Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is Sex, Lies and spray Tands with Me, Cheryl
Burke and iHeartRadio podcast. Welcome back to your favorite podcast.
It gives you all things dancing with the stars, current headlines,
and hot topics. Our friend Kristin Burt, who really needs
no intro, is with us. She is a pop culture guru,
a daily entertainment commentator, and one of our favorite regulars

(00:23):
on the podcast. Let's please welcome back to the show
our friend Kristin Burt. The following episode contains potentially disturbing
content and we want to alert trauma survivors. It contains
material that for some may be difficult to discuss or
listen to. Hi, Christen, there's so much. I mean, normally

(00:44):
there's always a lot to talk about. But welcome back.
And I hesitate to smile right now because of the
current news that have been the headlines that have been
rolling out, which I'm in complete chalk about. But how
are you doing doing okay?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I thought we were going to be talking about happier
things by obviously we've got some more serious news to
dive into.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yes, and someone who I've grown up with, who actually
we used to live together in my family's home in
the Bay Area Ardom. It's so shot. I get kind
of emotional. So he was arrested today. Thursday was when
we're recording this, and domestic violence has been thrown in

(01:28):
the mix. Like I don't want to I'm not going
to say that he was charged or any of it,
but allegedly domestic violence was the issue, and he has
a bail of like twenty five thousand. I'm not sure
if he's out, is he out now or is he
still currently in jail and NAPA I.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Believe he's out on bail for twenty five thousand dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And Variety confirmed as well that he was not set
to be part of season thirty three. My heart goes
out to everyone involved. H I it's just really hard
for me because he was my family. He's my family, like,
and I don't know what to say here other than
I hope everybody's okay. Yeah, we hope everyone is safe.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
And obviously more details will be coming forward and we'll
learn what happened in the situation, and we just have
to really take a deep breath and realize.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
That, you know, domestic violence is serious. It's so serious,
and we just hope everyone is okay. Exactly, and I
guess we'll soon be updated, I guess with whatever rolls out.
But I just hope his kid's okay. I hope everyone
his wife and oh, this is just kind of shocking

(02:47):
still for me.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Well, because you guys are co workers, your friends and
longtime friends, and you know, even though it's not directly
impacting season thirty three because he was not going to
be on the show this sea, and it still impacts
everyone involved with the show who has known him for
a long time and worked with him for a long
time and loved him for a long time.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Domestic violence and artom don't really, That's why it's so shocking.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
It's a lot to process, and I think a lot
I think I've seen, you know, just even the social
media reaction, and everyone is trying to wrap their brain
around this and really try to process the news because
it's devastating.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, so moving on to season thirty three. Now, I've
seen your TikTok videos and I always find them very entertaining.
Would you like to others, Well, first of all, congrats
to Whitney Carson. Right, she's back for season thirty three,
And I feel like you alluded to on your TikTok

(03:45):
this morning that you kind of knew this is that true? Yes,
I know the full cast. Okay, all right, spill it.
I'm interviewed. You're not being interviewed.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Good, no, but I will I will tell you in
this roster of pros, it's smaller this year. And I
don't know if you've kind of heard behind the scenes
just that there's been budget cuts.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I don't believe that's the issue. It's not because of
budget cuts. It's because of the show just wanting it
to be a better quality show. And with Conrad as
a showrunner, Conrad has always preferred a smaller cast and
as a viewer, and he's always said this from get go,
like he doesn't believe. Like when we went to sixteen
couples one season, it was a hot mess. It stresses

(04:28):
everybody out, but it also kind of distances the person
who is watching, Like it's hard to get to know
sixteen couples when you're just watching the show. The premiere
for me last season was just dragged on for so long.
It's like everyone started to mesh as one couple. There's
a lot more it's a lot easier. You can have
longer packages. You can have the judges speak a little

(04:49):
bit longer when you have less couples. And I have
to say, I remember Conrad always saying like, wasn't it
great when we just had a two couple final? You know?
And it was. And I just finished doing rewatch for
season three and it was so much better this way.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Maybe he'll do that for this season too. It's just
two things, so yea yeah. I have also heard about
the budget cuts, that for sure, and they've happened, oh
in the industry, right, yes, industry wide. This is not
just solely a Dancing with the Stars issue. It is
a it is an industry issue. It's CBS, it's ABC,

(05:24):
it's NBC, it's the streaming networks. Budgets are being slashed
left and right, and this was a meaningful way to
do it while also you know, helping out in sort
of Conrad's vision of you know, hey, you know what
we've done fourteen to sixteen over the last four seasons.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
It was too much. So we narrow this down, bring
in some troop.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
It gives a little bit more variety to the show.
Those and we all like getting to know those contestants better.
Let's be honest when there were sixteen by the finale week.
I was like, I don't even know who I watched
over the last eleven weeks. It just starts to like
mold into like just one long seat long. It feels long.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I remember Conrad saying, you know, like, if anyone's going
to bring back this show to really like authentic Ballroom
and to the way it was, it's going to be him.
And I think he's slowly starting to make sure that happens.
And again I have to say, watching like Ballroom doesn't
ever go out of style. It just doesn't. Like I

