If I have to make a blanket statement about Panamanian's

It keeps us raw fresh, running in the opposite direction
which can come off as crazy, and we are crazily talented.

these massages, don't move.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
One of the best opportunities that you feel like the
industry is providing right now for artists to like be
their best sells, Like what's working that they're offering, and.

Speaker 7 (10:30):

Speaker 7 (12:15):
You're okay, Okay, we should start championing again, champions.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
Like I said, no, but it's true. That's the first
tament you know, I'm an you know about the group,
and that's that's pretty much the.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Mold of like our culture right one way, and that's
how we like the format things.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
And it's like, I think it's cool that in hip hop,
like I'm Cardi B Andnglorella, you're Nikki, you know, they're
so different and they're all celebrated at the same time, right,
another lot of like.

Speaker 7 (12:57):
The only thing of Cause Temple, I mean, yeah, Yeahla
is getting.

Speaker 10 (13:23):
You know, Yes, I'm.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Okay, okay, then, but that said, and my last question
really like what does it mean to shift culture?

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Like you know, every artist stream, it doesn't matter if
it's mainstream or underground.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Like I feel like, you know, the space, it's big,
it is, but it's also now like we're all in
the same ron, right, so I feel like, you know,
everybody sees each other, like you know, you have collaborated
with some really great artists as well, and then they
real recognized real you know, and then which case you're
you're leaving your mark Marc with Champion.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Then but you know your artistry, what does that mean.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
For you to like leave that mark honestly?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Like Joe.

Speaker 7 (14:19):
And Yo, yeah, okay, I said the full Okay, you're so.

Speaker 6 (14:43):
Little chances the dec and sim.

Speaker 11 (14:52):
Soame you know, God, guy did I with Guy?

Speaker 2 (15:07):
You know?

Speaker 6 (15:08):
Okay, I get that you hallow yallow town local poke, so.

Speaker 7 (15:14):
Said so como no I mass representation said local local
local pal Joe. I made peace with that, well, you know,
and I said, yeah, Periment said, but pack that's masses

(15:37):
massas consume, mark consume big machines. So marked metoka.

Speaker 8 (15:46):
Forma.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
He said, okay yo, yeah, I just I'm just I
made peace with being a heading gem. Like literally, I'm like,
I treat my career as a heating gem.

Speaker 8 (15:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (15:59):
So there's like I tell, do you know.

Speaker 8 (16:06):
Your world?

Speaker 6 (16:09):
And we went to okay, I've been consistent.

Speaker 7 (16:13):
So I'm a hitting Jim and and I'm in peace
with that, you see, you know. I mean, I'm in
peace with being this vinyl that is like gold and
it's worth a lot of money. Like that's how I
feel about my career, is like this is this.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Is a hitting Jim will be like yes, yes, yeah,
thank you so much for being here.

Speaker 8 (16:48):
I deal.

Speaker 12 (17:00):
So, first of all, he's one of the more talented
people I've had the pleasure of knowing throughout the years
in this crazy industry.

Speaker 10 (17:06):
In to be quite honest, here, we interviewed.

Speaker 12 (17:09):
Twice to be able to capture something epic by I
was skeptical about going there from my analysis, but I'm
gonna take it there. Let's talk about racism and the
Latin music industry really quickly, because honestly, it's just ridiculous. Okay,
So in the industry, there are these phenomenons that exists
for people of color that skate past the line of
tokenization and just straight kopy. I'm going to flow the

(17:32):
all the now for the people who are wondering, are
there any industry wide type didty.

Speaker 10 (17:38):
Scenarios in this industry. No, but that doesn't mean that
there aren't predators.

Speaker 12 (17:42):
Side note, Diddy was looking to do business in Latin
music during the time of the rollout of his last album,
The Love Album.

Speaker 10 (17:50):
I actually met him, interviewed him, hogged him.

Speaker 12 (17:54):
I've been in shock since the allegations dropped from PASSI,
but that's a story for another day.

Speaker 10 (17:59):
My point is there are many things I had to learn.

