Speaker 1 (00:01):
Morning Run with Amy and TJ and iHeartRadio Podcast. Good morning, everyone,
and welcome to Morning Ron. It is Friday. We made
it July twenty fifth. I'm Amy Robots and I'm TJ Holmes.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
And imagine the horror, folks, you're out of town robes
and somebody breaks in. There's a break in at your
house while you're out of town, and then you end
up being the only one who gets arrested.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
It's kind of mind blowing.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Insult to injury. I suppose that is exactly what happened
to Grammy nominated rapper glow Rilla. We're gonna get into
that this morning and ropes. I don't believe anything I
read for the most part, but I've been hearing that
Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift are dating.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
They are They're a thing.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
I've been hearing about it, Okay, but apparently now it's official,
because no relationship these days is official.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Until it's Instagram official.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Yeah, so that's cool that he posts that he's in.
Everybody into a little bit of a frenzy. And look,
we're doing a public service here now to parents. Whatever
you do, do not let them see the viral Chuck
e Cheese video going around on the internet right now.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
It might scare some kids.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
It's gonna traumatize and ruin this place forever. Chuck E
Cheese got arrested.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah, and it might actually traumatize parents next time they
put their credit card down. So we'll explain that story
as well.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
And also we have to get into this morning we've
been talking about I know a lot of people have
what the hell is going on? Malcolm Jamal Warner, Ozzy Osbourne,
Hulk Hogan now that we'll certainly be talking about him
this morning, passed yesterday. Just we've seen deaths of the
legends icons in a lot of ways, and it's tough
this morning to talk about it. But another death we
have seen of a I guess a jazz legend. You

(01:36):
might not immediately know the name or immediately name the song,
but you immediately when you hear it, you know exactly
what you're listening. We're talking about Chuck Many. He made
one of the most important jazz hits probably ever.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
For what it did takes me right back to my
childhood every time I hear that song. But he has
passed as well.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yes, you reacted immediately when I like the first two notes,
you knew exactly what was being played, So we'll get
into that this morning as well. But also on the run,
let's run it back. The DOJ and Glenne Maxwell will
have a second sit down today after meeting for several
hours yesterday.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
And it's not a good look at all. Less than
a week after Paramount announced it was canceling Colbert, the
Paramount merger was finally given the go ahead by the
Trump administration.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Also, tragedy at a popular water park. A nine year
old kid dies, but details are limited about exactly what
happened to him.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
And the White House is defending President Trump against satirical
accusations that he has a quote teeny tiny penis.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Also on the run this morning, there is a new
executive or Eli like, I went right past the y.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah, you know, we would normally not report on this,
but it has grown into such a fever pitch we
kind of have to.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
And the White House officially is commenting on it.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
So that's what makes it actually a bona fide news story.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Did you really have to say bonaviye?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself, you know, me and
my cheesy fund. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, I apologize.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
And also this morning, there's a new executive order, yes,
that the President says is necessary because the future of
college sports is under unprecedented threat. This could, now, folks,
shake up what is already a pretty shaky and brand
new system of nil deals and millions of dollars and
pay for play. So the President has now inserted himself

(03:29):
into that national debate.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
All right, but we begin our run on this Friday
with that timing that looks oh so bad, really bad.
Exactly one week after CBS said it was canceling Trump
nemesis Stephen Colbert, the mega merger between CBS parent company
Paramount has been approved by the Trump administration.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
The FCC has approved the much talked about deal, the
sale of Paramount to sky Dance Media, in a deal
valued at about eight billion dollars. Now, depending on who
you talk to here, Paramount had been jumping through hoops
to make Trump happy in order to win favor and
get this deal done. In particular, you remember the sixty
minutes settlement that was like, why why would you all settle?
You have a good case. Why are you paying him

(04:09):
sixteen million? A lot of people say, hey, they're trying
to make him happy to get this deal, and look,
Colbert goes after him every single night, almost cancel his
show and boom merger Ghoster.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yes, Skuydance had already signaled that they would be getting
rid of anything DEI related. The FCC chair said. The
company has also made commitments to make significant changes at
the once storied CBS broadcast network Wow Yeah, to ensure
the new company's programming embodies a diversity of viewpoints from
across the political ideological spectrum that is going to make huge,

