Speaker 2 (02:42):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's Sleep Psalm by pray dot com.
We will be meditating on Psalm twenty seven. As you
prepare to meditate on God's Word, get in a comfortable position.
You can lie down on your back wretched out with
your arms by your side, or you can sit up
(03:04):
in a comfortable chair, maintaining good posture with your back
straight and your hands resting on your thighs. Focus on
your breathing. Breathe in and out slowly. As you inhale,
allow your chest and lungs to fully expand hold that
(03:25):
breath for a few seconds. Then exhale slowly and release
any tension in your body. Relax your neck and shoulders.
Feel your fingers soften lightly, rest your feet flat on
the floor. As you relax your body and control your breathing,
(03:47):
Concentrate on clearing your mind and focusing your thoughts on
God and his word. Meditate on His mercy and love.
Take a deep breath and reflect on how how much
God loves you. Remember who you are in Him, a
child of God that is deeply valued and loved. Know
(04:10):
he fully knows you and fully receives you. As you are,
open your mind and heart to hear God's voice as
you listen to his word. Allow his word to comfort
you as you prepare to rest. The Bible tells us
God offers help for today and hope for our future tonight.
(04:33):
Allow your confidence in Him to relieve you of your
fears and anxiety, so that you may find rest. Psalm
twenty seven from the King James version says, the Lord
is my Light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom
(04:54):
shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies
and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh,
they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear, though war should rise against me.
In this will I be confident. One thing have I
(05:17):
desired of the Lord? That will I seek after? That
I may dwell in the House of the Lord all
the days of my life, to behold the beauty of
the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. For in
the time of trouble, he shall hide me in his pavilion,
in the secret of his tabernacle. Shall he hide me.
(05:39):
He shall set me up upon a rock, And now
shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round
about me. Therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices
of joy. I will sing, yea, I will sing praises
unto the Lord. Here, o Lord, when I cry with
my VOYE have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
(06:04):
When thou sayest seek ye my face, my heart said,
unto thee thy face, Lord, will I seek, Hide not
thy face far from me. Put not thy servant away
in anger. Thou hast been my help. Leave me not
neither forsake me, o, God of my salvation. When my
(06:26):
father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will
take me up, Teach me thy ways, o Lord, and
lead me in a plain path. Because of mine enemies.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies.
For false witnesses are risen up against me, and such
as breathe out cruelty. I have fainted unless I had
(06:49):
believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the
land of the Living. Wait on the Lord, be of
good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart. Wait, I
say on the Lord. The Psalmist reminds us who God
is and the hope he offers all those who put
their confidence in him. Let's take a few minutes and
(07:12):
meditate on the goodness of God and allow his hope
to comfort us as we settle down for the night.
Take a deep breath. Breathe in slowly as your chest expands.
Think about the fullness of God. Think of who he is.
He is your light in the darkness, your salvation that
(07:36):
secures your future. He is your stronghold that defends you
and upholds you. He is your Savior that loves you,
your helper that sustains you through the night. Take another
deep breath. Feel your chest rise and fall with each
new breath. When you breathe out, relief any fears and
(08:01):
doubts you have to God. Seek his face in the
darkness of the night. Feel his light fill your room
and his confidence fill your heart as He keeps you
safe while you sleep. No experiencing deep, peaceful sleep is
not dependent upon where you rest, but in whom you rest.
(08:26):
Know you are secure in the salvation of the Lord.
Know he will never reject you, He will never leave you.
Breathe in and out rest in the Lord, and you
will find peace. Tonight. Think of a time when you
(08:47):
did not place your confidence in God. Confess any doubts
you have about His goodness and faithfulness. Ask for his forgiveness.
Ask God to help you be confident in Him tonight.
Take a deep breath. Allow His mercy and love to
(09:08):
wash over you as you exhale. Release any shame you
are experiencing. Be confident in the hope that you will
see the goodness of the Lord in the land of
the Living one day. Think of a time when God
helped you with something difficult in your life. Praise Him
for his help in the past and present. Praise Him
(09:31):
for the hope he gives you for tomorrow. Praise Him
for his salvation that secures your future. Think of someone
who needs God's salvation tonight. Pray God will be the
light in their darkness and draw them near to Him
as they lay down to sleep. Lay your requests before God.
(09:55):
Believe he will answer you and help you. Take a
deep breath as you exhale, Release your worries and anxiety
to Him and wait expectantly on his answer. Pray you
will draw from the strength and the confidence of the
Lord to face your darkest fears. Pray his confidence will
(10:18):
help you rest tonight. Pray for God to teach you
His ways and lead you in a straight path that
allows you to rest safely and securely in Him. Pray
for God to help you with your struggles tonight. As
you go to sleep, draw near to God and confidently
(10:40):
rest in Him. Take a deep breath, slowly exhale and
feel your heart rate slow down. Feel your body soften
and your mind settle. As your body relaxes, allow God
to refresh your soul and bring you peace to help
(11:03):
you rest tonight.
