Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ooh, Sevy, I like to keep it real simple. All right,
you guys, it's Wednesday. I'm so freaking excited because I
met these two and she sneezed, are you?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I think it's only you?
Speaker 3 (00:20):
I think it's you know.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
I mean he's around you.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
You never sneek.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
I smell like I smell like bleach and gain. I
think I use you.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Smell like Cincinnati chili.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
No, I just kidding, not a compliment.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
The chocolate and you know, the good parts. The furry label.
I was like, he goes, yeah, I bought it for
the furry label.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
He is hilarious. Oh oh, well, we didn't even say
who you guys were. Wait, how long do you think
it would take them to guess?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
So guess. I don't know. It surprised me on the
Make a Wish Live. How long to come?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Have we said our actual name?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
No? No, we haven't. Let's just like keep it this
way nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
I wonder if we just say it at the very end,
let's do it, they'll figure it out, like as they Yeah,
they're like wait a minute.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Hey, they'll hang on. They'll hang on till the very end.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Wait, can you forward? No, you gotta listen to commercials.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
I think, I don't know. You're the one doing this,
not me.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
I did a video the other day. I'm like, I
don't even care. Skip to the end so you see them.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Ads. Darn it, that's yeah, that's YouTube anywhere. It's like
three ads. Come on, guys.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well, I feel like we're besties now. We've been hanging
out since Saturday. I don't even my days are so no, I.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Feel like a week.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Are you like that? You're like, wait, what day is it?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
All the time?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Okay? I thought I was losing it.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I feel like weekends are are like start of the week,
and so anytime we go out, Duran's like, why are
we going out on a Saturday.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I'm like, you know, everybody goes. Well, it just happens
to work out that way.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
If I didn't have the watch, I would never know. Yeah,
I'm like, this is the watch ye on top to
the right.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Well, I always look at the date. I'm not really
worried about what day of the week, but I gotta
worry about both, don't.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
I'm like, what's today?
Speaker 3 (02:22):
I will say when we own the business, I won't
say what type of business, but when we own the business,
we knew more what day it was, but.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah, she said, I worked.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
I'll be honest. She ran the restaurant like I did
the back end. The I brewed all the beer. You know,
I didn't have I didn't know what day it was.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
She did actual schedule. It was down.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
We've got a whole servant tables.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Oh you did, so you did it all.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah. So what we did when at the at the
business was everybody did everything except the cook. So the
cook came in, did cook like prep work and cooking,
and then a little bit of dishes and that's it.
But if you were a server or somebody that worked
the counter, you served, you did dishes, you put orders away,
you poured beer like you did everything. And the unfortunate
(03:09):
part is I could cook and do everything else. So
there would be days I'd be down as a cook
and it was a true mom.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
And Pop like except Pop was telling them. And then
and then I would work.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I would work all week or work all day and
then come home and he'd be like, Okay, we got
a film video. Oh honestly, the heck we are in
the beginning.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Looks in the videos are probably like right.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Legit, Joe.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
He would always say, if you the like angrier you
are when we go into a video, the better I know.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
I knew it was going to be golden. Like if
she was angry and did not not want to do
the videos, I'm like, oh, this is going.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
To be a I mean because she looked annoyed.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Still, it's going to be a banger. Yeah, And every time,
every time to know that, it was like, oh yeah, no,
early on, like we probably wouldn't have made it where
we are today if not for like, you know, me
being like, maybe I don't care how tired you are,
we gotta we gotta do this video. But you know
all the fat jokes were hers, So let's just put that.
Put that out there.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Well, we better yeah, we better make sure you guys.
I know you guys have guessed it by now who
it is the blonde Brewer. But I've not seen pictures
of the establishment, So is it legit?
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Do you guys? They're both driving their phones right now, No,
I believe you.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
I finally went on Google and labeled it as permanently
closed because we were getting so many people just randomly
showing up. And the new production facility that I'm still
working on is right next to our home. So so
I'm like, God, let's not have this. But yeah, we
were still building this warehouse so we can eventually maybe
(04:42):
produce the Blomber beer again and distribute it. It's been
a long process and a lot of work, you know,
with with the social media and all that.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
And it hasn't really been like at the top of
our list, like we just like when we have time
to work on.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
It's been a very expensive side project.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yes, I'm a labor of love, but this was this
was something we did started before social media, and it
was like, you know, we both come from business degrees
and we knew we always wanted to work for ourselves.
So we worked so hard to build up the brewery
that when we kind of diverted to social media and
(05:17):
like actually took the plunge to say let's close our
doors and commit full time, that was a big deal.
Like we probably should have done it six months prior to.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Oh yeah, well we I'm sure you guys were exhausted well,
and we.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Were keeping the business aflow. After COVID it just wasn't
the same.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
So let's talk about that. So business was great, it
was booming. In fact, tell Us about where it was located,
because you guys had to have been like crazy busy.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Oh yeah, yeah. So we ended up moving to Saint Helen's,
Oregon because I was a nursing home administrator and there's
a nursing home there that need an administrator and so
I was doing that for four years thereabout, and home
brewing on the side for years.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Were you like one of those moonshiners? Like like, no, honestly,
maggy quiet.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
We have pictures basically that in port Orchard, Washington. We
lived out in the woods and I'm just like, here
we go another match.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
You know.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
It was yes, it was so shady. Yeah. So we
moved north of Portland, Orgon. I'm like, there's no breweries here.
We were like thirty minutes north of Portland, organ there
was no breweries. I think there's one that had closed
right when we moved there. We're like, what an opportunity
to maybe look for Actually I was thinking just distribute beer,
(06:36):
and he.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Doesn't want to be on the run.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. So Megan's like, how about we
just open a brick and mortar, like, you know, an
actual group hub, And I'm like, you're down to do that?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
You know, and and she's like, I was so bored, though,
I because I've been somebody that works my whole life.
And so when we moved, we've I've had to quit
my job. Like going back in time, I had quit
my job in where we were live in like Renton area.
I was managed. I was twenty one and I was
(07:09):
one of the youngest managers for this company called pet Pros,
and I was up for district manager position. I'm really
hard because I heard it.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
I was like, I'm not going to say.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
I was like, that's a big deal, like being that
young and moving up. And so his company was like,
we're going to move you guys. And thankfully, Jared's like,
if we move, you have to pay my wage and
what my wife would be making had she got this job,
because if we stayed, she would have it would It
was the second time I was up for district manager.
So when we moved, we moved to Corlane. I finished
(07:43):
out college and then we moved to Helens and he
would be coming home from work. I'm like, I'm so bored.
I joined MLM Companies like I was selling makeups. I
didn't know anybody there because I didn't work or anything
which one did.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Was it makeup? Was it?
Speaker 3 (08:05):
So?
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I did Unique for a little while, makeup, and then
I switched over to Lime Life for a while and
they're both makeup and I did really well, but it
like it was mainly I just wanted something to do.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Yeah, And I'm like, what did I tell you? What
did I tell you?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
I don't remember.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
I said, enjoy this time because.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
I you know, I kind of miss it because I
read so much. I was in the best shape of
my life. I was making, you know, spend extra, spending money.
