Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm Bishop TD Jakes, inviting you to unwine your mind
and spirit with Tonight's Sleepsalm. A man that has riches
without understanding is like the animals that perish, Psalm forty nine,
Verse twenty. Heavenly Father, Holy God, and King of Glory,
(00:31):
you hold justice and eternity in the palm of your hands.
There's no wealth I could accumulate to bring me peace
or financial gain that would give me salvation. My soul
is dependent on your grace, and your grace alone at night.
(00:54):
Worries about finances and security can consume me. But you
are the only one who gives me safety in times
of trouble. I do not rest tonight with peace in
my finances, but in your faithfulness. There is no material
(01:16):
possession I will carry with me into eternity, but the
treasure I have in You will last forever. I rest
in that truth tonight, Lord, in your holy and precious name,
(01:39):
I pray Amen, Thank you for praying with me. I'm

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's sleep psalm by pray dot com.
We will be meditating on Psalm forty nine. Before we
listen to Tonight's palm. We need to prepare to receive
God's word as truth. Let's open up our chest, open
(03:02):
up our heart, open up our mind. Lie down flat
on your back with your arms gently by your side.
Take a deep breath. Focus on relaxing your neck and shoulders.
Exhale slowly and release any tension in your body. With
(03:24):
the next series of breaths, focus on slowing your heart rate.
Be still in your quiet place, close your eyes and
take six long, deep breaths. Focus on your heartbeat. With
each long deep breath, Notice how your heart rate slows down.
(03:51):
Calming your mind and relaxing your body to prepare you
for sleep. Open your eyes and look around your space.
Look at all the possessions you hold. Dear now, close
your eyes and imagine the eternal treasures. Waiting for you
(04:12):
in heaven, in the space your gracious, loving Father has
provided for you. Find joy and satisfaction in his salvation.
Find hope in his word, and rest in his hands.
Breathe in and out slowly. The Bible reminds us riches
(04:34):
on earth are temporary, but the riches we store in
heaven are eternal. Tonight, Let's put our hope and trust
in God rather than the things of this world. Psalm
forty nine from the King James version says, hear this,
all ye people, give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world,
(04:58):
both low and high, rich and poor. Together, my mouth
shall speak of wisdom, and the meditation of my heart
shall be of understanding. I will incline mine ear to
a parable I will open my dark saying upon the harp,
wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when
(05:19):
the iniquity of my heels shall compass me About They
that trust in their wealth and boast themselves in the
multitude of their riches, none of them can by any
means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom
for him. For the redemption of their soul is precious.
And it seeeth forever that he should still live forever
(05:44):
and not see corruption. For he seeth that wise men die.
Likewise the fool and the brutish person perish and leave
their wealth to others. Their inward thought is that their
houses shall continue forever, and their dwelling places to all generations.
They call their lands after their own names. Nevertheless, man,
(06:09):
being in honor, abateeth not he is like the beasts
that perish. This their way is their folly. Yet their
posterity approve their saying, Seilah, like sheep. They are laid
in the grave. Death shall feed on them, and the
upright shall have dominion over them in the morning, and
(06:31):
their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
But God will redeem my soul from the power of
the grave, for he shall receive me Silah. Be not
thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory
of his house is increased, For when he dieth, he
(06:52):
shall carry nothing away. His glory shall not descend after him.
Though while he lived, he blest his soul, and men
will praise THEE. When thou doest well to thyself, he
shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall
never see light man that is honor and understandeth not
(07:15):
is like the beasts that perish in our world. So
many wealthy people are praised and exalted because of their
personal accomplishments and worldly success, But the Bible warns us
not to put too much trust in ourselves and too
(07:37):
much value and worldly treasures. The Psalmest beautifully reminds us
we will all face death and decay in this world,
but only those who put their trust in the Lord
will be redeemed and restored for eternity. So let's put
our hope and trust in the Lord and focus on
(07:57):
the bright future we have with him. Take a deep
breath Inhale and exhale slowly through your nose. Close your
eyes and focus on God, whose righteousness rescues and redeems you,
whose salvation secures your future. Open your eyes and know
(08:21):
that all the possessions that fill your room can only
be enjoyed during your time on earth, but the salvation
of God is something to be enjoyed for eternity. Praise
Him and allow his glory to fill your room, making
your possessions seem small in his presence. Breathe in and
(08:44):
out slowly, bask in the presence of the Lord. Allow
his truth to give you wisdom and understanding. Take delight
in his word and think about the bright future you
have in eternity with your heavenly Father. Close your eyes
and imagine a happy ending that never ends. Take a
(09:09):
deep breath, Exhale slowly, and relax your body. Think of
a time when you put too much value in material
possessions and worldly wealth. Confess any times when you served
money over God. Ask for his forgiveness and ask for
his help in guarding your heart and mind from the
(09:31):
temptations of this world. Take a deep breath. Feel his
love and grace wash over you. Exhale slowly, and release
any guilt and shame you are experiencing. Know God's love
and forgiveness cannot be bought. It can only be freely
(09:52):
accepted by putting your faith in him. Praise the Lord
for his salvation. Thank him for giving you wisdom and understanding.
Thank Him for the ways he has provided for you
and your family. Think of some one who needs to
experience God's riches and glory to night. Pray they will
(10:15):
put their trust and hope in Him and find satisfaction
in Him rather than in this world. Lay your requests
before God. Cast your cares and anxieties on him, for
he loves you. Pray for God to help you serve
him over money. Pray he will deliver you from the
(10:36):
temptations of this world. Pray for God to help you
not be envious of your neighbor or friend that is
more successful in this world. Pray you will be able
to find joy and delight in His presence rather than
in your possessions. Pray for God to provide for you
and your family's needs. Pray you will find satisfaction in
(11:00):
Him alone. As you lay down to rest tonight, take
a deep breath. As you exhale, release any tension and
stress that is still lingering from today. Relax your neck
and shoulders. Feel your body soften and your mind settle.
(11:21):
As your body relaxes, allow God to refresh your soul
and bring you peace to help you rest through the night.
