Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Sex Lies and Spray Tans with Me Cheryl
Burke and iHeartRadio Podcast. Welcome back to Sex Life and
Spray Tans, and get ready because we have another fun
interview you're about to hear with someone who is absolutely
gorgeous inside and out, talented, and one of the nicest
souls I've crossed passed with during my time on Dancing
with the Stars. So even though her time on the
(00:22):
show was short lived, she definitely left a lasting impression
on me and many I'll never forget the time we
did spend together those short but we'll cherish the moments
we made time to talk to each other, and especially
when she would reach out needing advice during what was
both a beautiful yet stressful time on the show for
her especially. We haven't really crossed paths since season eight,
so I'm beyond excited to catch up with my next guest,
(00:44):
who needs no intro, but we'll give a short one anyway.
You may know my guests as an actor in Starship Troopers,
Wild Things, a bond girl, and a housewife. Please welcome
the beautiful Denise Richards to the podcast. Denise, Oh my god,
it's been so you know it's been sixteen years since
we Oh please don't tell me that, I know. Isn't
(01:05):
that shocking me? Six sixteen season eight, right was when
you joined.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Gosh, that's so I can't believe how fast time goes by.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I mean really like this season they're going into like
season thirty three of the show, and I just, oh,
my god, time flies. But you look gorgeous as ever,
and you too, thank you. And there's so much to
talk about. Welcome to Sex Flies and Spray Tansas is
heavily about the show obviously, and you know, with this
amazing experience. And I know, even if I always say that,
(01:38):
even if you haven't even if you weren't on long
or it doesn't matter, it has affected you somehow, right
like Dancing with the Stars has definitely left a lasting impression.
Really yeah, absolutely So before we get there though, for
my listeners, and you know for me as well, I guess, like,
who is Denise Richards behind all the glitz and glam
(01:58):
of the entertainment industry.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
I'm a mom, I'm a wife, I'm a friend, you know,
I work, so yeah, a lot of different sides to me.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, that's awesome. I feel like you're super relatable, Like
you are definitely in the spotlight and all of that,
but you're also just a normal person, a normal human
being who goes through, you know, the I guess different
emotions that we all go through, Like there's nothing different
right when it comes to people in the entertainment industry
(02:34):
versus just regular people who just may not be on camera.
And I think you're super relatable in that sense. And
I do remember like always gravitating towards you when you
were on the show. I wanted to help you as
much as possible, and I know how stressful the show is.
What do you think, First of all, how did you
(02:55):
even get involved on you know, Dancing with the Stars.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I was asked a couple of seasons, and I wasn't
in a place I was going through a lot because
my mom was sick for a long time and so
I didn't feel like it was the right time in
my life to make that commitment. And then, you know,
my mom was such a fan of the show and
she and we would watch it together and stuff.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
So after she passed, and it was probably too soon
for me to do the show at the time, but
I know she would have been so thrilled.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
She wouldn't have been happy that I was voted off
so soon, but she would have been thrilled to go
there and see all the dancers.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
She loved all of you.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
So you know, it was just such a fun, different experience,
something I had never done before. And it's amazing how
how long the show has gone on, and I know
it's incredible.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
And that's a testament to all of you. It's a
really amazing. Yeah for me now to watch it with
my daughters. So you still watch the show, Yeah, we
watch it. I love it. I know because I think
your daughters were very young, when right, I mean young? Yes, yes,
And what I remember for sure is how like, first
(04:19):
of all, I retired about like a year ago. I
didn't do last season, so I was saying, you're a girl,
my hips. I couldn't push one more celebrity around the
dance floor even if I wanted to, literally, But also
just you know, I did twenty six seasons, so like, yeah,
(04:39):
and also the mental health side of it, as much
as like it could be both things. I keep saying this,
it's not you know, I'm so appreciative and grateful obviously
for everything. But with that you know, I needed to.
I felt like challenge myself again because I felt like
I was just teaching a lot and I wanted to learn.
And that's where I am now in my life, just
like I'm like a sponge, I just want to learn.