Speaker 12 (18:02):
About the creative process, cloud, who's in power, and the
rise of an artist throughout.

Speaker 10 (18:06):
The years, and what talent actually means.

Speaker 12 (18:09):
Talent in the industry to me, means to be able
to carry artistically and see projects to completion. In my opinion,
some of the most talented indie artists are the ones
putting out music on a consistent basis, because much of
the development process they take on themselves. Talent in this
industry means being involved in your creative process, but also

(18:30):
keeping up when other brilliant minds join the room. It's
one thing for you to be brilliant, but it's another
thing for you to be in a room full of
other brilliant people. You really got to like remind people
while you're there. And I feel like that's fair. The
best of the best should be with the best of
the best. And where I'm going is, I've noticed the
Latin industry on the business side. It's filled with a
lot of women, yay, which I love to see as

(18:53):
a plus. But women can and regularly do hold up
patriarchy and most of.

Speaker 10 (18:58):
Them being white, forget about it. I'm reeling it in.
Stay with me.

Speaker 12 (19:02):
The truth is, in the industry, people see talent coming
from a black person and think, how can apply this
to somebody else or something else.

Speaker 10 (19:11):
We're a different product.

Speaker 12 (19:12):
And if you think I'm thinking I'm the bull yas
I am, the truth is, I mean, look at everything
going on with these ice raids right. A ton of
people in these industries are frozen, right, everybody's mad.

Speaker 10 (19:24):
Oh, people aren't speaking up whatever.

Speaker 12 (19:26):
And I'm gonna tell you something, as someone who's been
speaking up my whole career, these people wouldn't know what
to say even if you gave them talking points. Why,
because of the way racism works in this industry. It's
systemic and it keeps a lot of people in power
ignorant a and osalaether.

Speaker 10 (19:43):
Okay, So bringing it.

Speaker 12 (19:45):
Back and why the hell did I mention day because
if y'all knew the weird fucking dynamics that I experience
coming out of that scenario after that press day when
the allegations came out, and the way people were eager
to say people are always trying to hold him down
really aka dedicated to not seeing the abuse for what
it was aka holding up patriarchy aka also racism because

(20:09):
to tell me a black women's that to my face,
it's kind of crazy and all of that. What because
the allegations were too early. If I start talking, everybody's
about it. Beat this now where talented acts like Nino,
I'm going there because the truth is people see greatness,
act like they don't see greatness and play with the
time of black people and Latin music just say.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
But mas.

Speaker 12 (20:34):
Like another way, like yo, they here, look at the
hit That's all I got for a lot a lot.

Anybody can be vibe in sway.

Speaker 16 (32:54):
It could be any type of people, any different type
of cultures that brings everybody in. It doesn't matter if
you're Latin or not. Everybody loves Segaton.

Speaker 12 (33:01):
And what are you enjoying about Hegaton right now?

Speaker 16 (33:04):
In this moment, I feel like what I really love
what Regaton right now? I love that by Bunny, he's
bringing in a lot of Americans to Puerto Rico. For
his answer, He's basically like, if you guys want to
hear my music, if you guys want to see my concert,
come to Puerto Rico, bring some money in to the locals.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
And yeah, I love that.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
And what's about Hagaton they like the most?

Speaker 16 (33:26):
I like Pereo. I really like early two thousands, like
luciandel Ali that okay, okay, okay, and anything that you're like,
we can do without this right now, we can do
with Spaniards coming into Reggaeton. Why because Reggaton originated. Reggaeton

(33:51):
came for reggae, which is from Jamaicans. Jamaicans came into
Panama to help with the canal and that's how Regaton
became about and has been doing the thing with Regaton,
which we very much appreciate, but we gotta give kudos
to where it came from, to be honest.

Speaker 10 (34:10):
So like, why is it bad that spangers come in,
Like they can't come in?

Speaker 16 (34:14):
They could come in if it's collaborated with the right
people that know their ship, that are.

Speaker 10 (34:19):
