bestowed upon me. I know we are human and we
will make mistakes. Please help me to remember to always
be patient and kind, compassionate and loving, forgiving and understanding.
May our faith and our trust in You strengthen our

(00:44):
love and bond with one another. Thank you Lord, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
In the summer of twenty pen, I spend it going
through my pastor's book because zone it was the Hebrew
that's a Hebrew word meaning a dream, a revelation, or
a vision. And I knew, just like I did earlier
in my life, that God was leading me somewhere, but
this time I wanted to embrace it. This time I
wanted to figure out what He was telling me to do,

(01:16):
what He wanted me to do. And as I went
through that book and really saw things I was passionate about,
I began to develop this vision of God wanted me
to do something with marriage. Sure, I was counseling people
in marriage, but I've seen a lot of kids then too,
and I think I begin to see that if I'm
going to help these kids a lot, we'll get help
these marriages too. So from that came the foundation for

(01:41):
us the marriage. And I knew, without a doubt the
rest of my life would be spent helping people have
God honoring, fulfilling marriages. It was as clear as night
and day.

Speaker 1 (01:56):

in the middle of our marriages. We learn about the

how he and his wife of more than fifty years, Nancy,
are trying to model what a great marriage is to

explains it wasn't that these couples just stayed or existed together.
They had a passion for marriage, They enjoyed each other,

(02:42):
they shared a life together, they grew together, and they
worked hard together to resolve things, and they never had
divorce as an option. We learn how doctor Kim and
Nancy went through a rough patch and how they decided
to take divorce off the table, which changed they approach
problems in conflict. As doctor Kim explains, it became now

(03:05):
we have to solve this if we're not getting divorced.
I don't want to live miserable for fifty years. I
want to live with someone I love. We hear about
doctor Kim's goal to have a zero divorce rate amongst Christians.
As doctor Kim says, he believes this can happen if
every Christian couple really prepares before they get married. As

(03:26):
doctor Kim explains, this also means being willing to not
get married if the relationship isn't right, but if the
marriage is right, then Doctor Kim encourages us to lean
into God's plan for marriage. If we put that first,
if we take divorce off the table, and if we're
willing to work through whatever, and we're willing to seek
God in our marriage, to pray with our spouses, then

(03:49):
it makes a difference. Doctor Kim teaches us that God
can work miracles in the worst situations in marriage, we
just have to let him in. Kim reminds us that
God loves everyone, every single one of us, no matter
how hard we may be to love. We learn how
God has taught doctor Kim to listen well, to not

(04:11):
be judgmental, and to never try to be someone's holy spirit.
That job's already taken, and his job is to change
and mold people. As doctor Kim says, God has taught
him when to get out of the way and when
God wants doctor Kim to come alongside. All these lessons
have helped doctor Kim in his marriage too. As doctor

(04:34):
Kim teaches us, in every situation, God has got this
and all we need to do is follow God's lead.
We also hear how doctor Kim hopes that Awesome Marriage,
the technology based ministry he started in twenty ten outlives
him for a long time and that God can still
use it to change marriages. As doctor Kim explains, he

(04:56):
expects it will look different and there will be different
faces involved, but the mission he hopes will remain. As
doctor Kim says he truly believes that a world full
of awesome marriages will lead to great change. Famous person
quote takeaway for the day when I haven't learned to
love God better than my earthly dearest, I shall love