And then he came home. I'm like, let's open the
brewer and he's like, are you sure you want to
do that. I'm like, yeah, I'll run it on bored anyway.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah. No, she was like, I'll work anywhere. At this point,
you know.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I regret my decision because I was working five days
of weeks two and then when we opened up seven
days a week, I was pretty much working seven days
a week.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
The community was so hungry for a brewery there, it
was insane, and they wanted a place to just hand
out and do fun things. And so Maggie was a
genius with all the events we were doing, trivia nights
being I mean, you name it, we were doing it.
We even had like comedy shows there for people.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Did you guys get up and do any comedy?
Speaker 3 (09:11):
No, that was before before Yeah, I guess before we
knew we were funny. I don't know, like.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
You guys you were funny.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah, I mean I still don't think I'm funny. I
hate my skits. I don't know, like, but that is awesome.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
We had comedy nights, yoga and beer, live music, Like
every weekend there was something going on during the weeks.
We had stuff going on it. We really like, we're
kind of like the living room for the community to
hang out and do. We had board games, everything, and
then COVID Covid.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Well before that though, I applied for a national grant
through NAB and they're like a big business loan company,
and I go, mayge, I think we got a good
shot at like winning this national grant. And so I
wrote this whole thing up about what we were doing
for the community, all these events, and.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
We had to make a video for that.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Oh, we did have to make a video.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
I forgot.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
I completely forgot about that. And so the company called
us up now and they're like Hey, we've got some
news for you. You didn't win first place, but you
won second, but we want to fly out to you
to give you the second place check right.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
And so they came out and oh, what are you
laughing about the story?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Yeah, and they had I mean, they had a whole
film crew and I'm like, oh, this is like pretty
serious for like second place. Right, Well, we won first place,
and they just wanted to surprise us.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah, and we were the very first brick and mortar
that they had ever given the grant too. Yeah, like
everybody else that had gotten the grant previously was like
online businesses. So that's why they made such a big
deal about it, is we were the first brick and
mortar that they were giving it to.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
That was the very first time we made national news.
I think it ended up on like Forbes online or something.
And yeah, and so a lot of people don't know
about that, yeah prior and it was a pretty cool thing.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
But you guys were busy because you were telling me
earlier about this was Halloween Town and where Twilight was filmed.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yes, yeah, and I'll let you talk about that.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
You're the Halloween bo Yeah, so Halloween Town the Disney
movie was filmed there, and so every October, from like
mid September through the first week of November, they basically
shut down all downtown. It's decorated like Halloween Town. They
have events going on the whole time. They bring the
(11:32):
cast from Halloween Town to the town, and they also
bring cast members from Twilight to the town. So we've
gotten to meet like Emily, Yeah, we met I forget
his actual name, but doctor Colin from Twilight. He actually
had a meet and greet Atta Brewery. And then we
had Emily who played Sophie from Halloween Town. We're actually
(11:54):
friends with her now that we got to meet through
Halloween Town even you know, really before social media. So
that was the cool part of it. But I mean,
we'd had thousands of people walk through our tiny, tiny
little brewery through the month of October. So we would
be working from the minute the doors well actually like
(12:15):
the minute we woke up to the minute we went
to bed. We were working just to be prepared for
the next day and have it cleaned.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
And yeah, so now people are like, how do you
travel so much and do the social media all the time,
And we're like, we were doing that. You know well
before this, you know, so this is actually kind of nice.
We just get to you know, not have employees and
we're doing it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yeah, So COVID happens. What was your first video? Wait,
who was the one that decided it started as.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
A competition it did? Oh yeah, so we went COVID happened.
We got the news that we were going to be
shut down, like legit shut down. We got shut down.
We worked through the summer, we got shut down again.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Oregan was rough on restaurants. It was almost like the
blame was on the restaurants. It was ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
So the time we got shut down again was right
as we were going in a winter and we're like,
what are we going to do? We can't work. We
could be open for like takeout service, but we didn't
want to lay off all our employees. So we took
advantage of the PPP loan and we basically said we'll
take the loan. I didn't work at all down there.
(13:20):
We just kept our employees working and then we went
on vacation.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
We did we took vacation.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Yeah, we we were like what do we were bored?
What do we do? We're caught up on all the
business stuff. So we went to.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Mexico cosmel or something like that.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
And we were celebrating our anniversary and we met somebody
there that had just hit ten thousand followers on TikTok.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Which was a big deal back then.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Yeah, and she's like a part of the creator's fund.
This is amazing. And she was, yeah, very good looking gal,
and she was an insta you know, perfect Instagram model type.
But she's like, yeah, I just do the Instagram thing
and social media. Anda and Megi and I were looking
at her like, oh, we can make something of it. Yeah,
we're not in the models, but we can definitely catapult this,
(14:06):
you know, we can do that. So while we were there,
I think we had said, let's start our own page
when we get home. Did we even start the patrol
we were there.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Well, so we had like I had a page already
that I just like played around with. I think we
had one video up at the time or maybe two
that we you know, just goofing off throughout the summer,
but nothing like I'm going to post to actually like
try to do anything. And I think you had one
that you had never posted to.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
I think it was a music Lee they got transferred
or something.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, but yeah, so then we we were like, let's
see it's mid December. By New Year's Day, who can
have the most followers?
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Insider info, everything is a competition amongst us, like our
marriage is a business of competition, like honestly, so the
competition wasn't like, you know, it had nothing to new
with people watching our stuff. It was like, all right,
who can have the most followers? But end of year
and I don't know what, like what spin.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Off am I am smelling a spin off? And like
see who can get to like ten millions?
Speaker 3 (15:04):
No, but it was like just that first point. So
I started my page, she started hers. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
So we both posted like every day through whatever the
Christmas season and I am still very salty about this,
but I found a video he was like brewing beer
because we still had a brew beer for the business,
so he was out brewing about your beer. I'm like, hey,
I got this video idea that would be perfect for
your page. I showed him the video. He's like, bet,
(15:31):
I'll do it, Like he's it's this thing where he's
hiding under the bed.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
And if I do, I'm getting naked basically, So I
swear to God, I swear to god.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
It was this Katie Currig audio where he had to
pretend like he was the guy hiding in the closet
and the girl's getting caught.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
But I was under the bed.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
So he's under the bed. I'm holding the light and
recording the video for him for his page. This video
blows up.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
I kid you not, though half of my butt cheek
was in it. Like today, we would never get away
with that.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
But still it's still So it's going viral. He posts it,
it's like doing well. It hits like eighteen thousand views,
which was big for.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
It, which is still a lot. Though back back at all,
Oh yeah, and we.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Were on the way to get like a COVID test.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
No no, no, no, Well you go out you're brewing. I'm like,
you're going viral And he's like, oh yeah right, I'm like, no, seriously,
you're going viral.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
I had no idea what that mant. Like, I knew
we're doing this social media, but I'm like, viral. Okay.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
So we had, you know, just come back from Mexico.