(04:59):
Like I, well, now it's my turn to like, you know,
get the information in. When you were doing this, though,
I remember you were shooting It's complicated, your reality show.
How the hell did you juggle both well on that show?
Speaker 2 (05:15):
It was it was a lot, but I liked that
we were shooting what was really going on in my life,
and so that part was fun. And they were following
me whatever it was that I was doing. Yeah, I
was also filming other projects, so the crew would follow
me and it was it was actually a great distraction.
(05:41):
So soon after I lost my mom. It was less
than a year, I believe at the time, so it
was it was a lot of fun and I thought
it was great with you know, my girls were they
were so young When you said sixteen years old, I
can't believe it because Sammy's nineteen and Lola's eighteen.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
So or babies and two and three that's gray. Isn't
that crazy? Oh? My gosh, so Dancing with the Stars
has been in their lives forever. Would you ever would
you let them do the show if they ever wanted to.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Well, they're eighteen and nineteen and they are very strong minded,
and I love it. Remind me that they're eighteen and nineteen,
so whatever they want to do.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
They can do. I love that so much. I would
support them. You asked for Max aka Maxie Pooh. I
love that you nicknamed him Maxie Pooh. Yes, I still
(06:44):
have a Maxie Poo on my phone. What I love
it is that an M A K S Y MAXI.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Or I I do as k I and then pooh.
And by the way, just today for really quickly, Yeah
yeah yeah. Jim and Pete are neighbors with Charlie.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
I know that I went to I went to dinner.
I went to dinner with like it's been a couple.
It was when I was going through a divorce about too,
I guess, and I went to dinner there and they're like,
do you know Charlie lives like right here? Because fun fact,
I danced with Charlie for one day. You did, Okay,
So I don't know if you know. I'm I'm I
(07:26):
thought you maybe you don't know, but so he was
gonna do the show. I did not know that. Well,
I think he just first of all, well there's a
reason why he never did it right, so like but
like when he so I get a call randomly it
was like during hiatus and Dina Katz as you know her,
I'm sure very well her me too, and she's like, look,
(07:48):
we have someone who is a huge name and they want,
like his team wants you, like to train him. And
I said, oh, yeah, sure, because if I'm trying to
convince somebody to do the show, I might not be
the person because like I hate lying. I just don't
want to lie to like how the process is and
it's beautiful, but it's freaking a lot of work, like
(08:09):
I'm not even going to deny that, and there's a
lot of press and there's a lot of interviews and
all of this stuff. So anyway, she told me it
was Charlie Sheen, and here we are cut to us
at the DWTS Dance studios, which I don't think they
were around when you were on. So we now like
rehearse or I'm not there anymore, but they rehearse under
one roof now and so Charlie was there with Rob Mills,
(08:33):
the president of ABC, and Dina Katz, and so I
taught him a few steps and I'm sober now for
almost six years, and I just thought, you know what,
I really had a lot of I have a lot
of compassion for him, and he seems so cool, and
I just we had so much fun. But then he
started asking me questions. And then you know, he asked me, like,
(08:55):
you know, how many interviews do we have to do?
Do we have to go and do press? And I
told him, yeah, yeah, like we do, like we're going
to GM A like if we're going to go to
Good Morning America. And I don't know what it was.
He judged himself right away, you know, and he was like,
I suck at this. I'm like, no, no, this is
just the first few steps. Like I taught him a
waltz or something, and it was we talked more than
(09:17):
we danced, to be honest, but like he would be
I think a great candidate. How about you do you
think he should do it or not? Well, he doesn't
like to work out, so I know, and I mean
I hate working out too.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
No, but there's a lot of physical activity with dancing.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Yes, I think she would.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I don't think he'll care that I'm saying this. We're
actually very close and good friends.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yeah, he wouldn't like that.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
And he also waits just said to interviews, and he
liked certain hours to do certain so.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
I think it's early more now, I actually think, to.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Be honest, I think it would be a great challenge
for him and something that.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
He should do.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
But I think he doesn't like to sweat, so oh no, Yeah, it's.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
You know, there's a little bit of work in there.