(06:22):
watched some of these dances, like Mario Lopez and Karina's
samba was one of the is the best and I'll
take it to my grave is the best samba and
the best slow Wall said this show will ever see
and that they ever did, like honestly, it was out
of this world. And that was in two thousand and seven,
and it still would fly. I mean, they would be

(06:43):
lucky to have dances like that to this day.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
You don't retain the dance is the way you did
in like prior seasons when there were smaller casts. When
you're thinking like, oh, I remember Max and Merrill but
also that season, I remembered dances by Amy Purty and Derek.
You know, you think about those moments because they all
it out. It's not like now where you're just like
that just breezes by and I'm not even sure.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
What I saw, true, Sasha Ezra.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
The only thing we've heard is Entertainment Tonight is like
Joey's in the process of being signed, and that's that's
the farthest we've gotten at this point.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
He's already if he's doing it, he's been.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Like, wasn't Joey probably signed like three months ago.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Signed when he was doing The Bachelor, for God's sake exactly.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
But it's interesting too because it's so interesting not hearing
because usually Entertainment to night and be like Joey's doing
the show. Everything this year is just like a little
bit like is it definitely happening.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Everything feels a little iffy. It's like I like that
actually because it all, like you said, it always leaks
and then there's really no big reveal. So if they
can actually this would be the first season they can
really get away with it. Then if this is the case,
because you know there's paparazzi at those studios. However, I'm
not sure. I mean, and with the unfortunate news of
Ardam that's really taking over at this moment today at least.

(07:57):
Oh goodness. Okay, So Lindsay or how do you feel
about Whitney coming back? Though? First of all, I.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Kind you know we talked about this because I interviewed
her in May and we were thinking, is she going
to come back? Is she not going to come back?
And I said, I feel like if she could make
it work, that she would. And it's kind of interesting.
Is she going to be flying back and forth? Does
she haven't any cost contestant that maybe lives in Florida?

Speaker 1 (08:20):
I lives in Florida? Kelse someone Kelse or? No? Does
he live.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Kelsey's live in Pennsylvania that's on the East coast, been
on Florida.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I was like, who lives in Florida? Because who would
be good enough for her to say yes to come
back to That's the faith because I'm telling you, when
I left, I knew right away they already told me
my partner before they even announced anything like and so
it had to be worth it for me.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
And she would be someone too, because she's got two
young boys at home and she's moving houses. She's right
in the middle of all of that, so she's got
to She definitely knew her partner, Like they must have
made it. There must have been either a request from
a celebrity specific one or someone that she would say
yes to. You know, who are they giving Stephen Atarozick too?

(09:06):
Because we know for sure he's on the show. It's
just this height difference. I mean, I would have given
him to Riley, but there's a height difference. Maybe Britt Britt.
That Britt would be a good one. They could also
give him to Wait. Also would be back for Steven Neerozick,
but they're too I think there's an age different, like
it's it's kind of weird, is what twenty four two?

Speaker 1 (09:28):
I thought he's like twenty four? Is that a call
for sure? Okay? Yeah? Also, I just would love for
Britt to win.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
That would be fun, wouldn't it.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah, she deserves it. He's ready, she is, And I
wonder if like I don't know, there's like so many options,
but okay, is it true? On your TikTok? He said,
what's this I keep forgiving me Julia Roberts brother, what's
his name Eric Roberts. What do you feel? What do
you think about him?

Speaker 2 (09:55):
You know, he's super controversial, like I said in my TICKETOK.
Fits he fits a couple of categories, like the older
actor category of course, like a Barry Williams kind of thing,
not as warm and fuzzy as maybe Barry Williams. And
then he also fits in that controversial celebrity sibling because
obviously being Julie Roberts's sibling, kind of like Jamie Linn
Spears was when we had her on the show, and

(10:16):
they've had a decade's long feud. They're on and they're
off again. He's someone who he's sober now, but he
had a huge issue with addiction. He has had some
domestic violence incidents in his background. I interviewed him, and
I not recently back in his addiction years and I

(10:36):
interviewed him, but eight nine years ago he had one
of those widow maker heart attacks. But if you don't
get help, like right away, you're just dead. I mean,
his cardiologist was able to recognize what was happening and
it kind of was like a life changing event for him.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Is it safe for him to do this?