You that was they had to test you when you
left the country, and then we went ahead and opted
in to get tested before, like i'd go back down
to work just for safety. So we were on our
way to go get another COVID test just to make sure.
And I remember watching I think we have a video
of it. I'm watching his numbers, his followers grow.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
I'm privately recording her getting pissed, like I'm mad because
the video was my idea.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
I filmed it. I'm holding the lie and I like
made him go viral, and he's like, what's what's wrong?
What's wrong? I'm like, you're you went from like one
hundred followers to like six thousand, he's about to hit
eight thousand. Uh. Fast forward. By the time New Year's
Day comes, he's at like twenty thousand followers, yeah, or
(17:21):
something in two weeks. And I hadn't even I was like,
you know, I had maybe eight thousand. I hadn't even
hit it.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Had no clue what the heck I was doing? You
know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Now, like you put your ass out, That's what it was.
You viral like back to back to back because of that,
And then if.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
You watch that Katie carrig One though, it like I
convinced myself that that's my voice. It's crazy like it
matched perfectly.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
You're gonna have to he did good.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yeah, uh so he won the competition.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Okay, but like January, hold on.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Though, she's like a week or two later, she's sitting
down on the hot taball depressed, and I'm like, you.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Don't need to tell this, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
It's funny because like we had been together ten years
plus at that time, and I'm like, so, what's going
on because I was obviously joking with her about like,
oh yeah, i'd be you know.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
But she's like, legit depressed, and I'm like, what's up,
Like if it's about the TikTok, like, I don't care,
I'll delete my TikTok. It's not that big of a deal. No, honestly,
I just didn't see you. I can be, I can be.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
But he didn't delete it.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
I did not delete it. No, But she's like no, no,
like I'm very proud of you, Like you know, it's
just like I'm so proud of you and you should
keep doing it. And I'm like no, but like, seriously, me,
what's the problem. She's like, Well, when I was growing up,
I just always wanted to be an actress. And I'm like,
are you kidding me? Right now? I've never heard that
out of your mouth. You know, we had been together
(18:42):
ten years plus, and she's like, yeah no, I just
always want to be an actress. So I'm like, okay,
well see acting.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Then in that moment too, I could have been.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Thinking back, yes, I mean, if she would have got
me to delete my page, I'd be like, I got bamboozled.
But she's a very actress by the way I found
that out. Yeah no, So at that part she's like, no,
keep your page up, and she ended up coming.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Up with the video in that very same day. It
was the same day I got out of the hot tub.
I was like, I had this idea.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
I'm just driven to beat my butt.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Let's just film it. It's just gonna be something to
throw up extra. You know, like you have the videos
you work really hard on, and then you have the
ones that you're like, let's just film it really quick
because I don't think it's going to go anywhere, and
those are the ones that blow up. That's this one.
So it was I was stitching a video of a
girl that's like, be honest, why are you not going
(19:37):
out on that date? Or something like that.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
The OJ's will remember this one.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
And I was like, Okay, Jared, I'm going to stitch
this video. I'm gonna say my roommate doesn't like it
when I bring other men home and You're going to
be in the background and be like, I'm your husband,
not your roommate, and I'll be like, I didn't know
you were in here, kind of thing. So we we
did it a couple times, and I remember he was
having the hardest time film in this video because he's
not even in it. It's just the sound of him,
(20:01):
but he could not keep his He got the giggles
so bad.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
I was so stupid.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
He trying to mess with her.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
He was so stupid to me, and like, really, a
lot of the videos that we do, I'm like, maybe
this is so stupid, but it's always those ones that work,
and she's like, no, no, no, just trust me, like
this would be a good video. I'm like, all right,
but I couldn't stop laughing about the fact that it
was so stupid.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Yeah, So we ended up. I waited. I posted it
the next morning and by the end of the day
it had like two mil and that's like, I mean,
it hadn't even been up for twenty four hours. That
was a lot and you had a lot now no
followers really for then it was like, oh man, I'm
I'm hot shit, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Like this every minute.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
By the time it hit twenty four hours, it was
like like six mil. And then I think it capped
out at like thirteen or sixteen million. But this audio
was one that everybody was using. I think Kelly Rowan
from from Desney's Child to use that audio, and I
like the used audio bars. Every every year, I'll be
(21:07):
scrolling all of a sudden, I'm like, wait a minute,
that's my voice. Yeah, Like it'll like it'll be one
of those audios that will go away, and then all
of a sudden people are using it and I'm like, okay,
like this is weird, but.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Yeah, no, it worked. It worked for you, and she won.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
She was playing I was gonna say, I was playing
the long game.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Oh yeah, she won the war January, like right after
I was just complaining about him having so many followers.
That boosted my account and do one hundred thousand from
like I think I had fifteen and it By the
time that video kind of died out, we had hit a.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Hunt and Daren was in the hot tub and you
had to go out, and I was one crying.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
At the point.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
No, but to go with that story, we were refreshing
my page. I was at like ninety nine eight, ninety
nine nine. I hit one hundred thousand, daring like refreshed it.
And he's like, you hit one hundred thousand, and I
just remember he's laying on the floor, just like laying
on the floor, solemn face, like you're gonna be okay.
(22:06):
He goes, yeah, I'm just I'm really happy, Like it
was like the reverse. I'm really happy for you, but
I always want to be an actress right now. And
then he was like, I think we should combine pages.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
I mean it wasn't immediately, but yeah, I was like,
we can join for well, I'll tell you what happened.
I kept getting my videos taken down because I kept
pushing it and pushing it.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Put your butt out.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I was using the Borat costume and it was not
working for me. Sorry, sorry, TikTok.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
So the brain's behind the operation is.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
So now it's really cool now though that I'm so
glad we did combine forces and pursued it that way
because we have. It's taken a while, but we really
have a really good system where he's really good with
anything music related, Like he can listen to basically any
song and come up with some sort of video for it,
(23:02):
which is amazing. And then I'd like to like really
write out scripts, so like if it's this really scripty
type thing, most likely it was something that I came
up with, and then we'll combine and he'll be he
I'll be like, I have this idea, this is kind
of the script, and then he'll take it and he'll
be like, Okay, we'll film your part like this, and
then I'll cut like he's like a director and he'll
(23:23):
he like paints the picture.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
How do I see the whole video in my head?
Speaker 2 (23:27):
And yeah, So it's it's people always ask who comes
up with the content, and it's like.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
You guys make a good team.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Yeah, it's it's very much both of us. We on
the radio, uh that we did earlier, he was beginning
to say, like I came up with the joke for
Gangster's Paradise, Like the very first joke, the joke was me,
everything else was him. So like the song choice, the
way we filmed it, because I wanted to film it
a completely different way.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
And we find oh yeah, no, like she gangster may
not may not have happened if we didn't figure it out,
you know what I mean, Like I want it because
you know, all the couples were doing like both people
in frame and so like a phone on a stand
in they're both in frame and then either doing the
joke and then walking off. But I had seen this
(24:13):
older guy, I mean, he probably was in his sixties
do like he went in the kitchen, joked on his
wife and then walked away. He was actually running away
because she was running after him with a spoon, wouldn't
spoon And he had never made any other videos, And
I'm like, I loved that video. I would go, let's
do it that style. And I remember we were on
our way to go pick like food up for the
(24:35):
brewery and Gangs's Paradise came on and I go, oh, God,
look at you. Listen to these lyrics, Maggie, listen to
these lyrics. It's perfect. As I walk through the valley
of the Shadow of Death, I take a look at
my life and realize there's nothing left saying that that
savage of a joke and those lyrics fitting and then
with perfect with the walkway. I was like, oh, this
is great, but I will tell you this. We filmed it.