(04:44):
huge waves over at CBS News. Skuydance will also adopt
measures that can root out the bias that has undermined
trust in the national news media.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
That's a scary, scary, scary statement to put out, and
a lot of people read that, and it's not even
a reading between the lines exactly like Trump is taking
control of CBS.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
The freedom of the press is a cornerstone, a bedrock
in the foundation of our nation's democracy. That is scary. Indeed,
all right, we're going.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
To continue on the run here on this Friday morning.
They haven't talked to her all this time, and now
all of a sudden, the government can't get enough of
Glaine Maxwell. The DJ is expected to have day two
of talks with the Jeffrey Epstein associates. She's serving a
twenty year prison sentence right now in Tallahassee on sex
trafficking charges.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche met with Maxwell and her
lawyers yesterday for several hours and are scheduled to do
it once again today. Blanche said earlier this week, Justice
demands courage for the first time. The Department of Justice
is reaching out to Glaine Maxwell to ask what do
you know the first time? Why statement the first time?
And why just now? Do you want to know what

(05:51):
she knows that is? That's insane, that's insane.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
These are direct quotes. Now after the meeting yesterday, her
lawyer is addressed reporters saying Miss Max addressed and answered
every single question. She never stopped, she never invoked privilege,
never declined to answer. End quote. This all comes, of course,
as the administration deals with intense and seemingly unyielding pressure
right now to release more of those so called Epstein's.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Sounds like Gallainne Maxwell was dying to talk.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah, come back tomorrow, My goodness, She's got nothing but
time on her hands, I suppose, and a lot.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Of information in her head.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
And if she wants she's appealing now anyway, this I mean,
this is her sorry Trump Card, I mean, this is
it for her if she wants to get at it.
What do y'all want to know?

Speaker 1 (06:33):
This is going to be explosive. This is wow? Okay,
next up on the run. Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, known
for his shirt ripping theatrical performances inside and outside the ring,
has died at the age of seventy one. He was
pronounced dead late Thursday morning after police and firefighters rushed
to his home in Florida for a cardiac arrest call.
Police say there were no signs of foul play. There

(06:55):
was no suspicious activity.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
His family posted on social media later saying may we
all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind.
For the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched
for more than four decades, he will be missed but
never forgotten. WWE chairman Vince McMahon posted on x Hulk
Hogan was the greatest WWE superstar of all time, someone

(07:16):
who was loved and admired around the world. He was
a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a
wrestling star into a global phenomenon.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Hogan made a memorable appearance at last year's GOP convention.
I'm sure we all remember that scene when he ripped
open his shirt, his traditional Yes shirt ripping there on
stage to reveal a Trump Vance shirt underneath. The crowd
went wild. President Trump reacted to news of Hogan's passing, saying,
we lost a great friend today. The Hulkster Hulk Hogan

(07:45):
was Maga all the way, strong, tough, smart, but with
the biggest heart.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Hogan, real name Terry Jean Belea, began wrestling in nineteen
seventy seven. Six foot eight, three hundred pounder. He adopted
the name Hulk because he often was compared to the
Incredible Hulk. He survived by his wife, two children, and
two grandchildren. Seventy seven, that was the year I was born,
and I remember having these very hard plastic rest figures,
and he was my favorite Hulk, Holly, Roddy, Roddy, Piper,

(08:14):
Junkyard Dog, I remember all these wrestlers.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
He had a lot of controversies. Obviously, in the last
three years he was caught on tape using the N word.
There was a sex tape circulated. He actually got taken
out of the Hall of Fame reinstated back in twenty eighteen.
But certainly he entertained millions for oh so long, and
he will be missed by many, all right. Next up
on the Run, we are getting new details in the

(08:37):
death of Food Network star And Burrell. The New York
Medical Examiner announced Burrell died by suicide last month. She
was reportedly found by her husband in the shower of
their Brooklyn home, unconscious and unresponsive, surrounded by approximately one
hundred assorted pills. That is a direct quote, according to
The New York Times, who was able to see an

(08:57):
internal police document.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
It was officially listed as our calls of death acute
intoxication from combined effects of alcohol, amphetamines, and antihistamines. The
drugs found in her system can safely be taken individually
for over the counter or prescribed reasons, but combined effects
can be fatal. The night before her death, she had
just appeared at an improv show at Second City in Brooklyn.

