Speaker 2 (03:21):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's sleep Psalm by Pray dot Com.
We will be meditating on Psalm sixty five. Get in
a comfortable position where you can relax your mind and body.
Think about keeping your back flat and straight and maintaining
good posture. To open up your chest and heart. Focus

(03:46):
on taking deep breaths to fill your lungs with air
and to settle your heart. Breathe in and out slowly
through your nose. Take a deep breath, Hold that breath
for a few seconds, then exhale slowly releasing any stress

(04:07):
and tension in your muscles and joints. With each breath,
focus on relaxing a different area of your body. Breathe
in and out gently. Rest your hands on your lap
or by your side. Soften your fingers and toes, relax

(04:28):
your neck and shoulders, close your eyes, and take another
deep breath. Imagine God filling you with his joy, hope,
and peace. Breathe out slowly and release any stress and
anxiety from today. Surrender your anxious thoughts to God. Know

(04:52):
he cares for you and He can give you everything
you need to sleep well tonight and to face tomorrow.
As your mind calms, ask God to speak to you
through his word. Ask him to remind you of who
He is and who you are to him. Allow his
word to lead you to a safe, quiet place where

(05:16):
you can sleep peacefully to night. Let's find joy in
the many ways God provides for us. We can rest
to night knowing God will give us what we need
to sustain us through the day and night. Psalm sixty
five from the King James's version says, praise waiteth for THEE,

(05:37):
O God in scion, and unto THEE shall the vow
be performed, O Thou, that hearest prayer unto THEE, shall
all flesh come, iniquities prevail against me, as for our transgressions,
Thou shalt purge them away. Blessed is the man whom
thou choosest and causest to a pro which unto THEE,

(06:01):
that he may dwell in thy courts. We shall be
satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, even of thy
Holy temple. By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O,
God of our salvation, who art the confidence of all
the ends of the earth, and of them that are
afar off upon the sea, which by His strength settest fast,

(06:25):
the mountains, being girded with power which stileth the noises
of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the
tumult of the people. They also that dwell in the
uttermost parts, are afraid at thy tokens. Thou makest the
outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. Thou visitest

(06:47):
the earth and waterest it. Thou greatly enrichest it with
the river of God, which is full of water. Thou
preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for thou
waterest the riches thereof abundantly. Thou settlest the furrows thereof
Thou makest it soft with showers. Thou blessest the springing thereof.

(07:13):
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness, and thy paths
drop fatness. They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness,
and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures
are clothed with flocks. The valleys also are covered over
with corn. They shout for joy. They also sing. God's

(07:36):
word reminds us he is our creator and provider, and
he will give us what we need every morning and
every night. He can provide for our physical, emotional, and
spiritual needs. No matter the type of provision you need tonight,
No God will sustain you. When you rest in His presence.

(07:59):
Breathe in and out slowly, Meditate on the wonderful works
of our creator. Close your eyes and imagine the majestic mountains,
the rolling hills, and the luscious meadows he created with
his power and strength. Delight in the work of his hands.

(08:20):
Know these same hands that created the roaring seas can
calm the storms of life. Exhale slowly and feel his
peace spread throughout your body, preparing you for deep, RESTful sleep.
Take another breath as your chest expands. Visualize God filling

(08:42):
your life with everything you need, just like He fills
the streams with water. He will fill you up with
everything you need to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.
Exhale slowly and release any worries and doubts and the life.
Allow his provision to flow throughout your body. Acknowledge your

(09:05):
sins before the Lord, ask for his forgiveness. Ask for
his help to resist temptation. Take a deep breath. Allow
God's grace and love to fill your spirit. Exhale slowly
and release any guilt and shame you are experiencing tonight.

(09:26):
Know He has forgiven your transgressions and has cleansed you
with his righteousness. Praise the Lord for his salvation. Praise
him for his mercy and grace. Thank him for the
prayers he has answered. Thank him for the blessings he
has given you. Think of someone who needs God's provision.

(09:47):
Pray he will bless them with what they need and
give them the desires of their heart. Pray he will
provide them with his hope and peace. Tonight as they sleep.
Lay your requests before the Lord. Tell him your needs
and your wants. Know He is your provider and will
shower you with his blessings and favor. Pray for God

(10:11):
to provide for your needs. Pray you will experience his
peace as you wait for his provision. Pray for God
to give you the desires of your heart. Pray your
desires will align with his. Pray for God to rejuvenate
your body and renew your mind and spirit. As you

(10:32):
sleep tonight, take a deep breath. As you exhale, release
any tension and stress that is still lingering from today.
As your body relaxes, allow God's provision and presence to
bring you peace as you rest through the night.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