(24:58):
I sat on the couch and I told her, I go,
I don't know if I'm comfortable releasing this because it
was pretty savage at the time, and I didn't want
all the hate. And we had already taken a month
long break because of another video that was it was
a comedy video and it turned into something so much
more about this video that yeah, and the comments were
(25:18):
just about of sexist. So we went off TikTok for
a good month, came back, and then almost immediately done
the gigs Paradise. So I was like, I don't know
if I want this level of hate. But she's like, no, Jared,
it'll work, it'll work, It'll be okay. And thankfully we
did it, you know, obviously, but yeah, no, and then
after that it was just one after the I went
after the other.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
So, speaking of Coolio, how did all of that come together?
Speaker 3 (25:40):
That's an interesting story too. So Coolio was not on
social media at all. He had a sort of manager
at the time, and I forget his name, bit Jurez Durez. Yeah,
but he was also a musician, so he was like
managing Coolio on the side. Mimi, I say, it's his wife. Basically,
his wife was managing his Instagram or something a little bit.
(26:02):
So it was extremely hard to get ahold of him.
I actually reached out because I'm like, at this point,
you know, every video we're doing his thirty milgangst Smparadise,
he's had have heard at least heard about what we're doing,
and so couldn't get a hold of him. Couldn't get
a hold of him. And then one day we had
a comment come in one of the videos and we
just happened to see it amongst all the others.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Yeah, because that's hard when you get those alerts.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Oh yeah. And it was hey, I know I'm friends
with Coolio and we're like, yoh, okay, right, you know,
you should get a hold of me and we'll touch base,
YadA YadA. Well, he had said that two three more times, and.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
He even messaged us. I completely ignored the message. Yeah,
it was like this ain't real. Yeah, and then we
went live again and then he messaged us again.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
And he's like I told her. I was like, let's
just like, see what this guy's about.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
He this was like end of October, you know, our
busy season, and he's like, come to Vegas on Halloween.
I am gonna be meeting up with Coolio.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Oh he was Halloween.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
I will meet up with you guys and introduce you
to Coolie. And mind you, we have not actually seen
this person. We have not seen any pictures of him with.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Coolio, never other than on TikTok, other.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Than and and text messaging a little bit. I'm like,
this person could be completely fake. We have no idea.
So finally I'm like, okay, can you at least like
send me your personal Facebook so I can like see
who you are like? And he did, and I saw
videos with Coolio, like okay, what.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Was on Facebook? And it was just like at events.
So it's like, okay, you could have just opposed with him,
you know, but hey, screw it. Let's but this.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Story gets interesting because we were like, if anything, if
all else fails, we're going to Vegas for the weekend.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Right, this is definitely one of those meant to be moments.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
I mean, it sounds meant to be. She's the Halloween Queen,
You're going to meet him on Halloween. Like all of
this is like.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
We flew into Vegas and he ghosted us. Essentially he
was we didn't know though, like he was not responding.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
That's his name. His name is rich.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
He is a great guy.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
We're good friends with him. Now. He is worse than
me when it comes to texting.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Terrible, terrible. This guy completely one went over on us,
you know. And so we got there and I'm like, Maggie,
I'm gonna get a premium ober. You know, we we
don't come from wealthy backgrounds, you know, and so I'm like,
you know, given the situation, I'm going to get a
premium mover. So I got a premium mover. And the guy,
of course is asking us why we're there and all that,
(28:24):
and we're explaining the story and he goes, no shit,
he goes, I actually know coolio in the uber.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
He goes, this is crazy, but like my ex wife
is still really good friends with me.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Me. He's like, this is so crazy. He's like, do
you guys need help like getting a hold of him,
because I could text Mimi right now, his wife, and
we're like that'd be great. And so he dropped us off. Yeah,
we step in the.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Room and I get a random phone call that was
a Vegas number. Answer it's me me Ivy, and we're.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Both like, oh my god, oh my god, I'm gonna
we were hard. She knew it, but she was also like,
I love you guys.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Yeah, and me me, which we are good friends with
mem now She's like, I've actually been trying to reach
out to you guys on TikTok.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Everybody keeps sending me your guys video.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Videos, and because TikTok we weren't mutuals, it kept going
into like request and I just never saw it. So yeah,
so we we ended up getting to briefly meet Coolio
that weekend.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
It was so yeah, it was good and bad that weekend.
So are We don't have kids, so our dogs are
our kids, and my boy on that trip had just
randomly got sick and it was starting to he was
really sick. He was starting to throw up everywhere, and
so I think right after that call we had heard
about it.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Yeah, so yeah, basically, right after we talked to Mimi,
we got a call that our dog was sick and we're.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Like and we left, and he was like perfectly, yeah,
just watch.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Them, and then we got another call and they're like, no,
he's like really sick.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
And so we them on video and we're like, immediately
you could you know, you could see you're yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
So I'm calling vets while we're trying to coordinate meeting Coolio.
I'm calling like all the vets near them and getting
trying to get him into an emergency and of course
it's still during COVID, so.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Like it was a terrible situation.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
You have to drop the dog off, you can't like
go in and all these things, and us not even
being there. It was a little bit harder, but I'm like,
I will give credit card whatever you need. Right then
we got the call. The vet was like, it looks
like it looks like he might have something on his
liver and we we don't know what it is, and
so we're gonna put him in emergency surgery and remove
(30:40):
it from his liver. And they opened him up and
they're like, well.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
We So we met up with Coolio at the event
and we were there maybe five, five, ten minutes, and
this is.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
When we get the call. The call and my dog
is open on the table when we're getting this call
and they say he has cancer or it's it's all
over his liver. We can't there's no way we'll be
able to cut it off without him dying. We suggest
you let him go.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Yeah, and like I'm gonna cry, Like.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
We weren't there and they wanted.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
To us be like make that decision.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Yeah, yeah, it was. It was really tough. So we
were a.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Hot so we like we didn't even say goodbye. We
were we we had met Coolio took like one little
video showing that we were there and we were gone.
Like I was calling the airport. I'm like, you sew
my dog back up, you do not put him down,
Like you're not gonna let me not say goodbye, And
I was like, you are not putting my dog down
(31:45):
without me there, And so we we didn't really even
get to meet Coolio. That was the first time.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Yeah, we met. We said hi basically, and then and
then took off in We're like, well, you know, hope
they understand, and so, uh yeah in a couple of
years now, you know, it's crazy. As we got back
home and I mean we were an hour actually three hours, yeah,
so away from.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
He was being dogs are his My father in law
was watching him and he lives like two and a
half hours from where we were. So we fly in
to Portland, drive up to basically Seattle and it's like
middle of the night. We're driving straight to the vet.