(09:20):
This was her first performance since taking classes at the
world famous comedy clubs.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
YEA and all of her social media posts that led
up to her death showed her smiling and happy, so
so many people were shocked by this news. Burrell was
a long time and fan favorite co host of Food
Networks Worst Cooks in America. And by the way, the
new season of the show, which features Burrell's now final appearance,
actually premieres next week as scheduled on Monday, July twenty eighth.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
And this is one of those things, this one was.
I think we heard about the pills when we first
heard about her death, and you think, wow, really, and
this is just a reminder, folk, Give folks a break.
I mean, this woman is known for what that's smile.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
That's smile.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Laid eyes on her when she didn't put a smile
on my face because she lit up a screen or
she lit up a room. Just never know what people
are going through.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yeah, just got it's heartbreaking.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
You give people a break, all right, folks. We're going
to continue on our run now with Chuck Mangioni, the
jazz legend and Grammy winner, has died at the age
of eighty four. Its attorney says he died in his
sleep at his home in Rochester.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
The influential musician had thirty albums to his name. But yeah,
it was that nineteen seventy seven hit. I never even
knew the name of it because it doesn't have lyrics,
but it's called Feels So Good, and God, that song
does make me feel so good. It put him on
a path the pulp culture stardom. Feels So Good hit
number four on the Billboard charts. And how unusual is
that for a song like that without any lyrics. There's

(10:42):
no one singing, just the jazz song. Dun dun dunda dunna.
You guys all know it. I love it makes me
so happy.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Even saying it now, saying the name and saying his name,
people might be thinking, Wow, I'm not sure I know
that song or that name. Go play it right now, you.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Go, oh, and you'll smile. You will smile when you
hear that song. And remember Chuck MANGIONI.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
All right, we want to continue next up on the Run. Now.
There seems to be a lot going on in the world.
We got wars, we got conflicts, we've got inflation, we've
got prices rising on eggs and meat and what you
name it. But all that's going on the White House
took time to issue a statement about south Park. The

(11:27):
hit show and cultural juggernaut launched its twenty seven season
this week, and the entire season premiere was a merciless
onslaught of jokes aimed at President Trump.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
We watched this morning, and I will say this, it
was uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Then that was a perfect classic south Park episode because
they make you swirm almost everything.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, I was skirming watching this. Yes, it was vingage
south Park, but man did its cure the President and
depicted him trying to have sex with Satan, with a
particular focus on the president's teeny tiny genitalia.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
And one of quote they use that we should.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Say, yeah, teeny tiny genitalia one of the closing scenes.
This one was so tough to watch. It's so tough
to watch. It's a PSA that features a deep fake
of President Trump. Oo Trump, his penis is teeny tiny,
but his love for us is large. That was what
it said.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
And if you haven't seen, it looks like this is
a deep fake stuff and this is scary. But it
looks like the President is going through a desert taking
off his clothes. He ends up naked. But it looks
like if you didn't know any better and know about.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
An absurdly obese version of Trump. Yes, but it does
look scarily real.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
So everybody was talking about it. It was certainly going
viral and being talked about the day after it aired.
But the White House has now released a statement about it.
A spokesman put it this way quote, The left's hypocrisy
truly has no end. For years, they have come after
South Park for what they labeled as a fence content,
but suddenly they're praising the show. Just like the creators
of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content,

(12:59):
which is why they're popularity continues to hit record lows.
The show hasn't been relevant for twenty years, and it's
hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas and a
desperate attempt for attention. No fourth rate show can derail
President Trump's hot streak. It's where they call the show
not relevant in the same week that they just made