Speaker 2 (10:53):
I would think that his doctors would probably probably know
that it's okay to do it.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
I would think, yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I mean they think he's been very healthy ever since
because he had like stance put into his part and everything.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
But okay, good, yeah, So do you think it meshes
well with from what you think you know? I mean,
I I think you can dance.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
It makes sense in terms of like, hey, we've got
a somewhat controversial contestant.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
I don't know if he's controversial. Is he controversial? He is?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
I mean it's he's even had like feuds with his daughter,
Emma Roberts, So it's been it's strange from her office. Okay,
missus daughter so late to the party, got it?

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Got it? She should do it? My gosh, that would
be amazing. Okay, And so is there going to be
more than one Olympian?

Speaker 2 (11:38):
I would like to. I really want to see Alana
mar Why haven't we seen her announced or spilling the beans?

Speaker 1 (11:44):
I mean, he's ready, she's following the show. She's perfect
for GLEB. Come on, Oh no, she's doing it. If
she's following the show, No one's gonna follow this show
if they're not doing it. I mean, like, I'm super
interested cast me right, Yeah, yeah, I don't know. I
don't I haven't followed. I didn't follow her in the
I mean, she see everyone's talking about her. So if

(12:06):
it were between her and uh, what's the other gymnast
that I love?

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Jordan Chiles?

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Yes, which which one would you choose?

Speaker 2 (12:16):
My goodness, I think I would choose Alonamar, even though
I love Jordan Chiles. But Jordan Chiles is definitely on
Simone Viles tour. Yes, that schedule does not work because
Stephen dropped out of the Simone Viles tour in order
to do Dancing with the Stars.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
No, you can't have two drop outs.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
No, And I think that we've done gymnasts over and
over again, which is great and they're fun on the show.
But I feel like having an Olympic rugby player would
be amazing and her personality will shine through.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I wish they would have that breakdancer come on. That
would be amazing, ray Gun, the Australian one. People would
scream though she's another one controversial. Well, I just isn't
that what we're doing here? I think so? Yeah, Like,
I don't know, I think it would be amazing if
she came on. I don't even care if she has

(13:06):
dance experience, because it's totally different. She would move her
body so much different than yeah, and ballroom versus breaking,
it's good luck with that. Who'd you pair? If we
had very gun who would you pay her? She? How
old is she? How tall is she?

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Sorry, I don't know how tall she is, but she
doesn't look short. She doesn't look like I'm five three.
She doesn't look like five to three. She looks at
least maybe five to five.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Give her to Allen ooh, And I think personality wise,
that might be kind of funny. I mean, he may
not be too excited, but he should be because that,
I mean, you'll get a lot of it. She has
a little rhythm well.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
And also, like when you have a contestant, isn't necessarily
like the best dancer? Do you at least get excited
to go, Well, we're gonna get a lot of good
press out of this. At least now you still want
the best dnswer.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
And I don't know, not necessarily. I want to be
with somebody who I get along with, And I don't
know that until you start to see their true colors.
After that first live show, after the premiere because really,
I just interviewed Jack Osborne and I'm like, no, wonder, Like,
I just love the hymn as a person, and when
it's pleasant like that, then that naturally I want to

(14:15):
really work hard for them.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
That was my favorite partnership of yours. Do you know that?

Speaker 1 (14:19):
So I just he just throws the shit right back
in my face and I love every single moment of it.
It will still remember you guys, like climbing up those
old stairs and starts that he almost literally died insane,
see talking about like old cast and what you remember.
I'm like, that's a number I remember from Ages ago?
What season was, sixteen seventeen? Oh yeah, yeah, Joey Lawrence.

(14:51):
Let's get into the headlines, Okay. Here, So basically they're saying,
this is reported by TMZ, Joey carried on an extramarital
affair with an actress he started alongside in an upcoming movie,
at least according to her strange husband, and may provide
a clue for why Joey's wife just filed for divorce.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Okay, I've done some reporting on this story, and I
think the big indication was actually Joey Lawrence's alleged affair
partner's husband was the one who filed. There, you go
the divorce papers in New Jersey, and you can in
state because it's California's no fall state. Obviously this one,

(15:30):
you can actually put in fidelity as a reason for divorce. Yes,
And that is what tipped off TMZ about. Oh then,
but Joey Lawrence today has come out with a statement
just saying hey today today Thursday, and said, hey, I
had a deep relationship or deep friendship, I should say,
with this woman's name is Malina Alvis. There was no

(15:51):
sexual relationship. She said something similar. We had a deep friendship,
there was no sexual relationship. And he said, my marriage
to Samantha was all in disrepair and she was keeping
me away from my teenage daughters. And because they also,
you know, they have a West Night ugly. Yeah, it's ugly,
and it's like, you know, there's so many kids involved.
Molina has kids as well. And to me, after I

