, her name was, but
Lisa Barlow herself was not featured as a cast member
in the premiere episode.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
And I didn't like it. I told you guys, and
y'all reading me for a film.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
In the comments, y'all said, Carlos lighting up, what happened
to your.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Sense of humor? Salt Lake City is camp. This is
what we.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Love and I'm like, girl, calm down, I said, Birdbay Tom.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
This episode just wasn't it.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
However, I'm going to watch the rest of the season
because last season's premiere I don't like either. But I
ended up enjoying the entire season overall. And that's why
in dynay, okay, y'all said to me, well, Carlos, points
were made, but I didn't like it, and that's fine.
I tripping.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
I didn't like it. I don't like it all.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Now, the beauty of you all listening to reality for
the King is because you are going to listen to
the expert opinion from a producer who's going to give
you guys some insight. And no, this isn't like confidential
t It's more so like I need you guys to

(04:22):
see things through my eyes based on me being a producer.
That's the beauty of reality with the King. Okay, So
I'm going to like walk y'all through the nuances. Some
of y'all may have picked it up, some may not. Oh,
because let's be clear before I move on to episode two,

(04:45):
A lot of my brain drops did say, Carlos, I
agree with you. I thought the episode premiere was performative
as well.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
So there y'all have it.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Instead of going to the Kim Kardashian School of Law
that Lisa want's to go to, I like the fact
that my rain drops.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Are going to the University of Reality.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Of the King really get the real education of reality television.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
So let's get into it.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
It's obvious and I'm shaking. I'm literally shaking as I'm
saying this. Lisa Barlow is a show and this episode
proved it. Last episode was a disaster. What I informed
you guys is allegedly Lisa Barlow did not show up

(05:43):
to filming for the first couple of weeks because she
was negotiating her contract. Now, I on one hundred percent
believe that. Okay, allegedly, because let me let me tell
y'all something, they realized that Lisa Barlow is somebody who

(06:05):
is needed on the show. They had to give us
a premiere episode about the trip because they knew they
had to get right into the mess. And because Lisa
Barla came back guns blazing based on what was said
about her on the trip, the producers knew they had

(06:29):
to start the premiere with the trip. And now I
get it because as they were watching the footage without
Lisa Barlow being on the show filming, they realized nothing
was there. They realized it was season four chatau Chera.
They realized it was nothing to be seen.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
They realized that they did.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
So with that being said, they had to scrap all
of the b roll honey, which we call that beta role.
That's when you just shoot, you know, scenic moment, the landmarks,
child the street, the traffic lights.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Honey, you're not shooting anything of importance. But when you
are shooting.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Now that Lisa Bralo is back, it's a motherfucking show.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Lisa Barlow is the show.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
I can't see Salt Lake City as of right now
without Lisa Barlow. And the reason why Lisa Bralo came
back guns blazing. I'm gonna tell you my theory, so listen.
I have worked on reality shows my whole life. Where
the moment you start filming, that's when the reality start
feels like, oh, I have negotiating power, and they oftentimes

(07:48):
use that to renegotiate the contract.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
It's a ballsy move because not everybody.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Is a is a necessary e ball right, And I'm
I'm not calling Lisa Barlow evil before y'all make that
the headline. Child, it's a figure of speech. Okay, let's
just say necessity, all right. So it's a dangerous move
to play because I've seen it ring drops where some

(08:18):
people try to say.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
I'm not filming to tell my contract is.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Right, and baby, we be filming and don't even need them,
and they grabble back. Now, based on what I've seen,
Lisa Barlow came back angry. My spidey sense, it tells
me that Lisa bralo that Lisa Barlow did not get
everything she wanted, but she got something.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
I don't think she gave.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Everything away that she wanted, but I death believe out
of the one hundred things she wanted, I believe she
may have got ten percent of it. And the reason
why I say that is because she came back angry.
But she also came back like, okay, I have something
to prove too.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Does that make sense? She was activated in this episode.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
So if she did not get anything she wanted, she
would have crawled back and was like, whatever, y'all to
give me anything, whatever, do this show without me.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
I believe they gave her something similarly.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
In my opinion expert opinion that is, remember when Erica
Jane had that. I think it was like two or
three episodes of her.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
It was a special. I'm gonna say spin off.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Erica Jane had a two to three episode special about
her tour.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
That came on right after Biley Hills wrapped.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
I do not put nine percent believe that Erica had
to renegotiate her contract and they gave her a three
episode special, So don't be surprised if y'all see a
baby gorgeous special. Child Lisa got something. Lisa did like
and everything, But Lisa damn sure got something ca Lisa