We're got no sleep obviously because we you know, we
(32:31):
thought we were gonna like go say goodbye to the
dog that so Chester. We got Chester right after we
got married. So we got married and then we got Chester.
So we had another dog previously that we lost really
tragically as well. But Chester was like our life dog,
like he went through everything with us.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Yeah, I mean I got home from Iraq and obviously
like was dealing with things, and yeah he was. He
was my boy, like kind of my service dog without
Surfa and so yeah, no, it was we and you know,
we were expecting the worst and all that and like
trying to prep ourselves and uh, this boy comes trotting
out of the back round nothing's wrong, and we're like, uh.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
You told me my dog was like dying. We need
to put him down. Like, yeah, I looked at Jarink
because we walked in there fully expecting to be saying goodbye,
Like we told them like, okay, we're gonna come say goodbye.
We can what so that's what we thought we were doing.
I looked at Jena, I'm like, I am not putting
my dog down.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Well, and the doctor came in and he's like, so, yeah,
I don't know what's going on. Essentially, like we saw
what we saw, but clearly you see he's really happy
to see you guys, and he hasn't been eating.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
I mean he was skinny, skinny, refusing to eat, not
drinking water, and so basically.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
They're like, we can give you some food to see
if he'll eat, but just don't expect I mean, he
was chomping that food down.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
They said, if you can get him to et, you
can take them home, and so we opened he was
like they gave us two jars of baby food, and
he was like trying to get it open out of
our hands, and he is stayed this full little thing.
So basically they're like, we don't know how long he's
not going to live. They gave us like just a
handful of pain meds, basically because they didn't think he'd
(34:21):
make it through the weekend. And so we went and
stayed at his dad's house with him, basically because we're like,
we don't want to go far this vet already knows
what's going on, and.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
That boy we went through all the mads called to
get a refill and they're like, uh.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
What excuse me, He's still alive.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Basically, Yeah, they didn't want to say that. They're just like, okay,
we'll refill it.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Yeah. So we eventually make the like he's slowly starting
to eat more kind of thing. So we make the
call we're going to take him home, and took him home.
This is so funny because all this, all these memories,
this is he's starting to get better. And then that's
when we first signed with our first media agency. Yeah,
(35:05):
at the same time, we had like just oh.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Yeah, and we're just like all we care about is
like our boys recovery. And it was in the middle
of like the peak of Gangs's Paradise skits. So we
were doing these three you know, gangst Paradise skits and
you'll see like little you know, he'll be in one
or two and you can tell like he was sick
or recovering, you know, but nobody knew.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
We moved our bed out into the living room because
he couldn't jump because of his saying, so we had
our mattress on the floor. So because our dogs sleep
with us, and so like two weeks goes by and
all of a sudden he's playing with our other dog
and we're like, we're going to get a second opinion.
So we took him in for a second opinion. Nobody
could figure out what was wrong with him. They knew
(35:46):
he had tumors, but they couldn't figure out like they
were always we had multiple tests and they were all
coming back non cancerous. So we started, like we did
a bunch of different treatments on him.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
And we're talking like three months in now, like he's.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Yes, stare like doing all these tests.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
They're like, maybe an autoimmune thing. I don't really know.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
So he I mean, he really bounced back. He lived
for another six months after that happened. Yeah, we did
that January. He had bounced back enough that we did
go and actually get to film with coolioh and and
stayed in the Airbnb and had a bunch of really
cool content. But yeah, then it was cancer. It was
bone cancer and that's why it wasn't detected.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
Yeah, and so but we got to do all these
cool things with him, you know, because we just didn't know,
you know, We're like, okay, autoimmune maybe, but yeah, we
he loved the ocean and all that, so we'd take
them beach every weekend and all that.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
But the craziest thing, I have to say this, the
craziest thing though, is the night that he passed. It's
like we're in.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
Mid its another weird thing.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Yeah, And for one, organ doesn't get snow hardly ever,
but mid April we're starting to warm up. Right the
night that he passed, we just randomly got snow and
I'm like, Jaran, it's snowing outside, and Chester loved the snow,
the snow. Yeah, And so we took him outside and
he has snowflakes on.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Him and it was like he laid on the the
like went on his own, laid on the couch just
looking out at the snow and it was just like
a totally meant another meant to be moment.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Yeah, and then that was the day that he passed.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Yeah, Well, thankful that you guys had that extra time,
because I'm sure you know it was rushing back. You're like, yeah,
it was.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
It was traumatic, but yeah, I'm really glad and I
would do it. I don't care who I'm meeting my
my I would do it right now if I got
to call that.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
My dog was Oh yeah, for sure. But the Coolio
thing we it was really cool because we end up
staying in Airbnb with Rich, the guy that had connected
us with him, and he's like, we got there and
Rich is like, so Coolia is gonna be staying with
us at the Airbnb. I'm like serious. So he actually
spent the night there at the airbb with us, and
(37:55):
he loved to cook. I guess he had his own
cooking show for some time and then they just released
a cooking book of his. I'm sure that he prepared
prior to his passing. But yeah, so he cooked us
this great meal. We went live with him and he
did his freestyle. In fact, I have a video up.
You could probably find him one of our tagged videos
on TikTok where I interrupt his freestyle. I couldn't hold
(38:16):
it in. I couldn't hold it in. I'm like, let
him do a thing. He's O g rapper and oh yeah,
you got If you haven't seen it, you need to
watch it. It's hilarious.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Wait, excuse me, sir.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
I would say what Jaron said out loud.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
It was inappropriate.
Speaker 5 (38:30):
It was not a promitt but it it fit. And
his wife was busting up laughing. I'm telling you, she
was like the funniest thing ever.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
And He's like, I iffing with you anymore? Man, I am.
You know, he was clearly joking, but yeah, I was like, oops,
I love it.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
It seem like it seemed like you guys had a
great time. Are there any other creators or should we say,
celebrities that you guys have worked with or want to
work with.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
We've worked with a ton of creat because that's one
of the things that we really enjoy doing. I like
to get to know other people, see how they make content.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
And I learned that way too. You know. It's like,
it's funny even though we filmed with a lot of
smaller creators, and some of them are the hardest working
social media creators that I've ever met, and great actors,
you know, Like I could think of a couple different couples, right,
and I'm like, we left their place, and I told me,
I said, we need to work harder. We need Yeah, yeah, honestly,
(39:26):
and we work pretty hard. So yeah, but we've met
like Dane Cook end up randomly inviting us to an
l A show of his and he roasted us half
the show. That was pretty epic.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Yeah, anyone that you would want to work with.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
I well, so we've been really trying to make this
thing happen with Gabriel and Glesias Fluffy comedian.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
We've touched base on and off, but he's always on
a world tour, so it's just.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
How dare he doesn't he know?