(16:13):
read everything, it's like I read the husband, and I
read Samantha's and I read Joey's and I read Molina's
and I looked at it and I said, I think
there was an emotional affair. That's what it's an alleged
emotional affair. That's kind of what it felt like to
me in all of this. There was no physical relationship
because it just felt like things were not ours though
I think.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
So, I think an affair is an affair, and honestly, like,
and I'm sure he's right when he said they already
had problems, because that doesn't happen unless there is already
problems in your marriage, right, like you're not having you
don't give off that energy and if you are happy,
happily married. Look, this is so sensitive, like though he's
my he was my ex brother in law, Like, it's

(16:54):
not easy regardless of whatever happened. And I just hope
that the kids are not effect because that's what kills me,
is that, you know, he also just had a baby
with Samantha, and then he's got his two teenagers who
already dealt with this the first round of all of this,
you know, And it doesn't help that TMZ just gets
waves of news all the time, like literally, and it's

(17:17):
it's public, And I just hope the kids are okay.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, playing this out in public is not easy. And
the girls are teenagers too, so that's just a sensitive
time in your life.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Let's talk about Brian Austin Green. The headline is Tory
Spelling says, not talking to Brian for eighteen years was
almost like going through a divorce. So I look, they
hadn't talked. I didn't know that actually. Basically for Brian's
podcasts and Sharna's Oldish, Tory said, I never stopped thinking
about you and never stopped wanting to reach out and reconnect.

(17:48):
So they reconnected on their podcast Oldish, and she said
that I remember our last conversation and the last thing
we said to each other before those eighteen years. I
remember crying that we were going to lose touch because
we were so close. It was almost like going through
a divorce or something. And basically, you know, the fact
that she was with some an ex now X that

(18:09):
Brian did not necessarily approve of it got kind of sticky.
I'm happy that these two are reunited because they've bonded
and they've you know, gone through nine o two one
zero together, which was such a trademark, especially in this industry,
and to kind of part ways without communication like that
and misunderstandings is sad, you know, So I'm glad they've reunited.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Yeah, And I think what's interesting is they were both
involved with someone who had been on the show. You know,
Brian Austin Green was with Vanessa Marcill and you had
Vincent Young together with Tory at the time, and so
it just makes things even more complicated.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
But at the end, you know, Donna and David reunited
and forgot they were together. Oh no, oh, yes, Oh
my gosh. I have to say. It kind of reminds
me of the bond that we have on Dancing with
the Stars with all the other pro dancers as well.
It's like, you know, there's chapters like editeph for example,
we were we grew up together and then like I

(19:06):
haven't seen her since I interviewed her here, And this
is why I love the podcast. But like we are,
we have this bond that will have no matter what forever,
Like it doesn't matter how long we go without talking,
We're going to always have this memory, you know, and
what a great one.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Yeah, and you can. What it's great about is that
you can always pick up where you left off. You
don't have to sit there and talk every single day,
but there's there's always something about the friendship there.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Let's talk Caitlyn Bristow. First of all, have we talked
about this about girl code? What is your uh you
want to just take this story over? Uh.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
So Caitlin Bristow was on a podcast this week and
she talked about the fact because she is dating Zach Clark,
who has.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Not confirmed confirmed though. Yeah, allegedly she's dating Zach Clark.
That's what they've been spotted together. They've been but it
hasn't been like ig confirmed yet, it hasn't been.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Yeah, and they haven't done a red carpet together any
and that's very quiet. And there's definitely been like photos
of them like in proximity of each other. Yes, So
people have definitely in Bachelor Nation, you know what I'm
talking about. But Zach Clark has a lot of people
know who follow all the Bachelor Bachelorette news was Tasha's
her ex fiance and allegedly, well, Caitlyn told the story,

(20:22):
so it's not even allegedly, but she she didn't mention names.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Yea, she reached out.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
To somebody who happened to be dating somebody, which would
be if if we're written between the lines, allegedly reached
out to Tasha to ask if it was okay if
she kind of like hung out with her ex fiance Zach.
And that is where like the girl code really comes in,
because you know, I think Caitlyn had the expectation that

(20:48):
Tasha was going to be like, thank you so much
for asking. Yeah, it's a little uncomfortable, but of course,
go out, be happy, do your thing. And that's not
really the response that she got. Girl code is girl code,
and I truly believe in that. But when she saying
that they weren't close, they weren't even she wouldn't call
Taysha her friend, Like should they just work together when
you're just working with someone? Does that automatically make you