(10:14):
was not playing with the.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Girls, honey.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Now, before we get to Lisa's awesomeness, let's talk about
what happens episode.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
The reason why.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
I love, love, love, love love this episode is because
we were diving into personal story.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
This episode was perfect because it opened up with Whitney
Rose talking about what's going.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
On with her failed business and This is the Whitney
Rose I love to watch. She's vulnerable, she's gorgeous, and
she's honest. I feel so bad for what she's going through.
Being an entrepreneur is not easy, especially when you are

(10:54):
venturing off into something that you may not be the
expert in, but you trying something new.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
And my favorite part of the conversation was when.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Whitney talked about like, she doesn't know how to describe
what this looks like. Yes, it failed, but does that
mean she's a failure? Does that mean she needs to
move away from it? Does she need to pivot? Because
these are all things that entrepreneurs have to deal with,
right And I just really love her honesty when it

(11:31):
came to the fact that listen, she was real that
her and her husband decided to take one business, merge
them together with the second business so that it could
be one company, and unfortunately it didn't work, although in
the beginning it had massive success. That's the beauty of

(11:54):
Whitney Rose story. And even when they said when they
played the lashback of what happened.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Last week and they show her talking about it with
her husband.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
These are things that I would have wanted to see
them first episode, but again because Lisa wasn't their child,
they had to scrap off the footage and made sure
that Lisa was back at least by episode two. Because
what they did not want to do is give Lisa
too much and say, Okay, we're gonna bring you back
episode one. They had to teach Lisa a lesson. So
Lisa did not get paid for the first episode, but

(12:28):
she did get paid rightfully, so for the second one.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Okay, I'd like Russ.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
The other beautiful think about this episode personal story was
we got a chance to go and see what Mary
Cosby was going through with her son Robert Jr. Again,
a very touching scene. It's it's the continuation of what
we saw last season where Robert Jr. Talked about his

(12:58):
drug addiction and what he was going going through in
regards to that and Mary. When Mary was at the
trip of the girls, I love the fact that.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
She even lamented on the fact that she doesn't know.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
How these other ladies do it raising more than one
kid because she only has one, and you know, she
talks about just how difficult it is. And I love
the fact that she gave the other girls pops when
it came to that. So as we saw in the
episode where Mary's talking to Robert Jr. He's pretty much

(13:33):
admitting that not everything is perfect when it comes to
his sobriety, that obviously.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
He does smoke weed.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
He didn't really go in through specifics about what he's doing,
but I think we all sort of reverent in the
lines that it appears that he is still struggling with
drugs that could be.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Allegedly outside of weed.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
And one thing that Mary did say that is very
true is the fact that when you're dealing with something
like that, you do have to take it one day
at a time. My thoughts prayers really goes out to
Robert Jr. Because dealing with substance abuse is very challenging

(14:19):
and it's not as easy as people may think it is.
It's very hard. And I give Mary Cosby so much
props for being good for her son and also being patient,
because one thing I want the.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
World to know is the drum the alcoholism. Whatever your addiction.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Is, it turns you into somebody that could be unrecognizable
because the addiction overtakes your body, your mind, body consoled.
And I love that Mary isn't looking at Robert Jr.

(15:07):
As somebody who should get over it. I love the
fact that she's looking at Robert Jr. As somebody who
who where the addiction has overtaken her son's body, and
she understands that, and she understands that it's not his fault.
She understands that it literally is one day at a time,

(15:29):
it really is. And what we have learned last week
was the fact that Robert Jr. Was arrested and accused
of assault at trespassing. According to some court records, you know, unfortunately,
he was charged with assault, failure to stop at the

(15:52):
command of an officer, criminal trespass of a dwelling in
three counts, a violation of.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
A generalize court order.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
So look, it's something that he is struggling with, possibly
possibly currently. But yes, my heart goes out at him.
It's not easy. It's not easy. And married prayers seriously
for you as a mom and for your household.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
It was tough to watch. It was definitely tough to watch,
so sad. One thing that we have to be into, honey,
is the mess. Okay, Lisa is back with her bone

(16:47):
straight hair, Honey.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
She came straight from the beauty bar, all right, she's
back filming. She got ten percent of what she wanted
her contract job at least is ready to play Heather,
who is doing her job. So props to Heather. It's
giving Lisa all the tea on what she missed for.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
The past couple of weeks. Wink wink. Of filming, Lisa
is visibly upset.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
She learns that Bronwin was talking about her lawsuits and
everything else. She asked Heather who stood up for her.
Heather said what I did, and she said that did Meredith.
Heather's like, oh, I mean she kind of did in
the beginning, but then she stopped, like, Heather, I actually