Speaker 2 (40:00):
But we I mean anybody in the comedian honestly, Yeah,
like a lot of them we find really funny.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
I'd like to film with some legit actors. That'd be
kind of fun to me.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Yeah. I And and you know, we've you make the
connections you make while you're doing this, Like we have
connections in the like rock side of things, like musicians,
and we're like, what, like how we just love music.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
So it's great no matter what musician reaches out, we're like, yeah,
we're down. We just did a music video with Matt Ferris.
He's kind of an up and coming country music Yeah,
and that was really fun. Doing a music video is
you know, really fun because we didn't have to do much,
you know, But I mean, at.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
The end of the day, like if it's somebody that
kind of aligns with with our type of content. We're
really open, Like we were not people to be like
I won't work with you and we.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Love to travel, so which I will say, you guys
are very genuine.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Oh I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
You definitely are. I mean I don't have people on
my page and me vouch for them and say go follow,
because then really like whoa if they want to follow
them the follow, Like, that's up to them. I'm not
gonna like vouch for them. But what is something that
you guys feel that you've learned along the way.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
You never know who you're talking to.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Yes, that's a big one. We kind of learned that
in the brewery industry too, but yeah, very much with
social media you never know.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
So like if I were to give anybody advice is
always be just be open to who you may be
talking to. Uh, you never know who you're shutting down
like by being kind of you know, snooty or whatever
or having that attitude. Because a lot of our biggest
opportunities came from essentially nobody to us that ended up
(41:45):
being really being somebody.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
That's very true.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
Yeah, it's crazy, you guys say that because I had
someone reach out to me during a life either like oh,
I threw your name in the hat for something and
I'm like, what what are you talking about. It's like, well,
there's a show that John does in Cincinnati and he
had an influencer on and I was like, why in
the world would you not have Savage Mom on, Like
she has way more followers in that person. I was like, oh, well,
(42:08):
thank you. That was nice. And like the next day
I get an email like, hey, do you want to
come on the radio show? And I was like, okay,
like is this legit? But then had like iHeart and everything.
I was like, oh, okay, this is legit. So I
didn't know, but someone, you know, just took their own
leap of faith and was like, I'm going to put
your name out there. And I thought that was very sweet.
(42:29):
So you're right, like you never.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
Know, yeah, yeah. And also I mean, if you have
an interest in something, just try it, you know, Like
I've always been so scared to try new things and
all that, and like the TikTok's like I had no clue.
Like I feel like, even like I said earlier, I
feel like my stuff is so goofy and like, how
is this working? But people enjoy stuff that you maybe
(42:52):
necessarily you don't enjoy, and it works and it resonates
with people.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Which I okay. So I think it's so crazy because
he's very theatrical like on our videos. He never was
a theater kid or anything. Really, I never was, but
he like the faces he makes and stuff. I'm like,
you are a theater kid at heart.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
I think in his journal, if you got like his
fifth grade journal or something, it would say I wanted
to be an actor.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
Possibly I don't.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
I always want to. He he always wanted to be
a musician.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
Yeah. So the whole like rock connections for me are like,
oh yeah, this is awesome. You know, would you.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Join a band or do you need to be Sola?
Speaker 3 (43:26):
I would join a band. I need that background music
and to cover my voice. But yeah, no, it's cool
because like these these rockers are like, you know, sometimes
fangirling over our stuff. I'm like, are you kidding me?
Like you're a legend, you know, You're like.
Speaker 1 (43:40):
I was you for Halloween one. You're yeah, yeah, all right.
Something that you guys would change about social media.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
There's a lot, honestly where do I begin Let it's
like we're all about yeah, no kidding, right, each platform, uh,
And we're all about making the content and like keeping
to what we do. And you know, sometimes it's just
difficult to get our content out to those that want
to watch it, and so just having to constantly adjust
(44:13):
to the algorithms and all that. Like, I feel like,
as established content creators, we shouldn't have to worry about
that so much. But you know, at the same time,
if it doesn't work on one, it definitely works on
the other, So I can't complain too much.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
Yeah, and I mine wouldn't necessarily be like what I
would change about social like the platforms, but it would
be like the mindset that people have towards social media,
like content creators and influencers, because the mindset if they're
not in the industry is like, oh, that's easy. You
have an easy job, Like what I wouldn't give to
(44:47):
be you. And it's like, no, we literally are working
way more now than we did, even when we have
the brewery.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
I will vouch for you because I work my ass off. Yeah,
I mean there are days I am like, oh I
just woke up, it's eleven thirty at night, like what
the heck? Like I blinked, and then we joked about
the day thing. I am serious, I'm like, what's today?
I probably look at my watch twenty times like, oh no,
it's Monday. Okay, I got this on Monday.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
Yeah, make sure.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
And at this point, before I had my son, everyone
would call me, oh, hey, Heather, what's this? And what
did so and so say? Back in nineteen eighty five,
I'm like, oh this. Now I'm like, for Fox's sakes,
I can't remember what if it's not in my calendar.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
I'm like, I was so bad about putting stuff in
the calendar, and now it's like, okay, what are we
doing when yeh, I'm putting it in the calendar right
now that if I don't.
Speaker 1 (45:35):
I would roll my eyes at those people like, oh
my god, really you're gonna put in your calendar? And
now I'm like, if it is not in there, there's
a highly likely chance that I am not going to remember.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
Oh yeah. Yeah. It's funny though, because like people close
to us, they knew how much we worked with the brewery,
and they don't believe me or you when we say, listen,
we're working ten times more you know, like, oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
Okay, ye shuts off either, right, at least in my head,
it does.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
Not having fun online, Okay, I'm like constantly, okay, if
we're not filming or doing something, I'm like, what are
we going to be doing?
Speaker 3 (46:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (46:11):
What's the plan? And like we have notebooks of just ideas.
Oh wows. Our brain just doesn't shut off.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Good for you, because me and my brain doesn't shut off.
I'll try sometimes I'll put a note in, you know,
in my whatever in my phone, but it's like I
have all the mom moments and all the other things, right,
So it's like, you've got the content. I've got the content.
I've got the podcast. I've got there. And I would
not change my life for anything. I just wouldn't. I mean,
there's goods, there's bad, there's in betweens, and you're busy,
(46:39):
but I just say, you know what, I I realize
that you were going to care about yourself the most.
Speaker 3 (46:47):
Oh yeah, that's so true.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
So you have to make sure that you're feeding yourself spiritually, mentally, physically,
all those things. And you're like, okay, if I can
do that and not be you know, chained too, well,
I have you have this many likes or this may
used or whatever. So if you are like, all right,
this is what I did. I put this out for
the world. I have to make sure that I eat.
I have to make sure my son eats. I have
(47:09):
to make sure I sleep, I have to make sure
all those things. So that was a hard lesson I
think I had to learn too. And the upcoming creators
I feel like they burn that candle on both ends
and oh yeah, is that rat race? It's that rat race?
