Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm Bishop td Jakes, inviting you to unwind your mind
and spirit with Tonight's sleep song. But you do see
trouble and grief, you consider it to take it into
your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless Psalm ten,
(00:23):
verse fourteen. God, I confess that at times I don't
feel your presence. Intellectually, I know your promises, but there
are moments when I feel distant from you, like a
ship adrift in the open sea. The abyss is before me,
(00:49):
and I feel helpless without an anchor. But I know
the echoes of my desperate cries always reach you. Even
when my heart is tossed to and fro, I know
there's an anchor for my soul. I know I will
(01:11):
not always feel your loving presence, since my mind and
heart can be fickle and weak. But I pray somehow
you would reach me in my despair, find me like
a shepherd to his lost sheep. As the night approaches,
(01:35):
remind me that the dawn of your love will always
come bring me back to you. In Jesus' name, I
believe and pray. Amen, thank you for praying with me.

your mind, and focus your thoughts on God. Visualize him
as a powerful and righteous king that is in complete
control of every nation, every person. He sees all the
(03:43):
pain and suffering in this world. Tonight, He sees you
and wants to bring you hope and peace so that
you may find rest in Him. Breathe in and out,
surrender to God. Lift all your stress and anxiety from
(04:05):
today to Him. With your next exhale, relinquish control to
the sovereign Lord. Meditate on his mercy and justice. Breathe
in and out slowly. With each breath, allow your lungs
to completely fill with air before exhaling. As you breathe out,
(04:29):
release the stress and tension in your muscles. As you

to speak to you tonight. Listen for his still small
voice to lead you down a safe, secure path that

(04:53):
in our world, the Bible tells us we can find
rest in knowing God sees every injustice, and his justice
will ultimately prevail. To night. We can find hope for
our future and peace in our present by focusing on
God's strength and power. Psalm ten from the King James's
(05:16):
version says, why standeth thou afar off, O Lord? Why
hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? The wicked in
his pride doth persecute the poor? Let them be taken
in the devices that they have imagined. For the wicked
boasteth of his heart's desires, and blesseth the covetous, whom
(05:39):
the Lord abhorreth. The wicked, through the pride of his
countenance will not seek after God. God is not in
his thoughts. His ways are always grievous. Thy judgments are
far above out of his sight. As for all his enemies,
he puffeth at thee. He hath said in his heart,
(06:03):
I shall not be moved, for I shall never be
in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit
and fraud. Under his tongue is mischief and vanity. He
sitteth in the lurking places of the villages. In the
secret places doth he murder the innocent. His eyes are
(06:25):
privily set against the poor. He lieth in wait, secretly
as a lion in his den. He lieth in wait
to catch the poor. He doth catch the poor. When
he draweth him to his net. He croucheth and humbleth himself,
that the poor may fall by his strong ones. He
(06:47):
hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten. He hiddeth
his face. He will never see it. Arise, O, Lord,
O God, lift up thine head and forget not the humble.
Wherefore doth the wicked condemn God? He hath said in
(07:08):
his heart, thou wilt not require it, Thou hast seen it,
for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to require it by
thy hand. The poor committeth himself unto thee Thou art
the helper of the fatherless. Break thou the arm of
the wicked, and the evil man. Seek out his wickedness
(07:31):
till thou find none. The Lord is King forever and
ever the heathen are perished out of his land. Lord,
thou hast heard the desire of the humble. Thou wilt
prepare their heart. Thou wilt cause thine ear to hear,
to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man
