Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey guys, and welcome back to another week of Giadiaries.
Today we are going to reflect on Next Gen NYC.
I can't believe it, but our first season has come
to an end. I think this season on Next Gen
NYC has taught me a lot of lessons. It was
very different being in the front seat rather than being

(00:26):
in the back seat behind my mom on The Real
Housewives in New Jersey. And I also think there were
different roles being played that I had to get used to.
On the Real Housewives in New Jersey. I was my
mom's right hand man. I was the voice of reason.

(00:48):
I always tried to give advice and help her and
myself through personal situations. Growing up, I was always in
mom mode from when I was fifteen years old even
before that, just being an older sister, it's very natural
for you to take on a lot more responsibility than.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Your younger sisters.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
So then throughout my life, with everything my family has
gone through, I've had to take on a lot more
responsibility in my household.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Which has always.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Made me go into mom mode. Even sometimes with my friends,
I always try to make sure that they're not getting
in trouble, and if they are in a situation, I
will defend my friend till the end. I never like
to see my friends upset. I never need to. I
never like to see my friends upset. I never like

(01:44):
to see my friends hurt. And I get very protective.
So when we were sitting at that dinner table in
Atlantic City, I honestly thought that Riley was gonna come
off as rude, and I didn't want her to look
like that on camera, so I was trying to protect her.

(02:07):
But then I just need to realize that it's not
my place and I'm allowed to let situations just play
out how they're supposed to play out. Because in the end, Riley,
you were so right and there was no need for
me to insert myself. And like Arianna said, you know, Gia,

(02:27):
just shut the up sometimes. Yeah, sometimes I need to
just shut the up. So it's totally okay and totally normal.
And this was a learning lesson. And I was definitely
a little harsh towards Riley and Georgia when I told
them to shut the cup at the dinner table in

(02:50):
Atlantic City.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
When we were at Ocean's Casino.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
I don't want you guys to think that I was
defending Charlie because throughout the season, and as you guys saw,
there was never really a time where I was told
about the Georgia and Charlie situation where they sat down
in New York City and Charlie went off on her

(03:13):
and said horrible things.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
I was unaware of.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
That situation, which is why I reacted like that in
AC because I was just like, come on, guys, the
kid's here, and I know he's not a kid.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I know he's almost thirty, very aware, but.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I kind of just wanted everyone to chill, relax, just
eat dinner, let this go. And as the season progressed,
you also saw that Charlie and Georgia have made amends
and they are friends again. So that was a point
in time where I should have just kept my mouth
shut because obviously things unfold and things.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Play out how they're supposed to play out in.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
The end, and me saying shut up really didn't make
an effect. Charlie and Georgia are still friends again. So
fast forwarding to AC, when I planned that Italian dinner,
I should have been an active listener instead of trying
to mitigate the situation, and by doing that, I almost

(04:22):
made it worse. So I was never trying to make
Riley feel less than herself or make her feel like
she couldn't say her opinion, because truth be told, Riley's
opinion was one hundred percent correct. I don't think Club
Club was a very good idea either, and Riley voiced

(04:45):
that and she was right. So I think throughout this
season of Next Gen, I did a lot of self reflecting.
I realized that I don't always need to insert myself
into situations. Sometimes being silent is better than trying to

(05:10):
make the situation better, because sometimes I'm not always making
the situation better. And if we get a season two,
I'm really looking forward to showing you guys more about
my career and showing you guys really who I am.
And I think this season of Next Gen was not

(05:31):
the best reflection of who I truly am in the workplace,
what I do every day, and how I treat my friends.
You guys saw me really sticking up for Ariana during
the Ava situation, sticking up for Brooks during the situation

(05:52):
between him and Charlie, and I don't regret sticking up
for my friends, but I also think I could take
a step back and not insert myself as much so
I know I wear my expressions on my face, but wow,
this season of Next Gen, I did not realize how

(06:16):
much you could read how I was feeling without me
even opening my mouth. So my eyes they need to chill,
they really need to chill. I'm actually so happy that
they showed little clips in the finale that they didn't
get to show throughout the season, like the double date

(06:37):
between me, Christian, Ariana and Hudson. It was such a
cute date and I wish you guys got to see
a little more of that. And of course they only
showed the part about when Christian and I are getting
engaged and four years that's an exaggeration. I know Christian
doesn't feel that way now, and I really don't think
he felt that way then, so I don't know why

(06:58):
he said four years. But think about it, that was
a year ago.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Now we're down to three years.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
I mean, it's not that far off, So you know,
I feel like it's very normal when you start dating
so young. We are still so young, so we're just
figuring out life and figuring out our next steps one
day at a time. And yeah, so maybe it is
four years. Maybe you were a right Christian I mean,

(07:26):
he is the one proposing to me, so I guess
it's kind of on his timeline, right. So I'm really
excited if Next Gen is fortunate enough to get a
season two to really show you guys how I'm going
to grow and evolve, because this group has definitely taught

(07:47):
me that and I am so so grateful for that.
I'm also excited to show you guys more into my
career and my relationship and steps that I'm taking in
my life, maybe moving closer to New York City.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Everything happens for a reason.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
This show was definitely a blessing and I am forever
grateful for it, and it also has taught me a
lot of lessons, So thank you.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