He was just really sweet and kind and humble and
he was grateful. But I knew as soon as we
were finished that it was probably going to be a
hard no, but all good. More power to him. And honestly,
when look, it's this show brings out sometimes, you know,
vulnerability and in you and if you're not willing to
(10:34):
be courageous or be transparent in a way right, if
you're not ready for that, this show could actually swallow
you up. And that's something I feel like you you
didn't shy away from, and I really appreciated that because
you were honest, like you weren't holding back any type
of emotions. And it was really relatable. How is your time?
(10:55):
Can you walk me and my listeners through like the
the two weeks or three weeks see her on the show.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Where people don't like a lot of actors actually are
uncomfortable being themselves in certain situations. When I go to
award shows or on the right carpet, I get I'm try,
really and people wouldn't think that because of what I
do for a living, being an actress and playing a
(11:22):
part and being on set.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I love doing all that and I have so much fun.
But then when you put.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Yourself out there as myself, and that's why I was
so desperately trying, you know. I know Max is also
going through some stuff with his partner at the time,
so Arina, Yeah, so I wanted to work longer and
do more rehearsal and stuff like that. And I actually
(11:51):
I really respect Max and I like him, and you know,
we're friends and everything.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
And I think the timing was just off whatever.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
But I think that I was trying to say I
was playing a part because it is so daunting. But
I would say, oh, I wish that they could see
like our rehearsals sometimes, like for real, not just the
drama with it because I was so nervous and scared
(12:26):
of doing it in front of an audience.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
And that's the thing.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
That people don't think that people who do perform, and
you know, our actors would have that feeling that we
get nervous, you know, being ourselves. But it's different doing
like a reality show being myself as opposed to doing
something that was completely out of my comfort zone.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, like you can be yourself. You just to be
a ballroom dancer in three days is quite impossible.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Actually, it's really tough. Yeah, but I loved everyone and
it was such a I can see the family environment
with all of you, and and that's the thing that's
that's that's what I get when I work on set
too and filming is that family.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Uh, camaraderie and all of that. And that's the thing
that I loved about the show so much. Yeah, you guys,
and you requested Max correct.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Yeah, there was him and then someone else that I said.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
And so my mom liked Max. I love it. He's
really tough. So oh yeah, no, he's known for that.
So you're not saying anything new A couple of times, Yeah,
why do you think? So what what is so tough
about Max because my listeners love Max, you know, so,
I mean everyone loves Max, right, It's like, Yes.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
The thing was we would be in rehearsal and he
was different there than and then we would go to
lunch or break and we would hang out and talk
and it.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Was so cool. Then we would go back and I'm like, fuck,
are you the same person? No, I get it. I
know I hard.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Ass, and I think I understand because of how disciplined
you guys have trained your entire life.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
But I'm not an athlete. So and that's why I
think athletes do so well on the show. They can
take it.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
I just think I was so sensitive because I say,
I am trying, my heart is and I can't.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
You just are not understanding and you're little. I don't know.
It was a different thing. Yeah, No, for sure, we
just had to have a little more patience. Look, I
am also known as a hard ass, and it is
I think too what I've noticed with my own personal experiences.
If things are not good at home, I am not
(14:50):
my best self, just point blank. It's really hard for
me to have any compassion for anybody when I'm being
like when I'm just not in the right headspace, I think,
or the right energy. And I'm not making any excuses
for Max whatsoever, but Max is known for that, and
I would think I'm the female version or I was
of that as well. You know.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
That's that like I could take a lot like I
feel that I'm tough, like I'm strong and stuff.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
You are. I think you can be tough on people,
but maybe a little nurturing and tough love. I think
that maybe.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Max should be different now after being a dad totally,
you know what I mean, he would have a little
softer approach instead of.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
The other way. But I adore him. He is amazing.