(13:19):
a deal for one point five billion dollars to stream
their show on Paramount Plus.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Has the deal been signed because with this mounts.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
And signed done.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Wow, Yeah, that's interesting.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
So it's interesting that they leave what's his name Colbert
on the air to skewer the president for the next
ten ten months. And now South Park which just skewered him,
and it's all amount of paramount and this deal that
just went through.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Wow, oh the irony all right? Next up on the run.
College sports are not and should not be professional sports,
so says a new executive order signed by President Trump. Yes,
that order, which the administration says is meant to protect
college sports, takes aim at the current and some say
wild wild west financial structure of college athletics.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah, we've had recent court rulings and rule changes that
now allow student athletes to financially benefit off their own name, image,
and likeness. Cool, but it's also created a system where
there are bidding wars between schools for top athletes to
the tune of sometimes millions of dollars. The President's order
aims to curb those bidding wars by barring third party
pay for play payments to athletes, calling them improper and

(14:32):
should not be permitted.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
The order also directs the Department of Education to clarify
the status of student athletes, are the employees of their
universities or not. The order also called for more scholarship
opportunities and revenue sharing for student athletes from non revenue
generating sports. It's unclear if or how the administration would
enforce this order.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
All right, and folks, stay with us here on this
Friday morning run. When we come back, Golilla had a
break in at her house. She is the only one
who got arrested. Also, Chucky Cheese he ended up arrested
as well. Do not let your kids see that video.
And Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey finally finally make it official.

(15:20):
All right, folks, let's continue on this Friday morning ron
and we head to Hershey, Pennsylvania, where there was a
drowning tragedy at Hershey Park last night. A nine year
old has died after an incident at the Boardwalk water park.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
The child, whose name is not being released for now,
was immediately rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
A Hershey Park spokesperson said this, from the moment that
our lifeguard team recognized that a child was in distress,
they performed an immediate rescue, followed by continuous coordinated life
saving efforts by our lifeguards, on site, first responders, and
medical personnel.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
The park did add that our hearts break for this
child in the child's family. We will not release any
personal details at this time. They're no specifics into the
circumstances surrounding the child's death. The investigation, of course, is
on Deuay all right.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Next up on a Run, Grammy nominated rapper Glorilla had
a break in at her home this week, but she
ended up being the only one who got arrested, and
she wasn't even at home at the time of the
break in. Let us explain what you.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Just said there makes no sense. So yeah, we have
to explain, this makes no sense. Glorilla wasn't in Indianapolis.
She was performing at the WNBA All Star Game over
the weekend. She had family friends staying at her Atlanta
area home. Police were called to that home overnight Sunday
for a report of three people robbing the place. The
suspects fled, but police said that while they were investigating,

(16:40):
they smelled the strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics and
saw a stash of weed and plain sight in the
bedroom closet.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
They say, yeah, Glorilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods,
turned herself involuntarily, but now she is facing felony drug
possession charges. She's out on bond, by the way, but
she tweeted this. Instead of focusing on finding the suspects,
they focus on some cannabis. Long story short, my house
gets home invaded and I'm the only one that gets arrested.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Tourney went even farther, saying, quote when her family members
did the right thing in call law enforcement. Instead of
investigating the violent home invasion and theft at miss woods home,
they instead sought a search warrant. No arrest warrants have
been issued for the violent home invaders. Miss Woods is
a victim, not a suspect. This is our tax dollars
at work. Absolutely unbelievable. End quote. Now, how does the