(21:11):
guys have to follow girl code? I'm just wondering, Well,
I think that there's like two sides so this. And
first of all, Tasha is in a relationship with Luke
from Summer House, so I think that was probably some
of where Caitlyn was also coming from, like, hey, you're
in a happy relationship. I just want to double check
with you.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
But I think some.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
People in Bachelor Nation are like, well, even though you
may not be besties outside of work, you guys were
co hosts together and you were in a particular spotlight.
Doesn't that feel kind of uncomfortable because I think at
the time Tasha had just broken up with Zach when
they had co hosted that particular version of The Bachelor,
And so I think like the timing of it all

(21:52):
was Caitlin and Taysha where they you know, after hours
on set, where was Taysha confiding in her of like
what was happening was Zach. Those are the things that
probably come up in question, and maybe that's where, like
a lot of people feel like maybe Caitlyn stepped over
the line on this, although she do think. I think,
I mean, if somebody at this point, I mean, I

(22:12):
have an ex, and I will say this because he
introduced me to my husband, and my friend is now
married to my ex boyfriend. He met her on his own.
But I still think sometimes when you really I know,
it's just like one of those things we all work together,
but it is one of those situations when the person
starts dating even though they're your ex, sometimes you feel like, oh, well,
that's still my friend or that's still my person even

(22:35):
though you're not with them. I think sometimes feelings come up,
you eventually get over it.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
I saw someone say specifically about Caitlin and this whole story, Like,
if you are so sensitive about people clapping back at you,
then don't overshare right now. I don't necessarily. I think
she's just literally as she feels, she is shooting content

(23:03):
and she's choosing.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
To do and you steel loose and you're like, I'm
just gonna like and I think that's the thing. Like,
she is someone who's very comfortable on camera, she's comfortable
in a podcast, she's transparent talking yeah when she's into
the conversation.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
And then she probably later was like like the whole
i'm the d c K word was not necessary to use.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Like she didn't know the comment, And I think she
was just like being flippant and like making a quick
witted comment. But in the whole context of it. Because Vachelination,
of course, is going to come in different camps and
have different sides to this, you probably didn't want to
have that button on the conversation.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Breaking news Alison Holker new romance a year and a
half after death of husband Steven Twitch boss.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Launch that was a soft launch on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
What are your thoughts.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
I am happy that she is finding happiness after something
so devastating. I'm curious, yes, as to whether she will
go public with this romance or she'll just say, you know,
I'm dating.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Someone and leave it at that. Well, she just didn't
her post go public.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Her post republic, But I don't think she tagged anyone.
She didn't tag up unless that's just a soft launch.
I think it's about to have. I mean, there's no
way that paparazzi will get a hold of them, you know,
oh at some point, yeah, for sure, I mean very soon.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
It's not hard like she's in La you know why. Yeah,
I'm not there.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Yeah, it's hard to avoid. And I think you know
she's she's on a red carpet oftentimes too, Like will
she do a hard launch? You know, I look at
it was Patton Oswald, you know, after his wife died,
he wound up getting married, like I think within a year.
But he said, you know, this person brought me back
to life, and we still honor my late wife. And

(24:48):
she's been a bright light obviously for my daughter too.
And I think that you know, we can't judge, We
don't know what people go through, no.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
But I just hope that you know, the kids also
are like love being this person because this is.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
Not just her, you know, Yeah, there are three kids
in the mix, and you know, we always I'm sure
she's you know, I know Alison's always with their kids
and taking care of.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Totally for sure. Yeah, I'll just never forget. Like when
my mom introduced me to my stepdad, I was not
okay with it in the beginning. That was very mean to.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Me when that happened. Six Oh wow, Yeahsie, I always
think like the teen years are where you get like
I don't want this person.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
No, I was not okay interesting and like I already
met his and then like it was fast. I was like, okay,
so I was meeting him, like he's a dentist. I
love my, I love my I call him dad now.
But like then we went straight to his house afterwards,
and I was like, oh, I wasn't thinking like this,
but I was like not. I was confused because like

(25:46):
I thought it was just a nice handshake, and then
Mom and I we're gonna go home, like we're not
going to go meet his daughter now and his dog
that freaking chase me around his house. Like it was
very fast, but it was probably because they were dating
for a while. Already.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
But anyway, yeah, it seemed fast to you because you're
just not prepared. And that's the thing, like how how
do you?