I love his wife so much. I also realized when
I was watching your routine they were so hard you
(16:02):
never danced in her freaking what this was out of control? Honestly,
I was. I looked at them multiple times, right, So
first I did it with the music. Then I turned
off the music in the background so I could just
focus on your actual quality of movement, and it was
really great. Now. The thing is, though, is that you
probably felt like you were chasing after yourself or the
(16:22):
music because it was like one that the timing of
it was like every happy when you do it, lie,
it's not the same as when you are rehearsing it.
It's very different.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yes, I couldn't believe it. It's funny to Julianne. I remember
her saying that's always has the women go like this
with their arts. Why did nowhere else to put down?
Speaker 1 (16:43):
That's to no? They Okay, So I done the show.
I know.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
No, I made an embarrassment asshole out of myself.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
No you didn't. I wish i'd trained for a year
by myself, and then went on, I swear or hired
what are you guys on the side to do it,
and then said now I'll do it. I didn't have
any teaching experience as much. I was only twenty one
years old and I had come from the professional circuit
of ballroom. And the one thing that I did learn
(17:13):
is that I have to switch the language with whomver
I'm teaching, right like, I can't just stick to my
way and by the way, everyone learns differently, and they
it's just the way. You just have to get to
know that person. And then you also have to dumb
it down, but not in a bad way. You have
to also write And so did you ever communicate this
(17:34):
to Max. I was just terrified. And it's funny you
said that, because everyone does. You're either audio or visual es. Yes,
people are different.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
I'm a visual person, and I think it would have
helped in hindsight if I saw someone like I want
to do it, Yeah, then I would be able to
like take it in and really get what it was.
She did to show me once time and I and
then I was really confused because.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
She said the opposite.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Yeah, So I was like, no, I really don't know
what the fuck.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
To do right right? Right? Yeah? No, visuals good, visuals good. No,
I'm a visual learner. Here you are. You did an
amazing quick step. I thought that dance was amazing. Did
you have fun doing that dance? From what you can remember?
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Not really, because it was different than when we rehearsed it,
and like when we would do it live, I felt
like it was a little different than what was different
when even when even we did it, like the dress rehearsal,
it was slightly different than when you would actually do it,
(18:46):
Like the execution of Rent alone with with you know,
Max being out there too and all that. I just
felt like it was it's definitely much more amped up
and which is fine, but if you're not expecting it,
I can't explain it.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
I hear it. It's like a different adrenaline. Everyone dances
full out, like full out, to the point where like
you are letting your you're not in control of your body.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
I think had I done this though, when maybe a
couple of years later than when I did do it,
I think I would have had more confidence and I
would have felt more secure. You know, I just felt
very insecure. I just felt like I couldn't be myself
and enjoy it as much I enjoyed hanging out with
(19:33):
all of you guys f Stange and all that, and
getting our great hands and I was more exciting. And
our air and makeup and that whole process I loved
so much, so that part I.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Really really enjoyed.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
And I think if I did the show, which by
the way, my publicist recommended I not do it the
season I did because I was also going through a
lot publicly my personal life and that I was dealing with,
you know, like I said, with stuff with my family,
I think I would have been in a much different
place to do so I do wish I waited to
(20:11):
do it, but obviously I met all of you, and yeah,
no before that too, but you know, it was.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Still a wonderful.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
I'm so grateful that I was part of such an
iconic show that's really changed the way people look at
dance and look at what you guys have done with
people that want to dance and take lessons. I just
think it's so phenomenal what you guys have done for
people at home.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Thank you and look, like I said, I feel like,
no matter what, you even if your time was short.
Like I talked to Trista Sutter, who was the very
first celebrity ever eliminated in season one. She was you
know she is, she was the bachelorette, and like she
still had so much, you know, to say, and you
know what she thinks that she could have maybe have
(21:05):
avoided in order to have made it past week one. Yeah,
this is what's missing now is that they're not showing
the reality as much as they used to. And I
actually appreciate it because everyone has their ups and downs
like this. Not everything is all like happy, go lucky.
This is hard, and I think it's important for the
audience at home to know that. So I appreciated your
(21:25):
vulnerability and I understand why you say you were embarrassed.
Were you guys friends prior to this?