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Yeah, yeah, I can't imagine starting nowadays because it's I
feel like it's so much harder that it can be.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
But I think you go when you do what you love.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
And yeah, it works or it doesn't.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
I absolutely love it. Okay, we're now at the point
where we do this savage seven.
Speaker 3 (47:37):
Let's do it.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
So it's seven rapid fire questions. You can have a
skip Nope, you know what, I'm not giving you anything.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
We're doing.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
I didn't even put an eighth question down because we're
not skipping. So you have to answer, honestly.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
Do you say bringing have the tequilas?
Speaker 3 (47:51):
This?
Speaker 1 (47:54):
All right?
Speaker 3 (47:55):
Are you ready? Let's do it?
Speaker 1 (47:57):
A secret you have never told Maggie.
Speaker 3 (48:01):
Everything. I told her everything.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
I don't know. There's gotta be something there. Oh, she's
looking at him, like wait what I.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Don't think that's what works about us. Like thing that we.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
Do not do is keep secrets. I cannot. I can't
even keep a secret when I buy him a Christmas
I got one.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
I got one. The plane it was you. It was me.
I did blame that girl, but it was me. But honestly,
like if I don't tell, what flight did you take?
Speaker 1 (48:39):
So all right, all right, Maggie, your turn a secret?
You have never told Jaren.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
That's the thing. Like I can't even keep his Christmas
present secret.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
She's terrible.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Yeah, I can so bad. I'm like, I'm planning you, Like, okay.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
This woman will never get on me because I'll know.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
Like, no, it was I played.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
I planned the.
Speaker 2 (49:06):
Birthday video for him, and I I go, Jona, this
is gonna sound real shady, but please don't check my text,
because I go, I know it sounds shady, but your
birthday is next month, so please don't check my text.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
Also, she's not into it that much with me. I
know she's not going to get another guy a chance.
Speaker 1 (49:22):
So so there's nothing.
Speaker 2 (49:26):
No I can I cannot keep a secret?
Speaker 1 (49:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (49:29):
We I mean honestly, like we're we really are best friends. Yeah,
like I can't wait to tell you.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
Steal like a pack of gum or something. No.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
I told them all that we've ran out in stories. Listen,
like you told me this like six, we don't.
Speaker 3 (49:44):
We're that older couple, like typically you see him in
their eighties, Like not talking to each other at dinner,
that's us. That's us because.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
We've ran out and they're on their own phones.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
They're right, I don't get you know, like, how could
you not talk to each other at dinner? Well, we've
talked about it ten times over and she's tired of
my stories.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
So okay, So then we'll ask you, who is your
hall pass?
Speaker 2 (50:06):
My hall pass? Gavin Rossdale?
Speaker 3 (50:08):
Isn't that dirty? Like he's like eighty.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
We've talked about this.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
Who is your hall pass? Oh?
Speaker 3 (50:14):
I have many?
Speaker 1 (50:16):
Think that's dirty? Should have one.
Speaker 3 (50:19):
The funny thing is I'm terrible with names, so I
couldn't tell your names. It's the gal from the notebook.
I know what is her name?
Speaker 2 (50:26):
Rachel McAdams, Yeah, that girl, yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
And also the office you know what I'm talking about
Jones Rashida Jones.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
You know, okay, well you should limit.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
That, you know, it may happen, you know.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
Right, what's your most embarrassing moment as a couple?
Speaker 3 (50:45):
Who is a couple?
Speaker 1 (50:47):
Not you're farting on the plane?
Speaker 3 (50:50):
Well she was.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
What has happened as a couple.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
We haven't had anything crazy embarrassed, I mean having that,
you know, just meeting COULI, Oh, that was kind of embarrassing,
but we didn't.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
Get yah, that's tragic.
Speaker 5 (51:04):
Yeah, boy, this one time we almost got kicked out
of Skyline Chili.
Speaker 1 (51:12):
Yeah, savage mom, and will never go back to that
skylike no.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
I will say this, The Dane Cook situation was kind
of embarrassing because I knew that being in, but we
were the only people invited to a show, and uh
I knew. I knew he was going to roast us.
I just didn't know how in depth.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
And the audience didn't know that he like had a
prior connection. They thought that he was just picking on
a couple.
Speaker 3 (51:39):
Yes, And also there was a to drink minimum there
and they didn't have a non alcoholic like you had
to buy. I mean, of course you didn't have to
drink him. But I'm like, if I'm ordering an old fashioned,
I'm going to drink this. And it was and it
was strong, so like halfway into my first one, I'm like, oh,
I'm going to be hammered while he roasted me. And
(52:01):
that's what happened.
Speaker 1 (52:02):
And you say anything back?
Speaker 3 (52:04):
Well, he was asking questions. Yeah, oh yeah, I remember.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
I ever let him live this. So Dane Cook asked why,
like what do you love? Like, what's the number one
thing you love about her? He asked me first, and
I don't even remember what I said. It was probably
something really it.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
Was super sweet.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
Jared looks the sky and he goes, She's a hard worker.
Speaker 3 (52:30):
I swear it was the first thing I thought of,
She's a very hard worker. I'm like, I don't know
what his response was, but it was hilarious.
Speaker 2 (52:36):
Like, that's the one thing you love about me out
of everything, is I'm a hard worker.
Speaker 3 (52:41):
No, Like, it was probably the worst time you too,
because I'm pretty sure you're on your period at the time,
because I remember it did not sit well and it
still has not aged well either. Actually, I'm glad you're
smiling about it now.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
All things you could have said in the bedroom. You
could have said anything, you could have added anything.
Speaker 3 (52:58):
I was drunk. I told you old fashions. Yeah no,
And immediately as they came out of my mouth, I'm
like ship, You're.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
Like, I'm sleeping on the couch. We're putting the bed back,
all right. Do you guys have any icks?
Speaker 3 (53:18):
Oh? Many? Maybe have so many. She has a bit
of the tism.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
I am very triggered by sounds, okay, and I'm like
the loudest swallower, like when it comes to drinking water,
like it sounds like a gulp, like shiver just now.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Yeah, but I don't think I heard it. So you've
drank around me. Up.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
I cannot drink quietly like it bothers me at times.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Okay, let's hear it.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
Well, I'm out of water, but you got water over there.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
Yeah, she can sip. She's got to do it truthfully too.
Usually it's loud. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:07):
But when we were filming the documentary, the whole time,
I'm like, miked right here and I go to law
was the guy that was filming everything, Like I'm so
sorry because between me yawning because I can't control my
yawns and me swallowing when I'm drinking water that he's
probably had to edit out so much.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
Oh yeah, okay, I might have to edit this out,
but just imagine, okay, moving.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
On, Okay, I can't handle I cannot handle Jaren chewing
gum near me, eating food near.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
There's a I don't know what it's called.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
It shut out, and she has it.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
If he's shaking his leg and it's like scuffing fee,
there is a SERI.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
Yeah, well no, I don't know what it's called. Someone
someone's already gonna be They're gonna be screaming it right now,
I know. But if you listen to someone too and
you can't or.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Like the screen.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
Any noise, it's uh movement. So like if he if
we're laying in bed and I feel the bed shake,
like I'm like, can.
