Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm Bishop TD Jakes, inviting you to unwine your mind
and spirit with tonight's sleep song. Bless the Lord my soul,
and forget not all his benefits Psalm one three, verse two.

(00:26):
Dear Lord, tonight, I want to thank you for your
compassion as a father understands the limitations of a child.
You have patiently considered my weakness. You do not hold
me to an unrealistic standard. Instead, you lift me on

(00:48):
your shoulders so I can walk in your purposes. You
know my frame and understand that I am made of dust.
As I seek peace and rest tonight, remind my heart
to let go of perfection. I do not want to

(01:10):
be crippled by my weakness. I want to see them
as an opportunity for your strength to be shown. Help
me with patience tonight and make me rest in your
gentle embrace. Tomorrow will be filled with moments of faith

(01:32):
and failure, and I can be at ease knowing that
you love me through both. In Jesus's name, I relax.
In Jesus' name, I feel at ease. In Jesus's name,

(01:58):
I pray, Amen, thank you for praying with me. I'm
Bishop TD Jakes inviting you to unwind your mind and
spirit with Tonight's Sleep Song. Prepare your heart for this

(02:19):
devotional from the Book of Psalms, guiding you into a
RESTful embrace under your watchful eyes. Thank you for joining me,

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's Sleep Song by Prey dot com.
We will be meditating on Psalm one hundred and three.
Take a deep, cleansing breath. Feel the oxygen rich air
fill your lungs. Exhale slowly and feel the oxygen flow

(03:24):
through your veins, rejuvenating you and restoring you. Sit up
in a chair with your back straight and your shoulders back.
Relax your neck, rest your hands gently on your lap,
and rest your feet flat on the floor. Maintaining good

(03:44):
posture will open up your chest and heart, allowing the
cleansing of air to heal your body with each breath.
Close your eyes and picture God as your perfect father
that loves you and has compassion on you. Though he
is a father that fully knows you and fully loves you,

(04:07):
allow His love and grace to warm your heart and
nourish your body. Take a deep breath, lift your burdens
to your Father in heaven. Exhale slowly, and allow his
power and strength to lighten your load and help you

(04:27):
find rest tonight. Prepare to receive God's word, listen to
his still small voice, and find comfort in his truth.
The Bible reminds us our weaknesses are made perfect in
the power of God. We can bring our weaknesses to

(04:48):
Him and allow his power and strength, his compassion and
love to redeem us, heal us and restore us. One
hundred and three from the King James version says, Bless
the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me.
Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul,

(05:12):
and forget not all his benefits. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities,
Who healeth all thy diseases, Who redeemeth thy life from destruction,
Who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who
satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth
is renewed like the eagles. The Lord executeth righteousness and

(05:36):
judgment for all that are oppressed. He made known his
way unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and
plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide, neither will
he keep his anger forever. He hath not dealt with

(05:57):
us after our sins, nor will warded us according to
our iniquities. For as the Heathen is high above the earth,
so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so
far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as

(06:17):
a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them
that fear him. For he knowest our frame. He remembereth
that we are dust as for man his days are
as grass as a flower of the field. So he flourisheth,
for the wind passeth over it, and it is gone,

(06:40):
and the place thereof shall know it no more. But
the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
upon them that fear him and his righteousness, unto children's children,
to such as keep his covenant, and to those that
remember his commandments to do them. The Lord Lord hath
prepared his throne in the heavens and his kingdom ruleth

(07:04):
over all. Bless the Lord, Ye his angels excel in
strength that to his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of
this world. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts,
ye ministers of his that do his pleasure. Bless the
Lord all his works in all places of his dominion.

(07:27):
Bless the Lord, O my soul. As our creator, the
Lord knows our weaknesses. As our redeemer and healer, the
Lord can save us and heal us in our weakest moments. Tonight,
praise the Lord for all that he has done for you,
and praise him for all that he will do for

(07:49):
you as his beloved child. Breathe in and out, slowly
revel in the glory of the Lord your spirit to
praise him. Allow his glory and praise to soothe your soul. Tonight,
close your eyes and imagine the height and depth of

(08:12):
God's love for you. Know his love for you reaches
as high as the heavens and as low as the
depths of the pit of destruction and despair. Take comfort
in His everlasting love that blesses you and satisfies you
in this life and in eternity. Breathe in his love.

(08:34):
Breathe out any stress and tension in your body. Breathe
out any fears and doubts in your mind. Acknowledge any
unconfessed sin before the Lord. Ask for his forgiveness. Ask
for his help in your weaknesses and struggles. Know, just

(08:55):
as far as the East is from the west, he
has removed your transgressions from you. He has thrown your
iniquities into the sea of His forgetfulness. Allow his mercy
and grace to wash over you and cleanse your sin
and shame. Breathe in and out slowly, release your guilt

(09:19):
to the Lord, and allow his forgiveness to renew your spirit.
Praise the Lord, lift up his holy name. Thank him
for his salvation. Thank him for rescuing you from death
and destruction, and for redeeming your life. Thank Him for

(09:40):
the blessings he has bestowed upon you. Think of a
person who is wholly onto their sin and shame and
needs to experience freedom in God's forgiveness. Pray God will
touch their heart with his mercy and love. Pray they
will rest in him grace and peace to night. Come

(10:04):
before the Lord and lift your requests to him. Tell
him about your struggles. Tell him about the desires of
your heart. Know he is your perfect father who has
compassion on you and loves to give you good gifts
from above. Pray for God to heal you in some

(10:26):
area of your life, whether it is emotional healing or
physical healing. Pray he will restore your faith during difficult times.
Pray for God to help you obey his commandments. Pray
he will guide you down his safe, secure path where

(10:47):
you can find rest and satisfaction in him. Pray for
God to restore you tonight as you sleep, Pray he
will help you peacefully rest throughout the night. Take a
deep breath, be filled with the healing presence of God.

(11:07):
Exhale slowly, and let go of anything that might hinder
you from experiencing deep, RESTful sleep. Tonight, as you lay
down to sleep, relax your neck and shoulders and rest
her hands gently by your side. Breathe in and out

(11:30):
as your body relaxes and your mind calms. Allow God
to refresh you with his peace and restore you with
his power and strength.