Speaker 2 (21:31):
No, I had never met him before. Oh okay, here's
what I will say too that I just remember that
and reminded me. I remember him saying storyline and what
and he would say what everyone every celebrities, what their
issue would be and what that truth. I'm like, I
understands it. I'm like, what do you mean the issue is?
(21:54):
We're dancing? Like why does there have to be a storyline?
Why can't it just be the challenges of learning something new?
I was like the sexy wild thing, like whatever.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
So everyone had their their role, their roles that they
were going to play and that I didn't at first
understand because I thought, but I'm coming into something that
I'm completely new for me. And I do think the
show has changed a lot where they have a lot
(22:28):
of people who do dance in real life.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
And I really do miss some of the earlier seasons
where it's the journey, and I'm so glad that there
are still some celebrities that do come on that you
see the journey. That's the thing that I miss a
lot about the show is the journey and overcoming something
that is so challenging for you and.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
Seeing and seeing the journey, witnessing it, because then you
feel like you're a part of them, You feel like
you're a you want to root for that couple he
is on the journey, Like I'll never forget when I
dance with EMMITTT. Smith. You know Mario Lopez. We thought
for sure he was going to win. He was dancing
with Karina, and no he didn't win. And it's shocking,
like the best dancer doesn't always win. It's really the
(23:16):
person who shows all of those sides to whoever you're
dancing with. And if there is a journey, because this
is not dancing with the pros, it's dancing with the
stars with it suposedly should have no dance experience, like
should not have any I agree where the judges nice
to you. You know, Len was very nice. I know
(23:37):
I love him rest in peace. Yeah, yeah, he was
so kind. That's nice.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
And he would always still find something even when you suck,
he would still find something kind and that's the wall.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
That's why he you know, he was the best mm hmm,
Like everyone always just like gravitated towards what he said,
Like that was important to us because he was the
ballroom dancer. Okay, before we get to rapid fire, because
we do this thing at the end of every interview here,
and before we get to like a couple of fan questions,
(24:17):
tell me, first of all, how is Kimmy kim hershevek
And I love that you guys all did a movie together.
We had so much fun together. Tell me more much fun.
We were shooting and we were up in Canada and
we just had the best time. She's so good in
(24:38):
this movie.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Really, Yeah, she's really adorable and I think she's going
to get a lot more goals after.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
That, I hope. So I'm rooting for her and adorable.
We just had the best time.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
It was so fun for us, you know, to just
be girls and hang out and get together looking.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
We had a lot of nights together. It was fun.
I love that. How long were you shooting for We
were there for a few weeks. Okay, I'm so happy
for her.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
I'm so happy she's a She is one of the
nicest people ever.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
She's so sweet, very sweet. Soult And what's the movie called?
When does it come out? And what is it about?
Speaker 2 (25:23):
It's called Hunting Housewives, It will be out in March,
and it's kind of it's a dark comedy. My husband
is a huge, huge, like reality TV producer, okay, and uh,
you know, creates a situation where uh, he wants me
(25:47):
not around.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
I've been in one of those. Don't worry. But it's
a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
It's a it's it's a dark comedy. It's something I
think a little different for lifetime. I'm so excited that
they did it. And it's got some nice, real special
moments with the women uh in the movie and us
showing you know that even though we loved the glitz
and the glamour and our lavish lifestyle, we are actually survivors.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
I love I think a wonderful message that. Yeah, with
the movie. Absolutely And how is it working with Nini?
I never better? Oh you guys weren't even on set together.
There was a stand she wasn't there. That got I
gotta got it, no worries. I think she did scenes
(26:41):
with her physically, but myself and Melissa we were with
with Kim and someone else got it. Got it to
work with her a doll. Yeah, Yeah, I love it.
I love like all the artwork I've seen for it
in the promos. This sounds looks so funn and I
can't wait time. Okay, rapid fire, just quickly obviously, you know,
(27:13):
just quick whatever comes to mind. Who falls in love first,
the celebrity or the dancer? Well for me either, no,
I know, But in what do you think that? I
would have to say probably the celebrity because the dancer
and pro is used to that totally. We're like all
in and then we're like, lose our number. That's your job.