Speaker 1 (26:05):
And when I came from a ballet freaking class and
my mom forgot to give me a tank top and
I wore overalls with my little nipples hanging out my
little chest. I didn't have boobs then, but like I
was like, really, you're gonna make me meet this guy
with just like suspenders covering my nips, my little nips.
You've never forgot.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
So it shows you just how traumatized those moments are though,
how impressionable you are, you know at that age.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
No, really, I remember it like it was yesterday. Okay,
Ariana Maddox, did you I see I never watched Love Island.
I'm assuming you did. I did not.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Actually, you know, it's on my list to watch because
I'm still.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Like thirty five episodes or something. I think a lot
of episodes.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
But you know, I've heard so many great things about
Arianna's turn on Love Island, and I love that she
just really thrived and succeeded. I feel like she's thrived
and succeeded in everything she's done post Scandabal and Vegas ratings.
Right ever, yes, I mean and obviously like that makes
Peacock happy and that investment, and they'll want to bring

(27:05):
her back for the next season. I mean, that's that's
a really big step from a smaller Bravo TV show
into Broadway and Love Island and Dancing with the Stars.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
But will they bring her back because so the headline
is Love Island's Ussay's daia I think is how you say?
Odeya is her name? Criticizes Ariono Mattox hosting after reunion
claims VPR star picked favorites. Okay, so I have to
say on Dancing with the Stars, they do a really
good job with us not having the time or even

(27:36):
like physically being able to interact with the judges or
even the hosts other than like if Alfonso chooses to
watch camera blocking on Sunday, he will and like Tom
Burgeron did that a lot too, just to like connect
with us. If you're already in the studio, why not
stop by and say hi to everyone? But like I
barely saw the judges because like our trailers are on

(27:58):
the opposite ends of the lot, and honestly, there's no
time because they're not they're sitting there during dress arsal,
you know they're watching. I'm assuming they're watching from a
bungalow or their own trailers over there, So there's none
of that happening now for this it must be difficult
because you're like, you want to give advice. I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Yeah. And that's kind of interesting because I think the
host role on Love Island, from what I've seen, is
more of like a friendship role versus like with judges,
especially when you're in a competition, you know, you really do.
You can't have the judges like messing around with the
contestants all the time and everything else like that.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
They want to limit the interaction.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
So I think that there's definitely a different scenario where instead,
you know, you're buy a pool and you're in a
bathing suit, you're in a tropical location.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Totally different. Yeah, well, actually not Big Tan. I mean
we also have Big ten, but we're definitely not out
to kill. I mean, they're not out to kill like
we are. Right, you're right right there, all trophy. But
I have to say, Nick Lache and Vanessa figured it out,
So I think there needs to be a little bit
of maybe a better formula so that the contestants shouldn't
feel like this either.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
You know, right, And that's kind of interesting, although it's
we haven't heard any other contestants say it, so maybe
you know, I'm just personally that's kind of interesting.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Supposedly the host last season, I forgot her name. She
was on Sarah Hyland. Is that her Sarah Highlands? Yeah,
same thing happened with her. It's interesting. Let's talk about Unfortunately,
we're going to talk more about domestic violence. Jana Kramer

(29:37):
disagrees with Blake Lively's it Ends with Us DV messaging
it does define you, And I'm with Jenna. I mean,
let me just read a little bit. I've seen clips
of Blake's interviews and I have not found them amusing
like she did. A survivor of domestic violence, Jenna Kramer
has some thoughts about Blake Lively's it Ends with Us promotion.

(29:59):
She said, I would love the messaging to go to
DV domestic violence with media instead of talking about riffs
and everything else. The movie is about domestic violence. I
haven't seen the movie. I have a tough time watching
movies that deal with domestic violence given my history with it.
And then Lively basically has faced criticism for not focusing

(30:19):
enough on the film's domestic violence messaging in the press,
and I think she's been pretty much outed a lot,
not just for this subject, but for other things as well.
She said that I started hearing stuff about the interviews.
Jenna says this, and for me, I was just like
it made me sad because I just want the messaging
to be about domestic violence and how to help people

(30:42):
and how to get help. So like, I don't know,
I doubt that Blake has ever dealt with this personally,
but it is her duty, it's her publicist duty as
well to have a quick meeting about the messaging that
needs to be sent here, because you take on this
responsibility regardless of you've gone through it or not. When

(31:03):
you have said yes to playing a part and a
part that deals with domestic violence, you have to be
ready to talk about it.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Yeah, And I think you know there's there was an
alleged feud behind the scenes with director and co star
Justin Baldoni. This has been his passion project and he's
been talking a lot about resources of where people can
get help, and he's been talking about the domestic violence
messaging of the movie itself, and I know that allegedly
he and Blake did not get along, and he holds

(31:34):
the rights to the sequel. There is a sequel book.
Colleen Hoover has a second book called It Starts with Us.
And I don't know how you get the second movie
made if the two of them are not getting along.
But the movie has made over two hundred and fifty
two hundred and forty five million dollars globally on a
twenty five million dollar budget, So the studios are going

(31:55):
to want to green light that sequel.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
I wonder if this press, even though it's great, helped,
I bet so.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
I mean because I would think, like, hey, I want
to see this movie to see with their chemistry is
like did they hate each other on screen? Or did
they not?

