Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's sleep Psalm by pray dot Com.
We will be meditating on Psalm sixty one in a
quiet space. Get in a comfortable position, lie down flat
on your back or sit straight up in a chair.

(03:50):
Maintain good posture to open your chest and heart. Close
your eyes and take a deep breath on relaxing your
mind and body to meditate on God's word. Exhale slowly
and release any stress and anxiety from today. Take another

(04:13):
deep breath. As you breathe in focus on tensing the
muscles throughout your body. Hold your breath for a few seconds,
then exhale slowly and relax your muscles from your head
to your toes. With the next inhale, focus on contracting

(04:34):
the muscles of your body that are still tense. As
you exhale, release any tension in your muscles, and soften
your joints. Feel your heart slow down as you take
longer and deeper breaths. Breathe in and out. Slowly. Invite

(04:56):
God's presence as you prepare to receive his word. Ask
him to open your mind and soften your heart to
hear his truth. No, God is with you wherever you go.
He will never leave your side. He is there when
you call upon him for help. Wherever we are, God

(05:18):
is there to protect us, to help us, and to
guide us to a safe place in which we can
find rest. Tonight, let's put our confidence in Him and
allow his presence to fill our minds and hearts with
peace and hope. Psalm sixty one from the King James

(05:40):
version says, hear my cry, O, God, attend unto my
prayer from the end of the earth. Will I cry
unto THEE when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to
the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast
been a shelter for me and a strong tower from
them enemy. I will abide in Thy tabernacle forever. I

(06:04):
will trust in the covert of thy wings. Sellah for
thou O God hast heard my vows. Thou hast given
me the heritage of those that fear thy name. Thou
wilt prolong the King's life and his years as many generations.
He shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and

(06:25):
truth which may preserve him. So will I sing praise
unto Thy name forever that I may daily perform my vows.
The Bible reminds us God is our shelter in which
we can dwell safely and securely. And He is our
strong tower in which we can find protection from the enemy.

(06:47):
Like a bird's wings. He will cover us and keep
us warm and safe throughout the night. Breathe in and
out slowly, feel his mrdye and love wash over you.
Allow His truth to comfort you and preserve you. Take

(07:08):
a deep breath as you inhale, think about his promises,
filling your heart with joy and delight. Exhale slowly, and
release any fears and doubts you have. May His word
be your rock, a secure place you can run to

(07:28):
and find rest. Take a deep breath as your chest expands,
Allow praise to fill your lungs. Exhale slowly and rejoice
in His name with your next inhale, feel your mind
and heart rise above the noise that threatens to destroy

(07:49):
your peace. Hold your breath for a few seconds. Breathe
out slowly and release any stress in your muscles and
anxious thoughts in your mind. Confess any sin in your life.
Lift your doubts to the Lord. Think of a time

(08:10):
when you blamed God for your circumstances. Ask for his forgiveness,
and ask for him to cultivate a heart of worship
within you so that you will praise his name no
matter what. Take a deep breath, allow God's mercy and
love to wash over you. Exhale and release any guilt

(08:33):
and shame you are experiencing. Know He will always love you,
and he is always faithful. Praise God for his love
and faithfulness. Praise Him for his salvation. Thank him for
the prayers he has answered. Thank him for the inheritance
that you will receive one day from him. Think of

(08:56):
someone who needs to feel safe and secure. Tone pray
God will take them under his wings to protect them
and give them rest Throughout the night. Cry out to
the Lord. Cast your worries and anxieties on him. Know
he will listen to you and answer in his timing.

(09:20):
Pray God will give you the strength to face trials
and tribulations. Pray you will find rest in Him during
difficult times. Pray God will preserve you and keep you
healthy for many years. Pray his word will nourish your mind,
body and soul. Pray God will protect you and your family.

(09:44):
Pray He will keep you safe and secure through the
night so that you may rest peacefully. Take a deep breath.
Exhale slowly and release any tension that is still lingering
in your body. Close your eyes and relax your neck
and shoulders. Breathe in and out slowly with each exhale.

(10:12):
Soften your body from your head to your fingers and toes.
As your body relaxes, allow the power of God's presence
to comfort you and bring you peace to help you
sleep through the night.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