It's like me when I do love scenes. Yeah, you
(27:36):
know what I mean, it's your job. That's what's completely
It's your job, and and that's it. Yeah, yeah, no,
I hear you, because like a lot of people are
not used to the groping and the exactly favorite judge.
I can guess you said lehn right when second favorite judge?
(27:57):
I like Derek a lot, how many he's super supportive. Yeah, no,
he's great. There all of them have.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Gotten nicer, apt to say over the years. I mean
they were the nicest this season. I did, but I
will say they've got nicer. But I do like that Derek.
I feel good such. I mean, all of them are great,
but I think he gives really good because he's spent
on both sides exactly. Other judges haven't done what you
(28:27):
guys are doing.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
How amazing would it be if they did? They should? Absolutely?
Like why haven't they done that? Yes? Which housewife do
you think she'd do Dancing with the Stars next? Oh? Garsal?
I agree, Actually she'd be amazing. Why haven't they asked her?
Maybe they have, we don't. We don't know. Last, what
(28:53):
was the most challenging part of the show other than
learning to dance? Just? I mean being out there in
front of everyone. I wish vulnerable.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
All the people were not there the audience. Do you
know what else you start too? Was when you do
the run through and then they have the stand in
judges and so judges are scores and their critique.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
I'm like yourself, I like, and then they all look
like they all look like the judges. It's just amazing.
Why are you saying this? And now I really feel insecure? Okay,
which reality show would you choose? Dancing with the Stars,
All Stars with the Max or Mass Singer? My husband
(29:38):
is desperate for me to do the mass Singer. Really
I need to do this.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Help to the no. I will never in a million
years do it. I would come out like as like
I guess, like bring the clue thing I do have.
I never sing, And it's so funny because they guessed
me or have guests that was me.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
I uh huh.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
I saw Nick Cannon at an event. There's they got
to stop doing that.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
I will never do it. So the I ask you, oh,
I'm sure Dina Katz knows, I can't see for me.
It's more like I would die inside the mask because
I'm claustrophobic that too. I would not want that thing
on my head. Right. But yeah, but our youngest daughter
loves that show. It's a favorite show. Actually, she's so
(30:28):
funny that. So he goes, I'm I'm going to have
you go on the mess. There is no way I'm
gonna it's so ridiculous, ass out of myself. I don't
need to do it on there. Okay, how about Big
Brother the celebrity version versus what's it called? Special Forces?
So I was asked to do Special Force? Oh you
should do it? No, I think I would kill myself.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
My husband wants me to do it because he wants
to live vicariously through me.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Do it. It's a good show. It's so good.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
I love the show. But I think I would literally
break my neck doing that show.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, Doctor Drew had to go straight to the er.
He said, No, I.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Wish I could, because I would love to challenge myself
that way, but I'd rather I would like to do
the Traders.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
That would be shline. But I think I would kill
myself on Special Forces. Yeah, I know, but you would
definitely grow if you weren't dead, but like you would,
it would be a great And I couldn't use the
toilet the way they used the toilet, get it. Yeah,
actually I'm with you. I don't think I could do it. Okay,
So favorite moment on Dancing with the Stars I think
(31:39):
being in the makeup trailer and that was fun. Yeah,
I like the behind the scenes. Yeah, I love that.
You know, wait that I have one favorite moment. Yeah,
go ahead, I'll never forget this. Good night. I did
get voted off, Mark said to me because I was like,
oh my gosh, I'm so when I was out to
go Mark Ballast yeah again and he goes, Denise use
(32:04):
that personality and the dance, and I never understood that
because I thought it's just steps. I didn't because I
couldn't know the steps. It was hard for me to
even put my personality into it right right, it was
so sweet. I'll never forget him really encouraging me and
being so supportive before I went. When I got to that,
(32:25):
he was so I'll never forget actually that moment. She
was so incredibly nice and supportive to me. I love that. See,
that is when the show is just so beautiful, like
for me, I mean as well, like I just miss everyone.
And I asked you one pool question. Of course, how
come you did me this show? Because it was time.