Speaker 3 (55:20):
You shake shake?
Speaker 2 (55:23):
I'm like, can you stop there? By himself? He has
the thing where he like has to shake his leg
sometimes I'm like, okay, you're shaking the bed, can you
please stop? Or like if he's shaking his leg near
me and it's like touching the chair or anything, it
will bother me. If he touches me with his feet
and they're cold, like just a little like the little touched.
Speaker 1 (55:44):
Okay, you, I don't know whether you are serious or not, Like,
is it an autism thing? I've never been because you
know that we don't joke about that.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
No, we don't.
Speaker 2 (55:54):
But but I am very I should probably get tested, Okay,
I would not be surprised with how much I get triggered.
I cannot I cannot focus, Like if he's talking to
me and I'm trying to edit a video, I'm like,
you need to stop talking right now because it like
triggers me. I get angry because I can't focus.
Speaker 3 (56:15):
I feel like we all have a bit of sensory issues,
you know, and she just has a little bit more it.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
I mean, who knows, but I mean what it doesn't
I mean, if you get tested, would me at what
like what level on the spectrum? I would be sure, right,
But I mean do they give you like mechanics to
work with that or would that help you?
Speaker 2 (56:37):
Say?
Speaker 1 (56:37):
Okay, well this triggers me.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
So don't do that. I don't know, like, I don't
know if they would help you tools or what like.
I've never even like I've never even thought about any
of that. But it's like it's it's a problem is
it it comes.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
It can be like but you know it by now
you know what those triggers are.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
Funny. It's so funny that it works with us too,
because like you know the love languages, right, well, mine's
physical touch number one by far, and she like she
has never been that way, like it's bottom of her list.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
Like when I thought you were going in for a
hug and I was like, when you were throwing something away,
I'm like, what's happening and it's.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
Like it's a hug like once I know, but it's
a triggering thing.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
It's a trigger thing. Like I don't I'm not a
physical touch person, like I don't, I don't know, but
I would not be a surprised. I full on, we
were we were I think I had a stroke just now.
When we were in Scotland. We were driving by by
highland cows and I really wanted to stop and see him.
(57:44):
I fall on, like started doing this and I've never
done something like that, Like I got so clapping, flapping.
Speaker 1 (57:52):
I've heard of that because my son does that. My
son when he's like when he was younger, he was
doing that and so I was like, oh, you should
get him tested and I was like tested for what yeah,
And they were like, well, flapping is one of the
queues or keys or something else.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
I didn't. And when I was younger, I used to
like when I was young, young, I would uh tipy
toe walk, which is another sign.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
Okay, all jokes aside, though, if you are you're high
function enough to clearly like you know.
Speaker 1 (58:17):
Yeah, but that could be really cool that if you
do get tested and you see that, that would be
really cool to be an advocate.
Speaker 2 (58:26):
Yeah. I would one hundred percent be an advocate for
it because I know there's a ton of people.
Speaker 3 (58:32):
That have autism that I feel like people that have
autism too are very creative as well from what I've
heard and seen, so possibly you're very.
Speaker 1 (58:40):
I think that would be pretty amazing to you know,
have Maybe I should just get tested. I think that
you should. Okay, next question, next question, last question, Actually, okay, okay,
tell me something that you would not eat.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
Mayo? Oh yeah, mustard.
Speaker 3 (58:56):
I'm not going to say what Maggie calls mayo, but
she hates mayo.
Speaker 4 (58:59):
Would also it's a devil seamen, so you eat regular
people semen, even with the pineapples.
Speaker 2 (59:12):
What else want I eat.
Speaker 5 (59:13):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
She has a raw onions.
Speaker 3 (59:15):
I will say this. So like when we got together,
I got home from a rack and I look in
the fridge and I'm like, what the hell is this, Maggie.
She has like whole milk jugs.
Speaker 2 (59:25):
I had two full gallons of whole milk, two cases
of soda, I mean, and that was it. Basically, I
grew up in the Midwest and we drank milk with
every meal. We had cereal for breakfast and glass of
milk with dinner. And I was never allowed to We
never had soda in the house. It had like two
liter bottles for a party. That was it. So when
(59:46):
I was on my own, I'm like, I'm buying all
soda I want and I.
Speaker 4 (59:50):
Have to have.
Speaker 3 (59:50):
She was also eighteen, just turned eighteen years old.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
But I'm so my son's eleven. I don't know if
he's ever had a sip of soda.
Speaker 3 (59:57):
Oh wow, that's that's good.
Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
I have it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
I haven't drank it in twenty five years.
Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
Yeah, we don't really know. Yeah, we just leave it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
But that's hilarious. Milk and soda.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
No, I said, we're getting you out and we need
to educate you a little bit on.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
I do feel like people that grew up in the
Midwest don't come for me. People that are listening, but
I do feel like people in the Midwest it's like,
we don't really have that expanded palette until we get older.
Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
I will say this, I really like, is it Ronza
Ronza Ronza? I do not, And it's like very you
only find that place in the Midwest, and it's like
cabbage like Phillies.
Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
It's like cabbage sandwich, Like, oh, this.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Is unique, right down my asle.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
It's not good.
Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
Yeah, you guys had Skyline chili for the first time.
What was your thoughts?
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Like, it was very different. It was very different. I
wish there was more chili on it, but I think
they were.
Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Stingy because everyone was so loud, and yeah, probably they're.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
Like these influencers.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
I didn't hate it.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
I will not probably ever or I love unique and
different stuff, so I was like, yeah, this is this
is awesome, but I didn't hate it. Yeah, but definitely
now she like she loves fas, she likes unique foods,
but like the sauces very much like that wasn.
Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
Jaron's Like, I said, where do you guys want to go?
To dinner. Maggie doesn't do sauces, so I'm like, okay,
well let's not go to Magiano's because there's sauce on
a lot of stuff. And he's like, no, no, no,
not that kind of stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
My sauce, my sauce.
Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
Not it's just like the sandwiches and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
That is awesome. Okay, we are going to close it
out because we're over an hour.
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
Oh wow, people, I can talk a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
They can play this back. Actually, we could just do
like six episodes knock it out.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
Yeah, chop it up, chop it up.
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
But you guys, honestly, I adore you. I think you
guys are super genuine. I am so thankful that you
guys came out.
Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
I really am.
Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
I'm fun. This has been a blast. I'm so glad
we did to make a wish to like that was amazing,
Like gives me goose ones right now talking about it.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
I just got a text. I'm not going to say
how much because we're going to do a video on it,
but I just got a text, and obviously you guys
saw my face, so yeah, there's that. But no, thank you,
guys from the bottom of my heart for trusting me
because you know, when people ask people to do things
like you don't really know, like what is that really
going to be about? But the fact that you guys
are open to working with people and never saying hold on,
(01:02:10):
wait a minute, this crazy lady has this idea, So
thank you very much. Make sure that you guys pick
up the Blonde Brewer everywhere on all your socials. And
on that note, we're out chers.