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Okay? So I just talked to Jack Osborne. I just
interviewed him his interviews coming out in a few days,
and Kelly Osborne basically sends warning, a warning message after
her boyfriend Sid Wilson is hospitalized with burn injury. So
I just asked quickly, I asked, Jack, you know, how
how is he? Is he okay? And he was trying
to light some sort of fire pit and literally burned

(32:31):
on fire. But he was like on fire, like his
whole body. He was just this is what Kelly said, quote,
this is why you don't f uck with burn piles.
He literally set himself on fire and exploded everything. Poor guy.
That is scary, so scary. Kids don't play with fire,
like really adults. Burns are the worst thing. I had

(32:55):
second to ree burns.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I had a oh really had a waitress wants spilled
like a huge one of those catering trays of hot water,
and I had second degree burns, like all down the
front of my body. And it is ouch, so painful
it is, and it's a long recovery.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
It's like she must have felt so bad.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
It was terrible. It was a terrible situation. And your
body goes into shock because of the temples are changed
right away, and it takes about a.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Year for all down your body. Yeah, so it was
like scars.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
I don't have scars, that's the amazing thing, because they
were second degree burns and not third degree burns. Lucky,
but it takes about a year for the skin to
actually heal itself.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
It's purple. It was awful. Oh, Okay, well, let's do
this last story. Kelly Monaco. I cannot believe I read this.
I reached out to her having heard back, which is
completely understandable, but I don't know. Okay. So basically, Kelly
is exiting General Hospital after twenty one years. Okay. So

(33:54):
I just talked to Cameron Matheson when I interviewed him
on the pod, and he was so excited to have
some and on again for or renewed his contract because
he loves working with Kelly, you know. And I never
thought this day would come. Like when Kelly and I
used to be so close, I would see these scripts
being sent to her house every morning, and I was like,

(34:14):
I don't know how the hell you do this? And
she literally said to me, even like when back in
the day, She's like, I'm gonna be doing this forever
like this is you know, it's consistent, it's great, and
it's her family. And I'm not sure if this was
her decision or whatever who's ever it was, it doesn't matter.
It still has got to her. Like I just know
from leaving Dancing with the Stars, and I was not

(34:35):
nearly on as long as she's been on a General hospital.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, This was big news in the daytime world. And
you know, she's played Sam McCall for you know, over
two decades. This is another sort of situation of budget
cuts and amy. Yeah, with Kelly Monico, well, she's an original.
Some of the long term stars are being asked to
take pay cuts, and I think there's some allegations that

(34:59):
she did agree to the pay cut, but then they
wound up. You know, they're going to kill off her
character anyway, just because of daytime and ratings and things
are going on.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
To side that, because Kelly's a fan favorite. I don't
care what good for the ratings.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
There's a campaign and it's very successful right now to
try and keep her character Sam on the show.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
She won Dancing with the Stars, not by just believing,
not by the judges votes. Okay, it was by people
at home voting for her. People love Kelly.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
My friend Errol, actually Errol Lewis is the one who
went and broke the news and he just said that
she was stunned, like shocked, surprised all of those heartbreaking. Yeah. Yeah,
But hopefully the campaign because I heard that like ABC
is paying attention to what the fans are saying. Because
the outcry is huge on social media.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
People will kill for Kelly. She's amazing, She's a Daytime icon,
like how but like, how dare they? I get so
angry with like people who have been so loyal to
the network like UGH and to Daytime Daytime.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
You know the actors because I do a lot of
interviews with soaps dot com Fort Daytime, and first of all,
they're also kind, they're approachable, They're always willing to say yes,
they're great with their fans, and sometimes they get the
worst rap because they're like, oh, you're in Daytime.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
So boppers are dying. Carara said he got thrown like
an orange at his head when he was in the
grocery store because of his character on GH. But let
me tell you something. I know Kelly. Even if this
petition does like and everyone hears, I don't know if
she would be willing to go back after this.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Yeah, I'll be curious to see what happens. I was
painful fries if another soap scooped her up.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Good for yes, that would be great or even better,
Like she needs to get on that big screen like
we're doing movies now.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
Yeah, I could see CBS Daytime scooping her up.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Yes, okay, last story Julian Huff. So, I've been following
her closely lately because I, you know, we I've known
her forever, first of all. Second of all, I love
that she's slowly starting to come out and meaning like
tell her story when it comes to sexual abuse or
any type of trauma that's happened to her. Like I'm

(37:03):
seeing her unfold her own story as we all are.
With this press tour that she's been doing. She really
became so vulnerable on the Jamie Kern Show. I think
that's her last name, Kern, and she this was a
three parter and I saw it all last night, and
I was bawling my eyes out because I was just
so like the relief of just finally putting trauma to

(37:26):
words is such a load off once you can do it.
And I'm just so happy for her and her healing
and grateful that she's able to talk about it all
without hopefully feeling guilty. And I really believe that just
from experience, when you do talk about something so deep
and personal, it does take a little of the shame away.