It was twenty six seasons, and to be quite honest,
(32:46):
I wanted to grow within the show, but obviously you
know that wasn't the case. And I just feel after
twenty six seasons of doing something, it was important for
me to move forward and challenge myself because I just
started to feel like I was an autopilot a little bit,
and that's not fair for me or for the people
that want my job. To be quite honest, and look,
(33:08):
could I have done it physically, like could I have
gone through the pain? Absolutely? It wasn't that it was
a mental thing for me, and I just I felt
like I couldn't grow within the show. So if that's
the case, then I just didn't feel right staying. Then well,
maybe you'll come back as a judge. Yeah it's not
up to me, but uh yeah, I mean we'll see ye.
(33:29):
So lucky I have you. I love you. Thank you.
That means so much to me. A couple more questions here,
What did you learn most about yourself on Dancing with
the Stars That I am really awful? Oh you're not? Okay?
Two fan questions. Then I'll let you go at PJ
Man nineteen fifty five. Why was your jacket upside down?
(33:55):
But same more, let me.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Say this like a feather weird thing. I didn't care
that it was upside down. I just wanted to get
the hell out of that dinner party. And I did
try it on for my Gland team a few days later,
and we actually thought it does look right.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Side up, even upside still. That's hysterical. That even made
a moment of it.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Oh yeah, I'm just grateful for Catherine O'Hara, Brank Branston,
who imitated the scene on Watch What Happens Live?
Speaker 1 (34:28):
So I love it. You know, are you back on
Housewives or no? No? I only did a few episodes
this season and that's it. Yeah, got it? Wellmar at
Casey Down's zero one. What did you learn most about
yourself during your marriage with Charlie Sheen? So deep? Oh yeah,
(34:53):
I wasn't expecting it either. I thought this was spray
tans and dance and sex and lines and spray dan. Uh. Well,
you don't have to answer it. No, it's okay.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
I went through very difficult divorce and I think I learned.
And people you've been through a divorce too, it's not easy.
It's so difficult. I think I learned. I'm a lot
stronger than I thought I was, you know, and that
was the biggest thing. You know, it was very hard.
And you've been through a public once too, and it's
(35:24):
not easy.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
No, it's not.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Yeah, just that I think. Well, that's like a five
hour interview with you.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
For sure. That's all another podcast called sex Lives and
Spread Hands, but not this one.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
You know. I went through a quite a long time
too before I started dating throughout Oh yeah, after quite
a few years too. Good.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Okay, So I don't feel no, and don't well one,
don't let anyone tell you, I know, be yourself and
anyone that says all you got to get back out there. No,
when you're ready, you're ready.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
And the best thing is and it's so cliche, but
it's I feel it's true.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
It'll have them when you least expect it, I know,
you know, and when you're trying. That's like in my house.
I'm just kidding, yeah, pretty much, but it's true, though
it's it's hard. You have to when you're ready, you'll
be ready. You know, you'll meet, you'll.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Attract what you are putting out there too. And so
I say, just do you don't listen to when everyone's
trying to say you up and this and that.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
That was so stressful for me because sure I didn't.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
You didn't really like them anyway. And then you feel
bad because someone's.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Friend, right, just because they're a good guy for someone else,
doesn't be free, you know exactly. You know what I mean?
When did you meet your husband? How? How did you
meet him? So? I met him because I was a
client of his, and but we had a lot of
mutual friends and stuff.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
But I was a client for about four fo or
five months and then we and then we started dating,
but we actually became friends too.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
It's important before and.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
That is I think key like, that was the most
I've never had that before, where I am trends and
then dated.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
It was not me the first time in my life.
That's awesome. Where can people find you, my love? Where
can they find me? Yeah? Well, not necessarily your address,
but like your social media at Denise forres, on Instagram
and so on, not your cell phone number. Don't do that.
(37:36):
Don't do it. I know. I'm like, I don't know.
Now I'm on Instagram, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
I think I have a TikTok account, which I am
going to start.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
I love it. I haven't really started that. Oh my goodness.