(17:32):
sheriff defend themselves, like, hey, we must continue to uphold
and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
She I mean the robbery was she lost a ton
of valuable jewelry. I believe. But you know, you hear
about these stories about sports folks or movie stars known
to be out of town and then those homes are targeted.
This could have been that specific instance, but unfortunately the
tables turned on Glorilla.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Something seems so wrong about it.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
I mean, the other thing is don't. We don't know
the details. How much, Mayor I want to all of this.
And I get that it's illegal in Georgia, but it's
legal in so many states. It just seems like we're
on the path here. I know, federally it's still a crime,
but we're on the path to legalizing this particular drug,
and it has been in so many states.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
I get her frustration.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
I don't give a damn what I got going on
in my house. You're here to investigate this theme because
you're here to help me. Don't look in my other room.
Why you look at my closet.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Maybe that's where they stole the jewelry from. But still, yeah,
I get it, all right, Well I don't get it.
But next up on the run. Not quite the entertainment
folks were expecting from a mascot. At a popular family
friendly restaurant, an employee dressed in a Chuck E Cheese
mascot costume was arrested in the middle of a birthday party,
right in front of families and their children.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Oh Charles Entertainment Cheese has gone viral now. Tallahassee Police
Department spokesperson said officers walked over with the intention of
just walking outside to put handcuffs on him outside of public,
but when they approached him, he immediately tenses up and resists.
Please now say. Forty one year old Jamel Jones stole

(19:07):
a customer's credit card last month during another child's birthday
party and had been using it throughout the month of
July to make multiple purchases.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
The customer went to police. She actually went herself and
got the surveillance video she obtained because she saw the
receipts about where these charges were coming from on her
credit card. She got surveillance video, showed it to police.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
She did the work.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
She did the work at yes showing Jones making fraudulent
purchases with her card. So they ask him, you know,
have you been doing this? Do you have the card? No,
They found her card on him during the arrest. Jones
was booked and released on a thousand dollars spond as
for his employment with Chuckie Cheese. The company says he
was only a part time employee and that they have

(19:49):
taken appropriate action.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
They you have a part timer the most important job
in the restaurant, chuck you.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Too had access to credit cards apparently.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Well, everybody's wrong here in a little bit. I really
wish the cops would have taken this else waited for
the party to be over. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Well, they said they knew he was working, they knew
where he was, and they needed to get him. So yeah, oh.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Charles, geez all right, final leg of the run. Now, look,
they've been talking about this for a long time, all
these rumors, these rumors, the allegations, these tabloid headlines that
maybe maybe Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey were dating. Well,
lo and behold, now I believe it because now it's official, Because,
as we all know, no relationship is official these days

(20:34):
unless it's Instagram official.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Yes, and Kelsey yesterday for the very first time, posted
pics of him and his girlfriend, and people are kind
of losing it. There's been press coverage of them enjoying
their time off post eras tour and post Super Bowl,
but it was when Kelsey posted several behind the scenes
snaps of them during their summer of exploits dinner, ice
skating and so on, and wrote had some adventures this

(20:58):
off season that now people are saying, Wow, they must
actually be a thing. They must actually be an item.
There is a stamp of approval at that point. But yes,
it wasn't lost on anybody that he posted thirteen pictures.
Taylor Swift's favorite number is that birthday. It's her birthday,
it's her favorite number. It's the title of an album. Yes,
she's all about the number thirteen. And so it's cute

(21:18):
that he went with that theme.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
This is a fun story, and I'm rooting for them.
I don't follow and keep up and all this, but hey,
I like happy people and enjoy themselves time with their lives.
Please enjoy, folks.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yes, I completely concur all right, and as we send
you off on this Friday to wrap up our Friday
Morning run, here is our quote of the day.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Sometimes when things are falling apart, they may actually be
falling into place. The author here unknown. You say, but
this is fantastic. It makes perfect sense. For my life.
Things have been falling into place.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
After falling apart.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
This is all this is.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
But it's good to remember. People say there's light at
the end of the tunnel. You know, all of like
I think obstacles or detours and the right to I
get all of that, but I just like the way
This one was put because when you're in the middle
of it, it's really hard to see your way out.
But if you can just believe that, sometimes you're being
led in a different direction, and it's painful usually, and
it's disruptive. Nobody likes change, but sometimes it's what's needed.

(22:16):
So yes, sometimes when things are falling apart, they may
actually be falling into place. Remember that everyone on this Friday.
And with that, we thank you for running with us.
I'm Amy Robots and I'm TJ.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Holmes. Always appreciate you running. We'll see y'all real soon.