(37:48):
And she basically in this article, though there's so many
headlines about this one interview she did with Jamie she
talks about how her dogs died, which are my this
is my worst nightmare, like my worst nightmare. This in
California we lived, we lived about eight minutes away from
each other, and there's there are coyotes everywhere, just everywhere,
and gosh, this is how her two dogs died by

(38:11):
coyotes and she wasn't even there. And then she talks
about how she was going through a divorce at the
same time, her and assistant broke up in a way
because her assistant did not they stopped working together. She
was doing k energy and here she is like trying
to help people, yet she feels so empty herself. And
it was a beautiful interview. Everyone should watch it.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Yeah, it was a great interview. And I've interviewed Julianne
many times over the years, and it's interesting, like watching
this round of interviews versus what I've done in the past.
There's always felt like a wall up with some of
her interviews, like she's trying to keep everybody out, and
obviously she's open right now and she's vulnerable, and you
can feel like the wall just come crashing down, and
it's a beautiful side to see of her.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
It really is made so emotional. Last story for real?
Do you want to talk? Do you have any questions
about my interview with still Palin at all? Or oh
did you hear it yet? Or has theres just been
too much to catch up on? There's been a lot
going on.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
But you know, Bristol was interesting because obviously the Max
headline was was the one that everyone like really reached out.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
Just shocking because it wasn't even Max so much about that,
it was about Brandy but okay.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
Yeah, I know it was not funny, and then you know,
Max had to put out a statement and it's just
it was one of those situations where like the story
spent outic.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
I read her book and it was mainly about like
my interview with Bristol was about. What I was really
curious about was just the teenage pregnancy and all of
that and her feelings with basically realizing that, you know,
the whole me too thing was something that was not
necessarily brought up to her often put it that way

(39:47):
when it comes to her losing her virginity and stuff.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
So yeah, that's a I mean, consent is a huge,
huge topic too.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Yeah, and her son moving back with his dad and
told her via text, like it broke my heart.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
It's so hard because he's at that age where and
I you know, I think she said to you know,
like I get it. He's at that age he wants
to get to know his dad better. He needs his dad.
But she's like, it doesn't mean that that moment doesn't hurt.
Of course it hurts because she wants her baby with her.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
And just like, oh, that must be heart shattering. And
she's single too, so.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
Yeah, this, you know, hears her story is very interesting too,
and you know, obviously she came back to do Dancing
with the Stars and during the All Star season, and
you know, it's it's always interesting comparing like the first
time you go and then you come back to All
Stars and you know, the audience always kept her around
and people got frustrated. But I'm like when they latch
onto a contestant but they like or they're rooting for,

(40:46):
doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
She didn't last that long for All Stars, No, not
compared to her first ground. She also talks about how
they shot this dude shot at his TV when she
got through, like he was that mad yep shot a
whole round at his television and also there was this
white powdery substance that got delivered to CBS. I'll never

(41:08):
forget it. It was this whole thing. They had to
shut down production for a hot second. It was bad.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
I think people forget some of the dramatic stories that
have happened at Dancing with Stars. You know you experienced
it with you know, Ryan Lockday, we watched that on
live TV. But you know you have Bristol Palin dealing
with this. Remember Sean Johnson had a stalker.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
Yes and no, but he also had in his van.
It was like pictures of just kids and her and
it was so disturbing.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Dancing with the Stars has a really wild history. And
I don't think people because a lot of the fans
now are younger. You know, they're following because Jojo was
on the show or Charlie was on the show.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
But do you really think I don't. I think they're
still dominated by the older.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
There are, for sure, yeah, but I think that the
social media set that's really following the show is young.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
Yeah, but they're not watching. I think. I don't know
how ratings work, but is the ratings if you just
watch one dance on YouTube or no, right, that's.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
Now the oone impacts the Nielsen ratings.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
Yeah, that's probably why it looks old.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
Although last season did much better than the solely on
Disney Plus season or the ratings ratings were up from
the prior time it was on ABC.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
So I'm trying to think we were on thirty six.
So hard to measure now, right, because you've got Disney
Plus Hulu and it's like then network.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
I know, it's crazy because they have all these measurements,
but thirty wasn't great. Thirty one, it went to Disney Plus,
thirty two, it went back to ABC and Disney Plus.
But that was a successful experiment for them to do
both streaming and broadcast.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Well yeah, because you're like getting more.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
You're getting you're maximizing it and then people can go
back and watch it too, So that's good.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Okay, Well, there's so much like my I think we
have to like to be continued.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
This is not over, Yes, because we will have a
full cast next week.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
Yes, and update partnerships. Yeah. Thank you, Kristin, You're the best.