(17:40):
disagree with you.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
I think Meredith definitely had Lisa's back.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
But my think is this, at what point do you
say I defended you and then they kept talking about it?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
What more do you want me to do? I'm not
gonna argue with these girls.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Every five minutes they talk about your impending lawsuits or
your dismissals. I thought Meredon was a good friend who
at Lisa said something, so I thought Heather added some
stink to it, But that's have this job and low key.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
I'm not mad at it, but baby Lisa gag even Heather. Okay,
when Lisa.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Said that none of the ladies on this show baby
own the same kind of businesses that she does, and
how she lives a very different life of all of them. Baby,
Lisa ate that one up. Lisa, let them know. I'm
the force multiplier. I'm the Lisa Veranda Pump of the show.
I am Richie Rich's daughter. Baby, I live a highlight.

(18:41):
You girls can't compare to me and Heather, who took
it to her confessionals instead of saying it in her face.
So rain drops always look out when the girls are
confessional gangsters. We don't respect confessional gangst us. Don't hide

(19:02):
behind your confessional reading a girl, especially when she's right
in front of your face and you don't say it
to her face.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
We don't like that and we don't respect it.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
So Havening took offense to it in her confessional.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
But neglected to say it in front of Lisa.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
And that's why Lisa says it, because Lisa's like, you
just say to me the moment, because guess what, you
low key know I'm right. So Lisa's pissed and she
felts a shot at Bronwin.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
When she talks about how she is not the bottom
bitch and how we just got to get into it.
We gotta get into it, we gotta get into it.
We just have to. She says that.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
No one sees the bottom, baby, they go to the top.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
And look, she was right about that.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
I mean, listen, in her defense, that is true, that
is true when lawsuits happen, you go for the top,
you don't go for the bottom. So Lisa ate that
one up because she's not lying about it. She's actually
telling the truth and nothing about the truth. So help
you God. But Lisa did say like these lawsuits were
dismissed and how there was one at the other and look,

(20:22):
she looks pissed because I think two reasons. I think one,
she's pissed because who wants that to be a topic
of a conversation that she has to live through again
once the episodes are airing, So I get that. And
then on top of that, allegedly, you know this guy

(20:43):
he was suing her, is saying how according to broad
Wind Kardashian Esquire, this guy's alleging that Lisa.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Was getting her amate is paid.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
By him, and how she owes him money and she
told him not to tell her husband John. That's all alleged,
but it is a court document that bravn read on
the Salt Lake Tribune.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Honey, because that's what Brava does, child, And guess what
I do too. So I'm here for a bromin.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
So then Brahmin talks with me about how how Lisa
did default on repayment and claims to have text messages
where she acknowledges the debt that she owes this guy.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
So what we're learning is these let me gonna say these.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Brodwin is alleging, obviously that Lisa allegedly had an affair
on John, her husband, this guy who is paying her
American Express. I can't even get a guy to pay
for my three wings and a biscuit at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

(22:11):
I can't get a guy to pay for a valet
when we act for the restaurant. I can't get a
guy to pay for two holes at top Off. But hey, Lisa,
if you're able as a married woman to get a
man to pay.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
For your MX, I mean I'm all for it. Hey,
Lisa's that bitch? Now listen, I'm not adulting cheating.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
But hey, if Lisa's doing this and John knows, it's
not like Salt Lake City is as big as Texas,
so I feel like, perhaps, if this is true, John
knows what's up allegedly allegedly allegedly.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Okay, so there we have it.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Now, Lisa comes to the party, baby guns blazing the
ball straight buzz down hair. She has baby with the
part in the middle. She's looking like a Tresta may model.
Baby Lisa looks gorgeous. She's wearing black to din these bitches.
Go ahead for shup out of knaw, I was wearing
black because out of dalls going ready to din these bitches.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
That is season nine, episode twelve. Okay, the little history
for you guys.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Okay, So Lisa walks in, still activated because she got
ten percent of her negotiation, so she now feels the
need to give the production a good episode. Okay, she
walks in. She immediately goes and talks to Meredith and

(23:51):
she's on fire. She's like, oh, you defend me. Maredith's like, look, bitch,
I did like what you're talking about. Then Britney comes
in and Brittany talks her about how you know they
were comparing Lisa to jen Shaw, and that's when Lisa
lost it. Lisa confronts Angie because Angie's like you, I mean,

