Speaker 2 (03:12):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's Sleep Psalm by Prey dot com.
We will be meditating on Psalm fifty three. Begin by
focusing on controlling your breathing to help your mind and
body relax. Take a deep breath. Feel your chest rise
(03:32):
as you inhale. When your chest fully expands and your
lungs completely fill with air, hold your breath for a
couple of seconds, then exhale slowly, feel your chest fall
as the oxygen flows. To rejuvenate your body. Get in
a comfortable position. You can lie down flat on your back,
(03:56):
or you can sit straight up in a chair.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Take it.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Do deep breath as you exhale, release the tension in
your muscles. Relax your neck and shoulders, and soften your
fingers and toes. Clear your mind, and focus your thoughts
on God's goodness and faithfulness. Know he is always looking
(04:20):
down on you, sustaining you through the day and protecting
you through the night. He fully knows you as your creator,
and he fully loves you as your father. Take a
deep breath. When you exhale, surrender your stress and anxiety
from today, and allow Him to lift your heavy burdens
(04:42):
off your shoulders. As your body relaxes and your mind
becomes quiet, ask God to prepare your heart to receive
his truth. Take another deep breath and get ready to
listen to God's word. Bible tells us God's existence is
not contingent upon our faith and belief, but our existence
(05:06):
is contingent on our faith and belief in Him. We
cannot exist without our Creator. We cannot save ourselves. Only
God can save us. Tonight, Let's find comfort and hope
knowing our God rescues us and restores us as long
as we put our faith in him. Psalm fifty three
(05:30):
from the King James version says the fool hath said
in his heart there is no God. Corrupt are they
and have done abominable iniquity. There is none that doeth good.
God looked down from heaven upon the children of men
to see if there were any that did understand, that
did seek God. Every one of them is gone back.
(05:54):
They are altogether become filthy. There is none that doeth good. No,
not one. Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? Who
eat up my people as they eat bread. They have
not called upon God. There were they in great fear
where no fear was for God hath scattered the bones
(06:15):
of Him that encompath against thee Thou hast put them
to shame because God hath despised them. Oh that the
salvation of Israel were come out of Zion. When God
bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice
and Israel shall be glad. God's word reminds us we
(06:35):
are all sinners, and we all have fallen short of
the glory of God. But while we were still sinners,
God chose to rescue us and redeem us, rather than
leave us in our sin. It is this hope in
which we can find comfort. As we lay down to rest,
take a deep breath, as your lungs fill with air.
(07:00):
Think about God breathing his life into mankind as your creator.
Know he will sustain you throughout every day and night.
Exhale slowly and release any tension in your body. No
God can restore every bone, every muscle, every joint. To
(07:21):
night as you sleep, breathe in and out slowly, close
your eyes and imagine God looking down on the earth,
trying to find those who seek him and love Him.
When he lays his eyes on you, know he sees
(07:42):
the righteousness of Christ covering you, and he takes delight
in you. He will go to great lengths to pursue
those who persecute you because of Him, and to protect
you and preserve you through the day and night. Think
of a time when you doubted God's existence or God's goodness.
(08:03):
Confess the times you have turned away from Him to
follow your own path. Ask for his forgiveness and for
him to help you stay on the path he has
for your life. Take a deep breath. Feel his love
and grace wash over you. Exhale slowly, and release any
guilt and shame you are experiencing. Know God will restore you.
(08:30):
Praise God for his salvation, Thank Him for redeeming you.
Thank Him for the times he has protected. You think
of someone who needs to accept God's gift of salvation.
Pray God will turn their heart toward him. Pray he
will reveal his truth to them. Lay your requests before
(08:52):
the Lord. Surrender any fears and doubts you may have.
Know he will help you and deliver you. Pray God
will give you his wisdom and understanding. Pray he will
guide you down his path of life and righteousness where
you are safe and secure. Pray God will protect you
(09:15):
from those who persecute you because of your belief in him.
Pray he will soften their hearts so that they will
know Him and accept His salvation too. Pray God will
deliver you from your fears, worries, and doubts. Pray he
will help you put your trust in Him so that
(09:36):
you can sleep peacefully through the night. Take a deep breath.
As you exhale, release any tension and stress that is
still lingering from today. Relax your neck and shoulders. Feel
your body soften and your mind settle. As your body relaxes,
(09:58):
allow God to refresh your sol and bring you comfort
to help you rest through the night.