(24:12):
Lisa feels like her and Angie were friends, so for
her to compare her to jen Shaw, She's like, look, bitch,
that's not okay because I defindhed you last season and
Lia wanted to flash back to that.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
So Angie's trying to eat off of her choco.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Could be board honey in the open bar champagne she had,
and Lisa tries to go from her baby nobody because
Brahmin in the corner. Brahm's like, look, honey, you're not
the start of the show. I know you came back
after missing a couple of weeks of filming. We all

(24:48):
know you got something, but let's be clear, you have
nothing without me. Brahmin wanted a piece of that action.
The fact that Brahmin, which was such a smart housewife
move and on which all aspis acted this way. It
was so amazing broad when the star you are baby,
give her a golden globe? H something, baby, people's choice.

(25:14):
I don't know, baby, a w w E bail give
brother something?

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Baby. It was amazed, It really was.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Bromin came in and said, well, I'm the one who
said it, so cut from me. And then Lisa's like,
you're dismissed. Brother was like, I'm dismissed. You need to
be pleaded with the judge to dismiss the loss suits
that are against you.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Brother. When ate that one? Uh?

Speaker 1 (25:52):
She ate it up?

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Lisa calls broad when a goup dick sucker?

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Now somebody who participates in activity.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
As a willing participant in activities, Lisa, what does a
gout dick look like? I have never seen one, and
I'm a gay man, so I've seen you know, like
you know, I've seen the phase.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
I've never seen a gout dick. I don't know what
it looks like. So what I'm gonna chat GPT.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
And I asked, chat GPT, Okay, what is a gout dick?
Because I just feel like this is an educational podcast
that's on the same level as you.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Know, the business podcast be listened to.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
I needed to know exactly what a gout dick is.
So I went on my chat GPT app, which, by
the way, Chat GPT give me a sponsorship because I'm
promoting your your your your your business Okay, so I
typed in chat GPT, what is a gouth dick?

Speaker 2 (27:19):
This is what came up.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
The phrase gout dick isn't a standard medical term. It
sounds like slaying. Oh, a joke, mash up of two
different things. Gout a type of arthritis caused by uric
acid crystals building up in the joints, leading to painful swelling,
often in the big toe, but it can't affect other

(27:45):
joints too.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Chat GPT goes on to say gout.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Paint happening in the penis, which isn't typical because gout
usually of afects joints, not genital's. Chat GPT did say,
if someone's saying this, they're using it as an insult,
combining a painful disease with crude slave. This is the

(28:21):
best podcast in the history podcast.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Because who else is going to define gouth dick to
the rain drops for me? Okay, thank you, Chat GPT.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
The funniest thing after that, this is where Whitney Brow
shines to me because she goes to her confessionals like
gout dick, who has gouth?

Speaker 2 (28:45):
I've heard of gout? This is like amazing, This is amazing,
This is amazing.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
So obviously Lisa is digging at Brahma's husband's age, and
then she just her again, saying, Braman, you gotta subdict
to my clothes, get your clothes.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
And promise, like, yeah, bitch, it's my husband. Of course
I sub dit. I enjoy doing it. And I'm like, exactly, bro,
since we was sucking id of know, it's an issue,
and I don't think at least said I love you down.
That was only good read promise married.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
I mean, if I have to get on my knees
to get some meme and Marcus American Express a CARNEI bracelet,
baby gout, I'm all about, yes, honey, the gout I
am all about if I'm able to live a life
that probably lives. Baby gout me down, honey, gout in me,

(29:48):
outside of me and through me.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
So they're going back and forth over this insult.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Brothera said exactly, Lisa, my husband pays for my clothes,
but they were your ax.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Bill then for a season, tell her cash.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
We're clear up the lawsuit, Lisa, not you pointing your
finger in my face.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Lisa versus Brabyn.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Listen, it was a tie until Brown said that Robin
won now shouldn't bear by landslide child.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
I'm not gonna say all of that, but what I
will say.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Is, brahmin ate Lisa up because that shit is funny.
It was not in her confessional she said in her face.
The fact that Lisa's like, I'm gonna clear this up.
I'm gonna create a website and put all the stuff
on there. And the fact that Brahmin said, honey, cash
would clear up the lawsuit. Not putting your finger. I mean, listen,

(30:59):
this episode deserves me. It was fantastic. Carlos King the
first I'm happy to report this is what you call
an episode. I stand by the fact that I did
not like the premiere, and I don't care what y'all think.
If y'all disagree with me, that's fine, but this is
